My heart goes out to all the states and people hit by that storm. I watched the clips of the tornado and have never seen anything like it. I cannot imagine what those people are going to do, start again I guess like we always do. 2 Young Women; Naima from Haiti, & Alixa from Columbia, now in Brooklyn, but touring around the country in a vegetable oil powered car............reciting their Onomatopoeia, & wonderful word play to drive home a serious message..........."the revolution starts here and the weapon is love, understanding, oneness......They told me they are seeing an increased awareness as they retrace their steps. The last revolution began in Machias.......appears to be a rerun!

Sally, this piece kept coming back to me throughout the day yesterday in images. That is re-viewing all the manifestations in the streets of Cairo, all the ME citizens who are demanding change in force. I vision the people of the US beginnning to get it. And apparently May 1 there were several labor marches throughout the country. None of it televised.

Also as a result, I may have had a dream with a symbols of this re-viewing. In seven to ten days there will be a significant birth. It was symbolized by an extremely white bundle of lamb's wool.

Oh dear companions-I am using a computer almost as old as I am and could not get in but this morning whee here I am.

For all of us who love symbols and use them to guide our path: my sister's birthday 4/22/1948 fell on Good Friday this year and she passed in the midst of the Hieros Gamos of our age 4/29/2011 at 7:42 AM CT. I just love it-she comforted her born-again son by accepting Jesus Grace before she left and she Saluted Our Mother as she exited. What class and elegance. I miss her and always will although I know that in time I will grow accustomed to missing her.

Oh!! Morgana please forgive me for praising Sally for your latest although Sally always deserves all the praise we can offer still YOU wrote this latest one. I know that you know that I am not totally grounded right now.
I am HOME and grieving harder for Buffy than I did even while sitting with her as she made her transition. Here where we lived as family I am confronted with the thoroughness of death and the can of ashes spook me in the way her body never could.
I could hardly wait to crank up the old machine and open my heart, mind and door to you my dear,dear Astorworld companions. Even with the grief I am so grateful to be home and so grateful to have you all as friends and companions.
My sister made her transition right in the middle of the Hieros Gamos of our age-the royal nuptials and her birthday fell on Good Friday this year. I probably already said this to you but oh my!! that means so much to me ( we of course were not actually watching the nuptials but I am conscious of the timing.)
While flying home today I fell asleep and dreamed that "we" all my natal family including our Aquarius grandfather (paternal) who always lived with us were all together in our old house not the one we actually lived in but ours none the less and everyone was waving to me and there was a river and a huge oak tree and everyone was waving to me as I flew by and there was a huge rainbow.
I am not making this up. I take it as a gift from all my root folk,sister,parents,grandfather and all the traditions that have nurtured us and all of those, names now lost, who have nurtured that mighty river and oak tree.
Enough now. I am going about cleaning house and bringing my own sense of order to our daily with a gratitude for ordinary daily life that I never had before.

My Chiron conjs my Mars, which rules my 6th hse. This conj is the wound. I have CFS! My Sun conj Neptune in 12 is the major healer, with Scorpio Rising hands the minor. I'm in a healing profession and am a REIKI Master

Recently I ran across a young woman with Chiron opposite Mars. Mars ruling her 10th hse. The wound! She has terminal cystic fibrosis. She has Cancer rising with a conj Moon. The healer. She is in a healing profession and although young appears to be a natural.

We both are driven to heal, and we both struggle to find the energy.

Have ya'll seen this pattern?

Also: The Chiron opposite Mars is part of a T-Square with the empty 2nd hse being the relief of. An arrow would shoot the 2nd hse. I'm not use to T-Squares. I don't have a practice. To find the energy to relieve the T-Square, in an empty hse, would one study the ruling planet? Would one study Venus?

This young woman is terminal unless she gets a lung transplant. I'd like to help her with her chart and her karma.

Regarding the dollar: Jim Willie is still calling for a Nordic Euro, sans the pigs, to replace the currently filling apart Euro. The currently falling apart Euro has given the dollar a temporary boost. Jim Sinclair said the dollar would stop short of 72 on the USDX, pop up due to the Euro and then continue below 72. I've found Jim Willie and Jim Sinclair to be ahead of the game, accurately.

