ASHES ASHES WE ALL FALL DOWN

It feels like we are playing ring around the rosie, but not even the pocket full of posies can cover the stench of what's going on right now and we are all falling down on this one.

The initial 1929 Stock Market crash was on Black Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1929 but the beginning of the crash was on October 24, 1929 at 11:00 AM, Black Thursday and the actual low came in 1932; the markets went into a slide in April 1931 and did not end that slide until July 8th 1932. It was not until 1954, a full 18 years until the market went above it's 1929 pre-crash levels. When the markets closed on July 8th 1932 the market had lost 89 percent of it's pre-crash value, the lowest since the 19th Century. Guess who led the government charge in 1929 to "stabilize" the market; the Rockefellers, the heads of Morgan Bank, Chase and National City Bank (now Citibank) Do these people ring any bells.

There was an investigation by Congress and it was concluded that speculators, lack of regulation, banks and financial institutions too eager to put deposits at risk in the Stock Market and finally the ultimately cause they decided collapse of the banking system during three waves of panics over the course of three years, 1930, 1931, 1932. The country at last learned that it was all a part of the "known" economic boom and bust cycle one must expect, just a historical event. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Considering the families and banks involved in 1929 and the massive fortunes they added to the already massive fortunes gained from the 1907 Panic and the 1887 Panic (sort of like the 1987 Panic at the end of Reagan's Term of office) all the same people all the same banks and the exact same type of responses to the crisis; bailout, sell, buy while the masses grab hold of a twig in the hole they've been thrown and spend 20 years trying to climb out. This is their own personal game of Monopoly that was brought over from Europe and goes back to Holland's "Tulip Boom" of 1637, thought to be the world's first "bubble." I doubt if it was but it did seem to be the beginning of the boom and bust period of history with the same family names involved then as there is now.

It's for certain they have become more adept and expanded the ways and means but it's still the same game, only the players on the board (us) change, the families remain the same.

The energy of the Universe in relationship to the revolving planets impacts everyone, no matter their "assumed" station in life and nothing can be done to us as long as we stay out of fear and don't give our power away. I agree that it's not so easy to do but it can be done.

There isn't a doubt Wall Street is falling or changing or something, but astrology points to it being Wall Street that suffers most at least for the next several months maybe even years, partly because Wall Street has no imagination period.

The oncoming Mars/Neptune square, Saturn/Uranus opposition looks like a freight train coming down the track just as the Saturn/Pluto opposition in 2001, only this freight train looks to be targeted totally toward Wall Street as they await the next "Tulip Boom" when one tulip reached a price of 20 times the annual salary of a skilled laborer.

The next "boom" will be natural gas, new medical innovation, and alternative energy and the country with the most imagination and "verve" will be the country leading the way becoming the next super power. The cycles start with innovation and the first people to jump on that innovation and make it real are the first winners, after that, the bankers take over and everyone has a wild ride with prices and speculation driven up beyond a healthy level and then there is the crash with the bankers moping up what's left of the original innovative idea. Technology was the "innovation" and the cause of the most recent bubble and the US led in that area for the last 80 years and became a world power due to our financial success, we let the military grow out of fear that someone would come here and take what we think we own away from us, we are still afraid.

While we are dithering in this country over whether we want to elect a black man or an old man, we should be looking at whether we want to elect a person with imagination or a person all out of ideas because right now the "new" 80 year boom cycle is in the works someplace, just bubbling up and America doesn't have any leaders to nurture or allow an atmosphere in which it can grow. Will the Saturn/Uranus opposition throw the world into the old restrictions or will it look toward the future?

Saturn/Uranus is already working restrictions on Wall Street and other global markets which have seen corporations go from no regulations to being so over regulated they will have a hard time breathing. Everyone is looking for the "Golden Ratio and not until that is tapped will we begin to see who might be the coming "super-power" and world domination into the future.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio

Considering the "Obama/Biden" rise and his popularity vs the falling interest in McCain/Palin
this country is trying to get to that bubbling imagination and innovation just under the surface. At least the collective is resonating on a deep level to a new level of growth as the old is trying to make way for the new. It's interesting to me that each ticket has the appearance of a "new and old" face, but one is moving ahead while the other is falling behind. We, the people, are sub-consciously trying to determine who we can lead into the 21st Century and who will drags us back into the past which is now gone. Look how we've been floundering around for 8 years with the old pardigm, now we have to decide to keep floundering or look for fresh waters.

I am not as familiar with Asian leadership as I am with European leadership but right now the western world is struggling to find the new just as we are struggling to find the new and Europe is looking toward the US elections to help them find their own "golden ratio."

The next major planetary alignment will be the Saturn/Pluto then Uranus/Pluto all between now and 2012 we will all need to pull out our imagination. We can let the focus on the minutia let out mind wander to the macrocosm and the bigger picture of what is happening. Seeing the patterns of the past and the patterns of the future can help to make better decisions in the present. Now we get to see if the collective need to be able to fill a hole left by the technological boom of the last 80 plus years with something new, we weren't able to do it in 2004 but perhaps now.

Sally - Thanks for the new informative post!
Looking forward to a bright future is the second verse to that old rhyme:

cows are in the meadow
eating buttercups
thunder lightning
we all stand up!

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

'The next "boom" will be natural gas, new medical innovation, and alternative energy'

I saw on the news yesterday, that the next "gold rush" is for natural gas in upstate NY. Apparently they discovered a big field of natural gas below the surface of all that beautiful farmland. The drilling companies can't wait to get their hands on it, so they can "drill, drill, drill" - that is if they could convince the farmers to sell, sell, sell(sounds like Wall Street). The Catskills is a pristine part of upstate NY, which supplies most of the drinking water to the state, and the farming community is worried about the contamination of the springs, lakes, and rivers, once the drilling begins. Goodbye organic farming.

Here is a link for the pictures of John McCain's BC. You may have to copy and paste it. I will put a shortened link after the original.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

We used to play that game when we were kids, holding hands in a circle, chanting - "ring o' ring o' roses, pocket full of posies, ash ash, ash ash, we all fall down". Wasn't aware of a second verse. Looking back now, it seems kind of a silly game, as so many of them were in those days. Can you imagine trying to get today's kids to play those kinds of games?

person [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Older toddlers and pre-schoolers still enjoy Ring Around the Rosie!
The second verse movements are:

squatting (cows are in the meadow eating buttercups)
pounding the ground (thunder / lighning)
jumping up (we all stand up)

... which leads to holding hands, forming another ring and doing it again - a lively repetitive loop.

And here we go round the zodiac, hopefully in a spiral with increased awareness and compassion.

