The Cancer Sun initiates a Grand Cardinal Cross with a Grand Water Trine lending its weight to this Summer Season of political unrest and the specter of a severe hurricane season with the Gulf of Mexico full of Texas Tea. The Sun is in a square with the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction five degrees shy of the SS Midheaven. The Sun also squares Saturn in the Third House and opposes Pluto in the 6th House. Chunk'o energy, oh lucky us. The Sun fortunately has an outlet to use that energy with a trine to the Chiron/Neptune conjunction in the 8th House and a trine withe the 29 Libra Moon as it transits into a Grand Water Trine at 0 Scorpio later on the longest day.
The Moon, the "small people", light the fuse with an inconjunct aspect to the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction, and another fuse is fired off with the Saturn inconjunct to the Neptune/Chiron conjunction. Lastly, a really irritating Mercury in a semi-square to Venus. Mercury in Gemini is exalted, the provider of information, Venus in Leo in the first House exaggerates the drama. Keep your ears open.
Necessity is the mother of invention. The signature energy of a Uranus/Jupiter conjunctions are surprises and sudden opportunities. Another expression of the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction is the thirst for freedom. People are antsy to be freed of the burden the corporations, governments, and religious institutions have yoked us with as tightly as a team of oxen pulling a wagon. Surprises that can come suddenly. The fiery Aries energy is like moonshine to a hot rod, zoom, zoom, zoom, kapow!
This Uranus/Jupiter confab of nuclear power rests upon the US 4th House angular cusp, the House of the "small people". The power duo squares the US.Venus and US Jupiter in the 7th House where foreign countries and their corporations would prefer the "small people" shut up and suck it up while the likes of Tony Hayward race their fancy yachts around the Isle of Wight. Wow are these old boyo's in for a surprise. American's are a wild bunch not particularly respectful of those who think mightily of themselves.
Lastly this aspect can manifest as revolution, the collectifve energy may win the day. The sheer number of us "little people" saying oh Yes We Can and Oh No You Don't. The next three months will be a roller coaster. Strap yourselves in, raise your hands high above your head, and loose your primal scream on this a Mid-Summer's Nights nightmare.

"Mid-Summer Night's Nightmare" pretty much says it all Morgana and we surely are in a nightmare, right now waiting on pins and needles for what will be coming next. You couldn't have said it better, this summer solstice is a pip, as you said full of potential disasters and amazing opportunities. I cannot get the phase "keep on trucking" out of my mind this year. From the economy to Haiti to the Gulf to the politicians. You've nailed the energy Morgana, simply, calmly bringing it all to the bottom line. As an astrologer I have great appreciation for that talent.

Sigh......Took so long to write I had to copy & paste as my login expired!
Good write up Morgana!
I was going to report in last night,on our annual town meeting! but glad I waited.
I was so enervated, I went to bed early instead.
What timing for it!
The town's N Sun,22o Jupiter,29o in Cancer, & Mercury 0o Leo,our 10th, in the SS first house,
Milbridge's N Moon, & progressed Sun 1o Capricorn, hugging the transiting 4o Pluto, our 4th, in the SS chart 6th house,
Also in the Milbridge chart with it's 1o Libra ASC., the N Neptune 2o Pisces, conjunct transiting Chiron 00o, Neptune 28o Aquarius...in our 5th, SS 8th
All those placements on the Cardinal cross...... one would expect a little fire, yes?
NO! Water extinguishes fire!
The I Ching hexagram for Before Completion, fire above, water below = a time when the transition from disorder to order is not yet completed. The change is indeed prepared for, everything not yet in place, parallels transition from Spring into Summer......and that closes/completes the Book of Changes!
It was so humid and steamy in the school gym, no spark or flame could have sustained. I thought I was in a Tennesee Williams play in the deep south! Our "sparky" resident T-bagger & his small band of followers tried.......but snuffed out. ( He refers to our Government as a" Town Hall Meeting style Government"and makes a good showing of a concerned citizen, with learned sounding proposals, except that they are all wrong, and just serve to slow down progress! He tried to morph the listed 48 articles to be voted for, to make us legally valid according to the laws of the State & Country, into a "line item veto"! It's NOT! He has already sued the town frivolously, causing more expense written into some of those items!
At one point our Cancer Sun, Andy Griffith, clone Town Manager & Police Chief, drew himself up in a VERY mild authoritarian, manner and told T-bag to "sit down"!
After that bit of disorder at the beginning, T astroids eros,& apollo 21o Leo in the SS 2nd, our 11th, made for a very convivial, speedy, run through of the budget items, necessary to vote on. Sentences were interrupted, motions & seconds piled up with show of hands raised before the last words were quite complete.
Our resident "blue stocking" writer about raising bees, stood up and made an excellent plea
for keeping the 3% raise for Town employees ( it was voted to keep )who have slaved with a very sharp pencil to keep all those items as low as possible. She & another couple are sophisticated Washington insider refugees, as are the local Audubon Club writers from NY. T-bag's credentials include survival skills in the upper Mich. peninsula!
My main carry away impression is.........Why is it so bloody stinkin' hot on a June evening in Maine when 40 years ago The Acadia National Park little Golden Nature Book, listed the average median daytime temperature at 64o. That is where the sins of the country at large have an effect!

Your concise, terse prose just cut right on through to the point, chaos unfolding. Great piece, Morgana and certainly worth waiting for!
There are great shifts taking place. Through our human filters we view them, and often, through opposite ends of the spectrum, either positive or negative. Perhaps that's one of our great perception failures. Yet, how CAN we view actions which endanger, maim, and kill humans, animals, birds, waterways, flora and fauna? We don't need horror films to give us the creeps, we have the horror of the ages in the form of corporate abuse.
QOP, I know the UP pretty well, lived there. And yes, there are some real zealots. Make the South look like Disneyworld. It is a hands-down beautiful place. Thankfully there are places like Ishpeming, where the Olympic cross-country ski team practices. And, where a number of Italian immigrants settled -- to work in the iron mines.
And, in the UP (small ugly town) I also served on the township council. There were two people who took every opportunity to try to cram down their agendas at every meeting. Finally the township council (upon my suggestion) set a time limit on such speeches.

karen,
I guess my comment failed to convey what I wanted to say.
This was the , LEAST CONTENTIOUS, MOST UNIFIED, PEACEFUL Town Meeting I have attended in 19 years here!
In contrast to Morgana's article, it feels as if our difficulties have been resolved.
The kid who brought up scraping the library budget every single year, has matured, is conservative but not in a crazy way. He is a selectman. The out of town sophisticates are all Friends of the Library, raising funds to supplement the Town's basic Library budget............
The speedy run through of the articles to vote on, was because no one had any questions or contentions, & we were all going to raise our hands for, Yes pass it, we know the hard working budget has been over it with a fine tooth comb & we trust their figures. No need to linger over 2nd motions. In spite of everyone here, feeling the pinch, the extras for seed money to the Cap agency,( heating oil, free transportation ETC.) hospital, free drug program, were approved speedily, where in other years they were argued over, and even turned down.
The T bagger has only been here 3 years, his tempest in a tea bag has been, squelched, flame put out...............The "little" people spoke!
And Harold West's son ( our esteemed Democratic Chair & operative who died in March ) ran for selectman, and won.
He has never bween involved in Politics before but is now following his Fathers path.

Get Ready for The McChrystal Soap Opera
In calling the top officials of the Obama adm whom he criticized to a Rolling Stone reporter, Gen Stanley McChrystal is reported to have said, 'I've compromised the mission.'" But the real issue here is only related to McChrystal inasmuch as we are currently following in Afghanistan a strategy he has advocated since the Bush years called COIN, generally known as counterinsurgency. But because the counterinsurgency strategy requires a strong local govt to exist so that we can eventually withdraw and turn things over to that govt, we've been supporting the totally corrupt and awash-in-heroin adm of former Unocal - now Chevron - oil exec Hamid Karzai, whose brother is also one of the biggest heroin dealers in the world. Whether McChrystal is fired or not is frankly irrelevant - unless it means that our military and diplomatic strategies change.
McChrystal basically blackmailed Pres Obama into continuing Bush's war with Bush's strategy - a strategy of counterinsurgency that this nation last tried a generation ago in a nation then called S Vietnam. While all the corpo media will be discussing the People Mag type of story that focuses on the personalities and conflicts among a few senior military folks and insiders in the Obama adm, making it into a huge soap opera, keep your eye on the real story: will this singular moment in time be seized by Obama as an opportunity to repudiate bush's and McChrystal's Afghanistan strategy and instead go with VP Joe Biden's very well thought out and straightforward strategy to join virtually all of our European allies in getting our troops out of that country. -Thom (Hartman)

Here is a cheery positive.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2010/jun/23/can-cities-save-bees
But surprisingly, the industry has discovered that bees kept in urban areas are healthier and produce better honey. In rural areas, bees are victims of the disappearance of wild flowers, caused by excessive monoculture and the misuse of pesticides. As a consequence, it is more and more common to see wild swarms finding refuge in cities, and beekeepers are regularly deciding to move their hives to city gardens and parks. Fewer pesticides and a greater biodiversity are helping bee colonies to thrive here.

* The Rise of Haley Barbour as the New [old] Republican Idiot
I never thought I'd write this, but I think we've discovered a new level of stupid below the heretofore impenetrable Sarah Palin floor.
It's not unlike the discovery of a previously unknown species of protohuman deep within a cave somewhere, revealing some new twist in the constantly expanding canon of human evolution. There is, in fact, a Republican of natl prominence who makes Sarah Palin seem brighter and less contradictory by comparison. That's not to say Palin has miraculously become smarter or better spoken, it's just that the idiot curve is now redrawn in her favor.
Yes, Gov Haley Barbour of MS is arguably the new king of all Republican stupids. Palin must now relinquish her Twitter feed, her fork cork and her trident. For Haley Barbour has arrived. ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/move-over-sarah-palin-the_b_623319.html

Restructuring begins...........
Lubec High School will close: The vote in today's referendum by Lubec residents was 269 yes, 239 no. The high school will close. People will lose jobs. The easternmost high school in America will close.
Genie: Only the high school closes. The elementary school stays open.
Chip Hennequin
Where will the students go? Calais? Machias? Busing costs will be terrible.
.................................................
( Not as bad as maintaining faculty, & the physical plant. It must be difficult to heat sitting on a field, no trees open to the winds coming from the Bay of Fundy, & Cobscook Bay.
A friend taught there for several years and said it was terrible!
They will go to Machias Memorial High,( students 175 total) the school I was assigned to in 2000 - 2002 as VISTA.
It is a pretty good school and further there is an excellent private High School in Machias.........that raises the bar for the Public high.
A real problem to solve because the 6 High Schools ( now 5) are strung out like beads along a coastline, distance from 1 end to the other a 2 hour drive.

Good morning Awers. . .
Had a little party with friends last night. They knew people in the gulf. Although we know some of this, it was more graphic in the telling. The spill has created a masive dead zone. All marine life is moving toward shore, the larger fish in chase of the smaller. The smells are a mixture of toxic chemicals, oil, and death.
We all experienced penetrating moments of silence/prayer. The evening moved on to other topics, one of which was a joke.
A frog walked into a bank, then to a teller, noticed that her name tag said she was Patty Whack. The frog said to Patty Whack, "I would like to borrow $30,000. My father is Mick Jagger. He knows the bank manager." Patty Whack asked, "Do you have any collateral?" The frog in answer pulled out a small ceramic elephant. Patty just shook her head, but took the elephant and walked into the manager's office and said, "There's a frog out there, says he knows you, wants to borrow $30,000 and use this," she held up the elephant, "for collateral." The manager replied with gusto, "Patty Whack, give that frog a loan! His ol' man's a rolling stone!"

