VAPOR LOCK

How do you know you have not fulfilled your destiny? You're alive today (Illusions by Richard Bach)

Universal Health care seemed to be bookmarked by Teddy Roosevelt on one end who introduced the concept first, to another Teddy, Teddy Kennedy, who may have taken the concept with him.

I don't intend to write about Ted Kennedy, I could not improve on all that's been said and written. He started as the petted spoiled baby in a family of wealth and privilege and ended as perhaps one of the greatest friend and liberal voice of the people. The fight of his life was for health care for all, he never wavered from that dream and now that voice is silent when we need it most. My hope is his voice will still carry across that divide so that some, enough, will hear him.

Teddy Roosevelt and Teddy Kennedy is not who I will be writing about, I will save that for another time, but I am going to address Pluto in Capricorn and the messengers that are accompaning him along with Mercury Retrograde which hovers over Adonis, the largest black hole in the Universe with Pluto and Mars in a square. In September 1993 Bill Clinton chose this ill fated time to present his health care plan to the nation, if he had won he would have created one of the largest bureaucracies in the history of this nation (Alex Miller-Mignone from The Black Hole Book) In Sept. 1993 Pluto and Saturn were in a square from Aquarius to Scorpio, now Neptune conjoins the Saturn end in Aquarius and squares the Pluto end. Health Care looks a bit sick at this point. Still, there is an opportunity to pull a Rabbit out from the Alice In Wonderland rabbit hole.

The 2009 Inauguration started with a Mercury Retrograde and 29 degree Scorpio Moon, it did have to be redone but Mercury was still retrograde, and right now he is floundering with a disaster in his administration. Someone in his WH is playing him like a fiddle, probably several someone's. Obama simply cannot do business in the manner he thought he could, he does not have enough friends in Washington, it will be his second term (if he gets one) where he will begin to shine.

This Mercury retrograde is very interesting, not only because it's in a square to Pluto and Mars and soon Venus, not only because it's ushering in Pluto, and not only because it's on the Black Hole Adonis, it's because it lands in the same place it was in in September 1993 at the last health care go around only this time it's retrograde. There will be some type of health care passed but greatly watered down and difficult to administer, they will have to return to the issue, and Saturn will soon pass over the Adonis Black Hole and conj. the Democratic Party's North Node, something new is afoot for the Democrats that will be unfolding over the next year.
The question is will Mercury Retrograde reach into the 1993 past and bring forward what they lost in health care reform then, it is possible

The Saturn/Uranus opposition continues in their fight between the status quo and the progressive new and will continue through 2010 and the status quo is trying to hang on with a death grip on this country. Although it doesn't seem like it since 1980 and the redistribution of wealth began in earnest while the people were lulled in to easy money they could not pay back, the progressives have had over a 60 year run and they passed every thing from title 9 to civil rights. We've seen vast changes in human rights and civil rights over the last several decades, might not seem like it because while Congress had no problems passing trillions for the military industrial complex, giving tons away to banks and insurance and progressives had to fight for everything they got, they still got it. Now the "status quo" is trying to turn back the clock to where it was in the 60's with Uranus in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces, another fight between progressive and conservative.

While yes it's obvious that the US is being brought to a third world status and to our knees economically for the time being, It won't last forever. There are two dreams out there of America, one is an America controlled with power all in the hands of the corporations with the people as, I don't know, "SERFS!" and the other is equality for all. Right now the conservative dream is winning, at least so it seems.

Obama does not know what he is doing and flounders in confusion, Lincoln didn't knwo what he was doing and neither did FDR at least not in the beginning. However, I will say Obama needs to find his voice, not his advisors or the GOP or the Blue Dogs and we need as a people to find ours.

The economy is not in recovery and September will show that. Texas will not leave the Union, sad but true but it is a harbinger of what is coming as anger continues to rise in this country and the media continues to make it seem as if the crazies have taken over the country. They haven't but the media is pushing that one until we think there aren't any voices of reason out there. A lot of people, even the reasoned voices have not figured out who the enemy is in this country.

Swine flu or whatever it really is will take its toll as Pluto opposes Venus the ruler of the US 6the house of health and work is being opposed by Pluto and I think we will see a rise of that beginning in September and through most of the winter.

The fall and winter of 2009/2010 is not a pretty picture, however it's never what happens to us it's how we deal with what is happening that is dependent on how we come out of any situation. Do energy work, take lots of Vitamin D3 and stay happy. Whatever you worry about won't be there in a year, it will be something else so slough off as much negative thoughts as possible and keep writing/calling the WH.

Sally, It's wonderful to hear your unique perspective of events once more. It has been sorely missed these last few months.
Love the quote from Richard Bach!

Here's an interesting little embellishment in the news!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/02/miyuki-hatoyama-japans-ne_n_275311.html
Miyuki said she's been to outer space.
"While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus," Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of premier-in-waiting Yukio Hatoyama, wrote in a book published last year.

"It was a very beautiful place and it was really green."

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, great piece. For the record, I believe it is "serfs" (a feudal word). I've been thinking that for quite some time!

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ha Marta, that's a typo, I was writing this at 4:00am, couldn't sleep, if that's the only typo I would be amazed. I will fix it because it is serfs and that's exactly what they want from us, serve the elite at will. I look at the Washington "family on C Street" and those men actually believe they have been elevated by God to rule and we are not. That pedestal needs to fall soon. Thanks for letting me know about the typo

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, my pleasure. It's wonderful to hear from you. PS that volcano you warned me about sure has run down my alley since we last spoke. Yikes! You have no idea!!! Sorry you couldn't sleep last night. Chamomile sometimes helps, warm milk with some vanilla or better yet that good 'ole folk remedy, Mary Jane, is recommended! Be well!

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, you sound like your old feisty self again. Glad to have you back. Hope you're taking good care of yourself.

Old Mayfly [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, so glad you are back.

I have whiplash from the contradictory "we're going to get a good progressive health care reform law " vs. "the fix is in--the health insurance companies have won."

It will be a relief to read your take on the cosmic patterns.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Brought forward from Bird Word.....You posted this on Aug 31, Sally.
"Claudia Dikinis said years ago that when Pluto went into Capricorn we would see just how much corporations own us and I said they would be doing their best to take us back to the feudal system of government, they've been working on it for years. http://www.wsws.org/articles/2009/aug2009/acad-a31.shtml This is happening in this country as well in education, health care, military, all manner of things the corporations are slowly taking us over, not so different than it was in the 1700's.

I'm more sure than I have ever been that there will be another revolution in this country when Pluto gets to it's 1776 placement, I'm just not sure whether it will be from the right or left of this country. As Ted Kennedy was fond of saying "the dream lives on," and so it does, the dreams of what we thought we were and what we wanted to be from the beginning of this country."
..............................................
I found this, this morning in the NYT. It parallels......the time line...............
The birth of economics as a discipline is usually credited to Adam Smith, who published “The Wealth of Nations” in 1776. ( Pluto in Capricorn!)
Over the next 160 years an extensive body of economic theory was developed, whose central message was: Trust the market. Yes, economists admitted that there were cases in which markets might fail, of which the most important was the case of “externalities” — costs that people impose on others without paying the price, like traffic congestion or pollution. But the basic presumption of “neoclassical” economics (named after the late-19th-century theorists who elaborated on the concepts of their “classical” predecessors) was that we should have faith in the market system.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/06/magazine/06Economic-t.html?_r=1 Krugman!
Read the link.........John Maynard Keynes......
led the way in a revised economy after the depression, that produced the most productive and gainful time period for the "SERFS" this country has seen.!
This runs alongside ands supports the second dream you mention above, Sally, the gains made by progressives in the last 60 years.
It would be interesting to see astrological profiles of both Smith & Keynes within their astorological time framework! You could add Fredrick Hayak, & Milton Friedman who have picked up Smith's torch and driven us off the cliff again!

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally!! We are blessed to find you back in the saddle again. We don't mind if you need to stop and rest sometimes we are just so happy to have your wisdom and insight. Thank you for this.
I am "seeing" Obama as oppressed right now and you point to that here. My "seeing" is just an intuitive flash but he seems hesitant in a manner that I haven't seen before. Perhaps the loss of Kennedy is deeper than I realized but I am imagining it comes from the weight of watching the destruction of the medical coverage bill and the forced build up of the war in Afghanistan. This is reminding me of Johnson who did some brave things and then had to leave in disgrace.
I am shocked and dismayed that Obama disowns the progressives through his "talkers" when it was us, the loonie left, who got him elected. And I am amazed that the "old people" have fallen for the corporate theatrics regarding health care.
Well ,dear one, thanks to you I have some positive ideas to ponder and to hopefully generate creative thinking in me and then out to the world on this full moon day.

