MARCH 29, 1999

This was the last time the Stock Market passed 10,000; passed on a Saturn/Neptune Aquarius/Taurus square at 3 degrees; a sure sign of a foundation built on sand and the sand is running out. On November 12/1999 Bill Clinton signed into law the repeal of the Glass Steagall Act that a GOP Congress and Senate passed into law. This time it was on a Saturn/Uranus square from Aquarius to Taurus at 13 degrees, another sign of a fight for a shift in the status quo resulting in a redistribution of wealth and the good times begin to roll.

Houses were selling at breakneck speed along with cars along with breakneck prices. Folks buying homes they had been talked into being able to afford, but they couldn't. We were being scammed by banks who could now bundle mortgages and speculate on our money; the repeal of Glass Steagall made sure of that. Salaries at banks, investment houses, insurance companies, credit card companies and health care costs shot through the roof. Bonus' were given whether you won or lost, who cared, it was out money. AIG was insuring international banks with no way to pay if they lost, guess who did pay if they lost. My guess is the several trillions that fly out the door of the Federal Reserve in 2008 had to do with paying off those international banks that were also scammed by the US; you know the money we cannot trace or ask questions about, that was the condition the banks, Bush/Paulson placed on Congress to "save us" from financial ruin and more easily place us into financial ruin. Notice the bonus packages this year and how well these folks are doing.

Back to the 10,000 spike in the Stock Market, this would not be "happy days" for all the rabel out here, the wealth is still being re-distributed up on this Saturn/Uranus opposition and it's still built on sand. There is nothing driving up this market except raised interest rates and more speculation on our dime, not theirs. Do you see any more jobs, or consummer spending, or new housing starts or cars moving from the lots? Do you see any manufacturing of any size coming back to the US, we don't make anything anymore. Paper and almost worthless paper is doing the driving for the last 20 or more years.

WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN - RIDE THE PAINTED PONY LET THE PONY WHEEL SPIN

Along the "painted pony" lines there is another big shift, and one unexpected, the "teabaggers" organized by Dick Armey a dis-infranchised power broker in the House of Representatives is turning on the present day GOP, and supporting liberterian of the right wing variety into the 2010 election and pushing Ron Paul as their big candidate for 2012 President but I expect Dick Armey has another hidden agenda of his own along those lines. The "Patriot TeaBaggers" are focused on another revolution and their passion for their anger and ideas and against this government could just bring on a revolution, way organized by 2012, however by 2012 Climate Change will be occupying our minds and our time.

HEALTH CARE

Some type of health care bill will be passed and if the government is smart they will make sure that the insurance companies are not protected from competition, but I don't trust that they are smart. This morning the squirrels were frantically trying to get the low hanging grapes before they are all gone for the winter, I thought it was a great metaphor for the government as they are frantically trying to ride that pony and get us on board while trying to hang on to the insurance money they've been taking for years again at our expense. However between the obscene flip off the banks, credit card companies and insurance companies have been giving them with their continued bonus', raised rates and lowered values they might have been placed in a position of losing big in the long run and might not get those grapes before winter.

What can we do? Get involved with a positive community movement in your state, that's the best way to protect ourselves and to change the direction we seem to be heading. The planets are not destroying us, they are giving us opportunities to grow and step far far into the light.

Good morning, Miss Sally... everybody! I really like this site sometimes. http://www.juliarogershamrick.com/articles.html

... "When you surrender to your Spirit, you automatically enter Easy World, where the Design for Harmony reigns, and where the turmoil and trouble of Difficult World can't affect you. It moves you far above the vibrational zone where Difficult World exists, and into the realm where everything continually works together to support and increase your well-being. It doesn't matter what is going on in Difficult World, everything is always working out splendidly in Easy World, so it's definitely where you want to be. At your core, you know this. Just remember to choose Easy World as many times as it takes." ...

Inspiring site Joanna, and inspiration is what we all need and will move us forward to the 100th monkey. When I was in the hospital a friend of mine gave me a plack that said

"I have flying monkeys and I am not afraid to use them" I loved it and think of it everyday as I watch these yahoos do all they can to BS us around

Oh way to go! Best article yet Sally! I love the last line.
I am seeing the local positive movements growing exponentially. The circles are widening just like a pebble thrown into the water. A Peace COncert Mon. night , The WWCO ARTS Guild this Am, ( and the sound artist, newcomer to the group attended,
and was delighted to find himself with a like minded group.) Tonight there is a Contra Dance at the Grange, home of the Black Fly Ball...........
It is spreading like a California grass fire here.
I got a report from NC..same thing happening down there!

I soooo look forward to the day of the hogs causing a rukus and nobody pays the slightest attention because they're too busy doing positive fun things. In reality, that's already the truth.

JoannaO, I have bookmarked that website for further reading when I get a chance, but right now, I can attest to these words being true from the author:

" The Problem is Resistance

Resistance is where the pain is. Resistance is what keeps you at lower vibrational frequency where you are unable to see clearly. Resistance assures that you stay mired in turmoil and struggle. Resistance causes you to make decisions that only intensify your difficulties. Resistance ensures friction and friction causes pain.

Resistance is the problem, not the seemingly problematical events themselves! Dropping resistance is the only way to experience the relief you crave when you're in a scary or painful situation."

This is why when faced with a devastating health diagnosis, the wrong approach imo is saying "I'm going to fight this thing and beat it!". No, accept the diagnosis, then calmly set about researching everything about it, and choose the best possible healing solution for yourself without thinking about a negative outcome. It worked for me.

Re: the Easy World website - I notice that the symbol she uses at her website (rose on a cross) is very similar to the symbol of the Rosicrucian Order http://www.rosicrucian-order.com/ so it's possible that she belonged to this secret brotherhood at one time or still does. If so, it would be very easy for her to enter a parallel universe. Inspite of the symbol, the Rosicrucian Order has nothing to do with religion, at least not from a traditional standpoint. They never mention the word "God". It is more of a scientific approach to breaking down all physical barriers. I joined in my early 20s, many moons ago. They give you mental exercises to do towards the goal of overcoming the limitations of time & space so that eventually you can be in a place in any part of the world or Universe in a split second. I'm sure some people were able to accomplish that, but I left after a year. The exercises began to scare the living daylights out of me, and I got to the point where whatever I dreamed the night before, would happen the next day, exactly as it did in the dream. Too scary. Maybe I was too young to handle those experiences at the time - literally blew my mind. They also held rituals/ceremonies at temples that I never attended. So what she says on her website is true. You just have to be brave enough to let yourself go, I imagine.

Sally-thank you so much and already I find that we are heading in the direction you advise.
We are gardening with people we didn't know a year ago and we are joining with people in other activities that we couldn't have known about two years ago.
The so-called leaders are so corrupt,so deceitful that I don't think that they are worth listening to. I do believe though that when it is time to join with others we will know that too by the activities we find ourselves involved in.
Love and Light to you wonderful,Sally and to all of my "patners" here.

