NOVEMBER 2 – ALL SOULS DAY
In Mexico, November 2 is called “The Day of the Dead.” A fairly dramatic look at life. The situation in parts of Mexico today would certainly give them reason to be dramatic. “Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink,” With parts of the South struggling to find every drop of water they can and the states of Chiapas and Tabasco in Mexico under water from torrential rains and flooding thousands of people out of their homes things are absolutely chaotic and into that the Writers Guild is threatening a strike because they are not being treated fairly in royalties from the producers, and the stock market is tanking along with mortgages; and George Bush is spending over a trillion on a civil war in Iraq and talking about Iran and WWIII. There is a sense of Nero; if I listen I can almost hear the strains of his fiddle. Actually I hope Dennis Kucinich is right and he did see a UFO from outer space, maybe they would drop on down and help us out here, we aren’t doing so well in this country as a people. PETULANT, HUFFY, IRRITABLE, ILL-TEMPERED Yesterday our President, the “use to be” leader of the free world, could only be described as “petulant.” While giving a speech at the Heritage Foundation, a group who makes up at least 15 percent of his 24 percent true believers, Mr. Bush said if Congress didn’t give him “water-boarding and the AG he picked out, there just would not be an Attorney General over the next year. By trying to cut off his ability to torture people, Congress is simply making it too hard for him to pick an Attorney General and until they see it his way he will take the US marbles and go home. Transiting Saturn has just exited his first house, but with Neptune turning direct and getting ready to go back over the Saturn/Neptune opposition of this last summer that aspected his 21 Leo Venus, George continues to leave kind of a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Jupiter is about to leave Sagittarius where she has been sextiling his Libra and giving him some help against the slings and arrows of mis-fortune. George has a tough 2008 year coming up and because of that, could make it a tough year for the US as we go into a new beginning 1 year. Rudy Giuliani is making up cancer statistics and putting the information in an ad, no matter what anyone says. Maybe it’s the chemo drugs he took a couple of years ago for his prostrate surgery that is confusing him to the point that he isn’t able to read the correct statistics for prostrate and breast cancer or maybe he’s just a blowhard that desperately wants to be President and the end justifies the means. Saturn just crossed over Rudy’s first house cusp (May 28, 1944, 11:52 am, Brooklyn, NY, and transiting Saturn in the first isn’t the best placement when you are trying to let your true personality shine. On top of that, Rudy’s Sun and Uranus squares Chiron in the first and T-Saturn is about to cross that point, conjuncting and squaring respectively. With his Chiron conjoining GWB’s Mars, either Rudy is about to deal a wound to Bush or Bush is about to wound Rudy and Rudy is absolutely about to wound himself before this year is out or sometime in early 2008. Hillary may well end up being the candidate for the Democratic Party but not before she eats a large piece of humble pie. Neptune has turned toward another square to her Mercury and her answers won’t be as clear as she thinks, this last debate was an indication of what’s to come. She and the media and the DLC made a big mistake by throwing her out there a year ago with an “I won, I won.” Her progressed mid-heaven ruled by Mercury will have advanced to conjunct her Mars and Pluto with the possibility of wresting the election away from anyone the GOP puts up (progressed Mercury is at 27 Sagittarius and plagued by Pluto all year and Neptune squares her Mercury and opposes her Saturn on Election Day. Another stolen election? Just a question. She gets a little boost from transiting Jupiter conjunct her progressed Sun and sextile her natal Sun, but alas the boost doesn’t last long. There is no doubt that Hillary Clinton is a strong candidate but there also isn’t any doubt she has some high hurdles to clear before she can even come close to the prize, don’t look however, for her to “give up” until the last dog is shot. Ms. Clinton is heavily tied to Wall Street (more on that later, remind me in a couple of days) Barack Obama begin to lose steam last August when Saturn crossed over his North Node and squared his Moon, the people’s interest began to wane and I don’t think he will get them back unless something derails Hillary and his campaign is not playing very smart. He is on the verge of losing credibility with his anti-gay stance, at least with his base. John Edwards, Dodd, Kucinich, and Biden are the ones playing to the Democratic base, not the GOP base. We don’t have a country, no one does anymore, haven’t had for a long time. We have corporations who have no allegiances and therefore make us all vulnerable. We are owned by China, in fact it was the trillions of dollars borrowed from China that permitted the housing bubble to get out of hand and what China doesn’t own, Japan, Saudi Arabia, England, France and Germany own hand in hand with the corporations who own them. Nixon started the sell off of this country and the practice was continued, exploding under the Reagan years and just continued at break neck speed since then. What I don’t know is what does the US own and where. As many of my articles have addressed in the past, this period of time in history has its roots in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII and the circle has once again come around to war. The Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII have some common themes however the most common is the fact that those three wars dramatically changed the course of the world, and so will this war as it, I fear, continues to expand and place a horrific dark cloud over the earth. I don’t believe we will destroy ourselves, I believe the world will pull itself back from the brink and I believe a real leader or leaders will come forth. In the meantime, there will be and is a rise of spiritual growth and understanding of the inner connectedness of us all and the power within that understanding. I am still trying to figure out why people are so blindly afraid. We’ve killed more innocent people in Iraq, not to mention Afghanistan than were killed on 9/11; more of our soldiers have now died than those on 9/11. How much blood does it take to wash away the fear? I don’t know, but I do know it has immobilized this country for 7 years, that should be enough time to move on to something else, like growth. As I look around my world today, the leaves on the trees in the park are gently falling to earth. There are only two colors in the park across the street, blazing red and cornflower gold. There is one other and that is green turning to gold. There is a soft morning breeze drifting across the city kicking the leaves through the air. My children are well, we have water, we have homes, I can breath with out the choking smoke that comes with fires and lingers in your lungs, I even have a Starbucks coffee sitting on my desk this morning and as I read of the disasters across this continent I feel very conscious of how precious each day is that we can see beauty, because tomorrow it could be this town, this state covered in disaster. I hope there is beauty where you are today. This will give you pause as to what we are facing in the future, a new kind of insurance that saves those who can afford them and lets the rest go. http://www.thenation.com/doc/20071119/klein

