The next to the last aspect between Saturn and Neptune will be exact on February 27 and astrologers everywhere are expecting disaster to raise it's ugly head and it will. Disaster hits everyday somewhere to someone in someplace and there is always an astrological aspect to herald disaster's arrival. The Saturn/Neptune is considered such a disasterous aspect for the country, city, person that it affects and it can happen anywhere in the world and we are coming up on the second of three oppositions of Saturn/Neptune; the first of these oppositions happened the end of August, the second will be the end of February and the third toward the end of June.
It's important to note that in all three hits either Neptune or Saturn is and has been retrograde. Important because on the "disasterous" Saturn/Pluto opposition on 9/11 both planets were direct creating immediate action and an event.
Most long term aspects don't create an immediate event, the events unfold slowly and over time. A perfect example is right here in our own country and the UK. Leo relates to leaders or Queens/Kings and Aquarius relates to the whole, groups, people and the governments of both countries are "slowly" dissolving with their leaders in trouble. I don't think they see their dissolution and I don't know what will be in their place, maybe the same type of leadership, but I don't think so.
The best example of an unfolding disaster of Saturn coupled with the delusion of Neptune is Global Warming. Foul, polluted, yellow snow is falling in Russia, (making Prince's signature song "Purple Rain" not out of the question), thousands of birds all over the world are falling from the sky dead, several thousand bees in Pennsylvania have died mysteriously, wales and dolphins are inexplibly beaching themselves, odd strange weather is happening all over the world.
Al Gore, the UN, all of Europe are jumping around pointing out the complete destruction of our ecosystem and the dying earth, overwhelming evidence of Global Warming and we're asking "what do you think is happening?" And still Australia and the US say "we won't do anything about this until China and India do something." I give you the slow unfolding of a Saturn/Neptune disaster. Astrologers are talking about flu pandemics, nuclear war with Iran, oil disasters (Russia has one) all kinds of possible or potential calamities but they don't have to look for new catastrophes, we have one now, we are living through a huge Saturn (earth) Neptune (dissolution) catastrophe right now and we have the information at our disposal, the disaster is here.
Will there be more disasters while the earth slowly chokes to death? Absolutely!! The Saturn/Neptune opposition the end of February squares Iran's Uranus which rules their 12th house, could mean a surprising war or a surprising earthquake.
While the opposition doesn't impact the US, it does impact our "leader" of the "free world," as it sits right across his Venus. At the very least there will be a dissolution of his popularity, a further erosion at the polls.
The best, most fun, anticipated delicious possibility in the next few days, is the heliocentric Mars conjunct Pluto in Sagittarius inconjunct the US Mercury. More gossip spilling and dribbling out of Washington all the way from the Halls of Congress to the Courts of the Libby trial, in fact February 7, 8, 9, and 10 are great days to keep your ears to the ground and eyes on the news as Mercury squares the US Uranus.
I don't want to let my cynicism overwhelm and control me so keep demanding your Congressman do something about this and don't let up in your demands. Don't look for a new disaster, we are in a disaster with Global Warming and several catastrophe will pop up because of Global Warming. Stay prepared.

Have we just been bad at picking leaders, or do we not understand what a leader should look like, or do they become the worst of themselves once in office? It's a puzzle to me. Will we survive them?