Jim Sinclair has said the dollar will not go to zero, but has not currently said how low it will go.

For you silver buffs, silver dropped due to outrageous raises in margin at the comex. Those who raise margins, and benefit from them, sit on the board of the comex.

Buying on margin means you only put a percentage down to control a silver contract. The raises in margin were to make margin buying too expensive for those going long silver. Losing to those going short drops the price of silver.

This has not been done in any other commodity.

Timmy-are you looking to the second house for possible resources for the lung transplant? At any rate always look to the ruler of the sign on the the cusp of the house and to the "condition" of that ruler meaning aspects especially to the planets involved in the T-square.
By the way I also have a Chiron T-square: Mars in the 4th oppose Chiron in the 7th and both are square Saturn in the 4th.

Timmy J-I just reread what you wrote and I must be honest and say that I don't understand karma at all because i truly don't understand what was before I awakened as myself. I do remember reading a Zen teacher talking about this advising that we be like the pine nut one falls in perfect conditions and grows into a mighty pine and another falls in the cracks of a boulder and still never the less grows although never to be a mighty pine.

I have found this book, ( given me by a friend a decade ago; BTW, just when T Chiron opposed my natal, T Jupiter conjuncted it, & T Mars made a fast run sq to it through Aries, then conjuncted my Venus, Mercury, & Saturn)( 2002), is excellent

That trio of planets was on my Saturn, on Thurs I went to the Dr. & got antibiotics for a sinus, throat, chest, infection.......& I who never get sick; don't sleep if I can avoid it, "so much to do so little time", have slept for the past 3 days............I try to do something muzzy headed weak as a kitten and soon the nearest flat surface beckens, sofa, floor, bed...& I take another nap. Stranger still I have had back pains that resemble labor pains.......???????? I think I am going though the shift?

This isn't good folks, towns and the richest farmland in the country being wiped out, not much different than the depression and dust bowls only it's water. I have lived through Mississippi floods (nothing like this) and they are powerful floods.

Karen is right, we think we are in charge and all powerful ourselves, we are not and we ultimately control nothing, absolutely nothing. Astro roots are in Aries and Taurus, the same as the dust bowl, with Jupiter in Taurus and Uranus in Aries, only it's not dust, it's water. In 1929/30 Neptune just entered Virgo (opposite Neptune now) Saturn was in Capricorn, Pluto in Cancer. Run the numbers yourselves, they tell the story.

Across the country we stand in numb silence or our head in the sand not knowing what to do, what town or state to help. It's just a mess and it's going to be a mess for at least 15 days before the water kind of runs its course and hopefully there isn't any more rain to give folks some time for a little clean-up.

How's everyone doing? Today is supposed to be the end of the world, I have not experienced that as yet. I was pleased to note that in spite of all the advertising people in this part of the world weren't concerned, in fact it wasn't even a topic of conversation. I've wondered if the guy who predicted it is disappointed or happy he was wrong, most everyone else would be pretty happy. So give thanks to the cosmos for today that it didn't all come crashing down on us, heaven knows there are a lot of people trying to make that happen.

Well my beloved companions today was supposed to be the Rapture and that would make us the ones left behind and Armageddon is supposed to be starting now and will continue until sometime in October this year.
So beautiful friends we are "left behind". The man who runs this church is worth tens of millions and that brought to mind the Jesus reference to rich men and camels and needles but then I would now wouldn't I? The tornados keep coming across the country. Tonight Minneapolis and Joplin, MO seemed to be the hardest. Joplin is about 50 to 55 thousand people and 75 percent of the town was wiped out, think of that 75 percent. Minneapolis was also hard hit but not like Joplin. I am heart sick tonight, Joplin is situated in the 4 state reagon, which included, Kansas, MO, AK and OK it's about 30 miles from where I grew up in Kansas. I received a couple of phone calls tonight that two of my childhood friends were killed. My energy and light go out to all the people suffering from the recent horrible flooding in the south, for the people suffering from the recent tornados and to the "rapture" people, the end of the world has come to many over the last couple of months and I believe they have landed in a good place. Dear Sally and Pat (QOP)I slept in this morning and didn't hear about Joplin until later and this is where I headed Knowing that people would gather here and discuss things.
Sally I had a childhood connection to Joplin in that I had a friend who moved back there from our little corner of Kansas.
I am shocked by the huge swath of destruction these twisters are- so huge and remain so long on the ground. Very unlike the tornados I heard about in the 50's although the news announcer said that this is the worst since.
Pat you have so much focused energy that I would like to send you to Joplin to help rebuild-just kiddin'but really you are such an inspiration.