Kucinich forcing impeachment vote: http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Kucinich_says_he_will_force_House_1102.html Neptune's gone direct! Let's see what comes out of the fog! Posted by: Gilgamesh on November 2, 2007 10:56 PMHah, I got first post ;p Ok, so looking briefly at synastry between Darth Cheney and Kucinich, the closest aspect in the longitudes is Kucinich' Saturn square Cheney's Jupiter/Saturn conjunction. Kucinich just might be able to pull this off or at least cause more trouble for Cheney's shadow puppetry. In fact there are lots of ugly aspects in between these two, such as Cheney's Saturn oppose Kucinich's Mars, Kucinich's Pluto oppose Cheney's Mars.. Sheesh all I see are squares and oppositions and some of the ugliest ones possible. How much you want to bet Cheney's crew put out the order to put something as irrelevant as a UFO question in the presidential debates? We can put it on intrade.com! :) IMPEACH THE TREASONOUS USURPERS OF LIBERTY Posted by: Gilgamesh on November 2, 2007 11:05 PMWell, it looks like he's going to get his AG after all. http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/ Feinstein, Schumer to vote for Mukasey Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer and Dianne Feinstein said this afternoon that they will vote to confirm Michael Mukasey, guaranteeing that the president's nominee to replace Alberto Gonzales will survive a vote before the Senate Judiciary Committee and virtually assuring that he'll be confirmed by the full Senate. Schumer, who advocated on behalf of Mukasey until the nominee refused to offer his opinion on the legality of waterboarding, said that Mukasey was not his "ideal choice" but might be the best that Democrats could expect to get out of George W. Bush. In a statement, Feinstein seemed to adopt an argument advanced by White House press secretary Dana Perino yesterday: The Senate should confirm Mukasey and then "ask" him to return to the Senate Judiciary Committee to discuss the issue of waterboarding further. As we noted yesterday, there's no guarantee that Mukasey will answer questions about waterboarding once he's confirmed -- indeed, there's plenty of reason to believe that he won't. Feinstein's solution: Whatever Mukasey's views may be, Congress should pass legislation "explicitly" banning waterboarding and then trust that the new attorney general will enforce that law. Posted by: Pat C on November 2, 2007 11:06 PMMichael, this is the only time I am going to respond to your demands but I have a couple of things I would like to say. First of all, this is not a public site in the strict sense of "public" I bought the domain name and pay every month to have this site up. Not all sites have a comment section and I decided I would like to have one because of the intelligence and information and discussions people bring. I certainly have not been disappointed through the years with the quality of the posters. Astrology isn't a black and white science and no one can every know all there is to know. I talked to a man in England who was very well known astrologer several years ago and he was 87, he had been studying astrology since he was 10 and still didn't feel he had come close to mastery after 77 years of study. I was in my 30's then and thought I could unravel the whole cosmos, he was very kind but chuckled at the thought. Over these last several years I have studied every single aspect of astrology there is, I won't bore you with how many disciplines there are, but I still consider myself a novice. How much bipartisanship do you think a person wades through in their life to form a "partisan" opinion? How much history, how many legal cases, how many government documents, how many astrological classes, how many books, how many dots through the decades do you think a person has to connect in a lifetime to come to a partisan opinion? To see through the lies, the obfuscations, the corruption, the misdeeds, and to see that the preponderance of those lies, corruption come from one side of the aisle or the other and right now in this time in history the worst of it is coming from the GOP. I am happy to change sides when I see the worst coming from the other direction. I don't know why you're angry Michael with me or anyone on this site. I don't know why you attack. Unless you read this blog daily and hourly you have no idea the posts I've had to delete because of length because the "truth" is I don't have the financial means to pay for more bandwidth. Neither I nor anyone on this site owe you a thing, not an explanation of this site, or a platform. We don't owe you a promise that when you attack you won't be attacked, and I don't owe you the right to have your posts remain when they are attacking, vitrolic and lengthy. I don't owe Billions of people access blogs of all stripes from around the world, they come to learn, share, and experience, if that doesn't happen they move on to something else. If you aren't learning from this little site, this is not the site for you. Posted by: Sally on November 2, 2007 11:46 PM Carol, the reason there wasn't an article is because of a little computer glich. Posted by: Carol on November 3, 2007 12:17 AMWhen Mercury goes direct, and you may possibly be thinking of donations, I know donating to Astroworld is a wise investment, and along with that, Kiva http://www.kiva.org/ . I would not have been able to cope with all the strange goings on in the world without astrology, and the brilliance I have had at my fingertips because of political astrology. The generosity Sally has shown on Astroworld is without equal. The cruelty of corporate hegemony and their efforts to create a flat world has devastated people all over the world. Kiva makes it possible for anyone with a computer, internet connection and $25 to become a micro lender where it counts as if it were thousands. Gold went over $800 an ounce. Not a good sign for the dollar. Patb I'd call it volatile and fluid, the ole Uranus Flying Monkey Wrench. As Sally often says you have to get there from here. Great aspects but busted your leg a few weeks ago, so much for the race. Morgana, you might be interested in this: