I'm a little cautious of the Susan Boyle birthdate. I did find out on the web that the April 1st date came from Johnthan Cainer of Britian but he doesn't say where he got the data, there are two other dates floating around out there, one May 2nd 1961 and the other Oct. 22, 1961. Also unless this was pre-recorded, it was supposedly live on April 11th and she said she was 47, almost 48 which would indicate the May 2nd. Scotland keeps very good birth records and I'm sure eventually the information will come from Susan herself in one of her interviews. But the April 1, 1961 is still fairly vague.

Hailey is 3 years old now and a bundle of energy, she's been here one day and I am worn out, but she is so cute, just gotta make it until next weekend and then try to revitialize myself.

I don't know how long Susan Boyle's 15 minutes of Fame will last, but this is sure making me happy for her and I hope it lasts a while. Lots of hard work ahead this summer when Saturn squares her Sun along with Uranus, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

That is certainly an option QOP, also it could be authority (Saturn) restricts her more than she is accustomed to being restricted. Her Mars/Uranus conjunction (natal) can make her eccentric and they talk about her like she is indeed eccentric. Toward the end of the month (May, 21st, 2nd, 23rd) when Mars squares that conjunction, I would expect her to have a melt down day somewhere in there or a huge attack of nerves. She has a lot of pressure on her now to win that contest. I am so glad her brother took her away from all this, let everything die down.

Keep looking for the time of her birth. Cainer has a rectified time, but since was way off her birthdate I don't trust the rectified time he came up with.

Whoops, Mars doesn't square her Mar/Uranus conjunction the end of May, it trines so the end of May would be a red letter day for her, my mistake. It will however come close to a square to her Moon and that could be an argument with a woman in her environment, sister, handler, something like that.

there's quite a line up today and tomorrow with Venus, Mars, Uranus and Moon all in late Pisces and moving toward their neighbor Aries. It will be a while before Uranus gets there but the other planets are set to move into Aries.

What is rich? This is an interesting article. In some parts of the country is $250,000 rich? Doing ok yes, but rich? I can see a huge argument coming and further divisions between who actually has and who hasn't. Felt like a QUeen, dining listening to the classical music station online,with a cozy fire in the woodstove, then rediscovered my tidepool slides from the 60's, 70's. Wow!They are better than the more recent photos.........The spring peepers were serenading for the first time this season, and my Grandson called from Fla. at the end of the day so I could wish him a Happy 15th Birthday, and share the exciting news that his Godparents are sending him to computer camp this summer.
What more could I have wished for? It may have been one of the happiest days in my life!

Regarding the Derby, that's always interesting, but what is more interesting is the team of polo horses that just died yesterday. I heard on NPR that the owner of the team held the horses while they were in distress and cried. They don't know what happened yet. I would be interested in the owner's chart and/or a horary (is that the term?) interpretation of the event but I don't think that's possible as they didn't all die at the same time.

Could you work with the time the first horse died?
( setting aside for a moment that 20 more followed?) The horary would reveal the cause of the first horses illness/death. That's all you need, because they obviously all succumbed to the same thing. That wrenched MY heart. Awful! I have been there photographing the polo games!

They said the first two horses died shortly before the start of the race and the race started at 3:00pm, April 19th in Palm Beach Florida. I took a 2:45 time but that's approximate. A Leo Asc and Taurus Midheaven both rulers (Sun and Venus) were at the fateful 29 degrees. Sun at 29 Aries and Venus at 29 Pisces. Mars and Venus were in the 8th house with Uranus, Moon and Neptune were at 24 and 26 respectively in Aquarius. Jupiter was at 22 Aquarius on the cusp of the 7th. Jupiter can represent the "long journey" or death.

The Moon/Jupiter/Neptune close proximity would indicate they didn't suffer, they more or less slipped away. The emphasis on the 7th house expecially with Jupiter on the cusp points to a group or someone thought to be a friend or someone foreign. Certainly a huge loss, (Mars in Pisces and Jupiter within 4 degrees of Neptune. If it was foul play or even accidental, the Mercury coming to a conjunction to the mid-heaven and square Jupiter would say that who and what will be found out.

