How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!!
Last month and this month the US indeed the World has been faced with the prospect of trying to dissect the elephant confronting us all. Oil issues, presidential (and VP) issues, wars around the world, Iraq signing an $3 Billion dollar agreement with China right under our noses, conventions, scandals of a barely known GOP VP, political party flim flams, global financial problems with the biggest one right here in America; storms everywhere.
There is record flooding in India, more earthquakes in China, Gustav in the US (thankfully downgraded with the shift of the Moon from a Virgo square to Pluto to a Venus conjunct in Libra) It's been a busy week America and the week/month has just begun and the Elephant keeps getting bigger as the metaphor of "storms" keeps hitting the candidates, both of them.
For all you astrology buffs, this article will not be listing many aspects due to the complications of the national and international interplay of aspects. I am synthesizing solar returns, and progressed charts of Obama, Biden, McCain, Palin, the DNC and GOP parties and conventions, America, and the Election Charts all toll there are 24 interactive charts with a look toward their mid-points, and additional event charts such as the Iraq War, Civil War, Revolutionary War, Eclipse charts, 1968, 1980 and 2000. All these things are in play for the upcoming two months, as you can see to try and explain all this country is experiencing in terms of events, collective sub-conscious issues, the ability to break through to a new way of thinking is too much to explain the aspects. I will give the dates and times of the major charts and subsequent articles will deal with those major charts plus additional charts as needed.
The tumultous times we are living through as a culmination of the past 235 years and where we want to go to next, demands we at least try to understand the times and what's happening and potentially will happen over the next few months. This is history and Historians will mark this time much as they mark the Depression, the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII etc. The bell for transformation started ringing way before the year 2000/2001 but our country didn't hear the drip, drip, drips leading up to the loud ringing. The bell is still ringing, still trying to attract our attention.
The DNC Convention went off at 3:01 (MDT) Aug. 25, Denver, CO. and the RNC Convention at 2:49 (CDT) St. Paul, Minn., oddly both of these conventions started with aspects that favored their candidates, indicating both as winners of their parties. The Democrats started with a sense of excitment and "we're off and running" which lasted through out the week, a perfect week, even the weather was perfect. The GOP has started with a sense of using this storm (Gustav) on the Gulf Coast for political purposes; trying to redeem their failure from Katrina. From their perspective they look great, from the US perspective they are in over-kill and they are obviously depressed Convention. Their candidate is in the wrong state, Mississippi, the strained resources there cannot take time to pamper and pay attention to them and their fund raiser will have problems getting off the ground, except at the Convention Hall. The North Node is still on Obama's Ascendant favoring his personality and coming in to appear to save the day or the week as Libra planets begin to sextile his Leo giving him opportunities.
The people in the best position to take advantage of the Libra energy will be Obama and Palin, as far as energies for this month goes, in October Biden and McCain benefit. The first debate Sept. 26, opens on a Mercury just going retrograde. Both of them will be a bit pugnacious and McCain could land some blows, but it will ultimately turn out to be no foul because the North Node is still favoring Obama and the Retrograde Mercury falls in McCain's first house, where people "hear" what he is saying, but might not understand what he's saying, potential for being tongue tied.
Three Hurricanes will hit the US in one week not including Gustav; Hanna, Ike and Josephine lots of water as the week wears on and the Moon moves to Scorpio and squares Neptune, Chiron and the NN. There will also be additional intensity over oil throughout the world, as in Georgia, Iraq, and drilling in the US. There are more than devastating Hurricanes on the horizon and The Republicans, George Bush and Fema are going to have so many opportunities to pay back the Karma of letting NOLA drown in 2005 with all that Libra coming to the South (karmic) Node of Katrina, as well as lying and cheating the American public out of their oil and money. This administration's yin is about to meet their yang.
October is always a bad month for the stock market and financial institutions. All those Libra planets square the US Sun, conjunct the US Saturn and square the US Pluto. I can only say this so many times, but protect your money and keep a little money in a safe place where you can access it quickly. They will also square McCain's Pluto and Moon (which are in opposition) he could stumble again on the economy, at the same time Libra will square Obama's Saturn and he will take a very cautious view of the financial situation. McCain's Moon and Obama's Saturn conj. the US Pluto. Because McCain has a natal opposition from his Moon to his Pluto he will be on the wrong side of the economy, but it will seem to be on the right side because he says what "people" want to hear. Obama's progressed Jupiter conj. Pluto right now and his Progressed Sun trines it, a more optimistic note from him and a more hopeful one.
The VP candidates are looking to be an asset and Joe Biden will be, Ms. Palin has a Mars/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius and Neptune has been hitting that and will continue to aspect that conjunction fairly closely. If she is not thrown out because of what they will unearth about her, November is going to be a difficult month for her as a candidate. She did or said something or covered up something that will continue to leak out with Neptune there and then planets going into a square position to her Aquarius from Scorpio, her progressed Mars is being squared right now by Pluto, as is the GOP Mars, which opposes her progressed Mars. If the GOP thought their "fortunes" in this election lay with her, they were badly mistaken as Pluto has the power to take them both down.
It will be an ugly election, really ugly. I don't think McCain likes doing this but the lies and attacks will start in earnest next week and sadly John McCain has already sold his soul to become President. Obama absolutely has no stomach for this kind of campaigning but he will have to go on the attack or the GOP will define him and it won't be nice. Joe Biden will also need to be careful to tell the absolute truth with Neptune squaring his Mercury, get it all out there before it becomes fodder for the attack machines. This will be a take no prisoners election and the last one left standing is the winner. The Democrats have a slight advantage for this election, a slight Karmic advantage giving them a new start as the NN and Chiron conj. their Moon and Pluto.
Ms. Palin is the most interesting and the most unknown. Her Moon and Sun are in Aquarius with Mars and Saturn. Neptune is not only aspecting her Mars, but it is aspecting her Sun. I was always taught that when Neptune is aspecting your Sun don't do or say anything that wouldn't look good in national papers. There is a coldness to her with that Mars/Saturn in Aquarius and a self absorption with Venus and Jupiter in Aries, but there is also a strength in that if one doesn't get in the way of her ambitions. Her Jupiter in Aries, inconj. her Neptune in Scorpio gives her a confusion as to how to use her spirituality in a positive manner. I am a bit put off by her announcing to the world that her unmarried 17 year old daughter is pregnant. That pretty much puts that young woman in a glaring international spotlight, open to jokes, criticism, attacks. I don't know any mothers, including myself, who would do that to a 17 year old, she didn't ask to run for Vice President. Ms. Palin has two "special needs" children right now, her 17 year old and her 4 month old downs syndrome baby, she seems to have very little regard for either one of them. If she is this cold and distant from her children, what will she be for the millions of children and people she doesn't know. This might be the thing that would cause the GOP to suggest to Ms. Palin that she isn't an appropriate candidate, especially if there continues to be video's of John McCain learing at her breasts and fanny. Ms. Palin doesn't have any appreciation of the oogleing herself. McCain's age is an issue now due to her extremely thin educational and political experience. The McCain campaign just released the information the she will be used 80% of the time as a fund raiser and I expect that will be raising funds from the right wing fundamentalists. She is not competent to be President even the GOP knows that and many were caught off guard; she won't leave the campaign herself but it's possible she will be shown the door and soon unless she proves to be adept at getting money for McCain and these first few days of Sept will help her with that quest.
Her candidacy does put a spotlight on how many Dominionists "cells" there are in this country and what their agenda is for the rest of us.
History keeps marching on and once in a while someone comes along that is the inspires the best of who we are even if they aren't the best, they keep moving themselves and us along that path. We have that choice this election and we can take the safe route of what's been, even if imperfect, it seems to be a safe place for us. The other choice is the future and what dreams may come and what we might be able to create; we can go back, stay where we are or invest in our future and be a part of it. Obama said in his speech that "this election wasn't about him, it never was, it's about us," and what we can do. Saturn is the planetary energy of discipline, frugile, and responsibility. When the energy is misused, it's the planetary energy of fear, bigotry, frustrated anger; the coming Saturn/Uranus opposition is the opportunity to make a break between the old and the new, we can use Saturn to turn away from that opportunity because of fear, or we can use the energy to apply discipline and responsibility to the new and progressive. Each of us has to decide whether to go for the brass ring or let it go on by for another four years, I'm reaching for the brass ring if we miss it, I will go for it again in another four years.

Sorry, I'm back. I went to google the number 11, and this scary stuff came up. I didn't read it all, but some of it is probably downright stupid. I'm off to bed now. Hope I won't have any nightmares.

