ECCLESIASTES

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.

There is nothing men more readily give themselves to than pushing their own beliefs. When ordinary means fail, they add commandment, violence, fire and sword. (Michael Eyquem De Montaigne - French Philosopher 1533-1592)

Loyalty…is a realization that America was born of revolt, flourished in dissent, became great through experimentation. Our tradition is one of protest and revolt and it is stultifying to celebrate the rebels of the past…while we silence the rebels in the present. (Henry Steele Commager – 1902 and American Educator.

I don’t know about where you live, but there is a quiet here in the west. The trees are rustling with that wind that comes in the fall and can only move leaves in a way that says “change” is coming, even though the leaves haven’t started turning here. The day was warm, the sky bright blue, still the trees are rustling and children laughing and playing after dark, reluctant to leave one moment of summer behind.

Pluto and Venus have turned direct but are stationary, giving the world time to gather our breath from the last several months of floods, earthquakes, tornados, war, scandals, lies, corruption and everything else that goes on that list and here we are sandwiched between two eclipses. As the late Madeline L`Engle aptly named one of her books, we seem to be experiencing “A Wrinkle in Time,” and the energies around us are conducive to using them to find our own geometric Tesseract, over the next couple of days. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesseract

Pluto making the first of its final lap toward the end of Sagittarius and the first beginning of Capricorn, will seem explosive to us, here and in Iraq as Pluto will square the Sun of the war’s beginning, but that will not be the only explosion. Ecclesiastes tell us there is a “time to tear down and a time to build up.” We are still tearing down here, all the edifices in which we have placed our faith and while crumbling, they still haven’t completely fallen. This next 18 months will see a great deal fall, and still we won’t be finished with the tearing down. Look for all that has been hidden and repressed the last six months to come spilling, spilling, spilling out; the good, the bad and the ugly. Lately we have been treated to a steady stream of sex scandals and still the “hydra” has not been uncovered, still the worst of ourselves and the worst of our leaders continue to hang over Washington like a noxious gaseous fume.

Venus is now stationary direct at 16 degrees Leo return over the Saturn/Neptune opposition point. When it passes that point in the zodiac we will have a better idea how much truly serious trouble in which our financial institutions find themselves and by proxy, how much our personal financial stability has been affected. The government and banks are stealing us blind and have been for over 100 years while we just kept toiling for them; “a time to plant and a time to up-root” we’re being up-rooted. If you think we might be in bad shape, think of the people who thought they belonged to the party of the “haves and have mores.” Oh dear, to find out you are not is a really bitter blow, so much more so than those who never were in that category. Take GWB’s advice this month and do some disaster preparedness, I think that was as close a suggestion as we will get to a “head’s up.”

And now to the Eclipse; my hope is Morgana will write something about this eclipse but I am going to give my impressions as well.

This eclipse at 18 Virgo is a powerful and disturbing eclipse as it opposes Uranus and the Sun and Moon will pass a square to Mars within two days, Moon will be within two hours. Think of the properties of Virgo and the 6th house when looking at this eclipse. Virgo rules one’s work, the military, food and health. Anything from a serious virus could be unleashed, to an unsafe food supply, to martial law, to healings. Any and all of those things are possible and yes, probable over the next few months. The questions swirling around the safety of our food supply will be of utmost concern as well as a national health care policy. With Uranus opposing the eclipse point and Mars squaring, some aspect of the military will be front and center because of an explosive type of energy; that could be an earthquake, New Orleans type of hurricane again, a faux terrorists attack creating a need in the mind of this government and opening the door to complete dictatorship and martial law (let’s hope that’s not the case) The Mars/Uranus angle indicates some type of action is coming over the next several months. The eclipse in the 12th house indicates that whatever happens we won’t see it coming but the 12th house will give the potential of great healing advances or a better understanding (out of necessity) of natural healing practices.

This Eclipse is a big one for the world, not just the US, these energies hit all around the world. This eclipse series begin in July of 1917 and brought the Russian Revolution and the international Pandemic that caused so many deaths around the world. Scientists now believe it was a type of bird flu, and related to what we have floating around now. The period of time from 1912 and WWI, set the seeds sowing for WWII and today’s present “wars and rumors of wars,” we do not seem to learn much from history.

In this Eclipse chart Mars is once again on the US Mars and squares US Neptune, I have spoken of the Mars/Neptune square being set off by different planets many times so I won’t bore you by going into all that, but with transiting Mars there, it acts (for the US) in a manner of behaving as our own worst enemy and not seeing ourselves clearly; and of course an activation of the signature of the US since 2000, that signature would be – lying, corruption, lying, greed and more lying. It is true that there are always liars in the world particularly in politics, but it has absolutely been taken to an art form the last to 10 years.

You will read a great many dire predictions regarding this eclipse and some of those possibilities will unfold over the next six months however, I witnessed an amazing thing about a piece human nature this last week, from an 18 month old.

