Hurricane Katrina fizzled as tropical depression #10 dissipating into a few meandering clouds, written off as dead and done. The clouds continued to drift and feed on the warm waters of the Bahamas finally making its way to the southeastern Florida coastline where it feasted on the warm currents spinning it up into a Cat 1 storm. Losing little strength Katrina re-entered the Gulf of Mexico and now has spun up to be one Big Mama growing by the hour and taking aim on the Big Easy.
Katrina’s chart is cast for her first landfall on August 25, 2005 at 6:30 PM EDT just south of Fort Lauderdale <chart link>, Florida. Mars is the big player in this chart as the focal point of a T-Square. Mars is bringing it home, driving the erratic storms path it’s squaring Neptune 15 Aquarius, squares Mercury 14 Leo, with Mercury then opposing Neptune in the 1st House. Mars then ignites the South Node (SN) and Jupiter in Libra in the 8th House death, destruction and rebirth. Even though Venus is not involved directly in the Mars ménage trios, she’s within four degrees of kissing that karmic SN. Pretty hot Air there! Enough? Not even. Those Air Monsters strongly trine Katrina’s Ascendant (her face the image she show’s the world) and Neptune. Cat 4 ?
Remember Mars is the driving force in Katrina’s chart. Mars also parallels the Moon at 24 Taurus which sits smack on the IC coupling that energy together starts roiling tides, water, water everywhere. The current path of Katrina is forecast to make a Louisiana 2nd landfall. At this writing she has yet to make her turn to the North and is still moving West. Forecasting a hurricanes curvature is tricky business. The Mars line of Katrina’s chart drops through Eastern Mississippi and the border area of Alabama. Close enough to kiss New Orleans as well. The 4th House hit on the IC is an Angular House and Katrina is initiating change.
Change is initiated. As the clouds of Katrina continue to pour down on the South Eastern and Eastern United States, coupled with the intense heat we’re experiencing this year, the Washington DC greeting our returning members of Congress, and the ever vacationing Shrub will be met with hot, sweaty, heavy times as the anger of the American People roils in response to the lies that lead us into a war. Global Warming IT has arrived, sky rocketing gas prices, dropping property values (some might way washed away). Boy howdy look out oil rigs in the Gulf, gulp, glug, glug. Bang anyone say $4 or $5 dollars a gallon?
Katrina that little cluster of clouds that was written off will spread her reach to eventually touch and affect the entire eastern seaboard and may prove to be just the one more straw added to Saturn sitting on Shrub’s Ascendant to bring him back to reality. Katrina will be costly on multiple levels.