Horrible, yes, horrible. Storms through here this past spring have been the most intense I have ever seen anywhere, yet still there are those who remain staunch in the desire to strip more away, dig deeper and keep pumping toxins into the air and water.

There are so many economic factors pushing the planet and its inhabitants to the brink. The careless disregard has all the marks of psychopathic behaviors. My question to you, Sally or Morgana, is about generational astrology. Are there "marks" of the delusional? What would they be? Many of the above economic shenanigans began after WWII, and increased in scope and complexity, such as derivitive trading, etc.

We are all paying the price for this folly, and those who believe themselves removed from will pay the highest price, maybe sooner than they would wish.

I've noted Karen that so many of these things have been tagged as 100 year storms and earthquakes and volcano's etc. Going back it would seem that it is generational. I heard a man say last night that several catagory 5 tornado's and storms hit every years in the south but almost all of them are on farm land and in the woods and places where there isn't any population so it does not get coverage. I know that's true because I grew up in Tornado Alley like Joplin and all the area around there and we did have horrific storms that would take down a barn or two and some crops, but didn't make it to town. Well now there are more people, more people having built on flood planes, earthquake zones, ancient storm paths and the whole thing becomes devestating.

Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all hitting points of a 100 years ago and the Uranus, Pluto square has not been around for quite some time, well it's here now and in an applying square to the US Venus, which rules the 6th and 10th house in the US chart and itself resides in the 8th in Cancer, the sign of "home" in an astrological chart. So yes I would absolutely say "generational."

You are right Pat, lots of memories passing for me in this storm. I do want to say that Joplin was a very pretty town, very quaint as all the towns around that area have been, with wonderful old houses and buildings built in the 1800's. I have keenly felt the pain of those further south who have suffered tornados and flooding and today I wonder if it was because I felt this coming. Just a couple of days ago the awful tornado that hit my little town several years ago crossed my mind and I suddenly thought they might get one again, and my hope was they would not, then the next day this hit Joplin which is mighty close in tornado miles. A close friend of mine in Springfield, MO is spending the day trying to get a hold of several of our friends who live in Joplin, so far she has not been able to get through.

The earth seems to be cleaning herself out, and she has been doing that since the massive Turkey earthquake in 1999, back to the Aug. 1999 eclipse, sweeping us up and it's such a painful time for so many people. There are very few places that have not been struck in a dramatic manner, very few folks not impacted in one way or another. For sure the strength of people are being forced upon this earth. I am counting on all of this to restore our faith in ourselves and the human race.

The one thing about outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) they remove what you don't need to self-actualize and eventually put something better in its place, even if it's the end of our earthly journey.

Harold Camping has released a statement about the May 21st Rapture date that has come and passed. Camping has stated a slight miscalculation due to an oversight in his readings. The Rapture is still coming very, very soon.

Well, he raised $100 million on his prediction, I expect this little miscalculation will get him another $50 million at least.