The birth certificate for John McCain was presented as evidence in the U. S. District Court of New Hampshire along with other documents. Copies of the documents and directions to where the originals may be obtained can be found here:

http://johnmccain.dominates.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=145

From that site.

"McCain seems to have used a lot of deception to hide where he was born but I have secure the attachments from the U.S. District Court of New Hampshire under the Documents file of case number 1:08-cv-00009 for Fred Hollander vs. McCain and RNC. You have to have a pacer file number to go into the file which can be secured at For Account Information: https://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/psclogin.pl and then you can go into the website https://ecf.nhd.uscourts.gov and then go down to document twenty. "

Also:

"However, plaintiff does recognize this Court's authority and hereby submits a copy of McCain's birth certificate6 (see attached), issued by the Panama Canal Health Department to this Court for review. This document was provided by Don Lamb, the legal representative of the Panama Railroad Company, which recorded McCain's birth . Don Lamb attests by affidavit (see attached) that the Panama Railroad Company recorded the live birth of John Sidney McCain III in the city of Colon, Panama. "

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Wow! I never knew the 2nd verse, person. But boy does it ever resonate with me.
In a past life experience, I was the only person standing (alive; in my immediate vicinity.)after the London Plague. I was standing in a meadow
( cows eating buttercups) It was a dairy farm, bright sunny day, and off in a distance I could see the smoke rising in London from the funeral pyres and smudge pots they lit attempting to drive away the plague! WHen the person conducting the hypntherapy saw the tears streaming down my cheeks she brought me back to the present........I survived; at great loss, but I survived!
I have ancestors, who have survived the crash of 170(8?) South Seas Bubble; 185(3?); GRANDFATHER 1907 ? 1929? which traumatized him, because he was intensely gloom & doom in the late 40's early 50's, that we were headed for the poorhouse ( we were more than well off, He gave us each energy stocks at birth!) It scared ME so that I went door to door in the neighborhood selling tempera painted christmas motifs for peoples picture windows ( 50's)and with mars in capricorn, part of the bargin was a post holiday window washing.
I made $25.00. Not bad for a 12 year old in 1951!
Did you hear Hillary say yesterday..
"We will rise from the ashes of the Bushes."
A great essay Sally!

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The historical context just gives me shivers, Sally. It's beyond theoretical, but based in fact and with those same entities who subvert the principles of health and happiness in order to feed on misery. They've fed us diviseness, pitting one race, one culture, one religion against the other. They've pitted men against women and vice versa. Instead of education, we've received propaganda -- some of which i'm still sorting through some sixty years later.

I refuse to become a part of the despair they keep shoving down our throats. And, frankly, so are a number of others. They ARE preparing. They ARE looking for those new innovative ways of investing in the future, primarily green techonologies. In the meantime, we have to find a way to share the truth of living kindly and gently on this earth. Perhaps it is though living by example, for far too often, we end up "preaching to the choir." Maybe we infiltrate the schools? Maybe we infiltrate the churches?

Thanks, Sally. This was a great read!

Re: John Mc Cain's birth certificate:

I guess what most astrologers are looking for, is a TIME on the birth certificate. I couldn't discern a time on any of those documents, even when examining them with the Windows magnifier. Maybe someone with better vision than mine can spot the time he was born on the b.c.

Save the above link to play on Election Night
when Obama becomes President-Elect.....

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Crystal go to this site http://johnmccain.dominates.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=145 and scroll down to the 5th post click on that to McCain BC you can enlarge it easily and on the 2nd page it has his birthtime clearly marked as 6:25pm.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Bob Nicewander, has the court decided anything? The Constitution does not allow Naturalized citizens to be president (naturalized meaning that they become a citizen through the court and not by birth). Also, it seems that it doesn't matter WHERE McCain was born as long as one of his parents was an American citizen. I may be wrong on this but I think the lawsuit is frivolous and a distraction.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, by my calculations, the 6:25 p.m. time gives him a 6 Pisces ascendant. Would that be good or bad?

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks Sally, I saw it.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Teresa, 6 Pisces is what I get.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Did anyone else see David Frum on Rachael Maddow show? What a sh_t! His governing idea is the threat to US from the OTHER ( Muslms) Can't see the threat in the Mccain rabid supporters........or our criminal incursions that make it worse.
Ole Davey one note!
It was fascinating to actually hear one of the neo-cons discussing their ideology. We've read their words heard them quoted, but to have a debate develop in real time was interesting.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

A word just came to me that describes John Mc Cain - rickety. Saturn rules the bones, so I was wondering with Saturn rising in his chart, if he suffers with arthritis. He looks as though he creaks when he moves. Maybe it's because I myself am so tired, and need to turn in.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

When I watched David Frum I kept thinking of an old saying one of my teachers used. "The last bastion of ignorance is arrogance."

Gina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yes, I did see Rachel's interview with David Frum. It was amazing to watch how she ever so politely picked him apart. And then some.

I read that the McCain case was thrown out of court on the grounds that the plaintiff didn't have standing in the case. I've also read that some astrologers are still questioning the authenticity of the birth certificate, but the judge didn't.

Stan [TypeKey Profile Page]:

THE OCTOBER SURPRISE?

Breaking news -- a copy of John McCain's birth certificate has been found and gives a birth time of 6:25 pm. It looks official*. The certificate was found by a conspiracy group attempting to prove that McCain was born outside of the proper U.S. territory (disqualifying him to run for president), and shows his birth place to be Colon, Panama instead of the Coco Solo Air Force Base.

http://www.stariq.com/Main/Articles/P0009034.HTM

Is it possible he may get the heave?

Stan

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The last bastion of ignorance is arrogance."
perfect description!
Interesting that both candidates qualifications to run for Pres. based on their birthplace, is questioned so closely! Isn't being born to US citizens qualification enough?

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"Isn't being born to US citizens qualification enough?"

I thought so qop, but it seems there are some questions regarding when that became a law and when it did what parts of the world it covered. It's not an automatic I guess.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I can't find anything on their website...but Rick Sanchez, is taking about palin's connection to the AIP. He interviewed Salon.com's David Neiwart who wrote about it with Max Blumenthal
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/10/10/palin_chryson/index.html
They are looking for candidate from other parties (pref Repig) to INFILTRATE!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hickel's ( Nixon's former SECT of the Int.)subsequent failure as governor to press for a vote on Alaskan independence rankled Old Joe. With sponsorship from the
Islamic Republic of Iran,
Vogler was scheduled to present his case for Alaskan secession before the United Nations General Assembly in the late spring of 1993. But before he could, Old Joe's long, strange political career ended tragically that May when he was murdered by a fellow secessionist.