This is where I am going to be teaching Art!
What a beautiful place!
http://www.youtube.com/cobscookcommunity
I connected with them last fall at the Juice Conference!
Also from my facebook.......Cobscook Community Learning Center
We've followed the news throughout the past few months with regards to closing Lubec High School. This is a sad day for all those who were working to keep the school open. Concerns about community identify, transportation time, class size, and sense of belonging are real. As families figure out where to send their students, we want fo...lks to know about another high school option available to students this coming September throu the CCLC and in partnership with area school districts.
In 2008, the CCLC began development of an integrated high school curriculum for Washington County students in response to a stated need for alternative high school programming by both local students and school administrators. A team of educators developed The Community Year in response to that need. Based at the CCLC Campus in Trescott, students who participate will experience an hands-on, inquiry-based, expedition model of education. This program allows participants to move through an integrated curriculum while earning the credits they need (based on an individualized learning plan). In alignment with the Guiding Principles of the Maine Learning Results, The Community Year is an option for all students in Washington County seeking a different option for their high school career. Call Kara at 733-2233 or email cclc@thecclc.org for more info.
It's like Springhill school that I read about in the early 60's!

* ... BP's mission statement
In the arc of human history, the notion that nature is a machine for [The Boyz] to re-engineer at will is a relatively recent conceit. In her ground-breaking 1980 book The Death of Nature, the environmental historian Carolyn Merchant reminded readers that up until the 1600s, the Earth was alive, usually taking the form of a mother. Europeans – like indigenous people the world over – believed the planet to be a living organism, full of life-giving powers but also wrathful tempers. There were, for this reason, strong taboos against actions that would deform and desecrate "the mother", incl mining.
The metaphor changed with the unlocking of some (but by no means all) of nature's mysteries during the scientific revolution of the 1600s. With nature now cast as a machine, devoid of mystery or divinity, its component parts could be dammed, extracted and remade with impunity. Nature still sometimes appeared as a woman, but one easily dominated and subdued. Sir Francis Bacon best encapsulated the new ethos when he wrote in the 1623 De dignitate et augmentis scientiarum that nature is to be "put in constraint, moulded, and made as it were new by art and the hand of man". ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/move-over-sarah-palin-the_b_623319.html
And those were the "nice" things he said.

Wow great posts.
I Love YOU!
Had a thought that i had to pass on.
Everywhere, and on all fronts both personal and universal, it seems as though corporate entities are attempting to consolidate power.
I've received "signs" of our coming great shift before. One was the realization of the planet's population (which I've stated before). Are "all souls" present yet? And, are we present for what.
The power consolidation is another "sign" I'm perceiving.
Anyone else?

Consolidation will go on until 2012 and then we begin to see a breaking apart "too big to fail" will find out they are failing. Their fall will begin then, in the meantime we could think about avoiding BS articles and other media designed to hype us up and focus on what we are going to do and what is coming after their fall and after the fall of this government. I can hardly wait for another Matthew epistle. Patience will be our needed friend as well as enjoying this earth and the beauty we have left of this earth. The gulf coast will be practically destroyed and people will be moving from the coast to find work. Do what you can to shore yourself up and for heavens sake try not to let them scare or anger us, it only hurts us just as their greed and fear are hurting them.

Clymela, there are such fine moments of clarity as we age (by the way didn't you just have a birthday?). It seems those are the connected moments, connected to one another, the earth, and beyond.
Sally, I agree that fear is one of the greatest energy zappers. And, yes those consolidating powers are using that very thing to acquire more -- perhaps giving credence to the theory floating around that the oil spill was intentional. Yes, I know anger is fear's cousin, yet seeing and feeling the fouled cries of the species on this planet (and even the Earth herself) I sometimes let that anger rip loose.
One day we will understand our connectedness.

At any rate he is now in residential schooling because we have not been able to get him in a "box"that he can accept. He is terrified and angry and lashing out I am trusting that the people working with him are trained and ready to help him and I am PRAYING that the love of our Mother,Mary, will find him and those around him I trust in miracles expect them even. The most peculiar planet in the Solstice chart is Mercury with no close aspects in Gemini, an intriguing placement in light of the reading for the Gemini New Moon. Recall that the previous New Moon set off rapid and constant change, as it opened the gates to our spirit guides if we asked them for guidance. I even offered an easy technique for doing that, which is still posted. In the Solstice chart, since Mercury is still in Gemini, this fast dissemination power continues through the summer unabated. That is, you will be able to call on your guides and spirit helpers constantly, and as you work with them, you free them to dream in your world. As you can see with the oil disaster, we can be destructive, or we can invite the spiritual guides into our world to create with us. They can guide us to solve the great errors that could destroy our planet, as long as we agree to do the work through our own bodies. With Mercury in Gemini with no close aspects, I sense that mundane Mercury is getting his plug pulled this summer. It is even possible that this lesser role with Mercury could enhance our communication with spirits, especially with Uranus (higher mind) in Aries conjuncting Jupiter. This suggests many people will allow
less media and computer contact, and spend more time with real intuition.

* Pluto Opposite Venus-Jupiter in Cancer
Pisces and Neptune
Fallen Idols
I've come to think that the planets are neutral and the chemistry created when I interact with them is largely undetermined, although intuitive suppositions can probably be made. An uncommonly large disaster appeared out of the blue precisely when Pluto opposed the US Venus-Jupiter conjunction. Venus-Jupiter? Huh? Not good? Apparently not. Not yet.
By now people are beginning to recognize the magnitude of this event and there is a great deal more to come. Pluto to Jupiter is sometimes indicative of a jackpot but it can also mean the opposite -- bankruptcy. I'll begin with some personal recollection since my Jupiter dominated chart recently received the graces of Pluto by conjunction. ... http://raginguniverse.blogspot.com/

Byrd became a great example of spirit change -- a vocal one, and yes, qop, the sky is crying for such a fine human who will certainly be welcomed into another House -- perhaps assisting us from another dimension.
Clymela, the support you've received and are receiving for your grandson has been energizing. His acting out is familiar to me. It often is a way to break bonds, find your own identity apart from family. Family ties will become more important to him later in life. Now, however, he sees family as restrictive. I'm guessing he's highly intelligent, seeking some way to express himself as an individual. I'm hoping that he meets someone who can show him a positive way to express all that energy.

OH Holy Cow,Batfolk-our water is cut off for a few hours while the water company and the utility company replace pipes, etc that have not been worked on for generations now and then the battery power on my computer went down to 3%. OOOH I was so excited.
At any rate, QOP I lost what I had written about Senator Byrd: definitely the end of an era for us and those above 50 years. We won't see the likes of him and the Kennedy's and Johnson and others who won't come to mind now but they were of a time when Republicans could be respected. The torch passes now to a new age, different Uranus,Neptune and Pluto, different world images. We are now officialloy the old ones passing on out wisdom to guide the young and energetic

Utilize the interim phase between the eclipses then to decide who you truly are. What are you here to do, what will you do with the years of this sojourn you have remaining. You see Masters, the energy of the period you are entering, offers you the ability to enter a state of profound 'Beingness'. A state beyond the mind, an energy beyond that you term thought. And for many of you, Beingness is a state that you have not truly engaged; such is the control you have given the inner narrator. In a true sense the Diamond Triad offers those of you who can silence the mind, the opportunity to more easily enter the solemn vibration of still wisdom, of 'mindless' Beingness, and truly Masters, it is a state far higher in frequency that that of mindfulness. Does that confuse you? We tell you that there is an identity of your Divinity that is above the mind, and it is an aspect of your soul, and is far closer to your true Beingness. Indeed mind is simply a companion of your Beingness relative to the 3rd dimension, and we beckon you to explore this aspect more deeply in the following 4-5 weeks, for many doorways are opening. You are capable of investing your Beingness in a higher level of engagement during this time, and while this may surprise you, your mind invites this opportunity, in all its aspects of creativity, for it knows that there is a level above it that is quite necessary for your evolvement into higher dimension.

BP deliberately sinks oil with Corexit as cover up
BP's massive oil spill will officially become the largest ever in the Gulf of Mexico this week. The volcanic oil that's gushed for two and a half months will surpass the 140 million gallon mark, surpassing the record-setting Ixtoc I spill off Mexico's coast from 1979 to 1980. Meanwhile, In a stunning interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper on June 29th, Allegiance Capitol Corporation V.P. Fred McCallister is claiming that BP is deliberately sinking oil with the toxic chemical dispersant Corexit, to hide the extent of the oil spill. By sinking the oil before it can be collected, BP won't have to pay fines on it. Additionally, a company affiliated with BP has been selling clip-on ultrasonic flow meters for use in waters up to 10,000 feet deep to accurately measure the amount of oil flowing through a pipe without having to insert itself into the pipe. In other words, all this time, BP could have been accurately measuring the amount of oil gushing out through their failed blowout preventer and instead they chose explicitly NOT to install the flowmeter and, rather than that, insert Corexit dispersant so that the oil won't make it to the surface where it can be measured but instead will stay below the surface where it will kill wildlife but be out of sight and out of mind. This is part of the reason why this dispersant is illegal in Europe. And should be here, too! -Thom

Those were good qop, enjoyed them.
It feels like we are reeling from one point to another, then some peace (always over a holiday when congress and the media are down in communications) For that peace I am grateful, most grateful. Uranus and Jupiter in Aries says "ready or not we are moving forward as a nation." In 1601 a group of European landed in this country at what became Roanoke, VA. looking for a new land a new start and Jupiter was at 1 degree Aries. We are also looking for a new start in the US and a foundation on which to build it. Jupiter in Aries is another signal of looking forward not back, not the way we believe it used to be, but forward to what we can be. This July 4th weekend is a good time to begin doing that very thing.

Ah, but Sally, it IS HAPPENING HERE!
I have been peripherally aware of this for some years now, although so occupied with focus on electoral politics I didn't finish putting the pieces together. I was concerned several YEARS AGO ABOUT DERIVETIVES...........dimly aware that it could lead to this.
In my personal experience, now I qualify for the 30lb brown bag pkg of Govt food supplement. (in addition to the locally supplied food pantry products chosen & co-ordinated by local, thinking people with nutritional knowledge and empathy.) The 2nd month I failed to pick up my package & they called me to come get it. Well it DID contain 2 64 oz jugs of OJ, unaltered....but the canned peas & corn are high sodium content, the canned pork, shudder..1/2 the first one waiting to go into the trash. I have 2 more unopened......the corn flakes.........in 2 short months, I now possess 4.5 lbs of cornflakes with SUGAR, SALT, & CORN SYRUP, which I can't eat; they give me a stomach ache! I'm sure it's GM corn!
This is not Jimmy Carter's Gov. surplus!
I hear bad reports about, the Meals on Wheels program too... old food non-nutritious food, & the elderly are still required to pay $3.00 per meal for it.
Last July's eclipse, was a direct hit on my Pluto in the 2nd house ( Cancer: nurturing, food, etc.) Pluto has demanded that I shift my value system, has certainly gotten my attention!) and last week's eclipse, was direct on my N Chiron, also Cancer, 1st house,
(reaching out to nurture/ heal others) while the Transiting Chiron has been, will be dancing over my MC, 27 Aqu.( humanitarian ), conjunct the USA people's moon........ My N. Neptune is conjunct the USA Neptune in the country's 10th house.
I am finding that as I reach out in different directions......I CONNECT here, there, building a unified grid.
It is positive & promising, infinitely more satisfying, than any gourmet dining experience that I have ever had in NY City, Miami or Europe!

The first thing the Goldmans, and their ilk began to gamble on was mineral/oil wealth which led to the degradation of farm lands, waterways, etc.(this continues at an accelerated clip),the displacement of indigenous peoples, and the disappearance of species -- including plants -- that local cultures relied upon.
Sally, qop, this will come to a screeching halt. Do those who manipulate these very basic needs not eat food? not drink water? When all of their poisons come to their own tables they may begin to understand just what they have created.
Now, I hope all of you know how to can. Here's a tip for meat eaters. Local meat processing plants (the small clean ones) have venison that people have left and not picked up. You can get that venison very inexpensively. It is delicious canned. (So are other fresh meats. There may be local farmers in your area who will sell you fresh chicken, pork, beef, etc.) Canned meat will last for a long time. And, is far more nutritious than what you get off the shelf. Same with veges, of course.

