HEARRRRRS JOHNNY

"Democracy is buying a big house you can't afford with money you don't have to impress people you wish were dead. And, unlike communism, democracy does not mean having just one ineffective political party; it means having two ineffective political parties. ...Democracy is welcoming people from other lands, and giving them something to hold onto -- usually a mop or a leaf blower. It means that with proper timing and scrupulous bookkeeping, anyone can die owing the government a huge amount of money. ... Democracy means free television, not good television, but free. ... And finally, democracy is the eagle on the back of a dollar bill, with 13 arrows in one claw, 13 leaves on a branch, 13 tail feathers, and 13 stars over its head -- this signifies that when the white man came to this country, it was bad luck for the Indians, bad luck for the trees, bad luck for the wildlife, and lights out for the American eagle." Johnny Carson

Here we are in a count down to Feb. 5 and Super Tuesday and the writers are out on strike, including the comedy writers. Who will mark time and tell us the truth about this messy run-up to Super Tuesday, it’s for sure to be a hilarious ride.

From Poor Richard’s Almanac right on down to Jon Stewart, we, the unwashed masses, have been treated to a level of comedy reminding us that we are not insane, it’s really the politicians and this political system. Late night comedy is a good thing; it’s good to go to bed on a laugh.

What a game we all play around the world, we know we are being lied to and stolen from by our politicians yet we pretend we don’t know and keep looking for that perfect candidate (if we really found one they would kill him/her instantly) the candidate who will spend their time and money working for the people with a level of integrity.

And now the race is on and I for one need the comedians. Generations before us have wrung their hands and lived with anxiety, believe me laughter will serve us all much better.

Feb. 5, 2008 will be the largest Super Tuesday ever and some pundits have renamed it Super Duper Tuesday with 24 states holding primaries and over half the delegates will be determined. This will be some day with the lead up to it placing nervous break-down kind of pressure on the candidates as they traverse the states and do all they can to stop the dirty tricks coming toward them. The ink isn’t even cold on the ballots in New Hampshire and it’s already being challenged by both Dem and GOP. It isn’t the people that government is using their extraordinary talent for mendacity, corruption and grubby grabbing for their prize, oh no, those talents will be turned on each other.

Jupiter in Capricorn is in its fall and I don’t think of Jupiter in Capricorn as being particularly funny, but he will be this year for sure. There are so many states and I just kind of lumped them together and will look at individual states as they come up. But for the Super Duper Day I took 7:00am Washington, DC. Aquarius is the sign that seems to be ruling the day with an unfortunate VOC Moon. The Moon is VOC for the day however it does conjunct Pluto in the US Chart in the 2nd house, this primary day is costing us, the people, a ton of money. The concentration of planets in Aquarius (five including NN and Chiron) actually favor John Edwards the most, but I think it’s unlikely that the “private” companies counting our votes will let that happen, none the less the planets favor Edwards on Feb. 5, all in a trine to his Gemini plus Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) trines his natal Uranus and it’s nearly exact. If Edwards did sweep the primaries that would indeed make Jupiter in Capricorn a very very funny God indeed and absolutely return his rightful Greek Olympian name – ZEUS.

Chiron will conjunct the Sun in the Super Tuesday Chart, oppose Hillary’s Pluto and square her Venus; a wounding is coming her way I fear. Neptune is also at 21 degrees Aquarius, squaring her Mercury and opposing her Saturn, this is an aspect that has been marching toward her since last August and it has the potential of uncovering some less than savory information at the last minute. This Washington Post article might be pointing the way to her problems http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/01/12/taken_for_granite.html

Obama doesn’t get a pass on primary day, however he is in a much better position on the 5th from an energetic point and Edwards with all his Gemini is in a stellar energetic position for a win. That will be a real steep mountain climb for John and Elizabeth, there is no doubt the corporate elite is after him and intends to completely cut him out, wipe his name off the consciousness of the voters. His name will not be on any polls, not in many articles, hardly any media exposure, oh no the DLC and the power brokers will erase his name off the rolls. John and Elizabeth Edwards are pretty smart people and I would not think they will go gently or quietly into the good night.