Ok, I got the link to McCain's birth time.
Did the chart and the solar return. He still doesn't win the election. Sixth house to the ascendent. Health conditions again...or the military BS; ruler of the Solar Return MC square transiting Pluto, the South Node of the chart opposed to Chiron...and Neptune on the descendent, also touching the Progressed MC.
This is the second time a candidate's chart doesn't fit the life experience of the candidate. I still think the chart of Obama is incorrect and I think this chart is wrong. But I saw both birth certificates, and I will have to go with them. I still use the other charts to make predictions. Either way...McCain doesn't win. Barring great misfortune and chicanery at the poles, or just downright fraud...Obama wins.
Thanks for your efforts Mr. Nicewander.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Did anybody watch Frontline on PBS tonight? It was a very interesting collage of the two presidential candidates, their backgrounds, and events leading up to their decision to run, interviews with those close to them, etc. I learned a few things, not previously known, like Bill Clinton openly supported Bobby Rush against Obama, in his bid for the Illinois Senate, and they showed a clip of Mc Cain's first wife after the disfiguring automobile accident. It was weird, but she looked as if she too had returned from the war in Vietnam, part of the walking wounded. Believe it or not, she was walking just like John Mc Cain. It was a very well put together documentary.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

In the 1946 election between Truman and Dewey, the pollsters wanted Truman to win, so they faked Dewey's numbers to be really high in an effort to get people to believe Dewey would win and they didn't come out in droves to vote, the result was Truman won. They admitted this in the late 50's and it took Gallup (one of the pollsters) 30 years to get their reputation back.

I wonder with the sudden high poll numbers on Obama if the same slight of hand is being tried now, in any case every needs to keep encouraging people to get out and vote anyway in this historic election

Old Mayfly [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks, Sally, for your analysis. The little guys and gals will always be taken advantage of in a populous society unless they are informed and united. The internet sure has helped with that.

Sometimes I think of my ancestors, peeking out from their wattle huts at my friend's ancestors, who were in armor and on horseback busy stealing castles. My ancestors probably were resigned and didn't feel they had to do anything about it.

A democracy lays a heavy responsibility on its citizens.

Been looking at Obama's and McCain's charts--there sure are a lot of connections. I counted five close conjunctions: McC Sun/Ob Pluto; McC moon/Ob Jupiter; McC Venus/Ob Mars; McC Mars/OB Sun; McC Pluto/Ob Mercury. There are two oppositions: McC Saturn opposite Ob Mars; and McC Uranus opposite Ob Neptune.

Was it Claudia Dinkins who did the research indicating that the winning presidential candidate was the one with vertex closest to his mid-heaven? Unless I muddled up (which I often do) it looks like both Obama and McCain have vertex about 77 degrees from their respective MCs.

If these two charts were poker hands, Obama certainly has the stronger hand.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I have my popcorn ready to pop tonight and will monitor the conversation here while watching the debate. Too bad, my doctor wants my cholesterol down so I can't have butter. Hope to see some of you online tonight.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Teresa too bad about the butter. I'll be here watching, I can go outside and howl at the moon when McInsane makes me nuts.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Checking in..............I have some imitation butter flavored popcorn salt. It works pretty well.
Don't know how healthy it is but I don't think it adds cholesterol....................
Did I hear Mathews on Hardball, say the mcacain people have pulled out of Maine?
COuld it be because of the phone survey they did yesterday? One from VA headquarters one from Maine Repig hqts.I told both that I was voting straight Dem, then launched into my best shock & awe, Raging Grannie, diatribe. To their credit they heard me out.
I called VA back this AM to defend John Lewis saying neither mccain or palin was experienced enough, with the terrible results of incendiary hate talk; mccain having been a POW at the time and palin not yet born. I observed that John Lewis had endured a similar hell, then to the POW experience! We did part the conversation on very cordial terms I am happy to say!
It's interesting......the old fashioned phone is a great way to have a direct dialogue, with feed back!

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Well the moon is sitting on McInsane's Uranus, and t. Mars is opposing Uranus...may be he will froth at the mouth. Course then Uranus is still sitting on his n. Saturn and Saturn is sitting on his n. Neptune. Saturn in Virgo, nit pick, nit nit nit, I don't think McInsane will do very well tonight. Transiting Mercury also lights the fuse to the Moon conjunct Uranus, foot in mouth disease, speaking one's mind before thinking.

Obama has Mars conjunct his Neptune, will be interesting to see if he can forcefully project his vision for leading us back up the cliff. Uranus is forming an opposition with O man's n. Mars, lots of wild energy about.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yeah right, John. I don't believe you.

Hello everyone.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Anyone know a plumber that makes 250,000. per year? If so is he married?

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

McCain coming out of the gate is being disgusting and whiny. How pathetic!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Excellent point, qop.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

McCain is out of control...already.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Obama has been consistent and on point in all three debates. McCain goes from being "good cop" in one debate to "McNasty" in the next. Where's the media to call him out on this?

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Doesn't sound like McCain is doing himself any favors. Schiefer is actually going after him, well I'll been darned.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

He sounds like he's pleading now. He wants the Presidency soooo bad.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

HATCHET/SCALPAL.......that BEEN Obama's line for moths.Copy cat !

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

He's not President Bush... He's right. McCain is even worse.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

months

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

McCain is very desperate.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I am going outside to scream now.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Is it me or is McCain just irritating this time? He's not presidential. He's just disgusting.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Is it me or is McCain actually getting more talk time?

McCain is doing his best to sound hurt because of the George Wallace analogy that he totally mischaracterizes. Got my hankie out. Boo Hoo.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

He is he is HE IS! Associated with incendiary tactics!
I guess that kid in VA didn't pass on the word from me this morning!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I stayed in & screamed at the TV! scared the cat!

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm biased but I think Obama is cleaning McCain's proverbial clock.

I called the election board last week and complained about the old ladies at my polling place insisting on driver's licenses only. They said they would look into it. I don't think they believed me.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

poor kitty cat, qop! My dogs just rolled over and kept snoring when I yelled at the tv. Did Obama just tell McCain to not interrupt?

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yes....he's getting pissed.HE 's going to lose it tonight!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Obama just nailed him hard, and McCain knows it. He totally busted him on Palin's rallies.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

mccain not the cat!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

And Obama keeps coming back to the issues. McCain keeps trying to distract.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Go home, John. Please, just go home.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

He got mad enough to go Ayers!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I am going to have to call his campaign headquarters tomorrow!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

McCain is so very sad. He's exactly why his party is falling apart.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I just switched to CNNto see the graph!

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

There is absolutely nothing to the accusations about ACORN and Ayers. Are they that desperate that they are trying to make something out of nothing?

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yep, Teresa. They sure are.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

McCain: Americans have gotten to know Sarah Palin...

Me: ...through Tina Fey!

