BLUE MOON YOU SAW ME CRYING ALONE

By Sally Cheyne McDonald

There is a lot of lore around a Blue Moon and one of them has been set to music as addressed in the title of these 2010 predictions. As many of you know there is a Lunar Eclipse associated to this Blue Moon which just means the second full moon in a month. What could be positive and what could be negative in this Blue Moon?

There is a lot of lore around a Blue Moon and one of them has been set to music as addressed in the title of these 2010 predictions. As many of you know there is a Lunar Eclipse associated to this Blue Moon which just means the second full moon in a month. What could be positive and what could be negative in this Blue Moon?

To begin this 2010 year we are covered in Capricorn with 4 planets in this hard working sign plus the North Node. Capricorn's are normally confident, strong willed, calm, and most interested in building solid foundations. These hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, practical, responsible, persevering, and cautious to the extreme persons, are capable of persisting for as long as is necessary to accomplish a goal they have set for themselves. Capricorns are reliable workers in almost any profession they undertake. With firm stick-to-it-ness they quickly become the backbone of any company they work for. The other quality not readily associated with Capricorns is their true spirituality and over the next several years with Pluto gracing this sign they will have plenty of opportunities to call upon that quality.

What’s to come for all the rest of us, partly turmoil I think. Midnight in Washington, DC on January 1, 2009 finds Venus at 8 degree Capricorn, Sun at 10, Mercury 18 (inconjunct Mars exactly from the 11th (Mars) to the 4th (Mercury) That would indicate angry thoughts and words from groups not expressed very well or inappropriate, but still a continuation of anger and nasty words and signs to let everyone know they don’t like their President.

Venus at 8 degrees Capricorn and Saturn will transit in square to that Venus and square the US Venus I think it will once again be wild spending sprees from the government, lobbyists, and the government (support to the transiting conjunction from Jupiter in Pisces with a sharp pulling at their boot straps from the people. Venus is the star of this year with Venus predominate in the New Year, but also ruling the 10th house of leadership, presidents, and kings, Venus also rules the a nation’s resources such as insurance, banks, bankers, credit card companies, health care and hospitals. We are coming up on a power struggle with all these things and I believe it will be the people who will win and Venus resources who will begin the process of losing. The Huffington Post's suggestion of pulling your money out of the big banks and finding a community bank is a good one.

While the transiting planets of Pluto to Venus would support this, my next prediction is a bit of a psychic flash on my part, still it’s come up for me several times in the last 6 years but I don’t know if it would be this year, that is a credit forgiveness to the people; I even saw an article yesterday about that potential. Tuck this one away and keep your fingers crossed even with that hope we are not out of the financial woods as yet and I don't think we will be for awhile.

Rush Limbaugh. He has the opportunity (second one) to change something big in his life, his chart is a mess. The Universe seems to give a few chances to us. First you get the brush on the cheek, if you don’t pay attention you get the two by four, if you still won't pay attention you will get the bullet, that will come up for Mr. Limbaugh this year. The bullet that is.

Rahm Emanuel and Tim Geitner will either betray or be betrayed and if they betray someone it’s likely it's their President all three need to watch their backs. It will all shake out over the next 9/10 months.

The Solar Eclipse on January 15th falls across President Obama's Saturn in the 12th house, this will be a powerful one for him and could be the first of several awakenings for him, awakenings away from illusions into reality. Plus I would expect some of his staff and even cabinet to leave the WH.

Atlantis will rise toward summer or fall, or at least what they think is Atlantis

Communities and helping each other will become stronger and stronger as we learn to get along with less as will the rest of the world, we are just less equipped or skilled to take care of ourselves.

Bureaucratic paperwork and unnecessary searches at airports will continue to attempt to flourish as this government and other governments will try to slam their jack boot down on the people even further than it is now. More and more coldness in humanity will take hold as a whole, however individuals will show kindness to their family and neighbors, it's just strangers we will show a cold and distant face.

Lots of dramatic starts and the end just falls down. Cardinal signs are great at starting but lag at the finish.

The moon, natural ruler of the 4th house and Saturn natural ruler of the 10th will square all that Capricorn before this year is out, stirring up continuous problems with our home mortgages and with Saturn square Capricorn and Cancer no one will be happy with the government, our patience is beginning to fail us.

As to whether this year will be a good one or bad one just depends on each of us. Everyone who is looking for our culture to return to any semblance of the way things were with higher salaries, lower petroleum, and houses we can afford it will be a bad year. All of us looking ahead to something new and exciting and different will think it to be a good year.

Over the next two years there will be a fall in our currency and a rise in community bargaining "bucks."

We have known for at least 30 years that our government was not serving "the people" but at least while it seemed our coffers were being filled to some degree we looked the other way, that's nearly over, we are in the process of looking dead ahead and looking our "leaders" straight in the eye, the only ones who will win over the next 8 years are those who can look back at us.