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Whooooooooopy! I'm celebrating today! Maybe the reason you couldn't sleep, Sally, was that you had to write this and share the wisdom of your observations.

This Saturn/Uranus opposition reminds of three-year-old behavior, for at the age we learn about lying. We either learn to create bigger and grander lies, or we learn the consequences of them. We either begin learning what self responsibility is, or learn how to blame others.

I have great faith that in time this country will once again rebalance. My great hope, however, is that we will have achieved a breakthrough in consciousness, one that changes the way we treat one another, the earth and alters the course of history.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I see Obama as hesitant as well, however I think it's over all the conflicting information he's getting and his fear of not passing a bill that people support and believe in. They say he promised Ted Kennedy to reform health care, but I believe he also thought he could do it by making faustian deals with Insurance and drug companies, thanks to Rahm Emanuel's input and perhaps the Clinton's. Obama has all along given way to banking, insurance and drug companies at the expense of the people, I don't think he knows he can do it another way or he just doesn't know how to deal with them, FDR made the same mistakes in the beginning of his first term. The advantage FDR had was coming from that particular sector of society and had friends who could wield power, Obama does not and it was a very different world then.

Astrologically the fact that Mercury is on the black hole Adonis squared by Mars and Pluto over the last few weeks is huge and certainly what has come bubbling up from that black hole over this summer has been sickening. I think the next few days is going to be somewhat explosive what with Mercury going retrograde, the full moon and Pluto going direct; but I also think there is going to be a shift away from the recent dialogue, whether it will bring us health care reform I don't know, but I do know this is the doorway to one of the President Obama epiphany's I saw him having this next year.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Maybe the dialogue is changing and we've worn ourselves out on anger and are ready to listen and really shine that spotlight on the problems in health care and listen and hear to what is being said.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6462678

I saw a clip of Al Franken talking down and actually calming some teabaggers.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Listen & HEAR what is being said!
'Cause you can talk 'till you're blue in the face and if no-one is listening...................
nothing is accomplished.............
I wonder if there is a gimmick/system, like the language thing, to enhance people's attention on one?

person [TypeKey Profile Page]:

isn't mercury retrograde more about the listening rather than the saying?

Could it be this is THE TIME for heath care / disease / insurance / responsibilty to sparkle and shine ?

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Good point!

Timmy J [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hello Sally and all! Regarding hope: Yes, Pluto is eating its children at present, but, soon it will have sex with the Mother of Invention (the USA)a gestation time (put in your gardens of self sufficiency) will be necessary, and then birth or a new spring for the USA takes place. Keep your gardens in place during the maturation process........I don't know, but it seems the Asians, the new superpowers, are copycatting the west with banking, stock markets and all. It may be the USA which again brings forth new social progress. I think we may see ease of cooperation and collaboration in community rather than legislation of same, or, socialism. With the chaos may come the freedom to finish developing zero point energy systems which will probably revolutionize health care as well. (I've read at Tom Bearden's website the zero point in the body takes place at the nerve endings.)......Oh yes, exciting and inspiring times are waiting..........Hoohaw, Timmy J

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hey Sally so good to seeing you here. I attended a Town Hall meeting last night. The place was packed. A couple of birthers/disrupters were there which we think were escorted out by the security. We had about 12 law enforcements types there. We live in a dark blue area. The crowd made it clear we wanted Single Payer, Public option, no if ands or buts.

The only way we're going to get this is if we the people make Obama stand up for us. We have to make a loud noise.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Approximately 45 people, many of them holding signs and waving placards, delivered some of what they said were more than 35,000 letters, postcards, e-mails and online petitions that urge Congress to pass a national health care reform bill.
Sue Berryhill of Garland observed the event from a distance while holding a sign that said, “Government stay out of my health care and my life.” Berryhill was the lone counter-protester, a fact she attributed to people being unable to attend because they were working.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Tomorrow and Sunday could be difficult days for anyone with six or seven degree cardinal signs with Mercury and Mars in a square and the Moon setting it all off. The trick is not to carry any anger or anomosity into the Mercury retrograde or shake off any and all "chippy" emotions emiting from you or coming at you. There is a lot of angry words and emotions out there and the majority of people are getting tired of it all. I still think the anger is going into the "black hole" and the dialogue does change, some of these people are over the top now and I don't see them climbing down until Monday.

My Moon is at 6'50" Capricorn. No real anger here, though I'm looking over my shoulder, as well as looking ahead and pondering an upcoming square from Saturn in Libra, followed by Uranus in Aries and Pluto conjunct my Moon over the next three years. Looks like a very wild ride, to be sure.

The anger I do see is often valid, given everything else people are facing, but it is also very much misplaced and misdirected, stemming from all-too-typical American "they're out to get us" paranoia, outright fear and willful, knuckle-dragging ignorance. When I had more time and patience, I used to spend hours on forums butting heads with these fools and trying to get them to wake up and see how they were rabidly fighting against their own best interests, to no avail.

Middle and working class Americans railing against single-payer health care in favor of the Private Health Care Industry is akin to Chickens protesting plans to shut down all of the KFCs in favor of Colonel Sanders. As silly as that might sound, it's exactly what's happening. People might as well be pieces of meat to the Health Care Industry, whose primary objective is to make profit, not save lives. They couldn't care less about you as a person, but so many people are ignorant and unaware of this reality, choosing instead to buy into all of the corporate-manufactured propaganda and the Republicans' appeals to their prejudices and ignorance.

I'm tired of fighting. I'm not giving up, entirely, but I also know that I can't save people from the worst of themselves. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

I think it will take the loss of much if not all of the US' long-standing "advantages" -- including the dollar as the world's reserve currency, our global military reach, and our access to cheap oil, before Americans are finally shocked wide awake and forced to come to terms with the high price of the sheer dumbassery that we have permitted to prevail throughout every aspect of our lives.

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Neo, it's great to see your magical writing. Frankly, each one of us have experienced this. There are times that a deep tiredness seems to penetrate and cloud my consciousness, an ennui of spirit. After a few good physical workouts in the garden or chopping, stacking wood, or ripping through a board to make another piece of rustic furniture, i'm alright. Then, whipping that snail-mail letter off to any number of policy makers, seems oh-so much easier. I'm in such a rural area that i no longer make the trek to particpate in those protest marches (which so few ever participated in). It is with an ironic smile that i watch those boneheads with guns on their hips out protesting. "You're gonna shoot your eye out!" :) Seriously, however, it seems as if a large segment of this population has been subject mind-numbing nano drugs introduced to them in KFC or McD's.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"Imagine a world wherein you awake each morning only when you are ready--from a sleep that leaves you perfectly refreshed and prepared to meet the day ahead. You eat whatever it is that pleases you, and you ask your body and mind what it desires next. You do this consciously, and in the moment, not adhering to some pre-ordered schedule that was set weeks ago, and penciled into a calendar which you allow to rule your life.

When you have decided what you wish to do, you set out on a road that will take you where you need to be. In the World of "Time/No-Time" there is no such thing as an "appointment." When a Reconnected Heart Space is allowed to freely orchestrate your lives, rather than your Separation Minds, everything and everyone becomes aligned within a synchronized flow. The tasks you wish to perform, and the people with whom you will perform them are all part of the same One Being. When humankind truly believes this, and begins to live according to that belief, the illusion known as "conflict" will begin to fade.

More and more, people will just begin "showing up" precisely at the time others are ready to see them. If a person sets out upon a journey and his desires suddenly shift, he will simply alter his path in accordance with the energy of the moment. Obstacles that appear to be blocking the attainment of some goal will no longer be considered to be your enemies. Rather, they will be interpreted as signs that you have gotten a bit off-course in your inner connection, and you need to re-examine your perceived desires.

The Law of Reciprocity states that it is energetically impossible for one person to desire something of another that does not have a significant meaning for both. After all, there is only one of you there! At the same time, a statement of "No, thank you....," coming from one side of an interaction is automatically reflective of both sides. What you tend to think of as a "conflict of opinion" will eventually be recognized for what it truly is--an opportunity for two beings in physical space to experience and celebrate their multidimensional nature. ... http://www.reconnections.net/index2.htm

Neo

I haven't posted here much recently, but had to respond to the last paragraph of your very recent excellent post.

Personally, although I've been living outside the U.S. for the last seven years, I try very hard to keep up with things here, and totally agree with you about so many Americans.

Although a non-astrologer, I do know a bit about economics and geo-politics, and believe the time is very fast approaching when the U.S. gets a big fat wake up call on all the fronts you mention.