My son and his wife left for a six day vacation and I had charge of my 18th month old granddaughter. Having spent a few days on her other grandmother’s farm she returned terrified of bees and calls anything that buzzes including flies, bees. She screams and cries and runs for cover when flies are around, shrieking “bees, Mimi, bees.” No amount of reassurance that they are just flies will comfort her. Armed with my trusty fly swatter I set about getting rid of any fly that came into the house. With the last one gone and Hailey clinging to my leg and tears running down her face, trusting me to have ridded her of the “bees” that never existed except in her mind, I picked her up, dried her tears, calmed her shaking and assured her the “bees” were all gone. She said “don, ‘da’ bees don?” “Yes” I said with a big kiss. With that she wriggled out of my arms ran to the garage door, opened it wide and yelled “tum-in (come in) bees,” inviting her enemy back into the house. She was addicted to the game and the fear of the game.

I thought about the upcoming election and the sad pathetic roster of candidates of both parties, the politics as usual they all play and how much we moan and argue and shriek over what is happening in our government. How much fear we have, and yet we keep throwing open the door saying “tum-in bees,” when the “bees” don’t even exist, they are in reality flies. It makes me wonder if we “draw” what we fear to ourselves deliberately in order for our spirit to be able to conquer and overcome our deepest fears and is that what has been happening to humanity and continues to happen. We have a fear based government, why would that be unless we ourselves collectively are fear based.

There are so many possibilities surrounding this eclipse, some of those possibilities in their worst expression, could be terrifying in their application, our food and medical supply, not to mention toys have already been corrupted. The war in Iraq is already going with a lot of energy surrounding the threat of expanding that war to include other countries, the North American Union Treaty (NAU) has been signed. We know we have a government with a tendency to act out the worst of the energy creating “bees” out of “flies,” but there are other possibilities of great healing information, planting our own gardens even if it’s in pots, a start on cleaning up the environment, doing what we can to swat the “bees’ away, most importantly making sure we are not reacting to just “flies” with terror and when we do react, do so with the mind set that they are just “flies;” even if they come back, we can rid ourselves of them.

On the anniversary of 9/11 it’s a good exercise to review what the Saturn/Pluto opposition wrought upon the US and the rest of the world. The meaning of a Saturn/Pluto opposition is transformation, a change of what went before and what won’t work again, no matter how hard we try to make things the same. We know what that means in our individual life, but what about a country or a world? What did go before the Saturn/Pluto opposition in this country, this world? Let’s name some of them; war as a way to make money and clear out the excess population of a country or several countries. We had a belief that the FDA in this country worked or was working to its capacity, that we had the best medical care in the world (we did have the best equipment, not care) that our politicians were basically working on our behalf, that our financial institutions and investments were safe for the most part, and that our infrastructure was fundamentally strong and working and that our corporations couldn’t survive without American talent and skill plus the US consumer and for that we would be well paid and rewarded. We also thought our religion (even if we didn’t go to church) or our faith (based on Judeo/Christian belief, was good and right, with righteous leaders, certainly not rife with perverts and pedophiles and disbelievers themselves. We believed our churches, corporations and government would tell us what to do and give right counsel in the end. We sure didn’t think we were out here on our own, fending for ourselves with no one but our families and friends to help.

The above should be enough to get you started on your own list of what we thought we had before, and when you finish your own list take a good look at it because no matter how hard we try, it isn’t going to work anymore, all those edifices are falling, tumbling, crumbling and we think it’s us, it isn’t, unless we’ve placed our power in one of those institutions and beliefs, if we have, we will be forced to take it back; to trust ourselves and neighbors, to find other processes to define success, because it is changing. The concept of a New World Order came before the Saturn/Pluto opposition, multi-nationals ruling the world came before Saturn/Pluto, and the idea of sovereign nations came before as well as the belief that on earth we actually own anything. We believed we could go to church and “teach religion” not what spirituality actually means to us personally or what religion really teaches. We are being forced to dig into what our governments mean and what are they doing and what do we want. Oh the digging, digging, the irritating task of doing the work because the yahoos we elected are liars, thieves and incompetent.

I have always loved the saying “let the dead bury the dead” I never knew why I liked it, maybe because I am a Scorpio and realize that only the dead can truly appreciate the dead or what it is to die. That which is behind us is dead. All those institutions as they have been functioning are dead, and those who continue to hang on to the way it all was, are dead too, they just don’t know it as yet. The only thing we have to salvage now is the best of what we believed we had and the belief everyone could have it as well, we can make that happen.

In the years I worked with the poor and homeless I could see that the flaws in the system hit them first and then it goes up the ladder. An example would be loss of jobs, money, drugs and alcohol problems in families. Through the years we saw the problems rise toward the middle class and then the upper class and the cracks in the foundation started showing everywhere, the cracks are beginning to widen and will encompass all.

It’s a new day what do we want it to look like?

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

I am, as always, in awe of how you can tie so many things together so neatly, so comprehensively and truthfully. Cap'n Sally, you are just something else and with each new article seems to surpass the last one. Wow!

And there is some more good news, too, rolling out of the Halls of Science:

Thank you Sally for this. Interesting times.

