Karmically we are connected to a myriad of people and situations. As an example our Karma may be attached to a sick child as they with us, even though we won’t experience the same thing, we are attached. We are attached to our neighborhoods, friends, jobs, towns, state, families, countries, these things hold the key to our destiny and if we move or change our situation, we expand or change our destiny in ways we cannot see. Every single action is a choice, every thought is a choice and every person has an impact. We look to leaders to define our destiny and they will as long as they are given the power.
However, we need to remember or learn that our leaders are not the destiny of this country, THIS country collectively, is their destiny as it is for each individual who lives here. They don’t define us, the country as a whole, elevates and defines them and the energy of the cosmos keeps moving and shifting our energy.

December 11 at 8:28 pm Washington, DC an unusual New Moon graced us with her presence. As many astrologers throughout the web have pointed out the planets are lined up naturally. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, with the NN straight up at the Mid-Heaven. In Western Astrology planets move counter clockwise, and in Vedic Astrology they move clockwise, when you look at this chart, we are either going backwards or forwards, astrologers get to pick how they will read the chart and interpret accordingly.

More than the direction of the planets, it’s how they aspect the US chart that intrigues me.
Outside of Chiron and the NN, there aren’t any planets in earth signs, we have fire (action) water (emotions) and air (analyzation, and justification) Three of the planets are in the sign of their fall (not the best of energy) Saturn in Cancer, Venus in Scorpio, and Retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius.

The Sun and Moon are sitting on the fixed star Atria, a star related to truthfulness, justice, and benevolence. Pluto is less than 30 minutes from Ras Alhague a star related to addictions, infections, and problems with women, hallucinations and mystical healing. All that is fairly powerful as the Moon and Sun will be exactly conjunct Pluto within hours. The related Sabian symbols would be 20/21/22 Sagittarius respectively.

20: Keynote: The foresighted use of natural resources to supply future needs.
21: Keynote: The use of imagination and make-believe in anticipating higher stages of development.
22: Keynote: Making use of one’s special racial-cultural background in order to survive and prosper in an alien environment.

Jupiter conjuncts the US Saturn in the 3rd House of the New Moon, a probable attempt at restricting information (what else is new) but Neptune ruling gas, fog and leaks trines Jupiter ensuring that information will continue to flow through this month and the information will come from the allies of the US. Oh I don’t mean allies of the US Government, I mean the allies who love the people and are concerned about them.

Normally I would see a New Moon in Sagittarius in the 5th house surrounded by Pluto and Mercury (even if it is retrograde) as happiness and connecting to our inner joy with power, some potential happy news when Mercury crosses the shadow of the 20 degree Sun, but what I do see with this New Moon is low energy. Not really depression more of an emptiness, hungry for something but don’t know what. The superfluity of Sagittarius planets in the 5th house promises the wisdom to find what that hunger might be and to open new channels of positive energy for ourselves and this country, now would be a good time to watch and learn what “mystical healing” is within the universal energy that surrounds us if you have an interest in doing so.

For some of you the concept of being able to manifest your reality will be foreign and for others you’ve understood it for sometime and are already successfully working with the energy. The sudden opening to a higher or evolving consciousness will be there over the next two weeks for everyone, plus with the Sun/Moon on the Asteroid Arachne the feeling of intrigue will abound. Enjoy watching the intrigue but we don’t need to make it relevant to our daily lives. The higher and sacred octave of Sagittarius (which we may chose to apply) is the urge to live freely, openly and expansively, but they personally love intrigue for the possibilities it holds and they are able to observe and comment upon their observations without getting stuck in the emotionality of a situation and this New Moon promises the same Sagittarius energy to us all. Find where Sagittarius is in your chart and look for that area to be illuminated over the next few weeks. If you feel disconnected or drifty, you are well on your way to the shift.

On 9/11 the shock of change was delivered in the United States never to be exactly the same again and we have been grieving that change. It is always wise to look at that chart and the 2001 Inaugural chart to see what is aspecting. Jupiter, is conjunct the 9/11 Mercury, and Solar Arc Jupiter is squaring transiting Jupiter and Mercury. Mercury in the New Moon Chart opposes Inaugural Pluto, and square Venus, loose lips will be the order. I believe we will find out another piece of 9/11 from a “friend” or a “deep throat,” and the information will come from another country.