Consider Ben Barnanke's smokin' printing presses working overtime to "monetize" the U.S. debt (i.e. printing fiat "money" out of thin air to buy up the U.S. Treasury bonds foreigners are no longer willing to buy in such big numbers, being fearful of our totally out of control and ever spiraling debt, and ultimately the U.S.' ability to repay).

This will soon inevitably lead to a real spike in inflation, resulting in all the things you talk about.

Bushco's having eagerly stolen everything that was not nailed down, and the current misguided multiple "stimulus" plans basically just benefitting several huge banks, also have not helped in this matter, along with Obama's strong (and to me very strange in light of his campaign posture) determination to play Lyndon Johnson redux in getting us more deeply stuck in the quagmire/big muddy of Afghanistan.

I don't see how a huge jump in energy prices can be avoided (the only question is to what extent) and the dollar as Global reserve currency is slowly but surely on its way out.

Also I think the money has to soon just simply 'dry up' for more military misadventures, so I believe its just a matter of time now (perhaps even just several months) before the "dumbassers" are forced to wake up to just how badly they've been punked and by whom, when they can no longer afford any more SUV fillups and Walmart shopping expeditions.

Unfortunately a lot of good people both inside and outside the U.S. will also be hurt by all this (talk about your "collateral damage")

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Amen Neo and right on target, that's exactly what's going to happen. I look at the people on this site and see everyone of them trying to create a calm and safe place in their lives, observing but not engaging in the insanity.

Grizzly, you are also right in your assessments. The "push me pull you" is in evidence and I wish we were looking at a dying attitude in this country but they aren't on life support yet, only in their own sick rabid minds. These crazed folks do not know who their enemy is and it's going to take them a while to discover who and then it will be too late.

Grizzly [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks for the words of support Sally. Just several minutes ago, I was once again saddened by a new headline from the Washington Post "Obama administration decides to keep information on terror watch list secret"

This means that even if you have already purchased a ticket for an airline flight and have a confirmed reservation, the person at the check in counter can simply tell you that you cannot board the airplane, and you have absolutely no recourse in terms of finding out why, as your name has just appeared on the "No fly list".

Well, you have no right to challenge either the grounds for being on the list, or even the technical accuracy of your name's appearance there (many, many people have evidently been put on this list in error, due to a name similarity with other people).

So much for transparency, due process, the right to challenge/face your accusers, etc. Sorry for my bluntness, but I'm getting increasingly sick and tired of watching the same level of civil liberties infractions(invoking the state secrecy act when not wishing to disclose information, asserting the Presidential right to indefinite detentions of U.S. citizens without trial, random searches and even seizures of computers from Americans returning to the U.S from abroad, continuation of warrantless wiretaps with immunity for telecom companies found guilty in the past, etc.

What is really going on here, I am wondering?

Nancy over on Starlight News wrote about Obama having a transit of Neptune over his Ascendant and then over his South Node. She points at this as responsible for his "limpness" which right now is driving me crazy. He has kept all the central bank guys, he is expanding the war in Afghanistan by allowing the slaughter of innocents with only a shrug while I am left screaming at the tv and radio. He seems unable to stop the big money from having it their way-oh Bildeburgers!!! And yes there is this inflationary money thing going on. I heard an idiot on the tv cheering that the cost of housing was going up as if more and more Americans can afford to pay more and more for their houses and I thought of friends who got slaughtered in the mortgage bubble-good people not the "trash" Obama seemed so annoyed with, people who could have stayed in their houses if they could have gotten loans that were fair. Read up on the squating movement in the Bronx in the 80's and 90's-that was the Big guys practice for what they are doing all over the Bay Area (well SF Bay Area. I don't know about the Boston Bay area) Out here someone is still building townhouses, condos close in but NO ONE is buying. Whats up with this?? * Our Great [USian] Dick

That we still don’t have healthcare in this nation, causing our citizens to suffer needlessly and up to 20,000 a year to die of neglect, is a national disgrace — that we still have a heated conversation about torture and its efficacy is a national outrage, and needs to be rooted out at its dark, sadistic source: which brings us to the topic of the day.

Uncle Dick.

Here’s Ann Telnaes to tell you about him … and his friends.

One could argue that Dick’s simply his usual gung-ho self about those ideological absolutes of his … or perhaps he’s rattled that we’re finally edging closer to him. Either way, he’s shooting his mouth off again … as is his daughter, who seemed to think Meet the Press was just like FAUX, arguing and talking over the other guests [watch Sam Donaldson take her on, below.] Manners, Ms. Cheney? Oh, right — not in the [Repulsive] playbook.

It would have seemed logical to expect Dick to step back into the shadows after 2008, with the Dubby wandering, leashless, to inflict himself on those willing to pay for his speeches. Who could have guessed that Darth would be driving political news in the summer of ‘09 … while Dub walks the dogs and keeps his yap shut?

Uncle Dick, still strutting around without handcuffs … sad to say. Bonus section is Scott Horton and Ted Rall on the larger issues. ... http://polwaves.planetwaves.net/

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The article qop posted that was written by H2O is not only interesting but accurate. I've said for over 6 years that WE are the leaders we are looking for. It seems the people (us) cannot step out of fear and hopelessness, looking for someone to save us, and it doesn't look like it will be Obama, not now.

Neptune hasn't even reached his south node so while he may feel discombobbled, it's more to his generational Uranus affecting his entire generation and it won't be until spring that Neptune reaches not only his SN but the US Moon which will place a cloud of confusion over this country, (like we haven't been confused for several years.)and confusion over how the people feel about Obama, the Moon rules the US Sun, Venus, Jupiter and Mercury, every aspect of our lives will be affected, it also rules the 8th house in the US chart, we won't even see or understand how our money and resources are being drained off. We do have to stop sticking our head in the sand with the hope that someone is going to save us, this government won't, but they are playing the game like they will.

Don't forget........Picasso's Guernica; ( removed) was the first screaming clue that something was dishonest back in 2003.( Propaganda alert)
The tapestry replica hanging in the UN, was REMOVED as backdrop the day Colin Powell spoke in front of the innocuous patterned curtains. Guernica was replaced to that spot several days later.!
A population that doesn't know Guernica, from Adam ( Sistine Chapel ceiling)is going to drink the koolade!

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh wonderful Artist friend thank you so much for the little class on Guernica. Although he always frightened me I have been so moved by Guernica-his imagery so captured the death and chaos of war. I who have never lived through war have lived through it through his art. And I didn't know about the stealth removal of this when the Americans decided to invade Iraq-what a give away for those who understand symbology.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

You betcha..................I also read the fear in the eyes of he little white Rabbit of an Iraq Ambassador to the UN & could see he was caught between GW & Saddam, and there were no WMD's.
Wasn't that an excellent article by Arianna Huffington?
Moreover..years ago. I saw a retrospective exhibit of Picasso's work @ the Phila. Museum of Art. I observed that the viewers, as they moved from room to room, starting with his relatively calm early works through the cubist and the stark contrasts, jumpy composition....they became more animated agitated moved faster & a little jerkier.....talked louder..........
The ingredients for Propaganda!

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I have grown to appreciate and love Picasso's work and have absolutely loved Guernica, the symbolism is some of the most powerful I've seen. The article on Huffpo was indeed excellent and I do remember when they removed the Guernica for Colin Powell, I expect it was too frightening and haunting for insane people

Interesting article on Obama's health care faux pas (the many ...) and read the posts after. Very enlightening. PS it's from the left, but if you're looking for fawning, let's let Obama off the hook, or let's "hope" he's going to do the right thing, brace yourself. Here is Picasso's OTHER less known, statement against war. It's harder to photograph because it is done on panels, installed up & around a semicircular vaulted ceiling in the chapel.
My husband & I saw this in '68, just 14 years after it's installation. It is stronger than Guernica, because the symbolism is more contrasting, , the colors elicit emotion............although the stark black& white of Guernica is powerful!
Interesting, tho he was destructive in his personal life, he made the strongest statement against war & violence that any artist ever has!

Thank you for the opportunity to see the Picasso art in different settings and especially for the Picasso Summer video. In response to your question about why we don't have this type of movie anymore-that is the clearest symbol of the ravages of the corporate domination and how better to illustrate our poverty than with Picasso. How sad indeed that we all must now realize what Picasso saw so clearly so long ago now.