Crystal,
I've been involved with numerology for some 15 years now. I admit that I sceptical when it comes to interpreting names. But dates indeed have relevances.
I did calculations on her and posted it in a previous thread, but not sure if you've seen it so I'll post it here again:
-----
Crystal,
Unfortunately those 'all 2s' - with 11 thrown in - are very bad... for us that is.
This is someone who was, is, and will continue to cut through life as a knife would do through a cream-cheese that's been out of the frige for a few hours. There are no barriers on her way. As long as she doesn't become lazy and keeps her eyes on the prize, she will get anything she ever desires. This is the sort of person who excells at compromising and deal making. And whlie initially her opponents think they came out ahead or at least even, she eventually gets the best end of the deal when the time passes.
An insular circle of family, friends, co-workers is what keeps her afloat. But she is as important to them as they are to her. She's to them as mother-hen is to chicks. They can't exist without her, and she fulfills her purpose in life through having them. This is not a pubic servant on the grand scale. She can listen well and understand quickly. But when it comes to planning, doing and achieving results, her solutions are great for a homogeneous population of say 50,000. But serving the needs of a diverse population numbering millions is above and beyond her. A person like that is likely to attempt to gently force(yes, this is the type that can combine this two words as she acts, and can be fairly successful at it) everyone into the same mold.
If she's destined to play a major executive role, the period between ages 39 and 48 is when she's extremely likely to do so. This is also the time when she's prone to base her decisions and judgements strictly on ambitions and cold logic. As I've said she rarely faces barriers and opposition, so it possible that there won't be anyone around to stop or even warn her when she crosses the line between right and wrong.
I'm sorry, but it doesn't look good at all. If anyone ever sees a photo of her waving her handwhere the palm is clearly visible(I realize those are very rare, but just maybe), please post a link, I would really like to look at that.

the thing about numerlogy and the birthday number you have to add all those 2's to get the number which for her comes up to a 6
Month, day year
2 + 1+1+1+9+6+4 = 24 = 6 actually the 24 (6) isn't much different than the 2. She gets what she wants and if crossed is revengful.

Here's another interesting comment written by Marjorie Orr from England.
McCain & Palin From: Marjorie. (01 Sep 2008 20:33):
Saturn crossed McCain''s Sun in mid July which can be setbacks and it is now sitting on his Sun/Neptune midpoint across the Convention (= chaotic conditions disappointments, scandals) and gets to the conjunction with his Neptune in early to mid October which isn''t helpful remotely for him. Plus Uranus is conjunct his Saturn from September 4th till 29th which could be an almighty jolt or a health warning.
Sarah Palin''s Neptune transits begin to make more sense since she''s clearly stepped into a swamp by being offered the VP running mate role - with her family and her past political affiliations and comments being picked over with a fine tooth comb. As of now transitting Neptune is conjunct her Sun and Sun/Mars mid point till mid September both of which are undermining, low energy, scandal and disappointment prone. Right now across the Convention transitting Saturn is conjunct her Uranus/Pluto (= exposure to extremely great pressure) and opposition Sun/Venus (= emotionally downbeat). And just when Uranus conjuncts McCain''s Saturn it also conjuncts her Jupiter/Saturn midpoint (= loss of job, sudden change of circumstances, strong emotional tensions). It isn''t beyond the bounds of possibility that 1) she gets tossed or 2) McCain has to withdraw and take her with him or 3) there''s continuing ruckus and uproar. One way of ''tother it''s going to be interesting to watch.
The McCain/Palin composite does have a Neptune trine Jupiter which is starry eyed and unrealistic, believing the best of the other which is perhaps also a hint of no vetting before he picked her. As well as a very stubborn Mars square Pluto.

This does have to do with USian politics...of course, it does. Isn't it about petro that the US is swarming over the mideast? Oh, no...it's for USian "freedom" & revenge for 9/11. I always forget. Hahahahahaaaaa!
"...Truly, like just about anyone else paying even cursory attention to current socioeconomic events, all I could do was glance at this distended eco-destroyer (auto) and feel a bit sorry for the beast's owner, who I'm sure thought he was buying a righteous all-American status symbol, but who is now laying out $100 at the gas station every two hours just to keep his senseless Detroit leviathan swimming in 12 mpg war-happy petroleum.
Ironic, I thought, how quickly Americans' emblems of cool first-world excess, of waste and wealth and war, flip right over into symbols of wrongheadedness and empty cultural pathos. I mean, isn't it?..."

Thanks Joanna, I love Mark Morford, he is so funny and so accurate.
Kiwi, thanks for Marjorie Orr's comments. One thing that's so telling in these charts is the Pluto square to the GOP's Mars, that's a really difficult square and everything they don't need to move forward will be ripped away from them. They aren't moving forward now, but trying to move backward, going to be tough slogging for them. Uranus to McCain's Saturn also sets off his natal t-square involving Saturn/Venus/Chiron, I absolutely agree with her about the dangers of serious health concerns with McCain.

So much for family values
s a downsized convention got underway, Republican delegates, who generally are more conservative than their standard bearer John McCain, continued to applaud his choice of the quirky Alaskan governor and mother of five to run with him, despite her lack of national security credentials. They filled McCain's coffers with nearly $8 million in the first two days after his announcement.
Unfortunately, whether inside our outside of wedlock, the evangelicals now seem hell-bent on reproducing themselves like rabbits. Their self-stated goal is to eventually repopulate the planet with sympathetic others who share the same far-right, fundamentalist ideas on religion as they do.
In that sense, the late Carl Sagan got it absolutely correct when he said that: "...a celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism."

Looks like the GOP will be getting some attention for their otherwise dull convention, if even it's the controversial kind. The boyfriend had a website up proclaiming that he's a redneck, and that he didn't want any f-----g babies - not exactly RNC material. The website was quickly pulled down, once he was propelled into the limelight, and he will be present at the RNC on Wednesday with the rest of the family, when his mom-in-law to be, Sarah Palin, addresses the convention.

Sally,McCain's natal Jupiter and Chiron form a grand cross to McCain's natal Venus/Neptune/Saturn opposition. The transits of Saturn and Uranus on that grand cross highlight the natal. Chiron finishes the deal...his natal Chiron makes up the finishing touches to that natal grand cross. Transiting Pallas will be sitting on the natal Chiron. On Nov. 4th this will be in play. On Nov. 4th at 8:37 AM McCain's Asc. and Eqt. Asc. will fall very close to the natal Jupiter's part of this grand cross.
On the bright side, McCain's 12th house planets are trined by transiting Jupiter and transiting Mars sextiles them on Nov. 4th In short, there is a cradle formed from McCain's natal Neptune/Venus in the 12th to transiting Mars to transiting Jupiter to natal Saturn. Perhaps all these "good" aspects soften whatever health issues may occur.Back to the dark side, the eclipse of Aug. 1st fell on McCain's Uranus in his 7th house highlighting his "need" for change and chosing somewhat unwisely. The lunar eclipse of August opposed his natal Juno. The pretty wife, capable of much havoc and destruction. What can I say...this is kind of a script which reads: "haste makes waste." We'll see. We'll see...but, his Solar Return for 2008 doesn't convince me he will win this election. Biden's does.

Bushies Come to Palin's Aid
Michael Isikoff
By Michael Isikoff
The McCain team has hastily assembled a team of former Bush White House aides to tutor the vice-presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, on foreign-policy issues, to write her speeches and to begin preparing her for her all-important Oct. 2 debate against Sen. Joe Biden.
Steve Biegun, who once served as the No. 3 National Security Council official under Condoleezza Rice at the White House, has been hired as chief foreign-policy adviser to the Alaska governor, campaign officials told NEWSWEEK. After taking leave from his job as vice president for international affairs at Ford Motor Co. last Friday, Biegun flew to St. Paul and, together with McCain’s foreign-policy guru Randy Schuenemann, began briefings for Palin on national-security issues—an area where her resume is conspicuously thin.

Wow, I can't really link to these articles but please do read all the editorials + op-eds in today's NY Times. Maureen Dowd's take on Palin(second in a row for her) is the most hilarious thing she's ever written, and even that semi neo-con Tom Friedman totally trashes McInsane for his Veep pick.
I'm paraphrasing Lyndon Johnson's reaction when Walter Cronkite gave an impassioned on-air anti Vietnam commentary, and Johnson supposedly said to his advisors: "If I've lost Cronkite I've lost the country!" McInsane should now be thinking something like "If I've lost Friedman, I've lost the pandering, enabling, sclerotic, sickeningly fearful (hopefully beginning to finally awaken somewhat to reality) mainstream U.S. media"
The best comment about Palin was on Daily Kos, calling Palin "America's first trailer trash V.P. candidate" accompanied by a photo of her practicing shooting a rifle while at her swimming pool clad in her very revealing two piece bathing suit.

comment way down...........
So I can’t get enough of this stuff…Having just come back from a six-month stint in Juneau, imagine my surprise when I found out one morning that Palin is McCain’s choice for VP. Heck, I was one up on many because I actually knew who she was. Now, I’m a Texan and a Democrat, but I try to make informed decisions about whomever I vote for. In my time in Alaska, Palin failed to impress because of one main reason that no one is talking about.
Let’s call it Juneau-Gate. No one (yet) has mentioned how she has systematically stripped hundreds of jobs from Juneau, basically for her own convenience. Now, if she had fought the highly contested issue of moving the capital publicly, I wouldn’t have issue with it. Instead, she did it quietly and underhandedly. Now, that’s just my take, what’s yours? Just wanted to bring up this point. I was doing a project when I was there and I was hit with this reality over and over (from several people in the Alaska Congress for that matter).
Anyhow, thank you for a wonderful blog. I needed to hear an Alaskan take on this whole thing because I just couldn’t see the people I met and worked with for so many months taking this decision lightly. Keep on keeping on and I will continue reading.

