SOMETHING HAPPENED

Yesterday on the 17th of September with astrologers and psychics galor warning of "something happening" on this dire day of Saturn and the Sun opposing Uranus, "something did happen" and you might want to pay attention to how it unfolds.

First up, Dr. Charles Krauthammer when on Fox News to frantically tell folks how Obama is a liberal in the worst sense of the word. He wants to re-distribute the wealth to spread around instead of keeping it in the hands of those who made money, he wants fair play in this country and to "gasp" help the poor and take us back to a liberal nation.

Strike two: Obama tells Wall Street on the afternoon of the 16th, the party is over, if he means it that signals he has fulfilled his obligation the the previous administration which is where TARP was born and nurtured; Obama seems to be signaling that obligation has been filled. Credit card companies have been put on notice, this week the attorney general of NY has started investigations into the "too large to fail banks." And our new Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor has begun questioning the May 10, 1886 law in California making corporations equal and above people opening the door to the suppression of the people and the elevation of the corporation and their dominion over the government through their money and raised power. It was the beginning of the control of the military/industrial complex that every president, Democratic and Republican has warned against ever since - until we got to Ronald Reagan and the last 29 years. And now a Supreme Court Justice has said it's was a mistake and the wrong law. A shot across the bow, maybe a first shot but a shot.

I don't know if this hand is being played too fast by this administration with the message to Wall Street, the message to Credit Card Companies, the message to health Insurance companies and now the message to big corporations. But the messages have been being delivered through the Saturn/Uranus opposition and as I've said "that aspect" has been effect since the Primaries and the messages have been there all along. Saturn/Uranus is a shift in the status quo. I asked what was the status quo in this country, this world? Most thought it was between men and women and that's a part of it, however I believe the status quo in this country and around the world is capitalism, more to the point "corporatism" and it's delivery methods in different parts of the world.

This isn't any different than the British East India Trade Company begun Dec. 31st, 1600 in London (other countries defined their own Corporate Trade Companies soon after, funny how "TRADE" becomes a buzz word when corporations are on the edge or getting out of hand, or have gotten out of hand, suddenly we are "TRADING" with everyone and it all benefits the corporations, not the workers throughout the world. Just an observation.

There will be a huge uproar over Justice Sotomayor remarks eventually, she or someone else will be making them and Wall Street and the conservative Supreme Court as well as conservatives everywhere, but the question won't go away. That particular case between California and the Southern Pacific has some interesting transits for the first time since 1886, one is transiting Neptune squaring its own Neptune, transiting Pluto inconjunct its own Pluto, transiting Saturn and Uranus respectively conjunct the natal Jupiter and oppose, and transiting Pluto will soon square the Natal Uranus and rapidly joined by Saturn in conjunction. Oh, one more thing, very important, transiting Mercury went retrograde on the Natal Uranus and opposed Natal Venus and squared their Natal Saturn, lots of stress in that Southern Pacific law suit chart. Oh for sure their natal Venus/Saturn/Uranus T-square will put up a whale of a fight for the worst of the corporate interests and it's doubtful they will ever see they created their own demise, but they had their chance for change and to work with people and not against in 1974, exactly one hundred years after their law suit, they didn't take it, because of that they are very close to losing all the marbles and this is another opportunity for them to get rid of their "God Complex"

This will take years to unfold and corporations will during that time try to crack down, leave the US in a "too many taxes" snit, like Nestle's are threatening the Swiss. However in their belief that they MUST hang on to what they believe is their power and world domination, they will little by little give their power away, just like "we the people" gave ours away to them over the last one hundred and twenty seven years.

Eventually we will figure out that we are all a big huge messy family that is related to everyone else no matter who, no matter whether we like or understand each other. We are rolling around together on this little planet called earth and interconnected to one another; to the selfish titans of the universe, to the birthers and the teabaggers, to men and women, to all other animals, to the fishes and the plants; to the stars and planets as far as the eye can see and beyond. We are all related and when we hurt one we hurt the other, no matter your color, race, gender, religion, country or creed, we belong together and I believe we will work it out in some lifetime. There are tools and skills we have never tapped to make sure that happens, but we do still keep trying and that's a good thing.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I am posting a letter that I wrote to the foundation I worked for to tell them where I am and to thank them for all they've done for me. I am posting it here for the same reasons, just so you'll know how I am getting along, what I feel and what I'm learning.

TO THE WOMEN AND MEN OF GREAT HEART

I think about this everyday and for several days now I have started and stopped to write this, I just didn’t seem to be able to find the right words. I don’t like to talk about myself or where I am with chemo but I know people want to know, so let me address that in the beginning. I have good days and bad days but I think over all I am doing pretty well. I lost my white blood cells last week and the immune system went with it, but they have been able to stimulate the white blood cell count and bring it up. The worst thing for me is not being able to be around people too much including my children and grandchildren. I have a friend who calls grandchildren “little Petri dishes” because they carry so many germs just waiting to spread them around.

I feel as if I have stepped into a different world, the medical world is a whole new life for me and it’s so totally focused on what needs to be done, at least the “cancer” part of it is. That’s good but it’s also wearing because it’s constant. The Home Health Care team have finally discharged me, they were wonderful but constant people in and out on top of a constant stream of out of town family and friends visiting this summer, I think they think I am dying but I don’t think I am. I will say, as strange as this sounds, I believe the shock of this summer is now catching up with me and I kind of feel like “what was that all about?” People do say that I look good and healthy, so that’s a relief to me.

Now that’s enough about me, I want to talk about you the best I can and this is the part with which I have been struggling. I hope that all of you have an opportunity to feel the amount of love I have for you and everyone around you has for you. All you have done for me, the cards, the food, the prayers, the visits, the calls, the financial support (hard one for me) has been beyond loving and generous and has sent me into a swirl of gratitude, thankfulness, and deep deep appreciation wondering how on earth I would or even could ever pay everyone back. I well up in tears when I think of all of you and what you’ve done for me.

I have spent my life focused and studying the human race, I have loved and appreciated everyone who crossed my path, even those who didn’t. Nothing has ever been more important to me than people and all they have to offer, it never occurred to me that anyone would or should love and care for me back and here you all are giving your gifts and love to someone who is crossing your lives and it touches my heart and soul in a way I cannot even adequately express.

Maybe it isn’t important to anyone here but it’s important to me – you’ve made a difference in my life, you’ve changed my life in very profound ways. To be painfully honest, I could not have made it without you, and I have always had high end control issues and here I am dependant on a community of friends and supporters. When people brought food I wanted to say “oh that’s ok, I can fix myself lunch (or dinner) but I knew I could not. When the funds started coming in I wanted to say “my family and I will be fine” but I knew I wouldn’t, that I could not afford my chemo meds, or where I lived or pay my bills because my life as I knew it had ended, all I had depended upon to generate myself had ended for the time being and then all of you picked up my “slack.” How do you thank people for that at any level of adequacy? How do you get over your false pride (my father always said “beware of false pride.”) your ego, your need to control you life and what one thinks of as their destiny, how does one do that when they’ve been stripped. In my case, here you came with your love and generosity to hold another human being up.

We are born and start running from the beginning, learning, going to school, working and trying every day to do the best we can for ourselves and those around us. We seek approval for our work whether we are head of a company or raising children or being a friend, but at the end of the day it’s the lessons of the spirit and soul that are the most important; thank you all for the lesson of receiving, it’s been a lesson my spirit has lacked and is demanding I learn now, bless you for keeping me on that learning path and keeping me going.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Dear Sally......
".wondering how on earth I would or even could ever pay everyone back."
You have already paid it forward many times!
That was beautifully written!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

My, Sally, you are on a roll today! I agree with qop; Both your article and your letter were very beautifully written.

Your spirit always shines through your writing, but it seems stronger than ever as of late. I think there's something to that, as well as the greater shift taking place with this third Saturn-Uranus opposition.
Something is indeed shifting, both on a very personal and a more broad scale global/universal level.

Keep doing what you are doing, Sally. Your spirit and heart are matched by those of the many lives you have touched, and continue to touch.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Dear Sally, both your article and letter touched me to the bottom of my soul. You have truly blessed my life in so many ways for so many years. So, it's my turn to say, Thank You! Sending you many hugs and best, best, wishes! Always.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Neo,
Interesting observation......greater shift happening.I feel it too....both Taurus.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

One more comment.
Yesterday was the first time I had seen my cousin since her younger sister died, at the funeral service in 2007. Mimi was a buddist, and the giddy laughing youngest child all her life. ( She & I were the misbehaving 3 year olds at the serious grownups parties, even into our 60's))
Huge crowds attended the service . Only then was it revealed, as one person then another came forward, and told what Mimi had done for them all in one HUGE testimonial. ( Even I didn't know.....)
We resolved yesterday to take her as our role model!

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

It's lovely to love and be loved by people, that enveloping warmth is so very healing and wonderful to have, no matter if it's a community or one person we are so lucky to love and be loved. I feel very lucky indeed.

Neo, you are so right there is something huge coming and it will happen in a twinkling of an eye, leaving the world spinning. There is always something new and can be better past the rain and over the rainbow. Uranus in Aries should prove very interesting squaring and not squaring Pluto, and I know you haven't forgotten the march toward the Myan calendar, that should be an interesting year.

