I hope everyone had a wonder Christmas, a loving, calm, quiet Christmas full of joy and good cheer. I did not thanks to the transiting Sun conj. Pluto, square Saturn which was opposing my Moon with Pluto and the Sun squaring my Moon. Oh what a day Christmas Eve was, at least I was not on a plane. For me, everything that could go wrong did go wrong, all I touched turned into a disaster and I'm still not doing so well today. The worst was I opened the oven door to see how my rolls were coming and the "glass" dishes they were in came flying out, burnt my arm and leg and "broke" the dishes (something I will have to live with until I get some new ones; thanks Saturn) Oh and my battery died, I had to make three batches of my grandmother's cookies, peanut brittle and toffee, recipes I never had a problem with, but I ruined them this year. Those are just some little things, but this is an idea of the day.
The US has Venus at 4 degrees Cancer, guess what was hitting them all day, we are fortunate that the young man with Yemen connections and whose father was a Nigerian banker, (chairman of the First Bank of Nigeria and who had warned officials of his son’s radical nature) didn’t blow up the plane over Detroit.
Again, Sun/Pluto/Saturn and in another day or two Venus will join them. Not only was violence intended on Christmas Day by this young man, but the world will HAVE to live with the security ramifications for years to come. Saturn and Pluto changed airport security for decades creating additional "power" over the people and ultimately Saturn will retrograde and square Pluto a couple more times, joined by electric Uranus in Aries in about six months and then it retrogrades out of there for its last trip through Pisces, however it leaves Jupiter behind sweeping up, then Jupiter leaves Aries hanging on to Uranus. Actually I am looking forward to Jupiter and Uranus shaking things up a bit at least giving a little verve to the Saturn/Pluto Libra/Capricorn connection. I am not expecting all the foundational changes Saturn/Pluto try to make to stick, Cardinal signs like to start but not finish projects. Nonetheless, I do expect much to be started.
The HCR bill was passed on the Cardinal sign blast we got on the 24th, changes will come in January and we may or may not like them but even those won’t be permanent for too many years I don’t believe.
Pluto was in Libra during the 70’s and now Pluto is squaring its place trying to break up what it tried to start in the 70's. For the next two years Saturn will be working to move back to what came before the 70's and that would be conservative and that's where Uranus and Jupiter in Aries comes running through the front door. These are our two most freedom loving planets, they’re like kids demanding their own way and their independence, that's where I see more and more breakdowns. Aries is "don’t tell me what to do" Jupiter and Uranus support that attitude.
Things are changing, that’s for sure and some of those things we’ve been accustomed to for a long time; this is a possible list of what we won’t see anymore as we move to new gadgets and thoughts,
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/26/obsolete-things-that-expi_n_402674.html
Pluto and Saturn will aspect the US Venus and US Jupiter before 2010 is out and will cause up and down economy while we continue to change our attitudes, skills and most important our relationship to the financial institutions, the UK is already changing the relationship and some things I don’t like but others we will learn to use and start to brush up on our skills. I do think older people and their wisdom will be in demand because Capricorn likes older people and wisdom, those of us who are older just might find ourselves and our knowledge in need once again.
NEW YEAR PROJECTIONS will be up before the 31st.

Oh, Sally! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry after reading about your Christmas Day! Reminds me of my sister's pie making fiasco. It was her first year of marriage, and she was determined to make a pumpkin pie for thanksgiving. When she took the pie out of the oven it slipped from her hands and crashed to the floor. Must be the glass didn't break because she sat right down on the floor and ate that pie, crying the entire time.
There's so much contained in this fine piece, Sally -- as many potential aspects as there conflicts occuring now. We continue to repeat historical themes that have no resolution. Afghanistan is one of those symbolic (and too horribly real) conflicts illustrating the above. And of course we continue to empower a two-party system beholding to the same corporate malfeasors.
So, my dear and wonderful Sally, i agree -- there needs to be a good Uranus shakeup/wakeup.
Thank YOU, thank YOU for sharing your insights! It's like a pre-new year party!