http://www.boingboing.net/2007/11/02/drew-carey-on-medica.html#comments I had already given up on legalization or at least decriminalization as it was pretty obvious that big pharm, textile industries and other people who stand to benefit from its illegal status (i.e. CIA drug dealers) definitely were not going to acknowledge how backwards and dictatorial the marijuana laws are. Maybe someone like Drew Carey can shed some reason on this issue. Comments are good too. I read that article about the lady in Montana who offed herself after being raided by the feds for medical marijuana; I'm pretty sure it was you or someone here that posted that. That's just evil. End the War on Some Drugs and the War for Your Mind! Like you said, the top 3 Dem candidates aren't even going to address this, and although there are more pressing issues like ending the war, I think it's obvious the laws aren't working when 1 out of 4 people are in prison for drug-related offenses which (in some cases) are a medical, and definitely not a criminal problem. But hey, let's just build more prisons so the prison-police-industrial complex can rake in more tax revenue to beat us into submission while murderers and rapists go free. Boooo Thanks Gilgamesh, in fact it was John Edwards stance that it shouldn't be legalized made me decide against voting for him, that little bitty piece of the debate made a huge impact on my decision and that of my husband and son. The lame excuse that its a bad precedent to set of our children doesn't fly. Molly Ivins Aug. 30, 1944 10:12am Monterey, CA. I think Molly Ivins has been a great loss to this world at this time I knew Molly, not well but well enough to call her a pretty good acquaintance. She was very witty, and very cynnical and hopeful all at the same time. She hated cancer, sympathy for her cancer and GWB, well she didn't actually hate him, he just disgusted her. Every now and then you see articles pop up about her, or quote her, but always with a "we miss her." She was quite a voice for sure. Posted by: Sally on November 3, 2007 06:30 AM"Books" good idea Barbara, I'm not sure if I can sell them on this site but I will try. Thanks Posted by: Sally on November 3, 2007 06:41 AMSally, um, why not have those of us who are able pledge to donate on a maintenance level so you don't have to worry. I didn't know this came out of your pocket. In fact have no idea what it costs to maintain a site, or improve one. Right now, no cash. But I can explain a little: my static site, not much in traffic, costs me about $108 a year. Bandwidth almost non-existent. But she has no doubt much more in the size of her archives. Many webmasters have a certain amount of traffic they will cover with a site. Sally gets more than the usual traffic, so they will charge accordingly, and the amount of hits she gets will be charged accordingly. One suggestion about bandwidth: check your old comment threads. At the end of a lot of them there is comment spam that is no doubt draining your coffers. Go into your Comment Manager or whatever and see if you can close off you old threads and clean out the spam. Posted by: Carol on November 3, 2007 08:00 AMMorgana, yup and the ultimate thing is, it's a victimless crime. Regardless of what sort of escapism a drug abuser (not responsible user, and this includes alcohol and tobacco) engages in, the crime is the irresponsibility of the person, not whatever it is that got them there. If someone sits around all their waking hours on the internet or playing video games to the detriment of paying their bills and taking care of their family, banning the internet and video games obviously isn't the solution, it's a failure on the part of the person themselves. Really, I don't want my tax money going to imprison people who are being treated as criminals instead of people with medical problems. Also, one extreme creates another - when you overly restrict something, you create an imbalance, which in this case often results in overglamorization of the activity. In one country I've been in, alcohol is treated as a social lubricant that even younger kids can drink. The kids have a social net of supervision in their families and if there's an extreme, it's corrected with reason. No surprise, then, that alcohol abuse that is typical of, say, a high school kegger or frat house party here in the States is basically non-existent there; it's simply frowned upon and rarely becomes a problem. That's not to say that there aren't alcoholics, because there will always be a small percentage of the population that can't handle it, but it's nowhere near as puritanical and extreme as it is here. Leading to the next concept of "some drugs are ok but these aren't" (nice of them to arrogate themselves that authority, along with what women can do with their own bodies and consenting adults can do in their bedrooms), it's ludicrous that known and proven killers like alcohol and tobacco are legal yet kill hundreds of thousands of people every year directly and indirectly (don't forget DUI) yet something that has never, ever killed anyone is, in some states, grounds for imprisonment and basically ruins careers. Obviously the lesson was learned with Prohibition; we just couldn't afford the problems of organized crime and violence surrounding it as alcohol and tobacco are much more ingrained into our culture than, say, in India where marijuana consumption has a similar status. Boils down to the elite making money off of it without "unacceptable" social repercussions (like crime families having more power than governments) One only has to see that cocaine is worth more in weight than gold to begin understanding just how important it is for those in power to keep such things illegal. I bet Afghanistan's poppy fields are alive and kicking despite the American occupation... by making something benign and arguably beneficial like marijuana legal, it opens up a whole sub-economy where everyday people can profit and enjoy their lives because prices would be much more reasonable, quality, quantity and variety would improve and people just wouldn't need the DEA or police to intervene in the type of violent struggles that take place over the very risky activity involved in trafficking anything illegal yet highly in demand, nor would they need nearly so much of these crazy medications that are just disconnecting people from people and screwing most people up in the long-term. Welll we can't have THAT now, can we? J. Edgar Hoover would spin in his cross-dressing grave! (not that there's anything wrong with cross-dressing) Those who make the laws, basically, are the ones who stand to gain the most from them. Iran/Contra comes to mind, as well as the drug and nuclear material trafficking that hopefully Sibel Edmonds will expose soon. She more or less comes out and says that it in the film "Kill the Messenger". Jack Abramoff, anyone? There is a LOT of power and money in the illicit