I am concerned about Obama for many reasons, health being on the top of the list.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Now all together......."Who's afraid of the big black hole, the big black hole......the.."
to the tune of Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf!

As I have been sending love and healing this summer I have felt my feelings, bump up against others healing, join, and merge, becoming one big circle....................This is powerful!

In spite of the rather depressing title, this article is very useful; especially reading the comments from readers.

sally-thank you so much for this piece and for the letter to the foundation.
Just yesterday I was reading and rereading the Sabian symbols for the the New Moon and the opposition by/to Uranus. And I was realizing that Obama is out there moving on a much huger map than I could imagine-I have been thinking that that is why he emphasizes the importance for all of us to "be ready". I am not seeing him as saviour but rather as a leader who sees things from a vantage point that I don't have.
At any rate I am trying to confirm what you share by your skills and intuition. I love you so and this article is exactly why I come here first everyday and come back several times during the day to check in on the "AW family".

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, do you own a Ferrari? Hahahah. It's just a rhetorical question. Sally's article was so profound, that I thought I would post something silly as a counter-balance, but actually this is about a British singer/musician/songwriter who had a Pluto experience back in '94 - underwent 5 operations in 7 weeks in France (great healthcare in this country) plus 2 more afterwards in England, was almost a goner, but lived to tell about it, and instead of folding, decided to embark on a new creative project - his life's dream of making a fantasy film about his fascination for Ferraris as a little boy, and it came to pass through a chance encounter with the singer Shirley Bassey. So the line from the song is really "Shirley do you own a Ferrari"? I kept singing this line all while Sally was in the hospital, as a way to keep her in my thoughts in a joyful way, substituting "Shirley" with "Sally". And by the way, when I lit the candle on that night for Sally, the flame glowed violet, and I thought it a good omen whether it was for the here or hereafter. Anyway, I decided to post this man's narrative about the making of his movie because I found it so artistically inspiring and compelling as testimony to the courage and triumph of the human spirit. He was just an ordinary singer to me, a few of whose songs I liked, but I gained a new respect for him after listening to this narrative. If you have the time, take a listen, although it may be boring for some of you. I don't have any particular fascination for Ferraris or cars in particular, but this appealed to my artistic senses and the celebration of life. The name of the movie was La Passione, and the guy's name is Chris Rea. The video narrative is in 3 parts.

http://shamanicastrology.com/articles-timely/pluto-stations-at-the-galactic-cross-once-in-248-years
clip......................

Every 26,000 years for about 144 years the December Solstice aligns along the Galactic Cross (where the plane of our Galaxy intersects the plane of our Solar System) near Galactic Center. The center point of this alignment was in 1998 with about 72 years on either side representing the window of the Turning of the APlutoges. When the current galactic cycle began 26,000 years ago it is possible that Pluto did not pass through Capricorn at that time and did not station at zero degrees Capricorn on the Galactic Cross.
We too have the opportunity to converge at this powerful nexus of planetary and galactic energies and ceremonially engage our heart-felt wonder celebrating the power of our shared connection in co-creation of the New Earth. This is the function of the New Earth Priest aPriestess, the guardians and keepers of the emerging mysteries, at the Turning of the Ages.

The opening lines of the Emerald Tablets of Hermes state, “That which is Below emerald tablets http://www.timstouse.com/images/EmeraldTablets/emeral1.jpg corresponds to that which is Above, and that which is Above corresponds to that which is Below, in the accomplishment of the miracle of One Thing.” This law of correspondence reminds us of our responsibility to know what is happening in the Great Above so we can more consciously co-create through our ceremonial intent the miracle of One Thing, the miracle of our connection to the ONE source of all, the miracle of love.

And THIS!
The Shift

The Revolution
in Human Consciousness

by Owen Waters
E-Book Version
excerpt..................
The duality of good versus evil, for example, is made possible by a belief in the existence of an opposite pole to goodness and wholeness. This belief, or expectation, creates the possibility that evil can exist and manifest in a world of duality. Evil cannot be conquered via conflict, as the act of conflict only adds power to the illusion which generates its existence. It can only be resolved by adopting a consciousness of unity rather than separation. Then, lasting solutions to the illusion of duality become possible.

Spiritual consciousness is associated with the second tier of six memes. With it comes the developing awareness of the oneness of all life.

Spiritual consciousness starts with an appreciation that all people are facets of the one underlying consciousness of the universe. Along with this comes an understanding that we each have our own unique viewpoint of the universe. It is through our individual diversity that the whole consciousness of humanity gains an infinite range of experience of all facets of life.

As a person becomes more at one with all of existence, they do not lose any sense of individuality. In all of Creation, diversity is the rule. Just as each snowflake is unique, so is each person.

Oh Holy Cow and Shooting Stars!! I didn't know that I am cavorting with Jungians here. Jung saved my life in my early 20's. I was such an outsider and was totally wrapped up in my introverted outpost until one day, long ago, I came across Joseph Campbell's "The Portable Jung". I read it cover to cover immediately after purchasing the book and that began my journey through Jung's work and also back into the world.
Happy New Year everyone and QOP I am expecting, for everyone, a change of consciousness that comes in a twinkling after slogging through and this change will support us through all the external changes and will help us to help the "younger" ones

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OH and just a "Jungian" aside: the publishing of the Red Book will put to shame the so called biography of Jung which reported faithfully the on the externals of his life therefore missing the point.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yaahoo Clymela! Been a Jungian since the 70's.......reading Liz Greene's Relating too......
Sort of parked it in the survival struggle until now. Yes this is the change we are looking for....how to EVANGELIZE IT?

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yup... I'm with you, seestas &O bros! I merely played around with astrology until studying the works of Jung. Tho I've always loved symbolism... er, Living symbolism. Making connections in the psyche. One can only imagine how many others are now making Connections.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Actually, we've been over the Jungian ground in the past tho it's been a while... a few years. Nice to take stock.

By "We" do you mean astroworld joannao? Or the country in general?
Tomorrow September 21, Officially designated by the UN"One Day of PEace"
This year's celebration of International Peace Day on September 21st finds me focusing on communications between real or potential enemies in ways that foster amity not enmity. From global to local, structuring relationships to enhance understanding make it harder to hate and hurt the "thems" in our lives and more likely for peaceful interactions to prevail, especially for young people.

* Pluto goes Direct (part 2)

Pluto has actually moved forward in the last day by a minute of a degree, after being stationary for 15 days. If Pluto is affecting your chart by transit, now is the time when things can move forward. We have just had 5 mos of Pluto moving backwards, and retrograde motion is a time of sorting out underlying issues – or, in the case of the outer planets, keeping out of the way and staying conscious while they sort themselves.

But that sorting period also reshapes us, so whatever the issue is, we can now move forward renewed and re-empowered. But not quite yet, because Mercury is currently retrograde, and will be so for another 10 days. ...

* A Moon To Dream On

We’ve got a big lovely Virgo dark-of-the-moon moment going on — a new beginning with just the right stuff to take us where we need to go. Get your intentions together for a sprinkle of cosmic faerie dust. We really need a new beginning, eh? The current conversation is like a spinning vortex we can’t pull ourselves out of.

Here in the Patch I get a glimpse … and more … of the raw emotions that are driving this push against progress. I won’t belabor the point, but the pundit non-sense about who is ‘playing the race card’ — and how it’s just a tactic used dangerously and with no thought to its ramifications — is juvenile. If we tell the truth, the Party of No … defined now by white, rural elders … is driven by an old way of thinking and a primitive tribalism that won’t give way to intellect. Perhaps it’s covered by tight-lipped refusal to ‘name it’ … but it’s here, so it must be wherever you are, as well.

This isn’t a covert activity so much as a way of thinking that is ingrained and passed down generation to generation; we see it now, as Digby so aptly puts it, as “the assertion of white male privilege through whining victimization.” The ‘code words’ are evident — a Pub legislator said, in advance of Obama’s healthcare speech, that he’d ” … better be humble.” WTF? Did anybody say that to the Dubby? I addressed some of this issue in the weekly, here. This is old consciousness, we’re fighting — fear-filled and pervasive. ... http://polwaves.planetwaves.net/

* Quietly, Sotomayor turns on corporations

Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama’s newly installed Supreme Court Justice, has a few words for corpos seeking protection under law.

You’re not people.

During arguments in a recent campaign-finance case — that may upend campaign finance law to allow more spending by corpos — Sotomayor suggested that the core underpinning of protecting corpos’ rights was flawed.

Judges “created corpos as persons, gave birth to corpos as persons,” she said, the Wall St Jrl noted Fri. “There could be an argument made that that was the court’s error to start with…[imbuing] a creature of state law with human characteristics.”

Corpos were first afforded the rights of persons under US law in the 1800s, allowing them wide protections under fed code. Development of the law mushroomed as corpos — which were originally chartered by and in single states — began to grow larger and cross state lines. Eventually, courts ruled that states didn’t have the right to revoke contracts made by the corpos themselves. They also ruled that states didn’t have the unhindered right to revoke corpo charters. ... http://rawstory.com/08/news/2009/09/18/quietly-sotomayor-turns-on-corporations/

* America, I Love You. Americans, On the Other Hand...