At the first of this article I said Capricorn's have a little known quality and that's of great spirituality and building strong foundations, but first the foundation that was built on sand will be washed away. Underneath all this "sand" and "dust" and "illusion" that was built as our country is in the process of being washed away, underneath there is a new world and Capricorn is building it. It's a world of solid spiritual growth, not the tea baggers or the right wing, we are the only ones who know God, but true spirituality with compassion and a more centered nation. Oh we will for sure be more technologically advanced and more disconnected from the whole of humanity but more connected to each other, at least before we come together in a more humane way.

Do some mediation it will help in opening our psychic centers and telecommunication, some are already psychically reading each other's mind.

Next week I will write about how this year will affect each sign in the coming months. Just as a teaser, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will be moving into transformation. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces will feel a lifting of heaviness and reaping rewards for the hard work of Saturn the last couple of years; Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius will move away from denial and confusion and move into a more solid structure in their lives, those are the signs who will be living with the reality of who, why and what this country has become as well as looking honestly at themselves.

I think of God as the whole, not as a big sugar daddy in the sky. I believe we are all a small piece of the divine making up that whole, my wish is we all start pulsing together as the "whole" begins again to create. I want to be a part of that of that creation and I want to see all the creative people here on this site to lend their wisdom and creative talents to the new creation which I know is coming.

You have supported and uplifted and added wisdom and joy to this site. I wish your New Year to be full of prosperity, love, health and joy. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

Happy New Year Sally, we have just under an hour to go on the West Coast.

Rush Limbaugh I am still amazed that after you and I had talked about his chart while you wrote this article that he had health issues. No details yet, who knows, maybe he's having a Tiger moment.

Really thought provoking predictions. I look forward to the conversation. Who knows maybe 2010 will see the return of old friends on AW.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh Sally, That is beautifully written! so positive!

AND here is EXACTLY how it works................
I am already with a small community bank; have been for almost 20 years.......but being busy, and not paying attention last month, I overspent my income. People who have bought calendars in past years are not able to afford them.....so there was no last minute way to correct that situation.....
( I know people, with much larger incomes than I have ) who have done that at Wachovia Bank and wound up seriously in debt with huge bank fees...........I will just have to juggle a little faster in January.

THEN: at one hour before midnight last night I received this response from a member of the Downeast Macintosh User's Group, in answer to a query I had made about what type of wide angle lense I should get for my Nikon digital camera.

["I have a Nikon 990. I believe that's the same family, roughly the same camera, and as far as I'm aware it takes the same accessories. I also have a Nikon wide-angle lens for it.

Considering that the kit is about nine years old and has frankly been gathering metaphorical dust, I will give it to you. The camera, the original box, a quick-start guide, a Nikon strap, the optional AC adapter, and the optional lens. It's yours. I can't swear that the camera works, I haven't turned it on in a couple of years, but it's been well taken care of and stored in a box, in a closet, at room temperature.

If you like, just pay it forward somehow, next chance you get. Maybe donate a couple of toys or blankets to a homeless shelter, or whatever seems appropriate."]

Yes, Pay it forward! Our local Work for Peace Group, inactive for 3 years, is re-forming.and the first problem we will address is the 25% of our local high school students who suffer food insufficiency.

For the last 1/2 of 2009, I have been on an amazing journey of transcendance.......I have transformed from qop ($) through qow (spirit) to qoc (love) ( don't know why the symbols won't copy?)
It is worth all the money in the world!

AND the camera with the wide angle lense will help me capture the beauty ( Venus) of the rocks (Pluto in Capricorn) on the beach, for a new series of paintings that I guess I will call"Beautiful Rocks!" LOL
Happy Happy New Year to all of you........QOC!

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

You covered an incredible amount of ground, Sally. This is powerful stuff because it applies to what everyone appears to be experiencing. You gave concrete examples of how these once-in-a-lifetime energies are transforming us individually and as a society. Wow, i'm going to reread this because i'm sure there's something i've missed!

Happy, Bountiful NEW (10) year. And yes, we can use our energy AND money to help with the transformation.

qo. . .pqs to c... Your calendars are just beautiful. Maybe your local bank would like to buy what you have left and give them to their customers??????

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

That's a good idea Karen......although I don't have
piles of them printed up & sitting around. I call
the printer & order what I need to fill sales.......... I have several orders still to fill...checks in the mail delayed by Merc retro & weather,
BTW: Some of the seeds I planted on the moon in Pisces are sprouting!

* SaLuSa 1-January-2010

Dear Ones, here you are facing a year that promises to fulfil your expectations, and yet many are apprehensive because you have been a long time awaiting the changes that will lift you up. You look to us for signs of fulfillment, as indeed we are the centre figures in all that takes place. Until you are totally involved, it naturally seems out of your hands. So you wait for events to unfold as predicted, and we do our best to keep you informed as to what is taking place. Apart from getting bolder with our presence in your skies, there is not much more we can openly do until Disclosure.

