NEW AUTHOR

Pallas18 has been a professional astrologer for a professional astrologer for 30 years. Teaches and lectures for adult education and community college and resident lecturer at a Border's bookstore.

While the astrologers posting on this site use the Sagittarius Rising Chart for the United States there are several others that can be used one of them is the Gemini Rising. Pallas18 bases her astrological interpretations on the Gemini Rising Chart. Please welcome Pallas 18 as a new visiting author
Astrologers:

Is This The End of The Boy King ?

Gandering at W. Bush's chart: transiting Pluto at 18 Sag in his 5th house and
conjunct his SOUTH NODE is opposing his natal Uranus in the 11th. (Heh heh
heh. )

His ideology, his ideas of "governance" HIS GOVERNMENT is beginning to
crumble...and all of Humpty Dumpty's men aren't going to put it together again,
because the boob is isolating himself and the rethuglicans are turning on him (or running as fast as they can, tsk-tsk ) The aloneness of it all when his friends have become his enemies as Uranus transits his 7th house.

Here's the Good News - for us, but not for Junior. Pluto transiting to his
South Node is there from now to December and opposes his natal Uranus. This
transit occurs in Junior's 5th house which is the 4th house of end of matters to
his second house of money and finances. (Heh heh heh. What? You say Congress has woken up to Halliburton's being awarded no-bid contracts in Iraq?)

Neptune Rules

This is a new article by Isabelle Ghaneh, be sure to welcome her.

There was a great little movie out a while back, called The Quiet American, based on a book by Graham Greene. It was about the ultimate destruction of everyone concerned in a small country in the far east. It was about the CIA’s involvement and their duplicitous lies, the CIA’s and the American governments backing of a disreputable candidate against the peoples’ of that country wishes, and the CIA’s and the American governments complete and utter ignorance of what was actually going on in that far eastern country leading to the deaths of many many innocent people, on both sides. It took place in 1955 and it was about Vietnam. Sound familiar?

From Tikrit, Iraq to New Haven, Connecticut

Again, another fascinating author, Bob Jordan, with his insights regarding the energies swirling around us and our leaders.

One of the most fundamental insights in Vedic astrology is the observation that the same planet can behave in different ways for different ascendants. Jupiter, for instance, is not the expansive benefic for Libra that it is for Scorpio, but a strong malefic. As lord of 3 and 6 and a natural enemy of Venus, lord of Libra, Jupiter presents a completely different face to Libra ascendants than it does to Scorpio ascendants as lord of 2 and 5 and a natural friend of Mars, lord of Scorpio. What remains unchanged is the basic expansive nature of Jupiter and the malefic expression of this inherent quality can be far worse than the misfortunes attributed to Saturn. In fact, for Libra ascendants Saturn owns a trine and a quadrant and is the best planet: a raja yogakaraka, producer of auspicious yogas or combinations in such abundance that some Vedic astrologers consider Libra the best ascendant of all, bar none. But even that is only half the picture because these same considerations apply again from the moon, making astrological analysis and prediction a formidably difficult but endlessly fascinating and rewarding pursuit.

President Bush Goes to London By Isabelle Ghaneh

The old nursery rhyme ‘pussy cat pussy cat where have you been, I’ve been to London to look at the Queen, pussy cat pussy cat what did you there, I frightened a little mouse under her chair’ rang in my head when I read the news stories about President Bush’s impending visit to Tony Blair and Queen Elizabeth next week.

According to news reports, many Londoners are up in arms about the President’s visit and plan to protest his policies, especially the war in Iraq. On November 20, 2003 a protest group plans to topple a statue of Bush in Trafalgar Square. British security is planning to cordon off the protestors, much as they did in a 1999 visit of the Chinese premier to London. Needless to say the security preparations are not going over well with anyone, not Bush’s security people, Scotland Yard, or the Mayor of London, who is incensed that large parts of London may be blocked off to keep Bush away from the sight of the protestors

California Dreaming

By Isabelle Ghaneh

Arnold Schwarzenegger took office on November 17, 2003 at 11:21 A.M. in Sacramento, California. Astrologically what does his inauguration chart bode for him and his administration? The method of discernment is an election chart, a chart set up for the moment something begins or is birthed. It is in effect the birth chart for that undertaking or enterprise. As such, it can be progressed, have a solar return, and transits may be applied as time goes on.

