This eclipse series is about being forceful and taking power. It has a manic flavor about it, with great force or strength manifesting in the relationship area. Individuals experiencing this Saros Series may experience sudden events, like falling in or out of love or sudden encounters. The individual may also exert a huge effort in some group activity. In 1049, Edward, crowned in 1043, is the King of England. As a penance for not taking a pilgrimage, he was charged with building a permanent base for the English Monarchy on the banks of the Thames and it became known as Westminster Abby. There was a war going on against Ballwin of Bruges and the Catholic Church was mired in corruption and sexual scandals requiring the formation of the Council of Rheims and the Church declared, “witches could not fly.”
The Sun and Moon were at 21 Pisces, Pluto at 12 Aquarius, Mars at 13 Leo and Saturn was at 27 Capricorn, where the US Pluto came to reside, with Saturn today forming an opposition. That’s power for good or for ill.
Every six months there is a Solar Eclipse which influences according to where it occurs in the chart. The area of life affected is determined by the house position of the eclipse. Eclipses are important when within 1 degree of a conjunction or opposition to the Sun, Moon or angles. In mundane astrology they affect those nations, cities and leaders, which have a familiarity with the sign of the eclipse, especially if the founding chart has the sign of the eclipse as their Sun, Moon, Asc. or MC.
Solar Eclipses affect the external; they have been known to fell the mighty, public figures fall from grace. This Eclipse is in Libra known to disrupt weather and cause explosions (Mars is the first planet to cross the Eclipse path) Mt. Saint Helen comes to mind as well as earthquakes, and severe weather. This eclipse particularly affects Hawaii, Alaska, and the West Coast in the United States as well as Japan, Korea and Northeast Asia. Elections this year will be ruled by emotions, not necessarily by reason. Tensions run high especially for those with a lot of Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn)
In Vedic astrology this eclipse comes with an aspect that promises to be difficult. All planets (as related to Vedic, only out to Saturn) are encased between Rahu and Ketu (the North and South Nodes.) This particular Vedic aspect produces an energy of tension and disappointment. In fact George Bush has this in his natal chart. It doesn’t deny fame and fortune, but it comes with a very destructive price for the individual unlucky enough to have been born with the energy.
In the US chart and John Kerry’s chart the Midheaven is in Libra, so this eclipse falls across their 10th and 4th house. In George Bush chart, his Moon and IC is in Libra, so this eclipse falls across his 3rd and 9th house (it’s three degrees away from his IC, and technically out of the 1 degree orb of influence will still affect him powerfully, as the Lunar Eclipse later in the month affects John Kerry powerfully and fatefully.) A Solar Eclipse is more powerful for a leader or nation when it is rising (at the MC) than when it is setting (IC)
In Australia (01.01.1901 at 1:35pm, Melbourne) when the Queen handed the government of Australia over to the Australian’s their Ascendant was 21 degrees Aries. This Solar Eclipse falls across their 7th and 1st houses. Its affect was to hand conservative John Howard (07.26.1939, Sydney, N/T) a surprising 4th term. I don’t know the degree of his 4 angles, but his Venus was 21 Cancer and Venus ruled the Asc. of the Australian Chart. Preference is always given to the planet that dominates the eclipse, in this case that would be Venus. John Howard’s Venus, in the same degree as the eclipse, was aspected.
It will be this coming Solar Eclipse that will impact the final round of debates between Kerry/Bush. It’s a bit complicated so bear with me. This debate will be about George Bush and I believe his final fall. The question on people’s mind will not be whether Bush beats Kerry or not, it will be whether Bush is capable of running this country. Bush, not Kerry is on the defense here. It will be the Lunar Eclipse later in the month that impacts Kerry and more about that in a minute.
Saros Series number 6 South falls in the weakened position below the horizon at 21 Libra, it falls close to GWB’s IC and sextiles by exact degree his Venus (the ruler of this eclipse.) giving him a great opportunity to play strongly to his base of believers replete with swagger, hyperbole and smirks. The planetary players are in position close to the 7th house as the debate begins, sinking lower and lower into the 6th house as the debate carries on. The Ascendant begins at 24 Aries, GWB’s midheaven degree, the ruler is Mars and Mars squares his Sun, an aspect that finds the person playing at being “his own worst enemy.” There is a possibility that George loses his temper right in the beginning of the debate and at the end of the debate, Saturn is back in the 3rd house still conjuncting GWB’s Saturn and T Mercury squares. Not a good beginning or end for GWB, but a pretty passable middle.