The right wing is having a field day with Obama's visit to New Orleans on his way here to gather money. Seems that his PR folks are asleep at the wheel. Surely Obama has folks who could spin this: the early morning right wingers are likening his visit to Bush's fly-over after the flood came. And then they are harping on his $30,000 a plate dinner here in San Francisco (well by here I mean the SF Bay Area-I live across the Bay.) I have been wanting to scream but everyone is still asleep and my one friend awake in New York is a political but votes progressive and so she and I celebrate the October snow.
Congress may be fat and lazy and willing to do ANYTHING for money but I do still believe that Obama is more refined and so is his family. Someone needs to take over and get him better press what is going on on this last news day before the weekend is devastating and so terribly destructive.
I will look at his chart but ,please,if you have any insights please bring up here.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Clymela, I've wondered that myself over the last several months even during the campaign. In watching him, my hunch is with Aries on his 3rd house of communication and the ruler Mars in his 8th in Virgo and Scorpio on his 10 and his moon square Pluto, there are just too many aspects that indicate he believes in going it alone, I think he wants to leave the perception that he is doing it himself. I don't think he wants to leave the impression that his VP or a Karl Rove is running his presidency and he's gone overboard on it.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hmm!! Sally thank you for that. I see what you are pointing to and Yes! he has no doubt gone overboard here. Time for Michelle and his mother-in-law to step in with some down to earth info about how the world is hearing this. Alos time for him to stop fearing that the world will think that he is favoring African Americans and get to work helping the poor of New Orleans, Mississippi. Louisiana and get to work on programs that help those who work for a living. The wealthy may pay for plane trips but there are not enough of them to get him re-elected.

* ASTROTABLETALK

... During last year’s US Presidential contest, the Republican ex-Sec of State Colin Powell stepped in and backed Barack Obama, saying he thought he could be a transformational President. These transformational leaders, the ones who change the country, are the ones we remember, for better or for worse. Like Margaret Thatcher in Britain. Cherie Blair, Tony’s wife, is convinced history will put him up there as a top PM, but I don’t think he was transformational. He ran with the boom times, and put more money into public services, like Labour does, but nothing underlying changed. To date he is mainly remembered, and hated by many, for the Iraq War, and this seems to baffle him. Blinded by self-importance and religion, he is convinced he is a good guy.

All Obama has to do to be transformational, in a way, is not to mess up too badly, because the fact of him being black and managing to get elected was transformational in itself. What seems to be happening with healthcare, however, suggests that Obama is going to transform the country further. The guiding stars for this process are Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron, forming their triple conjunction in Aquarius for most of this year, and making a conjunction by transit to the American Moon (the people). And the people seem to be far more in favour of the new healthcare provisions than the politicians. So much for Democracy. ... http://astrotabletalk.blogspot.com/

It seems to me that thru "I like Ike," prezies weren't in the limelight and fanfare 24/7--one assumed that the #1 bureaucrat was just doing his (and it was always a "he") job, which, in my opinion, was kind of nice. It took the pluto/leo group, who loved notions of "lookie me! lookie me!," to turn a prezie spot into rock star silliness. Ray-gun, a Hollywood actor who wanted votes, and pol groupies, certainly assisted. Pres Obama is not of that ilk. Set apart with his Pluto in Virgo, he's a true technocrat, hopefully humble in his way... just "plodding along" doing his job perfect as possible. ;O)

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I also think that the pluto/virgo is setting new standards for the prezie position. And that Pres Obama won't be "doing" pluto/leo anytime soon. However, with his sun/leo, he probably will be a good transition for prevalent leo expectations.

Sally, may I ask you a question on a somewhat unrelated issue? I believe you mentioned awhile back that this Autumn we'd be hearing some pretty major revelations/secrets coming out re who did what/who was really responsible for the events of 9/11.

Do you think this still may happen? I believe such revelations would herald the much needed death knell of the neo-con vampires, hopefully just in time for Halloween!

Another brownie point for Maine!
I'm back home in San Francisco, after spending 10 days on the ground in Maine with the "No on 1" campaign. After my time there, I truly believe that - with our help - Maine will become the first state in the nation to successfully defend marriage equality at the ballot box, providing a roadmap for California to repeal Proposition 8. Maine activists have been working hard for five years to pass gay marriage, but events in the last few days now point to what should be an historic victory on November 3rd. With only 19 days left, what I'm seeing from the "Yes on 1" campaign reminds me of where "No on 8" was at this point last year - outgunned by the opposition, unable to control the message and at a loss about what to do. If Question 1 passes, it will be our fault for not having done more. But if Question 1 fails, those of us who get involved will have made history - which is why I hope to go back for the last four days. Here are the reasons for my optimism ...

As the world indulged in a bubble of false prosperity and excessive materialism, should universities — in their research, teaching and writing — have made greater efforts to expose the patterns of risk and denial? Should universities have presented a firmer counterweight to economic irresponsibility? Have universities become too captive to the immediate and worldly purposes they serve? Has the market model become the fundamental and defining identity of higher education?

Since the 1970s there has been a steep decline in the percentage of students majoring in the liberal arts and sciences, and an accompanying increase in preprofessional undergraduate degrees. Business is now by far the most popular undergraduate major, with twice as many bachelor’s degrees awarded in this area than in any other field of study. In the era of economic constraint before us, the pressure toward vocational pursuits is likely only to intensify.

Good morning wonderful qop-good to "hear" from you.
I have posted the link to a piece that was listed beside the Maureen Dowd article. It is about Hawaii's health coverage. I know about this because my daughter was half raised by her father on the island of Maui. Her father was/is a hard working chef and the cost of living in the islands is high still my daughter had health coverage as good as my Kaiser and her dental coverage there was way beyond what I could afford so that she had the orthodontia her dentist wanted for her. This was because of the generous health care coverage offered by the government of Hawaii.
I know the Republicans tried to get rid of the coverage but I guess it was too hard to pull it off.

MaineHealthcare is good too if you are under the income requirements.Eric's illness hospitalization, meds, radiation etc. were all covered completely by it.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I have to put mine in every time as well qop, it's frustrating.

I saw the Dowd column early this am and thought it was very well done and something I hope Obama and his staff think about because there is a sense that they are either off track or have lost their own vision.

Thirty years ago Bill Daniels (known as the "Father of Cable TV" devoted his fortune to the community and helping others elevate themselves, his "Young American Bank" is a model for banks across the country and a huge asset to this community. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Daniels

However, thirty years or so ago Bill asked the Denver University Business School what they had in the way of ethics courses for their under-graduate and graduate degrees and DU didn't have any. He gave millions to the School on the condition that the money be used for Business Ethics, it was the only Business School in the nation to offer such courses, and is still one of the very few to teach ethics courses for business. I wondered how their faired the last several years as ethics seems to have faultered badly. Bill Daniels was known to walk his talk and he had a public falling out with a partner who didn't see ethics in business as necessary as Bill Daniels.

I look back at the things that shape a society and wondered where we got off track. I do think the projection of movie scripts and TV have had something to do with it, perhaps a lot to do with it. Prior to WWII the majority of movies, with few exceptions, did not present a plethora of violence or how great it was for the bad guys to win, our viewing fare became more and more violent and more and more ethically challenged for us, I mean how "cute" was Ocean's 12, or the "Greed is Good" movie concept? For that matter WWII was sold through the movies and they tried to sell Vietnam only it backlashed on this country and then Hollywood turned on Vietnam and it wasn't so sellable.

