GOOD NEWS

Actually there is good news and bad news. The good news is we are back up and running. The bad news is the necessity to register in order to post comments. Sadly there are people in the world with nothing better to do than create havoc for websites. We had one of the last websites not requiring registrations and that has now changed.

In order to post a comment, go to the bottom of the comment section and click on the registration site. It isn't necessary to register your true name but you do have to register a valid email address (WHICH WILL NOT BE POSTED ON THE SITE) your comments will be reviewed in the beginning by me and then I am able to mark the accepted comments as a trusted poster and I won't need to check them anymore. Almost all the posters we have now will be "grandmothered and grandfathered" in and will have automatic trusted poster status.

On the registration site you will see (to the left of the page) where you sign up your member name and password and the site will remember you for two weeks if you wish or you can sign in each day. To the right of the page is the registration page. As I have to initially approve each poster, my hope is to get everyone registered this next week before I have to go back to work.

The regular rules will still apply such as; no obscenity, no personal attacks of other posters, and hopefully polite discourse otherwise the offending post will still be deleted but not the "trusted poster" status.

As you can see on the comment page we now have a search engine, hopefully that will be helpful to finding past information.

Morgana, all of Astroworld and myself wish you a very Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or Happy Celebration, or just a good day on the 25th of December, we are not picky.

If you have any problems or questions, don't hesitate to email me with your questions and we will get this straightened out as we move into an advanced technological world.

The problems we had over Christmas are now resolved and I appreciate your patience I am counting on a great new year. I love the new site and am more than willing to put up with the time consumming glitches we've have to go forward into the New Year with a much improved site, I hope you are too.

Hey Sally, we are still getting the funky character translation for apostrophes.

Thank you for all your hard work getting us back up and running, now I'll go play with the search engine.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I know Morgana I did see that. I must say if people had as many problems as I had registering they are going to need some help. Fortunately the problems were easy to resolve.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ooooh, Cap'n Sally and Miz Morgana! It is just wonderful to have everything back up. Lots of hard work, I know, but let's hope this is the best deterrent ever to those ol' horse patootie flies.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks Shy, I have grandfathered you in and hopefully I won't have to keep checking on each article.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

oh good, mine worked so post another shy and let's see if yours does as well

lunaoscura [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hi All! I have missed you soooo much! I'm happy to be able to post here again! Can we use smilies now? Let's see...

It's good to be back!

JudiGem [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, shouldn't we all be 'grandmothered' in? but I like this site look...which I've posted on the previous Morgana page...

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Strictly speaking Judi, it should be "grandmothered and grandfathered" I've been so nuts with this I just feel happy to have it here.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ok, so far, so good everyone on this page has been "grandmothered and grandfathered" in and it all seems to be working. Like Morgana said, I'm going to have some work to do over the next few days but that's the price we pay for not being thrown off the web right now. If you know anyone please let them know we are back and if anyone has any problems let me know right away.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh, this is just grand, Cap'n Sally. I'm already signed in again. Congratulations--and many many thanks for all the work you and Miz Morgana did on this.

lunaoscura [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I just signed in again to see if everything goes as planned.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Thanks Shy, but once again I am throwing kudo's the way of my son. There were some glitches because he was working with Moveable Type and Positive Fusion and they were changing their sites at the same time, it was a real mess. Thank heavens my son has Moon conjunct Saturn, he has the patience of Job and then some. I always think he's going to get beyond frustrated with me but he never does and moves on this as fast as possible between his family and his job. Anyway we are seemingly up and just hope it all holds. You guys are so great.

PatC [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I hope we all write to Harry Reid.

http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/

Reid and company target the true enemy: "Dodd and his allies"

During yesterday's chat with Washington Post Congressional reporter Paul Kane, this extremely revealing exchange occurred, regarding the view of Harry Reid and other anonymous Democrats of Chris Dodd's actions this week, whereby Dodd disrupted their collective desire for quick, smooth, trouble-free passage of Bush's surveillance and immunity bill:

New Hampshire: Hi Paul and thanks for taking my question. I read your article from the 18th about Harry Reid pulling the FISA bill and still am left wondering why "Reid spokesman Jim Manley said the decision had nothing to do with the efforts of Dodd and his allies."
I watched the entire proceedings and remain incredibly moved and thankful for the efforts of Sen. Dodd and his "allies" to protect and defend our Constitution by objecting to retroactive immunity for the telecoms. Can you fathom why this dismissive and seemingly disingenuous statement was made? Was there more to your interview with Manley that you will share?

patb [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yay Sally! Thanks for all that hard work, let me tell you I'm sure everyone agrees there's nothing like the absence of the best, well-rounded site in town to realize just how much this site means to me/us.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yea Pat B, I am so thrilled to see all the regulars coming back and thanks for such kind words. I have you add to the "those to trust" site so you should be able to post to any article without problems.

Pat C, I don't think anything made me quite so sick as Harry Reid's response to Chris Dodd. Harry Reid is a disgrace as is Pelosi, absolute disgrace and they think we either don't see or they don't care if we do.