I have found the last week to be one of the most politically dispiriting of my adulthood. After President Obama's address to the nation on health care, I posted an opinion piece on Huffington Post which garnered well over 600 comments, as well as dozens of emails sent directly my way. The piece was in support of strong health care reform legislation, including a "public option," and used my own history of overcoming acute myeloid leukemia, as well as my wife's Italian family's health care experiences in that country, as reference points. Most responses were of the "Thank you for saying what I've felt" variety, and it's always gratifying to be told I've said something important, or made someone else feel heard.

The strong minority current won't surprise anyone who's followed the health care debate, or most any political discussion, over the past couple of years. A vocal minority has let me know, over and over again, that they don't want the government taking any more of their money; that they want to be able to decide how to spend and invest their own money; that they don't want to have to pay for anything for anyone else; and -- the big time, firecracker, most-consistent comment of all -- they don't want any Americans to have government-subsidized health care insurance if one single, goddamn, fucking, disgusting illegal immigrant might be able to get their hands on it, too.

Okay. I get it. And here's my response to both groups. ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/evan-handler/america-i-love-you-americ_b_286226.html

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The list of things that happened last week on this Mercury Retrograde were a cymbol crashing in the Universe but I don't think people actually heard the bell) What we all the people throughout the universe will experience as corporatism and captitalism fall over the next several years, I just don't know but I do know we were signaled that it is over. The Sotomayor comments were the loudest clang and well past time. Her comments alone should have sent several on Wall Street running for the restroom.

As we tumble into these final days of Mercury Retro and the beginning of the Fall Soltice there might be either a quieting down (after Monday) or the conservative types will rachet up the bad mouthing of Obama, they are working hard to make him a laughing stock. I believe Lindsey Graham said "he's been on everything but the food channel" Lindsey is such a stitch, as well as other things, like a hypocrite.

How did we get and keep the idea that political fools were the best to run this country?

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I hope, Miss Sally, that the corpo restroom is the outhouse pit. ;O)

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally,Joannaoregon, I wrote to myself I think that I am praying for Sotomeyer that the light of the Mother be with her around her and in her. Alioto and Roberts, Thomas and Scalia must be ready to slap her for her outrageous statement.I was stunned that she said that and so delighted but frightened for her-talk about talking truth to power.
I am trying to maintain my poise around the healthcare coverage but I don't like the way Obama talks about coverage. I could not afford Kaiser as a regular person-I can only "afford" it because my former employer pays the lion share of the premium=I pay $300 of the $1400+ premium. If the costs go higher I may lose the retiree medical benefit. Well I see what people are fearing and we need better information and less provocation.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ha, me too Joanna.

Clymela, try not to be fearful and I know it's hard. I heard Clinton say the other day to read the SS Bill passed by FDR Administration, it was terrible, but they got it passed and worked on it the next 10 years to make it much better. I agree we need better and honest information but we are not going to get it, not from either side, too many hidden agandas. My hope is more clarity when Mercury goes direct in Virgo, although as it goes back over Black Hole Adonis the whole thing may be lost. I am more of a progressive futurist I guess, I believe we will get health care and I don't believe it will be perfect but we have to start somewhere for future generations. I am the recipient of the people who took a chance on Social Security, who took a chance on Medicare and my hope is future generations can benefit from the courage of today's people.

I heard a guy on NPR who has studied and written a book on all the healthcare systems in the world and ours is the worst. Anyway he said in 1994 th Swiss had the exact same health care we did and they scraped it because they though it was terrible. They went to a single payer, covered everyone in the country, got rid of private insurance, have had no problems with their new system ever since. They had decided their country was to rich to let people die because of insurance companies and lack of decent coverage. This guy said it had been a huge success for the Swiss.

I can't find the name of it on NPR and their site is hard to navigate, but the gentleman spoke yesterday between 1 and 2:30 in Denver. If I hear it again I will be sure to post it, maybe I will call NPR today and get the name of him.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Clymela, this is an article from a Doctor that I don't think will calm your concerns but she addresses the Baucus Bill as a mess and says Obama supports it. We have to keep looking at both sides of this issue or is their a "both sides" or just "one side." Bernie Sanders of Vermont says the insurance companies are throwing about a million and a half a week at congressmen to get their votes for supporting the insurance companies. Who knows who we can trust at this point. The Soltice chart has Neptune on the first house cusp and that says obfuscation and potential lies to me. Maybe Mercury turning direct in Virgo will bring some truth to this whole thing.

It occurred to me that another good phrase might be "Speak Power to Truth" to go along with "Speak Truth to Power." It just seems to have a bit more oomph to me.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, thank you for your direct response to my fears and confusion. Really I am strengthened to carry on and to work by "running my colors" and filling up on Clear Light that will help me live and support the future.
Steve and I have begun leaving the TV off except to watch specific programs-when Steve was young and on his own living in parts of LA that no mother would approve of he used the TV as white noise so that he could sleep. Well I was so in love with him and so grateful that he was able to bring his genius through a truly horrifying adolescence that I "gave in" to that when we set up household together. Finally "we" have reached the point that we no longer need to use the white noise. This is helping both of us to a greater psychic health. We have been together for 13 years now.
Well that is a lot of intimate family info but I wanted to share it-probably most everyone is hip to how leaving the TV/radio on is NOT healthy.
Sally love to you and blessings that you share your wisdom so freely even when you are weak. God I so love you.
Came across a copy of Caddie Wooklawn when I was waiting for the hand surgery. That was a favorite book in childhood, that and Heidi and Little Women-the "real books" not modified ones. I drew courage from the Caddie Woodlawn book especially from her father who was an abolitionist when it was not safe. We never know how our prayers will take flesh do we?

The changes continue unabated, and are coming to the notice of many of you who are aware of what is taking place. There is even a realisation that people are rising up in their consciousness, and more than ever they are moving beyond the old paradigm. It means that they are seeing through the degree of control exercised over them, and how they have been cajoled into supporting the ambitions of the Illuminati. Suddenly, the idea of perpetuating the war machine that has brought so much death and misery to your planet is being rejected. Peace and the means to achieve it are being openly talked about, and it is opening the eyes of others who have hitherto not considered such an idea. Believe us Dear Ones you are rising to the occasion and are spelling out the death knell for the dark Ones, whose power is rapidly slipping away. ... http://www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/First_Contact/mike_quinsey/channeled%20messages/September%202009/salusa__21september2009.htm

It occurred to me that "They" no longer dare to use "The Draft" anymore... at least for the present. That's a very very good thing. People just aren't buying "reasons" for war (ie formalized mass slaughter).

Profound dear joannaO...........
this is what is happening; no question, and we need not be afraid!

Hey, qop & everybody... just watched last night a truly amazing, strange & wonderful video I found at Hollywood chain store entitled "Ballroom Dancing & Charm School" with Mary Steenburgen, John Goodman, et al. Talk about a paradigm shifting piece of art on relationships, this is it.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'll have to see if I can it around here........
wonder if there is a DVD version?

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yes, qop... I watched the DVD version. Mebbe "video" outlets shld change their moniker to "DVD" stores. I don't know that the Hollywood chain even has videos to rent out anymore.

You're right, qop... I had said that I watched a video but it was a DVD.

Loved the channled message Joanna. The "vails" begin lifting for people in the late 80's and that energy has gotten stronger and stronger ever since. The feelings of people regarding "did I just see what I thought I saw, did I just hear what I thought I heard" it amazing what is coming through to our consciousness right now. With meditation and elimination of anger and fear what we have always called otherworldly comes through loud and clear. The turning of Mercury in Virgo and moving on past Adonis I believe will have amazing results and I think rapid results for many of the people. One can almost feel the light on some days until fear and it's friends anxiety and anger, rise up momentarily.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

A big pin is falling. Landmark National Bank vs Kestler, be sure to read the case. The Kansas Supreme Court has lowered the boom on potentially 60 million homes forclosed by illegal means that will have eventual ramifications all over the country. The Wall Street bankers were too smart by half and the other half of their corrupt shoe has fallen on them. Kansas of all places has told these yahoos that not only do they not own these mortages, they cannot collect on them and they owe the homeowners their homes back and restitution. Oh me or my there are alot of banks sweating bullets, not gold.

Sally, re: your post about otherworldly vs fear anger.....
Last Thurs, the spirit of my deceased cousin, traveled with me on my visit to her sister and friends, visiting from Philly. The experience subtly altered the dymnamics of relating with these 5 people I have known for 40 years and longer. The changes will be beneficial in the future............+ the Artist/hostess, a newcomer to their group, is here all summer.painting.

After a supreme/peak experience on the beach yesterday afternoon...........Oh it was lovely and I didn't want to leave.................
I came home and HAD to sit down & do bills!
BOOM! fear & anger 1st time in months ........
Days are getting shorter, a chill in the air, and I haven't caught up with the electric bills displaced by the need to pay for snow removal last winter.......God forgive me for being extravegant & frivolous for spending $18. on art supplies this month!
Even tho back on Sept 17, we passed ☿ @ ♎ 1o: Sab. Symb. A Collection of Perfect Specimens of Many Biological Forms, A Butterfly Displays the Beauty of its Wings, It's body Impaled By a Fine Dart. ( roofing nail?) That expressed the moment yesterday!
So I made angry calls to the Senators, starting with Enzi, the toad guarding pensions!
That's insane, been there done that, it hasn't brought change......................is there another way?How can I get through to them;....... can I? These very conservative Ladies, ( Snowe/Collins) practice welfare at home to mollify their constituents and then vote deregulation, free market etc. in DC. What mirror can I hold up, what dialogue can I try?
I guess I will start the day at the beach in meditation.........................

