Chaos: (Webster) A condition of total disorder or confusion. Chaos: (Astrology) Ruled by Neptune and the 12 house - dissolving what is with what seems to be or might be or could be or “what were we talking about again?”
Neptune, for good or for ill, is the dreamer, the liar, the deluded, and the weaver of tales and the supporter of criminal optimism. In its highest form it is the creative being, the explorer of other possibilities, the mystic. In politics Neptune can take the face of Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter and nothing is, as it would seem to be.
BUSINESS TALK AND THE DREAM WEAVER
“The business wrongdoers will be punished,” said the Mad Hatter, and the Stock Market fell. That was the kind of day George W. Bush, the King of Corporations, had on Wall Street, July 9th, and no one believed him. The words of the man with a Neptunian 70% approval rating was not trusted to walk his talk. I would bet it was a painful day; even a humiliating day and such is the dark side of Neptune when it falls with a thud. Neptune was riding high as a kite for GWB today, but the wind wasn’t blowing. One Wall Street analyst was quoted as saying “This was like hearing from the “Foggy Bottom.”
Much has been made of Neptune in GWB's natal and transiting chart, with his Sun and Saturn in the 12th house, which is where Neptune and the “Foggy Bottom" lives. There is also the problem of transiting Neptune in his 7th house of open enemies and partners, or trusted advisors, indicating he might be getting bad or confusing advice at a time when his own inner counsel is playing havoc with him. Neptune opposing his Mercury and Pluto rounds out his bout with illusion plus there is an inconjunct to his Mars, ruler of his midheaven. If that isn’t enough to turn the moon blue, Jupiter the expander, big spender, and potential wisdom is squaring his midheaven indicating “wisdom” gone awry making one falsely believe they can control all they touch and finding out their “touch” is full of hot air.
Mr. Bush is steeped in the energy of chaotic Neptune energy all over his natal chart, in his pre-natal chart, those sub-conscious terrains, he has no less than Mercury, Sun, and Jupiter all in a conjunct pattern to his Natal Neptune in his third house. Sub-consciously Mr. Bush has a very hard time telling or even recognizing the truth, he makes it up as he goes along. The transiting aspects of Moon and Mercury in Cancer was squaring the whole thing with Chiron finishing out a t-square from Capricorn, and Mr. Bush’s Natal Pallas Athena in Capricorn watching over. Athena is the Goddess who holds your feet to the fire in order to see justice is truly done or you pay a price.
This gives you some idea of the swirling masses of the deluded, foggy and chaotic mess our leader’s mind is moving. Mr. Bush’s carefully controlled administration is breaking apart, leaking away. Because of his own personal confusion and efforts to cover up, his hostility toward others will be on the increase as will their hostility toward him. For the rest of this year, the more he tries to cover up his lack of a concrete vision and the more this administration’s dishonesty is concealed, the more it will all come unglued.
The entire Administration is afflicted with the foggy bottom of Neptune. Vice President Cheney has transiting Neptune square his Sun and Saturn, he can expect his secrets to have a public airing, and he might wish to consider the fate of Spiro Agnew. Rumsfield, Rice, Powell and Ashcroft will be hit with Neptune’s rain and fog in the next 18 months. And the United States itself has had Neptune lifting from the bottom of our South Node to the top, all that has previously been hidden from us regarding our government’s actions, with transiting Uranus sitting on the Natal Moon (representing the people) we will be shocked.
The upstart of this will see Mr. Bush dissembling more and more, becoming hostile as the world turns hostile toward him and his agenda. This administration is now between a rock and a hard place with the people they owe on one side, the people they serve on the other side and their own secret agenda in the middle. Absolutely none of these factions will be able to cooperate with each other. This is a mess and not one that will be easily cleaned up before the real Karmic Lord Saturn reaches the US and Bush’s Sun in about eighteen months.
George Bush was ill equipped and unprepared for this job, it was his arrogance and Neptune that made him believe he should and would have the job of President at any cost. Well, this is the price - he can give up his hidden agenda, be completely honest with the American people, and work toward creative solutions for the real problems facing America, and we will help him govern or he will spend a lot of time during his term trying to tack Jell-O to a tree.