I often receive spiritual gifts at Christmas time but this year I received such a gift on my Solar Return.
Since my sister passed away I have been thinking of death and feeling anxiety because I don't know what death is and I am frightened of the current belieef that says "there is nothing. That's it! Lights out! So I was in my kitchen on the the day that the Solar Return occurred:5/24/2011 and I was doing kitchen chores (family here this week) and these thoughts of death were floating around in my consciousness and suddenly I just "knew" that just as I was welcomed and supported and encouraged when I was born and I have always "known" this so I will have that same Something when I die. I almost floated to the ceiling so liberating was this thought and my physical acceptance of this thought. I know that I will be loved and encouraged and supported by this Something in which I live and move and have my being. This was given freely to me and I am sharing it for anyone who resonates to this thought. I don't even need everyone to have the same need right now just to know what I know now is enough for me. Clymela what a wonderful experience. 30 years ago I read an editorial in the paper and it was beautifully written as a birth experience, what it was like, the pain the problems and then the joyful welcome of the new baby. At the end of the article one realized it was a death not a birth but the experience was the same and it changed my mind about death all together and I started researching it. I wish I had kept it (lord I save so much paper you wouldn't believe it) but it got tossed out on one of my moves. How wonderful that you had that experience and that knowledge was given to you. I look on death as a move to another home.

fun article Pat about Voodoo. Voodoo is just a name attached by "humans" to explain something they don't get. All words are. It is very much like Catholic and probably assigned the word Voodoo to a practice they didn't understand. I grew up a Protestant and I remember Catholic being a scarey religion to the Protestant with all the saints and spirits and the blood and body of Christ, no understanding at all only fear just as Catholic and Protestants had a fear of anything that was not in words and practice something they understand. In spite of the "religious right" I do think we are moving away from all that fear, hope so anyway, and the spirits, angels, guides, saints whatever one calls them can indeed help us when we can get ourselves out of the way.

Today is Memorial Day and I have been up since 4AM: F1 racing from Monaco and then pancakes made and eaten and then Indy 500. The sounds of racing are Memorial Day to me-my father listened to the race on the radio after we had been to the graveyard and put the wonderful peonies on the graves and my friends showed me their family's graves and I showed them ours and strangers came and we bought poppies from them and other strangers played Taps and shot rifles.
I pulled out my father's WWII formal portrait and dusted it and went through some of my sister's belongings.Can't get to the graveyard(s) since they are everywhere now and the old people who taught me to honor the dead are of course gone now.
Love you and I loved having so much to read today and I love reading those who can call a "spade a spade" and look Life in the face even if it kills us in the end.

i can't feel so smug about my level of spiritual development-perhaps I understand some things but god surely knows that I am here in this body on this planet at this time because this is exactly where and what I am NOW.
I have spent time with my family many of whom are exactly opposite of me in political and spiritual understanding-voting against all that I love and yet I know how much they have done for those they love how hard they work and how committed they are to the love they have for the people in their lives. Hey guys thank you all for your birthday wishes both here and there and emails too! It's been crazy busy lately. I'm working on the Solstice chart so we'll have something new up here. I'm about. :)

Yesterday's eclipse knocked this Gemini on her butt. There were some issues but what the big thing was that I felt as though I was in some type of psychic intensity chamber-everything went down multiplied into infinity and I did have some verifiable psychic experiences including issues that are not really that big-I felt like those little scenes were previews. I was very tired at the end of day-not afraid but worn out. i am writing this out to you because I never have had this sort of thing in my experience of reality before. In the big plan I don't think that my reading a letter from an old friend BEFORE I receive the letter is that important but having the experience is a BIG deal in my life.
I was filled to the brim with feelings of love for all those walking and talking before me thinking of things I have read from Buddhist teachings.

Watch the mutable signs at 11 degrees, there is an eclipse upon them. We can see some of the results of that eclipse with Japan, as it was within a degree and a half of a conjunction, (applying) I haven't found Joplin's incorporation chart but I suspect it came pretty close there as well. We are bracketed between two Eclipses, one now and one July 1st at 9 degrees Cancer. We forget from one thing to another, we forget that Japan was just a few months ago as Joplin and the flooding takes their place in our minds, but the last six months leading into these eclipes have been incredible as will the next six months. Right now and actually for the last several years mother earth has been house cleaning, and we are still moving toward a huge change in consciousness. I don't like change but I have noticed I get a bit more authentic with the changes over my life here and I bet you feel the same way about your lives. We grasp more, understand more, become more empathic, and stronger. I read an article by an astrologer that said
"brace yourselves and stay in your truth over this next year for the changes coming our way." I think I would have phrased that more like "embrace yourselves and others as you move into the changes."