Sally-what you report from Kansas is the real conservative values shining through-the old Golden Rule. Yeah for "us" who knew!!
qop- I will be sitting in prayer for both you and Sally. both of you deserve to have your bread buttered-I mean really this is nuts that those who give so much of what we need to carry on should struggle over utility bills, etc. Both of you have time and again said/offered just what I need to carry on. I love you and I know the Universe concurs. OH!! joannaoregon this includes you, beautiful one-all of you into my prayer room today!!

I met the future Gov of Maine, Steve Rowe, last night at a meet & greet to kick off his campaign.........
And as I was leaving he gave me a big bear hug goodbye~! ( I started off the evening with one of my political rants of course, & by the end of the evening he fully understood my situation.)
CONTACT! Moreover he is on the same page as Theresa Heinz, recognizing that Democracy begins with raising the children to be undamaged and facilitated.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I can say with CERTAINTY, that Pres O's Dept of Education is bathed in light!
Steve is friends with Glenn Cummings, (Ast. We all walked up the street for a tour of the Beehive Design Collective's ( givers of the Black Fly Ball in Aug.) , communal house, where the worker bees were preparing for the booth at the Common Grounds Fair. It's a huge beautiful victorian mansion, on the historic register.......Queen Bee Kebhen ( the one in Pittsburg waiting for other G20 protestors to show, and the National Treasure who began this collective 9 years ago, is to be commended for intitiating this idea, change through education through the use of Artwork as an entry wedge
into the schools, to teach AGAINST the recruiters! corporate depredations etc.!
I think the time for protest has passed and it is the time to get to work in a POSITIVE PLUTO IN CAPRICORN way,...........
I will call Dr. Dean, now again, available by phone at Democracy for America in VT. and see if he can scare up some funds for these kids to support their work....and because he should know they are here! qow

The mighty wheels of the Universe relentlessly continue to turn, as does all that exists. A majestic path that is foreordained is followed, as all movement brings each Sun and its planets into a cyclic pattern that propels its solar system ever on its journey through Space. There are cycles within cycles, and all moves in perfect harmony as it motions towards the centre of All That Is. We wonder how with such knowledge that the intelligence behind it all can be ignored. Yet there are some who are unable to credit an intelligence with such acts of creation, and the ensouling of every world that exists. Believe us Dear Ones, there is life everywhere you look, and not just in the dimensions that are open to your physical eyes. There are dimensions beyond your reckoning, and still life is present in abundance. It would be difficult to explain such vastness as an accidental occurrence, when it is clear that a mighty intelligence must exist that embraces all that exists. ... http://www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/First_Contact/mike_quinsey/channeled%20messages/September%202009/salusa__23september2009.htm

Sally, you and the AWs helped keep me sane during the 8 years of the Bush Jr. debacle. When the Supremes stopped the Florida count in Jan. 2001 and effectively selected Bush as president, I felt as though our republic/democracy had been stabbed in the heart. Then I thought, "well, maybe he won't be as bad as I think," but Bush was far, far worse than I ever imagined.

Now we're still standing in the wreckage, but we have hope. We've got to push for progressive changes and return to sanity and push hard, so that Obama has plenty of support & incentive to do the right thing. And we've got to vote out as many corporate puppets as we can.

Joanna, by chance I found the book "My Stroke of Insight" by Jill Bolte Taylor, Ph.D. About 10 years ago she was a neuroanatomist at Harvard, 37 years old, and she had a stroke in the left hemisphere of her brain. It took her about 8 years to recover, and she learned a lot about the intuitive, feeling, one-with-the-universe right hemisphere during this experience.

Fascinating book, well-written and very accessible. Please excuse the long-winded post.

I decided to range a bit further afield than USia news on Pres Obama which I think is a little bit of a brain wash against him. I mean he must be doing a few things folks like us would appreciate.

* US prison camp in Iraqi desert closes

Closing the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay is not America's only detainee dilemma. They still have 1000s of prisoners at two large detention centres in Iraq. Until this week, there were 3. But now, Camp Bucca - once by far the largest [USia] internment camp in Iraq - has closed. The BBC's Hugh Sykes visited Bucca on its last day.

Since the invasion in 2003, US forces have detained more than 100,000 people, most of them at Camp Bucca, far out in the desert near the Iraqi border with Kuwait. It was officially known as a "Tif" - Theater Internment Facility. It was named after a NY fire marshall, Ron Bucca, who died in the 11 Sept attack on the WTC in 2001. When it was est'd, it consisted of just a few tents surrounded by 3 layers of razor wire fencing. ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8266293.stm

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Marta, you are on and absolutely have not been banned.

Old Mayfly, thank you for your kind words but I don't think any of you know what a support you've been to others including me the last 9 years. Those that come and go on this board and those that keep standing by, all a support all have added a huge amount of wisdom and information and propel us forward. Literally when I see anyone (I don't want to start naming names because I'm afraid I will miss someone and you're all impotant) who has posted my spirit just leaps and I am not blowing smoke, if you saw my chart you would know that I don't blow smoke.

It's been interesting watching the retro Mercury aspect the Saturn/Uranus opposition and the chaos in words and the health bill and the economy and the war. It seems on the surface to all be in disarray while the government continues to shoot themselves in the foot. Uranus in the progressed Senate chart is at 27 Virgo adding to the stew pot. I don't think this health care bill will be hammered out really until Uranus goes direct but I do think we will get a new measure of truth when Mercury goes direct in Virgo. What seems to be happening on the surface is very different as to what is happening under the surface as Uranus trines Mercury in the US chart. However amusingly what I see on the surface is a bunch of people running around like chickens with their heads cut off and all in a tailspin without knowing what direction their tail is spinning. The "white noise" out there is deafening right now.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

You betcha Sally, white noise...........
LAst night I checked & the big Town Meeting/Vote on the moratorium (or NOT ) for the low cost housing,in Milbridge,( moon 2o Capricorn, threatened by T Pluto @ 1o) Happens at 7: PM Sept 8th, 12 hours BEFORE Mercury goes direct!

Marta-one thing I have learned about the AW site is that if there is any break in your posting such as, you know, answering the phone, etc the system will just eat your post. I have lost more than one that way. So--- if you think there has been a significant pause just "save" the original on your desktop and post and if it is "eaten"add your post later on a new box if the original gets eaten.
I haven't read everyone's entries yet. Love to see all the activity.

Sally, and all you brilliant, shiny-star AWers. I've taken myself out of circulation for a few days. Perhaps it's the nonstop rain, perhaps it's the fact that i've been railing on this healthcare issue and just needed a psychic break, a bath in the nethers of Love.

I just hate it that you're struggling, qop. I'll bet every single person on this board has been there. But, hey, isn't it time for calendars? I'm ready to send my check today!

One thing i keep seeing is what Sally keeps repeating. But, i believe we're going to be seeing more of those spouting vitriol, like the Becks and LImbaughs are going to be experiencing some pretty serious setbacks, even charges. However, what will be even more serious is the underhanded dealings (made public) about those CEOs who are profiting from these dark deeds. We're beginning to see glimmers of these every day, but i'm quite certain it's going to accelerate.

For now, how's about a little satire. . .

It really doesn't matter.

Aw, Sally, you are always so gracious.

In Atlanta tomorrow, Fri.Sep.25, at 3 PM, there is going to be a protest in front of the office building for Cigna Health Insurance (3500 Piedmont just NW of the Peachtree and Piedmont intersection in Buckhead.)

The CEO of Cigna received over 11 Million dollars in salary in 2008, and this year--perhaps sensing which way the wind is blowing--he received ONLY 1.3 million in salary. Both of these years he also received lavish perks.

Meanwhile, a young Atlanta woman policy holder of Cigna, Dawn Smith, will die soon if she cannot get the treatment which Signa has denied covering.

What's going on here? Are we back in the days just before the French revolution, or what?

Anyone in the Atlanta area who can come, please do.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Protests at Cigna? Ain't that a shame Mayfly, I know you feel as badly about this as I do. Sorry for the sarcasm but I do feel that we are at a dangerous tipping point, the anger unleashed at those "town halls" could be coming home to roost. The Hyatt in Boston isn't having a good time and I think good. It's a very peaceful demonstration, organizations are just cutting off using the Hyatt and the taxi cab drivers are refusing to go to the Hyatt

http://www.boston.com/business/ticker/2009/09/taxi_drivers_to.html

Then there are the riots in Pittsburgh, something is going to happen over the next week regarding the census taker who was killed, there are a lot of folks down their who have always hated the "census takers." and look for reasons over the last 80 years or so (since bootleg booze) to kill them.

