After a 35 year love affair Prince Charles has announced his intention and the date of his marriage to Camilla Shand Parker-Bowles. Upon his announcement, his mother , Queen Elizabeth II announced she, and her husband Prince Philip would not be attending the wedding. Not attending the wedding of your eldest son who is to follow you as King of England? What kind of mother is this? Actually, Queen Elizabeth was not known for her motherly skills, and in fact when Charles was a boy, she was roundly criticized by the British Press for going off to live with her husband in Malta during his military duty, leaving Charles in the care of Nannys from the time he was in swaddling clothes.
Now you might think that Queen Elizabeth was showing her displeasure as head of the Anglican Church that her divorced son was marrying a divorced woman whom he had committed adultery with during both of their marriages to other people.
We find ourselves wondering why this would upset the Queen when in fact Henry VIII broke away from the Roman Church and created the Anglican church so that he could divorce and re-marry. The Anglican church was established in 1534 by Henry VIII because the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope refused to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon so that he could marry Anne Boleyn, who was already pregnant with their first child Princess Elizabeth. Divorce and adultery would seem quite a stretch for an excuse not to attend your son’s wedding.

Camilla’s Saturn/Pluto is conjunct the Queen’s Moon. As the saying goes, there’s definitely no love lost there, yet the aspect shows a karmic connection. The Queen’s 10th house Saturn at 24 Scorpio is quincunx Camilla’s 23 Gemini Uranus falling in the 5th house of love affairs. Saturn is ancestry, and in the Queen’s 10th and 5th house, it’s genealogy for all to see.
There’s a famous story that when Camilla met Prince Charles in 1970, she propositioned him saying, "My great-grandmother was your great-great-grandfather's mistress so how about it?"
That started a three year love affair between Charles and Camilla. Charles wanted to marry Camilla but the Queen would not allow it; the reason given was that she was not a virgin. Charles went off to Navy duty without making a commitment to Camilla, so she married a friend of Charles’, Parker-Bowles, and made Charles godfather to one of her children. An odd occurrence in view of the following history.
There’s more to that story than is being told. Camilla’s great grandmother, Mrs. Alice Keppell was the last in a long line of mistresses another Prince of Wales (1898) indulged in. Great Grandmother Alice’s relationship continued even after the married Prince became King Edward VII in 1901. Great Grandmother Alice even had a semi-official title: Royal Escort to the King, and was even summoned to his bed by relatives as he lay dying.
Saturn in Scorpio is in the Queen’s 10th house for all to see. Yet Saturn (which rules the Queen’s first house} especially in Scorpio can be very secretive. What kind of secrets could they be? Ah the secret of her roots; her forefathers and ancestry!
The Queen has a couple of juicy secrets about Royal ancestry of the Hanover-Windsors. One of them is that Queen Elizabeth is descendant of both African and Asian bloodlines, most notably from Queen Charlotte [wife of King George III (1738-1820)] who was directly descended from Margarita de Castro y Sousa, a black branch of the Portuguese Royal House. Queen Charlotte was unmistakably of African heritage as can be seen in her portraits. Apparently at the time of Elizabeth II’s coronation, this heritage was questioned and an “apologia” was published by the Royal Household defending her position as head of the Commonwealth in view of both her Asian and African bloodlines. (one has to wonder if Dubya and his family still want to claim relation to the Queen). (1)
Another well-known “secret” is that King Edward VII is the father of Mrs. Alice Keppel’s illegitimate child, Sonia Keppel, grandmother of Camilla. In genealogy charts for the English Royal family, in the ever polite British euphemistic phrasing is listed : WINDSOR, Albert Edward VII "Bertie" “Other marriages- “He married Alice Frederica EDMONSTONE Mistress “– “Not Officially Married.” “ Children: Sonia Rosemary Keppel born 24 May 1900, died 16 Aug 1986.”
You have to envision a 21 year old Charles telling Mommy Dearest he wanted to marry Camilla and Mommy Dearest envisioning a royal wedding with the illegitimate grandmother, still alive, an illegitimate aunt to herself, the Queen ,in attendance at the wedding.
Some say Charles and Camilla are second cousins and some say second cousins “by half removed”.
In any case, it was and is a situation completely intolerable to Elizabeth. Even though Charles has promised Camilla will never be Queen, legally and in reality if Charles does become King, which is doubtful, Camilla will be Queen. Doubtful because the Queen can be quite vindictive and cutting with an Aquarium Mars/Jupiter squaring Saturn in Scorpio. The relationship between Charles and Mommy Dearest has never been good. Somehow he has always managed to upset her and vice versa. His relationship to her forever has been rebellion with his natal 29 degree Jupiter-Sag/Uranus in Gemini opposition, squaring her 27 Pisces Uranus, a battle of willfulness and rebellion between both.
Yet it’s Camilla who has the last revenge and the last laugh for her grandmother and great-grandmother. Historically there has been intermarriage among the royal family for centuries, diluting the genes, but one reason for the intermarriage was to keep the wealth of the royals within the royal family. Queen Elizabeth’s Part of Fortune at 9 Libra is conjunct Camilla’s Neptune 8 Libra. Camilla will inherit Elizabeth’s riches- and legally at that.
What does Camilla have that Charles wanted so badly he defied his mother the Queen and what was it he couldn’t get from a perfectly lovely wife? Six placements in nurturing Cancer. Camilla’s E.A., Moon, Venus, P.O.F, Mercury, Sun all fall in Charles 12th house. He gets the mothering and nourishment and caring from Camilla he never got from his own Mother in his early formative years. His secret emptiness is being filled. This is not the wild sexual attraction people have made of it. It’s comfort and nurture for Charles, and with Camilla’s Jupiter on Charles Sun, she makes him happy and makes him feel light, instead of a walking wound. (His natal Sun is conjunct Chiron.)
Their marriage will take place on April 9 2005 at 11:00 AM in London, England, a day after the eclipse and still on Mercury retrograde. The Eclipse hits the Sun at 19 Aries in the 10th house of this marriage together with Venus, the North Node and the Moon. Jupiter opposes the Sun and the afore named planets, and Saturn in the first house of the marriage chart at 20 Cancer is the same degree as Queen Elizabeth’s South Node in her first house. Elizabeth’s karmic debt is coming for payment, and in some way this marriage is going to free Charles from the ties that have bound him. Saturn is square the marriage Sun, Venus, the North Node and the Moon lending stability to the marriage. It doesn’t look like there will be crowds of people or lots of warmth being showered on this couple, but they’ll be just as happy in their own private world , having a happy home, with Jupiter in their 4th house no matter how much the South Node there also will cost them of family relationships.