Apparently it's more community than I realized! Everybody can get a personal blog on the site with my approval and work on it, and add users (with my approval again). I hope that this becomes a true community like Daily Kos, where everybody who has a subject can expound on it at length in their own individual blog linked to the main blog.
Things will be off ann on there this weekend as I continue to poke my way around, learning how to become a full webmaster and as I also work on aquariusmoon.info. But please feel free to poke around and give me whatever feedback you can.

Sally, dear- I have had an intuition about this Goldman-Sacs thing from hearing that starvation increased in India because of high food costs-I know that food is not more expensive but the manipulations of the "Masters of the Universe" are daily increasing.
I am reminded of the statements regarding Pluto transits that in the beginning the worst of Pluto in that sign increases until the "evil" finally collapses. I count on that and pray that the clarity of our young ones with their freedom from the racism and bigotry that we encountered in youth (and which we struggled against as part of our "signature")will be able to see them through the pressure to feel the push of us and them and the reactionary responses of the old ways. God knows that the powers that be are doing all that they can to push war around the globe-brother against brother, sister against sister and on and on.
Karen canning meat is nothing to undertake without mastery or a wonderful mentor. I grew up on tales of families wiped out by spoiled canned meant and green beans. That said absolutely those of us in family units need to cultivate as much of our own food as possible-really.

Carol, I would like a site on your blog.
I haven't been able to get it untill this post, either through bookmark or googling, ( nor from Nancy's site where you posted it)
I am very busy right now, & thinking of an appropriate username ( that I will remember.)
I have canned peaches & tomatoes & jams in the past, ..........
& with a little luck I will be canning peaches again this summer..............but then there is always the energy efficient, freezer for green beans & meat.
At this point I wish we didn't have to eat at all...it takes up so much of our time...........
But, happy to report that the corn, squash, & beets I planted at the Cap moon are already up. I have managed to restore my soil after the sewer construction of 5 years ago.!

Clymela, it's not funny but your story of the problems and complications of canning meat brought to mind some problems with the process. Both my mother and I (at different times) blew up the meat processer in the cooking process with meat flying everywhere. We never actually had a bad batch but I stopped canning one day when I thought of the people who did have a bad batch and I decided it was a dangerous thing to do. By the way qop, you can also freeze peaches, but if electricity could go out, canning would be best. I love peaches canned, fresh or frozen (they taste fresh when frozen so do peas)
You're right Clymela, it's the first half of a Pluto transit that is the most stressful and disasterous and then it all switches to another side. Usually by then a country or a person has given up an old life and is in the process of creating a new one, that's why it is so important not to drag the past with you and to envision the kind of life you would like things to be and act on them, such as saving instead of using credit cards, being nicer to one another, getting involved with a community, and anything else one's imagination and talent can take them. This country is not what we thought it was and that way of life is gone and will not come back for decades if not centuries to come, but can we make it better than we thought?
Carol, I don't have a clue how to set up blogs for everyone but it's great that you have. I need to figure it out for AW.
Karen, I've wondered the same thing, do they realize they may have clean food and water now, they may be able to afford their own sources, but even that will run out in time, then what for them?

qop, just contact me by email or google aquariusmoon.net, or go to aquariusmoon.info and hit the Group Blog Link. Clymela's Blog is already on there, and there can apparently be hundreds.
The confusing part is that the Big Blog is a subfolder of the big site (aquariusmoon.info), and I also have a personal blog on there as well.
All this talk of canning reminds me of the fact that as a kid, we used to have a big old pressure cooker. I don't recall us ever using it-but my dad used to can fruit and some of the stuff he grew in his outdoor garden. The stuff he canned was far superior than the stuff in the store, but in my childhood arrogance I refused to admit that-it just looked oldfashioned.
But don't you know that a lot of the things he did are coming back in style? If we still had his old trunk and the things in it, we could have paid for everything via e-bay. Home food gardening is making a comeback-I suspect permanently as Pluto in Capricorn brings in the new economy I have been reading about.
A plea for forgiveness in advance: I'm still poking my way around the software on the blogs-wordpress mu is relatively new, and at times I may make mistakes. Just e-mail me and let me know what the problem is.

The software platform I'm using is Wordpress-MU, which I found a relief after finding out that scoop was gone and I hated drupal.
One of the advantages it seems to me of a multi-blog site is that everyone has a niche they can expound from at full length and at the same time they could link to each other and the big blog and communicate. And what's more, being on a site that is sympathetic to your interests.
One thing you will notice is that you can have your own theme and your own look at your individual blog and add users on your own for comments.

Carole(Aquariusmoon) i got the email and answered thinking that I was blogging with you but noooo I am talking to myself. I would like to know how to talk to you-email me.
Sally-I find myself drawn to the social justice folk such as WAWA and Sojournwea these days as the karma comes flying back on us. I read someone blaming the Mayans/Incas for what happened in the Gulf. I thought that was interesting but I think that we can look closer to home.
Myself I wonder if Pluto transiting my MC in a few years could result in the loss of the Public Employees pension for which I paid but which the Meanie Marauders want to stop even though we have the funds secured. I heard a commercial on the commercial "progressive" station begging people to sign the petition to stop my pension and those of others like myself even going so far as directing the good citizens to the government agency to get a petition for their own use. I was amazed and realized that I am vulnerable because of all the money stolen from the 410K's of good citizens who can now be convinced that it was us, the public employees who ate all the cake and do not deserve to have a pension. And of course we get no defense at all even though folk such as myself paid a good percentage of take home pay and lower wages to cover the pensions we will need when retired. This when Pluto is quincunx my 2nd house Sun and trine my Mars in the 1st.
Everyone in my family has something in the early degrees so that we are all under this transit-I could go on and on but I know.....you dear reader/friends have only one life.
Love to you all.

townsquare@aquariusmoon.info.....or carolduhart07@gmail.com for contacts.
It's gets just horrific, realizing how much over a barrel the oil companies have had, and just how destructive their influence have been lately. We could have had the freedom of movement without the pollution if hemp hadn't been criminalized. Hemp was the original source for diesel. Think, renewable, grows on marginal land or even indoors, so no need to compete for food crop land, and is reportedly a carbon sink.
Hempcrete
It's also a carbon sink, taking out more co2 than it emits.
http://www.renewable-house.co.uk/
Hemp also can serve as a fuel as well for cars....
http://www.hemp4fuel.com/news.php
So if we can move the criminalizers out of the way, we could fuel our cars and build our homes with renewable materials. Let BP choke on the cost of turning the oil drill platforms into glorified coral reefs and paying the cost of cleanup.

Aspartame is the most controversial food additive in history, and its approval for use in food was the most contested in FDA history. In the end, the artificial sweetener was approved, not on scientific grounds, but rather because of strong political and financial pressure. After all, aspartame was previously listed by the Pentagon as a biochemical warfare agent!
It's hard to believe such a chemical would be allowed into the food supply, but it was, and it has been wreaking silent havoc with people's health for the past 30 years.

Yes, Donald Rumsfeld had LOTS of money in the aspartame company and that's why it got the green light so fast.
Troubles here in California if Carly Fiorina can oust Barbara Boxer. Meg Whitman is so appallingly ugly from within that I cannot believe CA will vote her in as governor. Everytime I see her on the TV regardless of the lighting, the diets, the make-up Meg comes across as greedy and pushy and mean-that of course is my very personal opinion.

Just what is it, anyway, with the apparent rise of all these Republican women these days? Is it the Illuminati/Bilderbergers' way of trying to co-opt and block the resurgence of the divine feminine or something?
We've got Nimrata Randhawa... better known as Nikki Haley (nice, squeaky-clean Anglo alias) running for governor of South Carolina in the so-called "New" South (e.g. we're now more tolerant of diversity up front and will smile to your face, but we'll still mutter racial slurs and obscenities behind your back). Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman running for California Governor and Former HP CEO Carly Fiorina running for Senate against Barbara Boxer. And of course, who could possibly forget the former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, now actively raising money for something to do with 2012? Even the Cheneys' daughter, Liz, seems ready to carry forward her parents' torch of senseless spite, profiteering and crass, self-serving jingoism for a new generation.
I do think it's funny in a way that you've got two former CEOs running for high office in California. It's as if they think they can "fix" that mess on force of corporate executive personality alone, even when corporate executive personalities are a big part of what got that state and this country into the mess that its in. Schwarzenegger made that mistake too, thinking he was going to enjoy two terms of walking into stadiums full of people chanting his name like he were some kind of movie superstar, bodybuilder hero.
Ego is all it's about, really, for these folks. Male or female, it's all the same. But as we also say, it's merely a reflection of the times and of the people.

Just what is it, anyway,
It's so appallingly simple,Neo......reduced to the lowest common denominator.........They want power, control & money, and will do anything to get it!
We subtle, multidimensional, critical thinkers, have trouble grasping it, it is so foreign to us!
Years ago the PLAN was crafted, funded, scripted, and has been used as sledgehammer since without deviation!
Anyone without a conscience, who wants to gain, can jump aboard, as long as they follow the lines and don't ad-lib from the script. ( They deviously allowed mccain the label, of "maverick" as a trojan horse ploy.)
My very short run for the state senate, was eye opening. I received in the mail just today a candidate questionnaire, from the Maine Right to Life Committee. ( I'M SURE UNDER THE GUIDING EYE OF THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE)First question: Under what circumstances, if any do you believe that abortion should be legal?
A To protect the health of the Mother...yes__no___
B The baby was conceived through rape or incest.
yes__no___
C The baby has a handicap or defect. yes__ no___
(by this time you have likely checked yes 3 times, & they hit you with the sleeper ....)
D Abortion should NEVER be legal. yes___no___
( But, never is NOT capitalized!)
They have perfected a million little tricks to catch people unaware, take advantage of the fact that now that they have dumbed down education, a LOT of people don't read well enough to pick up on the switcheroo!
I got a similar questionnaire from the h headquarters of the NRA. That one threatened me with censorship by the members if I didn't fill it out & return it. It was 6 pages of very legal situations that would have taken weeks to research & answer intelligently, ( INSTEAD OF CAMPAIGNING TO WIN!)
We liberals/progressives/independants .........analyze, disect, ruminate over every little nuance, and the tortoise ambles by focused on reaching the finish line!
We Dems in the County upo here are working on that, & none too soon, I observed today, talking to people at the Farmers Mrket that we are loosing some of the Independants...to Lipton & Tetly! They are confused by the hammering of the repig machine, & disillusioned by some of Obama's choices.......Yet it happened to Carter Clinton....& now Obama.