For the rest of us, some unpleasant truths we have been avoiding are on their way out into the light of day in 2008. The outer planets are driving us now and the Saturn opposite Neptune is first up and will show us that our country has been sold lock, stock and barrel, to China, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Russia, Germany, England, Israel, and Mexico are the big players. They own our mortgaged homes, our ports, our energy, our water, our clothes, our credit cards, our banking, our food, our medicines, our minerals and Wall Street, these countries own us and as a country we need to get our mind around that fact so we can individually make the best plans for ourselves going into the future.

Mars opposition to Pluto three times is next and carries frustrated and explosive violence in its passage. Down the road a bit is Saturn oppose Uranus. This is one of the nastiest aspects in astrology and is associated with assassinations, revolutions, financial collapse at its worst and instability at its best, wars and civil wars, so you can see how difficult it will be to navigate ourselves through this aspect. On the positive end of those aspects is Saturn/Neptune is finding our true connection to our divinity and the divinity of those around us; the Saturn/Uranus opposition is how to take responsibility for our own lives and actions and what that means. Hillary has planets directly in alignment with both those transits. She said in NH that “after spending a week there, she has found her voice.” Gee, if I had known a woman could find their voice with just a week in NH, I would have gone there years ago. Well, she is about to get the opportunity to find “herself” and that will unfold over the next several years whether she is President or not. When Neptune hits 21 degrees Aquarius Mercury stands with him, Hillary will receive a big message and I don't think it will be one she likes.

Ben Franklin once said “those who think money is everything will do anything to get the money.” We are about to find out the truth of that statement for our individual selves and for the global corporations or those who want to be global.

The final straw to Super Tuesday is at least 40 percent of the major Asteroids are in aspect to at least one of the planets operating on that day and The Year of the Rat will have begun, the last time the Rat was on the scene, we as a country, elected Bill Clinton, no wonder we feel like we are always going around in circles. http://www.chinesezodiac.com/rat.php
“You want to invite the gods to your party of life, if you don’t they will come anyway and be in a mood to make mischief. “

History teaches us that with ups and downs life goes on. There has always been the down times when questioning this truth is in question. We are in one of those times. Corrupt politicians aren’t a new phenomenon and didn’t just come with Hoover or Reagan or Bush; trashing the planet isn’t new, mass murders by governments aren’t new. While millions of us were working two or three jobs to survive others were scratching in the dirt and garbage to survive and some of us just never even scratched at all.

The long running aspects are over-arching and affecting every aspect of our lives. It's hard to tell exactly which aspect, what event, what person or what year the dissent began in the US but it's for sure the dissent is here and the message is clear to leave the past behind and do all we can to bring a positive future toward us. While we are dithering over Hillary crying (fake or real) and whether Obama was nice enough to her on stage, or whether Edwards is getting the corporate shaft (lord they hate him) GWB is over in the Middle East trying to drum up his Arab allies support to bomb Iran. "Bring in the clowns, there ought to be clowns, don't bother they're here."

This was one of my favorite poems when I was a child and its truth and power is as strong today as it was then. I always found it to be good advice. Hope you do too.

THEN LAUGH

Build for yourself a strong box,
Fashion each part with care;
When it’s strong as your hand can make it,
Put all your troubles there;
Hide there any thought of your failure,
And each bitter cup that your quaff;
Lock any heartaches within it,
And sit on the lid and laugh.

Oh, nice, Cap'n Sally, very nice! I'm going to have to go back and read it at least twice it's so nice.

And if you'll go here, I think you'll agree that we can look back with nostalgia at the time we used to worry about what the meaning of "is" is.
http://emptywheel.firedoglake.com/2008/01/13/cia-inspector-general-we-never-had-any-torture-tapes/#more-1648

Madness. It's just madness. And the Grand Manipulators are not even pretending any more that they are trying to do nothing more than manipulate us (referencing the black-out of Edwards here). Just as the massive out-pouring around the globe prior to the Eye-rack attack, with millions of people taking to the street to march and show their opposition--just as that was ignored, didn't mean a damn thing. Nope, sure didn't.

tjf [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hi Sally,

It sounds like the year ahead promises to be very strange indeed. We will surely need a strong sense of humor to get through this election season. I don't have much hope that the problems of our democracy can be solved through elections. That's certainly not a reason not to vote, just to keep our expectations reasonable.

