Outside of Comedy Central, Black Humor doesn't often make its way into polite company. It's saved for the battlefield and soldiers, hospitals and the medical personnel and morticians to name a few.
Colbert truly delivered up a "smashing" routine, black humor at it's finest. Comedy Central's newest star doing his shtick. Stephen Colbert bombed in the room and rocked the audience in the world.
Bush's routine was pretty funny too, more of a "I want you to know that I know what you're talking about." Colbert was a black humor spot that said "Mr. President and press corps, we are living in pain over what you're doing, we are dying out here everyday."
Colbert was born May 13, 1964 in Charleston, SC and last night Saturn was squaring his Mars, in fact Saturn has been squaring Colbert Taurus planets off and on for several months. He is a comedian, he knew what he was delivering, he didn't expect to get laughs, that was no surprise to him. If he didn't know it, the people he ran the skit by knew it was too acerbic for laughs in that room and would have warned him. He played to his audiance and his audiance was not sitting in that room.
He was sitting with people who like to deliver what "they want us to know" and they deliver it with less than the truth if they deliver the truth at all, and they don't like the truth coming back. I expect he also figured this might be his only shot to stand face to face with this group and carry the message of the anger and frustration out here in America who don't own a tux and cannot get in to be heard.
He made sure we were we were at the "table" in that room of self styled plutocrats and with Saturn squaring his Mercury, Mars and Jupiter, Stephen might pay a short term price for his acerbic wit, but not for long as his "base" is not part of the "backwash" left for Mr. Bush. I would suggest Stephen dot his i' and cross his t's on his tax return for a very long time.
If you haven't seen the clip of his performance try to do so. Was it rude? Yes it was rude and not the kind of conversation polite people would bring to a dinner. It was something akin to telling a mother what all could see "your child is a brat and is ruining the day for the rest of us." We don't do that in America, we are polite, we don't like stating the obvious, we are politically correct and because we are, we as a country are dying.
We are losing our civil liberties, hundreds of thousands are losing their lives, we are torturing innocent people, our justice system is in a shambles and serves only the rich, our economy is tanking, the middle class disappearing, the oil companies are scamming us, our taxes are going through the roof to pay for the rich, we have no healthcare, money is being taken away from first responder services, our country has been sold to China and selected Arabs,
hate crimes are accepted, and we are routinely lied to by our so called leaders and we are paying them to lie to us.
But, we are polite, Dear God in Heaven, we are polite. Last night Stephen was not polite, he was rude and I stood and cheered. Thank you Stephen Colbert you were great and the word was "truthiness."