Speaking of popeywhopies and churchywerchies...
* Sunday's Eclipse and the Destruction of the Catholic Church
On 11th July there is a total eclipse of the Sun, but only visible as such over the S Pacific Ocean and the tip of S America. Eclipses are catalysts for the deeper undercurrents in the collective that are always moving humanity one way or another, sometimes at faster rates – like now - than at others.
Eclipses come in cycles that can last 1500 years or so. They start off as a partial eclipse and gradually grow until after say 500 years they reach totality, then they start to wane.
Sunday’s Eclipse cycle began in 1541. What we are seeing now should bear some sort of relationship to, or represent some sort of fruition, of events in 1541, particularly as we have reached totality. ... http://astrotabletalk.blogspot.com/2010/07/sundays-eclipse-and-destruction-of.html

Wow, you guys are HOT! er. . .I mean. . .
The twists and turns in your postings just had me roaring with laughter this morning, Joanna! qop, the recent questionnaire re: abortion is one of those insidious group-think-gone-bad examples. No room for compromise there. Neo, what little I watch television makes me wonder just how many tea-party-focused ads ARE actually airing throughout the day. Each of them tout fiscal conservancy as the candidate spends bazillions to "get their message out." Hello? Anyone see the blatant duplicity in this? Has our capacity for reasoning been eclipsed?

newsweek creativity crisis article, explains why & how! ( well one segment of the campaign to create confusion)
Is this all that eclipse energy?
I particularly liked your astrotabletalk post Joanna. He mentions the first of this eclipse series beginning in 1541 bearing a relationship or fruition of what began then. My Huguenot ( french protestants)ancestors had to flee France or be massacred.
Thought provoking,.... at the JUNE ECLIPSE, I just had a past life experience that took me back to that very time. hmmmmmmm

* 'To Kill A Mockingbird' Anniversary: On Its 50th Birthday, Why Is 'To Kill A Mockingbird' Being Attacked?
I never thought I'd see the day when the lawyer who argued Brown v. Topeka Board of Education before the Supreme Court and went on to be the first African-American to sit on that Court would have his career reduced to that most dreaded of all contemporary labels: "activist."
I never thought I'd see the day when you can legally carry concealed weapons into airports and bars and --- my sweet Lord! --- churches.
I never thought I'd see the day when allegedly smart adults would tell me that America's poor were so powerful that, given the chance to own real estate, they bought so many houses they couldn't afford that they tanked the economy of almost every country in the world.
But then I never thought I'd see the day when "To Kill A Mockingbird" --- a novel that has inspired readers for half a century --- would be derided as a book about "the limitations of liberalism" (by Malcolm Gladwell, no less, in The New Yorker, of all places) and "a sugar-coated myth of Alabama's past" with a hero who's "a repository of cracker-barrel epigrams" (by Allen Barra, in the Wall St Journal) ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jesse-kornbluth/to-kill-a-mockingbird-ann_b_641473.html

Oh... I think I'd better add the next couple of lines to the "To Kill a Mockingbird" piece.
" ...And it's definitely no surprise that the downgrading is done by men.
"To Kill a Mockingbird" is a woman's book.
Written by a woman, Harper Lee, but more, written by a woman who dared to see herself as her region's Jane Austen. Told by a 6 YO girl. With a hero who's not, in any traditional sense, manly. With a message of kindness and empathy generally associated with female values:

Good God, joannaoregon, how far down do some need to go before they get it out of their system?
I don't know but the Arizona governor and her heads in the desert was simply way beyond what I thought I would hear from grownups in charge. The fact that there is actually a law that the Feds must take on is horrifying.
This will no doubt be food for the folks who believe that Obama hates white folk. I hope that we can get this out of our collective soul before too many more people must die.

Like millions upon millions I loved "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Scout, Jem and Aticus. I saw a clip of a documentary about Scout, Jem and Aticus; in it the narrator was talking about how far back the book depicts and there they were girls wearing pants, playing ball and far more outspoken than one would have thought. The movie is set in the early to mid 30's, I was born in 1942 and it certainly was as I remembered the little town where I grew up. The book is even more poignant today with reminder's of what we have gained and what we have lost, however, girls were outspoken and I don't know what age we stopped being so, must have been when we started liking boys.
This eclipse,so far has been quiet, we'll see how the latest BP fix works, and how the economy fairs over the next six months, this eclipse has some roots into the `29 Depression, and the economic fall in `87, we will have to see if this impacts at least through October. I do expect anger and frustration to heat up along with July's tempetures.

QOP (Pat) thank you for the Susan Boyle clip. God I love her. She sings for all of us, the peons, the peasants the ones who carry the world around in its cycle everyday but who are never, never seen or heard. Let all of us sing out loud, write as if the whole world is waiting, paint as if history is holding its breath to see what we come up with. Let us all understand that the limp, the stutter, the lop-sided grin is beautiful to the world waiting to see what we have to share.

Sally-I think you are right about when we "lost" our voices. I know that when the menopause was finished one of the things I keep writing about is how my voice came back and how once again I was the person I was before the shower of hormones shut me up. Until that point I didn't realize what a huge debt we owe and must pay to the collective. This regained freedom makes this one of my favorite parts of life with the catch, of course, being that "darkening of the light".

hmm, I lost mine early on because my Mother had a wicked vocal, right, left jab.. if she disagreed with you.
I tested it out as my marriage was disintgrating, but that brought scary repercussions a couple of t times. I had kept my mouth shut and just painted on the wall, while my husband, talked to the clients. Then came the day I was on my own with 2 kids, no support.......and the first call came in for a mural job. ( burned in my memory) I opened my mouth, and all those golden phrases, I had heard ED USE ALL THOSE YEARS JUST POURED FORTH, LIKE THE NIGHTENGALE! At that moment I un derstood, that painting murals was about 50% painting them & 50% selling them. Some years later a friend observed that I "could sell socks to a snake!"
Through the " raging qop" period, I know now that Eris the Goddess of discord, was transiting my mercury in aries!
At this point in my life I seemed to have integrated the 2 approaches, to become someone to be listened to. Good thing, it will be needed in the coming years!

Okay-just yesterday someone, I don't know who said that we would be in war for 10 years more and there was in Huffington Post, etc the story of a woman threatened with being stoned to death after being buried up to her neck, and there is so much news about how horrible Iran is. Why are we doing this? Is this the end of the Piscean Age? I don't know but our greed and cruelty are I believe unmatched and by "us" I am not referring only to US citizens but all of us who are running things the Chinese as well as the US,the European Union as well as the US.
I wonder if the people running things are completely unaware that things are running down? Are they utterly unaware of the signs? I don't know but my heart is breaking again.

Dear CLymela buck up "stout heart" don't break, get to work! You are being led to the archeology of your childhood for a reason...
I have been mulling over the ancestral vague sense of duty to push back against the illumiati...it is getting much closer & clearer now. There are 2 from that group on my facebook, & other soul travelers, ....one posted the Emerald Book of Thoth there last night. He looks like a brother to my Grandson..........curious.
Karen: My takeaway from last night's conversation, was, we need to focus/concentrate grassroots energy on rebuilding community security: organic small farming such as you are doing, small manufacturing, to provide the necessities.......When the troops have a stable situation to return to be a part of, it will be possible to end the wars.
Saturn going into Libra on the 22nd, should help bring some balance. http://blog.beliefnet.com/astrologicalmusings/2009/10/saturn-moving-into-libra.html
I DO SEE A FAST GROWING AWARENESS THAT WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING.
While it is still in virgo, with mars & venus there,we should look at the trees...does this one need a branch trimmed?, fertilizer? and let the BIG BAD forest be, not influence us.
(our greed and cruelty are I believe unmatched and by "us" I am not referring only to US citizens but all of us who are running things the Chinese as well as the US,the European Union as well as the US.) WE CAN'T CHANGE THAT! DON;T LET IT DRAIN US. Here at AW we have seen it coming for a long time........WE ARE AWAKE. No need to dwell on new outrages, same as the old outrages, all a part of disaster capitalism!
NOW, I HAVE A TREE TO PRUNE! XXXXXOOOOO

Whew I love you you wonderful AWers. Really!!
I didn't make myself clear. The archeology of childhood and old friendships I take to be a blessing. Especially the work with the woman from my childhood-together out charts create a Grand Cross and a Grand Trine: we are probably essence twins if you know anything from the Michael entity materials. I have such a feeling of relief and understanding. So much that could not be said as children is now out there for both of us and I am connecting with others-as if we all came in on the same "ship" to do the same work together in love and light. OH!! Karen I feel such connection with my plants in my tiny urban garden and I thank them for bringing in the day for us daily-the plants and the kittens.I feel tired and achy but I feel free in ways I have never felt free. I feel as if the past is pretty cleaned up now-in fact I said sheepishly to my Guidances "now I am not getting ready to "pass" am I?". That is how complete I feel these days.

MACHIAS, Maine — Something magical seems to happen to some people the first time they see or touch a handmade book.
“There seems to be a genetic predisposition in book lovers,” Steve Miller, a paper and bookmaking expert from the University of Alabama, said last week. “Something seems to resonate on a very deep level. It is a love process.”
Miller is one of more than 71 people from all over the world participating in the 24th Paper and Book Intensive, held July 11-22 at the University of Maine at Machias, where bookmaking is a curriculum subject during the school year.

"And here's what those voices in my head said: there are two major portals left to walk through...one arising at the end of this month and one in the beginning of August.
These two major gateways are purportedly bringing us in deeper harmony with the "master creator within"..."the reconnection of your inherent creational powers will come forth through these gateways and in doing so, the next level of transformation and resurrection of physicality will commence."...........more
These next two weeks will collectively bring us to a point of jumping into seas of untold depth where at any given moment we will have two choices: we can get swept up in the undercurrent and fight to stay afloat, or we can relax into the momentum of the swells and body surf those waves with pure excitement as they guide us effortlessly to the shores of our new lives.
In the end, we are all exactly where we need to be and at this stage of the game there is nothing left to DO but BE.
So I guess we'll do what we always do...BE patient."

Our ET friends?
Gulf oil spill: Where has the oil gone?
Since BP capped its ruptured well, the Gulf oil spill has shrunk dramatically. The Gulf itself is breaking down the oil at top speed, but past spills indicate the effects could linger for decades. ... http://www.readersupportednews.org/off-site-news-section/49-49/2541-gulf-oil-spill-where-has-the-oil-gone

Eh Joannaoregon, ET you betcha!
It's been a crazy summer between work and watching my grandson (whom I adore) free time has been hard to come by. My ex's son is out here visiting his brother (my son) for a couple of weeks staying with us and he is renovating my house. I've also taken the time to spend with my old auntie who turned 90, almost 91 (4 hr drive one way), and has started to fade and my life becomes an emotional roller coaster. Course my life has been a roller coaster for several months and I've decided to go with the flow.
Both Sally and I have articles on the burner would help if we put something new up :) since we are living in such "interesting times".
If ya'll are on Twitter you can find me @MSeawalker I'll post an update on Facebook when we have a new article up as well.
Hey Clymela we're all here I've been mostly lurking keeping my mars in scorpio quiet otherwise I'd sound like a screaming banshee. Can't stand to see or hear GOP'er rightwinger braying jackasses.
Ok back to work for me.

Batten down the hatches as Mars/Saturn oppose Uranus and Jupiter squares Pluto for the next several days. If you notice we now have another oil spill in China, another in the Gulf and another in Michigan of all places. I don't know about any of you, but I had an argument today as did several others I know. This is going to be a huge week of frustration and anger. Protesters are gearing up in Arizona as are the authorities, tea baggers are out in force as the politicians fan out over the country trying to raise funds. This will be a very wild month in the weather, perhaps earthquakes, anger, frustration over jobs, money the war (remember that) I don't expect this to be a calm weekend and there are new projects beginning that will take a long time to finish.
The full moon was in early degrees Leo/Aquarius, every planet except Venus and Neptune are in the very first degrees of their signs. That's a new spirit of life trying to come in as the human race tries to end the response to the old. It won't be noticed at first, all will seem the same but it isn't. A greater move toward spirituality (not religion) is here, chaos always accompanies the very end of things and the very beginning, that is exactly where we are as a world and as individuals. Be sure to watch your driving.
Forget about what the government is doing right now and consider your new dreams and hopes and we can make them happen over time.
The energy around us is electric and intelligent. This is another step in the "quickening" and it can be exciting or desperate, it depends on how we look at events.
Pay attention to your intuitions, you will notice an increase in psychic ability now and throughout August particularly.

I was thinking about the "big picture" astrology and psychic energy brings and a lot of it sounds very frightening, a lot of what astrologers and psychics and prophets in the big picture sounds and looks like bad news and a lot of it will seem bad when it happens, but there will be breaks in the dark clouds as we work our way out. The Cardinal signs will feel the energy first so look to your Sun,Moon and Asc to see if they are Cardinal (Aries,Cancer, Libra or Capricorn)The angles that Cardinal rules is 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th. Those will be your personal houses that will be affected for all as well as the houses in your chart where your cardinal signs rule, in some area of your individual lives you will almost immediatly feel the changes happening to you and around you. From birth to death our lives are marked by changes, some we like some we don't but we soldier on and watch the changes in our lives and others. The planets in the sky right now are signaling us that new and massive changes are upon us and we have the opportunities to get up from our ruts (my favorite things) and embrace our lives ahead.

