There were so many comments and links I wanted to put up on this site as proof positive the America is in big trouble. Links about the war, horrible pictures of the suffering in Iraq, the budget, the elimination of millions of acres of wilderness land in America, but all that does is fuel our Mars/Neptune square in the collective mind of America, reinforcing our sense of powerlessness. Instead I want to open this article with a sliver of hope that there are people out here who continue to stand against the those who would and are standing against us. America, even though hanging by a thread, is still a democracy, and of all places, Texas is exercising their democratic right.
It may not be the Alamo but proud Texas Democrats takes a stand against being bullied into accepting redistricting. The mess we are in has its roots in Texas (12/29/1845 1:42pm Austin) and it looks like the process to take Texas back from the Neo-Cons is on the road. If they can stay out until Thursday (the full moon) they will have won this battle. This was definitely the “fun” thing to happen this week and cause to rejoice as the Texas Democrats have decided they cannot just sit there and be run over by a train. The Full Moon and eclipse promises to be intense particularly since they fall across the dreaded fixed star Algol, with the reputation of extreme violence, this fixed star is a mean one and the Inaugural Saturn is at a permanent conjunction to Algol until May of 2005 and by then there will be another Inauguration. Inaugural Saturn at 24 Taurus just underscores the violence in this country right now. I don’t just mean 9/11 and the wars on everyone, everywhere all the time.
Saturn on Algol and ruling the 10th house would indicate an attempt to be the Queen of Roses, “off with their heads.” The head of the government that is, our capstone, our foundation must be decapitated, with the Neo-Cons running the show the government beginning in earnest on January 20,2001. Algol is a real mean star and now there is an eclipse right on top of it.
To give you a small frame of reference regarding this eclipse, on March 4, 1929 at the Inauguration of Herbert Hoover, the North Node rested on Algol at 24 degrees Taurus. In November of 1929 there was a Lunar Eclipse in the exact same spot as our own mid-May Eclipse and the Depression deepened. Whether it was Herbert Hoover’s fault or not is neither here nor there, he was blamed. The severe economic woes of the United States
coupled with the perception that Hoover didn’t care about the average person cost him a re-election. Was it Hoover or the North Node in Taurus (as some astrologers believe) and the Eclipse on Algol? It is for sure that when the North Node is in Taurus the economic head of the United States takes a blow.
No matter how we feel about this administration, it is living on borrowed time, not even Fox News can cover up serious economic problems affecting the majority of the country. The question will be how long CAN they cover it up and how long will the people believe the spin that passes for journalism. The seeds of that answer lies in this May 15th Eclipse and the Eclipse on May 31st at 9 degrees Gemini, conjunct the US Uranus which rules the US Moon and the Fixed Star Aldebaran, the star the Hebrews labeled “God’s Eye.”
It would be nice if “God’s Eye” would turn toward Howard Dean and energize his campaign making him the unlikely candidate to beat George Bush. Howard Dean is the most affected by these eclipses. The Lunar Eclipse at the 25-degree Taurus/Scorpio axis hits his Sun, and the May 31st 9 degree Gemini impacts his Moon. He is sandwiched between these powerful luminaries. As I’ve said before, Dean has some good aspects on Election Night of November 2, 2004 he just has to be able to wind through the land mines between now and then as Saturn will conjunct his Uranus in his hidden 12th house, and over the next 18 months to square his Neptune and Mars in Libra, plus the Mars/Sun opposition will oppose his Saturn and square his progressed Chiron, there is some type of “wounding” he must rise above. These are tough aspects to weed through, particularly the Mars/Sun opposition on August 27, 2003. If Dean can weather all that, he has a chance come election.
Mars will be the closest to earth that it’s been in 73,000 years. This aspect alone could send Mother Nature into a tailspin making that the BIG story of the year, “eclipsing” all political considerations.
One final note on Dean, he is experiencing what the Hindu’s call a Sadi Sati that is when Saturn is transiting the sign before the Moon, the sign of the Moon and the sign after the Moon. It’s supposed to bring 7 and half years of bad luck. I haven’t tracked this with too many of my clients, but I found out about the Sadi Sati when I was going through it myself and it was tough. It started getting better when it was mid-way through the sign after my Moon, and by the late summer of 2004 Dean will have passed that midway point
And now on with the rest of the stable of Democratic contenders:
Graham (11.09.1936, Coral Gables, FL.)
