The foul winter super storms have placed frosty fingers across a broad swath of the US and those not frozen are soggy. The New Moon and Sun are at 25 Aquarius moving to conjunct Chiron and Neptune at 26 Aquarius. Sharing House space with the Aquarian energy finds Venus at 3 Pisces and Jupiter at 6 Pisces spicing up the House with utopian idealism rooted somewhere in the ethers with Jupiter amplifying the effects. Nothing like wide spread frost and frozen precipitation to say hello Climate Change.
All these energies are gathered in the US Third House surrounding the US Moon, the people who find themselves living in Rocky and Bullwinkle's Frostbite Falls. Icy, cold, calculating, tinged with brilliance and genius the Aquarian transits make changes. When not busy whining about damn near everything, Venus and Jupiter can be so annoying in Pisces, however, their dance through the heavens can introduce new trends. They have some redeeming energy. Transiting Venus and Jupiter trine the US natal Venus and Jupiter bringing good luck, good friends and companionable times despite hardship storing good feelings for future events. Since both transiting Venus and Jupiter are passed the US natal Moon the trine will likely bring us favorable international press. Or conversely the world may sympathize with the people of America. Those who are suffering the storms of life, like many Europeans holding American paper, with a failed financial systems unable to prop any of us up (think poor Greece!), a US goverment so corrupt they have given corporations sentience so they may continue to apply leeches to the American people to effect a cure.
Despite a failed government, think US Senate, get the picture? The American people's inate goodness rises to meet the challenges faced by their fellow citizens. As a long time fan of Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" and Dr. Maddow's show they have sharpened the focus of the media lens. Keith Olbermann sounded a clarion call on his show to help the suffering people, here, not Haiti, but in our own backyard. The many Plains Tribes have been decimated by this cruel winter. They have been weeks without water or power and have an unemployment rate of 85%. Keith pointed those klieg lights right on them. The Indian charity had hoped for $35,000.00, they got close to if not more then $250,000.00. Meanwhile the BIA did nothing, nor the Indian Affairs committee, think John McCain's crowd and Do Nothing Dorgan.
There is still much right with America and her people. Aquarius will bring forth new ideas and the new Moon helps to initiate the changes everyone must make in our new reality.
Note: We are aware that many of you are unable to post to AW, including Sally. We are working on the issue and hopefully can get it resolved.

Good article Morgana!
In my neighborhood it was dry, sunny, and warm today. I took a walk on the beach.
However the local economy is beyond frostbite!
I looked at Milbridge's chart tonight. N neptune is 2o pisces with the whiney, irritating, venus & jupiter..........,T pluto just passed over our N moon @ 2o capricorn, as that lawsuit for Housing discrimination, against the town, by Mano En Mano, was initiated.
However I hear there was a satisfactory settle ment this week ( can't find it in the paper).
T Chiron @ 25o aquarius, has sextiled N uranus, in Aries, new energy. & is moving on.........and the progressed sun is 2o capricorn conjunct the moon..........Will this bring a new beginning for the town? Certainly some people are working very hard to make that happen.

The Venus/Jupiter Whine Time -- pefect Morgana. That's exactly what i've been hearing/reading, etc. Part of it is the wholesale disappointment in what many expected of Obama, the other disaffected party of "NO!" reflects the shadow governments' fear of what could possibly be. The latter's psychotic behavior may be the undoing of all that has been (thus fulfilling the Pluto transit through Capricorn). But, it also means that they will "undo" themselves.
I've known for quite some time that those who actually "do" are easy targets especially in politics. Those who feed on the citizens largesse do nothing BUT criticize those who act. It's far easier.

Art, of course, is a window into the soul. It builds meaning from thin air. It measures the pulse of culture, the heartbeat of civilization. All that. But it also is a neat indicator of the unique economics that govern the lives of the Masters of the Universe who buy it.

That is very interesting.
Karen, oh definitely the whine time. I see where Dick Cheney was front and center this weekend. I do not understand why anyone listens to that lunatic. I supposed give him enough rope, ie., air time on tv, and he will hang himself by his own words. I'm surprised hatchet daughter Lizzie isn't out today doing talk show followups.

I keep using the whine theme, Morgana, because i'm hearing it everywhere and from all fronts, as though we've regressed to infancy and can only get what we want by screaming.

From now on your sardines will come from a
foreign country!............
http://tinyurl.com/yjachdt
Kimmel said a reduction in the federal limit on herring was the main reason behind the company’s decision. In 2004, the federal limit on Atlantic herring was 180,000 metric tons, but this year it is only 91,000 metric tons, she said. With such catch restrictions, the plant is no longer economically viable, she said.
“Where it stands now keeps us from production levels that would ensure the plant’s long-term viability,” Kimmel said.
Workers who are losing their jobs are expected to receive severance pay and job placement counseling from Bumble Bee, according to Kimmel.
( except there ARE NO OTHER JOBS IN THE AREA!)
It leaves just 2 SEASONAL PT job possibilities, wreath making & blueberry raking!
It will also affect the price of sardines at the markets........a staple for some, at a low price because of the proximity to the processing plant.

I have an announcement to make!
MOI, QOP,W,C...............is registering to run for State Senator in the Maine Legislature!
IF I can collect 175 signatures from registered Democratic voters in my district and get them to Augusta by 5 pm March 15 I will be eligible to run.
I have been talked into it rather late in the game by the President of the Me Senate herself!
WHat an opportunity!