Milbridge Days; our birthday celebration. Aware of of the planetary positions, I looked up our chart. Bingo! Milbridge has 0o Libra ASC conjunct the T saturn/mars, jupiter/uranus opposition, N sun 22o cancer, moon capricorn 1o capricorn on the 0o cap. IC, conjunct progressed sun 0o capricorn! Aries moon moving through the 7th house today.
SS for the T 7o leo sun is " A Communist Activist
Spreading His Revolutionary ideas!"
Appropriate for our Democratic Party presentation in the parade today.
I spent A LOVELY AFTERNOON yesterday, 3 crones over 65, decorating Harold's shiney red Ford truck. ( desceased town Dem chair, that I am defacto replacing!) His Widow was very pleased that I thought of doing this in memory of Harold, & while she went out to dinner with friends, her sisters & I taped & stapled, the posters banners etc.One of them will drive the truck today while I toss candy & beads from the back.
A bonus for me, Catherine, the sister who lives in the Portland area had a phone call from a friend while we were working. It was my favorite mural client, that I haven't talked to since 2001, when I painted a backdrop for her son in law for his Club Med official Photographer job.
SHe is looking to move house to a one story rancher & will have me redo the murals in the new house. SHe is one of the nicest kindest people I have met, & I have been following her adorable Grandchildren on facebook, posted by their Father!
Rep Michaud, won't make it, didn't leave DC last night, but his office drove the 3 hours out from Augusta to bring us campaign signs for the truck.
Back home, my new neighbor across the street, brought me brownies to the door. 2nd time she has brought treats this month.? They have been there for a year..........& didn't attend my opening this time last year.? They must have peach pie on the mind, because the tree is so laden with fruit the boughs are almost touching the ground. This is good she can bake the pies, while I paint!
Larry our Distr. St House Rep. will advise me on that, this am while we have coffee & doughnuts, before the parade launch. He had a landscape biz below, I tells me I need to weed out the fruit to allow some to grow bigger & jucier! How lucky is that?
And the Bangor entrepreneur popped in unannounced.....to up date on the forthcoming Art Show ( International if you please) LOVED my new painting, designated for his show, and also the poster I knocked out for today's Tidal Arts Show.
Mindful of the Milbridge Melee that made the S F CHRONICLE last year I hope today will go off without conflict!

Alright, I'll share. I'm was SO EXCITED to see all the new posts this morning!
My first observation is your lucid writing, Sally! And how clearly you articulated this unnerving -- feels uber Uranian -- energy. Or maybe it's my ol' Sun/Uranus conjunction talking this morning.
Joanna, that ET reference was hilarious!
Morgana, my sense is that you're quickly acquiring a new set of rules for your life? Ones that suit you better, even though the experiences along the road have been frustrating?
All politics are local, aren't they, qop? And reflect segments of the world at large. I hope your experiences yesterday, and the ones today reflect the breakthrough growth we might expect in the future.
Yesterday I read something from the discussion board on Chiotic Press (I believe that's the website). I thought about you Joanna, and your comments over the years regarding the feminine principle, how it's been murdered multiple times over the centures. I dreamed about it last night. So, my question to Sally and Morgana is this -- Are part of the planetary tensions (between the masculine forces) with Venus and Neptune as singletons pointing the way to greater feminine/masculine balance? We've had quite enough chest thumping. It's time for some sustainable creativity. Now, that would be a HUGE revolution!

you are absolutely right Karen there will ultimately be a greater balance between the masculine and feminine principle. That was actually set off with the crossing of Neptune and Uranus over Aquarius and the US South Node at 7 degrees Aquarius and then on the US Moon at 27 degees Aqu, it's all what the US "left behind" in their great democracy - women and minorities. This old earth has already had a run with the feminine and we are now fighting against the long run with the masculine and yes Karen we are finally going to try a balance between the sexes to run the world. Well, not tomorrow but that's where we are headed.

Scanned the paper this am. No untoward incidents yesterday.......everyone was in high good humor & enjoying the event, Theme was Hawiian, bringing a lot of grass skirts leis, & flamingos to Downeast!
I heard one more good entrepreneurial story.
Our former choir director, who left us in May, when her Minister husband got a regular church and she now goes to support him on Sundays, showed several of her very nice paintings with us yesterday. She set them up & left because she had to pick and deliver organic vegetables,to several area restaurants, INCLUDING the one where the Obama's ate, 2 weekends ago! She also gives music lessons.............With a little of this & that we get by.
In case anyone hasn't seen this I repost it.

"The agony of breaking through personal limitations is the agony of spiritual growth." Joseph Campbell
(from my facebook discussion)
Terra Wolfe
"The mystical theme of the space age is this: the world, as we know it, is coming to an end. The world as the center of the universe, the world divided from the heavens, the world bound by horizons in which love is reserved for members of the in-group: that is the world that is passing away. Apocalypse does not point t...o a fiery Armageddon but to the fact that our ignorance and complacency are coming to an end."

I read about a 92 year old woman here whose house of 50 years was set on fire by sparkes from a passing train. The train company settled generously with her and a reporter asked her what she was going to do with all that money and she said "rebuild." Oh there was snickering and along with criticism but I thought "now there is a woman with faith in the future, in her future and that's what Joseph Campbell and many many others are trying to say; Armageddon isn't the end it's the beginning of the new. A new opportunity for a new life.

One of the interesting things is that women may be asked to pick up the pieces and rebuild something better.
I've been reading books about women leaders lately and I saw my sister running a family reunion dinner, and have started thinking: "of all of the 300 million people in this country, there isn't one woman who could run it with efficiency and dispatch? Women who can remember every business colleague by name and the information about their spouses and children, can't somehow remember how to handle both allies and diplomacy with dispatch, inspire people to help out with democratic chores, and somehow run the country?

I don't have long but here I am dear ones-the only thing between us right now is space and some $$$$ and as we know money comes and goes so I will be back!!!
CarolJ (aguariusmoon) yes we(the women) will be the ones to clean up and rebuild because we have our strength within and we are for the most part grounded in love because mothers have to put others first and this is good training regardless of what some say this is VERY GOOD training for leading the world so that all of us eat and have shelter from the storm and a safe place to rest. Believe it or not there have always been those mystics who knew that the Christ figure in Jesus was the Feminine come to save our butts from the cruelty of the cycles of masculine imbalance. Now at the end of that cycle (Pisces Age)seems as though we are waking up to that reality.
Love to you all this morning.

Women have been picking up the pieces since the beginning of time, although we've most often worked as partners women have not been valued as a partner or respected. Almost a male and female view that women aren't that important and that what they do is unimportant. Future generations will see that concept differently. Somewhere within I believe men fear not having power over women and the truth of the matter is they don't except through violence and then we fear.
It takes generations to change social concepts but they are changing and that change is speeding up.

Picking up the pieces!
Eleanor Roosevelt, designed & wrote, most of the UN Charter after WWII, being the ONLY WOMAN on the Committee, the men LET her do the work! Some have been bashing that initiative ever since.
When Uranus went into it's own sign Aquarius in'96,
Pres. Clinton selected Albright, as the FIRST FEMALE Sect. of State. With a 4 yr. step back for Powell, we then had Rice and now Clinton as SOS.so for 10 of the last 14 years, the country has had a male/female team at the head........in recent history, compared to 224 years of all Males! Of course all females are not =. We must avoid Pres. Palin! That would be a Neanderthal set-back!
The combination of the dismanteling of the middle class, AND the Pluto in Libra Gen. ( sharing & partnership) seems to be leveling the playing field and creating a balance. I observe so many younger men, proud of & supportive of their spouses career trajectory, who pitch in with the child rearing and domestic duties, instead of trying to keep the "little woman" in the kitchen. This may be due to an external force; She earns more, he wants & so he falls into line? rather than an internally generated change? What do YOU think? Or some of both?
My question is....What can we here at AW do, in our own immediate environment, ( Or the world at large) to facilitate this positive movement?

Forgot to post. My friend Candace came for dinner last night...........talk, ( gossip) turned to 2 men in their early 60's, both on their 5th woman.
One was her ex-boyfriend of 5 years........during which time she did all those womanly things, baked, cooked, Mothered his sons, mediated between him & his employees,( He being a control freak) ( even learned how to make a bureau with professional drawers; you'll appreciate that, Karen ) KNOCKED herself out, & at the end got terminated in a rather ugly way. His grown son, working with him this summer ( & having learned to say calmly " Your full of Sh--, Dad," on a daily basis to keep the peace,) visited her and reported that G F # 5 sits back in a chair with a book, letting the disfunction swirl around her, & gets respected for it!
The other guy....similar situation. I tried to pass on a message to him through his wife, last week. She was taking a workshop and she gently & kindly asked me to e-mail him myself, subtly pointing out that SHE was a separate entity.
I am reminded of Catherine Parr, Henry's 8th & last wife, who outlived him.................

Great posts all.
Clymela. . .Can we do a fund raiser for you?
qop, quite interesting post. And so, I'll embark on the following.
The onset of Catholicism with emphasis on male dominance was made possible by the murder of feminism. Through the centuries, women adopted certain psychological as well as physical safeguards. Those same safeguards, however, became a distorted perception of what feminism includes. I believed, and wholeheartedly, that the sixties were the advent of a change in perception regarding feminism. Personally, I fought a battle with the small college I attended regarding the dispartiy in rules between men and women. That battle continued after I left and was eventually resolved. There were many such battles at the time.
Imagine my horror as it became evident that the world of marketing began to define women as objects once again -- revealing clothing, etc.
I'm not sure abandoning our "care" taking is the answer to creating a shift in feminine consciousness any more than burning our bras did. The shift will come when we stop dying our hair, for instance, and begin to embody the wise crones we are. Not accepting disrespect, and in fact countering it with our wise grace.
I truly love to cook, and garden, and create via art and woodwork. It is not a burden to me to partner with the person I love. However, he too cooks, and gardens, cares for the bees, etc. Perhaps his Pisces Sun has something to do with that. :)Further, our discussions range far and wide and include those aspects of breaking traditional mindsets regarding the feminine and masculine. And yes, I am most lucky.

What an amazing conversation!! I never tire of this-ever. Both my parents were Aries and my father had to assist his mother who lost a leg to the effects of pellagra in her youth and so my sister and I didn't even know that women were the weaker sex because there was total respect between our parents however both m y sister and I encountered the fear and contempt toward women and we were very hurt even wounded by that plus the class issues that those in relative povertiy can get fixated on.
Enough of this but Karen I am Catholic because I had experiences with the Mother Mary before I even knew anything about her. I no longer practice because I cannot even say the Nicene Creed/Apostles Creed. One morning I felt a sharp fire move from my head to my feet as I realized that whoever drew up these words did not believe them and did not NEED to believe them that they are the words for the slaves and workers to keep them in line, I just KNEW and that has been the end and I miss Mass to this day. Also the old Liberation Theology priests and nuns are either dead or retired and the new ones here in Berkeley seem to be in step with the new Pope and this all breaks my heart.
And yes!!!! let us rejoice in our juicy Crone years and all the work we can get done now. I give thanks always that I am free now of the tax of the reproductive years. Who would have thought that the best was yet to come but I just love these years when I am free to work and create and love with the freedom of childhood but with Crone power.
Love to you all-really. I will check in until the prosperity weather changes and you know that it will.

Where in the heck did you find that report on the Gulf Loop, qop? It's just excellent, albeit frightening. On Starlight, "squall" posted a link to a magnetic-flux solar event as well. Various scientists have been following the increased solar activity, and predicting the kind of communications mayhem this article suggests may happen quite soon.
When I consider Sally and Morgana's predictions, as well as Nancy's and others, I've often wondered how the Earth's own cycles and systems link to the energetic manifestations. Interrupting the Gulf Loop, simultaneously coupled with solar disruptions could be a trigger in forcing the kinds of changes necessary to a sustainable world.