I gather from what you say here that you would find the Saturn/Uranus opposition more difficult than Saturn/Neptune, or am I misinterpreting what you are saying?

I think John Lennon really summed it up all very well when he said "our society is run by insane people for insane objectives." I used that line in my latest essay which I want to share with you all. I was really psyched to find it here:
http://questionscritiques.free.fr/edito/CP/Kant_John_Lennon_Paix_Perpetuelle_221207.htm

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Johnny Carson said all that? I would never have thunk. He was a pretty insightful man. And I never noticed all those things on a dollar bill(guess I just spend it), and why 13 of everything? Thought the number 13 is universally looked upon as unfortunate. Anyway Sally, thanks for the informative article, and that wonderful little poem for all time. We certainly need it in these times.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Looks to me like this year will be a very eventful one with sweeping, maybe even revolutionary changes(Pluto entering a new sign). Plus 2 eclipses in Feb.(2/7 & 2/21), and 2 more in August(8/1 & 8/16). All these factors make for interesring events, impacting everything - from the economy, to the outcome of the elections.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Crystal, there were 13 original colonies: New Hampshire, Massachusetts,
Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia.

Rudi just made a faux. He said "I want you to remember that Fla. "counts". (NT!)
What a dweeb! Hanging out all month down there where its warm with his gangsta buddies!

CNN seems to be giving Edwards a break. Wolf interviewed him at noon, ( favorably) & they have a reporter imbedded with his campaign.
I have gone back and read the article here, several times today between tasks. It is very comforting, Sally!
The washington Post Article about the after primary conflict over abortion is so shortsighted. Is it the Pluto in Virgo? all these people staring at 3 sq." of bark, while missing the forest.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh, you are on a roll today, QOP. I'll chuckle over those 3 sq ins of bark for hours. And, yeah, barking at the moon, too, aren't they? (Wimmin scares 'em.)

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

When it comes to elections, politicians and political pundits, I think they have always been staring at "3 square" of bark." The myopia in this country is mind numbing for sure. To me it is not to be belived. I listen to these guys and think "huh?" They either have no clue or just do what Rush does and talk out of their butts.

Women for sure scare them, always have. I am not a Hillary fan but the guys don't get why women are angry and will come out for her if necessary. They might find "wimmin" blowing up and boiling over. Look at who they ask about the "women" vote, or what women should do with their bodies or how significant is the women factor in the US - other men. There is about 1 woman pundit to 20 men on any given week.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks for that information shylurker. That tells you how ignorant I am of American history. Wasn't born or raised here, but that's no excuse. You can be sure I'll remember it now! Hahahaha.

Saw this witty little quip on the net:

The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth, after we're through with it.

Teresa [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thank you for the article, Sally. Any idea on when the writers' strike might end? The thought of reality shows and more political programs are almost enough to make me throw out my tvs. I do plan on spending more time at the library.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Teresa, I pour over the writer's strike charts. I have all the major players charts (the producers who are holding it all up and the head of the WGA) and the day and time the strike began. They went on strike just before Mars went retrograde, my concern was without a settlement before Mars went retro then it would be the end of January 1st of February. They have had little windows of opportunity to clean this up and things have happened during those little windows and then it would all stop.

There is another window this next week and the DGA (Directors Guild) is going to try for a settlement (they are due to strike this spring) the DGA has a lot of power and they have always been very successful in settling, they have said that they are very conscious of the WGA and SAG needs so I have hopes. They went into talks with the AMPTM this weekend.