FULL MOON/DARK MOON BY ISABELLE GHANEH

The Full Moon due to hit at 3:37 pm EDT December 8th, Monday, in the chart set locationally for Washington DC produces 28 degrees of Taurus rising. That’s an interesting degree. It falls between the two fixed stars Caput Algol and the Pleiades. It’s ruler, Venus, is straddling the cusp of the ninth house from it’s position in the eighth, the house of sex and death and taxes. Lilith the asteroid, (not the black moon) is at 3 degrees of Gemini conjunct the rising sign. Pluto and the Sun are conjunct in the seventh house of open enemies, opposite the moon in the first house.

What Did The Magi See? By Isabelle Ghaneh

I read an account recently on a major news internet site (1) of the possible source of the sighting of the Star of Bethlehem, the symbol that supposedly presaged Jesus Christ’s birth. Now a couple of things were interesting in the article. First, that astrology was included in the rational for the sighting, over that of comets or any other kind of space sighting. Second, that astrology and astrologers were accorded the respect they deserve, in that astrology was not dismissed in the article, and, third, the Magi were acclaimed as “priests who were astrologers”, which, of course, they were.

Governor John Rowland and Corrupticut,

By Isabelle Ghaneh

John Rowland, Republican Governor of Connecticut, or as it is being referred to in the Nutmeg State, Corrupticut, appears to be going down the same path, on a much smaller scale of course, that Richard Nixon Republican President of the United States did 30 years ago, in 1974. Every day new allegations against him are being reveled in the news media and a state commission has been selected to begin probing the possibility of impeachment proceedings. What is the Governor accused of ? Basically taking bribes in exchange for jobs, in short. Rowland’s version of bribes came not in cold hard cash, but in “presents“. Trips to exotic places, repair work on a summer cottage, dirt bikes, camping equipment, expensive wine cellars, and furniture are just some of the items accepted by Rowland over the years. In return, Rowland gave many state construction jobs to these gifters, and changed laws to benefit them and their companies. Allegedly. In addition, many members of his team and in high official positions in the State of Connecticut have been accused of either being the ones to make the bribes or of taking bribes themselves. The Commissioner of the State Public Works Department resigned, the State Treasurer was put in jail for taking bribes and the list goes on and on. One item in particular caught my interest; a public official given gold coins that he buried in his backyard. Did it come with a treasure map, I wondered? Considering all the brouhaha going on in Connecticut now, I thought it would be interesting to look at the astrological aspects of both Rowland himself and also the State of Connecticut.

The horoscope for the U.S.A. Constitution, (Sep. 17, 1787) was challenged last month by the Supreme Court decisions to move the Jose Padillo case to a lower court and to allow the other litigants challenging their arrests and detainments without counsel under the Patriot Act, the right to legal counsel and trial. However, they ruled without specifying just how the legal counsel and trials would take place. I guess that is up to Attorney General Ashcroft and his pals to figure out!

NIXON/BUSH BY LARRY SHEA

The 30th Anniversary of Nixon’s Resignation and
the Moment of Truth for GW Bush: Saturn’s Transit Conjoins the Natal Sun of Both the USA and George Bush

It is fair to say that nothing quite compels an individual or a nation to concentrate their attention more rigorously upon the defining events in their life and their times than a predictably sobering conjunction of transiting Saturn to their natal Sun. Just such a defining event manifested nearly thirty years ago on the afternoon of August 8, 1974 when an exact transit of Saturn to the USA’s natal Sun took place as a despondent and deeply disturbed Richard M. Nixon went on television, live from the White House, to announce to the nation and to the world his decision to resign from the office of the presidency; official at noon the following day. This unprecedented event was a deeply embarrassing moment in the history of the United States.