* Venus, the planet of money, has changed direction in the last few days, and like clockwork the economic news has taken a turn for the better. How much of this news has been massaged by govts I do not know, but the vitality of the economy is based on people’s confidence in it as much as anything, so presenting a smiling face is almost a responsibility of govts in times like these. In the US, Obama’s upbeat msg, like Roosevelt before him, has probably got a lot to do with the economic progress that seems to be occurring.

At some point, if truth is going to be told, someone will loudly declare that Obama's hesitance on doing anything about torture is because he, along with the rest of the bipartisan betrayal crew in Congress, voted for torture. They also voted for war where 1.2 millino Iraqis died and 4200 U.S. soldiers. Vince Bugliosi calls that murder and want's Bush indicted.

Truly, though, anyone who voted for funding for the Iraq adventure in madness and/or funds for agencies committing torture is as guilty as those ordering it. It's like a mob prosecution - you go for the top of the mob. That way you punish the current crime(s) and prevent lots of future crimes.

So Obama can get in touch with his feminine side and confess - "I was complicit with torture by voting for funding and I was complicit with the deaths in Iraq by voting for funding. I have done those things I ought not to have done and not done those things I ought to have done. There is no health in me." But he won't. None of them will. Because they're guilty.

Several of those who voted for funding like Obama stated over and over that they were against the war but we were already there and we couldn't leave Iraq in the lurch and so they voted for funding with the hope that their lame excuse could keep them riding the fence safely and Mars slipped into Aries tonight and I cannot sleep, happens every time.

Hello, AWorlders, I've been reading and enjoying but not commenting lately. Re Susan Boyle, when I saw her I was convinced she is either a Taurus or a Taurus rising. She said she's been studying music since she was 12. That's steady.

Is anyone here old enough to remember Kate Smith? She was a radio singing star in the 30s and early 40s. Very popular. Her rendition of Irving Berlin's "God Bless America" was her biggest hit.

Kate was a hefty woman with a good voice (but not as good as Boyle's.)

I am working on many charts for the summer and fall - Sibly Mars and Neptune under stress from transiting Mars and Saturn in August as is President Obama's Mars - but it is the October and early November period when Bush and Roves charts really begin to pick up the heat with a climax of some sort coming in early November when the Sibly, many financial charts for the U.S., and the national charts of many of the world's major economies also get clobbered.

In a person's life pattern, choices are made all along the way that points to death, but death in a chart shows up as transformation and we have hundreds of transformations throughout our lives and one of them will be the final passing, which one? Which choice or different choice could we have made? It's the same for a company, a town, a country. Which choice did we make that ensured the time would arrive that one of the choices would ensure this country's demise into something new, a new transformation. Was it the Civil War, or the Federal Reserve Bank Act or the League of Nations morphing into the UN, or was it the Revolution itself that ensured our fall?

Countries have risen and fallen, their boundaries changed, absorbed into other countries all transformed, and so will we. The question is always "how much control will I have over what happens here?" I don't think we have any, only our attitude toward the changes. Look at the massive earth changes in the world just in the last 300 years, more will certainly come, will we, as an individual, be in the path of those earth changes? Perhaps, perhaps not, but the astrological signature has always been there for all of our transformations, individually and collectively. Marriage, birth, divorce, lost jobs, houses burned down or washed away, the signs are always there and the only choices we have is how we respond to the events.

Prophecies and predictions are as old as time and someone found out centuries ago that we, in the human race respond to the most terrifying of the predictions. If anyone says there will be horrible and massive earth changes, governments falling, financial crisis, many deaths, how wrong can they be on all of them? These things have been happening since the beginning of time, and they will continue to happen, so my chances of getting at least three predictions right are pretty good at any given time.

The powers that be, whomever they are have been trying to control the world through domination and fear since the first person to declare himself King or Ceasar or Pope have been ruling us all with a great deal of success. Fear is our enemy and always has been, I don't know how to get past it except to try to look at it honestly, face it directly and go on with my life.

I was taken by how the timing of their proposals fits with astrological timing. There is much in their suppositions that I do not believe and I do not think their record of correct predictions is overwhelming even though they make claims for predicting many well known events, but with the current state of reality and the astrological charts that I have studied thus far, the general theme of their prognostications certainly could be seen to have as much merit as any astrological forecast. That is to say, while they may not be right on with the particulars of what they have said, the timing and possible psychological state of the general population of the world could most certainly be close to correct.