We are easily manipulated as evidenced by the trillions through the years that just Tide and Cheer have spent on us to convince us they are the best, not to mention all the other market products out their trying to get out attention, add politicians to that as well. So where did we let them start fliping on us and wholesale lying and stealing with such impunity and we didn't even try to hold them accountable, at least people tried at one time. Anyone ever hear of "Penny Auctions" organized by communities before TV, Twitter or FaceBook
http://www.livinghistoryfarm.org/farminginthe30s/money_10.html

Communities are the answer, I hope we can all get back to them.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Loved your words and thoughts, Sally and qop. Especially the part regarding how we have been manipulated by the visual and audio of our marching commerce and patriotism. This is what is/has been going on and sadly it now appears that Obama is part of that. Perhaps that is why on election night he called out to his daughters saying "Daddy loves you more than you will know". Perhaps he agreed to give up his soul as long as his daughters would be protected by the immense wealth he will gather following his time as president-such as the Clintons have done.
Carl Boudreau, an astrologer on YouTube has said that the age of the money monsters, the privileged few was the time from 0Cancer through 0Capricorn and that from 0Capricorn around again to 0Cancer will be the time of us ordinary folk. I have taken great comfort in this thought-we will build communities because we will have to-the fat fu--s will have taken everything into their walled communities and we the "salt of earth" will be left to ourselves.

Hi everyone.

Very happy to see you posting Sally. I was a little worried for awhile. Still praying and talking for you.

While transit Pluto square his progressed Sun brought President Obama into national, make that international, prominence, it also indicates extreme pressures and he certainly has had that since day one.

A visit from Pluto can indicate "beating the (massive) odds" and his progressed Sun and transit Pluto remained within a 1° square (in right ascension) through 2008 until just after the election last November.

His natal progressed Sun is at (the following are in longitude for your convenience) 29°10' Virgo conjoined by transit Saturn at 28°48' Virgo with both opposite his natal Moon/Saturn midpoint at 29°21' Pisces. I wonder if he is receiving information that all is not working out as he had hoped for or was told it would for Main Street. Or maybe he is realizing this for himself as he surveys things. We are right around the corner from the beginning of the 9 day period (Nov 5 through 14) when it appears there is a major shift in the affairs of this country and indeed, the rest of the world too. Buckle up.

Thank you Unique for your very kind words and prayers, but good lord I just now looked at the last post I made and if I saw that from someone else I would be saying "are you ok?" that post was riddled with typos. But I am fighting back against this thing and don't intend to give up. If the universe wants me back they are going to need to want me more than I want to return right now, I cannot imagine that would be the case so keep up your prayers, I need them.

I agree on Obama, plus transiting Neptune opposite his Uranus and his SN. I am going to hazard a guess that he is getting wrong information from Rham Emanual who is himself very confused right now with transiting Neptune conjuncting his Asc, squaring his Mercury and soon to square his Mars and Moon, not a good spring or summer for Rahm and confusion or lies or at least obfuscation will reign in his life.

Tim Geithner (sp?) I think is just flat out lying to Obama, Neptune is opposing his Sun and this spring it will be his Uranus, NN, and Mercury, I don't think the guy knows which way is up and he just makes things up while protecting Wall Street and their bonus'

As I've said over and over for a couple of years, 1. Whoever won the presidency they will have to dance with the devil and Obama is dancing.

2. The multi-nationals hayday is over, they don't see it but it's over and all will see that happening in 10 to 12 years, perhaps a bit before and Pluto in Capricorn will return the control to the people who will have to build a new foundation, it could all happen and I expect it will with a modern day revolution. Power will not be given up easily from these "have always wanna been Masters of the Universe." What's that old song "when will we ever learn, when will we ever learn.

Boy Crystal, you are right the American dollar is in big trouble, we may go back to bartering before all this is over.

Well, Sally, I know that everyone reading just read through the typos because we know what is going on and still you offer such guidance and clarity while we "watch the stars".
Geithner and Emanuel are bad news. Obama needs to dump the bankers involved with Wall Street, etc. Also, believe the Emanuel is behind all the anti-populist attitude in the administration and this is a big mistake. Ignoring the working folk will destroy their plans.

OMG Marta, I have had you on my mind after I wrote that post a couple of nights ago and went back yesterday and saw all the typo's I made. I can't imagine where my mind was but it was off someplace and didn't know how to write. I thought I hope Marta didn't see this. I love the article you just posted, mainly because just what is money and just why the desperation to hang on that the bankers and insurance and rich seem to have. I call these people "the long gray line" because they are gray and pasty looking. It isn't wealth that gives them that look, I know a lot of wealthy people who aren't like this and aren't slobbering around to make more, have more etc, it's fear that gives them that look. Fear of what, not having enough when they have multi-millions, billions, fear of what?

There are the givers and the takers in life and somehow we prop each other up. I have a true story that happened to me that I titled "The King of Colfax." I wrote it years ago and think I posted it here but later today I will re-post "The King of Colfax" because it had a profound affect on how I think about what we have and what we do and who actually moves society around.

John Major Jenkins and Carl Johan Calleman have an ongoing raging debate about the end date of the Mayan calendar. Jenkins seems to have the upper hand right now, at least in the media, with all the doom and gloom hype surrounding December 21, 2012. The risks of believing that the Mayan calendar ends December 21, 2012!

by Carl Johan Calleman

About eight years ago John Major Jenkins and I had a debate about the meaning of the Mayan calendar end date focusing especially on whether the energies of the Long Count ends on October 28, 2011 or December 21, 2012. This still remains the most important question anybody interested in the “2012 phenomenon” is faced with, but while at the time the debate might have seemed theoretical, or even hairsplitting, it is now a question that has very significant and practical consequences as to how we relate to the future. While many would like to sweep the end date question under the rug or sit on the fence, no one can do so with their intellectual integrity intact. Since that debate Jenkins has appeared on a History Channel documentary where December 21 2012 is presented as a predetermined “doomsday” when the world is going to come to an end. I get quite a few letters, sometimes from young people that worry that the world will come to an end at this date since they have seen this documentary posted on YouTube. While most knowledgeable people would probably reject this way of presenting the Mayan calendar it is still important to ask the question who benefits from it. I feel there are indeed many people, also apart from the participants in such documentaries that benefit from the claim that the Mayan calendar ends December 21, 2012. Thus, I do not think that it is an accident that we do not hear of the October 28, 2011 date in public media. To begin with, as far as I know no one who adheres to the end date of October 28, 2011 has ever presented this as a predetermined doomsday and thus unduly associated the Mayan calendar with fear.

Since the abovementioned debate two different intellectual cultures have emerged around the two possible end dates, one based on belief (December 21, 2012) and one based on evidence (October 28, 2011). These two cultures are about as different from one another as any one of them is from that using the Gregorian calendar. The proposal of the December 21, 2012 date is based on the unproven belief that the precessional cycle actually means something for human evolution, and, amazingly, as far as I know no one advocating this end date seems to have even bothered to try to prove this basic assumption. In contrast, the October 28, 2011 date is based on massive scientific evidence that the Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens known from ancient Mayan sources indeed describe cosmic evolution in all of its aspects. Moreover, while there is extensive evidence that the Maya based prophecy and prediction on shifts between baktuns, katuns, tuns etc, not a single ancient Mayan text mentions the 26,000 year precessional cycle. Since those advocating the December 21, 2012 end date do not identify shift points in the Mayan calendar leading up to their end date their hypothesis is however not testable from the predictions made, which is the hallmark of any serious scientific theory. Hence, it must be qualified as belief rather than science. Based on nothing more than belief a culture has subsequently emerged around the December 21, 2012 date, since it serves as an ideal projection screen for fantasies, fears and hopes rather than something that can be proven and understood scientifically based on the patterns of the Mayan calendar.