However, off Earth there is a lot happening, and most of our work takes place aboard our ships. To carry out our monitoring duties we do not need to be close to you, and our technology enables us to carry it out from our ships stationed outside of your atmosphere. Although you see our Mother Ships of varying sizes, we prefer to use our scout ships if we need to come nearer to you. We do not normally stay in one position for very long, but on occasions we will remain stationery for lengthy periods to allow you to see the reality of our presence. We are more often than not pursued by your aircraft, but their attempts to apprehend us are quite pointless. We have the ability to accelerate far more quickly than any conventional craft you have, and can defend ourselves with ease should weapons be used against us. We are not out to create unnecessary confrontation, and ours has always been a peaceful excursion when visiting your planet. ... http://www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/First_Contact/mike_quinsey/channeled%20messages/January%202010/salusa__1january2010.htm

Thank you, Sally, for a wonderful start to the New Year. It is hard to realize that on January 23 it will be one whole year since the wrecking crew left the White House.

Plenty of them left--embedded at Justice, DHS, Pentagon, etc. but the Ship of State is slowly, slowly turning.

This year I finally left Bank of America for a small, local credit union. After B of A got their taxpayer bail-out early in 2009, the first thing they did is cut my daughter's credit line. She has a stellar credit rating--highest possible--and she used the credit line to even out her cash flow. (She is self employed.) So she has struggled especially hard this year. She pretty much has to stay with a big bank because her business involves getting wire transfers.

"I believe it will be the people who will win..." I cherish those words of yours.

* A Decade of Dueling Realities

By Judith Gayle | Political Waves

Back in the early ’90s, when the wave of spiritual awareness born of the Harmonic Convergence had begun to take shape and bloom, 2012 seemed far away and full of mysterious potential. We spoke of it reverently, sure that there would be events between then and its arrival that would portend a graceful assent into change and awakening. That was when Pluto was newly in Sagittarius and we had few signs of what radicalism would bring us. In fact, it took so long for us to notice what was creeping up on us, we didn’t really recognize it when it arrived. We knew this period was going to be extraordinary, and we got that right. We supposed it would be difficult, but we didn’t have a clue how much. ... http://planetwaves.net/pagetwo/

I have ignored politics for an entire week and the world has done just fine without my consistent monitoring! In fact, the discussion appears not to have moved much one way or another. I’d suppose it’s still about reality deadlock, as you’ll find here.

I don’t remember the last time I stepped out of the loop and immersed myself entirely in the pleasures of family and friends. I couldn’t do it under Dubby’s leadership, so this has been a lovely holiday for me, a psychic sigh. I’ve colored with my granddaughter, played games with my grandson, cooked with my daughter and laughed with my son-in-law. I’ve visited with dear ones, been lifted by love and done psychic surgeries where required. I’ve gone to the movies, shopped with the Big Dogs and done Tuaca shooters under the stars. Life is good, and I thank you for your patience while I dipped my toes in it. ... http://polwaves.planetwaves.net/

* Red alert or red herring?

Good evening or good morning. I thought I would get a chart going for the suspected security breach at Newark Airport’s C Terminal. Two times are going around (differing by 10 min); after some research and deliberation, I’ve used the one published by the Newark Star-Ledger, which is 5:20 pm, the time a man was seen walking the wrong way through the exit from the non-secure area of the airport into the ’sterile’ area. As a result, the terminal was put on lockdown.

If you’re doing traditional astrology, the chart gives Leo Moon void of course. The last aspect was an opposition to Jupiter (exaggeration; polarized emotions; drama, characterized by the Leo Moon). This is in the 8th house — a good crisis; lots of intrigue; in Aquarius, involving the public, in this case quite directly. ... http://planetwaves.net/pagetwo/2010/01/04/astrology-security-breach-newark-airport/#more-20893

* Fate, Free Will and the Arc of Pluto

Free will. This concept more than any other has the power to invoke all sorts of impassioned reactions when the study of astrology is in the spotlight. I read once that a scientific conference had to be called off in the US due to the ferocity of the protests outside the venue: its subject? The criminal gene. This makes a powerful argument: whether or not there is a criminal gene is hardly the point, people are nothing short of outraged when it is suggested that there may be elements of their lives that are not in their control; indeed, people are, more broadly, horrified by the concept of destiny.

Of course, they’re not especially horrified when the destiny is good. They’ve met the love of their life, and smiling beatifically, suffused with the warm glow of romantic contentment, they are positive about that destiny. “It was fate, we were meant to be.” But suggest that their incipient alcoholism was their destiny too? No thanks.