Here is a good article from Frank Rich

Whew, there's a lot to ponder here Sally! I will have to read it through several times to fully digest it.
As for my Tesseract; I am sitting here watching Extreme Makeover on TV ( they're doing a 9/11 hero of course....) seeing the very same buses, RV's, trailors that went past my house at 8:30 am. this morning. Did I get that meaning right?
While 200, 300 people are down the road to do this rebuild............this old lady was out front with a sabre saw, nails etc. fastening my gallery sign to the posts and digging holes to put it up!
I went to the market for a few things and encountered a veritable hornets nest of resentment and anger around the cash register..... ( it was supper time pouring rain and not many shoppers) It seems that most of the workers are volunteering their time; NOT being paid! This in a community that just went on strike for a week because of the low wholesale price of lobsters $3.50 per lb. lowest since the 60's! AND in the 4th poorest county in the USA! They have brought their own independant community of trailors, caterers, even their own psycologists in case the boy with autism freaks with the commotion, but no income for the local businesses. They are paying rent for the lot they are using,; BUT he is a summer person with a sailboat!
There is a popular young woman whose house just burned down and she and the kids are living with her parents! They had a yard sale in the town hall Sat. to help raise funds to rebuild!
SO the plot unfolds...and the eclipse is Tues.!
In summary....Brittany's ( the lucky homeowner) Grandmother was rushed to the hospital Friday and had to have a pacemaker installed. She told one of the nurses the her Grandaughter was having an Extreme TAKEOVER! I think she hit the nail on the head!
Milbridge: legislature's approval for incorporation July 14, 1848, time unknown..... .first town meeting August 21, 1848 probably 7pm.
The local ABC station is covering the event every evening this week!
The Historical Society designates July 14 as the birthday........

Great article Shy, I see that "liberals were wrong fewer times" loved that one.

You are right Pat C, Frank Rich's article is a great article and another one that needs to be reread.

Pat QOP sorry there is so much but the fact is, there is so much we need to see and understand over the coming months, and this is only the half of what's going on. It was probably a too convoluted article, sorry.

Your township isn't under this eclipse but transiting Mars is coming to form a T-Square with the Moon/Saturn and North Node, I expect the next week or two will have the feel of being contentious with a lot of irritable people, keep your "powder dry."

Posted by: Sally on September 10, 2007 02:22 AM

Wow QOP we had a movie film crew here this last Spring, thriller thing, they used a house next to mine separated by a couple of lots. Anyway, the actors crew mingled with the locals, and paid all of us $300.00 for the noise, inconvenience, parking, they put their trailer in a cul de sac. Met the producer, missed John Laroquette (sp?), but it was great fun. What a difference between a National Media outlet and independent film folks. These guys contributed to our local economy and color, ate locally. Hope you get some good business out of this!!!

Sally, wow very very thought provoking. I'll put something up later in the week and wrap the coming Autumnal Equinox into it.

Fear, challenging it to overcome it and grow. I used to have issues driving on mountain roads, steep grades with sheer drop offs on both sides, to the point I'd hyper ventilate. I got a job as an print ad sales person and my area required me to drive, daily, over a horrendously steep grade that was constantly under construction. After six months of it, I could drive it like a Mad Hatter, each day the fear lessened. I think we challenge fear to grow, fear causes us to stagnate.

Really really interesting article thank you Sally!

Posted by: Morgana on September 10, 2007 05:55 AM

Good grief Morgana, reading about your drive over those roads made MY palms sweat. That's a lot of "face down of fear" for sure. Can hardly wait for your article. It is deathly quiet here, and I saw some posts on DU stating the same thing in different parts of the country. There is an eerie stillness around.

Speaking of Virgo representing the military in a flat chart, and we have been looking for just one real leader with courage, Admiral William J. Fallon might be it, I would say it's questionable how long he will have his commission but he is standing up as long as he does have it.

Dear Sally,
I have been a lurker on your wonderful site since around 2000. Thank you so much for your time and energy ~Your articles have been of great comfort to me during these severe times.
I have always enjoyed the comments and articles~ Like most posters on the site I am weary of Bush and his evil cabal. Now, I am attempting (as hard as it maybe) to look to the future and with a very small amount of hope to the next “Democratic President”
I know so much damage has been done that no one man or woman alone can heal our nation and the damage to the world that we as a nation have allowed to be done in our name . . . . But I do feel that if the right person is elected then we might have a chance to start that long and hard healing journey that could begin with just one right step forward.
Please correct me if I am wrong ~ but I tend to remember that you pointed out at some point that Hillary Clintons chart shows difficulty and that it is likely she would not complete her primary run for the presidency? I am not a big HC fan and would rest better if the conventional wisdom about her certain nomination were just hype. Of course she would be better by far than what is squatting in the White House at the moment, but I believe someone else could serve better and she would do more good by staying in the senate. To think that the “Clinton Circus” would come to town again sure doesn’t appeal to me after eight years of Bush ~ Is it possible to comment on Hillary’s chart? And what it holds~
Thank You

New article! SATURN IN VIRGO

New Moon in Virgo

Partial Solar Eclipse

I can't think of a better day for the New Moon in Virgo with a partial solar eclipse—a time to consider one's responsibility to serve, heal, and educate others—than September 11; a day which calls up so much pain and sorrow to so many around the world. I am not just speaking of the WTC tragedy, but all the tragedies that have ensued since that day stemming primarily from the decisions of a few ignorant, but powerful men—acting from fear, hate, and greed—at a time when the world needed the leaders of America to act with caution, wisdom, faith, and compassion. And this year Saturn in Virgo will add a greater sense of heaviness, disgust, and exhaustion to this already heavyhearted day. Yes, my new article on Saturn in Virgo is posted.