Howard Dean says Congress really doesn't realize how angry people are at them, this summer was a shock. They need a couple more shock's I think before they get the fact they aren't hearing folks or responding to the needs of anyone but noney and people are really mad. This Mercury goes direct in a square to US Mars and conj. US Neptune with Uranus squaring and opposing that aspect. It will be such an interesting fall.

from Atlanta--it is unusual for us to have floods like this, but this formerly was a very heavily forested area and now there is so much growth, development, i.e. pavement, there is not so much natural woodland to absorb the water.

Anyhow, we are in the older part of town (built up 1908) our street parallel to Peachtree, which was one of the Cherokee trails, all of them along ridges. So we have had no flooding in my immediate neighborhood. Some outlying areas have been hit pretty bad.

Story on WSB-TV yesterday about an 87 year old woman in Lilburn (suburb) who was swept away by the water when her garage door (adjacent to her house) collapsed. This hearty woman exercised 5 days a week to stay in shape. She was able to swim to a tree and hang on. An 11 year old neighbor with an eastern European last name heard her scream and called his dad and 911. The dad swam out to the elderly lady and held on to her and to the tree until rescue arrived. All unhurt. Sort of a uniquely American story.

Old Mayfly [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, when I first heard this story about the woman, Dawn Smith, who had paid her Cigna policies for years, and then was diagnosed with a (treatable) brain tumor and denied coverage, I thought "Can this be true?"

Last year the Cigna CEO H.Howard Hanway received $11 Million in salary and millions more in perks.

Gosh, how can Cigna afford that kind of compensation? Maybe by denying claims of policy holders like Dawn Smith.

Anyhow, today at the anti-Cigna rally in Atlanta I met a few people who know Dawn. Dawn ran a pr/marketing company and also is a critically acclaimed playwright. She put in her claim 4 years ago and still is fighting for coverage of her necessary treatment.

I'll research and see if anyone is publicizing this on you-tube or elsewhere. It certainly needs to be widely publicized.

"Buy health insurance for peace of mind--until you actually need it and make a claim."

The city has definitely experienced a "death" with the loss of most of its' manufacturing industry and with it an exodus of a major percentage of its' peak population. Now, with a new generation of immigrants and technology, it seems poised to experience a full, if gradual, rebirth. Perhaps this bodes well for the eventual rebirth of the Midwest/Rust Belt region as a whole?

Is it me, or am I not hearing much about the G20 summit as before? Not that there haven't been protests, but I wonder if people realize that protest alone won't keep people's houses anymore-that new strategies are needed. Pluto in Capricorn brings out the capitalist in everyone, the entrepreneur. I fully expect a whole new economy by 2024, growing off the backs of the old.

Sally, thank you so much for this haven.

I have a new website, http://www.drugpeace.info. Built because I found out (intellectually) that pot can lower blood pressure and blood sugar, but old fashioned moralism and sheer insanity means that if I try the remedy, I lose my job!

A lot of people on the pot boards say that the law will never change because of industry, but I think industry is otherwise preoccupied, and considering some of the crazies that have come out recently, a little pot would do them good! Indeed I believe that's the secret of why things didn't get more crazy after Vietnam. The whole toke culture after that calmed down a lot of the Veterans and allowed them to adjust more readily to peacetime life.

I'm also working on my relocated site, http://www.aquariusmoon.info. It's just a personal site now, but I'll be blogging shortly once I'm no longer so preoccupied with the task of building my site. (Somehow it has something to do with my Venus in Virgo in the Ninth)

I have noticed though that pot is not perfect for every health problem. I know two people with serious mental balance problems who get very confused aand mixed up under the influence but so it is with everything-no size fits all-no medicine works for everything.

True, no drug fits everyone, but this is one drug where you can't even get in many states a doctor to evaluate you for risk. Under it's current scheduling (Schedule 1), the DEA says its not even worthy of study-I've read stories where researchers have been given the runaround to even study it to see if it might have medicinal/industrial/whatever uses.

It is almost the only drug where you can be arrested just for having. Also when it comes to effects, remember there are two types of pot: sativa, which is the mellowing kind, and indica, which is apparently more intense and body oriented. Of course, who knows how many batches have been grown with all sorts of unsavory chemicals as well due to the greed of some.

I'm also about to go back to school, so I would have to deal with Fed issues as well, so the war is not won for me, even if Ohio approved medical mj.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

* Realizing the Self

...Mental impulses seem to well up from the ocean of the unconscious without apparent logic or reason. But if you sit long enough you might discover, that as the world revolves on its axis, and the planetary angles activate your own planetary patterns in sequence, then there is a kind of logic to the thoughts and feelings that arise. If Mercury is at 20 deg Sagittarius and square Mars at 21 deg in aspect to Neptune at 22 deg, perhaps when the moving Ascendant axis hits 20 Sagittarius, you start dwelling on an injustice - a situation that is in your opinion not right or fair - which you then get angry about, and then feel helpless and sad about. Every day. Every day you carve deeper valleys in your psychological landscape through the same series of thought processes. Where is free will here? And how much stronger and more intense will this be when a passing transit, Uranus conjoining Mars for example, shakes up the configuration?

Being aware of this process changes everything. From an astrological point of view the awareness itself has nothing to do with Mercury. Thought cannot monitor itself. It has to do with the Sun, which is the one constant in the busy spiral of activity of Mercury, Venus, Mars and all the other planets as they revolve around the sun. ... http://www.world-of-wisdom.com/blog/realizing-the-self/25/

Presumably in order to make even more money than they must already be making, Mattel's American Girl - creator of obscenely pricey dolls that sell for up to $158, unless you want the bed for another $118 - is now marketing Gwen, a homeless doll. For $95, you get Gwen, with aforementioned dress, long blond hair and back story of a dark secret - she and her mom, fallen on hard times, live in their car before making their vinyl way to a homeless shelter.
Except MAttel wasn't THE CREATOR. A nice school teacher started the American Girl Doll concept and THEN sold out to Mattel.

Great articles and comments folks and your observations are so good. Take a look on Huffpo for the article about Obama trapped in the presidency and all he has to get around in order to accomplish anything. The presidency doesn't really have much power unless it's grabbed by illegal means which bush and cheney did just that. If the President had that much power Bill Clinton would have passed health care in 1994. Right now they are out to destroy the Obama Presidency as fast as they can.

QOP reminded me that I haven't been on AW much and I apologize but this last week has been particularly difficult and I am sorry.

Things are getting pretty nasty out there and the Saturn/Uranus opposition deals with the shift in the status quo so things will continue to heat up when Mars gets to Virgo. We will see many clashes with police/military and I think it is the military (I am not sure we aren't experiencing martial law right now) vs populist protestors, not right wing protestors.

I keep thinking of John Lennon's old song "Imagine" It's becoming imperative now for all who can to "imagine" a better world and what that would look like. Sometimes I wonder if this country has lived with ao much anger and hatred over one side or the other that it's near impossible to "imagine" a better world because that world would include everyone. Before anything changes at all in this country or the world there has to be a shift in consciousness, maybe that wave will come from Europe or Africa or Asia, but it doesn't seem to be coming from the US at this point in time, but the lesson of transformation is coming in the form of Pluto opposing the US Venus then Jupiter, then the Sun/sq to US Saturn, we will have to figure out if we (this country) decides to take the lessons of transformation or not.

ANd My Osho card for the day......... Playfulness
Zen Tarot Card
Playfulness

The moment you start seeing life as non-serious, a playfulness, all the burden on your heart disappears. All the fear of death, of life, of love - everything disappears. One starts living with a very light weight or almost no weight. So weightless one becomes, one can fly in the open sky.

Zen's greatest contribution is to give you an alternative to the serious man. The serious man has made the world, the serious man has made all the religions. He has created all the philosophies, all the cultures, all the moralities; everything that exists around you is a creation of the serious man. Zen has dropped out of the serious world. It has created a world of its own which is very playful, full of laughter, where even great masters behave like children.

Osho Nansen: The Point of Departure Chapter 8

Commentary:

Life is rarely as serious as we believe it to be, and when we recognize this fact, it responds by giving us more and more opportunities to play.

The woman in this card is celebrating the joy of being alive, like a butterfly that has emerged from its chrysalis into the promise of the light. She reminds us of the time when we were children, discovering seashells on the beach or building castles in the sand without any concern that the waves might come and wash them away in the next moment. She knows that life is a game, and she's playing the part of a clown right now with no sense of embarrassment or pretense.

When the Page of Fire enters your life, it is a sign that you are ready for the fresh and the new. Something wonderful is just on the horizon, and you have just the right quality of playful innocence and clarity to welcome it with open arms.
Please..all of you join me!

Excellent posts. It reminds me of a trite saying, "you can fool some people some of the time. . ." but it sure is difficult to keep it up. The illusions are being exposed in swift succession. Those who keep perpetuating the myth that we're coming out of this recession, while pocketing enormous profit HAVE to know what they're doing. It's one big Madoff scheme with no one talking about where the money is going (or to whom).

And yes, Sally, the media needs to explain (which won't happen)why the 24-7 coverage of right-wing yahoos, guns on hips, swaggering hate speech while those who demonstrate to help expose the illusions are ignored.

In 1944, an ill President Roosevelt(just about a year before his death), the war having taken its toll, addressed Congress in his 11th State of the Union message. At one point, FDR proposed a 2nd Bill of Rights, so to speak, that would cover American's rights where the The Bill of Rights had left off, or covered insufficiently. Of course, he did not intend for a change in the US Constitution, but rather these implementations would be enacted "politically" through legislative change.