It's a bad situation with a lot of people getting hurt, the producers want to break the unions but we will have to see. There is quite a lot of information on Nikki Finke's blog
"Deadline Hollywood Daily" http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/
She is touted to be the best information site on what is going on in entertainment. I so want this over as do thousands of others.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Teresa, I switched to the Food Network when Bush was elected I have become a better and healthier cook for it. Plus I kept my sanity.

Sally thanks for the quick peek at the days to come. I always enjoy the way you connect the dots, and who would have thought Johnny Carson was so prescient. Zeus, wasn't he the sire of Athena we could sure use more of Her!

Crystal, I'm nosy...where were you born and raised?

lunaoscura [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Tom Hanks has lent his voice to urge management to show fair bargaining practices and thereby end up allowing the Oscars to be held this year. Being one of their biggest box office money making stars ought to carry some weight!

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Check it out... way down toward the middle of the article I saw this gem. Wonder what percent of that went into our foods? Arghhhh.

Last year more than 73 percent of U.S. corn acres were planted with biotech varieties, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture. In 2006, biotech crop acreage globally reached 252 million acres in 22 countries, according to the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080114/sc_nm/seeds_drought_dc_1

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm afraid more went into our food Morgana than I care to consider. In mundane astrology the 6th house rules military, service, jobs and to a lesser extent food. The US 6th house is ruled by Taurus and I wonder if all this biotech foods will blow up when Pluto opposes Venus (ruler of Taurus) I think it will be an issue.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh, but Cap'n Sally, it's only KILLING us. Seriously, when does Pluto oppose that Venus? Sad to say this is just one more area where we can cross our fingers that blowback will occur.

And while I'm on this tack, you've said, Cap'n Sally, that all the disgusting stuff will keep oozing and oozing out and 2009 will be a gusher (you didn't use those terms--but I understood you to say something similar). Does that mean, then, that unlike the BCCI and Iran-Contra investigations shut-down thanks to Bill Clinton, and the Impeachment-is-off-the-table pronouncements of one Major Disappointment Pelosi, et al. will come to an end and 2009 will bring investigations that this country sorely needs?

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm not sure it will be shut down Shy, more like a complete crumbling away of any trust toward those who have set themselves up to be judge and jury of our lives. All the slime has been oozing out since 2001, too much to even keep up with, and there is more coming. We will all, or most, see how we've played ourselves for fools and let ourselves be used and payed for it all. There will be some huge blowback around the world. There will be attempts to control the masses but I think the masses will overwhelm them. The one thing that concerns me is will there be people who do step in and throw the bums out who will just be as power hungry and greedy as the bunch we have now. I don't know. Humanity has so many diverse and opposite needs, no one group can meet them all, it has to be a change of consciousness in all of us, from top to bottom. An understanding of value and respect for everyone's values. That will be a tall order.

Ya know.........I have been boycotting Fritolay for about 20 years now! Do you remember Eagle snacks? ( by Anheiser Busch) They went belly up in the late 80's, and all of a sudden there was a proliferation of Fritolay products; ( Texas based) taking over the shelves....It was even difficult to find Borden's Wise Potato chips at times. Figuring (correctly) that it would enable them to jack up their prices I stopped buying. Look at all those, corn based products they are shoving down our throats today! I'm hard pressed in my area to find a crunchy that isn't corn based, here. I grabbed a buncha crunchies in Tannersville NY to bring home ( NY sesame bagel chips Stella Doro bread sticks.)
I am tasked with bringing crunchy snacks to our librarian's retirement party next month. I think I'll see what I can invent that doesn't involve corn!

gaddummit, Sally. . .this is good. I too had to reread. Events are spewing out of the volcano. Hot lava changing the landscape, wiping out and rebuilding. Yet, the question you ask is pertinent. Will those who rebuild be any less prone to misuse of power? History doesn't provide a very comforting answer in this regard, sadly.