The Olympics, Old and New by Isabelle Ghaneh

“In 776 B.C. the first Olympic Games of ancient times were held, an institution which lasted 1,170 years, until 393 A.D. when they were banned as a pagan rite, by the Byzantine Emperor Theodosius the 1st. At first, only free Greek citizens were allowed to participate in the Olympic Games. Later, under the Roman Empire, all citizens of the Empire had the right to participate. The Games took place every 4 years, during the first full moon after the summer solstice. At first they lasted only one day, but as different sports were added, the time required to participate grew longer, reaching 5 days. While the Games were in progress the Ancient Greeks obeyed the rule of the Sacred Armistice, which meant the stopping of all hostilities and forbidding the execution of the death penalty. At first the Sacred Armistice lasted for a month, but later it lasted for three.” See: The Games in Ancient Greece

Was there a message in the opening of the Olympic Games?

While this isn't an Astrological Essay, it is an essay of thoughtful reflections and beautiful symbolism regarding one of the events of the day. It was written by Christina Von Neiling an Astrologer in Buenos, Aires, Argentina. news@thecamino.com.ar

Usually I would not post an essay that was not astrological however I thought this was worth doing so at this time.

I think that what we saw in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece was one of the most powerful messages pointing to a change in human history.

The message was full of symbols. Personally, the first one was a feeling I had weeks before, thinking that this is the last Olympic Games we will see in our current lifetime.

Notes From The Underground by Isabelle Ghaneh

The chart for the Equinox, set for the nation’s capital, is interesting in the fact that the Moon is exactly opposite Mars, and at a critical degree, 29, in Cancer and Capricorn respectively. Looking at the chart it is interesting that Aries, the sign that belongs to this season, is intercepted and the Sun, Venus, Mercury (retrograde) and the North Node are all located in the 12th house of what is hidden and unconscious. It will be interesting to see what happens both politically and nationally this season, since so much energy is going underground, in a way.

The Equinox is officially the start of the new year in many religions, both organized and earth based, since spring heralds the new birth of the year. Aries is the sign represented by the soaring into spring motif and as such it incorporates all those qualities of newness: rashness impatience impulsiveness selfishness and also energy drive desire and enormous zest for life and all it has to offer.

Life Is But A Dream: The Sign of the Fish and the Progressed U.S. Chart

by Isabelle Ghaneh

In the progressed U.S. chart the Sun is now in Pisces at zero degrees, the beginning of the sign and a power point, since zero of any sign is at its strongest. In addition the asteroid Vesta the keeper of home and hearth is at zero degrees of Gemini the sign of the twins. These two placements are square to each other. They are not operating together on a harmonious basis, and are not on the same wavelength., though they are both dualistic signs, mutable in fact, with two fish swimming in opposite directions for Pisces and two people, namely twins for Gemini.

For the progressed chart in its entirety, Leo the sign of royalty is on the ascendant and is at 25 degrees, using the time given for the Sibly chart which is 5:10 p.m. in Philadelphia, PA for July 4, 1776. The progressed ascendant has been in Leo for quite awhile, but its ruler, the Sun, has just changed hands, from eclectic humanitarian Aquarius, to the sign of the 12th house, mystical Pisces.

Introduction to Vedic Astrology

I would like to introduce you to Gary Gomes a well known lecturer, teacher and writer of Vedic Astrology. For the next 5 weeks I will be featuring one of Gary's tutorials in Vedic Astrology.

Western and Eastern Astrology is a vast subject, taking years of study to understand the complexity, richness and vast landscape Astrology covers in knowing the past, to better understand the present and move into the future. Knowing a little Vedic Astrology has been of great help to me, particularly in predictions.