I would argue that the reason that astrology, perhaps more than most ‘quack science,’ has had such a difficult history, is exactly because it contains this essential hint, that in fact, we do have a destiny. Not the good destiny necessarily, but certainly the bad one. Of course, even a good destiny is a problem for some, because they want to believe that their successes are entirely the result of their character, their determination, their all-round wonderful betterness than the next guy. To suggest that good things happen through fate takes away a large measure of our belief in our own brilliance; it diminishes us, makes us a little less fantastic than we might otherwise be. ... http://chirotic.wordpress.com/

Please let us never go through sh-t like that ever again

Did you feel it? Did you reach up and lick the full, pregnant, bursting blue moon on New Year's Eve? Did you howl and wail and stomp your feet and raise your glass high and say oh my God let us now move and dance and shimmy and finally, finally get this nasty nefarious monkey of a doomed decade off our collective backs once and for all? I hope you did.

... Let us just say it outright: Good riddance to the Zeros. It was, as widely noted, the decade from hell. It was easily one of the worst periods in recent American history, upwards of 3600 days drenched in fear and ignorance and bitter divisiveness, nipples and anthrax and macho shock n' awe, economic implosions and endless con puling about God and gays and terrorism, all slashed through with so much political misprision and presidential ineptitude it's going to require many more years until we the deep, humiliating scars inflicted by Dubya & Co. are fully healed. ... http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2010/01/01/notes010110.DTL

* Did Karl Rove Leave His Wife For Jeff Gannon?
Jon Ponder | December 31, 2009

Only a controversial figure who also happens to be a master media manipulator would have the savvy to bury news coverage of his divorce by scheduling it to coincide with the Christmas week news brownout.

Last week Karl Rove, George W. Bush’s former brain, did just that. He got divorced practically in secret:

No one reported on the divorce until it had already been granted, which indicates the court file must have been sealed for some reason. I’ve seen no indication that anyone in the press has even seen the divorce complaint. It isn’t even clear who filed for divorce — Rove or his wife, Darby?

But why would Rove be so desperate to deflect coverage of his divorce? ... http://www.pensitoreview.com/2009/12/31/did-karl-rove-leave-his-wife-for-jeff-gannon/

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! and we are so grateful to write out the dates of the new year 2010-trips off the fingers so lightly.
I was out of commission for a couple of days because the key board stopped functioning and we had to go get a new one.
Blue Moon: my brother whom I never knew about until I was in my 50's died on the Blue Moon. 12/26/1943-12/29/2009 (already 12/30/2009 in GMT). Sad that we will never get over the abyss in this life time-he a conservative, evangelical preacher/missionary and me-well you all know where I was coming from. Still he was my mother's son and therefore we share the blood and I wanted to know him but we didn't speak after my mother passed. He converted my nephew into a born again,Limbaugh listening, conservative.

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Joanna, i keep meaning to thank you for the links. So, thank you. The Gannon/Rove article is priceless. The comments were hysterical.

qop, your community adventures are opening so many doors. . .and exampling the highest ideal of the current energies available to us. And that is awesome!

And speaking of plants. I brought in plants from the garden to the south-facing room. It's been so cold that i thought i would need to bring them into the interior of the house, but we've been using our woodstove coals (poured in a galvanized can) to heat the room. It's worked wonders. So, i still have peppers, sweet potato plants, and some volunteer tomatoes too.

Ah, Clymela. I'm so sorry to hear this story about your brother. Was there any resolution at all before he died?

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thank you Karen and the answer is No! There was no resolution in his lifetime. No resolution within me at this point but I do trust that I will understand in time. I do know that I felt that his religion and beliefs blocked any real touching between us but that is how I see it and perhaps my nephew will be able to expand my understanding. Thanks for asking. As an astrologer I was fascinated by his passing now and he was an "Aries point" individual-Sun 0CAP47!! Slam slam and the Venus Moon in Scorpio-heavy duty guy. Of course he was not open to astrology nor to me.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

It was sure his loss, Clymela... I'd love to have you as a relative!

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

joannaoregon-thank you so much for that dear one.
Plan to make soup and banana bread today. Hope everyone is warm and safe today-everyone in our family has a cold virus that just doesn't leave us-so what else to do but to make soup and banana bread for all of us and to watch in delight our 3 half grown cats and our dowager cat.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Interesting community things happening up here.
Like dropping a stone in the water..............
remember Mike Gravel's campaign video of that?..........the ripples are widening and moving outward.
From the Mon. night Work for Peace meeting, to plan the soup kitchen, one of the members sent me 2 Change that Works activists Re: the Snowe Collins vote for the health care reform bill........I committed to write some letters & do a phone chain. They settled in liking the feeling of the place, mentioned using the Gallery as an office for a State Rep's campaign....and were surprised to find a lively, witty, liberal "mature" person.......
The artists group this AM discussed creative ways to get involved with fund raising for the soup kitchen...........
Fascinating to watch this energy expanding and enlarging as it goes...............