The October 28, 2011 end date can however be rationally understood. It has also been verified by several predictions, most recently my own that an economic collapse would set in and when it would do so: Regardless of what forms such a [financial] collapse may take it seems that the best bet is for it to occur close to the time that the Fifth NIGHT begins, in November 2007 [strictly speaking the 19th] (The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness, page 233). In accordance with this prediction economists now agree that it began in December of 2007, see Figure 1). This prediction was actually formulated already in my first book in English, Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time: The Mayan Calendar written in 1999 and published in 2001 (page 187). This is really a direct parallel to Edgar Cayce’s famous prediction of the time for the New York stock exchange crash, in this case however made about ten years in advance, and so was made much earlier than any professional economist even considered such an economic meltdown. I however do not claim to have some unusual psychic abilities, and instead this prediction attests to the fact that with the right end date, October 28, 2011 the mystery of the Mayan calendar has been exactly solved. That these predictions were accurate can be verified by anyone, who cares to examine the relevant pages in my books. In contrast no one who claimed that the end date of the Mayan calendar is December 21, 2012 made any similar prediction and can mostly not credit themselves with having made one single accurate prediction based on the Mayan calendar. Already this should be a red flag for anyone looking for a way to understand the evolution of civilization based on the Mayan calendar.

It seems to me that the Mayan shamans should be the ones to ask about their own calendar, not the grabby you-know-who. And the Mayan shamans apparently have had thus far no inclination to write money-making books to explain themselves... and why should they.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Great article Neo but I have been rethinking predictions based on the Mayan's themselves saying that 2012 is not part of their mythology that there are other dates and calendars that are even more important to them. They say that the "end of the world" concept is a Western Christian myth and that they are using the 2012 as a way to prove the end of the world is at hand and it isn't. I am attaching the article, since this is something astrologers have been talking about and trying to chart for decades I thought it might be worth thinking about and so I drug out all my "Mayan" histories and codes and rethinking it all.

His claims of an accelerated economic crash and unravelling during the "Sixth Night" are easy enough to anticipate, even without having read his analysis.

* That sound you hear is the social fabric about to snap

According to official statistics, the unemployment rate in the US is now 9.8%. But those statistics understate the severity of the jobs crisis. The official statistics do not incl the 875,000 [USians] who have given up looking for work, even though they want jobs. When these "marginally attached" workers and PT workers are added to the officially unemployed, the result, according to another, broader govt measure of unemployment known as "U-6," is shocking. The US has an unemployment rate of 17%. And even this may understate the depth of the problem. By adding the 3.4 million [USians] who want a job but have not looked for one in over a year, businessman, philanthropist and Obama advisor Leo Hindery Jr. infers an actual unemployment rate of 18.8%. In other words, nearly one in five [USians] is unemployed or underemployed. http://www.buzzflash.net/story.php?id=1042164

Does anyone see the wisdom of holding elections in Afghanistan at this juncture? Why the rush? What are the meatheads trying to prove? There is nothing democratic about it if only 1% of the population manages to vote, and hundreds(or thousands) of sodiers have to put their lives on the line to make it happen. I don't know which American nincompoop(s) decided this. The Americans are the ones who installed Karzai as their puppet, so whether or not he's corrupt, what harm could come from waiting until the environment is safer, so the elections would not be such a mockery? And how do they know that this other guy, Abdullah Abdullah will be an improvement on Karzai? He may be worse. Guess they didn't learn from installing the puppet government in Iraq. That was another farce. Afghanistan looks like a repeat of Iraq - the same old bumbling/blundering white western powers deciding the fate of millions of foreign peoples.

Sally-I have only recently begun to realize that the "end of the world" belongs with the Western philosophy/Christian philosophy of god as an outside agent who created everything all at once and can then "uncreate" everything. I was raised in that world view even one afternoon hearing my mother and her friend discussing the coming end as verified by the Jews returning to the Holy Land.So I have come truly free of that fear.

* This article is excerpted from Life Inc., recently released by Random House.

While you might expect the marriage of progressive sociopolitical goals and the culture of spirituality to ground activism in ethics, it turns out that just the opposite is true. That’s because what we think of as “spirituality” today is not at all a departure from the narcissistic culture of consumption, but its truest expression. Consumer materialism and spirituality coevolved as ongoing reactions against the seemingly repressive institutions of both state and church.

The Puritans brought the late-Renaissance ideology of boundless frontiers with them to the new continent as Calvinism. While we associate the Puritan ethic with hard work, proper investment, and devotion to charity, all this insurance for one’s soul also promised a totally earthly gratification. Their ascetic renunciation was supposed to yield Puritans a material bounty, and their human prosperity in this world was likewise a sign of their spirit’s salvation in the next one. Not surprisingly, then, the brand of Protestantism that developed in America as corpos took hold in the mid-1800s was already consonant with capitalism’s requirements for infinite growth and exploitation of material bounty. ...

* Program Your Own Money

The credit crunch may actually be good for business.

No, not in the short term. When money becomes more expensive, it is harder for most businesses to get the capital they need to conduct their most basic operations. Even successful companies borrow money to buy materials, pay employees, and cash in on invoices that have yet to be paid. Without the cash flow provided by banks, it is a lot harder for many companies to function--much less expand.

With any luck, however, the future of business will be entirely less dependent on banks and the currency they lend into existence. The Fortune 500 will become something other than brand names on piles of debt, and business ops will be characterized more by what companies produce than how much credit their "stories" can earn them on one of the stock exchanges.

Yes, we are watching something melt down. But I'd argue the thing that's dying is not business itself, but a financial parasite--a speculative marketplace that no longer funds business but instead seeks to extract value from healthy commerce. More a funds vampire than an infuser of needed capital, the investment industry has been exposed as a drag on business. The future of commerce looks bright to me because it may be unencumbered by the weight of this non-productive capital. ... http://www.realitysandwich.com/program_your_own_money

I so agree and will go even further here and say that what is melting down is our Neptunian day-dreams of fame and fortune, of lounging around our pools when we are not cruising around in our expensive autos or going to warm climates in the winter and cool climates in the summer.
Middle-class life required a lot of work and a certain modesty and we can regain that when the "winners"shuffle off stage and we can begin to clean up and "clear up"and begin rebuilding our economy and our society,

It's here because supposedly she was a member of the Rosicrucian Order. You can ignore all the rest, but scroll down to the 3rd page to read Ella's beautiful poem, and scroll all the way to the end to read some words of wisdom from Einstein, who supposedly also was a Rosicrucian, but I'm not proselytizing. Just thought that the words of the 2 people I mentioned are worth reading. Maybe some of you are already familiar with Wheeler's poem, but it's a first for me.

What Sen Collins is working on from an e-mail news letter!Too much to copy/ paste. no link
On Thursday, October 15, the Department of Energy announced an $8 million grant for deepwater offshore wind research at the University of Maine. This grant is the result of Senator Susan Collins’ work with Energy Secretary Steven Chu to help fund the development, deployment, and testing of three wind turbines in the deep water off the Maine coast.
The Fiscal Year 2010 Energy and Water Appropriations conference report also includes Senator Collins’ request for $800,000 for solar energy development at the University of Maine Presque Isle. This project would cover the design and installation of photo-voltaic solar panel arrays at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Additionally, the establishment of an automated weather station to collect information on solar radiation levels in this northern region will provide needed baseline data for future use of solar energy and promote undergraduate research.
U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that she has successfully secured $4.39 million in agriculture funding for projects in Maine. The funds are included in the fiscal year 2010 Agriculture Appropriations spending bill conference report which was approved today by the U.S. Senate by a vote of 76-22.
“Nevertheless, the Senate Finance Committee’s bill falls short of the goal of providing access to more affordable health care for all Americans. The goal of health care reform must be to rein in costs and provide consumers with more affordable choices. Yet, many individuals and families would be forced to pay more for their health care under the Finance Committee bill, and they would have fewer choices. Our health care reform efforts should give Americans more, not fewer, choices of affordable coverage options.