And, Pat, Ms. QOP I'm one of those dang Saturn in Virgo people which is definitely manifest in my personality including a fetishness about the food i eat and a distrust of the medical profession. Oops. And yes that 3 sq in. of bark can fascinate me for hours and hours. Thankfully, ye' ol Gemini Sun conjuncts Uranus in Cancer giving the heave-ho to in-the-bark thinking. bwahahahahahahaha

Want to take homemade garlic/rosemary crackers to the library fete? Email me and i'll share the very easy recipe.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

And, I have neptune in virgo.........one of the things I have to watch out for is getting caught up in too much detail when I am painting! ( Not to mention the German blood from my Mother's side.) I observed while in the German pavillion at the NY World's Fair, ( was that '64?) that they had a fanatical obsession with little appendages that go tweet; cukoo clocks.)
Now that we're discussing it, I am going to start a series of paintings focusing on, 2 sq' or so of water.
I also mistrust the medical profession, ( based on solid emphiric experience of their failures) The truly PLUTO in VIRGO people, are slavishly devoted to the miracle of modern medicine, and follow it religiously! ( For them.....Good Housekeeping stopped publishing a monthly novel in favor of a rah rah, article focusing on the body, diet exercise etc.!)
My daughter being in the 3rd month of the first year when pluto entered Virgo, is balencedly sceptical of the medical profession, but is an unrepentant clean freak, sometimes to the detriment of the WHOLE schedule picture!
I will e-mail for the cracker recipe, sounds good!
When I was having my teeth capped I couldn't eat sugar, and got a recipe for little square wheat crackers that I made without the sugar.I've lost it and everything I have tried so far falls short of desirable!

Rat Heart Created Using Baby Rats’ Cells
By LAWRENCE K. ALTMAN
Published: January 14, 2008

Medicine’s dream of growing new human hearts and other organs to repair or replace damaged ones received a significant boost Sunday when University of Minnesota researchers reported success in creating a beating rat heart in a laboratory.

Remember that even though we think our daily activities and correspondence isn't being illigal in any way, we aren't the ones who get to decide that. There is a reason this is being done and it isn't to track terrorism, it's to track us, the people. There is something in the works and these conditions with the Patriot Act and things like this is to keep the people from communicating or creating anything that might resemble a protest to the actions of a dictatorship.

The posting on dems underground is part and parcel of the new addendums to homeland security. This too is designed to quarantine the masses from one another, to keep us in perpetual fear and not of our government but of one another. Just think, don't like your neighbor? Call the authorities and tell on 'em for any ol' thing. Certainly unamerican activities cover lots of ground. Yes, i too believe something's up. Yet, i'll just bet that no one on this board will go quietly -- or volunatarily -- into that good night.

I think one chilling thing i read (can't remember where) was that torture was highly effective when the victim was released back into the community to tell the story of their torture. Makes people compliant right away.

They're saying Mt. St. Helen's erupting:

Jeepers, I've been trying to send that message since 10 o' clock this morning, but I had some other stuff attached to it, and I kept getting a 406 error message telling me that I was using "bad" words, or some content that was not allowed, but I couldn't figure out which word or words it was, so now I've got to go and re-type everything. Grrrrrrrr!!!!! Especially as I'm not noted for my typing skills.

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Really, I've been having a morning that I feel as if I'm in the twilight zone, so I think I'll have to take a breather before I post my original message again. Yet another morning wasted.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

When we get the 406 Error message it has to do with a problem with the server and the connection and not what you are posting. Sorry you had problems Crystal

Shy, I haven't heard anything on the news but the maps you put up clearly show Mt. St. Helen's is erupting. Have you heard anything more?

I did just hear that Sarkozy may have secretly married this weekend to his "I barely know you model girlfriend" So there you have it, we have another unfolding drama in the world. His girlfriend is famous for the amount of men she has slept with and her complete openness to discuss it. His ex-wife, whom he just divorced, has three books out there on him and his womanizing ways. For the first time the French Press is loving writing about their leader, a subject that before this has been taboo. According to the French Press he has been making a fool of himself. This will ultimately affect his standing in France.

qop [TypeKey Profile Page]:

