Senate Majority Leader, Bill Frist

Geneva Clark

On election day, November 5, 2002, we knew there would be some shuffling around and changes made in who was elected and who would serve, due to Uranus turning direct in motion the day before. The nature of this aspect serves to underscore the unusual and extraordinary circumstances of our US elections lately. Venus, as Libran Trent Lott's planetary ruler, was also in retrograde motion, so it's to be expected that he would not hang onto his status as Majority Leader, now that Venus has turned direct in motion. Interesting that when Venus returned to the exact degree she occupied on election day, outcries and outrage over Lott's indecent remarks begin to surface.

Reports are coming in, gathering in strength and potency, that the changing of the guard signals the strong possibility of Tennessee Senator Bill Frist becoming the next Senate Majority Leader.

Natal Chart for Senate Majority Leader, Bill Frist

Bill Frist was born, in Nashville, Tennessee, on February 2, 1952. Besides having a healing Pisces stellium, Frist was a cardiac surgeon and physician before coming to the Senate after the 1994 election, Frist also has the businessman's Capricorn Moon, although we don't know the exact degree.

But what works in Frist's favor, and bolsters his chances of ascending to a new leadership status is transiting Jupiter, in Leo, retrograding back, to a lucky exact trine to his own natal Aries Jupiter. This takes place in January 2003, only two weeks after the Senate Republican Caucus meets to decide Trent Lott's fate. The retrograde position of Venus on the day of the November elections promises a change in the elections.

Only two months later, maybe the time it takes for Lott to remove his office and for Frist to establish his own; things never move quickly in Washington politics, transiting Uranus, in Pisces, begins the long series of conjunctions to his natal Pisces stellium. Uranus will contact Frist's North Node, indicating that he will gain through a group endeavor, advancing his circle of influence and becoming the object of public acclaim.

Frist's North Node is closely tied to his Pisces Sun. Trans Uranus will make an exact hit in late April ushering in a period of change, with some uncertainty. Frist will be in new and different situations and circumstances, with the dynamics changing frequently challenging him to stay on his toes and to keep his equilibrium.

Frist's communication skills will be enhanced and given deeper insights by the conjunction from trans Uranus to his natal Mercury, also in early Pisces. This can be a dynamic time for him to develop his life potential and to reach out to people of all cultures and lifestyles, and to communicate (Mercury) that the old ways are laid to rest and that a new day, and chapter, is unfolding. With Mercury involved Frist will be interacting with the media more as well.

While this all sounds very noble, and it's reassuring that new blood and a new outlook is going to be coming in to lead the GOP, unfortunately they'll all still follow the same old policies that reward those that need it least.

They'll continue to rape the economy and the environment and play War, while the citizenry face another year of job losses, mortgage foreclosures, business bankruptcies, inadequate health care, weakened educational standards.....well, you get the idea. Bill Frist has been fortunate to avoid the labels of racist and bigot that bedeviled Trent Lott, but he's still just "one of the boys" when it comes to Republican politics, as usual.