For those who don't read Nancy's blog at Starlight News, here's a link that was posted over there, to a website I just love. There's some real eye-opening stuff here - not that we didn't already know, but it is spelled out in the urgent language of immediacy. That's why it's always important to keep thoughts positive, joyous when possible, and full of light and love - not only that, but to band together, to reinforce that positive wall of energy. If even you think you're too old and tired to care anymore, do it for the sake of the future generations. This man is good.

Is this isn't the most vapid political speech I have ever heard, Bush has been the best President this country has ever known. I've seen Miss America pageant contestants speak with more substance in two minutes than this woman has uttered in twenty. If McCain doesn't go down in flames to defeat in November for this, America might as well tear up the Constitution and call it a Pluto Cycle!

I thought her delivery was exactly what her supporters wanted. She came across very well to them - that is, those that like a barbed attack barracuda tongue. She’s certainly no shrinking violet. “Facts” scewed to sound real. Very pro “USA” and to hell with the rest of the world. Right up their alley. The whole crowd had a very vitriolic feel to it with respect to anything to do with Obama or Biden.
So, they’ve hopped on the change bandwagon now too - hmmmm, makes me wonder what change the cosmos has in store for all of us.
A poster on Marjorie Orr's site has this to say. Any thoughts from you experienced astrologers?
Palin Accepts Nomination with Algol Rising From: Concerned Astrologer. (04 Sep 2008 03:51):
Hi Marjorie - Note that Sarah Palin accepted the nomination at 10:31pm ET/9:31pm CT on Wed 9/3/08 as the malefic fixed star Algol was rising (25 Tau 40 Asc in St Paul; Algol at 26 Tau 10 in 2008). Is the "horrible head" of the nomination hers or someone else''s? I''ve read a couple of posts wondering whether she is a "trojan horse" - but this would surely indicate that there is some negative influence associated with her nomination.

Gut reaction aside, that really was one of the worst political speeches I have ever seen. Palin makes Bush look like a politician of modest substance by comparison. That is how low they have set the bar for her, and network/cable media all chimed in to confirm this fact.
She sounded like a Homecoming Queen and spent what seemed like 20 minutes giving shout outs to her family and reminiscing about her PTA and small town mayoral days. She waited until the last 10 to finally get into something in the way of substance, but it was mostly vapid infatuation and worship for McCain (more war, McCain the supposedly unwavering heroic POW, man of the people, rah rah) and coded, indirect attacks on Obama (-I- have more executive experience, he's a celebrity, he'll raise your taxes, etc). Big on attacks against Obama... her ties to Big Oil and fossil fuels and "winning the war on terra".
Palin definitely embodies the "dark side" of Saturn as much as it is the co-ruler of Aquarius. A "rebel" but fiercely for the continuation and enforcement of the status quo. It's easy to see how she would energize conservatives who seem desperate and willing to settle for anyone who will tell them that nothing must change, and in fact anything that seriously threatens the status quo can and must be opposed.
For the rest of us, I don't think she told or suggested anything to us tonight that we didn't already know about her, and in fact confirmed what we know about her, and John McCain's terrible judgement and his unfitness to be President.

On top of that, she totally failed to demonstrate any rhyme or reason why she should be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, should the need arise.
If there is any truth to the reaction I'm reading on CNN right now, she blew it tonight, and not just her. Giuliani was also very nasty, falling back upon his favorite three words: September 11, 2001. The whole GOP came off as very mean spirited and bitter. Maybe Americans are finally waking up?

Listening to Palin's speech tonight, I cried. Not tears of joy, hope, or happiness. I cried because i am scared that her rhetoric will affect people's decisions about America's future. This speech was scarier than any movie, any war, and anything I can think of. If people believe this obvious pandering of ideologies, I pray we can get through these next four years. less

I have been watching this for days to determine how I should vote. Palin's speech has been the deciding factor for me. Aside from the issues, she has about as much experience as my next door neighbor. I can't believe she has the nerve to ignore the obvious and come out as if she isn't a bit aware of the fact that hardly anyone knows who she is and she hasn't earned the standing to be attacking other's experience. The only thing that I have seen that is similar is George Bush's complete obliviousness to the public view. Maybe like him, she only watches FOX news. I was hoping McCain would be more in tune to the American people. His judgement is a serious question. less

Wow, I'm extremely disappointed with Palin's speech. I was willing to give her a chance. despite the questions the press (rightly!) have been asking about her (being a complete unknown to most of us in the lower 48), but she didn't say a single thing to dissuade my gut feeling - this person is a truly frightening choice for the control of the US nuclear arsenal. Key leaders of the Republican Party are going on the offensive to head off criticism of their new Vice Presidential candidate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin due to the disclosure that her 17-year old unmarried daughter Bristol is pregnant. "If it wasn't for Hillary’s long time support of loose morals and whipping up women to think they can make decisions about their own bodies, none of this would have happened," said Grover Norquist, anti-tax activist and GOP leader. “Staying married to that cheating liar of a husband of hers, gave the message to our daughters that it is acceptable to lose all respect for themselves and to forget our all important teachings of abstinence only. Shame on the Clintons. They should be impeached all over again,” said senior McCain advisor Steve Schmidt (end quote)

Could you imagine being stuck with small town bigots running our country? Change for the worse, not better. Palin reminds me of the female creature in the (horror) movie, "Species". NEOBuckeye,
Don't apologize - it was fun to read and I wouldn't have otherwise.
I was really bothered by it all last night, but this morning, I'm more hopeful. Last night (this is the hopeful part), I believe they removed any illusion of this being a horse race. In the last race they were able to make Kerry look too feminine. In this one, they're applying it properly to Palin. Yes, she's physically attractive but I don't believe she connected to voters in a feminine way and that's what they desperately needed to do.

You-all keep an eye out for the National Enquirer when you are waiting in the supermarket checkout line. Word is that they are working on a story re Palin's affair with a friend/partner of her husband.

Morgana, I honestly thought McCain was ready to fall over when he first walked out on stage. He even looked a little disoriented. He also looks surprisingly weak and frail, even compared to just four years ago, much older than his 72 years. His mother at 96 actually appeared far more lively.
His speech was barely more relevant than Palin's, but his delivery was just as bad, in a different way. Definitely not belligerent like Palin's. Just rather insipid and pathetic.

I still can't understand why choosing between Obama and maccain is still an issue! What are they doing to you over there in the USA? Obama isn't obviously perfect nor he is the saviour, but between him and those other two, the choice is obvious.
The rest of the world is tired of the American administration invading countries, your credibility abroad is ruined, your allies don't believe in your lies any more and won't follow you into any more wars (fair or not), your economy is slowing the world's economy, not accepting climate change as a reality is destroying this planet even more...
What more evidence do you need to change? A new 9/11? Because probably that's what is going to happen if maccain wins! And we will not support you this time! Bush father - war, bush son - 9/11, war... Can you make the connection already?

It's funny how the McCain campaign is jumping on the change platform now since it's clear they don't have any original platform of their own. Now he's supposed to be the change agent. God help us all should McCain and Palin get in office. We will get what we deserve!

I find it incredibly tacky that Palin would insult and disparage Obama just a few days after he insisted that reporters not speak negatively about Bristol's situation. He could have torn Palin to shreds comparing Palin's "family values platform" and "abstinence-only policies" with the fact of a knocked up daughter. But Obama took the high road.
This sarcastic name-calling and hate-filled vitriol is what he gets in return? Mrs. Palin and all republicans should be ashamed. less

The GOP is a joke...
a. They down the dems for big government, yet created the largest burocracy in history DOHS.
b. They down the dems for tax and spend, yet tax cut, price gudge and spent the U.S. into 9.5 trillion in debt is a better alternative?
c. They talk about family values, yet most of the speakers at the convention had trophy (2nd) wives (McCain, Thompson, Guliani) and they actually had pins saying Hot VP while Palin touted her teenage prego daughter and boyfriend around like a prize.
d. They down dems on security....we were attacked and devisated by karina under Bush...lots of people died...how can they claim they protect us.
e. They down dems for military service (Kerry) yet nominate and brag when its McCain.
f. They want government off your back...unless you want make a choice regarding your reproductive system, then government is in your pants.
g. They down dems for being liberal, yet Jesus was liberal and so wasn't all our founding fathers...they authors of our constitution.
I noticed they don't down dems for global warming and energy independance anymore....they now call it their own policy.
What a joke the GOP has become! Laughable.

I am so excited about this election I believe with Palin in office alongside John McCain that America would become a much better country. McCain made a smart decesion when asking her to run in office with him. America needs everything that Palin and McCain are proposing. With their ideas for the construction of power plants America could finally become based on their own energy and not have to worry about what might happen with other countries. I am so excited. She is saying that Republicans plan to cut taxes, and faciliate the construction of power plants all over the country to solve the energy crisis. The reason I bring this up, is simply because it is ridiculous plan to say the least. How do Republicans expect to help construct power plants and cut taxes?...hmmm...the answer is you can't. The gov't is broke as it is, because of this kind of thinking from the previous administration. No money, means the gov't can't help, means a weaker ecomony. I've followed Senator Obama through his primary campaign and now in the general election campaign and I've seen plenty of substance. In fact, his Energy Policy speech shows his insight into America as a whole.