Joanne, I cracked up reading Matthew because that is exactly what I have believed from the beginning of the "swine flu" I haven't wanted to say anything because I believed it to be in poor taste but I have absolutely believed it was manufactured. I may have gone over the edge but this struck me as hilarious this AM when someone sent it to me. A vial of swine flu virus was dropped and broke on a Swedish Train, it seems someone was hurt when the box and vials broke, but they hastened to add that no one was in danger from the virus. This to me is a perfect example of how stupid governments think we are. They've talked about us as "sheep" and "the masses" for so long we don't have names, faces, or intelligence.

The thing about Specter's "shift" to the Democrats, and his list of "what he won't do as a dem" made me wonder exactly what it was about the Democrats that would compel him to join their party. I didn't hear one single thing about what he thought was good about the Democrats or how they better fit his vision of helping the US return to their moral and ethical roots.

It's quite possible old Specter won't win any election, repulsive OR dem party, then that'll be the end of him... if we're blessed. ;O)

I do believe that Arlen Specter is a completely self serving type of public servant, with himself as the only public he cares about. The GOP is going after him in a really nasty (as only they can do) ugly way. I don't think "self-serving" arlen will stand for that and just might give the GOP something to think about. He might move more toward voting in a Democratic Block than he thinks right now. The GOP is showing him that there are no "friends" in politics.

A very interesting article on the upcoming conjunction of Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune and it's relationship to what is happening today (disease, economy, war) When this triple conjunction happened in 1945 it fell in Libra, a rising collective desire for balance in the world had been moving across the universe for several years, in 1881, the conjunction was in Taurus, another Venus sign and a desire (as the article states) to end the Boer War and return to being able to work their own earth.

Now the triple conjunction is in Aquarius, and there is and has been a collective rise for a few years, in fact from the point of Uranus in Aquarius, of togetherness, understanding of each other and acceptance. I know with "I Want Revenge" out of the running that the favorite is not Frieson Fire, but I'm going to stick to the long shots. Not the best way to pick a horse. I have a hope to see General Quarters win, because he was the most unlikely and a 75 year old retired teacher bought him for $20,000 to save him from the glue factory. He was born March 7, 2006 and comes from good lines, his Moon was around 8 degrees Cancer and the mid-heaven at start time is 13 Cancer, by progression he comes very close to that midheaven. I would love it if he won. I also put a couple of dollars down a three other horses because General Quarters is pretty much a long shot.

It's my nephew's birthday too. His natal Jupiter was in a trine to natal Uranus and they formed a grand trine to the race's mid-heaven with a transiting Cancer Moon setting it all off. Just an aside. My sun sign is at 0 Pisces and it just occurred to me that the Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron conjunction is affecting me for 2 reasons: I finally had the appointment with a wholistic nutrition lifestyle counselor that I've been talking about having for 2 years (my husband and I are making some dietary changes and want to take into consideration some of our borderline health conditions). It was fabulous. I got SO much out of it. From talking to her in the past, I thought she might have trouble focusing and keeping her explanations short (as I already know a good deal) but, on the contrary, she was focuses and a wealth of information but she spent the first 45 minutes just listening to me. Tomorrow, I was invited to attend my husband's therapy appointment - a good thing, I believe. I'm also in a 6 year and it feels just like one. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the upcoming Jupiter transits of my 6 Pisces placements (sun, jup, ven, mars, MC, SN) in 2010. It will greatly help offset the crunch of Saturn, Pluto, Uranus against my 0 Libra Saturn, 6 Cancer Uranus, and 0 Capricorn Chiron natal placements.

qow -- a little story. Of all the reps we regularly call/write only one consistently replies -- Lincoln Davis our Dem. Rep. Lamar Alexander doesn't even bother to send an acknowledgement of receipt. The initial health care hearings were held (with of course the insurance companies, they know so much about it all) and there were doctors and lawyers standing up in the hearings demanding to be heard on single payer health care and they were arrested. The committee wanted them to know they heard them, bull puckey they heard them, they did not and Obama is not going to go against the banks, the insurance companies (same group) or wall street to help the people. I watched the video of the healthcare hearings-outrageous. My question is how funny the people there must have felt as they realized that these doctors and nurses looked a lot like they do. Capitalism and the crisis of nature

THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION that environmentalists are not very good at asking, let alone answering: “Why is this, the destruction of the natural world, happening?” We ordinarily think of environmentalists as people who care about something called nature or (if they’re feeling a little technocratic, and they usually are) the “environment.” They are concerned, as well they should be, that the lifestyle and economic practices of the industrialized West are not sustainable, and that nature itself may experience a “system collapse.”