* The Original Affluent Society - by Marshall Sahlins

Hunter-gatherers

Hunter-gatherers consume less energy per capita per year than any other group of human beings. Yet when you come to examine it the original affluent society was none other than the hunter's - in which all the people's material wants were easily satisfied. To accept that hunters are affluent is therefore to recognise that the present human condition of man slaving to bridge the gap between his unlimited wants and his insufficient means is a tragedy of modern times.

There are two possible courses to affluence. Wants may be "easily satisfied" either by producing much or desiring little The familiar conception, the Galbraithean way- based on the concept of market economies - states that man's wants are great, not to say infinite, whereas his means are limited, although they can be improved. Thus, the gap between means and ends can be narrowed by industrial productivity, at least to the point that "urgent goods" become plentiful. But there is also a Zen road to affluence, which states that human material wants are finite and few, and technical means unchanging but on the whole adequate. Adopting the Zen strategy, a people can enjoy an unparalleled material plenty - with a low standard of living. That, I think, describes the hunters. And it helps explain some of their more curious economic behaviour: their "prodigality" for example - the inclination to consume at once all stocks on hand, as if they had it made. Free from market obsessions of scarcity, hunters' economic propensities may be more consistently predicated on abundance than our own.

Destutt de Tracy, "fish-blooded bourgeois doctrinaire" though he might have been, at least forced Marx to agree that "in poor nations the people are comfortable", whereas in rich nations, "they are generally poor".
Sources of the Misconception
"Mere subsistence economy", "limited leisure save in exceptional circumstances", incessant quest for food", "meagre and relatively unreliable" natural resources, "absence of an economic surplus", "maximum energy from a maximum number of people" so runs the fair average anthropological opinion of hunting and gathering

The traditional dismal view of the hunters' fix goes back to the time Adam Smith was writing, and probably to a time before anyone was writing. Probably it was one of the first distinctly neolithic prejudices, an ideological appreciation of the hunter's capacity to exploit the earth's resources most congenial to the historic task of depriving him of the same. We must have inherited it with the seed of Jacob, which "spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north", to the disadvantage of Esau who was the elder son and cunning hunter, but in a famous scene deprived of his birthright.

Current low opinions of the hunting-gathering economy need not be laid to neolithic ethnocentrism. Bourgeois ethnocentrism will do as well. The existing business economy will promote the same dim conclusions about the hunting life. Is it so paradoxical to contend that hunters have affluent economies, their absolute poverty notwithstanding? Modern capitalist societies, however richly endowed, dedicate themselves to the proposition of scarcity. Inadequacy of economic means is the first principle of the world's wealthiest peoples. ... http://www.eco-action.org/dt/affluent.html

That is another great article find JoannaO!
Yes here in Maine we are still of the hunter gatherer mentality. If you are really desperate for food you CAN go throw a line off the pier & catch mackerel to eat.
( Not my favorite! Back in '70, my girlfriend & I were here with 5 kids between us, husbands delayed with a job they were doing & prior to ATM machines & credit cards, money ran short,) A local man taught the kids how to catch the fish, what bait/ hook to use, and they were pulling in about 35 a day. We cooked them every way known to man.........And I haven't eaten mackerel since, but we sure did have an abundance!

The Mills Grind Slowly
The Wisdom of Jupiter in Pisces

On Jan 20th, 2 dys after Jupiter enters Pisces for one year, Pres Obama marks his 1st year in office and the country is disappointed. Simple truth. There's nothing anyone can say to change that. It's necessary and it's not necessarily bad. It's part of the sequence required to create the conditions for improvement since rebellion is written into the guidelines. One's personal relationship with the figure need not change another's while people learn to live and let live in Piscean fashion. The two Jup-Nep conjs were the prelude to this time, where impossible fantasies of a better place were abandoned to be reestablished with a workable plan and a reasonable time frame. A long one not based on a god figure. The inspirational religious icon worked with Pluto at 29 Sag but things have changed after all.

Jupiter is going to ask that you eventually suspend illusions in prep for a stark look at reality and the long Pluto return ahead for the US. Anyone in office now would be in the same position since surrender at the end of the Pisces cycle is payment for passage into vigorous renewal and has nothing to do with the personalities. It's collective desire, esp with Uranus in Pisces as well. The end of the rope, the beginning of the next trip. Square one. ... http://raginguniverse.blogspot.com/

I will say re: the article and the author-the photo presented of Obama and Rove appears to have been photo shopped. The two men do not appear to be together in the same room at the same time. Steve is asleep but I will ask him to review my intuition which is not tutored but which he admits is very strong for nosing out fakery.
I know that so much of what the gentleman said about Obama is true-he certainly is friendly with all the big money folk seemingly at the expense of of us little folk BUT I will say Obama has his administration at work making undercover changes that are going to help us in the long run and he is not an unadorned a--hole as this interview concludes.
Well we will see but I will go with the spirit expressed in the Raging Universe. In the end seeing Obama as the son of Beelzebub is as dependent as seeing him as a savior.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

JoannaO, all great articles. Thank you for posting. I remember seeing the NYT photo of Obama and Rove and feeling uneasy about it. I don't think it was photoshopped.