Outside of being rude and classless act.....she did not bring any valued perspective to others concerned with economy, jobs, heatlthcare, etc....... She indeed is a pond in the political strategy and is insulting that they think this ruse is going to work.... Well, unless you make over $100,000-$150,000 a year, I think it's safe to say that you're not going to see a tax increase under Obama. Hey, if I make $100,000, I'd GLADLY pay a tax increase. As it is, I really doubt my household will ever make it over $100,000 in the next 30 odd years or so. Outsourcing and my employer "staying competitive in the workplace" has seen to that.
If people are afraid that Obama's letting the tax cuts expire means that they'll see more taxes, take a look at your pay stub and compare that with that $100,000 mark.
We've had all these tax cuts for years now, and what have they gotten us? Endless prosperity? I don't see endless prosperity, I see a recession and massive deficits and money going overseas. Simply put, if China or the Middle East decides to put a call on our debt that we owe them, the U.S. is sunk. Why won't McCain and Palin talk about that? less

Humor is great way to engage your crowd, but frankly, I don't think anything about this election is a laughing matter. This is a very critical and fragile time for our country and I don't feel comfortable listening to a jokes and cracks from our country's "leaders", more-so the hoots and hollers of their supporting crowd. Again, I didn't find their speeches amusing, as I strongly believe this election is not a joke!! I tuned into the RNC in hopes to hear Republican views about moving our country forward, but felt my time was wasted listening to countless punchlines with no substance. I must say that reading all of the comments on this page make me firmly believe how divided this country is. I haven't voted in the last two elections because neither side has proven to me that their ideas will truely be implemented. Elections are all about a negative agenda for the most part, but finally this year we have someone in Obama who has inspired people to believe again that our Country can lead by example rather than be looked at as a bully and irresponsible. I don't think that experience has anything to do with this at all, look at all the experience George Bush had (none) before the Republicans of this Country elected him President not only once but twice. Can anyone please tell me what he has accomplished in his 8 years of service to this Country. Although John MCcain has served his country doesn't mean he automatically should be President. It seems last election the Republicans trashed a Vietnam Vet. , but now this year they seem to be praising one. The Republican party will do just about anything to make sure they either win an election or steal an election. Just take a look at the VP choice they have made as a Party. I have nothing against Palin, but to me they don't appeal to the people of this country but to the Electoral Map. Your either going to vote Republican or your not a faithful person or your not Patriotic. Karen,
You may have something there. It's not so much that it's blond but it's all the same shade of bright yellow or almost white blond (which may explain a lot in itself). I think if Cindy would go with a light brown or light brown with highlights it would really improve her looks. I apologize to those pounding their heads against the wall because I'm going on about this, but I have to get it off my chest. With all that money and a slim figure, I'd go with a Diane Keaton look. It's terrifying enough to think of four years of McCain/Palin, but four more years of having to look at another first lady whose outfits are made out of the same fabrics as her sofa and chairs, it'll send me to the looney bin.

There was so much I could not watch of this convention although I did watch a little each day. Something struck me very odd starting on Wednesday. The people on the floor of the convention were animated but those above were mostly quiet, little clapping or jumping up. The people on the floor seemed to be moved forward to the stage during the evening. It all seemed badly staged to me and very lackluster. It gave me the surreal feeling of it not being real.
Governor Palin has Neptune directly on her Sun this week and that usually brings a "fading" away or not remembering or even hearing clearly what she said, however the impression of her will remain be that positive or negative.
One of the most interesting thing that happened to me is the amount of GOP women I heard from Thursday (friends and colleagues) they we really upset regarding Ms. Palin. One colleague I work with is the Ex. Dir. of a regional organization of GOP women, covering several states. She was really upset with the speech to the point that she said she would work for state GOP lawmakers but not for the GOP presidential team, that she just couldn't. She even asked me how liberal media and blogs could possibly compare Ms. Palin's speech to Obama's.
Senator McCain gave his speech on very good aspects last night and I think his base will and has responded favorably. It wasn't an easy task for him but he delivered at a higher level than the majority of his speechs. The last 10 minutes of his speech was his best, the rest was disjointed.
The Democratic Convention was vibrant and exciting and the comparison between that and the GOP made me feel sorry for them because they couldn't even begin to compete. The obviousness of politics as a "game" was evident in both parties. The speeches the flourishes or attempts at them, the predictable attacks (red meat is what they call those) is all a game. Say whatever one has to in order to get elected. The Dems did a better job talking about issues and what they were going to do. I heard a historian say that it was unprecedented in convention history that a sitting President and Vice President didn't make any kind of appearance, and the President only gave a quick video tape message; just another marker of a historical election in play this year. I was thrilled the primary was finally over, I am thrilled the conventions are finally over and will probably be thrilled when the election is over. If we want a Democratic administration we will really need to work hard for it and I do think it will be stunningly close. Michael Phelps won by 1/100 of a second at the Olympics and Torres lost by 1/100 of a second in the women's swimming relay, I think that's a pretty good omen for this up-coming race.

Palin Power: Fresh Face Now More Popular Than Obama, McCain
Source: Rasmussen
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/palin_power_fresh_face_now_more_popular_than_obama_mccain
A week ago, most Americans had never heard of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, following a Vice Presidential acceptance speech viewed live by more than 40 million people, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 37% hold an unfavorable view of the self-described hockey mom.
The figures include 40% with a Very Favorable opinion of Palin and 18% with a Very Unfavorable view (full demographic crosstabs are available for Premium Members). Before her acceptance speech, Palin was viewed favorably by 52%. A week ago, 67% had never heard of her.
The new data also shows significant increases in the number who say McCain made the right choice and the number who say Palin is ready to be President. Generally, John McCain’s choice of Palin earns slightly better reviews than Barack Obama’s choice of Joe Biden.

Sarah Palin: The Face of Ugly Americanism
by John Seery
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-seery/sarah-palin-the-face-of-u_b_123989.html
I know, I know: Sarah Palin is receiving rosy plaudits for her speech last night. She is being heralded as the savior of the GOP, someone with enough moxie to sustain the party's unholy alliance between the oil plutocrats and the oily preachocrats.
Many pundits in reviewing her polished performance claim to see an unflappable and gung-ho winner on stage. My honest-to-goodness visceral reaction was quite otherwise. What I saw on that stage was the personification of small-minded smugness, an utter lack of humility, a kind of self-righteous entitlement based on little more than puffed-up narrowness. She struck me not as plucky but, rather, as stunningly immodest--to the point of arrogance. Some people are arrogant and maybe deserve to be. They know it, and flaunt it, while everyone else thinks they are jerks. But there's another kind of arrogance, perhaps harder to spot at first, an arrogance that apparently doesn't even recognize itself as such, a sanctified, self-satisfied presumptuousness that flows from sheer naïveté about oneself and the world and manifests itself in giddy ambition.
--snip--
Palin and McCain want the United States to consume more and more of the planet's energy resources--in the names of God, country, and industry. Palin believes that the Iraq War was God's will, even though she admits that she hasn't been paying close attention to that war (oh my Lord!). She believes that drilling in Alaska's natural splendor is blessed with Providential Approval. She promotes policies based on her unshakable belief that she herself has a direct pipeline (no pun intended) to the Almighty's intentions. What hubris! How dare she hijack and besmirch true belief for the sake of her particular economic predilections.
She mocks community organizing in Southside Chicago--but has she ever set foot in Chicago? She has no idea what it means to organize on the south side of Chicago--nor, I imagine, does her slickly sarcastic speechwriter. How many African-Americans lived in Wasilla during her tenure as major? She hasn't traveled through this great country of ours. She doesn't know its people, doesn't know its amazing and oftentimes vexing diversity. She hasn't traveled anywhere in the world, except one place. She presents herself as an all-American gal, but does she genuinely understand--beyond her own PTA-to-Juneau story--our country's rich and varied and complex history? She recently confessed that she doesn't even understand what the Vice President of the United States does, and her admirers heartily approve of her perversely willful ignorance.
Yes, she can bring a bunch of white people to their feet chanting USA, USA, USA. Good for her. But true leadership in these difficult times will require actual knowledge, not just personality. This world of ours, the past hundred years, has too frequently witnessed the dangers--nay, the evils--of compensatory nativism. Citizens in our own country should have learned one of the major lessons of these last eight years, namely that conviction should not serve as a trump card over competence. To me, Sarah Palin's grin looks like the grin of someone who doesn't feel she needs to think twice before pulling the trigger.

Clinton rejects McCain and Palin
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080905/pl_afp/usvoteclintonmccain
ST PAUL, Minnesota (AFP) - Democrat Hillary Clinton on Thursday rejected John McCain's Republican convention address, and gave her first damning judgement on his vice-presidential running mate Sarah Palin.
"To slightly amend my comments from Denver," the former first lady said in a statement as soon as the Republican nominee finished his speech.
"No way, No How, No McCain-Palin," Clinton said, reprising her top applause line from last week's Democratic convention.
Clinton said that only Barack Obama, who beat her in the bitter Democratic primary and his running mate Senator Joseph Biden, "offered the new ideas and positive change" that America needed.
"After listening to all of the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to fix the economy for middle class families," Clinton said.
She also commented that McCain offered no plan for quality affordable health care for all Americans, to guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, or to "restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces."