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

qop, how does your cat react to hysterical laughter? i.e., Palin is a role model for women!!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The line dropped but the men like palin better than the women.
WHen either candidate mentions energy the graph goes up especially the men!

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

NEO, that's great! ROFLMAO

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I don't know I was dumbstruck.he's sleeping peacefully!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Why does it seem like McCain is getting so much more talk time?

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Or maybe he's just talking out of turn.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Nuclear power plants done't they take 6-8 years to build ( how in a spending freeze?)

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Seriously, I do not like that McCain tries to interrupt. He just corrected the moderator. And he does not like to give up the floor. Maybe I want to see it, but he appears desperate. I don't think he actually believes everything he is saying. Obama is, as in the other two debates, cool and calm. He is explaining things, not dictating to us. If I thought I could do it, I would call Obama's campaign office and beg for a job in his White House. The hope he projects is almost palpable and I am like a moth to the fire.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I can't believe I just said all that.

NeoBuckeye, McCain is getting more talk time. Really irritating.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

He is a spoiled brat he is taking the time! I hate his little black pin point eyes with the triangular black brows!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Put health care records on line so everyone can see them? Yeh right!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Joe the Plumber's ego must be pretty big right now.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I can't wait to talk to MY plumber Al tomorrow!

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I am now officially screaming silently in my head. Where on earth do you get a health care plan for only $5800?

If Joe the Plumber has red hair, he's mine.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Did Morgana ever come back inside from screaming?

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Wasn't Judge Breyer there before Obama became a Senator?

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh Teresa NO, the redheads are mine!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

12 minutes after... 18 left. This has been a long debate. Or maybe it's just McCain's rudeness and arrogance that has made it this way.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

oh I'm here, I want to smack that smirk off his face, decrepit old man.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

More power to you, Morgana.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Is he huffing like Al Gore did?

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh boy the graph dropped from the top to the bottom when mccian talked!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

GEEEEEZZZUSSSSS Get the warriors to teach t he KIDS? PSTD inthe classromm???

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I liked Obama's response on abortions. No one likes them. I wish he had asked Sen. McCain if he was willing to encourage his wealthy friends to adopt or help a single mom or dad take care of the mostly poor children who are born. That's the part that always gets me. As long as they are in the womb, the children are extremely important. Once they emerge, it's like they aren't there or they are someone else's problem. Hypocrits!!

I'll arm wrestle for the redheads, qop.

Morgana, McCain's smirky smile has always given me the creeps.

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"As long as they are in the womb, the children are extremely important. Once they emerge, it's like they aren't there or they are someone else's problem. Hypocrits!!"

My thoughts exactly, Teresa.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

WHat I love about this site, our ideas are so in line! I've already had 2 redheads...YOU? Teresa?
Mc didn't CHOOSE adoption Cindy Suprised him with Bridget!

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Out of respect for Sally, I won't say what I really think about McCain.

But it rhymes with "Red Mole".

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sadly, qop, I have only aspired to red hair myself. One of my early boyfriends had gorgeous red hair. My father had red hair as did all of his Ostrowski relatives. So I'm fascinated with red hair. What can I say?

I don't know if I can stand the next 18 days. I want so much for Obama to win and I will be absolutely crushed if he doesn't. I went into a deep funk after Kerry conceded. Same with
Gore.

This was a good debate and I still Obama won hands down.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OK, Joe is yours! I was married to a redhead for 16 years ( sort of W like character, tho not a murderer.....) And I have a redheaded Grandaughter as a result! ( My Brother too)
Neo I will be up all night trying to figure out what rytmes with redmole!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh I GOT IT! ____hole!

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

On MSNBC, both Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow are saying McCain blew it when he mocked Obama for wanting to include a provision for the health of the mother. Rachel said it was McCain worst debate. I have to agree.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Then Greenspan's HAndmaiden thinks mc was strong!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

CNN is interviewing CLinton........hope I didn't miss her opinion.
mccain/palin are soooo much worse than bush cheney!
Noone is mentioning mccain's idea to put the returning soldiers into the classrooms with out certification training!
They have in the last few years.loosened the standards for recruiting........ BAD IDEA!

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Good night, everyone. I'm going to listen to KO before going to bed. May we get the president we want this time.

Thank you, Sally for providing this forum for us debate junkies.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I was just reading all the debate posts, and you ladies had me in stitches! Morgana, you were so right about the nit nit nitpicking....typical of Virgo(afflicted) McCain. I had to join you in screaming several times, but since I live alone, and no pets, I was able to scream freely inside. McCain was just irritating the hell out of me, and Obama as always, too much the gemtleman. I wanted him to keep rudely interrupting Mc Cain, the way Mc Cain was doing to him, and Schieffer just let Mc Cain go on and on with his petty complaints. Arrrggghh!!! Here's the big difference - Obama, magnamimous, thinks big, able to see big picture. Mc Cain, puny, small-minded, petty, nitpicking. Glad I don't have to listen to him drone on and on again. It's too painful listening - he is definitely too old and decrepit to be president.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Agreed! Good night all great comments all!

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm glad you heard that too QOP - about making the members of the Military teachers without any type of training. What a ridiculous idea! Old Sourpuss is totally unhinged. I might have to change his name to Crazy Old Sourpuss, or Demented Old Sourpuss. Whatever. I just can't imagine him in the White House running amok. They might have to put him in a strait jacket.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Watching KO now. Good night folks, still early on the West Coast so I'm up checking polls, looks good for Obama.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sorry to be late checking in, I really needed to decompress. I could not even do the astrology on this debate chart. Does anyone want to discuss "Joe the plumber?" With one of my children I went through 20 hours of agonizingly painful life threating labor. When it was over and we were both alive I considered it one of my greatest life's efforts. I was wrong, listening to these debates especially this one tonight was my greatest effort. I thought I would scream, I couldn't even talk, I felt like I couldn't even breath. The thought of that petty, mean spirited, nasty small minded little man being president makes me sick. Neo don't hold back because of me.

My disgust over this debate and McCain absolutely takes my breath away. Was I the only one who thought he was about to explode. Morgana said to me that she thought Obama must have nerves of steel not to hurl at that guy and I agree.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

ps. I saw this on mudflats.wordpress.com/
The repig group.........
Winken Blinken & Todd!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

And yes Sally........unthinkable!
I was sorry he didn't explode. THat would have pretty much finished it!

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I cannot stand Buchanan. Such a twisted soul.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Disgust is the right word Sally.
Obama has the patience of Job. I would have kicked Mc Cain to the curb, since I'm very short on patience myself. I hated the way he was sneering at Obama. Seems like he was obssessed with "Joe the Plumber". He kept re-introducing him into the conversation, even when it was irrelevant. And as QOP said, I don't know of any plumber who earns 250 grand a year. Mc Nasty just made an ass of himself. I don't know how anybody could take that demented old man seriously. I would so enjoy seeing him lose.