Thanks for the link to Bill Herbst's article. I do think that he is writing about the Pluto in Capricorn archetype not simply the season of Pluto in Capricorn. I have encountered more than one person writing about this and I don't think that it is prophecy rather it is a clear image of Pluto in Capricorn. Saturn in Libra is exhaulted and relates to marriages as well as the justice and judicial system plus the Constitution, along with work to balance relationships of all kinds. Libra after all does insist on "what's fair is fair" and Saturn in Libra is unrelenting in making sure all is fair and just. Saturn, making its absolute last turn in Virgo slipped into Libra, as if on que Judge Walker ruled that California's Proposition 8 was unconstitutional opening the door for gay and lesbian marriages. I didn't read his entire brief but they say it was brilliant and would be difficult to strike down. This will go all the way to the Supreme Court. It's not just the Saturn influence but the opposition between Saturn and Uranus, and Uranus can be characterized as "breaking up that old gang of mine." Jupiter is conjunct Uranus providing support and extra steam to progressive agenda's right now, it's time for progressive's to raise their voice and they will be heard. Jupiter and Uranus together will be chomping at the bits to break up the old ways of doing and seeing things and hard to stop the movement forward toward the new, even if we don't "love" all that's new or will be new in the world, it's still coming.
Ellen Keagan (sp?) was also confirmed on this aspect, I suspect she will strive to bring balance, much as Sandra Day O'Conner did until Dec. 2000.
Marriage and Divorce will be on the agenda for the next couple of years with lots of them. In the 70's Pluto was in Libra redefining relationships with the hippy "flower child" type of relationships and break-throughs for women in divorce actions, now Saturn is there and Pluto is squaring, again another "push me, pull you" attitude amoung the people, remember these aspects affect the whole world not just our little corner. Anyone for an example remember when it was illegal to marry between the races in the 60's, I read that when Obama's parents married and he was born, there were still 22 states that had banned interacial marriages, it was Saturn in Capricorn then, now it's Pluto. There will be a real shaking up for some folks.

Been away from this site for awhile. Enjoyed reading all the great posts, and glad to see that all the old-timers are still around, especially Sally. Sally, your July 31st, 8:31 a.m. post is so a propos to what is taking place in my life right now - me of the 0-1 Libra MC, and Uranus posited at 0 Cancer, all cardinal houses. Yes, it's been a wild ride, still is, but there have also been some moments of peaceful calm for reflection in between, and along with the shattering disappointments, there have been some bursts of sunshine through the clouds. My English friend of 40 years just received a death sentence from her doctors - only 2 months of earthly time left, but she's not letting it stop her, she's still painting, and enjoying life. I think the grand cross in the sky did bring a lot of misery to peoples around the world, particularly in Moscow, Pakistan, China, etc., and more to come most likely. On a local level, it coincided with some deadly vehicular accidents on the road, so Sally was right about taking care with driving, but no matter how careful you are, when the grim reaper shows up, you just have to go. One example which stood out - a man high on drugs and alcohol driving down the street at 80 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone, crashed into another car carrying a father and 3 sons from out of town, on their way home from the movies - all killed - destruction at its worst on an individual scale. The drunk driver suffered only minor injuries.

Hey Crystal, nice your back!
On the positive side of the ledger here...........
Perfect Bliss! Picking ripe peaches off the tree in my front yard. I guess you are never too old for new experiences!
You know that one Morgana! Wish I had plums etc. as well..Next spring, I will plant an orchard!
Candace informed me that the cherry tree by the car park is a good source for jam. ( Not a choke cherry) Too much pit, too little flesh for just eating!
And now for the ripe blackberries down the hill.......

I think the worst of fires across the world will become greater Crystal because that grand cross is all in "dry" signs, air and fire, I expect flames to be fanned verbally and actually.
Ah Plutonomy: the rich are the only ones producing and consumming, a variation on the feudal system that they have been trying to create throught the world for generations and they have not done a bad job creating it. It reminds me of the movie "Home Alone" where the kid who is the most at risk with nothing to defend himself except his own creativity, and the robbers with a lot that would enable them to get what they wanted were thwarted over and over. That's what has and will continue to happen to the "Plutocrats." Eventually they will have to go away as they destroy each other, gnashing their teeth and trying to figure out another tactic.
without intervention from the Universe this game will continue as it has for thousands of years.

please read this link because this is what is happening to the US right now, it's only a matter of time, in fact right after the election that we will hear the same things. States are already not paving roads, turning off street lights, cutting fire and police, teachers, not to mention jobs, this is going to be really hard to get our mind around, but it's happening, "doing more on less." This is and has been the plan for several decades now and those who have talked about it have been ridiculed as conspiracy nuts and crackpots, well here it is folks, Saturn/Uranus/Pluto

I've missed several posters, including you Crystal. The fires in Russia, the floods and mudslides in Pakistan are receiving very little attention in the western press. And, this is the first I've read about the imposed "austerity" measures in Great Britain (thank you, Sally).
Wealth imposing its will.
Those reaping dividends from abusing others see only their own cleverness. Further, success is viewed in terms of long-awaited rewards for being astute, and more clever than their fellow beings.
When the con-struct of this third, and heavy dimension is de-constructed, those convinced of their superiority will be the most affected.
In many ways I view 2012 as the beginning of deconstruction and the advent of greater awareness.

Perhaps it is because I worked for the wealthy, who generously shared their bounty with me, on the basis of my talent and "charm" if not economic achievement. ( Rockwell Kent early 1900's frequently lived in the homes of his wealthy patrons while painting, with his wife & kids included!)until 1989, when it changed abruptly like a door clanging shut! I was acutely aware of the "new business" practices being employed. Then I came to Maine where they have been practicing that tight non trickle down policy, since Gr. Gr. Grandad sailed to China, so they are still living off his interest. ( The 2 wealthiest women in town did NOT attend our art opening Sat, I noted!)
Marie Antoinette's household goods had been loaded onto a ship, for her escape from the guillotine, which didn't happemn, The Captain sailed back to Maine hastily & her valuable goods have been dispersed & circulating here ever since.
I will contest your timeline a bit Karen. I place the increase of awareness at NOW, with this kick in the groin arrangement of planets we are experiencing now!
And what are WE DOING TOWARD DECONSTRUCTION, BEGINNING NOW?
Baldacci has been quietly, a great Governor, in spite of the limited vision complaints of some constituants, poor Repubs who "believe they will get rich as a result of the Repub, platform.....
He has generated a "region" for commerce, education etc. with New Brunswick & the Maritime Provinces of Canada.
I worry about our next Governor. The Republican candidate, La Page, has already dug his grave and is sitting on the edge of it. The Independant Elliot Cutler has the most political savy & experience, and Libby Mitchell, fully embraces the Democratic platform, but I worry that she is a little too eager to play with the BIG BOYS of the DNC in exchange for becoming the first Female Gov. of Maine!
With so many of my natal planets aspecting the charts of my Town, My State, & My Country......
my assignment is obvious, & I tackle it with enthusiasm.

Where do you find all that energy for all those activities? Hahaha. I sure would enjoy picking pesticide free fruit off trees. Used to in the old country, but haven't done it since I moved here. The heat and humidity index is so high in FL (bug & lightning capital of the world) in the summer, so I try to run all my errands and do all my outside chores early in the morning, so that I'm indoors in the A/C by 9, but can't complain.....at least I still have a roof over my head unlike so many others, so I'm thankful for small mercies.

qop, agreed. And, your astute comparison of Marie Antoinette is priceless. On the local level, those who are accustomed to acquiring power/goods, et al seem to be mirroring the confluence of planetary energies. It's quite animalistic, really. Like squirrels gathering all the nuts they possibly can before winter. The competition gets rather viscious.
I just heard on the radio that Justice Stevens was one of 7 or so on board a plane that crashed in Alaska. I believe he survived. Others were not so lucky, and included quite a retenue of who's who. I cannot disaparage a person because of the company they keep. However, shouldn't supreme court justices have some sort of rule regarding affiliations? I know, i know, a rhetorical question.

Oh my gosh!! what wonderful folk writing here. I checked in here at the Starbucks we come to every morning (free internet)and I was just knocked over by the posts and the wonderful loving consciousness of all of you.
Yes there are huge changes afoot and the wealthy (rich) want everything for themselves which is what has inspired them to gather EVERYTHING they come across that has any dollar value at all.
I had to chuckle over the story from Britain where the politician suggested getting time limits set so that someone could get rid of current renters and therefore free up more housing. Did I miss something there? What would happen to those already in the housing? Well welcome to 7 billion folk and those folk who still live in the world of 1 billion folk.
Any whooooo-I love you all. QOP thanks for the mention of the ripe peaches in your yard. These days as Steve and I walk I enjoy the plums and berries spilling over into the walk ways. And of course there are always the lemons free to those walking by when the lemons spill over onto the public walk ways. We have so far eaten greens and lettuces from our little garden and now I have spinach and green beans growing. No worry about frost here although the rains can rain out the crops for a bit.
Well I will get back to you soon. Really you are all my sunshine-REALLY!!!!

JoannaO, your Aug 10th, 8:29 p.m. post brings back fond memories of long walks on the backroads on the Isle of Wight, while vacationing there a few years ago. There were miles and miles of blackberry hedges laden with fruit along the roads, so we just picked and ate as we walked, and had enough left to make some delicious blackberry jam too. Had a wonderful time on that beautiful island, and lots of nice surprises.

I cannot think of anything that would help this generation rise up than ultra conservative schools trying to squelch a child's independent streak, especially those kids leaning toward independence.
The stars the last couple of week and proceeding forward are malevolent in spirit and that is usually formed in secret to be dumped upon the unsuspecting populace down the road. Those bad boys in the sky are working so hard to set this world up for a huge transformation as a human race. I believe we are about to take an evolutionary leap into social consciousness over the next two and a half to three years. Evolving is never easy and usually not fun but what a rainbow at the end and a better life.

Good Morning ALL!
The Matthew message re-minded of This I Believe's featured recording this week was Aldous Huxley's
"Men have put forth enormous efforts to make their world a better place to live in. But except in regard to gadgets, plumbing, and hygiene, their success has been pathetically small. Hell, as the proverb has it, is paved with good intentions. And so long as we go on trying to realize our ideals by bad or merely inappropriate means, our good intentions will come to the same bad ends. In this consists the tragedy and the irony of history. Can I, as an individual, do anything to make future history a little less tragic and less ironic than history past, and present? I believe I can. As a citizen, I can use all my intelligence and all my goodwill to develop political means that shall be of the same kind and quality as the ideal ends which I am trying to achieve. And as a person, as a psychophysical organism, I can learn how to get out of the way so that the divine source of my life and consciousness can come out of eclipse and shine through me."
http://thisibelieve.org/essay/16673/
How interesting that Matthew's messages resonate with all of us. Each of us is attempting to disempower the dark. At times discouraged, we need visual/aural messages to keep faith. In my mind's eye I can clearly see great swaths of white, pink globes of light when viewing Earth from space. Equally, those dark areas (becoming less numberous) are waning, greying out.

* Thom's blog
German Economy Leaping Forward as Americans Fall Behind
The official figures are showing that the German economy has leaped forward by 2.2% in the 3 mos to the end of June, its fastest quarterly growth in more than 20 yrs. The German national statistics office said, "Such qtr-on-qtr growth has never been recorded before in reunified Germany." The higher-than-expected growth was due to strong exports, helped by a weaker euro. The eurozone economy grew by 1% during the qtr. Another big factor in the continuing growth of the German economy is that during the Great Recession German workers never saw layoffs or significant reductions in pay. This is because all German corpos are required to have a BODs comprised 50% of workers, and that during the financial crisis the German govt filled in the pay gaps of workers working fewer hours. Thus demand never dropped in the German economy, because workers always had a good paycheck, and so their economy continues to be robust.