Sending best wishes to Sally!

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Okay I just consulted my resident photoshopper. He agrees with me says look at where the light is falling on Roves head and then look at the light on Obama. What set my intuition ringing is the different sizes of the images-they are obviously (to me)taken from different photos.
Perhaps this is what has to happen but I don't trust all this hatred and vitriol directed toward Obama and I am still thinking that this is still only the beginning. but god knows I will not be argue against Uranus in Aries which is coming up and I do expect to hear some outrage well deserved from the public.

NOLASharon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Obama is in a position to have a lot of influence BUT his hands are tied as much as not. If he tried to go full-speed ahead with reform and progressive agenda, he would not get anything passed at all. Isn't that obvious? We have to look within and find the point where we are all human and, although we may have perfectly human reactions to the actions of others, we have to find a way to help everyone: not just Democrats, Republicans, Progressives, etc. Obama is saavy enough to know that to get things done he must do it in small steps and must compromise. I also must say this: some of the liberal agenda is just as one-sided and one-pointed as the far Right's. I have 4 planets in Pisces, as well as my midheaven and NN: what can I say? There are various viewpoints to consider, many are valid. If we just look at one side of one viewpoint and don't see the validity or realism in the others, then we will be ineffective idealists.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Just chiming in re: JoannaO's link to chirotic wordpress article. The astrologer mentions the theme of kidnapping of daughters. I wonder if she is aware of a psychic prediction of one of the Obama daughters being kidnapped. Seems strange, especially since the eclipse conjuncts his 12th house Saturn. Just wondering out loud....not wishing for anything to happen.

qop, Frank Rich is spot on. During this entire underwear bomber bruhaha i've thought about the mantra "keeping americans safe." Actually, it's all about keeping americans in the dark (and supporting the dark and nefarious), keeping americans sick (so they can PURCHASE healthcare -- supposedly a privilege for the unwashed masses. The list, of course is endless.

I'm almost finished with the historical novel Far Horizons by MM Kaye. It was published in the 70s i believe, a sweeping saga covering India, parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan. I cringe reading about the repeated incurions into Afghanistan by the Brits, Russians, and the repeated failures.

Sally, you continually delve into our sordid history on this site something i deeply appreciate. The above mentioned book brought this to mind and the deeper observation that we continue to walk the same paths. This karmic procession changes on occasion. Someone leaves the path, the beaten track. They see and chose to live a new vision.

My wish for the new year, is that many more than usual embrace this "new" vision. That we leave behind the need to reinforce our egos by using the language of the old path, the war-like, I-dare-you, it's-all-your-fault words. Maybe we just need to learn a new language.

* A common enemy

Lets start with a quote for the day:

“I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News. It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.“ ~ Sarah Palin

Well, some things are just DESTINED, ya know?

Unemployment is hitting a hard and stable 10 + % but we can double that when we include the chronically unemployed who have given up trying, those who are picking up odd jobs or working several small ones to put dinner on the table and those who have turned to petty crime to keep things going — none of which is tracked. 1 in 5 working-age American men are unemployed — 1 in 50 have no other income than food stamps. Actual unemployment is about 20% … 19.1 or so, according to Krugman.

These reads are mostly about Tim Geithner and his coziness with AIG … a man caught between the crosshairs of an era change … but Bernanke is right behind him. The Fed is trying to keep the lid on its insider maneuvering so the public won’t know how bad it is; Bloomberg initiated a lawsuit long ago, and now it will go to a 3-judge panel to decide. Meanwhile, we’re poised on release of Wall St bonus announcements that can only be insult, injury and HOPEFULLY perceived as an attack on the sensibilities of the American people; I’ll approve a psychic jolt if it will wake a few more up to the plutocracy that bats us around like a handball. ... http://polwaves.planetwaves.net/

Again, I say, along with the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland: "Off With Their Heads!!!!" with those borrowed French old guillotines.

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — A fierce earthquake struck Haiti late Tuesday afternoon, causing a crowded hospital to collapse, leveling countless shantytown dwellings and bringing even more suffering to a nation that was already the hemisphere’s poorest and most disaster-prone.

Barbara Koehler [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, could you expand on your remark "Atlantis will rise toward summer or fall, or at least what they think is Atlantis"

The reason I'm curious as to what led you to say this is that the birth chart for Haiti has the asteroid Atlantis at 24+ Gemini and transiting Uranus square at 23+ Pisces. In addition, transiting Atlantis is now at 25 Gemini again. My friend Len discovered this and asserts that Uranus is responsible for a lot of earthquakes.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this!