But as scientifically sophisticated as environmentalism’s thinking about natural systems can be (esp its ability to measure change and make predictions about the future based on those measurements), its conclusions about human involvement in environmental degradation tend to be very reductive and causal. Environmentalism’s analyses tend to be about “sources.” Industrial sources. Nonpoint sources. Urban sources. Smokestack sources. Tailpipe sources. Even natural sources (like the soon-to-be-released methane from thawing Arctic tundra). But environmentalism is not very good at asking, “Okay, but why do we have all of these polluting sources?”

Because we have not allowed ourselves to ask this question and instead limited ourselves to haplessly trying to turn off sources, our experience has been like Mickey Mouse’s in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”: for every berserk broomstick that he hacked in half, two more took its place, implacably carrying buckets of water that, one by one, created a universal deluge.

Similarly, for every polluting source that we turn off (or “mitigate,” since we can’t seem to really turn off anything), another two pop up in its place. For example, at the very moment that we seem to have become serious about reducing our use of petroleum, here comes coal from the ravaged mountaintops of W Virginia and tar sands from Canada, the dirtiest and most destructive energy sources of them all. In 2004, Schwarzenegger promised voters that the state would rip up its credit cards and balance its books if they approved his deficit borrowing plan and rainy day fund proposal. The voters did just that and what they got in return were budget deficits in 5 of the next 6 fiscal years and a whopping $25b in debt. One of the Insurance executives testifying in Congress the other day and in their effort to stem Obama's health care plan or at least take it off course, suggested that the government regulate them even more, he said "there is no reason for people to trust us but they can trust their government." I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself. That is how out of touch these people are, I so badly wanted to say "fella, it's too late to trust the government, that horse has already left the barn."

Hi again-I'm back from work.
Sally Legally the last day of employment is 5/31/2009. The work day is 5/29/09. I signed the papers today at aprox 1:47 and that is that.
I thought I would scream-the County employee told me that I had to have a birth certificate. No I don't because Social Security has already apporved me and that is all the verification any one needs as far as citizenship goes but try and tell a bureaucrat something. Used to drive me crazy with co-workers who would harass someone for a birth certificate when we had multiple copies on file, Oh well that is behind me now.
I know there is more than nine trillion too Sally but this is right out there and someone should say something but they don't, won't.

Sally, i too have been sluggish the last couple of weeks. It seemed to coincide with Mercury retro, taking stock. There's also significant tension building. In some ways we all may be steeling ourselves for what we "feel" is coming. I have to back away from a penetrating sadness, a horror that at times is all consuming.

On Wednesday, a story in the Washington Times about murdered Chicago schoolchildren was inexplicably paired with a photo of President Obama's daughters. The two girls are not mentioned in the story, and aside from having at one point been schoolchildren in Chicago have no conceivable connection to it..................

That story about the school children and Obama's children makes we want to vomit. It is one thing to say that these evil ones won't give up just because we don't like them but to be reminded of what the evil ones will do ,have done and will do is sickening. Is this why Obama is heating up the war in the ME? I don't know but I want to turn away from the world away from these mudering pukes and their hatefulness.

Joanna, the significance of Frodo's and Bilbo's Sept. 22nd birthdays had sat at the back of my mind since i first read the books, age thirteen or so. Since then i've managed to run through the Hobbit and the trilogy at least five times. They're transformative especially to those of us with over-active imaginations.

qow, i agree with clymela. Also your art is so magical, it begs for a larger audience. That you are beginning to experience says to me that the "magic" has a window of potency.

BTW, i used to have several hats and wear them! Now i only have a pale blue knit cap i wear in the winter.

qop, that is a wonderful passage on Neptune. My neptune is supposedly poorly placed in the 6th house but it has always brought the greatest comforts from the small animals in my life such as my childhood companion dog Lady and the many cats from childhood on. And that placement of Neptune made my years as a"lowpaid government worker" full of inspiration and money too-trine sun and mercury in the 2nd. Only the dark side of Neptune refers rto sickness and deception and addiction just as you said.

