Excellent! I read the Salon piece and it fits nicely into your article. But actually, we're moving from the Third Reich interlude (1980-2008) since the third Republic ended when Carter left. Obama's clearly a transition to something new, or the opportunity for something new. When they take the boot off of our neck, then citizens can do what's necessary.

There's much to study in this article and what comes out on Obama but this line is perfect: "Keep up the illusion of poverty for the majority of us and they might get the civil unrest the military so badly wants." We're not poor and the absence of dollars is no excuse for the "illusion." Bulls Eye! But this crowd, the grandees, thrive on illusion. The minute the lights are on, they're finito.

It won't be this year Guido, but the boot will come off in ways we cannot imagine. There will be a new world order for sure and it will be hard getting there. The reward will be that the powers that be fantasy won't end up the way they envisioned it in their think tanks. Get the book The Fourth Turning, that's where we are right now and Obama, after some fits and starts, will be that bridge to where we are going. I don't think he realizes that as yet, but that's not important. None of us actually realize what we are doing here or what we are supposed to be doing.

I sat here by myself at midnight and cried, just cried. There were fireworks and whoops and hollers all over this city, you could see and hear them everywhere and I cried. The last 8 years are over, yes we have a lot of work to do in cleaning up, but it's over, the last 28 years are over. Just watch the years from Reagan on fall, I cannot wait.

We've been here a long time Guido and we've marked everything including our silent screams, writing it all down, pointing out as much as we dared. It looks like the worst is ahead of us, but I think the worst is behind us, that's my fervent hope. They won't give up in their schemes to control everything and everyone but the people will more and more see what's happening and there will be people like you who continue to tell them and little by little we will turn away from the lies and illusions. Good lord in these last 8 years I've had kids finish school, three marry and 5 grandchildren and this crap just kept going. I never cared about extra terrestrials perhaps because I am indeed an earth spirit but this year I welcome the idea of advanced intelligence coming to help us and guide us until we mature. i know in my heart that we have been under a fascist government since Reagan was elected and boy what a success they had but like all evil it was short lived-doesn't take long for humans to realize that an attack on some is an attack on us. I agree Sally it isn't over yet but we will get there. I for one would welcome a period when we are no longer the champions but rather one of many countries/cultures.

My New Year's Day story fits right in with it.
I have been so busy with mundane tasks, ( too many), that my plants died out, for lack of water, and from soil fungus gnats. ( you are supposed to fill a spray bottle with soapy water and spray them and & I was just too busy!)
Except for my Grandmother in law's 80 year old asparagus fern, and my friend's mothers jade plant both needing little water.......
the peppers, chard, lettuce stevia all dried out.
In the kitchen window I have pot of red geraniums still with dried blossoms, and a dried yellow daisy, keeping it's color, ( hey, dried flowers are better than none right?)
Leaning over to look at the cat out the window...I noticed a tiny brilliant blue violet lobelia blossom hanging from the pot! ONE!
I planted those lobelia seeds in June! They never grew! The red geranium blossoms flourished with the rackish daisy, ( from the bird seed?)
all summer on the porch.........
ANd the stevia sent out new little plants.

They said the financial crisis is over, they've solved the problem with their influx of cash and the government has saved the United States economic problems. That gave me a good laugh; that article and the one underneath it where the Attorney General is asking Bush for protection for Cheney and Roberto Gonzales is writing a "tell-all" book. I never realized that rats jumping ship could be so loud. By Jan. 21st it will have all been Obama's fault.

I believe you are right on when you say that none of us truly realize (yet) what we are here for, but that some of us are about to come into our true selves and will awaken to the true reality and our purpose here on Earth at this time. The concentration of planets this year in Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) and Aquarius (ruled by Uranus and Saturn) and their opposition that will repeat another 4 times this year makes them the stars of this year's play. Not the best news for governments, financial institutions, corporations, in short any entity we see as foundational to getting on in life and improving our well being. Those groups have not been good stewards of our resources. Bernie Madoff was the first shock as Pluto hit Capricorn, he didn't even take his shoes off before he started kicking butt.

Back to Bernie, he's just the tip of the iceberg so to speak. China alone has had 276, 836 business' fail this last year. Corruption was one of the most used words last year and it will be this year too. We all need to learn how to expand our concept of our talents and skills (don't put QOP in charge of plants) because when our foundations start to fall some of us will fall with them. Uranus will provide the sudden unexpected shocks to these entities and we have to keep remembering that we are not part of these people's illusions. The solidly rich will be the most impacted and I think possibly the elderly unless we as a community step in. Something new will take the place of these falling and failing institutions and mid-level people (who are the ones to get things done) will benefit the most.