* Mind in the Forest
An intimate encounter with really old trees
by Scott Russell Sanders

I TOUCH TREES, as others might stroke the fenders of automobiles or finger silk fabrics or fondle cats. Trees do not purr, do not flatter, do not inspire a craving for ownership or power [wrong!]. They stand their ground, immune to merely human urges. Saplings yield under the weight of a hand and then spring back when the hand lifts away, but mature trees accept one’s touch without so much as a shiver.

While I am drawn to all ages and kinds, from maple sprouts barely tall enough to hold their leaves off the ground to towering sequoias with their crowns wreathed in fog, I am especially drawn to the ancient, battered ones, the survivors.

Recently I spent a week in the company of ancient trees. The season was Oct and the site was the drainage basin of Lookout Creek, on the western slope of the Cascade Mtns in OR. Back in my home ground of southern IN, the trees are hardwoods—maples and beeches and oaks, hickories and sycamores—and few are allowed to grow [by pink male corpos] for as long as a century without being felled by ax or saw. Here, the ruling trees are Douglas firs, western hemlocks, western red cedars, and Pacific yews, the oldest of them ranging in age from 500 to 800 years, veterans of countless fires, windstorms, landslides, insect infestations, and floods.

ON THE FIRST MORNING of my stay, I follow a trail through moist bottomland toward Lookout Creek, where I plan to spend half an hour or so in meditation. The morning fog is thick, so the treetops merge with gray sky. Condensation drips from every needle and leaf. My breath steams. Lime-green lichens, some as long as a horse’s tail, dangle from branches. Set off against the somber greens and browns of the conifers, the yellow and red leaves of vine maples, bigleaf maples, and dogwoods appear luminous in spite of the damp. Shelf fungi jut from the sides of old stumps like tiny balconies, and hemlock sprigs glisten atop nurse logs. The undergrowth is as dense as a winter pelt.

Along the way, I reach out to brush my fingers over dozens of big trees, but I keep moving, intent on my destination. Then I come upon a Douglas fir whose massive trunk, perhaps 4' in diameter at chest height, is surrounded by scaffolding, which provides a stage for rope-climbing by scientists and visiting schoolchildren. Something about this tree—its patience, its generosity, its dignity—stops me. I place my palms and forehead against the furrowed, moss-covered bark, and rest there for a spell. Gradually the agitation of travel seeps out of me and calm seeps in. Only after I stand back and open my eyes, and notice how the fog has begun to burn off, do I realize that my contact with this great tree must have lasted 15 or 20 minutes. ... http://www.orionmagazine.org/index.php/articles/article/5099/

We see that the good news about the coming announcement travels fast, and it has been received by many with great joy. It is as though a load has been lifted from your minds, and now you sit back a bit easier as you wait for what will be the first of many revelations.

The start is always the most important time, and is why the timing has been so critical. The truth about us and other visitors to your Earth, has to counteract the dark forces and their present attempt to bring doubt and fear into your minds where Swine Flu is concerned. You need an alternative subject to focus your attn on, and what could be better than the promise of the commencement of our activities revealing the truth about us. It will carry you forward on the crest of a wave of expectation, and firmly plant in your minds that the first contact has begun. It is then a matter of how quickly you understand how we will work with you, for commencement of the plan, covering the cleansing of Earth and your upliftment.

Certainly the picture will be clearly given so that every soul can decide whether or not to accept us. In spite of the completely positive nature of our message, there will still be some who prefer to remain in your present dimension. However, we expect more of you will find com-fort and hope in our messages, and the answers to the problems that wrack Earth at this time. ... http://www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/First_Contact/mike_quinsey/channeled%20messages/October%202009/salusa__23october2009.htm

* The Idea of Sufficiency

My Native American friend Xbox (not his real name, and anyway he’d rather be called Indian) talks about the idea of sufficiency. He does a lot of obscure reading and is a mine of unusual info and original conclusions. Anyway, he’d observed that when a tribal people were largely wiped out through disease or whatever, they would often return to their original numbers quite quickly, and then stay at roughly that number. It was like they would collectively have a sense of what was enough, what number could be supported by the environment. And from that came his idea that humans have a sense of sufficiency, of what is enough. Like when you’ve had enough to eat. ... http://astrotabletalk.blogspot.com/

The American Empire? Going... Going... GONE! It's not 2022 yet, but America's Pluto Return is already here.

---

Welcome to 2025: American Preeminence Is Disappearing Fifteen Years Early

Memo to the CIA: You may not be prepared for time-travel, but welcome to 2025 anyway! Your rooms may be a little small, your ability to demand better accommodations may have gone out the window, and the amenities may not be to your taste, but get used to it. It's going to be your reality from now on.

Okay, now for the serious version of the above: In November 2008, the National Intelligence Council (NIC), an affiliate of the Central Intelligence Agency, issued the latest in a series of futuristic publications intended to guide the incoming Obama administration. Peering into its analytic crystal ball in a report entitled Global Trends 2025, it predicted that America's global preeminence would gradually disappear over the next 15 years -- in conjunction with the rise of new global powerhouses, especially China and India. The report examined many facets of the future strategic environment, but its most startling, and news-making, finding concerned the projected long-term erosion of American dominance and the emergence of new global competitors. "Although the United States is likely to remain the single most powerful actor [in 2025]," it stated definitively, the country's "relative strength -- even in the military realm -- will decline and U.S. leverage will become more constrained."

That, of course, was then; this -- some 11 months into the future -- is now and how things have changed. Futuristic predictions will just have to catch up to the fast-shifting realities of the present moment. Although published after the onset of the global economic meltdown was underway, the report was written before the crisis reached its full proportions and so emphasized that the decline of American power would be gradual, extending over the assessment's 15-year time horizon. But the economic crisis and attendant events have radically upset that timetable. As a result of the mammoth economic losses suffered by the United States over the past year and China's stunning economic recovery, the global power shift the report predicted has accelerated. For all practical purposes, 2025 is here already.

Many of the broad, down-the-road predictions made in Global Trends 2025 have, in fact, already come to pass. Brazil, Russia, India, and China -- collectively known as the BRIC countries -- are already playing far more assertive roles in global economic affairs, as the report predicted would happen in perhaps a decade or so. At the same time, the dominant global role once monopolized by the United States with a helping hand from the major Western industrial powers -- collectively known as the Group of 7 (G-7) -- has already faded away at a remarkable pace. Countries that once looked to the United States for guidance on major international issues are ignoring Washington's counsel and instead creating their own autonomous policy networks. The United States is becoming less inclined to deploy its military forces abroad as rival powers increase their own capabilities and non-state actors rely on "asymmetrical" means of attack to overcome the U.S. advantage in conventional firepower.