I like the Preakness best because I had a press pass into the inner circle in 1984. Swale had won the Derby, but came in 10th, Gate Dancer won the race. You could tell watching the horses saddle up, G Dancer was ADHD that day, and 2 weeks later, Swale was dead.!

It occurs to me – some 5 dys and 2 hrs before my Uranus half-return is partile for the 1st time–that there are very few uniform astrological opportunities of this magnitude available in a human life for evolution. All those years ( a decade ) I spent at the track and paintig horses, I never placed a bet. ( Or had a strong feeling about the winner beforehand.) Once at the Fla. Derby,there was a filly named Pat's Chance in the 11th race...I couldn't leave my spot at the rail in the press box. An outsider from Philly I would, not have been able to get back up to the rail to photo the Derby.................

Just catching up on all the great posts here after 3 weeks of being away, and time goes so fast these days.
Was just reading the Merriman link that Karen provided, and this jumped out at me:

QOP, I can so identify with your predicament in balancing the desire to dedicate yourself 100% to your craft, and at the same time take care of your material needs; but you seem to be working wonders with your juggling act! Wish I could say the same for myself.

I have been only lurking for the past few months, but would now like to get some feedback/opinions from you all re Obama's recent mind changes (i.e. flip-flops) on previous campaign pledges to release detainee photos, do away with military tribunals at Guantanamo, and perhaps most crucially, once and for all get to the bottom of the Bush era horrors re torture in a bold and transparent way, to ensure this will never happen again.

Sorry, but as a Constitutional Law professor, he better than anyone should know that we are a nation of laws, and that no one can ever be above the law, no matter what his/her position.

Aside from being morally wrong, I believe his decisions in this regard will very soon begin to backfire on him both strategically and politically, as more thinking people, and not just his "liberal base" (whatever that means!) will be demanding full investigations and criminal accountability (like the NYTimes editorial board this morning, as well as Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd).

I'm not capable of interpreting this astrologically in any way, but I think Obama is in imminent danger of appearing like a hack/just another opportunistic politician, which I'm afraid will seriously effect his huge popularity based on promises of transparency and "fundamental change" in our society and government.

Also, I'm very, very unhappy about the continuation of U.S. airstrikes in Afghanistan/Pakistan with so many horrific civilian casualties (especially so many young children) which will do much more to inflame Mulims and further polarize them against the U.S. than the release of more torture photos, no matter how disgusting the photos' contents.

The decisions he's now making will be revisited because THE LAW will demand it something he knows as a constitutional lawyer. So what's going on behind the scenes? The Forces involved in your aforementioned scenarios, Grizz, don't play nice, as qop indicated above. And we are only seeing/hearing what the media puts forward.

This struggle for supremacy seems rather archetypal, an ongoing muscle-man contest that's pumping up for it's last fight. Which makes Rachel Alexandra's win a symbology of something even more potent. For in this muscle-man contest women are supposed to be spectators only. The feminine has been -- for far too long -- demeaned, abused, and shunned. That is changing. While i'm not a fan of Pelosi, she too seems to symbolize the emergence of the strong feminine archetype. Come to think of it so does Michelle Obama.

So, as the muscle men make their last stand, taking the fight to the streets and making a mess of it all, women are emerging. It is women who will eventually lead us to a new paradigm.

I have a friend who just returned from Scotland and Germany. Both trips to visit family not merely as anonymous tourists...............SHe spent her fist 10 years in Scotland before her parents immigrated here, & I would label her political beliefs as toward socialism, but not active, surrounded by VERY progressive activist friends here.

I watched the Amy Goodman interview last week on PBS that she did from Tampa, in which she was discussing the role of Democracy Now, as it relates to the responsibility of the media to present ALL sides of an issue, instead of the ones they think best for the public's edification. An example of this, is the Universal Single Payer healthcare system, which is not being given any voice by the MSM, and which the public should know about, in order to make an unbiased decision about their healthcare.

And I don't want universal health care left in ONLY the allopathic system... the old cut n' sew & druggie guys. There should be PLENTY of room for the naturopaths, herbalists, chiropactics, etc.

And they will seek to sew things up in their corner only (just a little pun). ;O)