What I need right now in order to get on the ballot & get a Maine Clean Election Campaign Fund........is.......
125 signatures of registered Democrats from
District 29 on a petition by March 15. cutting it close! Any family members fit that description?
A big problem; my independent thinking progressive friends are registered as independents or Greens....................... We are checking to see if they can switch party registration legally in the time framework.
And I also need 175 donations of $5.00 each from registered Maine voters any party, by April 21.
That will enable me to have a campaign fund of $20,000. I have picked a treasurer to handle the funds ( mandatory) and we are going together Sat.
to Augusta to the Sen. Candidate training.
AS well I can take seed money from any non business source.
Then I decide on my platform, website, PR stuff.........
It is all very challenging and utterly fascinating!

G'day all. The Health Care Reform Summit has sent me screaming into the streets today, but I'm still listening. Mars is sitting on Obama's Mercury .. let's have some fiery rhetoric. His 1st House the an astro confab with Mercury, Neptune, Chiron, Sun, Jupiter and Venus all transiting (Aquarius/Pisces). The HCR Summit MidHeaven sits on Obama's Jupiter in the 11th House of Group Associations, in mundane astrology its the House of the Senate/Congress fancy that.
In the US chart the HCR Summit swirls with lunar energy. T. Moon is conjunct the US Mercury, let's talk about the People...Transiting Mercury, Neptune, Chiron, Sun, Jupiter, Venus and Uranus are in the US 3rd House making a lot of noise for all of us to hear via live web stream, cable news, or cspan radio. America is getting an ear full. Lastly, transiting Pluto is in opposition to the US Jupiter, exponential change is coming down the pipe, unstoppable, irrevocable change. It's about time, let us hope it changes in our favor not the Corporations.

Did I catch that right, that Obama actually threw down the gauntlet in his closing remarks? Six weeks to get it together or we go forward without you. I'll have to catch the replay of it later. Boy lots of sour faces in the Republican contingent. Obama laid it out there that the GOP political atmosphere more or less precluded their active support of any changes and they were too weak willed to move forward despite teabagger crowd. Course he implied that much more diplomatically. And finally closed with will see what the people via 2010 elections. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Oh you caught it, Morgana. The gauntlet is down. I was impressed as hell by Obama. Can you imagine how hard it was to sit there and listen to the same tired rhetoric, and still respond civily, AND with questions? Those who wish that he and this government fail did not have the grace to listen. Reason fell on deaf ears. Humanity was lacking for not one Republican told of a constituent in dire circumstances because of our failed health care system.

Well ...this is certainly interesting! I have to have a separate petition form d for each town.with Voter registrar's sig. and town seal imprinted. Some may contain only 2 signatures. ( One town in the county has only 9 inhabitants....)
Leaped that hurdle and I am finding that the soapbox harranging, qop of the past 6 years is getting high approval ratings, even from some Republicans. They know that I don't have a hidden agenda; it's all hanging out in plain sight and they respect that. My mechanic ( A Republican) said "You live on Wyman Road, ( the other side of the tracks) and you live on a fixed income, it doesn't get any better than that!"
Tonight in the market someone handed me an envelope with a nice amount of seed money, unsolicited!
So it begins!

The leaders embraced by the new grass roots right are a different slate entirely: Glenn Beck, Ron Paul and Sarah Palin. Simple math dictates that none of this trio can be elected president. As George F. Will recently pointed out, Palin will not even be the G.O.P. nominee “unless the party wants to lose at least 44 states” (as it did in Barry Goldwater’s 1964 Waterloo). But these leaders do have a consistent ideology, and that ideology plays to the lock-and-load nutcases out there, not just to the peaceable (if riled up) populist conservatives also attracted to Tea Partyism. This ideology is far more troubling than the boilerplate corporate conservatism and knee-jerk obstructionism of the anti-Obama G.O.P. Congressional minority.
{just to the peaceable (if riled up) populist conservatives also attracted to Tea Partyism.)
This will require critical very clear communication.............but I think I can win over this local group to vote for me. They remember my outspoken anti gov. rants around town.......Iam ONE OF THEM now ( beautiful words to write after a 19 year trial period!) They are signing my petition. Also signing are dispairing Dems............but the real progressives are all registered ( unaffiliated:) ( Green, Independant. Libertarians, Socialists under this name) and it is too late for them to switch to Dem so they can sign my petition. They CAN vote for me in Nov.
I am finding there is a real gap between common sense and legislative restrictions, in the fishing industry! To conserve marine stocks and preserve a life style for those who work in the field; is way out of balance at the moment. Big disconnect between ivory tower legislation & " uneducated" common sense!
Talking to people is very interesting!
I have 41 signatures so far in 4 days ( the first day spent hurdling the legal aspects of petition gathering. Voter registrar's signature town seals, notorizing.........more than getting signatures.

WOW!!!QOP!! I knew that you can do this. Do you have to do it all in person? Could someone put up a table for you? Here in California people put up tables to get signatures for initiatives and for the occasional office aspirant.
Will you talk to finding that balance between marine stock and the way of life? Do you have ideas? Are there any outside interests to lean against?
This is so exciting from here on the far outside.

It's pretty exciting, from the near inside too.
I received the ultimate compliment today, from the oldest of the 5 siblings who grew up in my house.
He said..............you've been here 19 years, you've endured. You're a native now!
Sweet music to my ears, as he & his wife signed the petition & donated their 5. each to the Maine Clean Election Fund.
I also found a campaign manager PR person. She's one of the Milbridge Goddesses........That's 3 of us................Candidate, Treasurer, & Campaign Manager! What an unexpected development from our Labor Day Picnic on the beach!
Yes, Clymela, I do have to do it in person. Going door to door sitting in people's kitchens,
listening, is where I am getting THE ideas....Not my ideas........that I will put together to make my platform.
Of course there are outside interests to lean on, what paradise exists where there are none? AND there are "inside interests" to lean against, worse still!
I now have 51 signatures and about 30 donations!