And what about the explosion at the Prairie Nuclear Power Plant in Red WIng MInnesota, at 7:55:18? Look at the top part of Shy's chart, under short time events.
There's our anow storm too.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Upon receiving my email, a friend of mine immediately went to the Mt. St. Helen's video cam (they now have two!) and she immediately emailed back that everything looked very calm there. I just went to the video cams and, darn it, there's nothing to see now but raindrops on the lenses. I do hope it's some mis-information, Cap'n Sally. I'll post the video cam address in just a few.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Here's the video cam, Cap'n Sally and all:

Crystal [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Anyway, what I was saying in my original message is that I have this eerie feeling that the Bushes want to pass the baton to the Clintons, and we all know that Rove wants a ticket back to the White House. Have you noticed lately how he is touting Hillary for President? A neighbor of mine who listens to talk radio, said someone called in to say that he heard the Clintons had told Bush that they would appoint him as a sort of goodwill ambassador if they won the presidency, but when someone contacted Bush to ask him about it, he vehemently denied it.

The other thing I noticed, is that the topic of discussion for election has moved away from the Iraq war, (where Hillary is vulnerable), to the economy, where the Clintons are strong. Everybody saw a recession coming a mile away, but it was officially announced only recently. This gives Hillary a good diversion, which she used to her advantage in her interview on Sunday with Tim Russert on NBC.

Of interest is that Tony Blair is most likely to become head of the EU, and the rules will change. He will become a permanent President, as opposed to the 6 month rotation that was previously in force.
The circle is closing ranks. Power and control in the hands of a few over the lives of the masses.

patb [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally I just love your full-throated truthiness post. It has that body/speech/mind speaking as one with passion. Beautifully, ingeniously and perfectly done.

Need to say and say this just once: What I said about Nolle was taken waaaay out of context, which really surprised me because I didn't mean it the way it was interpreted. At the time it was merely my natural exhuberance just after reading 28 pages of his stuff with his worldwide view of lunar/solar pull patterns that give us earthquakes, weather, volcanoes. My own understanding of these patterns is "pea sized" and am awestruck by those with mathematical/physics/scientifical grasp of these giant patterns. That was all.

Anyhoo, Shy's fantastic map-find is further clarified by the dates at the top. The St. Helen's eruption is older history on that map.
The Maine storm is current date-wise. Stay cozy, PatQ!
And PatQ., what you said about your normally dormant plants blooming under the snow is further explained here:

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

If nothing else Shy you have given me two valuable sites I did not know existed. I went to the video cam and saw the same raindrops but I downloaded it and will check back from time to time as I am sure you will too.

And kudoos to those plant video's Pat B.

I've posted this before but if you have an interest in mundane weather astrology this man's calculations on mega volcano's are pretty interesting. I traced his theories back several thousand years and they held up very well.

Gina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Wow, great article, Sally. You gave us all something to think about with the mention of the coming Saturn-Uranus opposition.

In response to Crystal's comment, I think Rove wants Hillary to be the Democratic nominee because he thinks that will galvanize the Republicans against her, even more than if Obama were the nominee. I don't think he wants Hillary--or any Democrat--to win.

The people hunger for change, but I can't help but wonder if is it possible that we, the people, might be so afraid of change that on Election Day 2008, we could very well end up with more of the same.

To many of us, Hillary may seem to represent more of the same, but the Republicans most definitely are just that. Can the people overcome fear of change this year, or is real positive change going to have to wait?

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hopefully, the rangers and scientists up at Mt. St. Helen's will dispatch those little chipmunks straightaway to wipe the raindrops off the lenses of the videocams.

Morgana and I will be live-blogging the debate tomorrow night in Las Vegas. It begins at 6:00pm Pacific time, don't hesitate to join us. By the way, Olbermann said the courts ordered MSNBC to have Kucinich as part of the debate and MSNBC is trying to appeal that decision. We will see, the debate might begin with a pretty tense group.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hey there welcome Rosamora and Gina!

Gina I'm hoping we the people are so sick of fear that change becomes the obsession, clean house, dump the rascals out.

Rosamora glad you're chiming in. It's an interesting community eh? :) Cyber security eeewww.

Repugs have South Carolina primary tomorrow, Dems primary on Jan. 26. Tomorrow night the Democratic Debate and hopefully we'll see Kucinich on stage but will they ask him a question? How embarrassing for NBC.