* Lying and Accountability: Reflections on the Iraq War
By Stephen Eric Bronner, Reader Supported News
Lying has always been part of politics. Traditionally, however, the lie was seen as a necessary evil that those in power should keep from their subjects. Even totalitarians tried to hide the brutal truths on which their regimes rested. Discovering the disparity between illusion and reality, the way the world appeared and the way it actually functioned, gave critics and reformers their sense of purpose. In the aftermath of the Iraq War, however, that sense of purpose became imperiled along with the trust necessary for maintaining a democratic discourse. The Bush adm boldly proclaimed the legitimacy of the lie, the irrelevance of the truth in justifying its politics, while the mainstream media has essentially abandoned its responsibility.
Great Britain has opened investigations into the decision by then-PM Tony Blair to support the American invasion of Iraq. Hardly a world is spoken about them on this side of the Atlantic. Why hasn't a Congressional investigation of the Bush adm taken place in [USia]?
The Iraq War was not simply based on "mistaken" interpretations, or "false data" - as the mainstream media likes to suggest - but on blatant mendacity. No weapons of mass destruction exist in Iraq. No evidence has been discovered of serious connections between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda. It has now become clear that no WMD existed in Iraq. Iraq did not pose a serious security risk to [USia].
All of this has been est'd in Great Britain. CIA officials have stated that they were pressured to make their research results support govt policy. Sec of State Colin Powell has still not offered a satisfactory explanation of the claims made in his infamous speech to the world about WMD. Other important members of the Bush inner circle have admitted that that the nuclear threat served to build a consensus for war. Democracy for the region was quickly abandoned along with, more recently, the war on terror. There never was a serious justification for the invasion of Iraq. Those with a historical bent should be reminded of 1898 and the Spanish-American War, which marked the emergence of USia as a genuine imperialist power, when the publishing tycoon Wm Randolph Hearst told his reporters: "You supply me the headlines and I'll supply the war." ... http://www.readersupportednews.org/opinion/34-34/2666-lying-and-accountability-reflections-on-the-iraq-war

Clymela, I feel the same way about Blago. It almost seems as though someone has a vendetta against him - not that he didn't do anything wrong, but the powers that be, just won't give up....they're out for blood.

Or mebbe he made a deal with the govt to take the wrap as one of its eternal scapegoats, then it'll all be forgotten, and he'll retire to some palm tree studded island and eventually drink hisself to death. Mebbe that's what'll happen.

* Summer numbers
Do you remember last summer and the advent of the Baggers? Bile and bilge and ‘populist anger’ that tipped us over into the Dark Side of political and social discourse. All year this has been with us, the sheer ignorance and hysteria of the Glenn Beck stuff, the ‘mean-girl’ sophistry and back-biting of the Sarah Palin stuff. We’ve become ‘used to’ people saying hateful things, cable news discussing dumbed-down talking points for hours on end, politicians and pundits giving us their ‘truth’ while assuming we have none of our own.
Given an entire year of this ugliness — which contributes to our low energy and stress, our despondency and emotional lethargy — we probably shouldn’t be shocked when topics like “terrorist babies” come up or listen to the vicious howl over the proposed mosque at Ground Zero but I, at least, am still shockable — I can’t wrap my mind around the notion that emotional dysfunction supersedes intelligent discussion at the end of this first decade in the 21st C. I refuse to believe that we, as a nation, are this stupid. ... http://polwaves.planetwaves.net/

"Unemployment is a lagging indicator -- the jobs are coming": The Obama Adm and Dem Party leaders fall prey to their own version of trickle down economics when they argue that their mammoth Wall St bailout and puny, short-lived stimulus program will bring back jobs for regular Americans (eventually).
Money was no object when it came to bailing out every bank and investment house that could possibly be put on life support. By some estimates the financial sector got over 10 trillion in bailouts.
Economists Nouriel Roubini and Stephen Mihm est that Goldman Sachs alone got 60 billion in direct and indirect taxpayer largess. I have questions for everyone, that i'll get to shortly. Last night I dreamed that I had a shift in consciousness. I felt as though I was wide awake. This morning I cannot recall the details, at least not yet. My questions are -- what are each of you experiencing in this regard? And, are you experiencing body changes that are unusual? Are your dreams/imagination becoming more colorful, unusual, or intense?

Karen-I couldn't get into he site for a couple of days and now I have only read yours since I start at the bottom and read up to where I last was and I got your questions.
Dreams so lovely. Last night I dreamed that Steve and I inherited a drab and dark apt in Oakland. Only two room save the kitchen and bath. We totally renewed the apt with extra windows and paint and new wood-the redone and renewed apt was so lovely and everyone wanted to be there and we had the most wonderful times with our friends.
This was a wonderful memory this morning after a summer of conflicts leading to the ending of a couple of friendships and even the rupture with parts of family who are so born again that I can no longer reach them so swept away are they and so earth bound am I.
joanna oregon-as I listen to the news what I come up with is that all the money is being withheld in the hopes that this can lead to a Republican Congress that can stop Obama's SOCIALIST TAKEOVER of the US. I mean these suckers will stop at nothing and they don't care if we all end up in Civil War in fact I think that they hope for this-the better to control things.
So happy that I could get back in this morning.
GOOD MORNING AND BLESSINGS FOR ALL OF YOU/US

"shift in consciousness" ? YES!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x122105
"Remember in the last update when I said...."if we can walk through this VERY narrow doorway, fully present and completely void of an agenda, we will experience a major shift on many levels"?
Well, not that I need to tell you, but we are still trying to squeeze our full-bodied selves through that very small opening. And our success rate...or the ease by which it happens... has everything to do with the "completely void of an agenda" part.
Truth is, most of us want through that doorway so badly that we are trying e v e r y t h i n g we can think of to bust down that door and get the hell out of Dodge.
We're being forced through sheer frustration to find our way out of this paradoxical box we've locked ourselves into...forced into surrendering to a new way of seeing and doing things, to accessing and using a whole new set of tools in an entirely new realm of human experience.
Trying and Prying
The last few weeks...but days especially...feelings of hopelessness and desperation abound. We have been frantically trying to access this portal to our new lives, scraping our nails against the grain, in search of even the tiniest clutch hold that will offer us the ability to pry that door ajar.
Each time we find a groove deep enough to leverage the door's heavy mass, we loose our grip, the door slams shut and we fall back into our old ways, into those old energies that we are fighting to be free of.
Our physical bodies still screaming..."UNCLLLLLLE!"...bucking in complete defiance of integrating another ounce of light or pushing our way through one more day without resolve.
I recently mentioned that this letting go process was very similar to physical death in that we must first release all emotional attachments to get to the other side where love will abound in greater measure.......snip........
It's our nature to hold on...but just as with all endings, the desire to hold on eventually begins to wane and we are left facing the uncertainty of "what's next?"
Right now we are at the stage of releasing the deepest layers of human attachment, and that includes the desire to hold on any longer as well as our long-time companion...HOPE. From a higher perspective, hope is really just resistance in disguise. It's a candy-coated expression of doubt, discomfort with uncertainty, dissatisfaction with what-is, and an inability to surrender into full presence.
Because we are stepping so fully into our authentic selves, we are losing our strength and ability to hold onto to anything...and hope is the last to go. Contrary to Forrest Whittaker's vision in 1998...hope-doesn't-float here. In fact, it will sink us if we try to hold on.
_________________________________________________
So don't be alarmed or confused if you can't muster up the energy to be-lie-ve in the outcome of this journey anymore...you're not supposed to. We literally can't take hope with us because it's too dense............................."
I am through the door! Hurray! It is light and I FEEL as if all my wishes have been granted. They haven't! I have never felt so open or free in my life! I keep being told how young I look.
My best painting to date, Pluto, We Are All Downstream; in Bangor for a show, was featured on the evening news Weds. No $ just recognition...............
& $ I need. Through a paperwork screw-up the phone company turned off my Internet/ phone service for 24 hours, ( yup! mercury retro!)
If I had ample money it wouldn't have gone to the nth hour ........ So I missed the troops out of Iraq! We have been hoping for, for how many years? Thats OK; it happened with out my witness!
I am not remembering my dreams, but I wake up happy every morning so I presume they are happy dreams!

Read the bottom if you wish but I must say that my sister in St Joseph's hospital,Denver is diagnosed with lung Cancer after dramatic leave from jet plane to ICU there. The good sign is that she is pissed. Prayers and Reiki requested. My granddaughter and I are cleaning her room getting rid of the cigarette smoke to our ability, to make all as beautiful and sun filled as we can. I suspected because she was overwhelmed by pneumonia so suddenly and she has had a terrible cough that she thought was normal but which I thought was whooping cough which MD said no too but the med office did call and request a lung x-ray and I thought that this was just part of her work-up we have been doing which was pissing her off due to the invasions of every opening-you all know what I am talking about. I am a little slow responding but steady once moving along a designated path- preponderence of fixed planets.
Woke up from a dream that was almost a waking dream so shallow was my level of unconsciousness (ooooh quoatation marks key is not functioning). Clothes and home for a new baby not clear if mine by physical birth but mine by obligaation getting baby in school, etc. Involvement with sophisticated international type man very sexy in a mature 60's/t0's way. go through all manner of changes as social worker getting people enrolled in classes they need, etc plan to cook him a tenderloin (teehee!! no?!)and walk in on him asking two friends to do the cooking because I don't leave things alone enough. Overhearing this I just leave and head out to catch a bus/tram/BART/truck whatever to get on the highway literally a highway had to climb about four feet UP to the main road and there i see many folk that I know and want to get the baby and myself to the bus stop in time.

qop...congratulations! There are times when I wake and say "thank you!" aloud. Other times when I am picking up on others' pain or suffering. It's a mixed bag and your post on "hope" is spot on. Dropping preconceived notions can often be vexing. Much like "not taking it personally" can be one of life's greatest challenges. Those challenges, however, far out distance letting the cement set up on our feet.
Clymela, I too dream of houses. Their significance is individual, as are the details within the house. The house generally means the body, and renovation may mean that you are successfully taking on a new way of being.
Children can indicate a new idea. In this case, it may be one you have to protect and nurture. The "reality" feeling of the dream seems to give it more significance.
The clear cutting continues on this beautiful mountain. A developer has purchased several hundred acres. Red oak, white oak, tulip trees, cedar, sweetgum, and more -- all hardwoods. The atmosphere is dense with particulate. And when the heavy rains come, I'm certain runoff will impact the small city of Dunlap which sits in the bowl of the magnificent Sequatchie Valley (some have compared it to the Shenandoah). Attempting to "let go" of my deep-pitted sadness fails when I hear the echo of trees' cries against the throbbing and tearing of huge machinery.

Clymela I am so sorry to hear about your sister. St. Joseph is where I was and I don't live far from there. Would you like me to go see her? I would be more than happy to do so.
I am moving and I am so happy. I am moving to the place I used to live, it's smaller but it will save me $500 or $600 a month. My landlady and I are very fond of each other and i feel safe there. My cancer has returned to settle so far ON my liver not yet IN it. I will be starting an even more agressive chemo in a couple of weeks but i still don't feel frightened. they have lots of options.I don't even feel angry, i am so overjoyed with gratitude at the love and support i've received and the beautiful summer i've had, most days my heart just swells.
I am posting something below but just wanted to get a go ahead to visit Clymela's sister and tell everyone what's happening. I am however angry at the chaos i am in trying to move.