Marta-thanks for the link to Gary Wills piece.
I was fascinated by his linking the emergence of the Imperial Presidency from WWII. I believe and have for years and will until the end I imagine (oh!! my end. I am no End Times type)that until "we" fall on our knees and beg forgiveness for using the split atom, etc against people and animals and the Earth herself we will be forced into the type of hideous ugliness we are in right now. This belief colors so much of how I act in life and what I demand and expect from leaders. I fear the consequences looming from the Imperial ignoring of "the people". Uranus in Aries is really going to surprise many of the chattering classes-I was born to two Aries- I know where my intuition comes from.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Clymela, you're welcome and I totally agree with you. Here's some to ponder on ... found on the internet:

"We throw good money at these gooks, and they still don't like us to invade their country and kill their people! Really! What does an empire have to do to get a little love around here?"

"What does an empire have to do?" Answer: Repent, and go away, and bring your leaders to trial, and hold them accountable for their war crimes and torturing..

Message to the USA, its leaders, and its people:

"It is unthinkable in the 20th century to fail to distinguish between what constitutes an abominable atrocity that must be prosecuted and what constitutes that 'past' which 'ought not to be stirred up'.
We have to condemn publicly the very idea that some people have the right to repress others. In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousandfold in the future. When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers, we are not simply protecting their trivial old age, we are thereby ripping the foundations of justice from beneath new generations. It is for this reason, and not because of the "weakness of indoctrinational work", that they are growing up "indifferent". Young people are acquiring the conviction that foul deeds are never punished on earth, that they always bring prosperity.

I apologize for the length on the following, from British Astrologer Palden Jenkins, but I do think his words are both extremely relevant and timely, if not critically important. He doesn't include aspects, but if you are even somewhat familiar with the planetary cycles, particularly Uranus and Pluto in Conjunction (1960s, 2100s), Square (2010s, 2070s) and the Opposition (2040s), but also the upcoming Neptune-Pluto Square (2060s), you will easily see the energies fall into place:

http://paldywan.blogspot.com/2009/03/what-about-future.html

Palden Jenkins: What about the future?

People keep asking me about the future. Well, I’ve spent decades on this, written a book and articles about it, and I’m going to give a brief summary here.

During 2008, we entered a seven-year period of intense reorientation and change. We’re faced with the overdue issue of accepting and tackling the world’s major problem, and there’s little time left to pretend otherwise. We all know roughly what the issues are. We’re into a phase of facing facts, and it has just begun. The economy won’t be reviving in two years’ time – this is dead serious.

In the next few years I think we’ll get an escalating series of crises, culminating in their coming in multiples, overloading the world’s capacity to handle it. The key issue is not the magnitude of such crises but their poignancy, and the wider issues they bring up. I estimate that, by 2012, we could be facing big stuff, and by 2015 the world will have been sufficiently shocked and battered to have made the necessary reorientation, in principle. Then comes the real stuff.

This involves a mobilisation of the world’s population and resources, and a thorough restructuring of global infrastructure, society, economies and human activity. We could see the bankruptcy and ineffectiveness of governments and nations, collapse of many established systems, a grasping for solutions and also tremendous pulling-together and improvisation – a painful mixture of tragedies and breakthroughs.

The later part of the next decade could begin to become more productive, with a momentum building. In the West in particular, we’ll be seeing a subsidence of material plenty yet an increase in social wealth – human stuff – prompted by major challenges and the need to cooperate, or suffer.

There’s a lot to do, and it takes 40-60 years to establish a forest or reorientate society into a zero-energy world where justice and resolution are becoming properly embedded. We’ll be entering a phase where we’re dealing with problems, but the problem is deep-seated, historical and enormous, and it could take decades until the world can be declared safe, properly proportioned and out of crisis – my earliest estimate is the 2050s, but it could be the 2070s-80s.

The 2020s could be a remarkable decade, with many innovations developing and many improvements gaining shape. Things will be changing fast, with new generations bringing a new approach. Progress in detoxifying the world, peace-building, soil-enrichment, climate recovery, city-rebuilding, resource-reorganisation, cultural change...

Humanity will be sorely tested in its capacity to hold together, to avoid the complexities of mass fear, pressure to feed and supply itself, resolve its conflicts and carry out all the necessary work. Itr could be relentless, but a time of great progress.

The 2030s could bring a wave of deeper challenges though. The problem is global, intricate and complex. Certain longterm consequences of earlier times cannot be fixed easily and quickly, and their effects could be kicking in. Not least population and survival issues. I believe the worst time could be the 2040s – during this decade we could find out whether or not humanity survives.

There could be large scale devastation, but the core issue here is the focusing of the global will and awareness, so that the busy dissonance of the past becomes focused in greater global resonance. That is, will to live, to cooperate, to act as one people with shared interests, and to prioritise whatever it takes to do so. Resonance is the way we will create the necessary miracles to solve the most threatening and crucial of global issues.

I think the 2050s could see a fitful, dawning relief and subsidence of crisis, but also a certain shock and debility amongst humanity. It could be a decade of assimilation of what has happened, and dealing with the consequences. A time of exhaustion, rather like the time after a major war.

By the 2060s or 2070s, a rebuilding phase could be beginning, oriented more to the future than dealing with the consequences of the past. But it’s a long haul, and integrating many of the breakthroughs of the time with daily-life reality could take time. Nevertheless, the world will have been rendered a more safe, just and proportioned place, and it will be a question of dealing with longterm issues here. Humanity will take time to revive, but new generations will be ready for it.

By the end of the century I believe we will have stabilised into a new global state. The world will be more ecologically well-adjusted, the world’s population could be smaller, it will be an integrated planetary system, society will be working on a cooperation basis., much will have changed, by necessity. It could be the beginning of a new age in human history.

That’s the short story. It’s my estimate, not a prediction cut in stone. Disasters and changes will be massive, especially for those on whom they impact most, but perhaps not as catastrophic as some people visualise. The key issue that many people omit to realise at present is that our reality is a manifestation of what goes on inside us, and it changes as we change.

So many world issues could be resolved not only in the physical, organisational way many people visualise – though this will be really important – but also by our changing within ourselves as a race. If you have a chaotic society run by people all looking after their own narrow interests, seeing things from their own viewpoint, you’ll get a turbulent world with an imbalanced climate and all sorts of things going haywire.

But if there is basic human unity of purpose and willingness to cooperate and understand each other, all sorts of things will change. This is not a dream, but a pragmatic solution, a basis for a society, and economy and an ecosystem that works.

Unlike Milbridge, this town is doing it right!
http://tinyurl.com/ycjsllq
"It takes 200 full- and part-time employees to tend to the more than 450,000 tomato plants in New England’s largest greenhouse operation. The company hired about 75 of those workers this summer to accommodate the new greenhouse.
( ALL LOCAL!)
The plants themselves are on a grand scale, some climbing 10 to 12 feet up a network of support wires. Bigger than a broomstick at the stalk, they’re full of dozens of picture-perfect tomatoes. An army of bumblebees takes care of the pollination and in the winter, grow lights mimic the sun to ensure year-round harvests.

To help keep the greenhouse warm, the company uses a wood-fired boiler system for heat, which it installed with the help of a $500,000 grant and loan guarantee from the federal Department of Agriculture."

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Great article Neo, the one thing he didn't say is as the last several years have shown us in a disturbing way, countries are being so weakened and have been so weakened it will be even more difficult to withstand or even survive what's ahead. I loved "as we change it changes."

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Another thing he didn't say was WHO exactly was doing the very destructive behavior forever n' ever amen... nobody wants to touch that with the proverbial 100 ft pole, & it's the "he (tiny collective) who shall not be named." Those plutocrats, with more money/power than god, work deliberately against the good of all... they care not a pin about "the all" and, in fact, seek to decimate "the all" purposely. I get tired of the deliberate leaving out of the "WHO". Soooo, it will continue as overall same-old same-old no matter what the astrological aspects. They merely coopt those.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

And those poor tomato plants will never get a rest because "He" says they shan't. "He" doesn't understand cycles for health--alternate periods of activity & rest, for example--& dismisses them of no bank account. "He" "thinks" Mother Nature is a stupid cow (which are NOT stupid like Him), esp where profit-profit-profit is concerned. So people will be fed with the fruits of plants driven to insanity in their slavery to the great & mighty idiot "Him-In-The-Sky" via "His" local reps. You think I'm kidding?! You think I'm not being Nice? Perish the thought!

The greenhouse is so much better on many levels. People want tomatoes. These tomatoes are locally grown, using already used land. Even with the power usage, the carbon footprint is much less than shipping tomatoes all the way from South America. I would be glad to do without the exploited labor, health problems, and cleared tropical forest land as well.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I understand, CarolJ... things are both/and, not either/or.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I agree, Sally and Joanna. There is definitely something insideous at work "in the shadows" and has been for ages. Whether it is the Illuminati or some other plutonian cabal, the fact is, this group or entity and its' clandestine activities must be thouroughly exposed and put out of commission forever.

