Let’s play pretend. It’s January 1, 1900 and William McKinley is the President of the United States. Astrologers have been specially gathered at the White House to predict the next century. Serious and sure they pull out their charts anxious to do a good job. That’s me, do you see me, I’m in the back of the room.
These are the predictions for the next 100 years from this august body of astrologers: plagues, killing millions across the world. That’s a shocking opening, but wait there’s more. Never before seen objects in the sky dropping horrible instruments of destruction, raining terror and death on masses of people, there will be so much pain and suffering, people will beg God to take them. A financial depression, the likes of which society has never known, people will kill themselves as they are ruined and money will be worthless, millionaires will die penniless and if you have the resources to get food, there will be little food to buy because the “bread basket” of the world will experience a horrendous drought. The drastic and dramatic earth changes of floods, tornadoes, volcanoes, and earthquakes will almost be a relief to the deprivation occurring to mankind. There will be assassinations and attempted assassinations of our Presidents and leaders throughout the world and the next President you elect will be murdered.
Think of it, tens of millions will die of starvation, illness, war and senseless acts of brutality. Children killing children, parents brutalizing their young, brother and sister stealing from one another, and good men and women turning their faces away, doing nothing. Before we reach mid-century a great evil man will rise out of Europe bringing torture and death to millions by his policies. Horrible, all horrible, the next 20 years alone from 1900 to 1920 holds massive amounts of disaster, we will be lucky to survive. The south node of the January 1, 1900 conjuncts the US Mars and squares Neptune; the United States will pay a karmic price in this century.
Wait, wait, remember me in the back of the room, here are my predictions. We will find our strength, grieve our losses and we will survive to enjoy freedom, peace and prosperity before the end of the century.
We did, we did survive. My grandparents lived through it all and then some – died of old age. My parents and their siblings lived through it all and died of old age. So did all their friends and their friend’s parents, and I was 57 when the 20th Century passed, doing extremely well then and now. To survive the next 20 years of 2000 we must step out of fear.
1900 Then and Now
The 1900 chart had 4 planets in Sagittarius (Saturn at 27 degrees Sagittarius) plus Chiron and North Node, Pluto and Neptune in Gemini (Pluto at 15 and Neptune at 25) The Moon, Sun and Mars were in Capricorn (business and money and Mars was opposing the US natal Sun ensuring some dramatic wars for America in the 20th Century) Venus was at 6 degrees of Aquarius. This is important, because at the outbreak of WWI Neptune was opposing Venus (Give ‘em the old Razzle Dazzle) and Pearl Harbor was hit when Pluto was opposing Venus. (Razzle Dazzle ‘em)
The Depression started when transiting Pluto opposed and transiting Saturn squared the 1900 Saturn. Also in 1939 when that swaggering, stage hog tyrant Hitler burst forth with the depth of his evil, Pluto entered 0 degrees Leo and never went back to the nurturing sign of Cancer. I am sure by now you’ve heard of Hitler’s “Razzle Dazzle” in burning down the Reichstag, so he could launch his own evil empire. Neptune was squaring Mercury and North Node in the 1900 chart; the lies around the WWII mess were already being spun worldwide.
I can’t go into all of the aspects of President’s serving the last 100 years, but I did check Roosevelt and JFK and it was clear they wouldn’t make it through their terms. Even the last term of McKinley had Saturn conjunct the 1900 Mars on his Inauguration Day and Mars ruled the 8th house of death plus the 5th house in the 1900 chart was on the 8th house cusp at his Inauguration. (The 5th house is the 8th house from the 10th, the death of a leader.)
Chiron seems to play a big part in the wounding of America’s consciousness leading to growth and change. Chiron was being aspected in the 1700 chart at the beginning of the Revolutionary War, aspected in the 1800 chart at the beginning of the Civil War and aspected in the 1900 chart when Pearl Harbor was bombed. Chiron/Pluto conjunction was aspected by Pluto in the 2000 chart when the World Trade Towers were brought down. Chiron and Pluto are at 11 degrees Sagittarius, right on the Ascendant of the US natal Chart; the collective will change like it or not, and ultimately for the better as the 2000 Sun trines Saturn exactly. (10 Capricorn to 10 Taurus.) We will grow up and take responsibility for our actions. The Moon in the 2000 chart opposes Saturn but sextiles the Sun, so we have opportunities to grow up. The 2000 Mars conjoins the natal US Moon exact, the feminine will be energized and gain power over the next 10 years, believe it or not.
The fortunes of the current President don’t look so good in the 2000 chart: Jupiter in the 8th in an applying square to GWB’s Saturn, and Jupiter in the Inaugural chart opposes Venus in the 2000 chart, and transiting Uranus is squaring them both and will be squaring off and on until 2004 election. Moon and Saturn opposition sets up a t-square to Bush Pluto. Mars exactly inconjuncts Bush Saturn. Sun squares Bush Moon and his Chiron and in the 10th house Cancer is intercepted; we don’t know who Bush is or what he stands for, his Mars falls in the 12th house of the Millennium Chart and Mars rules his mid-heaven. George simply is not in charge, only the “shadow knows,” who pulls the strings.
Actually the fortunes for both the Democrats and the Republicans don't look too great for the upcoming election. Again, a hotly debated election.
Election 2000 found Saturn squaring Mars in our Millennium Chart, Pluto was conjunct Chiron and Pluto (we were being wounded and promoted into growth) and the razzle dazzle planet herself, Neptune was, to the minute, on the Millennia South Node in Aquarius.
If George makes it to the 2004 Election, and that’s not a guarantee, I don’t see where he has a smooth run, and the chart of the Republican Party indicates difficulties, with either a loss of their candidate or the election.