Thank you so much for the latest Matthew entry. I don't care about the origin or intent I simply know that I benefited by the discussion of the turn to non-violence and peace.
I especially loved the portion on violent entertainment. I have made my theories so clear around here that the grandchildren are careful not to be watching movies or playing games that I find violent when I come around. Sadly I have not been able to change their desires. I am trusting that at least for my grandchildren this is expression of their immaturity and they will change.
I love the part about the "light" coming to us and we are awakening to it. I know that in my life I changed so much from how I was although I never loved violence or cruelty and was often teased for being a crazy soft-hearted commie.
I know that we are all in prayer and sending light to Haiti and all those who are there to help. And pray that those like Limbaugh and Robertson can soon leave this life and go to their next third density life where they perhaps can bathe in blood and suffering whatever they need to finally let go of that understanding.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I am really grateful to read the Daily Kos entry and so relieved to have a president who can respond from the heart and respond with the moral authority that such an event requires.
I feel that we can start to change our direction now but I do know that we are truly in for change unlike anything I thought about when I was younger and we were so wealthy. I am hoping that we get ready to change with love and trust

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hi all, chatted with Sally and we'll have something new up tomorrow.

Clymela, it was good to see our government respond. It is this that I was looking for in Katrina...which raises a host of unresolved questions in my mind as to why New Orleans was left to drown.

I heard that as reporters ventured out of Port Au Prince the destruction outside the city was equally severe. One lady, a nurse said the country is destroyed. I've read that others say the big Corpo's will rip off the Haitians, but how can you rip off a people and land that has nothing? I am hoping that the Haitian people get the fresh start they need.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I don't know, Morgana, but they'll find something and a lot of whatever it is.

* How Bush-Cheney Policy Screwed Haiti

In the wake of the devastating earthquake, [USia] eyes are again turned toward Haiti—something that only seems to happen when yet another disaster strikes, and never during the daily chaos and misery that plague the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. I’ve spent a good deal of time in Haiti, reporting first on the repression under the Duvaliers, then on the rise of Jean-Bertrand Aristide's popular movement, and then on the 1991 military coup that brought him down. I was there during the period of the 1994 military intervention that restored Aristide to power.

US interest in the country seemed to wane with the departure of [USian] troops, and in the aftermath of Sept 11 and the Bush adm's numerous adventures around the world, Haiti returned to its usual state of invisibility in Western eyes. Few people noticed a remarkable report that appeared in the NYTimes in 2006, based in part on the analysis of former ambassador Brian Dean Curran, showing how US policy helped to destabalize Haiti in the years leading up to 2004, when Aristide was again forced out by armed rebels under an accused death squad leader. Written shortly before the election won by current president Rene Preval, Walt Bogdanich and Jenny Nordberg titled their story "Mixed US Signals Helped Tilt Haiti Toward Chaos." Here's their account of the events following Aristide's 2004 departure: ... http://motherjones.com/mojo/2010/01/us-policy-helped-keep-haiti-chaos

Morgana-the reason some of us are worried is that the reason Aristide was driven out of the country is that he was not going along with some of the US corporations who want to turn Haiti into a huge factory. OH! woops I see that joannaoregon has covered this subject with her post this date at 5:18 AM and we all know about Naomi Klein's disaster capitalism.
Absolutely it would seem to be impossible to take anything more from the Haitians-I have not seen such emaciated people except in history books.

The optimist in me hopes that Haiti will get a clean start-and so will religion, cleansed of such vultures as Pat Robinson. I couldn't help but notice that Jesus would have been in Port-A-Prince with a shovel helping dig people out of the rubble.

If He had the millions that Robertson had, He would have written a ten million dollar check and said not to worry about Him, God will provide what He needed. Perhaps He would have gone even further and given all he had and went down to help, leaving the studio and all behind. What was it he said to the rich man who wanted to follow him? Sell all you have and give to the poor-and right now the poorest of the poor are the souls in Haiti.

If there is a particular event in Vodou’s history
that has been decisive for shaping Vodou as a social
fact, it is probably the Vodou ceremony at Bwa
Kayiman on August 14, 1791.

Presumably, this
ceremony launched the Haitian Revolution which
resulted in the abolition of slavery and an independent
Haiti in 1804.

or http://www.aquariusmoon.info/index.shtml

That's the new site.

I moved to a new host back in September.

Not only have I relocated from the old site, though it's still up-but I've been doing heavy construction so the site may have been unavailable from time to time as well.

One thing I noticed from the midnight chart was that Neptune is probably crossing the Moon, adding to the confusion over what has happened.