My honest opinion now is that the plutonian individuals and organizations at work in the shadows are a direct product of the "good/bad" dichotomy that rests at the very heart of Western Civilization. The belief long held in the US and Europe that we are "the good guys" who are incapable of evil and wrongdoing, has only fostered the creation and growth of a shadow that is in essence that part of ourselves and our society that we individually and collectively deny.

The only solution that will work is to ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, as a civilization for EVERYTHING we have done both individually and collectively. We must accept responsibility for all of the things that we would rather blame on other people and things. There is no excuse for war and murder profiteering, genocide, ignorance, poverty and starvation, and trashing the Earth. What affects one of us affects us all.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Americans in particular fear our shadow. We cover it up with the flag and patriotism, but it still remains. It will grow until it either overtakes and destroys us from within, or we finally acknowledge it, accept it and take responsibility for it, which means putting a stop to it. One way or another, we will confront, or be confronted by our "dark side" within the next 5 years. All the flag-waving and chest-thumping reactionarianism in the world cannot and will not prevent our date with destiny.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

So true Neo......
"The only solution that will work is to ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, as a civilization for EVERYTHING we have done both individually and collectively. We must accept responsibility for all of the things that we would rather blame on other people and things. There is no excuse for war and murder profiteering, genocide, ignorance, poverty and starvation, and trashing the Earth. What affects one of us affects us all."
I saw this at work, first hand, in Germany 10 years after WWII. Not some of the elders but the young people..who have been running the country ever since. (Well Angela Merkel was a 1 year old baby back in 1955) But you get my drift. ANd always neo-nazism rears it's ugly head BUT their society dispatches it right away, which we are NOT doing!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Tomatoes....O, I am going to be controversial here. I have been trying to grow tomatoes through the winter in my house for several years now. Some varieties are perennial and self pollinating.......
Honey; when they don't feel like producing, THEY DON'T! Believe me!
Of course I don't have a fancy greenhouse or grow lights...but I don't think even gallons of
miracle grow would do the trick!

In case any of you missed it.

Hello everyone,

Mom called with some GOOD news. Her recent CAT scan shows that the "hot spots" are receding. The liquid within her abdomen is shrinking, which is good news also since that is where the cancer cells migrate to.

She is going through another round of chemo this week with a minimum of 7 more rounds in this segment.

The doctors are telling her that this panel of chemo is working and doing it's job.

She is experiencing a lot more exhaustion this week, but she is in good spirits and is thrilled with today's news.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Words do not express how happy I am to bring this good news to astroworld.............
so I won't even try!
Just "Good Job" everyone all the way around.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thank you QOP for posting my daughter's info about my CAT Scan. I don't tweeter or tweet because I cannot imagine that anyone would be interested in what I am doing, but I did have a CAT Scan last week and got the results today with my Chemo treatment and the news, as Amy said, was good. I am thrilled and more than hopeful, especially since the "wound vac" delayed my full treatment of chemo in the summer and the lowered cell count was another delay. Thank you all for your good wishes and the light you've been sending, I know it made a difference, a big difference. Bless all of you a million times over in your lives.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

NEO, you are RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT!!!!! We have to own it and nothing changes until we change. It is going to take a massive shift in consciousness and I try not to look at how far away I feel we are and what it is going to take for that final shift.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"he (tiny collective) who shall not be named."

You know Joanna, when the first Harry Potter book came out and I read it, and read how J.K Rawling said the books when practically channeled to her, I felt as I read all the books that there was a message being given not only to the children but the adults. Was it to be aware to the Muggles, was it there was more than we see or understand, or was it the power we give away to that "shadow" side of this country. The fear of questioning, of seeking, of being different; was the message that what we fear is nothing? and will we eventually see it all for what this country is and has become? I hope so.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

We here, have of course already been aware of the Muggles for quite some time................
Yes, there is, WAY, more than we can see or understand....
AND......ONLY WE; can give power to the shadow side! Only we can choose to give in to fear......
We are witnessing a miracle here, not "Sally's Miracle" but, OUR miracle! The POWER of LOVE. The POWER of Believing IS seeing...............

There is another, older, children's story.........
DO you remember Tinkerbelle? Her light fading......until all the children in the theatre cry out "I believe"? And her light returns becomes brilliant.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Interesting...I didn't post that,it did it by itself........
The follow through thought is: how can we best channel this tremendous power of love, and direct it, as an awesome force and direct it where it can affect the most change?
Is anyone else here sending love, & enlightenment, to the the Obama family? I have, they can use a heap of it.
I saw the first herons of the season yesterday down at the stream......................
{As a water creature the heron is also a symbol of going with the flow, and working with the elements of Mother nature rather than struggling against her.

The heron is a beautiful creature, exhibiting grace, and noble stature. It’s no wonder the Native Indians and ancients honored the heron throughout the centuries.
Specifically, the Iroquois tribe held the blue heron as a very good omen, a very lucky sign. They recognized the heron as an expert fisher/hunter. As such, they believed that sighting a heron before a hunt was a sign that the hunt would be a good one.}

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

And I am grateful that I arrived at the kitchen window to grab the watering can, just in time to see a young buck, chase the blue heron, who had to fly to the opposite stream bank!

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The G-20 ministers declared their meeting in Pittsburgh a success, but as Rob Kall reports in OpEdNews.com, the meeting’s main success was to turn Pittsburgh into “a ghost-town, emptied of workers and the usual pedestrians, but filled to overflowing with over 12,000 swat cops from all over the US.”

This is “freedom and democracy” at work. The leaders of the G-20 countries, which account for 85% of the world’s income, cannot meet in an [USian] city w/o 12,000 cops outfitted like the emperor’s storm troopers in Star Wars. Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Not new Moon qop, it's a Full Moon in Aries/Libra and aspects the 3/9 houses of the full moon chart in Washington. Fairly interesting full moon too, with a sextile from Mars in Cancer in the 12th to Mercury in Virgo in the 2nd house and transiting Neptune finishing out the yod from the 7th. T-Uranus is in a trine to Mars and opposition to Mercury and Mercury is conjunct the US Neptune as T-Neptune inconjuncts all of it aspects the US Mercury.

Mercury seems to be the messenger on this Full Moon, lots of Mercury contacts and the houses (3/9) representing communication are well in play, as is Neptune. Pay some attention to the information we receive, or have already received this last weekend and the next couple of days. We have Iran on the table, Afganistan (Mc Crystal meeting Obama Friday) California is seriously going broke and has too much money out in loans with China, Senator Baccus has ended the mark up insurance reform bill and is sending it out of the finance committee. Lots of news out there and as per Neptune, we will not get the straight scoop, be sure to listen very carefully especially on health care reform and certainly California if you live there.

Uranus is involved here with a trine to Mars and an opposition to Mercury, so it could all be sudden change. None the less the big info is communication, messages, obfuscation around those messages of the last few days and next couple.

UMM professor is Down East’s own college of musical knowledge
MACHIAS, Maine — Behold Gene Nichols: Today he is wearing canary yellow socks, a Peruvian jacket and a dress shirt that is red on one side and blue on the other.

His long white hair has escaped its ponytail and is sort of swirling in surprise around his head, and his oversized glasses dwarf his face as he sits in his music classroom at the University of Maine at Machias — a space that is part playground, part symphony hall, part band shell and wholly wacky.
.................................
Gene is bringing his Ukulale Band to Milbridge, on the 12th, for our Peace Concert.
The couple who organized our "Work for Peace "Group, moved to the feudal kingdom of Bar Harbor

Stress is a well-known cause for many health problems, from heart disease to acne. It also makes weight gain more likely due to several metabolic factors - the fight-or-flight cycle of adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol, for example - and can lock us mentally into a cycle of stress eating.

Luckily, this can be overcome. Not by going all new-agey and giving up our modern lives to live among the Yanomamo, but by honing the mind to conquer the body's false survival signals.

The demise of the dollar

Source: The Independent (UK)

In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.

Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.

The plans, confirmed to The Independent by both Gulf Arab and Chinese banking sources in Hong Kong, may help to explain the sudden rise in gold prices, but it also augurs an extraordinary transition from dollar markets within nine years

In the vertex progressed chart Chiron is on the US Saturn right now squaring the US Sun, a disasterous blow has already been delivered and the results of this will play out over the next few years while Saturn and Uranus and Pluto move over that 14 degrees of Saturn. It will be a change for the US for sure and as Pluto comes across that US Saturn and then moves forward to conj. itself at 27 Capricorn coupled with the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius in 2020 giving us a new direction, vision and an opportunity to rebuild over the following 20 years, hopefully a better and more honest direction. A book written by Stephanie Coontz "The America that Never Was" is a real eye opener as to the illusions we've been fed and lived under for decades is well worth the read.

I saw Michael Moore's film tonight "Capitalism - A Love Story" it's worth the time and overwhelming in it's scope of junk we've been fed. Kind of like a "love story" that's filled with lies and broken dreams. We will need to find a new dream folks because the one we've been living has dashed our hopes of "happy every after."

I read that wonderful book a few years ago, Miss Sally, because at that time, I decided to read only material written by women... as they definitely had a different view on the world, recommended it to many, loaned it out, then forgot who unfortunately. Will get another copy & re-read. And I will view Michael Moore's new film, too. Perhaps the guys are finally catching on.