Add to Saturn in Virgo a grand square of immense proportion: Moon/Sun in Virgo opposing Uranus in Pisces and both squaring the Mars in Gemini, Pluto in Sagittarius opposition. I have to admit, it makes me tired to think of the implications of this grand square because I have so little faith that anyone in power in this country will tell the truth, apologize for their mistakes, or try to right a situation gone so wrong. It will probably be a day of major spin and no progress.

Wow, Sally. And Morgana! Thank YOU!

Been keeping up, but unable to post. . .computer crash, BIG ol' first birthday party for grandson with fourteen of us in the house. Except for a day or two for "quiet" time, i would do that anytime, and in a heartbeat. Lots of different energies mostly blending and bending.

There IS a quiet before the storm. Here in the mountains of Tennessee, the drought has exaccerbated the quiet. Crunch of leaves underfoot echo in the air. Anticipation is heightened, the need to be on alert. (I identified with your grit-your-teeth and do the drive, Morgana!)

Keep us posted, QOP.

There is usualy is very dead energy at this time of the year. Everyone goes away, it was felt in NYC too.
It spelled relief to me, nothing fearful. I just use that energy to get more work done without outside pressures of phones and office emails. I use the energy to clear away the debris from the last blast of high energy and clear the decks for the new energy.

BTW, the progressives are imploding too. I have discovered one blog puts down another blog. Then yet another new blog puts down both of those progressive blogs. I've learned to not listen to too many opinions and to trust my inner guidance even more. Alot of op-ining out there but not enough brain cells. Psssssssst, think it's done on purpose.
To de-sensitize the readers. Alot of BS artists out there who are not real journalists, even citizen journalists, who do not do clear and thourough research before mouthing off. So if one claims to re- post without reading and researching and then makes excuses for it as being helpful, you are also part of the problem, not the solution for the de-sensitizing of the public. Think about it, it defeats the purpose of getting to the truth of things when posting propaganda or personal agendas.

The hate mail thing to the lucky winner in Maine is so human nature. I often never get any kudos for the wonderful things happening in my work life from colleagues when i tell them or send out my email updates, they just want a piece of the action for no effort. I just learned they are not my real friends, just opportunists who cirlcle a hopeful carcass.

I guess I didn't state the case clearly; I too have had peole want to share the glory by proxy from my very hard dedicated work.
But some members of this family, are the equivalent of Bush, arrogant & full of hubris! They have profited from others! I don't know the lucky lady at all though her brother was an art student of mine for 3 years and he is nice; if burdoned with problems, her parents are nice............but bottom line she is a 2nd gen trust fund baby!
I'm just the objective observer here!

Sally, it really is time to pay the Piper isn't it? First it was the poor and the Sub Prime loans, now it's the mcmansions that are being foreclosed.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20546324/site/newsweek/

The New Money Pit
It started with subprime mortgages. Now owners of McMansions are defaulting, and the effects of the housing bust are beginning to ripple through the economy.

[snip]
"...what started with the subprime-mortgage mess and subsequent credit crunch are turning communities like Black Mountain Vista into luxury ghost towns. Buyers who got in over their heads are being forced to abandon their homes, leaving behind empty McMansions on the California coast and see-through condominium towers on Miami Beach. Real estate is turning into a money pit, sapping the fortunes of home buyers, hedge-fund managers and house painters alike. The really bad news? This is only the beginning.

No sooner did the housing market peak last summer than pundits and home builders assured the public the bottom had been reached. But with each passing month, the shoes continue to drop. First, dozens of subprime lenders were forced to close their doors. Then in July the nation's largest mortgage lender, Countrywide Financial, reported that mortgages held by borrowers with better credit were starting to curdle. Nearly 180,000 homes fell into foreclosure in July, up 93 percent from a year ago. Last week President George W. Bush offered a series of proposals designed to ward off a flood of foreclosures. Sales of new single-family homes were off 22.3 percent in June from a year earlier, and sales of existing homes—a much bigger market—were off 9 percent in July. The National Association of Realtors reports there's enough housing inventory for sale to last 9.6 months, more than double the 2005 level. The Case-Shiller index, which tracks national housing prices, fell 3.2 percent between June 2006 and June 2007. While that's a relatively small drop, "this is the largest sustained decline in year-over-year prices since 1991," says Yale economist Robert Shiller."

Dharma is about sending good wishes and welcoming for those who do well and to those who are not so well off. It is very human to have the darkside thoughts, acting on them is very different. Hate mail is saying more about the negativity of the haters, not about the ones having the good luck. Regardless of the outer circumstances we have no idea what the karma is about nor the right to interfere. There are so many people like that in my neighborhood, I had a lightening flash revelation recently. I saw the recently separated woman and still married man neighbors together. After that I realized all their money and property and fancy lifestyles were not enough to fufill them. I saw how empty life must be to get kicks f'ing up their kids and family. After that, if anyone puts their bushwazie attiitude in my face, like these neighbors have done in the past, watch out. Why need I feel lower, they are not better than me. Just some unfufilled humans in bodies, only with more money, period. Money is energy to navigate Earth easily.