drug trade and that's much of why normal folks like us can't sit around every once in a while with a frickin joint. Or worse, cancer patients wasting away from nausea and lack of hunger due to chemotherapy (hellish treatment in and of itself) can't have some natural hunger-inducing weed because.. of what? Corrupt lobbyists and intelligence agents need untraceable influence money? UGH! What a farce! Free country as long as you totally conform! Oh, great article by Bruce Schneier, "The War on the Unexpected": http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2007/11/the_war_on_the.html "We've opened up a new front on the war on terror. It's an attack on the unique, the unorthodox, the unexpected; it's a war on different. If you act different, you might find yourself investigated, questioned, and even arrested -- even if you did nothing wrong, and had no intention of doing anything wrong. The problem is a combination of citizen informants and a CYA attitude among police that results in a knee-jerk escalation of reported threats." The terrorists have already won. Free country, my arse. Ok ok I better stop or I'll be ranting all night. Sorry, had to get that out and I bet Morgana feels somewhat similarly. It's sad, though, that with such obvious solutions to many of our problems, the crapfest that is our electoral process is more focused instead on whether or not Kucinich saw a UFO. WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT Posted by: Gilgamesh on November 3, 2007 08:17 AMBTW Sally thanks for birth info and I will be donating this month. Posted by: Gilgamesh on November 3, 2007 08:21 AMAbout voting: I've been reading about mail voting-Oregon has been doing it for years with little problem. Automatic paper trail-votes scanned. No harrassment at the voting booth. Republicans hate it because they can't use their little tricks. The people at the Elections Board are usually civil servants not partisans working for the day or week. They are working people still young enough to endure a full day of work, not volunteers who are sick and cannot handle the stress. I was watching C-Span a few weeks back and there was a Congressional hearing on the upcoming crisis in poll workers. Many experienced ones are dying off, with few replacements. So several states are experimenting with allowing high school students to work the polls in exchange for extra credit. Other states are giving incentives for civil service workers to work the polls as well in exchange for some time off. Of course, the reason for this is that unlike so many other countries who hold their elections on Saturday and Sunday, we hold ours on a day that people must work. We don't even compromise here and have it on Friday when presumably people could take some time off early at the end of the day for voting, and definitely for counting. Sally, again thank you for creating this meeting place of spirit, mind and heart. It amazes me frankly the quality of discussion. More importantly, the quality of your posts. Used to be a time when i looked forward to a little daily ice cream (I've since given that up). Now, i look forward to coming here, sometimes five or more times a day just to read and feel tne treats that have been offered. I've often wondered whether or not there WILL BE an election. Other posters have mentioned this as well. I've no data to back up my "feeling" other than the collective behaviors of this administraion and those who support them, this blind adherence to some skewed fixed notion of right and privilege. The above was what i was thinking when i read All Soul's Day. Then surprise, surprise. . .this -- http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18654.htm Posted by: karen on November 3, 2007 12:37 PMI wanted to share another thought this morning, a dream sequence actually. I woke thinking about personal responsibility. It has always been up to each of us to leave a small footprint while attending the universe-ity on earth. Yet, there are far too many who do not understand the reason for doing this. Those who believe they're privileged, who believe it is their "right" to take what is not theirs, to disconnect their acts -- their cause and effect, are often giddily led down this rose-strewn path (something the Bush cabal has been very good at promoting). There is no personal responsibility in believing that somehow you are above reproach, that your acts are given meaning by a vengeful diety. (The Mother Jones article on Hilary Clinton's membership in the god-chose-me-to-be-a-leader club is one example of how this thinking permeates through Washington add the country). I'm not pollyannish enough to believe that this is going to change except by dismantling all that has fed this orgy of self interest. And, that's a good thing. Maybe the meek do inherit the earth along with the worms, beetles and waste eating organisms. Posted by: karen on November 3, 2007 01:00 PMI've wondered about that too, Karen. Maybe it's the Scorpio "keep your enemies close" thing, but I couldn't imagine sharing my most personal life (especially the spiritual part of it) with people who basically despise my being there at all. The whole dominionist thing wants women out of the public life altogether except for church and family stuff. She must know this if anything. How many other women pray with her there? One? Two? How can she pray with people who think basically that her wanting to be President is somehow demonic? Posted by: Carol on November 3, 2007 01:36 PMhttp://abcnews.go.com/WN/DOJ/story?id=3814076&page=1 Bush Administration Blocked Waterboarding Critic http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/057806.php A Last Thought Before the Senate Judiciary Committee Confirms Judge Mukasey By John W. Dean snip Today, Bush is under even deeper suspicion for activities far more serious than anything Nixon engaged in for there is evidence Bush has abused the laws of war, violated treaties, and ordered (or approved) the use of torture and political renditions, which are war crimes. Since Judge Mukasey’s situation is not unlike that facing Elliot Richardson when he was appointed Attorney General during Watergate, why should not the Senate Judiciary Committee similarly make it a quid pro quo for his confirmation that he appoint a special prosecutor to investigate war crimes? Richardson was only confirmed when he agreed to appoint a special prosecutor, which, of course, he did. And when Nixon fired that prosecutor, Archibald Cox, it lead to his impeachment. Before the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee completely cave-in to Bush, at minimum they should demand that Judge Mukasey appoint a special prosecutor to investigate if war crimes have been committed. If Mukasey refuses he should be rejected. This, indeed, should be a pre-condition to anyone filling the post of Attorney General under Bush. If the Democrats in the Senate refuse to demand any such