Stan [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Any estimate of how many women voters he's just lost?

Joan Walsh
http://www.salon.com/opinion/walsh/election_2008/2008/10/16/mccain_loses_again/

"But he couldn't control his sarcasm. His worst move was ridiculing Obama's support for abortion rights measures that protect "the health of the mother." He sneered out the words, "health of the mother," and actually framed them in air quotes. His standing with women was already plummeting; watch it drop more from here."

NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Okay then, Sally... he's an asshole. But of course you knew that. McCain probably showed his true colors more so tonight than during any of the previous debates or at any other point during the campaign.

If his rudeness and childish, even outright belligerent behavior towards Obama tonight was any indication as to how he would interact with world leaders, we would all be plunged head-first into World War III within mere weeks of his inauguration. John McCain is so unworthy of the Presidency he makes even Bush look preferable in the White House by comparison, and that is just wrong.

I'm glad you had fun figuring out my riddle though, qop. ;-)

I agree that Obama must have nerves of steel. He has never once lost his cool in the face of McCain's increasingly disgusting attitude and tactics towards him throughout this campaign. And that fact alone probably only irritates McCain even more. Obama has successfully taken the high road, and everything McCain has done negative to try and bring Obama down, has only backfired and hurt McCain instead.

Obama's levelheadedness should serve him, and us, very well in the coming years.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks Stan for that Joan Walsh article, it was great and I wondered the same thing "how many women did he lose." I swear I don't know what's wrong with McCain, but something is and it is amazing to me how many in the MSM seem to be trying to cover for him or feel sad for him. I think it must be painful for his old friends to watch this campaign. On one hand it's tragic and on the other there are actually people out there ready to vote these people into the presidency and vice presidency of the United States of America. I even know some of them.

qop, the mudflats article had me rolling off my chair, it's been a long time since I laughed so hard.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Neo,I do think that if McCain had another 15 minutes on that stage with Obama he would have had a real meltdown. In some ways I think the guy sold his soul to be President and is having a very hard time coming to grips with the war inside, plus I understand he is on medication and who knows how that is interacting. It's hard to let go and be moved "off stage" and I think he felt so close to this but knows it won't happen. He is however moving closer and closer to being a sad shuffling old man who threw his legacy away.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The Joan Walsh article was very good as were the 14 pages of comments!

Old Mayfly [TypeKey Profile Page]:

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks all for the comic relief this morning. I was so blown away by McCain's overt racism, accusing Obama of class warfare -- what? on the wealthy? He so worked himself into a rage, that on several occasions he had to take this audible deep breath -- involuntary, but telling. On several issues, he made no sense whatsoever, returning again and again to worn cliches. Then, that frightening grin. Ghoulish. Perfect Halloween material, some very scary *hit.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I was bored by the debate and my computer is in another room from the TV.
I so agree with Stan above about McCain sneering about the 'health of the mother'. He confirmed my every intuition on this issue-the pro-lifers want woman punished for sex. What a hideous lover that old coot must have been-I am assuming that those days are over for him. I imagine that he demanded abortion when some woman in his life turned up pregnant at an inconvenient time but is publically against especially for the lower classes.
Sally-bless you for your compassion. I think my natural compassion will return when McCain is safely off stage. I am stilll shocked by his plain old racism ( the toxic crap I grew up with) his contempt for all those not born to wealth and on and on.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Gina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I didn't do a chart on this last debate, but I did check out some of the transits for each of the candidates. I was a little worried for Obama with the moon sqaring his Sun, along with some challenging Mars transits, but he came through them with flying colors--especially at the last two thirds of the debate, when they finally started talking about issues.

McSame had some helpful aspects, but also the potential to self-destruct--and when it came down to abortion, and McCain sneering about the "health" of the mother, he did not disappoint. The CNN poll question that asked "Who spent more time attacking his opponent?"--McCain won "that one" hands down, 80 to 7--was very telling. It was also the only thing that McCain won.

I'm so glad these debates are over, and I'm so glad that it looks like we're really going to elect the grown-up, and the smart guy, for a change.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I had fun with the debate last night (and, qop, Joe the Plumber is bald) but the next 18 days could get even nastier. By now, McCain has to know that people just don't like him and his ONLY possible card left to play is on national security. I don't normally subscribe to conspiracy theories but I wouldn't put it past the Republicans to fake some national security emergency or provoke a real one.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I just saw the Joe the Plumber video. He was being interviewed by Diana Sawyer(Good morning America). He lives in Ohio, and at the end of the interview, Diane Sawyer kept asking him "Who are you going to vote for?" Duh, obviously from everything he said in the interview, he would be voting for Mc Cain. He tried to paint Obama as a socialist. Could have been a set-up by the Repigs, that's why Old Sourpuss kept bringing him up in last night's debate.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Obama advises against over-confidence:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081016/pl_nm/us_usa_politics

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I agree, don't get over confident, but it is at this point hard not to laugh. The fact that "Joe the Plumber" is now part of pop culture says so many sad things about our media (by the way the name of my first love was Joe and now they have ruined that name for me, oh well we have to let go sometime.)I thought when McCain and Obama both looked into the camera and started talking to "Joe" that it was a good thing there wouldn't be anymore debates because we had reached the apex of insanity. I can hardly wait to see what Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert do with this one, in fact all the comedians should have a field day with it.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yes Crystal, and Obama was one step ahead of mccaine on Joe the Plumber when he looked directly at HIM & talked to HIM.
Hopefully he can continue to stay one step ahead.
He knows th ese dirty tricks!

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

DIdn't Joe SIxpack already compromise that name Sally?

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

lol I have Joe the Mechanic in my neck of the world.

Oh McCain's whineing was just too weenie'ish, giant waaah.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, will the allegations of voter registration fraud against ACORN have an effect on the election? From what I've seen, the feds are getting really into this one even if it trumped up.

NOLASharon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I agree with you, Gina et al.

I'd like to share my take on the debate for whatever it's worth.

I don't hate McCain. I feel sympathy for him (as I believe Obama does - but at the same time, he wouldn't trust him). McCain came out and for the first time really greeted Obama WARMLY. I think his strategists coached him to be positive and warm BUT get in those jabs and attacks at every chance. And, he did. He even managed to get in the word "terrorist" as in "I don't pay attention to some old washed-out terrorist" so he could sound like he's dismissed the idea but still make the association at the same time. Coldly devious.