Sally, your articles always just ring big bells for me...must be MY Scorpio rising. Your granddaughter sounds just adorable, also.

This might have been posted back in some other time over the last few years, but this video was shown on CSPAN Saturday night (and I bring it up, because it has been suppressed here, but not in the rest of the world, and you have said that more things would be revealed). It is about the janitor in the WTC who saved hundreds of people, Willie Rodgriguez. He recounts his story in his presentation. CSPAN had it in their American Perspectives segment from 9-10 pm. Right after that, they had Ghouliani on talking about HIS experience in 9/11, along with the former mayor of OK City. I didn't watch that part.

Here is the video of Willie from last year, 2006. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4380137365762802294

The one on CSPAN was from Aug 17, 2007 in LA, introduced by Ed Asner. That you will have to find yourself...check CSPAN.

He speaks in an electrifying manner, riveting...and he said, he relives it every time he tells it. It is the first real evidence (to my thinking) of those explosions which went off before the planes hit.

Even though I'm open minded about the WTC being LIHOP or MIHOP, the question of the explosions in the Towers could be something like the fires causing the electrical conduits plastic coating to burn and live wires touching each other creating surges in all kinds of office equipment or kitchen appliances. The controlled demolitions aren't explosions that happen every once in a while. They are timed and always go off at the simultaneously on each floor, creating the implosion effect.

It would be natural to have things exploding as rubble from the upper floors fell on them. Especially since it was a working day with all the equipment on.

Mexican pipeline bombings heighten energy disruption fears

WASHINGTON — Bombers attacked at least six oil and natural gas pipelines in Mexico's southeastern state of Veracruz overnight on Monday, sparking concern that the energy sector of the second largest supplier of oil to the United States may be increasingly vulnerable to attacks from a fledgling Marxist rebel movement.

The bombings, the second such series in as many months, happened at opposite ends of the oil-rich state, suggesting that the assailants had the capability to strike multiple targets at will.

When I took my college courses, we covered arson, and they talked about accellerants: alcohol, propellant, et cetera. There would have been dozens of bottles of alcohol all over the building from the restaurants and stores, to stashed bottles in desks, to private stashes for the executive staff. There would have been thousands of spray cans. There would have been gas pipes going to the grills and water heaters. There would have been bottles of gasoline and kerosene for the maintenance equipment. The electrical wires would have been live and sparking and catching every piece of paper-and an office building has hundreds of tons of paper, wood, cloth. Even without jet fuel, that would have been quite a fire. And jet fuel is kerosene, another accellerant.

The war against terror is over: We lost
Created 09/10/2007 - 9:14am

Tuesday’s sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, will unfortunately turn into a glut of self-serving reasons to use the tragic events for political, philosophical or personal advantage.

Candidates for President will talk endlessly about how they could have better handled the events that cost more than 3,000 Americans their lives on that devastating day.

Conservatives will claim the attacks prove we must never, ever, let up on the so-called “war on terror” while liberals will say the war on terror is overblown and we need to remember but not dwell on 9/11.

Conspiracy theorists will trot out their tired claims of government involvement in the attacks, some even claiming the Bush Administration planned the whole thing to justify war in the Middle East.

But lunoscura and carol;
The explosions in the basement ot the WTT, were heard BEFORE the first plane hit! according to William Rodreguiz! ( the janitor)How could burning jet fuel ignite accellerants; before it was THERE?
He is one very brave man to speak out!
I haven't seen the cspan film, my TV is off, but I have heard this discussed ( in the context of a panel discussion involving Bruce Fein, the conservative lawyer, as I recall, ) and read it several places over the last year or more!

New Moon in Virgo

" Add to Saturn in Virgo a grand square of immense proportion: Moon/Sun in Virgo opposing Uranus in Pisces and both squaring the Mars in Gemini, Pluto in Sagittarius opposition. . . ."

"So, how can you best use this grand square? Try this on for size: committing to heal and serve others to the best of your ability (Sun/Moon in Virgo,) question, analyze and shake out your old beliefs (Pluto in Sagittarius,) act with an openness and intelligence sourced in non-judgmental curiosity (Mars in Gemini,) and revolutionize your life by breaking the illusion of separation and committing fully to love all beings (Uranus in Pisces.) Look at your body, your mind, your heart: where is your pain? How much compassion and love are you willing to bring to bear upon that pain? How much can you extend that compassion and love out to the ones you most care about and then to the ones you least care for? Imagine everyone having the courage to do this? What a profound change we would see in our world."

QOP, Just to clarify, I was referring to the doubts I have about the many times I've seen and heard people claim there were explosions as the towers came down. But there are many more things that I also have questions about that lead me to think we're being lied to about what happened. I am not dismissing any theories that Bush/Cheney are being deeply and criminally involved in the destruction out of hand. As a matter of fact I believe it was either LIHOP or MIHOP. Just the fact that they obstructed every attempt to investigate what happened shows they're hiding something.