I totally agree with your thought that Obama is the bridge from the old way to the new way. I just hope the 'I want it now' generations can wait him out and not crucify him before the bridge is finished. Just like a construction project, it always seems to take forever to finish the layout and foundation stage. And what you initially see at the beginning sometimes doesn't make any sense until the building project is a little further along. Capricorn Pluto fits this analogy I think.

I particularly appreciated the part that dealt with the numerology of the #11, because my birth date also adds up to 11, so I'm in good company (hopefully), and hoping to have a better year than the past two. One of the reasons I thought Obama was going to be our next President was because of the affinity of 11 with 44, the number for the next President. It's probably a silly reason to base the outcome of the election on, but since it turned out that way, I hope he can do much towards healing the nation.

Back in 75, when I was a novice at astrology & tarot, at the request of the client, I was in Miami staying at my ex's condo, with the kids as well, to work on a mural. I tuned in to cspan to a delightful interview by Leslie Stahl of the Congressional Black Caucus members, on how they will interact with Pres. Obama.
Rewind; no-one has paid much attention to them for the past 5 years or so.
They are wonderful! In spite of chamblis' win in GA., their elected Representatives, John Lewis and Hank Johnson are level headed pragmatists, full of hope and wisdom, and Johnson has a wry sense of humor that sparks laughter.
I was reminded that my early pragmatism and wisdom, came from, not my Mother but my Black Nanny!
Her BIG boy Tex was Temple's most valued player, in 1955 and joined the Canadian Football League! ( found his obit online @ AP from 2002.)She was there through my formative years, and when I was 12, her cousin Stella was a live-in Nanny for the first 2 years of my baby brother's life.

Bush’s “double life”: George H. W. (“Poppy”) Bush, and many of his closest associates were deeply and secretly enmeshed in covert intelligence activities which he has gone to great lengths to conceal. JFK and Bay of Pigs: Poppy Bush was deeply involved with an array of CIA covert operators, Bay of Pigs veterans and right-wing Texas oil industry characters linked to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Baker shows that Bush was actually in Dallas on November 21, 1963, and was probably there on the day of the assassination as well. Watergate: Baker asserts that (much to his own surprise) Richard Nixon, while not innocent, was not the instigator of the Watergate crimes and cover-up, but appears to have been set up. CIA & Watergate: In a related point, Baker notes that Nixon suspected the CIA of infiltrating his White House staff. Nixon recognized the Watergate burglars from his own days supervising covert operations as vice president in the Eisenhower administration, and knew that their bosses were seasoned CIA hardliners with ties to the Bay of Pigs invasion and events linked to the assassination of JFK. Nixon battled the CIA for files on what he called the “Bay of Pigs thing,” but never could get access to them. (To paraphrase Woody Allen: just because Nixon was paranoid, doesn’t mean they were not out to get him.)

Bob Woodward: Baker questions the integrity and independence of famed Watergate reporter Bob Woodward of the Washington Post who, he reports, had been recommended for his job by senior Nixon White House officials who had known him when he worked in Naval intelligence prior to becoming a reporter. In that capacity, which Woodward denies he held, he was a frequent visitor to the White House.

The Saudi Royal Family: Baker details the Bush family’s personal, political, and business connections to the Saudi royal family; and to apparent international slush funds and money-laundering schemes. I have always suspected John Dean-I was around during those intense day. He was quite slimey in his younger days.

Jane Harmon is a piece of work, she's worked really hard to get back on the good side of the progressives, who were derailing her re-election/primary last year. I believe she wrote a letter of protest regarding torture and rendition issues so she may have covered her tush, but she still enabled Bush even if they were sworn to secrecy. Leon Panetta is from my neck of the world, Monterrey Bay he's been pretty outspoken about torture. I would love to see them clean house and dump all the dirt in the sunlight for the world to see.

I do intend to read The Fourth Turning. Just looked up the reviews on the book. I must say, however, that it appears to be one more book describing the everlasting usual phallic "risings n' fallings" of patriarchy... another self-centered psycho/sexual/spiritual litany of the acting-out pink fella predominantly... also attended by the usual blasting of trumpets & fanfare "climax." 2. In connection with the infrastructure projects, institute apprenticeships, and ensure that at least 1/3 of the positions go to women.