Dearest Sally! It's so wonderful to hear your voice. I was wondering how you were doing and I popped in to see if you'd posted and lo and behold! Here you are!!! Your Christmas sounds a bit like mine ... had 27 people over for my annual Christmas day ... my brother and family came in 2 hours late from NY ... food was cold, Robert dragged the cooler all through the kitchen with the drain spout open pouring bloody, oily water (we'd marinated the turkey in it) all through the kitchen with 20 people milling around. I yelled at him (couldn't he take it on the grass and rinse it out with the hose? NO. Guess not). Oh, and I yelled at my sister-in-law for being so late and then had to run and apologize. My daughter told me off and said I needed to stop being such a bitch (she didn't say bitch, but, I got the message loud and clear). Oy! Ouch! Too late. Hopefully the rest of the week will be better. I sent both my girls off to the beach (Miami) (they're visiting from their far-away places. I really needed some peace and quiet and stayed right here. My beautiful little granddaughter Flo, who just turned 1 is visiting too.
Wow, I'd forgotten just how much work it all is taking care of a baby (not that I'm taking care of her non-stop, but still!). Anyhoo, hope everybody has a lovely week and an even better New Year's celebration. It's funny, but I don't think anybody is going to regret saying goodbye to 2009. As Queen Elizabeth said a few years ago when Princess Di died, she labeled the year the "Anno Horribilis", and that just about sums it up! Best wishes to everybody!

Yup. To the above shall I add Bah! Humbug! Thank the Goddess I walk the Labyrinth Jan 1. Mebbe that will do some clearing up... mebbe.
Some folks here chided me for being such a scrooge and asked "How come?" For starters, I answered, what's "Noel" got to do with slaughtering & stealing blind our sisses & bros in their own countries? Well, they didn't have much answer to that because they're "progressives." Woe betide them had they been the other kind. For millenniums, "we've" been doing this unspeakable dreadful crap! Long ago I lost the ability to pretend things were surely all christly & all lovely & dimply & divine & by the way, don't be such a grump... in other words, be a good co-dependent for the sicko-pinko system.

Perhaps one of the things that will become obsolete is glass baking dishes? ( can we hope?)
We all have a broken baking dish story in our background. When I was about 8 we were at the shore house with company, & my Aunt proudly went to the oven to remove the big dish of macaroni & cheese she had made. I was standing next to her, and watched in horror as the dish just split into pieces when she picked it up, and deposited macaroni all over the oven door. I guess we went to the boardwalk and had hotdogs and hamburgers for supper that night!
And this Christmas day, I put an old pyrex loaf pan, (Mother's?, Grandmother's?)full of stuffing into the hot oven next to the roasting pan thinking, " I should have warmed the dish before putting it into the hot oven"...........
Because I don't have any planets in early cardinal signs, the Universe gave me a pass......the dish remained intact,... ...but it strikes me, we could find a material less dicey, more reliable,to cook in, in this "age of technology"!
AS always Sally , you state it very clearly, and with your own signature style, what is going on and how we might deal with it. I love coming here and finding you have posted. I'm looking forward to your projections.

From Sally -
On July 5, 1916 we were two years away from WWI and Pluto was conjunct the US Venus which rules the US 6th house of the Military (plus jobs and health) and Pluto was moving toward Jupiter and the war expanded. In the early 70’s when Pluto was squaring US Venus (Venus also rules the US 10th house) the Vietnam war started to wind down due to the many protests around the world. With Pluto’s opposition to Venus there has to come some type of balance over the next two years in Iraq and it will probably come with the China/Russia oil deal; we have to look toward oil and gas going sky high.
There was another disruption on the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit with a sick passenger from Nigeria with Venus conj. Pluto, and to say flight attendants are skittish would be an understatement. The Pluto/Venus opposition is going to put all on edge for the next couple of days and then the intensity of the Pluto conjunctions will pass until Venus is in Aries in a few months. Someone is going to continue to try to keep the US off balance and it will be up to the opposition to try to balance it out, good luck to all.
It is also interesting to note that 1916 was also the height of the Robber Barons attempts to steal the American Public blind on the market and started its wild swing toward the late 20’s early 30’s of greed and theft. Many were sentenced to prison in the 30’s for their corruption. Here we are again and it won’t take nearly 15 years to capture the latest Wall Street thieves, but it could take nearly 10.
There are now five planets plus the NN in retrograde motion the the US Progressed chart and that is an astrological sign of big happenings over the next few years, only Mercury in 2016 will have gone direct by progression. We are truly going through a transforming experience of our values and ethics.
Looking again at the 6th house, today the House of Representatives are ready to give up the Public Option on HCR and the GOP wants to campaign of the repeal of HCR, it remains to be seen if the opposition of Venus to Pluto will force us to “give up” our hope of a Public Option. Most telling is “we are a mentally ill country.” Stay familiar with herbs and homeopathy.