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

This is right on the mark, Marta. In addition, what puzzles me is the way the so-called healthcare debate was framed from the beginning. Had the debate been framed around the cost to taxpayers of our usury system, this would be a no brainer. The debate instead has been designed to protect the incoherent profits of a narrowing field of insurance providers. Further, the cost of our current system is costing millions upon millions of jobs. Those goods manufacturers who supplied those millions of jobs have offshored and ALL have pointed to the exorbitant costs of doing business on this continent.

Logically, this makes absolutely no sense to me. The only thing that i can extrapolate is that companies are not planning for a long term future, rather they seem to be looking only to the next quarter's profit. It's a high stakes gamble. The very earth and all her inhabitants are now at stake.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Qop and Karen, I don't think it's every been about reforming healthcare for us. It's just another way to pump up the profits of one industry so the flow of money to a select few continues. Anything else is irrelevant.

BTW, a rep from BCBS has already told me the details of what "healthcare reform" will be. They've already worked it out (this was told to me a few months ago). They're giving up pre-existing conditions for a mandate that everybody has to have insurance. They have already designed the shitty insurance policies they will sell us. High premiums, high deductibles. The goal is you never get to use your plan. How's that for a great business. You feelin' like a cow yet? As in "cash cow"?

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

MArta...That's why I am posting the Picasso links. dwelling on the health care reform is just the virgo straining to see the patterns of the bark, failing to see what is coming through the woods!
Sally, as usual you are so deeep! It took me a while to iunderstand what you were saying: "I expect it was too frightening and haunting for insane people"
My perspective was more Gemini communicating outward.................propaganda! You nailed the root!

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Exactly, Marta and qop. We're all saying the same thing. Yet, it remains illogical simply because it cannot be sustained. Now, add to this dimension, the current astrological climate with Neptune continuing to fog the above "real" discourse, that is how to re-invent ourselves, and recreate the vision of a collective powerhouse. That is why it is necessary to infuse the discussion with ideas that may take root. That is why it is necessary to reduce what has become a growing dependency on mega corporate entities. Reframe our purchases, for instance, and buy what we need, not what we want. Reframe the way we consume energy. Most importantly, reframe the insidious notion of class. Each entity is here to create and contribute in vital ways. Historically, we have come close to realizing that on more than one occasion, yet this universal truth continues to be the one truth under the greatest assault.

I have another cockeyed notion, as well. Death levels the playing field. We all pass from the physical dimension. However, this too has been abrogated to irrational and illogical belief systems. All of it designed to confer power on a few. Sinners become the lower class, royalty appointed by god. Sinners can only obtain the favor of god by being obsequious and tithing. Mega corporations have applied this same theory quite well, don't you think?

Health Care Speech Sept. 9, 2009 8:16pm Washington, DC

And the fight goes on. An Aries Asc and the ruler is Mars in a separating square to Mercury in the sixth house. Uranus in the 12th opposite Saturn in the 6th, a push and pull aspect between status quo and progressive move forward, I would feel more confidant if it was Uranus in the 6th, I can almost hear the
mechanizations going on in the background right now. A T-square beteeen Venus, Jupiter and the Moon gave us a down to earth, really beautiful speech, but it will be hard to follow through. The US Mercury gets lots of hits, an Inconj. from Neptune, a trine from Uranus and a sextile from Saturn, hard to know which way is up with that cnfiguration. The Uranus and the Saturn both will try to pull the progressive best from Mercury while Saturn will attempt to or take every opportunity to make sure the status quo remains, while Neptune clouds and confuses the real issues and Saturn rules the mid-heaven in this chart and the most confused will be Obama. On top of it all Mercury is retrograde. This is going to be a hard month for health care and there will be a feel of a last chance to the whole thing

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

From BOLD Progressives.org in my e-mail.
Tonight, we saw a momentum-shifting speech from President Obama -- and progressives who had the courage to speak up in recent days helped make it happen.

After an emergency, 6-day campaign -- launched as the West Wing was debating what would be in the president's speech -- President Obama did what so many of us urged him to do.

Obama embraced the public health insurance option and explained why insurers that profit by denying care need competition. To be fair, there were downsides, such as framing a public option with 60%-70% support as a left-wing proposal. We'll need to keep urging the president to think big and fulfill his mandate.

But overall, his speech moved momentum to a better place than it was 24 hours ago, and Obama used fighting words: promising to "call out" anyone who spreads misinformation to kill reform. One person immediately deserves to be "called out." Right-wing Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) played the roll of teabagger by yelling "You lie!" at the president. Let's go on offense -- will you sign this petition to Congress?

WHAT SUPPORTS MY CREATIVITY & CRITICAL CLEAR THINKING? ARMOUR THYROID PILLS!
MY PHARMACIST IS OUT. HE SOLD THE LAST 2 MONTHS SUPPLY TO ME..............then I go ZOMBIE!
Given that the big drug companies -- who have undue influence the FDA -- stand to benefit financially by getting natural desiccated off the market, should we assume that the lack of a clear answer from the FDA is a positive sign?

http://thyroid.about.com/b/2009/08/28/fda-future-natural-thyroid.htm?nl=1
* Weeks ago, a major "big pharma" insider, Medco, sent a nationwide notice to doctors declaring that the FDA was taking all natural desiccated thyroid drugs off the market, and that doctors should switch patients to levothyroxine drugs
* We currently have an unexplained nationwide unavailability of Thyroid USP, the raw material that is used to manufacture natural thyroid drugs.
* Since the spring, production of three different natural desiccated thyroid drugs -- Biotech, TimeCapLabs and Major -- have been shut down. We know that TimeCapLabs was shut down in response to a publicly available notification letter they received from the FDA. The second-hand information is that Biotech and Major were also shut down by the FDA.
* We have the actual letter the FDA sent to TimeCapLabs, stating that natural desiccated thyroid requires a new drug application (NDA).
* Throughout the U.S., we have dwindling to non-existent supplies of Armour, Nature-Throid and Westhroid on the market, and most patients are now unable to get new or refilled prescriptions for these medications. Given the nationwide shortage of raw material, compounded capsules of natural desiccated thyroid is also unavailable to most patients.
* RLC is saying that it will be at least 90 days before they have any new product (Nature-Throid/Westhroid) to ship.
* Forest, which makes Armour, the most prescribed brand of natural desiccated thyroid, will provide no estimate whatsoever regarding when they expect to have any product available to ship.
AN awful lot of people in thei country will LOSE THEIR CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY without this drug! The synthetic drug doesn't contain T 2 present in human & pig thyroid glands!

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

qop, there is something terribly fishy about this. Thyroid supplements are necessary for a number of other functions in addition to those you mention.

I've had a day to think about Obama's speech. My first response was "he nailed it." And, in many ways he did, especially the great dignity he brings to the office and made all the more authentic against the backdrop of disrespect.

But, like disappearance of natural thyroid meds, we are seeing the dissolution and disappearance of humanism. Basing our acts on whether we will "profit" has distorted our collective psychology, thereby legitimizing any act allowing us to profit off one another.

The continuing economic declines especially for those who aren't paying to play will deepen. The game change began some time ago, but will now be laid at the feet of Obama. Surely he must be keenly aware of this even if the majority of Americans are only slowly recognizing they've been screwed.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yes think about it karen..........when I was trying to find the tyroid replacement that worked ( restored the creative edge), I sent for a paper by Dr. Broda Barnes. then shunned by the AMA, now accepted as valid.......'he stated that hypothyroid people attract each other & breed producing hypothyroid children ( Americans fat & stupid? you betcha!)

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Tonight Bill Maher suggested that Obama start standing up for the 70% of the people in this country who aren't crazy. I think that's a good suggestion. The "reforms" on Wall Street are being called "weak and watered down" This President, like all presidents in the last 40 years are governed and controlled by the international banking robbers, so are all the other countries.

Joe Wilson who yelled out "you lie" to the President seems fitting for the Pluto direct, with part of those 30% crazies out demanding "no health care reform" is from South Carolina, the site of the first shot of the Civil War when the South took Ft. Sumter in the Charleston Harbor on April 12, 1861 at 4:30am, the South thinks they can rise again. Several states want to secede from the Union, they might find that too many northerners have moved their and don't have the stomach to secede or to fight another Civil War in order to replace the egos of those southern white english gentleman who lost their egos a century ago in drinks mixed with a heavy dose of whiskey

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The importance of Pluto going direct and Mercury retrograding back over a square to Pluto cannot be underestimated in today's emotional climate. Mercury retro is going to mean we go back old ground over health care with the most rabid of us believing they are leading the band fueled my insurance companies and immoral politicians.