No one seems to be saying this out loud -- yet -- but let's put it bluntly: less than a year into the 15-year span of Global Trends 2025, the days of America's unquestioned global dominance have come to an end. It may take a decade or two (or three) before historians will be able to look back and say with assurance, "That was the moment when the United States ceased to be the planet's preeminent power and was forced to behave like another major player in a world of many competing great powers." The indications of this great transition, however, are there for those who care to look.

My guess would be that by the time Uranus and Pluto reach the US Sun in 2014-15, it will finally be plainly obvious to the American people that their nation no longer dominates the globe. Some will no doubt be heartbroken at the loss of American preeminence, but personally, I say "who needs it?" We don't!

Okay, enough. We've tolerated this "war" in Afghanistan long enough. Both of the conflicts started by the bush[aholic] adm were the arrogant indulgences of a bloated, louche empire in decline. Like wealthy, young Victorian Brits who went off for a couple of years to Africa or India for an adventure among the brown people, this white colonial expedition is nothing more than a pathetic projection of putative power, and, like those Brits, some of whom made fortunes exploiting the lands and others who returned horribly scarred and dismembered, it's time to admit we're spread too thin and that if we haven't failed yet, failure, however long deferred, is merely the inevitable outcome of a mission that was doomed from day one. ... http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/

We either pull together or we just keep screaming and shouting at each other while the country continues its slide into oblivion.

If American can be saved it is up to us to do it. Barack Obama can't save America. Neither can Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Boehner, Eric Kantor, Mitch McConnell or even Sarah Palin.

The fault for America's decline lies with us.

So does the solution.

The only way America can be saved/changed is to dissolve the present form of government, and change the way business is done, and life is lived in this country, but that will be difficult to do, because it will be like taking a step backwards in time. Congress is too obstructionist. Laws take too long to be passed, bills take too long to be enacted. Less corporate dominance, more mom and pop operations. Keep things small and community based. Where I come from, 40 years ago there were no such things as credit cards, student loans, health insurance, big business, but most education was free and of a high standard. Food was healthy and most people cooked their own (no fast food joints), doctors' bills and hospital stays affordable, but nobody made obscene profits to the detriment of others. My middle class parents and others paid cash for everything they bought. Nobody was filthy rich, yet most people managed to save enough to send their kids abroad to University to earn their degrees. America was too wasteful in its boom years. Always too much spending and not enough saving, because that is what the government encourages, and practises - run up a lot of credit, then get punished for it.

Early returns Tue night showed the proposal winning with 72% of the vote. The measure would allow adults over 21 to have up to 1 ounce of marijuana.

The measure is largely symbolic because pot possession remains a state crime for people without medical clearance. But supporters said they wanted to send a message to local law enforcement to stop busting small-time pot smokers.

The vote comes as communities nationwide are struggling with how to enforce pot laws at a time when medical marijuana has surged in popularity. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/04/breckenridge-votes-overwh_n_344815.html

Clymela, My understanding is that you cannot diagnose Alzheimer's definintively unless a brain autopsy is done. My mother had dimensia that came from blocked arteries and taking too much tylenol with codine for 2-3 years. The doctor eventually diagnosed her with Alzheimers as "statistically" probable but I never believed it. Also, she never lost her personality, but did lose short-term memory, had memoments of confusion, and repeated questions a great deal. Yet, she was loving & lovable, charming, still sang, and enjoyed life... Among other things, she was on anti-depressants and it helped a lot. There is also a medication, Aricept, that is still used which delays development (we put her on it as we didn't know for sure what was happening). There may be even better things out now.

* TALIBAN = 9/11??
Afghanistan by Hypnosis

On 9/1101, my office building, the WTC, was attacked by al Qaeda, a murder cult of Saudi Arabians, funded by Saudi Arabians. And so, in response to the Saudis' attack, [USia] invaded ... Afghanistan. Like, HUH?

And here we go again. NYTimes headline last Fri: "Pakistani Army, In Its Campaign In Taliban Stronghold, Finds A Hint Of 9/11." Google it and you'll find the Times report repeated and amplified 5,785 times more.

Taliban = 9/11. Taliban = 9/11. Taliban = 9/11.

Your eyelids are getting heavy. Taliban = 9/11. Taliban = 9/11.

It's the latest hit from the same crew that brought you Saddam = 9/11 and its twin chant, Saddam = WMD, Dick Cheney's chimerical tropes which the NYTimes' Judith Miller happily channeled to the paper's front page.

And they're at it again.

Every war begins with a lie. In addition to Saddam = WMD, I'm old enough to remember the Gulf of Tonkin resolution authorizing the war in Vietnam, based on a fictional Vietnamese gunboat attack on our Navy. (White House recordings have Lyndon Johnson gloating privately, "Hell, those damn stupid [US] sailors were just shooting at flying fish.")

In the Glorious War against the Taliban in Afghanistan, the lie is thus: al Qaeda is "based" in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. If we don't fight the wily Taliban, as the British once fought the wily Pathan, al Qaeda will attack [USia] again from Talibanistan.

The latest Taliban=9/11 fantasy is a yarn spun wildly outward from the finding of a passport of an al Qaeda flunky who worked with suicide pilot Mohammed Atta in the same mountain area where, years later, a Taliban group operated. It's a stretch, but when you want to sell a war, it will do.

But selling the re-invasion of Afghanistan requires a repetition of Lie #1: that the original attack on the World Trade towers and the Pentagon were planned from Afghanistan's and Pakistan's mountains with the connivance of the Taliban.

It's not true, of course. The 9/11 attack was neither organized nor directed from Afghanistan by the Taliban. In fact, as our BBC Report found, it was clear that the attack on my friends and co-workers was planned and carried out by al Qaeda ops in Falls Church VA; Paris, France; Sarasota FL; Hamburg GER; — and, I repeat, funded and manned from Saudi Arabia. Neither the Sunshine State nor the Aryan namesake of the original beef patty sandwich were, nor are they now, convenient targets for a revenge attack by the 101st Airborne. ... http://www.gregpalast.com/taliban-911-afghanistan-by-hypnosis/

* A Truly Transformational Question

The question that floated into my consciousness a few weeks ago...was this: What would happen in your life if you decided everything that occurs is for your benefit?

Transformation is not optional

I don’t think anyone is getting out of this current larger cycle of reorganization and transformation without experiencing a personal shift, and for many of us, upheaval. At the least, this is calling us to self-examination, and, if we're sufficiently yielded to Spirit, a greater alignment with our Selves.

In my personal experience, anything that has been out of alignment in my life—be it with my relationships, with my money, with my ideas about security in general, with my career, with my health, with my habits, and most especially, with my Self—has come up in ways that have provided the very strong message that the status quo is not going to work anymore. ... http://www.juliarogershamrick.com/articles.html?article=transformation&title=A Truly Transformational Question

* Abortion rights and health care
Published by Eric Francis under Daily Astrology

A reader pointed out that Moon opposite Pluto in the US chart is an image of subtracting abortion from health care: an attack by govt (Pluto in Capricorn) on women (Moon in Cancer). Obviously this is unconstitutional, given that Roe v Wade is standing case law. Congress can’t ban getting treated for skin cancer; they can’t ban getting treated for a heart condition; they can’t ban prenatal care. Abortion is a medical right in 50 states, so how exactly does that get taken out? The way our govt works, the Supreme Court would need to sort that out, when the provision is challenged in a lawsuit.