Shy did you catch Keith Olbermanns diary on DKOS? I love it and talking head actually mingling with the masses.

(sorry typo a talking head, not and, makes me nuts when I do that.)

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hey Sally with enough cents, two, four, enough of us maybe we can buy our country back.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Now that's an idea Morgana. A penny for your country. Think how much that would bring in, maybe we can get enough to buy a TV station or corporation and set it to running right. I love the though

Oh, thanks, Miz Morgana. I did motor over to dkos and check out KO's diary. Good on him! There is so much emotion in this primary stuff that it is kind of hard to take. Like fingernails on the blackboard. I have to brace myself to even go to DU and see what's going on. I find it interesting that KO, who seemingly gives his all to try and report what's happening of interest and openly comment on it, is now being attacked for favoring this or that candidate. Nonetheless, he has the wisdom to recognize the attacks are mis-aimed and, instead, to continue on with his mission to inform the public of what is actually going on. Good on him! Anybody got his chart, BTW? It's always interesting to see the chart of an honest person.

Hi, Sally and company. Frequent lurker, infrequent poster checking in.

Sally, you noted that Clinton is experiencing Chiron opposing her Pluto right now. Any thoughts on the effect of Saturn's transit opposite Obama's Chiron, also current and gaining in strength? (In addition, Saturn is also conjunct Obama's Pluto, while Chiron is opposite his Leo Sun at the moment.)

While I am not very familiar with the interpretation for that Saturn opposite Chiron in Traditional Astrology, in the Magi system it is called a Heartbreak Aspect. Basically, this is an aspect that indicates that the person's most fervent desires will be thwarted, leading to heartbreak. Relationships end, jobs are lost, things don't turn out as the individual had hoped and dreamed. It's supposedly the worst transit one can experience.

Traditional astrology seems to focus on the "wounded healer" description of Chiron more than anything. When I look at the charts of politicians who are embroiled in scandals and controversy, however, heartbreak transits are usually present in their charts. Vitter and Craig had them (can't pull up the charts, though, because I'm on a new computer).

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

That aspect is called the "heartbreak aspect" as well as the Saturn to Venus and Obama could absolutely be thwarted in his ambitions. Usually Chiron seems to manifest as first being wounded and then needing to work to heal that wound. Saturn will be retrograding back over that Chiron a couple of times and it looks like a difficult period of time, it will however be past by the election. There has also been a difficult Chiron oppose his Sun the last couple of months and he won Iowa just as that passed off and then lost NH.

At approximately the same time T-Chiron opposed Hillary's Mars and squared her Sun, she has had to completely change her image and is in the process of doing so now. Time will tell how that plays, as she will have Chiron, Neptune and the NN square her Mercury and oppose her Saturn at the same time in the spring and that will be on the fated 21 degrees Aquarius.

We should probably all be taking notes on how Chiron is working in our lives and others, because you are right there isn't much written about it that's personal and yet everyone who studies astrology tracks the impact of Chiron.

I thought the Mars/Saturn aspect for Hillary was the most obvious, usually there are so many transits that can be examined but this last bit of trouble she had can directly be tired to Chiron.

I do think the most difficult aspect is the 7 year Sadi Sati but neither she nor Obama have that, nor Edwards, Mr. Bush does have that aspect right now, tough times for him.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I must say, Cap'n Sally, that I hope the 7-yr Sadi Sati will affect only the subject of the chart and not drag all the rest of us through it, as well. Right now he's warning Iran not to be provocative and dismissing the NIE about Iran. That's very disturbing since he also dismissed an NIE prior to the 9/11 attack and prior to the Eye-rack attack, if I remember correctly. Do we all have to get dragged down into his Sadi Sati? We need a break!

We are so befogged that it's all too easy to forget there were times of dignity and honesty, including among Repubicans:

They might be coming to vote, and of all places, in Bush's home state. Don't know if this link will work, but if it doesn't, you can go to the Yahoo home page to watch the video.