But the big news going into 2010 is the continuing Saturn/Uranus opposition. This particular opposition is as dramatic as the period of time in the 1800's when we went from the agricultureal to industrial revolution. The family fram alone could not sustain our way of life and industrialization held us up, we are at that point again. Industry cannot hold up our capitalistic/consummer society. Banks are failing, business as is is failing, just as the family farms failed in the 1800's, we are on the road to economic and cultural change. The old models that we've had simply don't work for the world any more and we cannot see where we are headed but the status quo over the last 150 years is and will shift big time, there's no stopping it now, there never was any stopping the roll of the universe. We don't know as yet what we are going toward, I expect information technology which leaves some of us at a disadvantage and we will need re-education even if we are in our 60's and 70's we will have to find a way to support ourselves and information tech will leave more doors open for all of us just like industry opened more doors for people than the family farms.

I want to say "stay away from the TV" don't listen to the junk coming from there, most of it are lies or made up dramas to entertain. The huge baby boomer generation has an advantage because they have information the younger generation doesn't have and will need. I think I will take some new computer classes.

Yes Sally and qop time to study the electronics. I like the IT part where one goes hunting for the source of the problem-I love that when my machine is not lighting up to start with "is it on?"and to proceed from there until the faltering connection/switch is discovered and corrected/replaced. I would never have the nerve to grow marijuana although Goddess knows I have been around that in my younger years-it has always been attractive to those rebels who like Ron Paul if they listen to politics at all. I would definitely be interested in helping my aged sisters and brothers understand how computers work and get them on the road so to speak.
Qop did you catch in the papers a couple of weeks ago the articles about "the terrible drug problem in Afghanistan". I came across two articles saying that "entire families are addicted" the habit being passed down from generation to generation-I thought of the Peruvian people and their love of the cocoa plant which helped so much when back breaking, mind numbing labor was called for in the family work but was never a problem until the "civilized" folk showed up and started refining it into medicine.
Well that was just an aside but it interested me-wondering if that will be used as a reason for bombing Afghanistan to pieces. Wish we could all be together with coffee/tea and just let the conversation roll as it would. Love to you all.

I'll end this rather long post with my favorite Pluto comparison. Years ago when I lived in Colorado we used to go tubing in the white water creeks. I am not good at surrendering now and I was even worse then, so when the fast-moving water started carrying me in the tube I reached out to try to hold onto the brush that lined the bank of the creek. I soon realized that every time I tried to hold on I would get smashed against the rocks, but if I just let go the current of the creek took me through the path of least resistance and I had a marvelous time. Pluto transits are exactly like this. There's no way to control them, we can only relax and enjoy the ride and trust that we are being carried in exactly the right direction for our ultimate soul path.

* Saturn in Libra

... All of which is expressive of today’s topic of Saturn in Libra, the sign it is shortly to enter. Saturn is to do with authority, and Libra is to do with both sides of a question and with fairness, it is a political sign. And what I was encountering was like a re-visit of the protesting spirit of the 60s, in all its mixedness. We are just entering the opening square of the Uranus-Pluto cycle that began in the 60s, and which embodied the spirit of those times. So we are likely to be seeing a revival of protest in the next few years, and there are plenty of urgent causes, but with this 1-sided mob mentality also as part of it. And this is where Saturn in Libra comes in, the need for fairness at all levels. Fairness by govts and authorities towards those who are protesting, listening to what they have to say. And fairness by the protesters towards govts and corpos, which is a side that is not often mentioned.

Saturn will change signs at the end of Oct, moving from Virgo to Libra. He will re-enter Virgo for a few mos next year, and then enter Libra more permanently in July. Saturn is a sign of authority and therefore of leadership, and it is possible to see a shift in the type of leadership around the world when Saturn changes signs. ... http://astrotabletalk.blogspot.com/

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I strongly disagrees with referring to saturn as "he"... why not "it" & be done with it. Or better yet... "she!" Or better yet the triple goddess, clotho lachesis atropos... the triple goddess of fate.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The male everlasting self-gender referral is sooo boring, esp since the truth is that he's a modified female or as some unkind souls, like me, would call him a "mutated female." ;O)

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

good posts Joanna, you always leave with more to think about.

I am asking everyone to think about what they believe the status quo in America has been the last 150 or so years, certainly since 1861 when the Civil War began. What exactly has the status quo been. I know people on the right who think it's been liberalism, from my perspective and study of history, I think it's been conservative. It's important to define what's it's been from an astrological point of energy

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

That answer is a piece of cake Sally. We have been a Patriarch and we are becoming a Matriarchal Society! To this point Women's Lib. has been pretty much a sham! ( possible exception Lilly Ledbeter Law) and of course we "old gals" missed the benefits from that.
You are 100% right joannaO in Women being more in leadership!
However as leaders we have to be MORE sensitive!
I am in contact with two men who have left this site because of the harsh condemanation at times, of masculine energy. They have much to contribute, They are just as entitled to their softer more feminine, nurturing, creative, qualities, as acceptable, and we need them! I have several male artist friends ( older age group) who have had a difficult time in life because of their softer qualities. Since WWII it has been acceptable for Woman to wear pants.........Not so for men expressing their softer side, they get pegged as gay when they are not. It's very painful for them.
And then We condemn men for their warrior traits.
SOme of the yung people are getting this, with their "unisex" and "house Father"but given the general unconscious collective at present we have a long way to go!

RAVEN!
I drove out to RT#1 where I plant a metal stand with a banner when the Gallery is open, to retrieve the banner after closing.
I got a sudden hankering for corn on the cob for dinner, so drove down to the market.
2 for a $1.00, grabbed 2 ears went to the register, which was gridlocked with a new guy running it. Someone said take it up to Raven & gestured to a young woman( also new) taking her place at another register. By this time I had discovered that my wallet had fallen out of my soft purse at home & I had only .53¢ in the bottom of the purse. Both Sat eve managers were there trying to ungridlock the other register and both would have loaned me the money...Raven, looked at the 2 ears I had put down, & the change in my hand & without a word reached into her pocket and put the rest of the change into my hand.
I asked her if SHE had chosen her name or been given it at birth. And she smiled and said "birth", My Mother is from Germany & an Edger Alan Poe freak, and my Father is full blooded Native American, Apache & CHerokee. SHe has come here from Texas!
I told her about my Native American Gr. Grandfather, Delaware or Leni Lenape tribe I believe who managed to stay in NJ and integrate!
Something is happening with the earth here in this location............I'm trying to tune it in.............
Animal WIsdom book: Raven, Listen to the voices of your mind. They may be messages for, or from a friend, or beings far away. Telepathy is as real as the spoken, like Raven summoning Wolf,

Work with the magic of your mind, weave it well, & renewed be born into the light!
I had a Raven with an injured leg here one Christmas day............I made popcorn for it and its friends and they hung around on & off for several years.............

Interesting that the food craving that took me to the market....was not Entenmans coffee cake or hot fudge sunday; but corn on the cob..the Native American staple!

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Highly stimulating conversation, Awers. I would like to add this to Sally's query. The status quo has been a continuing power struggle of those who are here without a privilege title. In this regard, the "gender" conflict takes on another tone. Whatever your race, or your gender, the unlying theme of human history has been "to the victor goes the spoils." Women (and entities of color, et al) have been complicit in seeking a life of privilege, or ease.

Controlling the population is much easier with a rigid set of arbitrary rules -- enforced often by violence or the threat of death.

What is highly interesting to me is the current protests against the Obama administration now occuring in D.C. I would guess that most all of those demonstrators believe they are privileged in some way. They do not want to see the (albeit unfair) advantage they given to anyone they consider inferior in some way. Thus, it appears to me that the conflicts occuring at this time are class driven.

The inherent possiblity of violence in the above demonstrations may hold one of the events that shake the world, or shake up this nation. Just the sheer numbers of people carrying firearms (and armed with righteous fervor) give evidence of this possibility.

What would the outcome of the above be? Have our thoughts and beliefs become so crystalized that we will not see or act on the benefic energy also present in these conflagrations?

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

We lost our electricity for about 24 hours maybe 21 hours due to a fire on the pole just outside our complex. I woke up so in touch with the quiet part of myself-was able to do my rosary prayers and run my energy and pray for those who came up into my consciousness. So beautiful I almost regret the return of the power.
Re the query: it seems to me in my reading of history and through my own life that America does everything possible to stop the flow of progressive evolution but the river cannot be stopped. In my lifetime every one who is progressive is literally in danger while the right wing haters and killers are literally protected by the government and by their supporters. Seems that the only time the "government" acts against the rightwing is when one of them kills someone in their church in front of everyone.I don't need to go into the assassinations, the plane crashes, the heart attacks and leukemia, etc.
I do believe that there is a flow toward freedom that will not be denied although I do worry about the planet herself as we apply all of our early Aquarian intelligence.

