The above quote seems to be an appropriate one to describe the frustration of Jefferson as he saw his country, built on the ideals of freedom and free speech, take a backward step into fear and repression. The Sedition Act was passed on July 14, 1798 when Saturn was in Cancer. Another version On May 16, 1918 and a young J. Edgar Hoover used that to imprison those who spoke out against the US Government, including women seeking the right to vote, Pluto was in Cancer busy supporting the family and status quo, lulling them into a false sense of security because all was about to change from dresses, to autos, to hair, to women, and Blacks, and the changes brought by Pluto transiting over the US Venus/Jupiter/Sun in Cancer made sure nothing would ever be the same.
Someone asked me where all this started my answer would be “before the birth of Christ,” because all of this has to do with fear that raises it’s ugly head through time. It was fear that created the Spanish Inquisition, fear that drove the Pilgrims to the “new world.” Fear that Nazi’s placed innocent people into those gas chambers. Fear that started the “white man” wars against the Native American Indians and when they finally drove the Indians onto bleak reservations they sent blankets infected with small pox to try and kill them off, and cases of alcohol to keep them drunk so they wouldn’t know what was happening.
Fear of creativity and the feminine power over life itself that drove our Salem ancestors to burn women (mostly mid-wives) and young girls as witches, a concept they couldn’t even grasp and therefore feared.
Fear that found men and women childishly throwing white sheets over their heads and branded themselves the KKK so they could do unspeakable things to the African /Americans whom they feared the most.
The Religious Right!!! Oh please. Go back in history and read what the “Religious Right” in every century, practically every decade have done out of fear. All religions seem to believe that in order to survive and keep their members coming back and “paying” for the privilege they must be kept in fear of a God that might smite them any minute, so they “smite” others first in an attempt to prove to God they and they alone are deserving of entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. Who are “they?” “They” are every mainstream religion, ‘they” are Catholic, “they” are Muslims, “they” are evangelical, right wing Christians who are more concerned with a gay couple down the street (any street) than “they” are with the slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent people around the world. “They” want to prove to God that “they” and “they” alone are deserving of God’s Heaven, and if that’s at the expense of the rest of God’s children, so be it.
Now in the new Millennium fear has taken a chokehold on the world. The liberals are afraid of not being relevant, so afraid they cannot change, and we are afraid of George Bush, a fear we share with the rest of the world. The “new KKK” or skinheads (calling themselves evangelicals) are determined to mold America and the rest of the world into THEIR image of God whatever that is on any given day or month. And sadly they are unwitting victims of a system rife with corruption.
Kerry and Edwards didn’t challenge this fraudulent election because of fear. The Bush Machine stole both elections because of fear of losing their power and their agenda.
The aspects for both candidates were so close it was difficult to pick a winner, so like a doctor, pre ultra-sound, would tell a pregnant mom it’s a 50/50 chance of it being a boy or a girl. Some astrologers saw a slight edge for Bush; others like myself saw a slight mathematical edge for Kerry. I don’t apologize or regret saying Kerry because I believe, like Gore, Kerry did win and it was stolen out from under them both. However, I also realize that if the Kerry campaign had been more clear cut, more liberally defined to give a clear choice, the numbers would have been wide enough that it would have been impossible to steal it.
My apologies are for my own blind spot in not acknowledging how far fascism has crept into the US and has been doing so for at least 100 or more years. Even Lincoln warned of what was happening. This mess didn’t start with the Nazi’s it started long before the Nazi’s burst on the scene. This year Uranus returned to its 1920 place when women received their right to vote. Do you know how much violence was around that struggle? Our government sanctioned the killing of women and children on the street for their demonstrations. Women were beaten, thrown in prisons and mental institutions because of their fight for women’s rights. And all during it, the Elmer Gantry’s and their tent preachers were spreading “fear” to men and women that God did not create women equal and would “cast them out of heaven into the pits of hell,” for supporting women’s right to vote.
As a historian I should have seen this coming. It was never about Bush/Kerry they were only symbols of the deeper sickness affecting this country. How did the liberals think we were going to win when the GOP owns the media, both houses, the presidency, the supreme court, and the voting machines? How short sighted and idealistic could I have been to think one candidate, a few books, movies, GOTV could possible override the corruption that has been growing silently and cancer like for 75 years or more.
Starting in the late 1800’s and the United States Eugenics experiments were begun. Mr. Bush’s base is the elite rich, the greedy, and the takers of life for profit. His Army is the fundamentalists believing themselves to be the “elite” and “chosen” of God. That’s the group who have forgotten that Satan was the beautiful but fallen Angel who masqueraded as the light.
There have always been four dangerous periods for the GWB Presidency; three of them have passed by. The final period of danger for this presidency begins in April of 2005 and lasts until February 2006 and anything can happen during this most dangerous period; impeachment, illness, death or someone drops an atom bomb. The next year and a half there will be fundamentalists behaving as rabid dogs as they believe they have been kissed by God to demand whatever they wish.
There were several common aspects linking today and the Civil War however three aspects struck me:
Progressed Sun/ Mercury/Mars/Jupiter all conjunct GWB’s Natal Mars and they all square the US Natal Uranus and Uranus in the Civil War Chart. Most importantly the Moon on Election Day was conj. CW South Node. The progressed Mars of the CW Chart was conjunct by T Mars on 2004 Election Day. Of most concern is the Solar Arc Uranus is conjunct the position of Saturn at the surrender of the South. Both of these planets square the US Natal Pluto ALL are being activated exactly by a square/opposition from T Saturn, the South, (red voters) in all their Bible Belt glory intends to rise again and the symbolic North (blue voters) are trying with all our might to stop it from happening.
Astrologers can make a case for this being a Revolution, Civil War, Nazi, or 60’s Redux. But like those other periods of history it’s a transformation of the world. During periods of transformation one experiences a great rise of evil and a great rise of good as we are swept along by the energies of the times. Most of us are puppets with our strings being pulled by the different world centers of power and money but that doesn’t stop us from being sure of whatever position we have taken in our struggle to change or be changed.
I don’t know how history will view this time period because history is written by the winners of the struggle; the native American Indians didn’t fair so well, or the Mayan’s, or African Americans. The English didn’t get in kudo’s from the Revolutionary War or the South from the Civil War, and Hitler, up until now, has been considered the most evil of the evil.