Well last night I was on a borrowed computer, and had to give it up before I was quite ready. At one point the broadcast switched to a camera that must have been on a crane or at the very top of the stadium.
It was enlightening to see all the empty upper tiers. I don't know how many people the hockey stadium holds, but the Convention attendees seemed to be very few in that vastness.
The young men protesters who had the "You can't win an occupation" and "McCain votes against vets" banner were all by themselves high up.
Of course, they were very quickly joined by "security" people.

Sarah Palin: The Face of Ugly Americanism
by John Seery
This is the first person who sees Sarah Palin exactly the way I do. I really couldn't understand what the Media pundits, and others were swooning over. In fact, she is already looking goofy, kind of like a trained seal, clapping, and with that sickening grin pasted on her face, and the sonorous voice! Not to mention the beehive hair-do from the 60s. Yuck! Beauty really does lie in the eye of the beholder.
The whole RNC was nauseating. They were like kids going na na na na na to the Democrats, and they copied most of what the Democrats did in their convention, except that the RNC seemed so staged, while the DNC came across as more natural. As for Cindy Mc Cain, sorry, but she reminds me of a celluloid doll that had one too many facelifts. I didn't pay much attention to Mc Same's speech, because he has this annoying way of talking through clenched teeth in a monotone voice, which makes for a very dull speaker, and he rambles, but at the end of his speech when he kept repeating "stand up, stand up....", it was as though, he wanted to soar, but couldn't quite get off the ground. It sounded like he couldn't muster the strength needed to power the words, yet the crowds kept cheering, without really hearing what he was saying. It was kind of sad really.
Karen, Obama has the numbers 4/8 very prominent in his birthdate. 8/4/1961 = 8/4/8. but it all comes out to 2. 8 I think is the number of wealth, and 4 signifies a solid foundation. I don't know what 2 stands for.

Karen, I don't know what the number 44 signifies, but I was struck by that fact. Palin has a lot of 11s around her, and of course, 4 x 11 = 44. Could you imagine if she ended up being the 44th President? Perish the thought. She would be a Hitler.

OMG! I just realized that Mc Same's birthday is 8/29, and Sarah's is 2/11.
29 = 11. Also, Sarah eloped with her future husband on Aug 29 (Mc Same's b'day), not the year of course, and he announced her VP candidacy also on Aug 29! Is there a fated connection here? No wonder, he picked her. Who knows, he may be passing the baton to her! I won't think about it.

Bob Nicewander...so do you think Hillary is going to take pallid Palid on for the boyz? I would probably pay to see that. Please expound more on what you're seeing, the whole Uranus rx. didn't hold up to the ephemeris test Sally checked out and various retrogrades didn't bear out that a Uranus Rx means we get the old guard. I think Obama's camp would like to have Hillary pitted against Palin as she could cast aspersions or deliver rebuttals in language that might draw charges of misogyny or perceived of having misogynistic connections if used by a man.
The conjunction of Sun, Mars, and Saturn in Palin's chart could be an indication of a very tough cookie. Hillary, with Mars conjunct Pluto can give as good as she gets and can say things regarding Palin using lanquage and in a manner (accompanied by a certain look for instance) or in a certain tone of voice that would more likely be tolerated coming from a woman towards another woman that would not be accepted in the same way if coming from a man.
The term "good old boys" although not normally thought of in that way may be considered sexist and from the number of times I have read of it being used in connection with Mrs. Palin's dealings in Alaskan politics I believe the Republican party (in this particular case), looking for whatever edge they can find, will seek to use the jingoistic term to help define her as an agent of change or reform as it is more colorful than the plain vanilla "shake up the status quo".
Colorful catchwords and phrases used to arouse the rank and file are in the toolboxes of both sides but may be perceived differently when sexual underpinnings are introduced. To make it brief, in this case, it may be easier to "fight fire with fire".

Thank you Sally for the kind referral in your earlier blog.
As always my measurements are in right ascension and may differ in dates from longitudinal measurements especially in the case of Pluto and the Moon. In Palin's chart Pluto is shown to be at 13°28' Virgo when the "true body" position of Pluto was at 20°31' Virgo. Even a transit by a fast moving planet would be seen as different by a matter of days and by a slow moving planet by perhaps months or years.
Palin's Pluto is at 170°30' or 170°31'. Sibly Mars is at 80°35', square within 0°04' or 0°05'. On Oct 31, 2008, transit Saturn and transit Uranus will be in exact opposition at 170°14' and 350°14' respectively - that's 0°17' from exact conjunction and opposition to her Pluto and square to Sibly Mars. Although I believe whatever connotation it may hold will be in force for some weeks and be triggered at times by the faster moving inner planets, or the Moon, the exact transit of her Pluto by Saturn will be Nov 3.
I am using a time of 9:18 am, MST for her chart (my rectification) whatever time is correct the following right ascensions will be close to the exactly correct ones.
Sun 324°23'
Mars 325°54'
Saturn 327°51'
Transit Neptune will be at 323°58' on Nov 5, not quite an exact conjunction but within 2° of 2 of those and 3° of the other.
Transit Neptune will be conjunct her Sun in right ascension on Sep 22 and Dec 12, 2008. Mars Jan 30, 2009, and will station within 0°15' on Nov 4 and 5, 2009. Neptune will be conjunct her natal Saturn on Mar 27 and Aug 4 of 2009.

Okay, the McCain-Walter Reed Middle School backdrop debacle is getting weirder by the second. Now the principal of the school is hammering McCain for using footage of the school during his convention speech without seeking the school's permission.

Palin's Sun/Mars/Saturn conjunction makes her very ambitious, competitive, and not easy to thwart, especially in a fixed sign (Aquarius) - it makes her very determined to succeed at whatever she sets out to do. She has more drive than any of the other Presidential candidates, so she is not going to be easy to stop. Of course, if her Achilles Heel can be found, (and everyone has one) - even Hitler was stopped, but look how much force it took to stop him.

Here's an interesting story which, I think, just goes to prove "spiritual genetics"...how certain traits are passed down/thru families or other close relationships. Remember how much criminal trouble into which the bushies & relatives have diddled & but so the pattern gets repeated in the repub genetic pool & endlessly replicates. I just get this image of a brackish pool with no end of stinky stuff bubbling up thru their communal ooze.
* FDIC shutters Silver St Bank of NV. Andrew K McCain, a son of Repub prez nominee John McCain, sat on the boards of Silver State Bank & of its parent, Silver St Bancorp, starting in Feb but resigned in July citing "personal reasons," corpo filings with the S&E Commission show. Andrew McCain also was a member of the bank's audit committee, responsible for oversight of the company's accounting. This one should be a cakewalk compared to 2004!
I asked the market cashier what she thought of Palin. She didn't know who she was! She wasn't too keen on McCain, wavering on Obama, definitely going to vote. A vegan ( good sign) I approached it gingerly, "don't know your religious persuasion....." Then told her Ms. Palin would end Roe v Wade. Her chin dropped to her chest, then I hit her with the moosehunting, the suit to keep the polar bears off the endangered list........
and finished up with my (Uncle Bob was a crony of Biden's so I KNOW HE"S honest, story)
Voila an informed voter!
We DON"T have to SELL IT, just fill in the blanks left by MSM. Most of these young people, have at least one job, college is just starting, they can't afford cable or satallite......(?)

And here's a comment from a local found on mudflats.wordpress.com/, smokinist blog online from Anchorage!
Sarah Palin…as much as I dislike and mistrust her…is in NO way in the drivers seat here. Her little head is so blown up right about now…she THINKS she is the best thing since sliced bread.
Its the McCain camp keeping her out of the hands of the press…not Sarah. I am not at all sure she understands how difficult that is going to be, and make no mistake….she will have to “meet the press”.
No…McCains handlers dont want her talking. They know she doesnt have a clue, and she hasnt yet understood enough about her own party line to discuss the issues. She doesnt have a freaking clue about the economy…education…health and most importantly, world affairs. Her world view, I have seen it written over and over..is very very small. It centres only around herself, her family, friends…and little bits and pieces of Alaska.
This is so damn frustrating. I got bitched out today, because as was said to me…”you are woman ….you need to support her.” WHY do I need to support her???? Cause she has the same genitalia as I do? I am so sick of this. In the final analysis, this fool could set women back even further.
If she had a shred of decency and 2 braincells, she would have turned John McCain down. Good God she isnt even smart enough to know she is being used. Or worse…she knows and she doesnt care as long as she gets some benefit.

Just read on Star IQ that Sarah Pallin's conjunction of natal Saturn at 25 Aquarius with the U.S.'s moon will give her a solid connection with the U.S. people especially women, also caused me to wonder if she would have an oppressive effect on the people, particular
ly women. I can see how that would be the case.