The SC Congressman's campaign website says he is "PASSIONATE ABOUT STOPPING GOVT RUN HEALTH CARE!" Rough week ahead according to Susan Miller - fasten the seatbelts, and batten down the hatches.

http://astrology.about.com/od/transitsandaspects/a/SusanMillerEconomy.htm

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Crystal, I would add to Susan Miller's assement to watch what happens in your life and the US because those events will unfold over the next several months. With Mercury retrograde over the black hole Adonis at 1 degree Libra, affecting a whole generation over a two year period from 1942 to `1944 when Neptune was at 1 degree Libra will be activated in a difficult way for them when Saturn moves into Libra. Life over the next six months, from now until then will be changing in a nano second. You know how you turn a corner, or meet someone new and your life changes forever, well that's what will potentially happen to all of us but especially the Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto generations that share that 1 degree Libra.

Oh Joanna, hypocrisy? Do you perceive that our leaders of the free world are hypocrits, I can hardly believe that. Why these hard working people we pay and give lifetime health care and pensions and personal assistants, plus their SS and Medicare couldn't possibly want anything more than to serve the people who pay them and grease the rails of their life forever even after their death. They aren't hypocrits, they are just out and out thieves.

They are however, right now riding a very dangerous train of corruption with Saturn in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces makes corruption very visible, and oh my goodness it goes over the GOP's Mars. The first setting of the Senate in Washington, DC was on Nov. 17, 1800, with Uranus at 0 Libra and the progressed planets in a perfect set up with the Saturn/Uranus opposition. The House of Representatives and the Senate have set themselves up to be forced to pay the Karma of the last two hundred of stealing from the People.

There is a world of difference between a govt PROGRAM & A POGROM!

The MAN who ran that Federal program at the State level, was a creative thinker who worked with me to fulfill the terms of that program, within Govt. guidelines but with, out of the box thinking, that enabled me to further my atypical career goals.
( An online web design course and purchased publications I needed professionally,) to move forward. He then wrote it up and sent it to the Federal Labor Dept in DC, to establish a precedent
for tailoring the program to an individual's needs.

Ever vocal, aries merc. " I said to her "Oh I wouldn't count on it. You know they are born with their own personalities." The Transmutation of the Fruits of Past Experiences into the Seed Realizations of the Forever Creative Spirit.

The Dawn of a New Day Reveals everything Changed.
ANd here is Lynda Hill's interpretation:
Uranus will soon slip back from the purging degree back onto Pisces 24: An Inhabited Island. This speaks about living together with others in close proximity, getting along with people, having to compromise, share space, it's pretty much the give and take of being alive in amongst others on this planet...

This Saturn/Uranus opposition will be happening again in January, April, May and July of 2010 by which time Saturn will be on Libra 1 and Uranus on Aries 1. This time will be another big opportunity to give up those things that hold us back - although getting cracking now is just the ticket for freeing up our lives so we can be more authentically who we're supposed to be or accomplish what we need to accomplish.

Sunrise-artThe trick with this pass of the Saturn/Uranus opposition is to take Mercury's retrograde message. Mercury is on Libra 3: The Dawning of a New Day Reveals Everything Changed. This speaks of new perspectives and realizations, waking up to a whole new consciousness or sense of reality, emerging from depression, huge changes that erase things that mattered before, radical shifts, major life experiences, being reborn, events out of nowhere, changes of fortune, revitalized perspectives, coming out of a sleep.

This is made even stronger by Mercury soon to reverse onto Libra 2: The Light of the Sixth Race Transmuted to the Seventh. This speaks of spiritual growth, ascension in consciousness, younger or more vital elements taking over, the fruits of the new ages, theosophy - Blavatsky's theories, UFO's and aliens, music that lifts one's spirits, gurus and avatars, transmutations, demarcations of evolution, indigo children, evolving, finding kindred spirits, sharing visions.

Well first there was a strange Mercury/Uranus upset when out power was shut down because of afire on the pole right outside that lasted for about 20+ hours. I see that I wrote 30 hours earlier but really it was only from morning to morning.
Then when power is restored I am treated to the "news" of the march on Washington by the haters, the racists. And yes, of course, there were not millions but there were truly thousands and I am disturbed. I didn't realize that there was such a level of organization and the images that were broadcast reminded me of my early fears of fascism connected with Pluto in Capricorn but I was really shocked by the images. I do trust in Life to get us to where we need to be but I also know that real people are going to be hurt by this reactionary movement.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I don't think it's conducive to anything to demean the "teabagger" marches or people peacefully assembling to protest government actions they are against. That's what a democracy is all about. At least this administration "allows" them, unlike when Bush was in town. And not all of the people showing up at these protests are bad people or are being manipulated by the right. The left complains about being demonized and then goes and does the same. The OTHER.

Quite frankly, there's plenty not to like now, NOW just has a nicer package. Where's all that CHANGE we voted for? After all, let's not forget that none of the Bush excesses have been rolled back. Methinks it's "meet the new Boss, the same as the old Boss". So what if Obama can string two words together. That's nice. An old friend once told me ... "it's not what he SAYS, look at what he DOES". Still true today.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Well my feelings are hurt!! As the Left you must be referring to I am not demonizing people who still believe the earth is only 6000 years old, who believe that abortion is murder and who torment women regularly as they attempt to enter clinics for help with pregnancies they cannot support. I was not demonizing people who believe that the Democrats are out to euthanize Grandma and by the way I am one of those grandmas. And I am very troubled that Obama and the Democrats seem to be following the exact steps of the previous administration. I simply know that those representing the Right such as those Dick Army has organized are full of some very frightening beliefs that I will not call thoughts.I must say that I have been with AW for years now and I have never before felt attacked but I sure did, Marta, with your entry. AW has been a place of refuge for me and I have felt free in my absolutely Leftist outlook trusting that others know that I have a loving heart and would never torture nor confine those who disagree with me.

Gina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Marta, et al., it's hard to bring about change when people are doing everything they can to neutralize you, and I think that's one of the manifestations of Neptune's influence.

The right is working very hard to neutralize any move whatsoever that Obama might take in a progressive direction, whether it's by going after effective progressives in his administration, or killing health care reform.

Moreover, Congressmen in both parties are so completely bought and sold that Obama may not even have the votes to enact regulatory reform in the banking industry, let alone a health care reform bill with a strong public option.

I'm actually optimistic that we'll get a health care reform bill passed, but it may be so weakened that it may not do much; in any case, you can bet that there will be confusion about how any new laws will work. For example, if they really make people prove their citizenship before they can get health care, will state Vital Statistics departments pay for a wallet-sized copy of someone's birth certificate? (I doubt it, even if I think they should.) And will insurance companies still be able to charge people through the roof for pre-existing conditions?

The news media seems to be trying to keep things the way they are. They're amplifying the voices of the teabaggers; the message that I'm hearing is "why should we try to change things if somebody's against it?" And yeah, I wish that the change that Obama promised would happen a lot faster, too. But, along with the 29 degree Scorpio moon he was sworn in under, it's these status quo/status quo ante voices that he's up against.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Clymela, nobody was attacking you. Peace.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, thanks for the input into the Susan Miller link. This is the week of reckoning for a lot of people - me included, and the you tube video of that woman who refuses to pay her BOA credit card debt is one manifestation of it. There are a lot more where that came from. I don't have Neptune at 0 Libra, as I was born a little later, but I do have my MC at 1 Libra, and Uranus at 0 Cancer, plus Uranus and Saturn hitting my mutable planets by square and opposition, so I know exactly what you're talking about - lots of problems to resolve - one after the other. I'm just rolling with the punches; nothing else that I can do.

On another note, everybody's talking about pollution here on earth, but from all that I've been reading, it seems that outer space is fast becoming polluted with all the space junk/debris floating around out there, some of it belonging to this nation. On the news tonight, a shiny object was detected orbiting in the night sky - turned out to be frozen reclaimed water (toilet refuse) from our space station up there. Ah well, no place is sacred.

* Two Poles of Saturn

I was chatting last night to a friend who’d just returned from being abroad, and she said she’d done nothing yesterday, and began justifying it in terms of all the travel she'd been doing etc. I thought no, that’s the wrong way round, and it’s so typical of how people feel in our society. As long as we are busy, we feel OK about ourselves. But if we’re doing nothing in particular for any length of time, we start to feel bad about ourselves.

This is what I call the western negative Saturn, and it sits there in square to the Sun in the chart of that most western of all countries, the USA.