Here in Denver, the foot of the Rockies it is an absolutely lovely day this June. Warm weather, birds singing, butterflies flying; just lovely. Finally we have warm weather and no rain, it's been such a cold May, so this feels good to the over a million people who live on the front range and while we are basking in the yin we are completely oblivious to the yang brewing just a very few miles away. The record snow pack in the mountains of Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming are rapidly melting under this warm sun and way too much water is rushing downstream with record floods being forcasted for all downstream folks like us here at the foot of the rockies; proving the old adage that what is fertilizer to some is crap to others. Ah, there is no perfection only perception, and I am completely enjoying my perception of it being a lovely day today.

We are sandwiched here between two solar eclipses with the promise of a lunar eclipse on June 15th exactly in between. Timing is everything. Some of us across the world will be impacted in a negative way and will be rightfully so "renting our garments" while others of us will be singing "it's a lovely day today." No one is immune to Mother Nature's blessings or her wrath and they will all come approximately the same time. The backed up eclipses will heavily impact the month of May (past thank heavens) June and July. The positive is people will be busy planting home and community gardens as food prices soar and folks become more and more cautious over imported fruits and vegatables. Commodities I think will be the biggest speculative investments plus metals as Wall Street and friends become more and more nervous over the seemingly failing dollar. Predictably, the crazies in Washington become crazier. One of these days Washington, thumping their leadership breasts for each other, will look outside and find no one is following, no one cares, and no one is impressed. They've become clowns in their own "home." We could send them some seeds so they can start planting their own family garden, we could afford to give them some time to "spend with their family."

This summer is a great time for all of us to "count our blessings instead of sheep." And it's a lovely day today at the foot of the Rockies, hope it's lovely where you are.

Oh Sally I can only thank you for your words and thoughts. Here in the SF Bay Area i can only say wah,wah,wah!! Moe cold wet weather forecast although we are promised that dry weather starts after Tuesday although not until the rain has ruined the cherries. I spent a lot of money to get the cherries that has come in as I do every year because the the time of ripe,fat cherries is short and this year I know that the season will be even shorter.
Still I am grateful for the little preview I had the other day of just how immense reality truly is. Never had an eclipse hit so hard-I think it must have hit close to the midpoint of the my Gemini Sun//Mercury conjunction with my Neptune thrown in and moon in Leo too.It just got my attention and truly humbled me as I got a whiff of the immensity of creation and reality-you know just a little, tiny whiff so that I didn't just explode into atoms, electrons and neutrons and then lose all effectiveness on this plane.

Great to be back and tune into all the activity here. Being away is often instructive, and this trip was no exception. The space away from the constant media harp sharpened my focus.

I noticed several things on my trip. People have become more disconnected from one another, and the dialogue has devolved into sound bites.

Those who are currently profiting -- the insurance, banking, and other related industries -- make NO goods. Those who, for example, grow, pick and get food to the grocery shelves are merely laborers. I use this example because every single person depends upon going to the local grocer to purchase food. Yet, many are whole-ly disconnected from those who labored to get it there, and disconnected from the earth, and her necessary inhabitants (bees, for example). Thus, the new paradigm introduced by Reagan (break the unions and give more to wealth) has been perfected.

The above is unraveling. And those who have bought into the above -- those who believe themselves better than others, or more privileged -- are screaming the loudest.