I woke this morning with questions for Sally, Morgana, Bob, Neo and all you AW intuitives.
First the background. There is no clear predictive for who might win the coming election. Several astrological signatures seem to highlight agressive/waring energies. Cheney and Rice are stoking hellfire with Russia and Iran -- the latter the only reporting to come out of the whitehouse (where's Bush)? So, the questions. . .
Could it be that neither McInsane or Obama will be President? Who, besides Bush/Cheney might that be? Does the US chart reveal anything in this regard?
We've all been focusing on this election, especially Palin who fits perfectly into the delusional mindset that Pluto in Sag has highlighted. In the meantime, we're all going to pick up the tab for Freddie and Fannie's bailouts while promising way over-the-top aid to Georgian defense. Something has been brewing for quite sometime. The American people cannot sustain this, not on piddling wages and an explosively expensive economy. Why are we being broken? It absolutely makes no sense to me, but may -- in some unholy preverse way -- fit perfectly into another "plan."

QOP, you said it all in your 1:47 a.m. post. Besides, Obama is more in touch, and at ease with, his feminine side than Palin is with hers, but most women seem incapable of seeing that.
NOLASharon, I would say that Palin's Saturn conjunction to the US moon would have a depressing/restrictive effect on the female populace, but I believe that the moon in a country's horoscope, also represents the masses.

Loved that post on DailyKos Morgana, but one line in particular jumped out at me - "The lies come easy".
When I looked at Palin's chart, I saw that she had "Moon conjunct Mercury", and the same thing crossed my mind. This conjunction not only facilitates lying, if one chooses to do so, but also allows you to lie convincingly. I think it has something to do with the connection of the brain (Mercury) to the emotions, represented by the Moon. I can hear QOP going yup yup.

Missy palin may be a divine being way down deep inside. On the outside, however, it's my take that's she's a confused little trailor trash boobie. She has no class, manners, education, or living skills as indicated by her dysfunctional family (mccain a simple old pink letch). I'm so reminded of that neat old song during time of the USian's violent & insane war on vietnam: "...You can't even run your own life; I'll be damned if you'll run mine..." You WILL keep your claws off, Missy Trailor.
Now the figure of Jesus had to regularly deal with the politico/religio freaks of his time, too. He would simply pass from among them & go on his way. He did that little trick time after time. Cool, eh?!

Earlier today was reading some right-wing blogs--had to pause for smelling salts and then some hours of gardening mental health therapy.
Wise friend once said to me: Opinions are not based on intelligence. Opinions are based on experience. Intelligence is just used to support or defend opinions.
So true. And experience includes whatever hours and hours are spent listening to the same BS from right-wing radio, etc.
Some years ago I attended a MENSA meeting during which one member gave us a spirited defense of slavery. Intelligence doesn't preclude any craziness,
BTW, at that particular meeting I heartily endorsed the old white guy's proposal of "benificent slavery" and suggested that the slaves should be elderly white men. "They can do light housework," I suggested, "and act as butlers and doormen. They are dignified looking and this will give them interesting employment and care for their later years."
The look on the slavery proponent's face was wonderful to see.

This is a question that should be put forth in the debates. WHich party wi fix this?
I don't need to fact check this,I am living it. I KNOW my income should be double what it is because of the rise in the cost of things. Be sure to read the last paragraph, it is chillingly cynical.(. Hedonics adjusts the prices of goods for the increased pleasure the consumer derives from them. That new washing machine you bought did not cost you 20% more than it would have cost you last year, because you got an offsetting 20% increase in the pleasure you derive from pushing its new electronic control buttons instead of turning that old noisy dial, according to the BLS.)
.
http://www.shadowstats.com/article/56
Payments to Social Security Recipients Should be Double Current Levels
Inflation, as reported by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is understated by roughly 7% per year. This is due to recent redefinitions of the series as well as to flawed methodologies, particularly adjustments to price measures for quality changes. The concentration of this installment on the quality of government economic reports will be first on CPI series redefinition and the damages done to those dependent on accurate cost-of-living estimates, and on pending further redefinition and economic damage.

ANd then there is this............
As mayor of the tiny town of Wasilla, Palin hired the powerful Alaska lobbying firm of Robertson, Monagle & Eastaugh, which had close ties to Republican Rep. Don Young and Sen. Ted Stevens, who is now under indictment for taking illegal gifts. Palin’s Wasilla account was handled by Stevens’s former chief of staff, Steven Silver, one of the firm’s partner.
With the help of the lobbying firm and her annual treks to Washington, Palin secured a stunning $27 million in earmarked funds for Wasilla, a town then with about 6,000 residents.

Well it's official. The Enquirer, dated Sept. 15, has the story about rumours concerning Palin's infidelity.
Biden's Scorpio Mercury, Sun and Venus square Palin's Sun, Mars and Saturn. And from what I can see of Biden's solar return, since he has the only chart that is accurate is that he will probably make it to the White House.
Interesting as well is the number 22 as it pertains to Obama and McCain. Obama's Mars is at 22 Virgo. McCain has a natal opposition with Venus at 22 Virgo in his 12th house and Saturn at 20 Pices in his 6th. Ya' think Obama pisses McCain off or something....?
I just did a reading for a very intelligent woman from Doylestown, PA. She had voted for Bush before and was now sorry she had done so. But! She is very afraid of Obama and all "that government money he is promising to everybody." And, of course, his lack of experience. So she won't vote for him.
I don't know what has to happen to get Obama elected. There is so much crap out there and misunderstanding. He is behind in the polls today by about 3 points. I think we are preaching to the converted on this blog.
Obama being interviewed by bloviating O'Reilly. Obama didn't come off so well...O'Reilly keeps cutting him off and Obama not being to get his message out well...

karen,
As far as who will win, the Uranus-Saturn Opposition on Nov. 4 makes everything about that day unpredictable. Where Uranus is involved, we can literally "expect the unexpected" if such a thing is possible. For all we know, the aspects and energy surrounding one candidate and suggesting that this person will be happy on that night, might just mean that he or she is relieved that the election is over, win or lose. Then again, it might mean optimism going into a close recount, or maybe relief that a nuclear standoff with Russia or China ends without incident. Or maybe a $10 Million Powerball Jackpot win.
Maybe Cheney goes on live TV, actually and officially declares himself "Darth Vader Lord Prime" over the entire US, provoking a same day immediate 25 million man and woman march on DC to demand his ouster. If Obama looks happy and upbeat later that night, he might feel joyful at the massive public response, though he still loses the actual election to McCain because half of those people forgot to vote.
As silly and outlandish as even that sounds, anything is possible, and it probably will not be something that even the most accurately psychic among us could foresee. Hopefully, it works out in our favor, for those of us who support Obama and Biden legitimately hoping that they along with us can and will be beneficial agents of change. But what we would deem more favorable now might be very different by the end of the day on November 4. Who knows?
I do think Palin is very much representative of essence of Jupiter/Pluto in Sagittarius which brings to the forefront the most negative qualities of Sag/Jupiter. She is over the top extreme and reactionary in her beliefs, wanting to force them upon all those who disagree with her. She now embodies the all-too-typical "instant celebritydom" we have noted as being prominent during Pluto's transit of Sag, of people earning instant fame and fortune (Jupiter) while seemingly doing little if anything to truly justify it (think Paris Hilton, or all the Reality TV folk).
Pluto in Sag, and Jupiter/Sag, as we have seen during the eight years of Dubya in the White House, in general doesn't seem to do much in the way of fostering competence on the job and accountable leadership, qualities usually ascribed to Saturn/Capricorn. Competence? Accountability? That's someone else's problem! It seems to be the general undercurrent in Palin's brief political career as well. Ever consider how the fundamentalist Christian doctrine of "Rapture" -- literally being zipped up into the heavens by God and away from a "poisoned" Earth -- seems to fit the times so well?
One might hope that Pluto leaving Sag at the end of November to stay in Capricorn for the next 16 years might suggest the final "letting go" of this type of energy for awhile, something that Palin might be assisting the US collective in summarizing for a sort of "review" at the end of Pluto's transit of Sagittarius. But then Pluto in Capricorn on this go round might deal particularly strongly with the abject failures of our political/governmental system to produce competent leaders who both respect and are made to adhere to the rule of law, in addition to the ridiculous maddening worship of the stupid and willfully ignorant over intelligence and wisdom.
It could very well be that a McCain-Palin administration comes to pass and that we are forced as a nation to deal directly with the consequences of the ignorance that allows this very damaging and self-destructive poor management of our government to perpetuate. Maybe America must truly hit "rock bottom" as Germany, Spain and other once powerful nations did, before we can reach and accomplish the real change that we seek. I'm not saying that things will happen this way, of course, since nothing is written in stone. I'm hoping and working personally to see that we can make the transition peacefully. We all must.

Good points, Neo. Excuse me for a minute but I have to yell (and I'm usually SO well behaved!)
I CAN'T BELIEVE THE U.S. CITIZENS ARE STILL SOOOOOO STUUUPPPPIDDDD! They are believing lies and facades and don't see anything below the surface. Don't they know that we are going to have right wing judges everywhere - on the Supreme Court and at other levels - who will not only reverse R. v. W. but will elevate big business over the little guy, institute religion into our business.
And, Beasley, tell them what my cousin said to tell 'em: If you don't want to vote for Obama, then vote for Joe Biden!!!!