Hello Sally and all, Nameste'

Quoting today from "The Fifth Discipline-The Art and Practice of The Learning Organization" by Peter Senge

pg 21 "All too often "proactiveness" is reactiveness in disguise. If we simply become more aggressive fighting the "enemy out there." we are reacting-regardless of what we call it. True proactiveness comes from seeing how we contribute to our own problems. It is a product of our way of thinking, not our emotional state."

to that I will add, thoughts lead to emotion. "The unexamined life is not worth living." Socrates

We are experiencing a systemic breakdown, as Salley points out; from which, hopefully, we will experience a breakthrough. More from Peter Senge, pg 22:

"Generative learning cannot be sustained in an organization if people's thinking is dominated by short-term events. If we focus on events, the best we can do is predict an event before it happens so we can react optimally. But we cannot learn to create."

Let us say, already, systemically, one brick is not left atop another. What do we want to do with the bricks lying around? What economic, ecologic, humanistic, governmental, (add your own to this list) systems are sustainable? How do we grow that model, or do we grow a number of different small models, confessing we don't yet know what is best?
There are too many accidents now robbing our attention. It is time to get ahead of this dog-leg curve.

For fortification I add this snippet from Walt Whitman's "Song of the Open Road" I urge you to read it aloud with GUSTO!

"
Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose.
Henceforth I ask not good-fortune, I myself am good-fortune,
Henceforth I whimper no more, postpone no more, need nothing,
Done with indoor complaints, libraries, querulous criticisms,
Strong and content I travel the open road....."

"I myself am good-fortune" as are you, Timmy J

Not going to leave you without some new tools!

Peter Senge pg 95

"It is not even enough to see a particular structure underlying a particular problem....This can lead to solving a problem, but it will not change the thinking that produced the problem in the first place. For learning organizations, only when managers start thinking in terms of the systems archetypes, does systems thinking become an active daily agent, continually revealing how we CREATE OUR REALITY." The two 911 commerative laser beams of light made an arc over my building each evening this past week; cannot see their tops. I see them out of my window as I type this to all of you. So glad this day is over and grateful for some heavy rain today to keep the tourists away. My heart goes out to the civilian victim's families, but as a NYer who witnessed it all live and in person I need to say, please world, move on. Here in NYC the new focus is on the health damages to the first responders, as it needs to be. They are the canaries in the coalmine. Who knows, the winds blew over the East River to my neighborhood this day 6 years ago, who knows. Like the arc of lights over my rooftop, the 911 dust reached here too. For me it's not a drama or a fascinating movie, it was real. The tourist fascination and fixation on death and now even more death is not healthy. As a native NYCite when I see the tourists getting off the train at Fulton St to see the hole in the ground, I think they are insane.

To a child in the early 50's it was only a part of the general nuclear terror/fear unleashed by Truman's use of the bomb. As an adult looking back, I am wondering if there have been any studies done to see of the incidents of cancer are up in the areas where these events happened.
And I think a large part of our problem today is......way over 50% of the population has NO CLUE, Boomers were scared by "duck & cover: in schools: That's intellectual rather than "visceral" and their children didn't even have that to fear! I wish to blow this BIG MYTH that the capitalism western countries practice is better than socialism etc. If socialism has thousands of holes
the capitalism in mode is thousands minus one hole
For example, stock market is a complete bogus econ
and bull markets are just that - BS and bull. In
100 year Dow jones, every so called bull period is
a TOTAL SCAM period. 1929 bull was full of scams and it crashed. 1930 to 1980 stock market may be rose an average of 3% max. 1980 to 87 bull was
scams like junk bonds, S&L scams, cos. cooking up books and showing profits that didn't exist and it crashed. 1995 to 2000 bull was full of scams from internet, ENRON like cos cooking up books having no profits in reality, mergers hyped up, which were all disasters like chryler merger and
thousands others. 2002 to 2007 bull was full of scams such as sub prime rip offs and other rip offs, speculation on real estate etc. So every bull was just that bull, no real healthy economics
involved. This is heading for a crash too. So this
whole cappy is full of holes nothing to brag about.

John Dean (of Watergate fame) has written a new book, Broken Government. He asked an old friend, a long-time Republican, if he could quote him in wrapping up the final paragraph of the book. The old friend declined to be identified, but did warn Americans about Republicans--strongly. Here's a taste of what he said. Tand more at the link:
The government is truly broken, particularly in dealing with national security, and another four years, and heaven forbid not eight years, under the Republicans, and our grandchildren will have to build a new government, because the one we have will be unrecognizable and unworkable."

The FED just took a broadside. There is an old global opinion that when gold rises the dollar is weakening. This opinion is so important to dollar strength, some think the FED conspires to keep the price of gold down by facilitating the leasing of it at very low rates (1%) to other bankers who sell it, thereby lowering the price, and reinvest the money elsewhere. This is known as the gold carry trade for those of you familiar with the yen carry trade. Well the jig is up and I think this will signal a dramatic rise in the US dollar price of gold going forward. Not giving financial advice mind you. Astrologically we've been expecting the FED to take a hit, and this is definitely a hit. http://online.barrons.com/article/SB118954417476624138.html?mod=9_0033_b_markets_main_collection

I rather liked the MoveOn ad from the Times. It was crass, but these are crass times. It was simplistic, but these are simplistic problems, basic ones -- after all -- the American people have been treated as foolish consumers of a product -- in this case a war -- by an administration that hovers in a bipolar helix between hapless fervor and rank cynicism. Depending on the day. I wrote MoveOn a check, like a lot of people did -- back when we were going to war in Iraq -- for the first ads. There should have been ads and protests and actions every single day from then on.