Sometime in 1982 or '83 a man began channeling an entity called Hilarion a book called Nations was supposedly channeled by him (I don't have the book) but recently i read an excerpt from that book as he ended his channeled predictions of what was to happen during this time. He talks about the problems for America and the tribulation (I don't like that word, all is tribulation, birth, death, jobs, finances, illnes and after that joy, anyway) it would experience. His following words struck me
"This great country must have its rebirth, along with all the rest. In many ways she is the greatest nation the earth has ever known. But she is flawed today by a blindness that has crept into her perception of the world. In the terrible years ahead, although she herself will be preserved almost to the end from the full onslaught, she will see with increasing alarm the destruction and the loss which the baser passions of man will bring."
"At last, in an agony of the soul, America will again stand forth with her love, to rescue and nurture the peoples of the world whose nations have collapsed and disintegrated in the terrors that man has brought upon himself. By that act, she will again and for all time be purified. In the new age that will dawn for mankind, America will lead the world as a great and burning beacon of truth, of justice of peace and of purity."
I really don't belive the human race is evil or vain, we are just ignorant or complacent or asleep, because of that we as humans have a distorted view of the world and how to relate to it, most countries aren't much different than we.

Does anyone remember these US films that were shown to school children to remind them of the dangers of Nazi's and how not to let it happen. Some of you may have seen this on DU but if you haven't it's worth the time. How far have we really come, how much into facism have we fallen, or did we ever get out. The Master Race, why do some need to believe they are the Master Race or the elite or better than anyone else. Listen to this from the late 40's, let me know if you hear anything familiar

I always thought the quote from I think, oh I can't remember was great
" the kings sit on the mountain top with all of it, everything they could ever want and they throw crumbs down to the masses and we scramble, fight, steal and murder each other to get those crumbs, instead we so outnumber the kings, one wonders why the people don't just storm the hill."

I remember well when I stopped being afraid of "authority" figures--you know THAT meme--I had read "The Great Cosmic Mother" and every footnote. Well I haven't been the only one, of course. Not necessarily that book, but it indicated that the propaganda machine against the truth was being dismantled wholesale for all of us. Come to think on it, the writers of that wonderful book were from that part of the world, Monica Sjoo & Barbara Mor. It still can be purchased, too.

Thom's blog
Iceland is Exporting the Truth
After Iceland's near-economic collapse exposed deep-rooted corruption, the country is looking to become a safe haven for journalists and whistleblowers from all around the world. Their Parliament in June unanimously voted for an Icelandic "Modern Media Initiative" protecting journalists. The project is taking off with the help of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. This comes while there is a growing tendency of govts to muzzle secret info on the internet. Birgitta Jonsdottir, the member of parliament behind the initiative, said, 'We took all the best laws from around the world and pulled them together, just like tax havens do, in order to create freedom of information and expression, a transparency haven." Some countries export oil, some countries exports cars, and now Iceland want their main export to be the truth. If George W Bush was still president the bombing would begin tomorrow.

Okay!! my sister is with son and family in Nashville where she is being treated like a queen with all new clothes suited to their climate-the Levis, knit tops and hoodies used here will not work for the 90 degrees with high humidity there. The family has embraced her with all their Jesus love, etc.and I am excluded and so it is. I feel your love and light for me and I love it and I am going out today to pick even more berries and the sun is shining and so what if i awakened weeping today- like the Gemini I am there are many many ways to take things.
Sally-fu-k the news regarding your health! Do you have help with the moving? OOHH! moving is sooo dificult once we are mature and have real roots gnarly old things with strings all over the place. I remember when I could move with a car a couple of boxes-no more even though I continue to honor poverty (willing to have a new outlook my friends Reiki and prayers requested and accepted here).
Sally thanks for the info regarding the channeling. I believe that America is still growing into that sacred City On The Hill. The wealth and power released when we dropped the bombs to destroy Nagisake and Hiroshima have caused us to stagger in our moral path but still we have had the Civil Rights acts and are struggling to free same sex partners AND to accept Islam as one of the main paths of faith in the WORLD. I believe that we will continue to build this City On The Hill for everyone and, I pray, every part of creation such as my cats, etc. the spiritual foundation here will not be destroyed by the material although god knows many of us will be done in by greed and avarice and bigotry but the foundation of this gathering will not be undone although perhaps hindered. I just know this in my gut and bones.
I have been slower to lose my fear of authority-too much wrapped up in rebellion perhaps but these days the authority comes across as such bozos so lame and insignificant. I mean for this Catholic woman loving her Mother listening to the current Pope is disconcerting to say the least. I mean grown-up 21st century men preaching 17th century science and philosophy? Are they kidding? I have a feeling that when Jesus comes back in our hearts and minds they will feel silly eating off their golden bowls with silver spoons with no one to love and no one to love them and a New World aborning all around them never needing to consult them. And don't even ask me about our Actor For Governor and his dream of a big fat death row prison when people are hungry and looking for work. Really don't ask I get very vulger when speechless.
Well I don't know if I should post this or file it in my own little blog area-a pure stream of consciousness coming after shock and stress and sorrow. Love to you wonderful companions.

Clymela, let them take care of your sister, she will get tired of it soon enough if she is really as pissed off as you say and be back.
As far as losing respect for authority, I remember my dad saying to me when I was about 6 and in first grade, "Sally, you have no respect for authority and it wil cause you alot of problems when you grow up." Course I hasten to add he did not respect authority either.

the odd thing Karen, is I moved from that place 7 years ago and moved into where I am now and I signed the contract for here on a Mercury retrograde, I wondered at the time if I would be going back there. So here I am, don't know why I'm going back maybe to regain my health, I just don't know. But here we are on another mercury retro and almost in the same spot as it was 7 years ago. Often when one moves on a mercury retro, one moves again on a mercury retro but not necessarily back to the place they used to live. Very odd.

Sally-I have also seen mortgages, etc signed during the Mercury rx period and evidently the rx signifies the end of the process. With yours I am thinking that perhaps this refers to you and the owner? Don't you have the same 'landlord'. At any rate thankfully you have this limb to jump to and you don't have to worry about the safety of the move on all the different levels that one can perceive safety.
I am really wishing that this was all done takes so much to get moved.
The candidate for governor, Meg Whitman, has taken out after the poor threatening to imprison welfare frauders. A parent with two children gets $634 plus food stamps and Medi-Cal even the actor said recently that there just wasn't the level of fraud that his administration expected to find. My head is spinning in observing the malevolence of Whitman-I see it shining all over her and I just can't imagine that other sensitives don't recognize the energy
At any rate I hate to see the very poorest of us dragged out again to be beaten up and cursed by someone who has so much money that some societies could run for years on her accumulated treasures. She is truly a cruel person, truly cruel.

Joanna, unfortunately the only rebellions that appear to be getting any press right now are those that divide us even further. And, the shameful Glen Beck ego exhibition coming up Saturday is one of those.
There are so many behind the scenes warriors working on that "justice for all" promise. Letting the general population in on that, however, defeats the above purpose.
Alright. . .another dream. . .
This one an epic. The conflict of a millennium between the major (contrived) religious powers. The contrived aspect of ALL relgious doctrine is exposed. The dream was far more involved but this was the theme.
I woke wondering about the latest re-emergence of UFO information, and how that might play into such a revelation.

I have tried several times to add y ideas here but I am really twirling in circles and not making a lot of sense.
Karen-seems to me that religions (all of them) are having to face the light these days. The contrivance?? Making the spontaneous words and thoughts of true mystics fit into our thought/conversation boxes or forcing their thoughts and words to fit out belief in morals, etc. when as in Christianity a simple- love your neighbor as yourself- is easily the work of a life time. I know I have written about the 'light' going on for me one Sunday morning in Mass when I knew that I no longer believed the Nicene Creed. I simply realized that the 'good fathers' put these words down in order to keep the 'lesser ones' (ohhhhh! thank you 'good father' Alan Simpson). I of course was already opened up due to the study of astrology and various religions from around the world and around time.
Sending love and good energy to everyone reading this.

I am sorry to hear about your sister Clymela but they do have some equally agressive drugs and tumors that are agressive react better to those drugs for some reason.
I have a new granddaughter, born Wednesday night at 11:30 pm was as the hospital most of the night and then had their two year old twin boys yesterday and last night. Pretty hectic two days. Sally-wonderful happy news of the lovely Brooklyn Louise-what a wonderful name. Twin brothers-WOW your house must have been hopping what with the moving and then the twins. I know that I felt tired just thinking about all that is going on iin your life.
Virgo Pluto trine Capricorn Pluto-hmmm. I hadnot looked closely there-I think I have just been wrapped up in the quincunx Pluto makes to my Saturn,Moon Pluto-I am not happy, see so much that is wrong and must change-hmmmm!
Thanks for the info on the cancer cells ,the small cell they called them. They did a lot of looking yesterday and are getting ideas for the further treatments-my sister is so grateful for the medical care she is receiving rather than the drive-by care from Kaiser- California Kaiser has gotten very harsh for the providers-I think they are scheduled for seven minutes per patient they are exhausted and so are we the patients. O go to get the drugs that mange things and to give blood so that they can make sure everything stays within bounds.

Whoa! A new grandchild? And Brooklyn? The birth of new child just zings your heart, gives the word awe a deeper meaning. Congratulations, Sally!
Sitting with your twin grandsons reminded me of Arthur and my plans to "run our grandsons like dogs" when we went to visit and knew we would have a whole day to "bend their minds." hahahahahahahaha Well, it ended up the other way around, of course. They ran us like dogs. We did get a little mind bending in there though.
Hugs, Clymela. Big hugs.
Re: Pluto in Virgo generation. Much like the illogic of those who frame and foster economic principle. The long-term results of short-timed planning will yield huge losses for ALL. Same with meticulous torture techniques. Those who develop and apply them could very well be victims of their own creation.
Is the planet herself such a dichotomy of expressions that the human species will always engage in this kind of extreme behavior? Is the attempt to BE balanced more exciting than actually balancing?

A bit of perspective on history and very interesting, dear Seestas!
* The Unmaking of a Company Man: An Education Begun in the Shadow of the Brandenburg Gate
Worldly ambition inhibits true learning. Ask me. I know. A young man in a hurry is nearly ineducable: He knows what he wants and where he’s headed; when it comes to looking back or entertaining heretical thoughts, he has neither the time nor the inclination. All that counts is that he is going somewhere. Only as ambition wanes does education become a possibility.
My own education did not commence until I had reached middle age. I can fix its start date with precision: for me, education began in Berlin, on a winter’s evening, at the Brandenburg Gate, not long after the Berlin Wall had fallen.
As an officer in the US Army I had spent considerable time in Germany. Until that moment, however, my family and I had never had occasion to visit this most famous of German cities, still littered with artifacts of a deeply repellent history. At the end of a long day of exploration, we found ourselves in what had, until just months before, been the communist East. It was late and we were hungry, but I insisted on walking the length of the Unter den Linden, from the River Spree to the gate itself. A cold rain was falling and the pavement glistened. The bldgs lining the avenue, dating from the era of Prussian kings, were dark, dirty, and pitted. Few people were about. It was hardly a night for sightseeing. ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andrew-bacevich/post_751_b_695495.html

Karen, I have always believed that the earth was one open air educational process. Generations always have the experience of being up and down in the same generation. Some are affected more adversly than others and then the wheel turns and everyone gets a chance on the wheel for good or for difficult. I believe we all came here to learn something we needed to learn so we can advance on the wheel or regress on the wheel, all in the process of learning. There has not ever been a generation that has been balanced all together, plus what one culture calls balanced another considers them out of balance. This generation seems to be learning about resources who gets them and who doesn't plus whoever it is that decides. The "balance" we talk about will shift and change as the teeter toter goes up and down. This is what seems to be life and there are those who don't even care where the wheel is in their life they are simply there for the ride, i wonder if those folks feel greater peace and happiness.

The Bacevich article was stunning in scope. He may reject his military training as foolhardy, yet he writes with discipline and clarity. Excellent! More, he nails the reasons why marching our self-imposed superiority throughout the world may result in our own demise. Haven't we all thought the same things? It's been on my mind since I became a young adult, and never left.
Sally, I too believe that this Earth (more reasons to bless her Soul) provides a home for our follies, and as a result, our spiritual breakthroughs. There is a continued challenge in my own life to apply stewardship to the Earth, to see more clearly that others are walking their own evolutionary path, and that my judgments are really nothing more than blocks to seeing life more clearly. The latter's a tough one.