requirement, it will be act that should send chills down the spine of every thinking American. (archives): "Benazir Bhutto was born with her Saturn—the ruler of her Capricorn Ascendant—placed in the Tenth House of earthly power (June 21, 1953; 7:59 pm; Karachi, Pakistan). Saturn here is the centerpiece of a stressful T-square involving Uranus, Neptune, and Chiron, ensuring that her hold on power will be continuously threatened by political rivals. Bhutto was first sworn in as Prime Minister on December 2, 1988 when transiting Saturn was exactly conjunct her Ascendant. Pakistan's President at the time deposed Bhutto on August 6, 1990, as transiting Uranus was near her Ascendant and closely opposing her Seventh House Mars. Mars here symbolizes the male opposition she faces during every election, as well as in daily life. After Bhutto returned to power in 1993, she was once again deposed on August 6, 1996 as transiting Saturn was squaring her Mars. Bhutto went into self-imposed exile as transiting Pluto entered her Twelfth House in May 1999. Now that transiting Pluto is about to emerge from her Twelfth House, so too is Bhutto emerging from exile. She faces enormous, powerful enemies, as transiting Pluto heads into its first opposition with her Sun, exact in mid-January 2008 when general elections for the next Prime Minister are expected". by Michael Wolfstar-www.stariq.com Posted by: kat on November 4, 2007 05:13 AMKat thanks for the time on Bhutto. Op-Ed Columnist Noun + Verb + 9/11 + Iran = Democrats’ Defeat? By FRANK RICH But what happens if President Bush does not bomb Iran? That is good news for the world, but potentially terrible news for the Democrats. If we do go to war in Iran, the election will indeed be a referendum on the results, which the Republican Party will own no matter whom it nominates for president. But if we don’t, the Democratic standard-bearer will have to take a clear stand on the defining issue of the race. As we saw once again at Tuesday night’s debate, the front-runner, Hillary Clinton, does not have one. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/04/opinion/04rich.html?_r=1&oref=slogin&ref=opinion&pagewanted=print Posted by: wv on November 4, 2007 01:54 PM

I laughed so hard when I saw a speech and questions of Ron Paul and it was a pretty GOP/Libertarian QandA. Well they asked Rep. Posted by: Sally on November 4, 2007 05:58 PMShy, the Kos article about earth was stunning and well worth the read. Funny how we can read about "other" beginnings and endings and think it won't happen here; when civilizations rise and fall we don't think it will be ours, but we will. I'm not sure earth will be destroyed but I am sure the people of the earth will be gone with maybe just a few to re-populate. I wonder if the "history" of our demise will with stand, if it does, it will be only in story form unless someone can figure out how to rig the "machines" (computers) they dig up and read what happened. I read someplace "in order to have it all, you have to accept the loss of it all." We are trying to hang onto our lives as we know it just as those in power are trying to hang onto what they know, just as there is a mindset of comfortableness in killing, stealing, torturing, blood lust to keep all and get more, there is also the mindset of love, generosity and peace and it seems impossible to meet in the middle. So much fear at the bottom of it all. Posted by: Sally on November 4, 2007 08:02 PMThe earth is a hard school for everyone it seems. As a reward Cheney/Libby/Rove outed her to columnist Robert Novak, destroying her career and almost her family into the bargain). Whole pages are blacked out thanks to the CIA. patb p.s. I know 'jack'(nothing) about Bhutto. Posted by: patb on November 5, 2007 01:39 AMSally, I was thinking along the same lines as you, about Pakistan now being a bigger threat than Iran, because they already have nuclear weapons. A while back on this thread, I posted a message to pay attention to what was going on in Pakistan. This was before Bhutto arrived back there, but I could see what was coming. First of all, I noticed that Bhutto was getting a lot of air time on talk TV, and was voicing strong pro American, pro West opinions. I think she was exiled in Britain, and she also seemed to have British support. Then it was announced that she would return to Pakistan on a certain date, to power-share with Musharraf, and that previous corruption charges for which she was ousted from power, would be dropped. Right away, I knew that Musharraf had fallen out of favor with the Bush administration, and that they were going to use Bhutto to gradually ease him out of office. I'm sure Musharraf knew this too, and I knew that he wouldn't want to share power with Bhutto. I can't say who launched that devastating attack on her, but my suspicions are that it was Musharraf, in concert with the Taliban. From the beginning, I saw Musharraf as an unwilling ally of America, and he only took real action against the Taliban, when he was forced to do so by Bush,(who in turn was pushed by Congress to do so). Lately you could see that Bush was putting pressure on him to take a harder stance against the extremists in his country. Musharraf has always had to walk a fine line between loyalty to the Bush administration, and loyalty to the Taliban whom many Pakistanis support. And by the way, there was nothing Democratic about the way Musharraf took power, or ruled, yet Bush kept referring to Pakistan as a Democracy, and continued to say so, even after Musharraf declared what amounts to Marshal Law. Just goes to show how this administration conveniently turns a blind eye to the truth, when it involves one of their allies. I don't think it will be easy for Bhutto to wrest power from Musharraf, and I forsee chaos and confusion in Pakistan's near future. I remember reading an article on Marjorie Orr's website concerning some fateful line running through Pakistan, and Afghanistan, and possibly Russia that connected with Bush. I will see if I can find the article. Meanwhile, thanks for posting all the Pakistan charts. I would like to look at them if I get a chance. Posted by: Crystal on November 5, 2007 02:51 AMWhy PatB you all fairly make me blush (that's my written impression of Butterfly McQueen to 'Miss Scarlett') Swamp all I have of Valerie Plame is the April 19th chart. At the time this happened Saturn was in Cancer and would be squaring her Aries, I honestly think it's the April date, the thing about that date making it more confusing is a person can understand if you get the month wrong or day wrong, those can be typo's but to get both month and day is a bit of a stretch for me. Still I take the April date. Saturn in that chart squares her Mercury giving her the ability to maintain her silence, but in the Aug. chart Saturn would be opposite her Sun, another restrictive aspect; plus on July 14, 2003 the day Joe Wilson published