George Bush has a little known asteroid at 20 degrees Libra and it’s worth quoting from my book on Asteroids “The Mechanics of the Future” by Martha Lang Wescott.
“Astarea firmly believes “it ain’t over ‘til it’s over;” it tends to stay too long at the fair; it hangs in there long past the point of determination or stubbornness; it is willing to “watch Rome burn” (all the way to the ground) or “let castles crumble, and to go down with the ship.” It obscures your ability to understand when things are over, it’s a form of overkill – a place where one’s nose really gets rubbed in it.”
This will be George Bush’s night and when it’s over he will eventually find it a dark night. All Kerry has to do is have a little bit of a fresh message and continue with his calm deliberations, because at the end of the evening the Ascendant will fall on John Kerry’s and America’s mutual Draconic Mid-heaven, that would indicate that Kerry and the US collective unconsciousness find their connection.
The Lunar Eclipse on Oct. 27th 2004, 11:07pm in Washington, DC will have the greatest impact on the election. This eclipse will come close to a conjunction to Kerry’s Venus, which rules his Midheaven and the US Midheaven. The Moon will also trine the US Venus and Jupiter; Jupiter in this chart has just slipped over into John Kerry’s 10th house of fame. In the Lunar Eclipse chart the Moon (the people) is in the 10th house, looks like the people have something to say and they are going to say it. Mars is at 20 degree Libra conjunct GWB’s Astarea; he will fight to the finish just as they did in 2000. Jupiter, which represents kings and leaders, is at the 4th house cusp of this house, indicating a possible move for our leader.
Today is the 10th of October and the time for either candidate to bow out for whatever reason has passed, excluding death both candidates will continue. These back-to-back eclipses point toward an ugly three weeks ahead, there are State elections heating up, a mass of scandals on the horizon not the least of which is the Food for Oil Scandal, Congress is in disarray, the UN is under global pressure, Tony Blair is under the gun, the elections in Afghanistan are a mess, we are facing our own voting mess, and the next eight years point to continuing transformation for the US and the World. I am sick of focusing on GWB; however the chaos he continues to create is a window into the chaos affecting all of us, so he is easiest to review. My sense is America has made up her mind on this Presidential Election; we just have to wait for it to play out.
No matter who wins the Presidential Election they are in for a rough time of it and Americans will ultimately turn on the person in the White House and nothing is as it would seem to be.
The concept of the collective consciousness is confusing for most people but understanding how the collective intelligence works will help take us out of being victims and into the power of creating the reality we want on earth. I have used the analogy of children and parents in explaining the collective consciousness and our relationship to the universe and planets. Have you ever had to do something for a child that was ultimately in their best interest but the child couldn’t see it at the time? That’s what is happening to us, we cannot see it now but all is working toward our greater good. No matter the outcome and subsequent problems, hold in your own thoughts the world you want and what can you do to make that a reality.
There are groups flying under the radar now who are trying to shift the paradigm of what we think of as reality, not the least of which is government, oil dependency, education, jobs. We are changing people and it is a brave new day, I am excited. Maybe I am excited because I don’t have much and the systems of the past seem outdated and restrictive. I don’t want to go back into that darkness, I want to go forward into a future. Looking at the charts of the United States I realize that what we are experiencing with this administration and maybe the next two is a dinosaur making its last gasp for supremacy and there are people hanging on to the old for dear life. It isn’t too late for us, but it is too late for that kind of thinking.
Remember the law of Physics, “by the time you see it, by the time you hear it, it is on its way out.”
On Oct. 28th the US progressed Sun goes into Pisces, it will take a little while but we will soon be more, or at least as, concerned with the rest of the world as we are with ourselves. I grew up in a little town in Kansas (Girard) and my cousin just sent me a T-shirt to support Girard’s athletic department. The tag line on the shirt put me in mind of today’s underground movement “It’s great to be a Trojan.”