JudiGem [TypeKey Profile Page]:

well, Sally, your son is a saint of patience~my late mother had Moon conj. Saturn in Aries...I think this aspect really focuses the mind....my mother was quite brilliant....

and working with all of those various factors took a while, but this looks great, please be sure to pass that on to your son!

I like Dodd a lot....I believe he is a Gemini also....and all the Geminis I know and some I don't know but have heard about have been sick (I have another one, a chest cough/cold, 3rd illness in 6 weeks). But that's not the point, just an aside...I got taken to task really unfortunately and lengthily and unfairly recently by my ex (apologies the next day), a friend of mine (Gemini) had the same thing happen with a man she has been seeing....this sounds like the same kind of thing! Unprovoked ranting by others....I couldn't believe it when I saw the headline quoting Reid's remarks!

Well, I am grateful that Dodd did what he did...and wants to restore the Constitution. I just hope he won't be flying in any small airplanes.

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Sally, probably the later, Reid and Pelosi don't care if we do, the great unwashed. It's unlikely either will lose their seats though possibly a big enough out roar and they could lose their positions as Speaker and Majority Leader. Change has to come from the grass roots everyone in their own backyard, and toss the bum out. As far as I know my congress critter has no Dem. challengers and she's a mouse in Nancy's pocket, haven't seen any electoral propaganda from any one else either.

Lots of energy about. Noticed Obama back pedaled on banning toys made in China, oops we import 80% of all our children toys from China. Edwards the populist is looking better every day.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I wonder how that Moon/Saturn would be in Aries, Rob's is in Taurus and that certainly makes that Moon/Saturn solid. I have a daughter with Saturn in Cancer squaring Sun in Aries and I thank god for it every day, it's the only aspect she has that keeps her just a bit grounded and responsible,

One thing I've learned thus far regarding the new changes, you have to refresh the page often to see newly posted comments. Do you all know how to refresh? I expect you do.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I've heard others say that about Edwards too Morgana, I've never felt like I could grasp exactly what Obama stood for or Hillary either for that matter, but she's better.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

If it's dark where you are, look toward the east and not only will you see the full Moon with Mars nearby but you will also see the winter triangle with Sirius, the red giant star Betelgeuse, and Procyon in Canis Minor form a popular asterism known as the Winter Triangle.

Marta [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hi All, hope everybody had a wonderful 25th! Sally, the site looks great and I like how the new post part of the site looks - great job! I must have tried the site 20 times while it was under reconstruction ... I was having a serious case of missing AW!

Morgana [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yippeee!!! We're able to post again. Thanks Sally!!!

karen [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OMG! It's up! and runnnnnnnnnnnning! Am so darned excited! Sally, big hugs and to your son too who re-engineered your site.

And to all AWers -- my wish for each of you. That your joy-full holiday moments extend well beyond the season.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Jumpin' Jehosephat, we are back!!!!! Many thanks for that final tweaking. Whew!

patb [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hi-Hi everybody! Now that we're in that no-man's land between christmyth & new year's I personally like to detach from the collective horrorshow playing in the mirror. Too demanding like a giant Baby Huey having a continuous tantrum. Brutish & noisey: that's about it.

Wishing all of us the best of all possible joys and contentments in '08 despite these distractions.
My boy Will & me & our phat cat had a great time yesterday! Sharing just one gift was perfect: I got a Screaming Monkey Slingshot, which perfectly reflects my attitude. Will got his Stargate video series. Our 14 yr old cat Dex doesn't like his toys as much as communing in wonderment beneath the lights of the tree and just looking at ribbons and touching them occasionally.
Nice dinner by candlelight, toasting with Virgil's cherry soda (ambrosia of the gods) in wineglasses.

Nevermind the post-election malarky when mars/pluto gather to bother us mightily (will there even BE an election?). Quite a circuitous route to redefine meaning of what the heck we're doing in this country, isn't it!

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Fascinating article, which kind of wraps it all up. Black swans, anyone:

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Hmmmmm. So, I'm trying again to post this link. If it is a dupe, I apologize. My effort to post a few minutes ago, didn't result in a post!
Fascinating article which pretty much pulls a lot of threads together. Including Black Swans.

ah I am able to post again, having navigated the TYPEKEY fence. Quelle pain :) Perhaps now we will be free of the trolls like Michael. Can't say I like the tiny, slight type font, but it's worth it to be able share our thoughts in this community w/o the creeps.

so Hapy New Year everybody, soon the fun in Iowa will reach a crescendo.

Sally [TypeKey Profile Page]:

That was a good article Shy and I do think all who are writing that once supported this group and are now finding themselves shocked by the direction in which they have been taken, will try to justify the worst of the actions by people such as Libby or Addington. I don't think they can admit how duped they were or how wrong they have been and still are. I do think Firedog Lake has written a great review on this book.

OMGds Bhutto killed in Pakistan..

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22406555/from/RSS/

The slim opportunity for sanity in Pakistan has now slipped away.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh, this is very frightening. Cap'n Sally and other astrologers could you please advise re the likely impact of Bhutto's assassination on Pakistan and the rest of that region? Many thanks.

shylurker [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh, and thanks for reading the "Terror or Maybe Something Else Presidency", Cap'n Sally. It's fascinating how so many roads seem to lead directly back to Addington.