his op ed piece that Niger did not sell yellow cake to Iraq, Jupiter was at 20 Leo, the degree of her Sun (if she was born in August) I think we should just keep our eyes out for something that we can be sure is an accurate date. I believe it will be awhile, but I don't think the Wilson/Plame thing is over for this administration. The Civil suit is still pending and that might reveil some additional information. Posted by: Sally on November 5, 2007 03:24 AMSally thanks. I think it is the April date also. Being an Aries myself, that is how she feels to me energetically. The civil suit was dismiised, but the Wilson's filed an appeal. They had to file the original when they did because of the statutes of limitations. I don't beleive the suit can get a fair hearing while the Bushies are in office, but the appeal will hopefully be heard either during a new Dem admin, or now with a Dem majority in Congress and scrutiny to bear on the justice dept. there might finally be some turth getting out. It is apparent to everyone that this order to smear her and her husband came from the very top. I love the fact that this gutsy lady had the courage to say on Laryy King, (or was it 60 Min) that the president "wasn't a man of his word" since he didn't fire any of the people who were involved after he intially said he would on national TV. If anyone would like to see a replay of her or her husband's interviews, just go to You Tube and put their names in. Gosh , Sally, I've thought you were the best thing since sliced bread for awhile now, but I just LOVE what you've done to the place lately--would it be too early and/or the epitome of bad taste to sing a few bars of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead"? And it made me LOL to hear of Smirky the would-be chimperor's "concern" for Pakistan's leader suspending their constitution, esp. since as I've read elsewhere, GHWB was the one behind suspending OUR Constitution--not sure how long, but I think it happened when Ronnie Raygun got shot. This was posted on Salon by Nina Katarina, who asks, How come I have to go to a UK paper to read an article about this? http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/11/04/4th-amendment_email_privacy/ On October 8, 2007, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati granted the government's request for a full-panel hearing in United States v. Warshak case centering on the right of privacy for stored electronic communications. At issue is whether the procedure whereby the government can subpoena stored copies of your email - similar to the way they could simply subpoena any physical mail sitting on your desk - is unconstitutionally broad. This appears to be more than a mere argument in support of the constitutionality of a Congressional email privacy and access scheme. It represents what may be the fundamental governmental position on Constitutional email and electronic privacy - that there isn't any. What is important in this case is not the ultimate resolution of that narrow issue, but the position that the United States government is taking on the entire issue of electronic privacy. That position, if accepted, may mean that the government can read anybody's email at any time without a warrant. As to the voting issue, we must not be taken in by any new legislation that demands a "paper trail" from a privatized electronic voting machine because it has been proven the machines can still be hacked. There are several videos you should watch. Go to YouTube and search for "Hacking Democracy". Then watch this special with Dan Rather on touch screen voting: They have made laws that keep the public out of the precincts where the votes are counted on election night. Exit Polling is being thrown out (in some countries they count on the exit poll as the reliable result...not the actual vote!). We need a strong, organized Exit Polling organization run by the public in each precinct. We need to vote with paper and ink and the public needs to count the votes. All electronic voting machines which are now privately owned by corporations (who also control the secret proprietary software), should be deep-sixed immediately. We must remember that Stalin said, "It's not who votes that matters, it's who COUNTS the votes that really matters." Also, go to KPFA in Berkeley and go to the archives of "Guns and Butter". Seek out the shows about electoral politics with writers like Mark Crispin Miller etc. You can stream the shows online. There are many worth listening to. We need a national campaign to take our elections away from private corporations like Diebold etc. And we need a discussion about this among ourselves. Boy oh boy, I love the turn this thread has taken! There's meat on them bones at last. These mutable crosses forming on top of Musharraf's natal placements do suggest a sharp and defined turn in the road. Now you see him, now you don't. Plus, he has a solar lst/7th eclipse series between south leo (bye?) and north aq in Feb. '08. His life is a glass of water perched on the edge of a table. Interesting too, how many repug contenders(4)occupy the Repug chart's progressed Full Moon in pisces/virgo. South node again, mutable itchy-twitchy projection screen. Has anybody else thought of this. Perhaps the shredding of our Constitution, establishment of private armies, destruction of our armed forces, upsurge in racial and class conflict, destruction of the middle class, mammoth transfer of wealth from our Treasury to selected members of the oligarchy, crushing debt, pre-authorization of travel, etc. Perhaps all of this is because they know that global climate change is going to lead to turbulance like we've never seen before and they are getting prepared to quash us all? Now, this would take data collection, analysis and planning on their part, and that's the weak point in my conjecture. Whaddya think? Posted by: shylurker on November 5, 2007 07:27 PM