I can't find better words than Morgana-"Well said Captain Sally". Excellent history and excellent teaching here. May we hope that our love of work and pets and good health overcomes the creeps who want to take ALL of our money. May we see the return of Public Option or (hold on) single payer. May we realize that we believe that health care is essential for a healthy workforce.

and I too had my after Christmas melt down: someone left evidence of the virus floating around (the second virus in three months!!!!) and sicko grannie came out and screamed at the company and her constant companion about the rules of hygiene. No exploding Pyrex but I will look at mine with new understanding-just last week I baked a casserole in my mother's large yellow pyrex mixing bowl- perhaps it is time to change the bowl's name to salad bowl.

* The eclipses are coming! The eclipses are coming!
... The eclipses are coming in VERY emotional signs and bringing up profound emotional releases as we seek to change the structures we’ve built in our life. Mars is retrograde in Leo screwing up our ability to take direct action yet making us VERY conscious of what we DO want even as we can‘t approach it or want to run away from it, screaming for our cosmic mother! Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn screwing up our ability to communicate clearly and concisely so the few words we actually WANT to say are completely misinterpreted.
Venus is CRANKY and depressed in Capricorn as she joins with Pluto and squares Saturn so we aren’t feeling the love, desired, pretty, wanted or even particularly valued. What we want seems SO out of reach right now. There is a Fist of God or Hammer of Thor forming to challenge relationships and partnerships so we will want to run away rather than face the situations and do what needs to be done. We need to open the triangles up and speak truth to power and be honest in our relationships, damn the costs or the outcome. However, we really want our cosmic mother to come and cuddle us. ... http://www.anneortelee.com/

* The Galactic Times
Earth comes closest to the Sun just minutes after Jan 3rd (GMT) commences. Regardless of the season your local hemisphere enjoys, solar radiation saturates earthlings through the shortest distance and subsequently maximum intensity. How nice that sunspot activity now rises, promising extra solar energy and hinting toward the late but certain to arrive solar maximum of 2011 (and NOT 2012!). What a great time to soak up the vibes and ponder the year ahead.
Most astrological sites go on quite a bit about the nastiness of Saturn square Pluto, Uranus square Pluto, Jupiter square Pluto, and Saturn opposed Uranus, all patterns in play in 2010. No doubt these are forces with which we must all contend and if misplayed, invoke hostility, conflict and disruptive efforts to control what likely lies outside one’s ability to control. No doubt all of us must approach these patterns with consciousness and care to invoke only the best of our beings in resolving the “situations” the patterns present on our personal paths. And no doubt, if inspired, creative and conscious, more can be gleaned from these situations instead of forging ahead without attn to personal awareness and naturally provided planetary insight. During 2010 times of conflict prevail for sure, but conflict for those aspiring toward consciousness yields creative solutions to lingering problems.
Now if we only had a few inspirational torches to light the way. We do. ... http://www.philipsedgwick.com/

Saturn square Pluto is pretty freaking nasty. This is the one Saturn square the most requires you to get rid of dead and useless structures according to Robert Hand. Pluto rules breakdown and rebuilding, when we emerge from this transit aspect we will be considerably tougher then we were. That nasty square plays out in with Pluto transiting the US 1st House (I use 5:10 pm time), with Saturn transiting the US 10th House of the Nations Leader and approaching the US n. Saturn. Saturn returns are a completion, Pluto is tearing down the sick and corrupt structures. And with us passing out of the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius the desperate grasp of the uber radicalized religious zealot is reaching a crescendo. I uploaded the Full Moon chart
http://morganaseawalker.com/USFM123109.jpg and the US Full Moon bi-wheel http://morganaseawalker.com/USFM123109a.jpg
Lot's of energy there, but as you can see the Pluto sq Saturn energies are rocking the boat.