Comment
And I liked the ad a lot more than the posturing of the senators who decried it -- amongst them at least one psychosexual hysteric with a jones for hookers. But hey, this is the circus, this is a Golgotha, and if the Barbarians are at the gates -- at least they're putting on a show. Some time ago a mogul told me he thought the six month test Bush proposed was 'fair and dead on'. This is a man who controls and has made billions of dollars and is hipper than anyone in the room, and smarter too. So what can you say? Now let's face it. We're in Iraq for the next decade. We are in Iraq for the next decade. At least. No way out. This is how America crumbles; at the hands of the most misguided ideologues since the Crusades. Men who led America to catastrophe, who betrayed all the promise we had left -- and for what? The naive and arrogant expectation that a grateful culture would be democratized magically, instantly, and with no ambivalence. I often think that Mr. Rove would not have lasted two rounds with the boys at CAA or any decent studio head -- they'd have swallowed him and his woozy hucksterism with a glass of water -- if only he'd been a schlepper out of Burbank, instead of our very own minor-league Talleyrand. Mr. Draper in an interview regarding his book on Bush says that the fatal flaw in this most likable of men, is a kind of frightened, defensive lack of curiosity. That seems right. In the Atlantic Monthly, one of the ex-speech writers for the administration turns on one of his own with the ferocity of a cartoon pirate turning on another pirate after the treasure is all gone. This is how it goes down, folks. They're not conservatives. They're not even Republicans. They are de-regulating cynics who pray that capitalism works like the glorious God-Powered Rube Goldberg machine it is. Just add self-reliance and a few days in Aspen. This crowd? They make one long for the intellectual rigor of a Nixon, and they don't deserve to even speak the name Goldwater. I liked the MoveOn ad, because it was probably true, in the Freudian sense, even if it is a little shrill. We have been betrayed. "Weapons of mass destruction" was always a guess -- and a wrong guess that calcified into a frightened and incurious dogma (the reasons for the war have changed), is going to do us in.

We Train Terrorists

Charley Reese

Who receives the best terrorist training in the world? It's not al-Qaida operatives or anybody else associated with Middle East organizations that the U.S. is pleased to label "terrorist." No, the best terrorist training in the world is provided by the U.S. military.

Everything that is taught in some squalid terrorist camp and much more is taught right here in the USA. What do you think Special Forces, Delta Force, the Air Commandos, Marine Recon and the Navy Seals learn? They learn how to kill people and blow things up, how to practice escape and evasion, how to interrogate prisoners and to endure interrogation. Every skill a terrorist needs is thoroughly taught by our own military.

US confirms Israeli air strike on Syria

By Tim Butcher in Tel Aviv
Last Updated: 2:26am BST 12/09/2007

A US official has confirmed that Israeli warplanes carried out an air strike "deep inside" Syria, escalating tensions between the two countries.

Israel considers retaliation in Gaza
The target of the strike last Thursday remained unclear but Israeli media reported that a shipment of Iranian arms crossing Syria for use by the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia in Lebanon was attacked.

Israeli army Merkeva tanks on the Golan Heights
Syria first reported the incident on the day, saying its air defences had engaged five Israeli planes, but did not say what their target was. Israel remained uncharacteristically silent, pointedly refusing to deny that its warplanes were involved in an operation. The closest it came to acknowledging the affair happened was when it made an undertaking to Turkey to investigate how an Israeli long-range fuel tank was dropped on Turkish territory near the Syrian border.

Thanks for asking about the twins Carol, I didn't want to bore anyone. They are doing very well in fact, about a month behind in their development, however they are preemies first of all and Gemini's second of all. Gemini's age slowly. But they smile and I am amused that they jabber (baby noises) all the time, especially the boy (Braden) Cassidy (the girl) is very watchful of everything and doesn't cry as much as her brother but does mimic his cry when she does. Braden is very demanding and Cassidy is the more quiet and calm baby. But they are growing and gaining weight and have started the process of fighting their way into the "circle of life."

Bhakti, no one likes for negatives to be swirling out there about themselves however no one can please everyone all the time. Anyone that is making an assessment of information (such as astrology, statistics, policies, what the Bible says etc.) opens themselves to criticism because no one knows everything, because of that it's ridiculous to be offended when others criticize. There are folks who don't care for the partisian tone of this website made worse because I do open it to comments and I do shut down arguments because in the past some of them have become very hostile. So if there is a website out there with another view and they don't like me, I am sure they will have lots of company and their website should flourish. After all, Rush Limbaugh has flourished by attacking others, lots of people have, I think we love the attack and hey, as long as they spell my name correctly

Great news regarding the twins, Sally. I'm glad to see they are doing fine and are mentally alert. Hearing about kids is never boring to me. I don't have any so I enjoy hearing about other's. Do they both have different rising signs? or just different planets to the angles?