Went to Joshy's take out for a cheeseburger for dinner.....a man at the window was asking what are "wet nuts" ( listed as sundae toppings) Ahhah, he's from "far away" not just "away". They are walnuts in syrup, everywhere that I have been for the past 70 years!......
The couple were from St Louis MO, had toured the lower Maine coastline and Washington County round trip was their last bit of vacation. I convinced them they needed to come to the Margaretta Days festival./re-enactment in Machias on Sat & Sun.; captured their imagination with the story of the 1st naval battle of the Revolutionary War ( They had not heard of it)
then having knocked their planned schedule out of kilter, I invited them to the house so I could contact my friend Vern the PR manager for Roosevelt International Park to check Sunday hours, and google other stuff.
AS they came into the kitchen he said "Oh is that a brook?" "No," I replied, "it's a tidal stream that goes out to the bay around that hill." And she said "Oh there's a deer! This is a paradise". ( they are coming daily now, down to the salt marsh for the fresh spring grass.)
They loved my paintings, and bought a Machias Patriots book, and said they "couldn't get over how friendly everyone is in Maine, the whole state!"
I will keep that in my mind today, "paradise", as I am executing the difficult physical challenge of painting the 8' x 4' mural panel up on the table leaned against the wall. Sit on the table to paint then climb down to step back and look! All this without hot water as my HW heater quit the other day...........boiling water on the stove to wash the dishes AND paint brushes! AT least the panel will pay for the new hot water heater, once it is finished.and the planets could be in Capricorn..........which would be truly depressing! LMAO!

QOP, thank YOU for the links. Didn't watch Wilcox, but read Matthew (more on that). And, the Wisconsin news is actionable. Meaning, the unions MUST get activated to prevent the kind of tampering sure to occur during both the recall and elections. Hopefully, I'l find something out later today and post those links. Maybe be can all lend our support either vocally, or otherwise.

Matthew posts continue to be consistent, and one reason why I pay attention to what's being transcribed. On a personal level, my own diet has changed considerably over the past five years or so, not that I ate badly before, but now certain things do not appeal to me thus I've found myself eating far more vegetables, greens, fruits and less and less meat -- even the humanely-produced, organics. As a result of considerable weight loss, my health is better and I have more energy.

Another apsect Matthew hits on -- a subject that could be explored in so many ways -- is the intentional divisions being created via the power-backed media. Creating focus on inconsequential "news" ala Weiner, et al, while shadowing the information we really need to know -- for instance the recent cyber-warfare activities, what corporate entity(s) is benefitting in Libya, Afghanistan, etc. What laws are now being framed to further disenfranchise?

You know that I was moved a few months back to go back to the vegetarian ways that I followed in the 70's although with much less fat and dairy than I ate in my 20's and I have really lost weight while also feeling better. Lately I am wanting LOTS of salad and fresh fruit which I suppose has to do with the season.

Clymela, interesting isn't it, as though our very physical bodies are being altered to keep pace with the increased tempo of the times. I still grieve over the events leading up to my sister's death. It's now been three years, and some of those moments remain fresh as though I'm supposed to look more closely at some aspect I may missing. The grief can enter some very dark personal rooms. There are reasons, and I trust they'll reveal themselves.

Powerful vision last night regarding the planet's consciousness. The Earth is sentinent, and the phrase "starship" does not do it justice. Perhaps "mother" does, but we know so little about the awareness, personality, purpose, or the Earth's part in the cosmos itself. We can speculate, but my own active imagination is limited to what perhaps is the "alien" consciousness of Earth.

My 9 yr old Grandson had his "moving up" ceremony at school yesterday & was already worrying about 4th grade. On the 2nd floor, harder lessons...........

My husband is doing well, still struggling with quitting smoking. Getting older sucks, not for sissies.

This is Sally's chemo week she is doing well and I'm sure she'll be back posting in a few days.

I'm doing pretty good, one foot in front of the other, one day at a time, dogged determination not to be flattened by the series of semi's racing down my personal highway to mow me down. Life is tough all the way around. If it's not finances, illness, businesses failing, tornadoes, storms, floods in epic proportions, earthquakes, tsunami's, solar storms, mass oceanic extinctions (thank you BP)it's the politics of a divided nation where hate is breeding in cesspools of racism, and religious intolerance. The I liked that Keith Olbermann premiered his new show on the Solstice, Obama draws down the War(s) on the Solstice..and of course the constant drivel from Silly Sarah and batty Bachmann.

Oh!1 wonderful to hear from everyone today. Morgana I used Nicorette to get off the cigarettes-money well spent. It worked for me; the patches left me craving cigarettes all the time but the gum that I could use to take the urge to smoke away really did it for me. My love and light to both of you as our dear companion pointed out-he is struggling and no doubt so are you as you both head down the wedded path in "sickness and in health".
Dear leader,Sally, hope that you can be back with us soon. I have renewed relations with a school friend and again I am amazed by the toughness and energy of us, the Kansas daughters and women. WOW to our willingness to get in there and "DO" whatever is necessary to get where we need to go.