Before I move to the rest of Gary's article, I would like to share something with you that Vis sent me today regarding Katrina. I thought it to be brilliant insight

"You recall how I did all that work on the TNO's, and especially Varuna? Well, Varuna, in US history, was a ship used in the Civil War, it went down in New Orleans, sunk by the South. I've always remembered that, because Varuna is atop Bush's chart, and it's what he'll be remembered for, above and beyond 9/11 or Iraq."

Now on with Gary's Vedic introduction, it's quite long and much to digest, but I promise you will enjoy it on your Astrological Journey.

2006 PREDICTIONS

THESE ARE PREDICTIONS BY SOME OF OUR POSTERS.

One thing I didn't say was the "Presidency is in the long night" that started in December and really gets going mid-February. So much to this year and I "predictions" will keep growing.

This first set is by M

My Predictions For 2006

I agree Karl Rove will be Indicted, and the door is open for others too.

John Bolton will fall as far as possible into disgrace, a long over due kick in the A double S.

Dick Cheney is gone this year, one way or the other

The AIPAC spy trial and investigation will come to the forefront and be shocking to most Americans, making them furious.

The Abramoff scandal will explode. Not only members of congress and their aides be caught in its web, but so called moral leaders as well, it won’t be just Reed.

The country will begin really roiling with anger around Sept. about money. It will be a culmination of heating bills, gas prices, money spent in Iraq, the costs of medication and skyrocketing interests rates for credit cards,( the usury of the cc companies now being plain to see.)

Secrets, secrets, secrets coming out. Just how far the secret government set up by Cheney has usurped our democracy. He will be the fall guy for much that went wrong. At least they will try to pass the buck to him.

What I am mostly feeling, and have for some time, is something of a cataclysmic nature coming. Don’t know what but it will cause, to quote Claudia Dikinis, the great unraveling, a loathing that will protect us from this happening again. I think of the vodiennes in New Orleans humming, their soft call for justice and their disdain for the man who claimed what he thinks is a crown and surrounded himself with sycophants and evil chancellors. There is a light coming and it is not the rupture of a rapture, but a soft, gentle beam that doesn’t need a booming voice to proclaim its power. It will wrap itself around us and we will feel the blessing as if in a dream. But that will be the waking, the true reality and an end to the nightmare. Don’t know when it will come, perhaps after more than enough voices are raised in prayer. But come it will and make its presence known in ways we would never expected. So look for the signs, as they are even now appearing. They are the little dots that give us hope and cause us to know that despite everything, all will be right.

MORE 2006 AW PREDICTIONS

It's exciting to have so many AW posters dig deep for their own 2006 Predictions. I thought you would all enjoy reading some of the latest. I don't think I will post the "Prediction" links from other sites, these are simply the predictions, either astrologically or psychically from our readers, I am posting as I receive either from the site or by email. Sorry, I don't edit at all.

One note on Sharon, several years ago in a class I was taking the instructor said when predicting death, always remember "no matter how negative the aspects might be, death will not occur unless both luminaries are covered by a planet, in the natal, progressed, Solar Arc and Solar Return." Sharon fills all this criteria. Now sometimes the "cover" is an inconjunct, semi-sextile, septile, quintile etc. but both luminaries must be covered or crossed by an aspect.

When Sharon came to power as head of the Lukid Government it was a good omen for the Bush Administration and a bad omen for the US, his effective removal (and he is gone mentally, physically or both) reverses that, it's bad for the Bush Administration and good for the US.

Sometime within the next 18 months there will be shocking information coming forward regarding the people responsible for 9/11. The countries and agencies involved will stun everyone.

On With our Readers Predictions

Where's the Much-Needed Furious Storm?

by Lynda Hill from http://sabiansymbols.typepad.com/

Well, the Saturn degree of GW Bush could hardly be more apt - Cancer 27: The Furious Storm in a Canyon Filled With Valuable Homes. Of course, all homes are 'valuable' to those who inhabit them and quite a few have been devastated or destroyed under his tenure.