All of a sudden all the big "Christian" leaders want to do nothing but blame and condemn everyone. Perhaps what we are seeing is the death of Christendom-the politically convenient merger of pulpit and state and Capitalism. But in death there is rebirth-perhaps something closer to what Jesus intended in the first place. The great Cathedral is in ruins, but the living Church remains.

Meanwhile all those liberal denominations down in Haiti and elsewhere are really doing the Lord's work in a compassionate and healing manner, not condemning people for their folk beliefs, but understanding and teaching and healing.

As I said before, Jesus would have gone down there with a shovel....

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I understand why slaves would revolt against the hateful and evil religion of their owners. Pat Robertson and any other Xians who support him or listen to him are working FOR their feared Satan.
Carol I agree about doing as Jesus would do but I refuse to be called Christian ever again even though I still love Jesus and Mary (the new understanding of our Mother)-I simply cringe when ever I hear any gospel being preached. I pray that the "liberal denominations" are doing god's work in Haiti and other palces.

Clymela, I cringe when I watch tv Evangelists who preach nothing but doom and gloom, living in fancy mansions while getting donations from the elderly. The One they preach would be giving to the poor and needy, not making more of the poor and needy.

I'm a Christian because of those Catholic nuns who were concerned about the needy, about the oppressed, who spent their time trying to open minds and hearts. Yes, some weren't for abortion or some other things, but they lived their lives simply so that they could serve.

* Bush, Clinton and the crimes of US imperialism in Haiti
18 January 2010

The Obama adm has announced that former presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush will head the fundraising for relief efforts in the wake of the Haiti earthquake. In his radio speech Sat, Obama declared: “These two leaders send an unmistakable message to the people of Haiti and the world. In a moment of need, the US stands united.”

The message of the Clinton-Bush appointment is indeed significant, but hardly what the WH and the [USian] media have suggested. In selecting his two immediate predecessors, those who have set US policy in the Caribbean since 1993, Obama demonstrates that the devastating human tragedy in Haiti will not bring any alteration in the rapacious role of US imperialism in that impoverished semi-colonial country.

For 8 yrs apiece, Clinton and Bush were directly and deeply involved in a series of political machinations and military interventions that have played a major role in perpetuating the poverty, backwardness and repression in Haiti that have vastly compounded by the disaster that struck that country last Tue. Both men have the blood of Haitian workers and peasants on their hands.

Clinton took office in the immediate aftermath of the military coup which ousted Haiti’s first democratically elected president, the populist cleric Jean-Bertrand Aristide. That coup was backed by the adm of Bush’s father, who saw Aristide as an unwanted and potentially dangerous radical. ... http://www.wsws.org/articles/2010/jan2010/pers-j18.shtml

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thank you for that link joannaoregon. I didn't have all the details but I sure did understand that joining Clinton with George W. was insane. GW's face is the face sadistic cruelty and those of us with any heart at all realize that.
In the end it may be that only the religious will serve the poor and disabled. I also know that many relief workers are working for the military.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

One of the most fun astrological things I've ever seen, Carol, was a good friend of mine when I lived in Okieland... she has scorpio rising, who teamed up for a few years romantic-wise with with a man who has a scorpio sun... he is an undertaker. She is an attorney for "dead people"... wills, probates etc. When they met, they thot the coincidence was serious stuff. TaHA!! He eventually moved to Alaska but she wouldn't move with him.

Alaska would be a hard place to move to. It wouldn't be so much the brutal cold as it would be the months of near-complete darkness. At the Winter Solstice, there are only 4 hours of light-10am to 2pm, and from pictures taken then, the Sun is almost like twilighty.

Add what appears to be a great deal of parochialism except for maybe the soldiers, and it's probably not a place I would want to move to.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yup! It's not a mystery why the hominiod pink folks developed a skygod symbolized by the sun. And why the equatorial folks developed a moon-mother, who loved the cool nights. They had more than enough of hot blistering sun thank you very much. And there's the lynchpin of all the religions today.

As I understand Haiti has oil and gas that have been put on reserve since about 1973 for when the Arabs dried up.
The US Canada and France have their eye on it. They are also rich in gold and minerals.
Aristide thought the people should know where their reserves were and for all to share in the wealth. That didn't go over at all with the greedy Bush boys so they had Aristide removed and put in one of their own leaders. They pulled one of those Bush style elections too and put alot of protestors in jail.
It is hard to get the drilling info but it appears that Cheny's group began to set up shop in 2006.
Here's the thing that really drives me nuts.
It is a fact that drilling for oil can cause earthquakes as well as mining too but add to that a fault line and you have got big trouble. One of the things they like about Haiti is no environmental laws.
Suppossedly there has been a big oil spill from the earthquake that is not being reported.
They never bring up oil when refering to Haiti they just say "interests".
So basically they- US Canada and France are looting from the Haitian people. It really sucks big time.