With Saturn moving into Cancer, this will provide a “boost” to the Graham message, before that Saturn will square his Mars and Moon over the next few weeks and Pluto is squaring his Neptune. These aspects brought him some tough health issues and his strength is not up to par yet. One of his biggest problems (as with Howard Dean) is Neptune square his Mercury all the rest of the year with hard to quell “rumors” swirling around. Lies about him will abound and they will be difficult to track down and squelch. The real becomes the unreal.
Gephardt (01/31/1941 St Louis, MO)
In some ways Gephardt has one of the toughest runs ahead. Neptune conjuncts his Sun, any lie he tells will catch up with him. Saturn is going to square his Moon very soon, however it won’t last long, nonetheless, he is going to be doing some soul searching, plus his progressed Moon is in early Cancer, so for a few months Saturn will be “chasing” the moon and this can turn the “public” against him. Pluto will be conjunct his Mars most of 2003 and 2004, setting up power plays all around him, however I believe he will be able to survive those and it sets off his anger. I don’t know that I see enough “anger” to take on the schoolyard bullies.
Kuchinich (Aug. 10, 1946 Cleveland, OH)
The youngest ever elected Mayor of Cleveland is all grown up now and more than able to take on the bullies with transiting Jupiter conjunct his Sun and Pluto in a trine. However He also has a ton of Libra and Saturn will square all of that throughout 2003 and part of 2004. He will shine a light on a bunch of stuff that needs to come to light regarding his congressional brethren and this administration and he is and will be a thorn in their side. Kuchinich has support with environmentalists and people who want to see the right thing done in this country, but with Venus conjunct his Neptune and squaring the US Venus and Jupiter, people feel unsure of his strength. He needs to get his “money” machine rolling right away. The Saturn square his Libra could strengthen his resolve to win. Leo’s like to win. In the US Vertex Directed Chart (another form of Karmic progressions) Saturn is opposing his Venus, giving him a hard time getting traction, that will move off over the next few months and then we will see about Kuchinich. He would be a powerful voice and ally to any candidate. Whoever gets the nod needs to bring him on board right away.
Clark (Dec. 23, 1944 Little Rock, AR)
Clark will be the candidate most immediately affected by Saturn’s ingress into Cancer, it will immediately oppose his Mercury, Sun and conjunct his Saturn (his second Saturn Return) Whatever he decides over the next two months could change by fall. He is tough and could be up for the fight, he absolutely wouldn’t be a good one to take on; he isn’t afraid or intimidated by this administration. He too has Pluto conjunct his Mars which trines his Moon, anything they have on Clark that they might threaten to make public, he will say “bring it on.” The next three months could convince him that he cannot win; however by August, he could change his mind. I also have some concerns about his health or the health of one of his family members that would make him cautious about the run.
Kerry (12.11.1943, Denver, CO)
Oddly Kerry’s chart has a lot of ups and downs here. Transiting Pluto is conjunct his Sun and opposing his Moon signifying transformation on a deep level. However His progressed Sun is in a sextile to his Natal Sun, but his progressed Saturn opposes. His North Node and Pluto conjuncts the South Node of the US Chart (something coming back to him?) His star could fade after late fall, leaving the way open to either a surprise candidate or one of the candidates coming on strong around the bend.
One concern I have regarding Liberman is the Republicans and their media help Liberman get the nomination for two possible reasons. One, they think they can beat him, and two if they can’t the neo-cons would have a sympathetic ear in the White House. The bookend eclipses don’t hit his chart as forcefully as they do Howard Dean, however they come close. His Mars is 23 degrees Taurus (I wouldn’t want Mars that close to Algol but…) and his Jupiter is only three degrees from the Solar Eclipse on May 31st, and the Mars/Sun opposition in August when Mars is within spitting distance of the earth, falls across his Sun in Pisces.
Right now my vote for a Summer/Fall upset would be Mother Nature and Howard Dean.