With the New Moon in Sagittarius falling in the US 1st House of self, we, as a country will be trying to exert our power over others and our arrogance will be showing with a swift slap down by the rest of the world, someone is going to make us look foolish. Mars and Venus will fall in the US 12th, as a country we will have a hard time seeing our friends or enemies. Mars works well in Scorpio but not well in Neptune’s house. The down side of Mars in Scorpio (and you will see the downside from the 12th) is a lack of ambition, super-sensitive, projecting emotions out onto others, seeing insult where there was none and starting arguments with others or they starting it with you. Mars in conjuncts GWB’s Uranus and NN, while Sun/Moon oppose, we will be treated to his swaggering egotism and insensitivity. Turn him off so you can enjoy the holidays and begin taking your energy away from this government. He who cannot be named is losing his sway over the rest of the world. They are rapidly isolating the US and ignoring this President. It won’t be long before Europe will be saying to us “you are either with us or against us.”

When people start figuring out that most of the world isn’t afraid of or against our government they simply consider us losers at this point, we will begin to change our attitude as well. America is very close to being the World Wide Joke. We defend murders, crooks, rapists, addicts in this country, but we don’t defend losers. The “Nascar Dads” don’t like losers. The world is moving on, only the US, Iraq, Israel and Palestine and parts of Africa are locked in an old paradigm. Sagittarius lets words come rolling out with humor but no thought. Look for some great worldwide cartoons and jokes that will hit their mark, as we have become caricatures of ourselves.

When Pluto came roaring out of the US 12th house he brought all our dirty 200 year old secrets with him, and those secrets will continue to be revealed to us and the world at least until Pluto hits the Galactic Center at about 26 degrees of Sagittarius.

True to a Mutable New Moon there is a lot of things happening this month, some will be happy some won’t as we continue on our road to a new way of being. What I’ve listed above is only a small part of what we can expect.

OHIO

The recount is being shut down but it will eventually be completed. Don’t say “not in time,” because we don’t know, please remember we are creating our future right now. If they don’t finish for 6 months, that will be the exact time the second term will be going way sour that’s a bad time for Americans to realize this isn’t their president.

DNC

This weekend the DNC was interviewing the candidates to be the head of the DNC and Howard Dean had excellent aspects and I expect did very well. If they make their decision this weekend I think he has an excellent chance. If he doesn’t get this position he could be a corner stone to reviving a viable third party.

In the Denver Post today they had a list of the winners and loser in the falling dollar and we can look for opportunities here.

And the weaker dollar could force central banks and investors to sell due to rising interest rates in this country. Foreigners hold more than 41 percent of this country’s public federal debt. Japan, China, UK, and the Caribbean Banking Center (whoever they are) would be the big owners of the United States. After those four, in descending order are South Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Hong Kong, Switzerland, OPEC, Mexico and Canada. This is just our public federal debt and does not include the amount of corporations, land, and public entities they own, that is in addition to the federal debt. Here are our illusion folks, when we fight to save the United States of America; we are fighting to save the financial solvency of these countries as they do us. Now we have been put into a position where there countries don’t need us if we cannot “play” with the rest of the world. Our policies have not always been for the “greater good of all,” and Pluto demands that we “play” for the greater good of all or we lose big time.

The New World Order on this administration’s mind is different than the Globalization on the minds of the rest of the world. In the New World Order we will have to give up everything to feed that beast. Globalization involves compromise and fair sharing with other countries so everyone can win. Sagittarius the Global Wisdom sign potentially gives us the insight to chose the better path with the possibilities of prosperity for all countries, not only the few.

I will end this where I begin, as an astrologer one can look at this chart as going backwards or forwards it is our choice. For me looking back only holds illusions of a democracy not a true democracy. I am taking the Vedic interpretation of the New Moon planets and count them as moving forward.