Sally, Morgana, whoever--isn't the Democratic Party going through a Saturn return this year?
I know there's an awful lot of astrological information to interpret here, but might the transits favoring the Democrats suggest that they may gain seats in Congress but lose the White House?
I've been seeing McCain ads on, all places, the freakin' Weather Channel! Where are Obama's ads rebutting this nonsense? McCain's saying an awful lot of stuff people want to hear, but how is it that people can't see through it?
And how is it that people are floored over this woman, Palin, whose church is hosting a convention for a group that is trying to "fix" gays? Is this what we want? Why can't we find a Rev. Wright moment for this? Doesn't this church have anything on YouTube?
I suppose we can hope she makes a mistake, sooner rather than later. Even people who get everything they want make mistakes that cost them. We can only hope that she makes a mistake before it costs us.
Still, I wonder if this year, we're really going to get to see just how bigoted and intolerant we, the American people, really are. Suddenly, it's 1928 again, and because we can't stand the thought of electing a Catholic, we get Hoover, along with a not-so-healthy dose of impeachment insurance.
I hope Obama can turn this around. But this is what it's starting to look like to me.

There is much to suggest that we will see a McInsane/Pain (drop the "l") reign of further terror, Neo. Your analysis was a trigger for one of my thoughts/an intuition of the need for this nation to drop hard from a pedestal that has been built on corruption, slavery, murder, and bad intent.
That anyone anywhere at anytime could see Palin as a viable candidate reflects this country's disgrace. We will get the country we deserve.
I'm not discouraged, rather i'm looking at the media disinformation, the raging rhetoric; listening to the voices of people who again are voicing with conviction (as though the thought were their own)the lines given them by politicians, pastors, and media. The fallout of the truth will be utterly painful to all of us, but particularly those who would reign terror on others for the sake of temporal comfort.

This morning I believe that the gutting of America is finished and we are left with the debts. As one elder said "the debts are socialized, the profits are privatized" and we,my loved ones, are totally fucked.
The news reports that Poland admits to the secret bases where the US held so called enemy combatants and from which they were then flown to other unidentified places. I am afraid that this is in the news because Cheney/Bush/others know that they have won.
Obama keeps moving to the right as if this will help him win and all it does is make people like myself sick and sad.
joannaO-love you. I am reading "The Mists of Avalon" to remind me that there is a deeper reality, a deeper truth than the sicko government and the sicko society we are a part of.

NEOBuckeye- Thank you for that wonderful offering. I also believe that we are "molting"in the process of growing out of the hubris that we have been carrying since we dropped the big one on Japan. We are in the process of realizing that an empire built on slavery and theft cannot stand long. The spiritually developed part of me is at peace with this but the reality of it has thrown me back into the duties of maternity to shelter and nourish my grandchildren and their companions and prepare them for the shift.
I am lit up today: just noticed that progressed mars is entering into the areana of my natal mercury/uranus conjunction which is in square to the transiting saturn uranus opposition-yep I am baited for bear these days. Take heart, fellow Americans, I have had at least 3 women tell me personally in the last few days that they WERE going to vote for McCain but with the addition of Palin, will not be voting for Obama.
All those lies and misinformation put out during the primary, unfortunately, has stuck to Obama, and the Repub ads saying that he will raise taxes are also believed by people.
The television generation!!!! Believing what they hear and see and not delving any deeper.
These are my talking points thus far:
a) we will be that much closer to a religious state
b) the Supreme Court & federal judge appointees will reverse R. v. W. AND support big business instead of the little guy’s rights
c) the Republicans are the ones who ruined the economy & in trying to fix it, they will cut a lot of good programs that give grant money to science and the arts as well as to educate children
d) they will not have a health insurance program for those who need it, but Obama will (sliding scale)
e) they want to privatize social security causing retirees to gamble with their bread and butter money
f) They lie. Do you read any smears over the internet about McCain? No, because Democrats don’t do this like Republicans do. Karl Rove is still in control of the campaign strategies and he has no morals. Two innocent leaders were put in jail because of his lies and he has done untold damage, including helping to create a strategy to rig the elections 2000 & 2004 elections.

Sharon, that first paragraph confuses me: are these women NOT voting for Obama, or voting for him? If they're not voting for Obama, that's no reason for me to take heart.
Those are good talking points. You might add:
--Gov. Palin opposes the right to choose even in the case of rape or incest;
--She also said that it was God's will for us to be in Iraq;
--McCain wants to tax employers--and us--for health insurance benefits; this could encourage small businesses in particular to drop health coverage altogether for their employees; as a self-employed person, this will make health insurance even less affordable for me.
Personally, I think it's sad that some people on the left are not voting for Obama because he's not liberal "enough." I can tell you, that won't matter to the Republicans; they'll try to paint him as a lefty no matter what he does or says now. Even Obama moving to the right is better than either McCain or Palin.

What I meant, Gina, was that people who were going to vote for McCain are now voting for Obama (and in some cases, Joe Biden - LOL).
I agree and think it's sad that anyone would be so petty as to not vote Democratic because of some Naderian reason they have or because they wanted Hillary & think she was treated bad. I am just so mad at people who can't see the forest but only see the trees! Many voted for Nader for a poor reason, thinking they could change the system, and it hurt the country so much. Until we have enough people to change the system, the lesser of two evils candidates need all the votes they can get (and I don't think Obama/Biden are evil in the least).

I think we all realize that something, somewhere has to give, and that the US as it stands now, cannot possibly go on.
Despite all the mounting evidence and all the obvious indications that we are running out of natural resources, poisoning our atmosphere, encouraging major climate change via global warming and destroying our environment, the United States has fallen under the spell of its own hubris, apparently believing that we are somehow big enough and powerful enough to create our own reality, simply by denying the "real" reality and that nothing else matters.
This perception is both fostered and perpetuated by a fierce, fatalistic and relentless minority of desperate, ultra-reactionary conservatives, some of them "Christian" in name only and are in actuality the antithesis of Christ in every way, some of them extremely selfish, opportunistically vile and dishonorable such as Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and Rupert Murdoch who care nothing for the true "greater good" of Americans or Humanity in general, especially if it gets in the way of their destructive ideologies and profiteering schemes. These people have come to wield tremendous power and influence over our governments, schools, hospitals and other public institutions. With the media in their hands, they literally wield the power to craft and shape the American mind and have done so effectively and with a frightening degree of success, perhaps surpassing even that of the Nazis over Germany.
The sheer arrogance, fanaticism and boundless determination of the Reactionary Republicans to get what they want, regardless of who or what they harm in the process, while they are in control of the US, leaves us as a nation ill-prepared for the times ahead. Even as much as I support Obama and believe that many of us are ready for the changes that are well past due, I don't see the people who have looted and pillaged this land going away quietly. This is exactly why impeachment and removal of Bush and Cheney from office, followed by their prosecution and conviction for War Crimes and Crimes Against Peace is so critical. If we don't hold them accountable for all their wrongdoings, then all other laws are rendered meaningless, and we literally give the green light to further and even more extreme abuses of power in the future. If we don't draw the line here, then where? If not now, then when?
Facing and neutralizing their abuse of power alone, much less their ability to cause further harm will be an extremely intense and demanding challenge, even while we deal with the reality of Oil scarcity and its' impact upon our infrastructure, in addition to climate change, and finding workable solutions to the above. Welcome to the 2010s. A McCain-Palin Presidency could very well be representative of the worst of Pluto in Capricorn, brutally oppressive, attempting to enforce an ultra-conservative status quo, even as that status quo literally collapses under its' own dead weight of ineffectiveness, irrelevance and corruption. But then we will also have Uranus in Aries, last in effect during the 1930s during the Great Depression, bringing once again an explosive (perhaps in literal terms) revolution of new ideas, technology and "people power" to match.
So, what do you suppose might happen when Uranus and Pluto BOTH make exact hits on the US Sun AND the Republican Sun in Cancer, mid-decade?