Love this Victor Hugo quote from Anne Ortelee's website:

Weekly Weather October 5, 2009

" The true division of humanity is between those who live in light and those who live in darkness....But to talk of light is not necessary to talk of joy. One may suffer in the light; its excess burns....To burn without ceasing to fly, that is the achievement of genius. When you have reached the stage of knowing and loving you will still suffer. The day is born in tears. The enlightened weep, if only for those still in the darkness." Victor Hugo

I'm so glad you liked "The Way We Never Were" Joanna and I'm feeling like "The Way We Will Never Be." Not without some kind of huge metamorphis of the people.

At approximately 7:30 am or so (MDT) the Moon will be at the nuclear degree of 8/9 degrees Gemini. Perfect don't you think. The very concept of "blowing up the moon" leaves me blank and speechless. The utter insanity of it the long term danger and implications of it is just beyond the pale. It leaves me beyond the question "what are they thinking." Was there international input into this? Was it explained? I am sure they can slam a missle into the crust of the moon or think they can, but then what? You drive a hole into any wall and you cannot exactly determine the long term ramifications, it's just beyond stupid and narrow thinking. Lord have Mercy. Remember the old nursery rhyme: "I see the Moon, the Moon sees me, God Bless the Moon and God Bless Me."

If you get the chance to watch the clip of Keith Olbermann's hour long commentary on health care, please consider doing so. He rightly said this isn't about politics, or president, or insurance and big pharma, this is about life over death and choosing life and how can we as a society not stand in unison to choose life for one more day or year or even second, it's why we are here and yes "death" will ultimately win in the end it always does and always will, but how can we not want to choose life when possible. It is an excellent commentary, no, not excellent, outstanding in it's message.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I feel the same way. I haven't even talked about the horror I feel when I hear that we want to "bomb the moon". Really the words I do have are so insufficient to express my grief and sorrow and horror. This from a society that produces citizens who steal girls and boys to use as sex slaves. This from a society that will allow medical care only to those who can pay. I believe that we are lost and we now need a miracle to save us.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

JoannaO, both your posts re: riding those recreational vehicles roughshod over pristine park land, tearing it up (get out and walk!! is right), and the bombing of the moon, are a testament to America's culture of violence. It's not bad enough that they practise it here on earth, now they want to be the first to promote it in outer space. It really disgusts me that nobody is trying to stop this lunacy, all to the tune of $79 million in cost to taxpayers.

Dear Ones not only are you progressing as individuals, but better still you are raising the level of Human consciousness. It is your path out of duality and is creating opportunities for other souls to lift themselves up. The energies that you are creating can inspire others, and it is how the awakening gradually brings in more people. This is important at this time when the dark ones are trying to hold on to you. We see a movement in your consciousness that is going to bring about a grand awakening. It will bring about the end of their attempts to hide the truth behind the many actions that have brought about the present reign of fear.

You are the Ones that are paving the way to a new era, and soon you shall see the first benefits arising from it. As we have told you on a number of occasions, it is the right time to claim back what is rightly yours. You have been controlled in many ways over a long time, and without a change of direction would be totally at the mercy of the dark forces. Now you have a world leader who will take heart from the people’s support, and make decisions that will clearly be seen as establishing a peaceful period in human experience. We know what is in his heart, and he only waits for the opportunity to show what he can do. You are crying out for his spiritual perception to show itself and be translated into action, and it will come. ... http://www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/First_Contact/mike_quinsey/channeled%20messages/October%202009/salusa__12_october2009.htm

But it won't happen unless we ORGANIZE. Just think,of the common ROOT (* earth, Capricorn, rooted, stable), of that word with the word ORGANIC, that is "LIVING". We ORGANIZE towards COMMUNITY, whose roots suggest UNITY, together within diversity. We don't organize towards SYSTEM, whose main value is control by a few."

The Baucus bill passed. We are so screwed. Here's an interesting comment found at NYT on it.

The Baucus committe must explain the skullduggery they engaged in last spring which is buried 10 graphs from the end of an 8/6/09 article in Business Week:

http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/09_33/b4143034820260.htm

“This is good news for UnitedHealth, which benefits when patients pick up more of the tab. In late spring, the Finance Committee was assuming a 76% reimbursement rate on average, meaning consumers would be responsible for paying the remaining 24% of their medical bills, in addition to their insurance premiums. Stevens and his UnitedHealth colleagues urged a more industry-friendly ratio. Subsequently the committee reduced the reimbursement figure to 65%, suggesting a 35% contribution by consumers—more in line with what the big insurer wants. The final figures are still being debated. ”

This pending 50% rise in co-pays & deductibles of all Americans from the current 24% of costs to 35% of costs (on top of our premiums) is exhibit A why there absolutely MUST be a public option to control insurance cost abuse, as well as why this data must be exposed by Democrats and the press at the earliest opportunity.

Broad discussion of this bomb-shell cannot be held until after reforms are completed, or reforms will get blamed by the inusurance industry for hikes obviously approved last spring.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

JoannaO, thanks for posting the polwaves article on the Baucus health bill ...

I just love how the propaganda machine works. Embedded in the article is this tidy little idea, which, if you don't know anything about the health insurance market/plans, helps to allay any fears about something negative (very negative) in the Baucus plan, i.e. the tax on "cadillac" plans (which is another propaganda tool since the only difference between the "cadillac" plans and the plans the insurance companies WANT TO SELL YOU is the cadillac plans have affordable COPAYS and DEDUCTIBLES, hence people USE THEM TO GO GET THEIR HEALTHCARE.

++++++ This is what the article said:

The PricewaterhouseCoopers study also assumes that proposed taxes on high-cost insurance, new levies on insurers and other health industry firms, and Medicare cuts will be directly passed on to privately insured policyholders.

Critics of the study said it tilted those assumptions too far toward a worst case, ignoring the bill’s potential to curb costs (CURBING COSTS MEANS IN INSURANCE LANGUAGE - THAT YOU DON'T USE THE PLAN!).

For example, the tax on high-cost health insurance that Baucus is proposing could lead employers and individuals to switch to lower-cost plans and avoid the levy. If that happens, there would be no additional costs to pass on to consumers.

+++++

EXCEPT THAT NOW YOU WOULD BE PAYING PREMIUMS FOR PLANS THAT ARE DESIGNED NEVER TO BE USED EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF A CATASTROPHE, AND ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME BEFORE THE PERSON GOES BANKRUPT - THE "LOWER COST PLANS" = DEDUCTIBLES OF A MINIMUM OF $2,000 (PER FAMILY MEMBER!!!!!) PER YEAR!!!!! OR EVEN HIGHER, SAY $5,000 DEDUCTIBLES (PER MEMBER/PER YEAR) WITH OUT OF POCKET COSTS AROUND $10,000 PER MEMBER!

Take me: I'm self-employed, pay $535 PER Month for a $2,000 deductible plan. If I get sick I have to pay $2,000 before I get 1 dollar back. So, $7,000 in premiums + $2,000 Deductible. If I get sick $9,000 in expenses for ONE year. If I'm still sick the next year, probably $10,000 in expenses because the premiums go up every year and if you have an "age change" could go up around $500 (a month) like it just did for my brother.

I keep on tellin' ya'll - SINGLE PAYER OR NO MANDATE or NO REFORM. Better the devil you know than this highway robberty. Write your CONgresscritters and senators. I already left Obama a message on the whitehouse site informing him that if there wasn't a single payer (or at least a voluntary, open to all public option in the reform package that he could forget about my support, vote or anything else from me and I'll make sure everybody around me arrives at the same conclusion). This is war.

I'm sorry, I get so darn mad every time I hear the LIES that I feel like I'm going to explode! This is NOT an honest DISCUSSION of the costs/benefits of healthcare reform. THIS IS A FRAUD AND A CHEAT AND A STEAL. By our own government in collusion with big business. Now, when the middle class is reeling from the economy.

The stock market celebrated the news, outlined in a front-page Journal article on Wed, along with the release of JPMorgan Chase’s 3rd-qtr earnings report, which showed a 7-fold increase in profits from last year to $3.6bn. The Dow Jones Industrial Avg rose 145 pts, closing above the 10,000 mark for the first time in a year.

The record pay being handed out by the 23 largest publicly traded banks, hedge funds, asset mgmt firms and stock and commodity exchanges (the report did not incl privately held companies) underscores the class interests being served by the Obama adm and the subordination of the entire political system to a financial aristocracy which essentially dictates govt policy.

The American financial elite, aided and abetted by the WH and Congress, is profiting from an economic disaster that is driving 100s of millions of working people in the US and around the world into poverty—a disaster precipitated by its own methods of financial speculation and fraud and its manic pursuit of personal gain.

One year after the financial crash of 2008, the richer-than-ever compensation packages for bankers give the lie to Obama’s occasional protests against Wall St “excesses” and talk of tough, new banking regs. It demonstrates that the adm’s economic policies, incl trillions in subsidies to the banks, have been devoted to paying off the bad debts of the bankers at public expense and protecting the wealth of a miniscule section of the population.

There is an element of provocation in the pay awards being doled out by the banks. Far from curbing their avarice, they are flaunting their wealth and power in the midst of soaring unemployment and deepening social misery for millions of Americans. ... http://www.wsws.org/articles/2009/oct2009/pers-o15.shtml