He is damn good at being sneaky and shrewd. There were a few times when the sincere, honorable John McCain shown through. Other than that, we got to see his very devious, hypocritical persona. When he brought up a few times the idea that people are afraid, varying it, his voice dripped, absolutely dripped with a horrible coating of false sympathy! Someone on DU's spiritual and astrology thread does aura analysis and said a few weeks back that there is a core of caring in McCain but he mostly functions on the level of an agressive fighter and, in fact, thrives on it. Well that came through loud and clear. His expressions, smirking and sneering, looking like an excited little, archtypical villian with glittering eyes (only the long black mustache was missing) every time Obama was talking and McCain thought of a new attack were almost funny if they weren't sad. His repetition of Joe the Plumber's name, and "spread the wealth" and his need for an apology for what John Lewis said about him (what a bad actor!) as well as for all the terrible & untrue ads Barack put out about him (talk about turning the tables) made him seem like a childish, churlish old man, not an adult. It is obvious McCain is a consumate politician as he pulled out his entire bag of tricks and he did it well, except for the sad, over-the-hill old man part. If he were younger, this contest might be more equal. As it is, he is now almost a schizophrenic multip personality, sometimes the good John, sometimes the sociopathic John. Now Republicans, even Rove, are talking about McCain's chances being slim (but not impossible they say). I just hope they are not hiding their plans to steal the election behind that ruse. What the aura-reader said about Obama is what we would expect - he is a spiritual and inspired leader. He functions on a high level. He had a bit of hard time with McCain's attacks and I was just a little disappointed that he didn't come back at him stronger, as he must have known that McCain had a boxing match planned. But Obama stuck to his story and his truth, with dignity and poise, and his light shown through, slow and steady. When McCain gave Barack a sincere-sounding "good job" and an embrace when it was over, and then smiled more broadly at the audience than I have seen him do in a long time, I sensed that he felt pleased with his performance, that he may have felt that he won, but that most of all, he was relieved as we all were that this was the last debate.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I forgot to mention in the debate last night that Mc Cain was green with envy when he kept bringing up all the money Obama had at his disposal to run ads. He was probably wishing it was he who had it. Here's an example of how Obama's spending some of that money.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sorry.cspan is over........

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

That was so unexpected, and I just roared, they were both pretty funny.

Back to Rachel.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I thought they were both pretty funny. I did like Obama's joke on his middle name "that it was given to him by someone who never thought he was going to run for President." And his first name "Barak actually means "that one" in Swahili" and the one where he said "he actually was not born in a manager but on Krypton." But both men were very funny I thought and I've heard Al Smith was a much beloved Governor, wonder what would have happened if he had won in 1928 instead of Hoover.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Well well well look what I found. It was posted in the Huffpo comments on the Smith dinner.

The lavishly-furnished custom Boeing 727 airliner (727PX) which ferried Senator John McCain on four occasions during his Presidential run in 2000 also flew Saudi Royals out of the U.S. right after 9/11, carrying an entourage of Saudi Royals from Las Vegas to London six days after the 9/11 attack in a controversial operation later scrutinized by the 9/11 Commission.

The 727 figures in the current tempest over his relationship with female lobbyist Vicki Iseman, who provided and flew with McCain on the plane.

With hundreds of air charter companies and airliners to choose from, the Saudis chose a company that owns “Worship Ministries” and Christian Network, Inc., turning to Paxson Communications, a “Christian broadcaster” which owned the plane, to make its corporate jet available to spirit the Saudi princes and their entourage out of the U.S. six days after 9/11.

I hope it opens up a can of worms for Old Sourpuss' campaign.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

http://www.gregpalast.com/rolling-stone-its-already-stolen/
Investigation by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast released today

Don’t worry about Mickey Mouse or ACORN stealing the election. According to an investigative report out today in Rolling Stone magazine, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast, after a year-long investigation, reveal a systematic program of "GOP vote tampering" on a massive scale.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yes QOP, it's the Republican brand of voter fraud that we should be worried about, because they've done it in the past with success, and they will do it again, and since they are the party in power, and have been for 8 years, it gets easier and easier, unless so many people vote for Obama that there is an avalanche of Democratic votes, which will make it more difficult for the gerrymandering to work. Now here is the kind of "voter fraud" that the Repigs are making a big stink about:

ACORN is a community organizing group that has been in operation since the 60s, and they work with lower income, and dis-enfranchised people, so in this election, these low-income people are getting an opportunity to make a few bucks by registering new voters. The problem here is that they are probably being paid by a quota system, so if that number is 20 a day (as an example), then if these workers are not able to make the quota, they pad their number of registered voters applications with made-up names like Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Tony Roma, and maybe even Joe Blow to get paid. Now, the people who are validating these registered voter applications are either going to spot the invalid registrations, and discard them if it is obvious, or if it is deliberate fraudulent voter registration, when the person turns up at the polling station to vote, they will not be able to do so, but I doubt that Mickey Mouse, or Tony Roma will even show up. However, for every one illegal voter, there are 20 or 30 who are legit new voters, and these are the ones that the Repigs are trying to dis-enfranchise.

The next ploy that the Repigs are trying to use to sway votes, is to paint Obama as a socialist(I'm surprised they didn't use the word commie), and they used Joe the Plumber to do exactly this. At a rally today Palin was using the word "socialism" for Obama's reply to Joe that he wanted to spread the wealth, and I have often heard Obama use the phrase "level the playing field". Now, this by itself does sound like socialism, BUT I have 2 arguments for this. During the past 8 years, the fiscal barometer has been heavily tilted in the direction of the wealthy, and large corporations, which enabled the exploitation of the middle and working class by corporate America (this includes the banks, and mortgage brokers who financed those mortgages) in the form of more work for less pay, and less benefits, while the CEOs, and other execs. were rewarded with exorbitant salaries, and perks in the form of stock options, golden parachutes etc., so, in order to right the financial ship which is now listing, drastic measures (like those that Obama are proposing) have to be taken. The other side of the socialism coin which I don't hear the Repigs complaining about, is the nationalising of banks, and the $700 billion bailout package, because this is a kind of reverse socialism, where the middle class and working poor a.k.a. taxpayers, will be ponying up to correct the excesses of these corrupt corporations (banks, Wall Street, etc.). So, it's this twisted logic that the Repigs are hoping to use to make their last stand, and that includes the gerrymandering of the voting process. We'll have to see if they succeed, or rather, if we allow them to succeed.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sarah Palin may have a new battle on her hands. With so many endangered animals left to endanger, and so little time, what’s a governor to do?

While Palin’s lawsuit against the Federal Government to keep the polar bear from protection as a threatened species is still pending, another pesky white northern critter has reared its head to plague our governor. The federal government has now placed the population of beluga whales that inhabit Cook Inlet under the protection of the endangered species act.