But now we have another question: WHY exactly would they take it out of the health care law? And how can this happen without a debate, and without women speaking up, as if it’s just the normal thing you do nowadays? This question is more complex than is allowed into public discourse. When I explain to both men and women that banning abortion, or the attempt to do so, is to preserve a “traditional” role for women, that often comes as real news. This agenda needs to be explained. We can’t take it for granted that people understand, in the age of Abstinence Only indoctrination — a federal program with precisely the same agenda, which is, in a word, pregnancy. ... http://planetwaves.net/pagetwo/

I beleive that Obama is taking the tragic step of increasing our troops there because he KNOWS that if he does not the military will have him killed and there will be some type of coupe d'etat. I also do not accept what I believe -after all this is nuts. I know but then, I lived through the attack of 9/11 and the insane Bush years and now Obama with his promise of change and the most virulent racism and corporate hatred I have ever witnessed directed toward this actually quite refined man.
Oh yes this anti abortion attack is an attack on women and mothers and their children. The only comfort I find is knowing that these suckers will be brought down-just as the preachers of Pluto in Sagittarius have been revealed as money hungry, greedy liars that many have seen through.
I HATE the hypocrisy of the pro-life men-their wives, daughters, girlfriends, etc. do "manage" pregnancy when necessary-believe me these creeps do not welcome little Jesus bastards into their tents.

* The North Node

I’ve been toying with the idea that the North Node becomes more visible as we get older. The (North) Node, you could say, describes what we are here to become for karmic reasons, it describes the deeper issues that will sort, that will become empowered, if we become that Node. Because these things are deep, they are hard to see; in fact our life may apparently have had little to do with the Node, until after 40 years we look back and see how it all adds up. ...

* Truth and Ethics in America

"It is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things." - Henry David Thoreau

A Gothic Horror

We need a cosmic bypass to get around this monster trying to get its incisors into the collective hide. Apparently the empire is in such dire straits that the plutocracy is now turning on its own underlings to extract money by force. This is worse than taxation.

As I feared the recent election sent the party in power into overdrive, while the opp sees ripening fields developing. Never mind that these crops are on the way to destitution.

Survival is beckoning. Pluto works on the gut and the attempted passage of the extortion device termed as "health care" heralds a visceral disagreement between the people and the keepers of the wealth. The commoners sense the scam. They're getting slightly jaded now. This is another one of their famous heists but things are going wrong. The thing is losing its grip and pushing the rhythm, revealing some clumsiness. ... http://raginguniverse.blogspot.com/

* Nov 09 2009 This is the week

If it’s not clear that things are coming to a head, you can check the front page of CNN or you can check the astrology.

We’re also at quite season for anniversaries, from Sesame St to the fall of the Berlin Wall. 1969 was a watershed year: from the Moon landing to the Manson murders to Woodstock to the phrase “the personal is political” coming out of the feminist collective called Redstockings. '69 was all about the astrology, and so is this stretch of 2009-2010.

In seven short days, Saturn’s first square to Pluto is exact; the two planets are currently within 1/4 deg of exactitude; so this is the moment. You may be feeling this in your inner life, or personal life; the world is certainly going through some wild gyrations. We are in one of those moments when everything seems to happen at once – a kind of singularity point that might feel a little or a lot like an eclipse. If you’re paying attn, this will be one of those moments in time that you remember poignantly. ... http://planetwaves.net/pagetwo/

Well I disagree with "Raging Universe" on the healthcare debate and signing the bill which is not yet complete. She must be VERY secure to just flip away the issue.
I am hoping that this is the beginning of a turn around and I was inspired by the words of someone,a lawmaker, a woman but whose name I didn't get. She was discussing how long it took for people to get Social Security checks, how many times the law had to be tweeked so that it would work and not hurt the very people it was intended to help. I also know that to this day it is we peasants who pay for the program-the wealthy are pretty much exempted from the burdens of insuring a sort of basic insurance against the kind of poverty Charles Dickens wrote about.
I have disagreed with the author of Raging Universe before: I hear the words and thoughts of Relirious Science coming from her-a refined and moderate Republican outlook. I think that the path is for wealthy people of good spirit to relieve any type of guilt that they might feel because they have life so easy and others suffer.God knows I don't have any answers and all I am saying is that I don't agree with her here.

* SaLuSa 9-November-2009

The present times are such that you can review whatever of your old self is being carried forward. It is part of your personal cleansing that cuts links with certain aspects of your consciousness, that no longer serve one who is aspiring to raise their present levels. What you are wrestling with are thought forms that have long been part of your psyche. They determine your reaction to circumstances through your past experiences, and your own image as to who you think you are. You are faced with automatic responses, that can no longer align themselves with the changes you are making so that your consciousness may be uplifted. You can break the link by denying it your energy which will prevent it manifesting. Let thoughts pass through your mind in the same way that you become an observer of actual events, and release them straight away. Be assured that in time you will be able to take full command of your thoughts and actions.

You are becoming a stronger aspect of your Higher Self, and you will certainly have noticed the changes within Self. Instead of being bound by your upbringing and what is considered the “normal” way of life, you are open to guidance from the higher realms. This keeps you firmly on the path of evolution and of becoming a fully-fledged Being of Light, which is necessary if you are to be part of the Ascension process. You will find it gradually becomes easier to attain a higher level of consciousness, as the vibration on Earth is increasing at an ever faster rate. There has not been such an opportune time as now to leave the cycle of re-incarnation. You have as you might say, qualified to make your way to the higher dimensions. Duality has given you the background and mindset to realise that you have learnt sufficient from your experiences, to leave them behind. ... http://www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/First_Contact/mike_quinsey/channeled%20messages/November%202009/salusa__9november2009.htm

We definitely live under the rule of Shadow Government. I remember the sadness and mourning i went through when this was explained to me so long ago. That knowledge turned me into a socialist of the populist stripe.
I don't believe in the AIPAC is taking over the US. Ridiculous antisemitic bullshit. Whatever the US is doing comes from our own fat corn-fed generals and Yale/Harvard trained analysts and we would simply roll over on AIPAC and it would be squashed like a beetle stepped on by a cow. PLEASE!! let us look closer to home for the source of our support of Israel regardless of how rightwing/fascistic they become. * Dodd's Banking Bill Takes The Fed Down A Notch Or Two

"This is not a time for timidity," Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) said Tue as he unveiled what he called a "sweeping, bold, comprehensive, long overdue" restructuring of the financial regulatory regime - one that, unlike competing proposals, limits rather than expands the powers of the Federal Reserve.

Specifically, Dodd's bill takes away the Fed's regulatory power in some key areas. "I really want the Federal Reserve to get back to its core enterprises," Dodd said. "We saw over the last number of years when they took on consumer protection responsibilities and the regulation of bank holding companies, it was an abysmal failure. So the idea that we're going to go back and expand those roles and functions at the expense of the vitality of the core functions that they're designed to perform is going in the wrong way."

The bill would also end the practice of allowing banks to select the directors of the regional Federal Reserve banks. That was a last-minute addition that came after the committee's top Republican, Sen Richard Shelby of AL, told HuffPost he wanted to end the conflict of interest.

Dodd's bill is comprehensive, coming in at over 1,000 pages and tackling topics from derivatives reform to consumer financial protection. ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/10/dodds-proposed-financial_n_352235.html

http://www.tarot.com/articles/numerology/numerology-november-11-2009
In Numerology, three specific numbers are recognized as "Master numbers," because they are more influential than any other number. Those Master numbers are 11, 22 and 33. That's why November 11, 2009 is such an important date in Numerology: it's known as a "33 Universal Day," and for most of us, it will be the first we've ever experienced in our lifetimes. Considering
that 33 is the most powerful as well as the rarest of the three Master numbers, it's worth noting that this rarity occurs twice in November 2009: November 11 and November 29. To get a bit more technical, not only do these two dates add up to 33, but they are also the only two days between 2000 and 2017 that form a perfect triangle of 11-11-11 (the year 2009 reduces to 11 when adding 2 and 9).