I think that simply being is our basic state. If there is nothing to be done, then don’t do anything, just fiddle around and be you. It is the doing that needs justifying, not the being. If you are doing something, then make sure you have a good reason for it, and that it’s not the usual stuff about feeling like you ought to be busy, that without it you wouldn’t feel like you were a real person, that you should be 'achieving' something and making a ‘contribution to society' etc. ... http://astrotabletalk.blogspot.com/

* The Crazies and their Time Warp

Sooooooo, how’s the Merc retro treating you? I’m really taking a ride on this merry-go-round and the thing about snafu is that it takes 3X as much time to get your foot out of the muck as it did stepping in it! Hope you’re doing better this round than I am.

I trust by now you’ve read Obama’s healthcare speech, if you didn’t watch it—that you’ve sneered and mumbled over the poor taste and disrespect of one Joe Wilson, big time blurter and SC cracker, who got $750,000 in donations for his re-election in the 24 hrs following calling the Pres a liar … but was outdone by his Dem opponent who collected a cool million. Windfall for the candidate—and for the party, since we couldn’t have had a more dramatic “wingnut” cartoon if Tom Toles had penned it, for all the nation to behold.

Now why, you ask, would I call that poor deluded man a cracker? Well, let’s start with Joe’s earliest political years on staff for Strom Thurmond. In 2001, he was one of the 7 hold-out votes to con't flying the Confederate battle flag over the state house. When Essie Mae Washington-William’s revealed, after Thurmond’s death, that she was his illegitimate daughter—her mother having been a servant in Thurmond’s home—Joe said she should not have revealed her lineage because it was “a smear on Strom’s image and diminished his legacy.” Ummmm … yep, cracker.

And I wouldn’t make the [obvious] point if this whole thing didn’t just reek of racism; as much as the Pubs would still be doing the delusional with a white president, I doubt that anyone would have had the arrogance to try to shout him down. They did it because THEY THINK THEY CAN! The WH position is that Obama assumes this amount of chutzpah is because of the economic picture in America—if so, I think he’s whistling past the grave of too many Southern bodies. Maybe it’s the white-half of him that thinks that; you know, the half we NEVER HEAR ABOUT. Or maybe he’s just trying to keep the burning crosses off the WH lawn.

Perhaps I’m overly sensitive, as I’ve had a gut full of racial crap in the last few weeks. Political rhetoric is heating up in the Patch — they do not like this man, that’s how they put it; but when you nail them down, they don’t like this black man. A relative tipped me to the march on Wash by writing, “Tomorrow we take our country back!” The most recent Tea Party was attended by some 60-70,000 disgruntled Baggers waving really nasty signs—NOT the 1-1.5 million that FreedomWorks, the group that organized the event, announced at the rally; supposedly quoting ABC News, who immediately iced that. Puh-leeeeeeze … there’s a lot of wiggle room between those two poles. But, obviously, the Right will do or say anything that makes them feel like they’re winning. ... http://polwaves.planetwaves.net/

I couldn't get on the carepage...so sending light love and healing from here!

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I wrote a couple of times during the primaries and the election that prejudice is something we all carry, we've been taught from the beginning of our lives. Before 7 perhaps it was our parents, or the media, or our childlike observation of how others different from us were treated. History lessons and school books the media taught us more lessons of prejudice against someone, some group. Some of us were reprelled by chinese, or african americans, or hispanics and the list goes on. Some of us were reprelled by the KKK and the injustice of groups that brought hatred, some of us learned to mistrust the government, but the prejudice was there and we learned it and equally justified it and rationalized it. Yes there are a ton of people consciously or unconsciously sickened to see a black man in the White House, they don't believe a black man is worthy, they've spent their lives seeing them as incapable, as less than. There are another ton of people who see the "teabaggers" as the KKK without the robe and are equally sickened because we believe they belong in jail and because we think they are ignorant (I'm one of those) they should have no discourse at the table much less be allowed to trample all over Washington the this country with their ignorance and hatefulness. Both groups have a long way to grow to reach any kind of discourse and civility. We have over two hundred years to go and we have not even reached the "Civil War" understanding, as we lock ourselves up in our walls of prejudice. Saturn and Uranus will break up some of that like it did in the 60's.

Mary Travers died tonight of Peter Paul and Mary and we are in sore need of Puff the Magic Dragon or Blowing in the Wind. She was born in Louisville, KY on Nov. 9, 1936 (NT) I took 12:00 noon)She died today the 16th of Sept. when Neptune and Venus were in an exact opposition and she was able to just slip away.
It's amazing how many souls are slipping away this month. While we all struggle to accomplish something in this world, in the end it's what we learned, what we gave and what we allowed ourselves to receive.

Nola, most times the first hit of Saturn in November an incident will happen, in your case it will me somekind of event involving your home; someone moves in, some problems with your house, some kind of additional responsibility (it depends on what else in in the 4th house and what aspects your Saturn makes. The second hit in the Retrograde period in March 2010 you will begin formulating some type of plan to resolve the problem, and the last hit, Aug. 2010, the issue will be completely resolved. It will begin when Saturn is about one or two degrees away, in this case I expect 0 Libra. Most opposition of planets signal an ending, and conjunctions signal a beginnig, not in Saturn's case. conjunction signal endings and oppositions indicate beginnings. So you can expect an ending to something, but the ending and the beginning os something looks exactly the same.

I know all of you are sending me energ and light and love, Thank you all so very much, my gratitude can't even begin to express how I feel and how much I appreciate all you give.

This is a political statement by Joan Baez and Mary Travers many years ago.

"You gotta go down that lonesome valley, you gotta walk it by yourself, ain't nobody here can wall it for you, you gotta walk it by yourself." I wanted to leave it as a gift to you, listen through and you can see how political it really is, for the 60's and today.

One last note, please excuse my typo's and grammer. I wrote this between 12:30 and 1:30 am and to say that I am flagging at this time of night would be an understatement, it's more like I'me ready to pass out, especially since it was a chemo day. So please excuse me and I am off to bed.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

It is a gift to us that you are able to post...........Typos/ What typos!

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thank you so much Sally for the offering of Mary Travers and Joan Baez singing for us once again.
Also, thank you for your clarity regarding the Uranus/Pluto square shaping up. I will need to be reminded that the Teabaggers, etc. are human and deserving of respect AND an opportunity to be heard.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Peter, Paul and Mary - great memories of the 60s & 70s. Met them briefly in NYC once thru someone who was playing guitar with them temporarily. Great voices of conscience.

Sally, I don't know what's transpiring with you at the moment, but I'm sending you peace and love.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

My 3 favourite folk singers of the 70s (I wasn't here in the 60s) were the 3 Js - Joni (Mitchell), Joan (Baez), and Judy (Collins).

Gina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I saw Peter, Paul, and Mary in the 80s when they came to New Orleans. So sad to hear the news about Mary. From what I've read on folk music blogs, it was a long battle with this dirty rotten disease.

At this very moment, she's probably singing in this amazing jam session with Dave Van Ronk and John Lennon and Elvis and whoever you please.

Sally, hang in there. Love and light. I've never met you--let alone most of you on this blog--but I consider you a friend.

I plan to put off attending that big jam session for as long as possible, and I hope you will, too.

Sally,
I cannot tell you how delighted I am that you are writing again!

So much Neptune in these current charts transiting the US natal chart! Saturn/Neptune (transit to natal, conjunct and quincunx the transiting Neptune, opposing the transiting Uranus in Pices disposed of by Neptune, all square the natal Mars in the loquacious sign of Gemini). I think it's a perfect time to observe the vast possibilities of that planet. From messianic zeal to outright lying about universal health care (Pices), Neptune galvanizes and confuses our nation's populace.
Pluto sits in square to Adonis as you pointed out, Sally, but it also sits right on the US equatorial ascendent which is often considered to be the sensitive point of a person's or nation's health! On 9/11, Mars sat on the US equatorial ascendent, and Uranus was sitting where Chiron now sits (21-22 Aquarius), both then and now making a quincunx to the US natal Neptune. Oh, I almost forgot today's transiting Saturn's quincunx to the US Moon which is within reach of being befuddled by transiting Neptune!
Even the planets are confusing! A planetary conspiracy!

NOLASharon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thank you so much, Sally, for that very welcome interpretation regarding my Saturn return (which also applies to some of my friends but in . I'll watch for it. With the caveat that in Jan. Jupiter transits my sun, I feel more optimistic.

Sally, I posted this on CarePages but I don't know if it got to you...have you ever heard of LifeMel Honey? It's an Israeli product created for a therapeutic purpose where bees feed on very specific herbs. There are 2 types - one is specifically for people under chemo and the other is for building up the immune system. Have you heard of it?