Of all the present candidates, Clark, Dean, Graham and Kerry best fit the Millennia profile, with Clark and Dean being the standouts. You can expect an all out “razzle dazzle ‘em” from GWB based on his filing papers for his candidacy. Briefly he has a Jupiter (1st house conjunct his Pluto) opposing Neptune, squaring Mercury. Unfortunately, Jupiter/Neptune has a tendency to be the “bubble that burst,” and retrograde Mercury sits on the 2000 chart Saturn, could be restrictions on George that he should have had in the first place. “Razzle dazzle” is dying (oh I know, I know, not fast enough, but it is dying.)
We have given so much power to George Bush as either a Satan or Savior but I need to note that with Bush’s Solar Arc Venus conjunct his Moon/Jupiter Node in Libra, Election Day could be a “you win if you lose” day. Compelling aspects to indicate that George Bush really wants to serve another term aren’t there. Particularly since the Presidency hasn’t been and won’t be on his terms, even though he has liked the perks of power. Nevertheless, a lot is going to happen to George between now and election. Another indication of George wanting to move on, often Pluto oppose Uranus gives a desire for a change in career. I’d support him in those efforts.
Remember, whatever happens has happened before and the “razzle dazzle” is supposed to scare and frighten and make people feel powerless, that’s how these folks stay in power. They aren’t any different than us and we need to say, “BOO” to them more often.
The Neptune in Leo generation started in the early 1900’s. Stars burst on the scenes, Pickford, Fairbanks, WWI, The Roaring 20’s, money, free flowing booze, and a decade of parties. Razzle Dazzle was truly born, and when Neptune went into Virgo in 1929, it all crashed and for 10 years the lights weren’t as bright. In 1939 came the “big dog” Pluto to give the bright lights more power than they had ever seen with foggy drifty Neptune. Stars were born and want to be stars in sports, movies, business, and politics. Bigger than life they came, FDR, Churchill, Stalin, and Hitler. Gone With the Wind was the number one movie, big, huge massive numbers of extras and the Academy Award, that movie made the stars bigger than ever. Dynasties were launched, Kennedy’s and the Bush’s. The Kennedy’s made their money in booze and the Bush’s in trading money and resources to Hitler, ah yes Pluto in Leo with the feel of “look out ole Mackie’s back.”
Unlike Neptune who just drifted on, Pluto left one of his buddies in the background to keep the good times rolling, he left Trans-Pluto who is now at the gasping end of Leo making us all question our need to raise up ordinary people and make them a star with big salaries, while we spend our time making sure they get all the money and goodies. We are beginning to see, from the Monarchy down to faux leaders in government, corporations, sports, movies etc., the obscene bloated aspects of Leo.
There is a slow dawning that these people are not better or special, just better con men. Perhaps another 1939 movie gave us a glimpse of what to look for with Pluto in Leo; the Wizard of Oz was just a little man behind the curtain and Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Lion, the Scarecrow had the power themselves to change things. That realization only came after they saw the reality of what was passing for power.
Pluto in Sagittarius is now giving the Leo generation it’s final boost, but the “stars” are rapidly becoming caricatures of themselves desperately trying to keep the curtain up, but it will come down on those who would trade razzle dazzle for the real thing. We have a culture obsessed with “reality shows” because we no longer can sustain our own “real selves.” Even now as Trans-Pluto is making it’s way toward the quiet healing vibrations of Virgo, the “serving others” sign, Pluto is moving toward Capricorn and will come a time for a different kind of leader. We are living in dark times but we don’t know where that darkness is going to lead. History shows us that it leads into the light.
Truthfully, whether we love him or hate him we are still giving Bush the status of the “OZ.” He is not! All our leaders are only leaders because “we” said they were. Like Dorothy, we must find the courage to “pull back the curtain,” and keep it pulled back so all can see.
From “Chicago” Music by John Kandar – Words by Fred Ebb
If you’ve seen Chicago, good, if not I recommend it. When you read these words, think a little Ragtime and a little Jazz of the 20’s with George Bush as Billy Flynn and Ashcroft, Rumsfield, Cheney, Rove, Perle, Wolfowitz as the chorus line.
Give ‘em the old razzle dazzle, razzle dazzle ‘em
Give ‘em an act with lots of flash in it,
and the reaction will be passionate
Give ‘em the old hocus-pocus, bead and feather ‘em
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?
What if your hinges all are rusting, what if, in fact, you’re just disgusting?
Razzle dazzle ‘em and they’ll never catch wise.
Give ‘em the old razzle dazzle, Razzle dazzle ‘em
Give ‘em a show that’s so splendiferous and row after row will grow vociferous.
Give ‘em the old flim flam flummox, fool and fracture ‘em
How can they hear the truth above the roar?
Throw ‘em a fake and a finagle, they’ll never know you’re just a bagel
Razzle dazzle ‘em and they’ll beg you for more.
Back since the days of old Methuselah,
everyone loves the big bambooz-a-ler
Give ‘em the old three-ring circus, stun and stagger ‘em
When you’re in trouble go into your dance,
Though you are stiffer than a girder they let you get away with murder.
Give ‘em the old Razzle dazzle, Razzle dazzle ‘em
Give ‘em an act that’s unassailable, they’ll wait a year ‘til you’re available
Show ‘em the first rate sorcerer you are
Long as you keep ‘em way off balance, how can they spot you got no talents.
Razzle dazzle ‘em and they’ll make you a star.
PS A few months before the 2000 Elections, Sharon won in Israel and I saw that as a bad omen for the future direction of this country and the world. Belgium just had an election and this man won; I see this as an omen as well.BBC NEWS | Europe | Belgian PM wins second term