This is an email I received from my sister-in-law (my brother Bill's wife) it such a heart rendering piece I wanted to share it. She went to the 75,000 plus rally in KC yesterday and this was her experience. Her entire family except she and Bill are Republican and she has worked for Obama the entire 2 years of his candidacy. She is a retired Superintendent of Schools in Johnson County, KS.

"Sally,
My body is hurting badly from the long trek to the Obama rally here yesterday but it is a sweet pain! Over 75,000 strong! It was surreal...in the massive crowd, we were softly spoken, followed all instructions and exhibited such patience! I had to park 1.3 miles away and join the long chain of supporters walking briskly along our way towards the memorial...it brought me to tears several times as I saw folks assisting the truly elderly...one white-headed gentleman (Caucasian) was asked repeatedly by campaign workers and fellow line-people if he would like assistance or would he like to break into the down-hill line closer to the entrance...(the line was a one-mile long snake of humanity that went up a hill and turned around to go down the hill)...I turned to hear him reply with tears in his eyes - "It is too important to me to march with everybody...this is the day I have been waiting for I think most of my life...I represent the generation with few who can do this!"
Our entire group of liners had tears in our eyes - heck, I just plain cried...and when I couldn't find a tissue in my purse, 4 people offered one to me.....I will never forget this experience. Even now, I cry while writing this email. McCain must stop polarizing this nation...we must have hope and a leader who offers solutions not separatism.
We must elect the common man's hope!!!
When I returned home (4 hours later - traffic was incredible - didn't mind though as I was sharing the road with fellow supporters), Bill took me to dinner and I had my chardonnay celebration/therapy!

I was also at the KC rally for Obama. We got in line at 3:15 and it was already a very long line. The gates opened at 4:00. At 5:15 we were just getting to the gate. The mass of humanity was amazing. I have never witnessed a crowd this large before. My niece and nephew tried to get as close as they could but really could not hear or see anything from their position until the very end when Obama was driven away. He rolled his window down to give his beautiful smile and a wave to the crowd. Erica and Ryan got to see him then.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

How great that is Teresa, I guess it was a wonderful event. It was like that in Denver at the Convention. What a strange story QOP, almost too much to believe and yet it fits with the other odd things going on in this country and they just keep stacking up.

I was sorry to hear about Obama's grandmother her birthdate is Oct. 26, 1922 in Peru, Kansas. It's in Western Kansas, tough bunch out there, no wonder she stayed in Hawaii.

clymela [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally/QOP- strange story indeed. Reminds me of the 5 Air Force personnel who died "accidentally" after the nuclear weapon flight from Nebraska. there have been other "accidental" deaths and of course the suicides of various scientists since this nightmare began rolling over us and our way of life. Just sounds so earily familiar.
Sally- no exaggeration the people in Western Kansas are tough. I grew up in SW Kansas on land my extended family settled-hard people, thin and brown from lack of moisture with hard work in an unforgiving climate. And a creation/human hating religion.

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thank you all for the great links and posts. The Biden observation was interesting given the historical references. On day one, the new administration is going to be tested to re-balance the executive and legislative branches of government; to deconstruct those laws that have scribbled all over the constitution.

Perhaps the greatest challenge will be to clear away the fog of this past eight years. It chills me to think of the mentality of those who would kill a bear cub for a political statement. I weep for all those who approve of our murder and mayhem throughout the world where millions have been displaced, and millions more killed or maimed. I weep for all the men and women who believed and believe they are fighting these damnable wars for some higher purpose.

Despite it all, i have faith; faith that the next few years will result in a new dynamic that values Earth and green technologies, strips the military/industrial complex of their power, erases the narrow-minded, secular mindset that pervades our educational systems.

He's saying Oct and Nov will reveal the bailouts not working.......Also I follow the predictions of Martin Armstrong. His business cycle is based on a pi cycle and has been correct TO THE DAY for many years. His next crash forecast is for April 23, 2009. NEOBuckeye [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The article I've included with this post illustrates a significant part of why I think the Saturn-Uranus Opposition on Election Day may indicate a surprise massive turn out of the youth vote... for Obama.

Consider first, however, that the 18 through 40-something crowd are all but completely ignored by the media, particularly when and where it comes to the market/financial crisis and concurrent economic downturn. Far more so than their Baby Boomer/Pluto in Leo parents who now fret over the realization that their retirement nest eggs have been vaporized amidst the financial turmoil, young people who haven't even begun to save for their own retirements are by and large saddled with massive amounts of debt ranging from multiple credit cards to high five and even six figure college loans.

Despite more of them being college educated than their parents, the younger Pluto in Virgo, Libra and Scorpio generations simply have not had the same economic opportunities in which to establish themselves and forge their own way towards realizing the American Dream. Buried deep and shackled to massive debt obligations, the future as of now looks rather grim for these up and coming American generations.

Hence, if anyone still wonders why Hillary Clinton didn't make it out of the Primaries vs. Obama, they need look no further than this group. After sitting in the background, working for substandard pay in call centers, checkout lanes and freelancing, amidst the world of fear, fascism, house flipping and other get-rich quick schemes conjured up by the Wall Street "free-market" banksters, Neo-Cons, "Christian" fundamentalists and other reactionary groups since 9/11, not to mention dealing with the ignominy of two stolen Presidential elections in favor of a bumbling idiot of a puppet, the young and emerging generations are now coming of age. And they don't care much for the sorry state of the world that they are inheriting, or for the people who made it this way.

Barack Obama, irrespective of his strengths and shortcomings, speaks to, resonates and energizes this group of young people in a way that hasn't been seen in the US since the Presidential campaigns of John and Bobby Kennedy. And for this generation, he gives voice to their hopes and aspirations for the future, as JFK and RFK did for the young and emerging generation of their time. Hillary Clinton ignored this group and the timing and significance of their coming of age to the demise of her own Presidential hopes. John McCain will fare no better, as in fact his perverse campaign marks a blatant dying gasp of the corrupt and obstinate old order.

My supposition is that McCain and the thoroughly corrupt conservative Republican Party will not only lose on Election Day. They will be utterly and decisively routed.

Palin pick turned off young voters: poll

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The choice by Republican presidential candidate John McCain of 44-year-old Sarah Palin as his running mate failed to woo young voters and even turned some of them off McCain, a Harvard University pollster said Wednesday.

"During the vice presidential selection process, I took a lot of phone calls from reporters, pundits and campaign people who thought the Palin pick was going to re-energize the youth vote and get young people to take a second look at McCain," John Della Volpe, director of polling at Harvard's Institute of Politics, told reporters.

"We now have data that indicate that the choice of Palin didn't help and probably hurt the Republican ticket," he said, as he presented the findings of a poll on young voters' attitudes.