I think something quite big and potentially crucial may currently be going on behind the scenes re our foreign policy, and specifically the U.S. posture toward Iran.

It was all over the mainstream press yesterday that Obama has suddenly and unexpectedly decided to stop the plans originally made by Bush to deploy both long range missiles and a small contingent of supporting U.S. troops at new military bases to be established in both Poland and the Czech Republic.

These bases would have technically been part of 'U.S. territory' just like our embassies in foreign countries. From the beginning, Putin et al was very, very angry about these plans, because it meant American missiles in Russia's 'backyard' very close to its borders.

Certain websites have been speculating that the real reason Obama has suddenly decided to relent and 'play nice' with Russia, is that he is very afraid that the radical far right Israeli govt. of Benjamin Netanyahu is rapidly beginning to spin out of control, and is now perhaps dangerously close to attacking Iran.

Supposedly Putin told Obama very recently that the only way Russia will do its part to keep the Likud crazies under control, would be for the U.S. to stop its missile defense shield plan in eastern Europe. Supposedly Tippi Livin, the former Israeli foreign minister who recently lost a very close hotly contested Prime Minister election to Netanyahu is very supportive of this U.S. rapprochement with Russia, as she too is very afraid of Netanyahu's intentions.

Another clue to the rapidly changing U.S. attitude is that yesterday there was a major new American intelligence report 'made public' that said that Iran was not getting closer to developing the technology to produce a nuclear weapon, in contradiction to recent Israeli and European Union reports on this issue.

Also, for the first time, the U.S. has evidently agreed to hold broad based substantive talks on nuclear issues with Iran starting in October.

I'm very cautious in light of so many of Obama's recent Bush like policy decisions, both foreign and domestic, but I really think something is afoot here which in the long run could be quite positive and even transformational for world affairs.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Gee, Grizz, I am so accustomed to reading everything, online, that has a negative slant, including what a let down Obama is, that I had to swig my way through 1/2 my 1st cup of coffee, before I realized this is a GOOD THING!
It gave me an insight into those less politically sophisticated than we here; those just awakening to the compromised political situation with out the full blow by blow news stories we have followed for at least 8 years!
"something quite big and potentially crucial"
meant "BAD" until I had cleaned my glasses, gulped my coffee, and read through twice!
"quite positive and even transformational for world affairs."
Hoorah!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I spent a lovely day yesterday, with my cousins from Philly, brilliant autumn sunshine, leaves turning, lunch at their friend's old farmhouse, rising from a bed of ferns, and then to Emily's Art opening at Unity College "Paper Holds Water", huge sumi drawings on paper of waves wavelets........
and then to dinner. Of the 9 of us. I was the "baby" of the group @ 70, and all of the talk was of art & architecture, nary a word of politics, although I know every last one of them is passionately progressive. There were remanicenses of teen age art students, dicovering the eccentric, center city Philly legendary characters, some of whom are still standing!
Oh that great Pluto in Cancer Gen! I'm working that social networking thing to the max, Sally, Jupiter return here we come!
Now to go catch up on the news!

Grizzly [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hi qop

Thanks for your kind response to my post. Please make no mistake, I have been very, very disillusioned (and have actually felt betrayed) by Obama in just about every aspect of his policy and staffing decisions, and of course what I'm writing about is strictly conjecture, but I do believe there is something to this!

I was born Jewish, yet I must say that in my opinion, Israel with its current government,
represents the biggest single threat to world peace and stability on our planet today.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I know you have Grizzly, Me too, I am the one that stood up in the 2004 State Dem Convention and made the impassioned plea for including Peace between Israel & Palestine, as a top agenda on our State plank. ( they did).
Although not Jewish, the Jewish community
supported my small business handsomely and I was very pro Israel until they took that right turn
(as our Govt. did here!)

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Well well, look at this!

But Justice Sotomayor suggested the majority might have it all wrong -- and that instead the court should reconsider the 19th century rulings that first afforded corporations the same rights flesh-and-blood people have.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Grizzly thank you for sharing your insights that came from integrating different bits of news. Gave me new hope to balance the sense of betrayal over the health care fight, etc.
The Sabian symbols for the latest New Moon,Saturn oppose Uranus. 25 Virgo/Pisces-stunning for me.
so happy to see more "old timers" back. Welcome- you bring so much with your words and thoughts that I felt like I was at a party too.

The astrological weather forecast calls for atmospheric turbulence, sporadic -- sometimes violent -- storms. This forecast remains in effect indefinitely.

Great to read your thoughts Grizz, and Beasley. It's getting crazier by the day, isn't it? It's a craziness i can't quite comprehend. What is the purpose behind the mutilation of the planet? Denial of care? Contamination of food? etc., etc.,etc. I still cannot figure it out. If it were purely about greed and power, than those high rollers of finance, those corporate malfeasers would be implementing 10-year plans, not 10-month plans. This little bit of news http://caps.fool.com/Blogs/ViewPost.aspx?bpid=259181&t=01001329399083857736 emphasizes this phenomenon of short-term planning. Further, it almost seems forced when i hear the media touting a "recovery." If anything, we're heading deeper into a depression.

Sally, i continue to concentrate on thoughts that help you boost your own inner strength. This is one intimate fight that only those who've experienced can fully understand. Yet, I also believe that we can help just by sending our healing thoughts, and, of course, our love and hugs.

* Biden in Baghdad to uphold occupation, speed access to oil

US VP Joe Biden traveled to Iraq this week for a series of discussions with Iraqi officials aimed at forestalling a precipitous end to the US military occupation of the country and opening up Iraq’s oil wealth to exploitation by US-based energy conglomerates. ... http://www.wsws.org/articles/2009/sep2009/iraq-s18.shtml

A thot occured to me that world events could be likened perhaps to the Beatles tune, "Day in the Life," where the music shifts into this cacaphony that rises & rises, to where one thinks one can't stand it anymore, then suddenly disappears. Mebbe that's what will happen.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OHH! I neglected to say "Praise the Goddess, the Father and the spirit for Sotomeyer and we should all be doing protective prayers for her. I know that Thomas,Scalia,Roberts must be choking on her argument. I love her. Hope there are more soldiers in the wings who have been able to pass under the radar-so to speak.
I must tell you that I have had a final procedure on my right hand and I am "under the influence". I will make every effort to keep my cool and not go on any drug fueled tangents.

Clymela, use the castor oil pack or rub as soon as you can. Great for total healing and reducing pain.

Interesting articles in NY Times today by David Brooks and Krugman. Worth the read.

* Pluto Changes Direction

... Pluto officially began to move forward 5 days ago, after about 5 mos going backwards, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at the numbers: he has been at 0.40 Capricorn since 4th Sept, and won’t reach 0.41 Cap until the 20th Sept. That said, his change of direction has been reflected in changes of direction in world events over the last few days. ... http://astrotabletalk.blogspot.com/

New Rule: You can't complain about health care reform if you're not willing to reform your own health. Unlike most liberals, I'm glad all those teabaggers marched on Wash last week. Because judging from the photos, it's the first exercise they've gotten in years. Not counting, of course, all the Rascal scooters there, most of which aren't even for the disabled. They're just Americans who turned 60 and said, "Screw it, I'm done walking." These people are furious at the high cost of health care, so they blame illegals, who don't even get health care. News flash, Glenn Beck fans: the reason health care is so expensive is because you're all so unhealthy.

Yes, it was fun this week to watch the tea-baggers complain how the media underestimated the size of their march, "How can you say there were only 60,000 of us? We filled the entire mall!" Yes, because you're fat. One whale fills the tank at Sea World, that doesn't make it a crowd. ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bill-maher/new-rule-you-cant-complai_b_291852.html

A stunningly fine Mark Morford...

* America: Arms dealer to the stars!
Who's the number one weapons broker in the world, again? Take a guess

And then along comes one of those stories that makes you cringe down to your very core, that makes you see our semi-fine nation and the world around it thru a bleak and unforgiving lens indeed. No matter how hard you try and how you spin the story and flip it around and try to forcibly shape it into something less slightly nauseating, all you can do is realize that sometimes ugliness and violence win the day, the year, the planet.

So it is that a new report has just emerged, announcing with a sort of drab and bitter capitalistic glee that [americo] is once again the #1 weapons dealer in the world. It's true: We sell more guns, more major weaponry, tanks and rocket launchers, fighters and Gatling guns and all sorts of brutal devices specifically designed to destroy human life and induce fear and dread and all manner of sadistic horror, than any other developed nation on the planet. By a long shot. ... http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2009/09/09/notes090909.DTL