I don't think I have posted this before as I was anticipating something far worse than what happened. Remember the news account about some members of a fringe group who were arrested in Denver during the DNC, one of whom said he was there to assassinate Obama? Knowing this aspect was going to be exact on Aug 31 I feared it might play out in someway a few days before (or within a few minutes of arc) of being exact.
Transit Saturn was going to conjoin his natal Pluto in right ascension. What did happen a few days before exactness was McCain's announcement of Mrs. Palin as his running mate. The announcement drew the media's and the country's attention away from the Democratic National Convention and Obama so much so that they have almost become invisible. He still has the transit of Saturn to his progressed Pluto coming up on Sep 14.
Now for the good news.
Mrs Palin has the same transit coming up but closer to the election - MUCH CLOSER! Saturn will conjunct her progressed Pluto (in right ascension remember) on Oct 25 and will join with natal Pluto on NOV 3 and 4!
The conjunction with her progressed Pluto on Oct 25 may have fallout which affects McCain as Saturn will conjoin his progressed Neptune on Oct 27 and 28, just a week before the election.
Perhaps his progressed Venus plays a part in this as it will be at 260°34' on Oct 25. 260°34' - 90° = 170°34'. Transit Saturn will finish the day at 169°43', less than 1° in an applying square.
The exact square of transit Saturn to his progressed Venus will be on Nov 4.
Election day for Obama.
Using the 7:24 pm birth chart:
Obama's natal ascendant in Honolulu has a right ascension of 320°30'.
His progressed Moon at 6 am, Nov 5, 2008 AHST, (10 AM, CST) will be at
318°29'. Transit Jup/Ura midpoint will be at 319°37'.
Obama's precession corrected anlunar located to Chicago (where
he will probably be election day and the day after) begins Oct
26 at 0:49:18, CST. The right ascension of the MC being 049°42'.
At 10 am, Nov 5, transit Jupiter will be at 289°05', trine the MC.
The W.Pt (90 degrees from the MC in right ascension) of the anlunar
is 319°42'. Transit Jupiter/Uranus midpoint will be 319°37'. The
Zenith of the anlunar is 060°40'. Transit Sun/Venus midpoint will be
on the Nadir at 060°57'.
From the progression of this anlunar it appears that he may not
receive a concession call from his opponent until near sunrise
or a little later on Nov 5th.
Progressing the anlunar to Nov 5 at:
8:30 am CST, yields RAMC of 179°00'.
His progressed Sun will be 178°23'.
E.Pt 269°00'.
Anlunar Pluto 269°02'
10:00 am CST, RAMC of 179°45'.
Anlunar Venus rises at 179°46'.
11:30 am CST, RAMC of 180°30'.
Prog anlunar Venus rises at 180°19'. Anlunar Moon on MC at 180°31'.
Relocating the The 8:30 am, CST progressed anlunar to Honolulu
yields a RAMC of 108°47' on the MC. Transit Jupiter is on the IC at
109°05'. Natal Merc/Ven on the MC at 108°24'.
All in all, not connections to the angles I would expect to see in the
chart of a loser.

Well, if Obama wins, we can say we heard it first here. Not the first time we've seen the specific prediction--but this is the first time I've seen it from Bob's perspective.
Bob, what I'm taking from your post is that Obama's message will have a limited impact at least till next week; maybe after then, the bloom might be starting to come off the rose for Gov. Palin. Till then, it's lots of hard work for Obama--trying to recover from being "blindsided (the term I read here on this blog)," and sharpening his message.
I saw Obama on Countdown tonight. It's probably a good thing he doesn't think like me, in that my initial reaction was that he was going against basic psychology; I watched it again and thought that maybe it's intentional.
The way I see it is that if we elect McCain, it will be for the same reason that people stay in bad relationships and dead-end jobs: it's familiar. Listening to Obama, I began to think that maybe he understands this and is pushing against this human tendency.
If he can fight this tendency and win, we all might be the better for it.

Whew, Bob. . .you are quite the mathematician! Like Beasley, i don't really understand, but am a tad more hopeful.
And Neo. Whew. Love your posts. The last coincided with another one of kooky karen's dreams.
Walked into a restaurant. Two women were talking loudly about supporting McInsane/Pain. I went to the table leaned down and said in an equally loud voice. "Yes, i too am going to vote republican. The fundamentalists are right. Jesus wants us to fight for God. So, we must stop abortion. We need bodies for God's wars throughout the world. Jesus will forgive us for killing and maiming the innocents.
"In order to fully win our war on terror God will require you to surrender all your assets to his chosen people -- the republican party -- in order to realize this ultimate goal. God will also require some of you to work in munitions plants, oil fields, and farms. You, of course, will work for free because of your love for Jesus and his chosen people."
There was more to the dream, but this was the guts of it. I woke knowing i had to develop this theme, write and submit. But, this morning, i wanted to share.

The chart for the att*ck on Iraq relocated to the geographic center of the contiguous 48 states (use Lebanon, KS) and progressed to noon, CST on Nov 4, 2008 has a RAMC of 350°03'. Transit Uranus at 350°10' opposes transit Saturn at 170°35' on the MC - IC axis of that chart and progressed Moon setting at 350°10'. The progressed att*ck chart has a conjunction of Moon with Mars both at 284°24' opposite Sibly Sun at 104°17'. I think the last configuration shows the publics' dissatisfaction and anger with the no end in sight w*r and its cost in lives and dollars. If McSame doesn't change his stance on the w*r he will lose as the bankruptcy of the country becomes more revealed between now and the election

Palin's troubles could derive from several sources. The investigation of some of her actions as Governor of Alaska, possible revelation about an affair with an ex-business partner of her husband (McCain camp has threatened a lawsuit against the National Enquirer but do they really want to put that front and center in the news between now and the election?), or a showcasing of her abilities (or lack thereof) as an administrator

Bob, I have never encountered a filter here and I have used the F bomb when overly excited.
Karen,Beasley if you recall that the circle has 360 degrees and begins at 0 and each sign has 30 degrees you will find that Bob's way of presenting positions is very easy to understand. think of high school geometry. You may feel awkward at first but remember 0-30 is Aries,30-60 is Taurus, etc. Bob's way makes it easy to see aspects but harder to see signs until you have the numbers down.
Any way, Bob thanks for the info on the aspects. the days since Palin entered the play have been dark ones indeed. I am horrified that US women believe that she represents them. I can accept tht right wing christian women what I can't accept is that there are enough of that group to sway the balance.

Dear Mr. Nicewander and Clymela,
I understand the math, not to worry. I have used it in computation many times to figure verteces and parts of fortune, etc. But thanks for your desire to help.
The Polls, the polls! I just wrote the Obama campaign and told them to start fighting back with some 527 zingers. I also donated...again.
It just seems like same old, same old....I can't let myself get so into it that I go into a depression like I did after the last two elections. What frustrates me is that the Rovian tactics always work with the general American population. Where are the thinking human beings in this country...what gives here?!

Heard one item on TV news today(can't remember which channel)that said the polls were dependent on which questions were asked (duh!) However, what caught my attention was that apparently in polls where the questions pertained to the Issues, good news is that Obama is way, way, ahead still. Bad news is that on "image," McCain/Palin are ahead, as was the case with Bush versus Gore, and look what happened.
I sure hope that with the approaching Capricorn Pluto influence, there will be more people inclined to serious thought on issues and structure, rather than image.

Yes and my Father was expelled from high school too. He was a Scorpio, a Saint, and a Gentleman!
Come to think of it....he did spend a year in Prep school. in MD. He used to take us there for picnics, when the wild strawberries were ripe.
If you want to go on record w ith your opinion of Palin........e-mail womensaynopalin@gmail.com. It will direct you to
http://womenagainstsarahpalin.blogspot.com, where you can have your say. I sent it to those of you on my e-mail list..........
I got a sense last night that the MSM really is on the story. CNN & MSNBC. And Madow with her new show pulls no punches. I read somewhere KO himself requested to be taken off the election beat.?????
SO we are stuck with "
Stretch", "dances with Rove"

Yes Olberman and Matthews will not be anchoring the MSNBC election coverage. We are told that they will be available for analysis and commentary. I imagine they will encounter a lot of the usual "oh!! we have to go to commercial. Thank you for that insight!!"
I hope that people get more thoughful too. I magine they will as they continue to pay off bills-bankruptcy has been made unavailable to working people thanks to the voting ofBarack Obama and the other Dems ( but we can protect BearStearns/and Fannie & Freddie). Many wage earners will find themselves with no cash to buy the essentials but they will be forced to pay off those credit cards/outrageous mortgages/car payments needed so that they can get to work.
Pluto in Cap will first seem to favor the bosses, the royalty, etc but eventually the masses will wake up to what has happened and there will be hell to pay for those who fooled us under the pluto in Sag period. I wouldn't want to be a mega-church preacher at that point.

Right, Crystal. Thomas Edison was expelled, too. His teacher told Mrs. Edison that young Tom was too stupid to learn anything.

Why do pink boyz make up rules for a game if they don't intend to follow them. Oh, I'll answer that...more fun that way.

Who was handling the investigation that resulted in the news today about corruption at the Interior Dept? Is it the likes of Leahy or Kucinich or Bayh or in other words people we have reason to believe or is this a last ditch attempt to get the polar bear off the endangered species list?
From what I have read the past eight years have been dedicated to selling the US to the highest bidders and most of that is still hidden.

I read today, on Daily Kos I think it was, that Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) had a lot to do with uncovering the scandal at the Interior Dept.
I'm guessing that the people Bush hired to run the Interior Dept. were oil company hacks and not longtime public servants. I'm also guessing that their qualifications for their jobs consisted of: 1) their coziness with the energy companies and 2) their position on Roe v. Wade.
Not that Qualification #2 had anything to do with their jobs: it's just the question everybody seems to get when applying for a job in the Bush Administration.

Obama is doing great on the service forum that's on right now on CNN. He is so much more presidential than McCain.

NOLASharon, I lasted watching McCain only a minute or so, soon as he started whining about Obama not joining him in Town Hall rigged meetings, yet again, oh giant waaahhh.
Obama seemed very comfortable, Service is in his wheel house. I did not get the exact time he started speaking since I hopped back from watch the weather channel and Hurricane Ike.