Coyote Economy Posted by: Pat C on November 5, 2007 10:00 PMpatb, It would be a stupid move on their part to round us up, but that doesn't mean they aren't planning it. Look at the planning that went into invading Iraq! Even I knew it was going to backfire on them for the simple reason that Urban warfare simply doesn't work. Not unless you nuke whole cities into rubble and dust, and even then insurgents will get away and move to the next town. Gore/Biden would sound good, so would Gore/Dodd....intelligence squared? Plus such an election would put the whole Clinton soap opera in the past where it belongs. Will the people in Georgia come up, following the African-Americans who fled decades ago into the cities? If so would they be able to cope with all of the cultural and racial diversity we now have, the fact that something other than churches dominate the social landscape. I don't ask this idly. True, people will stay if they think this is just a bad year or two. But if it isn't just a bad year that goes away, they will want to go where there is water. There was a post that said it a couple of threads ago: Cleveland, Chicago and Pittsburgh already have the infrastructure that only needs to be upgraded. I would add Cincinnati has neighborhoods where there are a lot of vacant houses that could use new tenants, or if the new tenants didn't want what was available, land that could be come plots for new homes. I was listening to NPR a few weeks ago and they said that Youngstown is now demolishing old homes because there are whole blocks of people who moved away and never returned because the factories died. For years they kept the old lines but now are drawing up plans for a smaller city. Detroit is the same way, although not planning to contract. Who knew that water problems might lead to those old places being needed again? Posted by: Carol on November 5, 2007 10:55 PMWhen I was a kid, people talked about desalinization plants, Back then it was considered impractical to say the least, since there was plenty of cheaper fresh water. But now, especially in places like Phoenix and Las Vegas, I can see people thinking about the Gulf of Mexico being a more reliable source than the Colorado river: if only they could get the salt out of the water. Vast aqueducts were built by the Romans to get water (fresh) to their cities. It is certainly not out of the question that something similar would be on the books with desalinization. No more water negotiations or digging deep, except for pipes. Water from Mexico, whether river or sea or local comes up through pipes to feed a thirsty southwest may well be something on the table very shortly. Posted by: Carol on November 5, 2007 11:03 PMNo time given so limited for interpretation, but has anyone taken a look at Mukasey's astro info? According to wikipedia he was born July 28, 1941 in the Bronx. One of the things I always admired about Israel, in the 70's, was the desalination plants they had constructed and were using. Do I have a gap in my history here? Did they decide to move in on Palestinian Territory because their source of fresh water tasted better than desalinated sea water? Nice going, Hillary. "Some of the consequences could essentially involve the end of globalization as we have known it ... as different parts of the Earth contract upon themselves in order to try to conserve what they need to survive," said Fuerth, who was national security adviser to former Vice President Al Gore. Rich countries could "go through a 30-year process of kicking people away from the lifeboat" as the world's poorest face the worst environmental consequences, which he said would be "extremely debilitating in moral terms." "It also suggests the kinds of hatreds that build up between different groups will be accentuated as these groups attempt to move to more clement locations on the planet," Fuerth said. "We predict a scenario in which people and nations are threatened by massive food and water shortages, devastating natural disasters and deadly disease outbreaks,"… Climate change will force internal and cross-border migrations as people leave areas where food and water are scarce. They will also flee rising seas and areas devastated by the droughts, floods and severe storms that are also forecast consequences of climate change. Climate Change/Global Warming, Peak Oil, and even "Peak Water" now, the Baby Boomers/Pluto in Leos retiring, economic collapse and depression, etc. Any way you look at it, there are a lot of things set to come to a head during this run up to the Uranus-Pluto Square from 2012 to 2015, and the public is finally, finally starting to wake up and catch on to it all. They're not waking up happy, either. I don't fear the "elites" at all, because quite honestly, they are clueless and criminally inept in all of this. The very candidacy of George W. Bush should have made it evident to everyone that this sad bunch of self-serving so-called leaders is morally and ideologically bankrupt, and has been so for years. They are deathy afraid... of us. The "desensitization" towards violence, blurring of reality, Reality-TV, endless Britney Spears/Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton-overhyped-starlet-drama loop is all about distracting us from what is actually taking place in REALITY, and all of the lies and crimes they have perpetuated. They all know what they've done and what they've been a part of. They know the lies, the crimes and the score. The fact is, they don't want us to wake up, realize we've been had, get angry and come after them, because there are so many more of us than them, and revolution has happened before, and will happen again. When the American people rise up, our own elites will probably end up somewhere between a Second Nuremberg and a permanent "out of body" experience. Thoughts like this probably keep a certain man likened to a certain sith lord up at night, as well it should. In the meantime, and for the near term, we probably face more "police state" measures, i.e. surveillance cameras everywhere, ID cards, etc., which of course are merely just signs that the federal government is past its' shelf date. Pluto in Cap will make this ever more clear. And here I must ask, "what are we going to do about it?" Because giving up is just not an option in the face of times of great upheaval and change, we must do something. Each of us must, and I think all of us here want a better world. What are we going to do, individually and collectively to bring it into existence? The perfect storm is converging given the development of Blackwater, the signing statements, the stepped-up travel restrictions, escalating oil prices, crumbling infrastructures, and economic free fall. In fact i'm coming to believe that the coup already took sometime prior to or around the second installment of this current regime. We are now witnessing and are a part of the death of the dream. It is obvious, for example, that the support for Mukasey is a BIG FAT and LOUD signal that the constitution has no value anymore. And Luna, i live not to far from the small city or Orme. And yes, it is a bellweather signal. Atlanta -- with unchecked development -- may soon follow. The majority of the population has been disconnected from these growing realities. It compounds and adds to this perfect storm. I've no answers to "what do we do?" I've been conserving most all of my life, and i know most of you have as well. I've demonstrated, written, and railed against something that began long ago. I continue to meditate, send an energetic positivity to slice through this darkness. But the best of all is sharing laughter with friends, and family, coming here for all the commaraderie and knowing there are others who are fighting in their own way to make a difference. Posted by: Pat C on November 6, 2007 03:09 PMLooks like we'll have more to worry about than just water shortages in the future. The next challenge is a shortage of