As I said in my previous blog entry, I hope that in the not-too-distant future there will be a Furious Storm around GWB, and his actions, and those of his cronies, will be revealed. Perhaps the retrograde motion of Mercury back and forth over this degree will stir something up. I didn't consciously have any idea of floods happening along the east coast of the U.S. when I started writing this... but I see that hundreds of thousands of people have had to evacuate their homes on the east coast and Washington DC's monuments are closed.

THE PROGRESSED SUN IN THE US CHART

THIS IS AN ARTICLE BY LYNN HAYES. VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE

Part I: 1945-1975

The progressed chart shows the evolution of the individual - although the natal chart, or birthchart, remains the same the progressed chart describes life changes that occur as we age and grow. The progressed Sun changes signs every 30 years, and the US Progressed Sun had been in Aquarius since April of 1975 following a stint in Capricorn. (Chart used is the US Sibley chart.)

The passage of the US Capricorn progressed Sun, from November 1945 through April 1975, beginning with the end of World War II and initiating a nationwide building period that expanded middle-class affluence throughout the country (unless you were African-American, but that's another story). The GI bill made housing affordable for more and more families, and communities of tract housing such as Levittown sprang up across the country, beginning the suburban sprawl that would ultimately increase our dependence on automobiles and foreign oil.

State of emergency in Pakistan

PLEASE GIVE A BIG WELCOME TO LYNN HAYES

The nation of Pakistan was created when a Muslim state was carved out of India at a time when Saturn and Pluto were tightly conjunct in Leo, with Mercury, Venus and the Sun also in Leo forming a tight stellium of five planets in Leo within a 15 degree range. Leo is concerned with self-expression and recognition, and all five Leo planets are placed in the fourth house of home and ancestry showing that most of the affairs of this nation take place within its borders rather than on the international stage.

OBAMA'S ANNOUNCEMENT CHART

THIS IS A NEW ARTICLE FROM LYNN (MONSON) HAYES Lynn posts from time to time and sends articles once in a while. She's added some comments I made regarding this chart below, hopefully to give a broader picture to astrologers regarding event charts. I do think the Obama Announcement Chart more clearly mirrors the fact that his campaign ceased to be a campaign and became a "movement" in American politics. It's the beginning of a movement that will ultimately shift this government no matter whether he wins or not. Welcome Lynn and her fine delineation of his announcement chart. http://astrodynamics.blogspot.com/2008/02/obamas-announcement-chart.html

SCOTTIE

A TERRIFIC NEW ARTICLE BY LYNN HAYES REGARDING SCOTT MCCLELLAN

Scott McClellan is not the first Bush insider to write an expose of the disaster that is the Bush presidency, but he is the most surprising. James Hoopes, author of Hail to the CEO: The Failure of George W. Bush and the Cult of Moral Leadership says that Bush is the target of more tell-all books than any other American president including books by former terrorism czar Richard Clark, Treasury secretary Paul O'Neill, and David Kuo, former head of Bush's faith-based initiatives.

Scott McClellan was the ultimate loyalist: the good soldier who admired the way George Bush had drawn together a bipartisan government in Texas and began serving as deputy communications director back in 1999 when Bush was still Governor. As press secretary he dutifully did his job as presidential spokesliar (® Stephanie Miller) but if you looked carefully you could see he wasn't cut out for that job. Unlike Ari Fleischer, who was smooth and silky as he delivered the cooked-up messages given to him by the Bush White House, McClelland was stiff and visibly uncomfortable

AUGUST 1 SOLAR ECLIPSE

LINDA HILL'S ECLIPSE ARTICLE

There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope. Bern Williams

One may not reach the dawn save by the path of the night. Kahlil Gibran

The darkest hour is just before dawn. Thomas Fuller

The morning pouring everywhere, its golden glory on the air. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

This month's new moon is a total eclipse of the Sun. Occurring on August 1, the path of the Moon's umbral shadow begins in Canada and extends across northern Greenland, the Arctic, central Russia, Mongolia, and China. A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes northeastern North America, most of Europe and Asia.(See NASA's site for more details).
