NEW THREAD - SITTING DOWN

Time has its due influence over visible grief, that which is expressed by visible emotions-it softens sighs and dries tears…but the loss of that which is, or was, part of yourself, remains for ever. (Sydney Lady Morgan – 1844)

Every so often in history, women have enough of the ridiculousness of a given situation, and they sit down, and refuse to move. Women do it all the time with children or spouses who have demanded too much and given too little, we sit down until changes or made. Women did it in 1848 at Seneca Falls, NY when they held their first convention to develop a strategy to gain the right to vote. They sat down at home and in the streets until 1920 when they finally garnered their objective. Rosa Parks sat down on Dec. 1, 1955, she was exhausted after a long day at work and it suddenly seemed ridiculous not to sit down and it was worth being arrested, following Rosa Parks courageous act, everyone sat down.

The 9/11 Women, they have sat down and are not letting this administration off the hook. They are not “moving on” they want answers and have been unrelenting in their questions.

It’s almost humorous the anger and frenzy men and children go into when women “sit down.”

On August 6th at 11:00am Cindy Sheehan sat down in Crawford, Texas and ever so slowly others are beginning to sit down with her. She has had enough, so many have had enough. There was a threat of her being arrested (an act of intimidation) and women all over the country were prepared to go to the police and demand they be arrested with her. The longer she stays the more she will become an object of ridicule and attack and the more uncomfortable we will all become, and the more uncomfortable Mr. Bush’s vacation becomes. There will be a call for the President to do something, talk to her, and get her out of there. Get that picture of a grief stricken, passionate mother off our newspapers, our blogs and our TV.

There isn’t a more tragic picture in the world, Iraq, the US, Israel, Palestine, any country, than a mother grieving the senseless death of a child. There isn’t a more painful heartbreak than losing a child. Cindy Sheehan is today’s picture of all the grief of all the mothers everywhere who lost a child because of someone’s “folly.” The world is uncomfortable watching.

What noble cause Mr. President brought our sons and daughters to their death? We need to know Mr. President, we need to know why our children are dying; we need to know why our children are sent to kill people who did nothing to us. We need to know.
And Cindy Sheehan sat down.

I don’t have the birthdate of Cindy, but I do have the date and time she began her vigil and date Rosa Parks took that bus seat in the “all white section.”

Rosa Parks Cindy Sheehan

Sun 9 Sagittarius Uranus 9 Pisces
Uranus 2 Leo Saturn 2 Leo
Mars 1 Scorpio Mars 5 Taurus
Jupiter 1 Virgo Moon 1 Virgo
Chiron 1 Aquarius Chiron 29 Capricorn

Both charts indicate a firmness of conviction; both charts had an aspect to the US natal explosive Uranus. Both Suns were in Fire Signs. Both charts indicate a need to be recognized and validated by an onerous government who had allowed a situation to go to far without reason or compassion. I cannot help but wonder what would happen if women and men all over this country went to their Court Houses, their State Houses, their White House and simply sat down.