I am so moved that New York has agreed to allow people who are in love and want to be together to marry. I suspect that the biggest barrier to same sex marriage has been the economic issues-pensions/insurance/SocialSecurity/property both real and personal.
I was amazed at a map that showed the states that have voted to not allow same-sex marriages-I didn't realize that there was so much opposition.

Another year, another Town Meeting! And what a loopy loo-luu it was!6 or 8 Tea-baggers were there primed to change the way the town is run! It is unfathomable to me how their brains work (OR DON'T)
They decided that we should have 5 selectmen instead of 3, and get rid of our excellent Town
Manager who does a great job with a very sharp pencil. My property taxes have only risen $240. in the 20 years I have lived here. Since they tripled in NJ in only 11 years,& my income is about 1/5 of what it was then, & static for the last 3 years, I really appreciate that! The meeting itself was proof positive that 5 Selectmen running things would be a total DISASTER! The Master mind, my neighbor across the stream called last night to solicit my vote. He does everything according to the book, good process,but somehow at the end of it the result falls off a cliff.? My BGF was also running for Selectman, & she was too modest to make the GOTV calls, but word got around & she won by a 2/3 margin hands down!
In a way I was a little sorry tonight that I told him he had a wolf on his backhill..........
Yes there is a wolf; killed a fawn down in the salt marsh Sat last. Fortunately I missed the kill, but saw it dragging the carcuss up into the woods! The arrival of a 4' bald eagle on the scene to share in the spoils confirmed it for sure. The rest of the deer moved on.....nobody down there this week!
Back to the meeting tonight........we averted the 5 selectman & the Tea bagger as selectman, but when they started picking apart the pros & cons & OMG the allergies,the article about our Town manager being able to bring his golden retriever to the office, ( merely a legal formality) I had to go outside & scream & have a cigarette! 1/2 the people left at that point!
Being a responsible citizen I went back in & if I said we double timed it last year..this year it wasn't as humid & we went even faster through the remainder of the 51 articles.! Sun exact opposition to Pluto hasn't come yet ( after midnight) but was close enough for Govt. work.

Earlier in the day, we had a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new affordable fisherman's farm workers apt building, funded by the USDA. It's the first in Maine, & the apartments are BEAUTIFUL, architect did a great job! I'm thinking of switching from Art to clam digging so I will be eligible to live there.

When she decided that they would be evicted if they did other work ( blueberry raking, making xmas wreaths) Since the factory schedule depended on the catch not always good, there were downtimes with no income. The local Sp/ENG non profit applied for a grant from USDA & GOT IT! The tea baggers nitpicked a fantasy legal challenge & got the town sued by the USDA, fortunately mediated by an expert team of lawyers. All this is reflected in the charts if you want to take a look.

qop, I served on a township board and there were always the same people talking about the same thing, one subject. The cemetary, and how its upkeep was critical to the community's image. hahahahahahahahahaha

Anyway, the above perpetrators were absolutely disruptive, rude and unscrupulous (probably tea baggers now). I suggested an ammendment to council meeting rules. It was passed with a hands-up "aye." The rule? When it was time for citizen input, the speaker had five minutes, No more. That helped a great deal. However, I became MORE of a target in that nightmare town. Not fun.

Cemetary upkeep critical......"youbetcha" as important as making sure those fetuses make it to full term.

Yes, citizen's input 5 min.; voting for that, is how we started the meeting. Last year this group took us by surprise, this year we were ready to deal with them. Polite but Visible signals of disgust and disapproval, from the pragmatic, common sense, based,majority, caused them to give up and leave early seeing they were not going to get what they wanted. So refreshingly different from DC or TV!
The town is running pretty darn well, we have a surplus our budget, little crime, large sense of community, .....Lewis is a damned good Town Manager,& Chief of Police, "if it ain't broke don't fix it."