food. Guess everyone here has heard of CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder) where bees are abandoning their hives, and disappearing. Scientists are speculating that a single virus, or even several viruses may be responsible, and it is happening on a global scale. I was watching a program on PBS on Sunday. It seems most of our fruits, and vegetables can't be produced without the help of bees. I didn't realize that the bee played such an important part in our food production. Well, they showed this region in China that was famous for producing pears, but when the bees disappeared, there were no more pears, so thay had to employ thousands of humans to imitate the pollination process in order to produce pears. The only problem was that it took about 10X the amount of humans as it took bees to do the work, and it was a painstaking, and time-consuming process! So, if scientists don't find the cause, and remedy it soon, the world is going to be in big trouble. The bee problem has already shown up in England, Australia, Israel, America, and several other countries. They are thinking that they may have to breed our species of bees with African killer bees, which seem to be the only strain able to resist the viruses that attack the immune system of the bees. Scientists say the mysterious sickness is similar to AIDS in humans which destroys the immune system of the bees, and renders them helpless to fight off disease. If this country is now arguing with itself about whether torture is ok--well, that is just breathtaking isn't it? I can't figure if that is a dodge, keeping us busy while ripping us off, and then, once all that time and energy has been wasted, the joke will be on us because we will suffer waves of death as the planet becomes uninhabitable--while the uber wealthy will think they have found safety in remote places such as on top of that huge reservoir in Paraguay. Maybe we can delay it, but we can't escape it, as can be seen from ancient civilizations. It is a cycle as represented by the 3 gods or Trinity in the Hindu scriptures. Usually they are represented as the 3 points in an equilateral triangle - on the bottom left is Brahma(the Creator), at the top is Vishnu(the Preserver), and at the bottom right is Shiva (the Destroyer). Also, most Hindus believe that we are presently in the age of Kali Yuga, which heralds descent into darkness until final destruction. This is of course an oversimplification of it, but I will give 2 links where you can read more if you like, or if you search the internet, I'm sure there are several versions of both. It's strange how much the ancient Hindu religion and Catholicism have in common. OTHER surprising and ironical side effects from Dennis's courageous act WILL happen however. Count on irony. Posted by: patb on November 7, 2007 10:53 PMRIYADH, Nov 5 (KUNA) -- Saudi Interior Minister, Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, has confirmed the Kingdom's plan to build a security wall along the borders with Iraq. The Saudi Ministry received 14 applications from local and international firms to build the iron curtain-style security wall, Prince Naif said in statements Sunday night noting that the offers were being studied. Meanwhile, the Saudi Minister warned against any attempts for "sectarian divisions" in Iraq, a matter that would take a heavy toll not only on the country's stability but on the region as a whole. On a potential US strike against Iran, Prince Naif said he hoped such strike would not take place. http://www.kuna.net.kw/NewsAgenciesPublicSite/ArticleDetails.aspx?id=1854599&Language=en Posted by: Pat C on November 7, 2007 11:07 PMPatb, Thanks for looking at the transits for Dennis Kucinich. I have some very good news! This is an excerpt "from a letter sent to constituents today by Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, where the matter has been sent again. Wexler is calling for the committee "to schedule impeachment hearings immediately and not let this issue languish as it has over the last six months."... More from the letter The American people are served well with a legitimate and thorough impeachment inquiry. I will urge the Judiciary Committee to schedule impeachment hearings immediately and not let this issue languish as it has over the last six months. Only through hearings can we bring begin to correct the abuses of Dick Cheney and the Bush Administration; and, if it is determined in these hearings that Vice President Cheney has committed High Crimes and Misdemeanors, he should be impeached and removed from office. http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5263 Posted by: lunaoscura on November 7, 2007 11:28 PMI love Wexler!! Posted by: Pat C on November 7, 2007 11:42 PMWell hush my grits!- Pat Robertson endorses Rudy Giuliani Saying that he puts security ahead of "pro-life" criteria, (and presumably anti-gay rights), Robertson & Guli went public with a love fest at the podium. It wasn't pretty. Robertson reared up on his hind legs to bestow a slobbery kiss of endorsement onto the fawning Guliani. (Roberto and Guliette?)The rest of the evangelicals are surely "sitting and spinning" to quote Rosie O'Donnell. Wouldn't this be nice if this puts a harsh new spotlight on Robertson's many shady business investments including S. African "blood diamond mines. Now if we could just catch Robertson in an airport mensroom doing a "toe dance"........tra la la Swamp just love the way your mind works! Sure hope to see Rosie back with her own show. I'm also a Whoopie fan but cannot swallow The View even though I could watch it (I telecommute). I'm trying to find Current TV its supposed to be available in my area, but I can download any of it via Current.com love that site! It's the Larry Craig's Toe Tapping Dance. :-D Posted by: bhakti on November 8, 2007 12:53 AMYep gotta love thes "christians" (lack of capitalization on purpose). Interesting how their so- called "morals" take a back seat to their survival. Lunaoscura, thanks for posting the correct time for Dennis Kucinich, it has an AA rating from Lois Rodden BC/BR in hand. If you leave a big pile of money on your front porch, advertise that you've done that, and go to bed for the night, do you expect it to be there in the morning. Of course not. The security of the e-voting equipment is a joke. The Democrats had a chance to clean it up and they didn't. Look for serious questions about election fraud in the Democratic primaries, to HRC's benefit. The only way to avoid election fraud is the presence of a candidate who will call it. None of the current crew will do that. Edwards continues to tease and disappoint. He doesn't have "it." If Gore runs, he could stall it and stop it outright by a few intense statements. There was so much talk of fraud in 2006, the theft was free lance and not wholesale as in 2004. So, imho, it's Gore or a stolen election. Will Achilles emerge from his tent?