Out of more than 2,400 people between the ages of 18 and 24 who were surveyed over the course of four weeks in September and this month, 40 percent said the Palin pick made them less likely to support the Republican ticket, the poll showed.

Twenty-five percent of respondents said they were more likely to vote for 72-year-old McCain because of his choice of running mate and 35 percent said the pick made no difference.

"Twenty-five percent more likely, 40 less likely -- that's a net negative-15," Della Volpe said.

The Palin pick had a similar, minus-15 percent turn-off effect on young women voters, the poll showed.

Don't want to be the Bad News Bears, but the world economic picture is looking very dire. It may turn out to be a depression instead of a recession. Of course, Bush who has been comatose for the past year is still speaking of an approaching recession, when we've been in it for almost a year now. I heard one of the European economists say that the recession in America started in Dec. 2007, and I would tend to agree with him. qop, did your water freeze last night? I've heard rumors of snow around here...

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ah MSNBC says its our uber special ops guys and there will be no comment. Only problem is Syrians got it on film. Now they would like us to accept it as normal, we do it all the time in Pakistan. Lawless.

Nine days and may all the seeds of change we have planted across the nation come to fruition.

New moon is on Tuesday, taking down to the 7 day countdown. McCain did himself no favors this morning on MTP, the media gave him a free half hour (note Obama is paying for his time), and he, McCain used it badly, it was in the end, a sad thing to see. They even fed him his POW line. You can see it on MSNBC's netcast.

And I don't believe for one single minute that the GOP is not going to try and rip off the people, so not matter what vote, vote early, vote on the day, this year let them hear us clearly.

Well they've given us the 'comfort' words that these were targeted militants, and again they said we do this all the time. How these people must hate our country. One of the quick clips they ran for McCain this morning on the MTP netcast had a nano second blurp with George Bush saying to the camera, they brought this to our shores, as justification for our actions. The labeling of human beings as 'militants, protestors, terrorists' as justification for murder. And they tell us to move along, nothing to see here. Go watch your world series. Be distracted.

Yes, I saw (muted the sound) Palin's pink jacket and black skirt, and the screaming green thing Elizabeth Hassellya the Nutjob wore. Talk about dumb and dumber. These women are so freaking shallow it is an embarrassing.

NOLASharon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I just want to make the comment (and it has probably been made before, or maybe you are all thinking this, and Sally has written about it and may be preparing to write about this again) -

I think it is the Uranus Saturn opposition that encouraged Obama's candidacy over Hillary's (because, although she represented change, it was not enough change) and now that he and McCain are in opposition, the young and the old, I can really, really see how the country is well on its way to becoming that much more polarized and dichtomized than everry before, as it was in the 60s, and I see the potential for danger, and for civil unrest to be set off no matter who wins. If it is Obama, the extremists will be making great trouble, and take great efforts to make this even more of a war (and they have the guns to back it up!). If it is, G-d forbit, McCain, there may be rioting but there will largely be peaceful protests that will probably be disrupted by extremist trouble makers and whose to say the left won't have the same thing (but a lesser among, because we are more pro-peace). I am not looking forward to this. May it all
be Peaceful!

Gina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sharon, as far as greater polarization goes, yes and no.

The country has been this polarized for a long time; only now, the 24-hour news cycle is amplifying our differences, shining the spotlight on how each side fears the other will bring America to ruin. It's as if we're still fighting the same battles from the 60's, unsure if we want to embrace an idyllic, fairy tale past, or move on to the future.

Last night, I saw a wonderful segment on the Daily Show, in which John Oliver interviewed attendees of both Obama and Palin rallies. His conclusion: We are not a red or a blue America, we are a nation that is "scared sh*tless."

Yeah, I too, think a McBush-Lady McBush presidency would be disastrous--but, of course, I'm biased.

joannaoregon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh rats... we're just fighting another civil war which dates back to at least 1861–1865. Same-old same-old same-old... around around around we go the same-old track because humanoids learn nothing... absolutely nothing, except more efficient ways to kill & steal. A pox on them all!

NOLASharon [TypeKey Profile Page]:

qop, when are you coming out with your 2009 calendars?

Getting back to my civil unrest concerns/fears: When I hear things about dead bear cubs and deer heads deposited on college campuses and 2 foiled assasination plots, and know that there are white militias & KKKers just looking for an excuse to defend their country or race or something, as well as see the absolutely bigoted emails & videos going around the internet and hear what's going down at the McPalin rallies, I realize that should Obama win, there are going to be a lot of angry people, and vice versa, and then I think about the Saturn Uranus opposition, and I expect civil unrest. Especially if the election is close and there are claims of fraud. This is why Bush re-deployed the military to the cities.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm not doing calendars this year. Well I have several special orders, with 2009 calendar, 2008 pixs, from people who didn't buy one last year.but using last years paintings! QOP, the new moon was conjunct my natal S.Node. I am not an expert on Nodes, as few astrology texts in the past devoted much time to them. I took an astrology class many moons ago, and took some notes on the moon's nodes, but they are interpreted by house placement rather than sign placement. Anyway, I think the keywords for the nodes are as follows - N.Node has to do with the present, and S.Node with the past and karma. N.Node - pattern to be unfolded, spiritual development. S.Node - patterns from the past. Sorry I can't be of more help, but personally I associate the N.Node with good luck, and the S.Node with bad. So far, starting on Monday, I have had to deal with a slew of problems, which cropped up suddenly, and are gradually being solved, but only through a lot of vigilance, and exertion on my part, but then again, it sounds like my life at any point in time, hahaha.

Joanna, black males may have technically gotten the vote, but it took the 1960's before they could vote in the South safely. Google Medgar Evers to see why. Needless to say Black women also did not get the legal right to vote either, but if we had, violence would also have been directed towards us too. The right to vote means little if votes are thrown away or people intimidated when they even attempt to register, let alone actually vote.

Btw, this talk about calendars reminds me of the time I used to do Astrological Calendars by hand. I would take someone's birthchart and do a whole year of transits. I would buy a blank calendar and painstakingly put color-coded transits on the calendar along with Moon (void of course), holidays, Lunar Phases and anything else the client wanted. But back then it was difficult to get something going. I couldn't really advertise anywhere, and doing things all by hand meant that production was a bit slow.

These days, all of that could be done on the computer using templates and carefully selected colors and typefaces-even omitting the paper part and simply e-mailing the results, but I haven't even considered putting up my shingle.

Exactly so, Carol. And we also know WHO was making the rules up for everybody else yet that goes mostly unspoken (fear?) for some reason by society as a whole. Somehow, I have this great need to point out all the falderal... ;O) not that anybody has to notice of course.