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

quote 33
"This number has no individual meaning of it's own, but carries the same vibration as the 24- except that the magic of love, the extent of creativity, and the promise of eventual financial success are deepened, and increased. Due to the double 3, people whose name equals 33 are more fortunate in every way when involved in a harmonious partnership of some kind with the opposite sex, which applies to the career, as well as to romantic & marital relationships. This is the number of karmic reward. 33 people, are s advised not to abuse the astounding luck which will descend on them at sometime during the life by allowing it to tempt them into laziness, overconfidence, and a feeling of superiority. When a sense of humor and genuine humility accompany the 33 vibration, it's a wonderfully fortunate number."

And Sally, if you're reading. . .i can just bet every single person on this board sends you healing light/waves/energy every single day -- as do i.

Good astrologic piece focusing on women...

* The Moon Weeps, Venus Plans

Pluto Opposite Venus
South Node in Cancer
New Moon in Scorpio

I was taught that Scorpio governs female power and Leo that of the male. I've noticed male chauvinism in Leo men more than occasionally and I've witnessed bonding together of Scorpio women perhaps in memory of ancient eras when women ruled. There's an interesting glut of astrological aspects now concerning these two elements and I'd like to share with you some of my observations.
The Sun in Scorpio is shining on the reproductive function, Pluto opposite Venus in Cancer, along with Venus in Scorpio, is bringing buried feelings to the surface concerning women's value, the south node in Cancer is illuminating emotional hurts, a new moon in Scorpio is on the way, and Mars starting the long retrograde in Leo is factoring in the male principle with some gusto. That's quite a bit.

The trigger was pulled with the passage of the House health care bill, and then came pain hard and unexpected, although surreal as well, I felt.
While not forgetting the despicable character of our politicians, generally, nor that of a society that condones this sort of thing, then chooses them again, an opportunity has presented itself and the contributions of women in America could rate some notice. ... http://raginguniverse.blogspot.com/

Sweden has returned 22 skulls taken from indigenous cemeteries in Hawaii in the 19th C, in a solemn ceremony at Stockholm's antiquities museum. Museum director Lars Amreus said he hoped it would "fulfil the spiritual circle" of those whose graves had been violated by Swedish scientists.

Hawaiian delegates said the bones of their ancestors would now be re-buried "in the soil of their birth". The Swedish govt ordered the return of looted human remains in 2005. Bones have already been repatriated to Aborigines in Australia and a totem pole to a tribe in Canada.

* The Radical Wrong

Today, we’ll look at the Lou Dobb’s decline and fall, which is very good news for those who think news should BE news and not bloviating and misinfo, esp on CNN — and a sampling of this weeks wingnut hijinks’s, despite encouraging traction like Obama rejecting the Afghanistan projections and asking for something giving him an end-game. As well, the DoJ has finally jumped into reality and will hold trials for 9/11 terrorists in … gasp … NY, the scene of the crime where they should have been expedited years ago. The GOPers are just horrified by all of it and trumpeting fearspeak, but this is major movement. And as usual, we’re still taking the fun-rides in Crazyland so it’s hard to pull our heads out of our bums … with a loud pop, as Fishin’ Jim likes to say … long enough to notice.

Catholic Bishops joined the Dominionist’s in promoting the Coathanger Amendment that Barb Boxer has determined to eliminate and now they’re upping the ante in DC by announcing that they won’t con't to provide social service programs for some 68,000 souls if the city doesn’t change a proposed same-sex marriage law. Yeah — that’s what Jesus would do; coerce the desperate. Even the Mormons, who have some practice at “rendering unto Caesar” as regards marriage laws, took a stand for gender equity if not marriage this week. If you’d like to send a coathanger to one of the Dems who sold women out with their vote, Credo gives you an opportunity, here.

Hey all, my article is written and I will put it up in the morning. My left hand is throbbing so typing it up tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sorry indeed, Morgana, that your hand hurts so. Is the pain supposed to be temporary?

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hey JoannaOregon after I read your posts above I swore I must have channeled you on my first draft of my article. My last draft went a whole new direction. Anyway I accidentily stuck my thumb in my dogs mouth while she was having a seizure, almost severed...and waited over the weekend to avoid going into ER and having to explain the bite and all the crap that would bring down on my head, let alone being around swine flu aka H1N1 people who are really sick so I figured since I couldn't stop the bleeding I probably wouldn't get infected... okay so I did not get the flu, I did get an infection, I won't lose my thumb to gangrene antibiotics for several days, fancy space age bandages. So the pain is in my thumb but affects my whole hand or rather my thumb is connected to the other four fingers and moving them hurts the thumb. So I'm now 3 weeks down the road'ish healing. She got me below the nail bed, above the knuckle. The vet has her on meds now chinese herbs the western meds did more damage then good, working to bring her back to us. Otherwise my stepson was here for 10 weeks which roiled my world as my son moved out in out in out in, the birth of my grandson and the subsequent dramas (plural) attached to that I've been pretty grounded. Oh yeah and work has been a task master...I'm getting pretty good at few finger typing. So thanks for your patience I'll put a my fresh ditty tomorrow.

The new moon in Scorpio third decan adds a Cancer/Moon flavor, lot's of emotion today, dredging stuff up from the depths of our subconscious, emotionally volatile energy.
Also v/c good time for magic practitioners though.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh, thank you, Clymela, for your kind words. I don't know quite what I'd do without this site & all of you with your phenomenal warmth/support. Am reading this lovely book I ordered that's put a whole 'nother slant on things... things I thot I already "knew." By Julia Rogers Hanrick, her "Recreating Eden." I can hardly wait to retire at nite when I do a bit of reading out of the book. I tried to explain how spiritual energy works for me (positive/negative flowing cycle from the Big Generator in The Sky) to a group to which I belong. Suddenly, I sprouted at least six heads by the looks on their faces. ;O)

They're just not used to thinking of "higher power" as the author of energy that keeps one full of life & feeling wonderful/well, which is why I'm relearning this material 'cause I don't feel that since stoke/thyroid issues. I'm just not sure what "Higher POWER" is supposed to mean to them/us... we all've gotten way too much religiosity training, I think. And besides, it must surely not be really really real. I'd like to know how they/we think things exist... all them electrons, protons, and neutrons doing intelligently just what they're supposed to do.

Good morning wonderful AWer's. WOW QOP!! no wonder you don't have a lot of time for posting, etc. Joannaoregon please send more info on your subject of the gift of spiritual energy from unknown and yet embodied sources or is "embodied"a correct term.
Sending healing energy to Sally and Morgana. Love to you and strength.
Prayers for Obama today. Don't know why I say that but I suspect he is badly treated in China-I don't know but I think they are giving him the trouble they spared retarded boy when he was in office.
I found the contact Joannaoregon in GOGLE-thanks. Hope this doesn't turn out to be warmed over Religious Sciance-thanks again and I will probably order the book although right now I have been focusing on updating my astrological reading-the last years of regular employment took all even my mental energy. Thank goddess that I am free right now.