One of the interesting things about astrology is twins. A lot of times they differ even when they have close times of birth. Personally I think it's due to slightly different times of actual conception or different soul charts.

BTW, which sign actually has the most twins overall?

Posted by: Carol on September 13, 2007 06:54 PM

The mutable signs have the most multiple births, with Gemini's leading the pack of multiples. They are not identical and although they were born two minutes apart they would still have a different time of conception, even up to three days difference. They have a Libra asc. and absolutely no earth in their charts (their parents have a lot of earth) I haven't any earth in my chart but lots of earth with my children, I learned some interesting lessons through them and I expect my daughter (a Taurus with a Sagittarius asc. and son-in-law (a Virgo) will get to experience the same type of lessons (I let myself enjoy a private chuckle over this) My youngest son, a Scorpio Sun in a mutable house (9th) and his Pisces wife are also expecting twins after the first of the year. I was a twin (my mother a Sagittarius) but one twin didn't make it to even the 4 month mark.

I think this is a very important site. That's one very good reason it is the topic of conversation. I'm grateful for it and all the time you've given it Sally. These are historic and pivotal times.

My old Irish grandmother use to say "Never discuss Politics, Religion, or Sex in polite company because you are bound to offend someone.". She was a Scorpio, so you can imagine she did not take her own advise, and she was wonderful in all her edgy ways.

And yes, the internet can get really weird. Gossips have a much bigger stage, but so do the more sane people.

And Carol thanks for your comments about the twins, I am still chuckling that their parents just loaded with earth signs have children without any, oh the things they will learn from one another. Sally, so glad to read the news of the twins. Thanks for the update. I for one would never be bored by news of their development since there was so much drama with their entrance.
I loved the MoveOn ad and the rudeness of it. I have never trusted the advice to be polite. We need passion. Look where our moderate responce has gotten us.
The military leader of our destruction of Iraq does not deserve to be revered
I mean what is polite in the Bush administrations rape and murder of Iraq and the plans to take Iran next?
We should be polite to Dennis Kucinich and work to get his ideas out to be heard.

Dear Sally,

"I have no earth in my chart" you said. So interesting--neither did my dear Libra mother-in-law. And have noticed since that persons with no planets in earth signs never own houses unless they inherit them. Would appreciate any comments.

BTW, although my mother-in-law was not grounded, she was beautifully balanced--not a house built upon a rock, but a ship yar upon the waters.

Posted by: Barbara on September 14, 2007 01:29 AM

That's been my experience with no earth, they also have a problem with money being a motivating factor in their lives. Oh they want to be financially stable, but they either need to inherit money and/or property or have someone else supply it (if they are to gain wealth) These are people whose "riches" truly are in the universe. I love the "ship yar upon the waters" line, I will take it and hold it close for the warmth and comfort those words provide. The other thing about no earth people, they help earth people actualize their talents.

Posted by: Sally on September 14, 2007 01:55 AM

Sally, Barbara, yup I've seen the same thing with folks who have no earth. Interesting that, if I recall Hitler had no water.

Posted by: Morgana on September 14, 2007 02:16 AM

Dear Sally, what a lovely response.

As someone with planets in all the earth signs, I can attest that indeed my mother-in-law did help me actualize my talents.

Off topic a bit, have also noticed that people with no planets in air signs have difficulty experiencing objectivity.

Morgana, wow, that is interesting! You may already be aware of the wonderful Swiss psychiatrist Alice Miller, who is a specialist re child abuse. I never thought I would feel sorry for Hitler, but the French proverb, "To know all is to forgive all" or at least, "to know all is to understand all," is indeed true.

Powell Warns About a U.S. "Terror Industrial Complex"

Bush Extends 2001 National Emergency Declaration For One Year --Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to Certain Terrorist Attacks (whitehouse.gov) 12 Sep 2007 Consistent with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency I declared on September 14, 2001, in Proclamation 7463, with respect to the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, New York, New York, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines flight 93, and the continuing and immediate threat of further attacks on the United States. Because the terrorist threat continues, the national emergency declared on September 14, 2001, last extended on September 5, 2006, and the powers and authorities adopted to deal with that emergency, must continue in effect beyond September 14, 2007. Therefore, I am continuing in effect for an additional year the national emergency I declared on September 14, 2001, with respect to the terrorist threat.

But then there is this!
Fallon told Petraeus that he considered him to be "an ass-kissing little chickenshit" and added, "I hate people like that", the sources say. That remark reportedly came after Petraeus began the meeting by making remarks that Fallon interpreted as trying to ingratiate himself with a superior.

And we are making progress here in Maine. After at least 2 of us; ( in different communities,) during his recess, community breakfasts, handed Mike Michaud a printed out article about Impeachment by Dave Lindorff, he went out and bought Lindorff's book, The Case For Impeachment"!
Maine Impe

Meanwhile the Exreme House Makeover is the biggest scam going......... Yay, ABC/Disney! Tom Sawyer X 10!
All the building materials, food ( catered), workers, are volunteer! Downtown is virtually deserted, no local buisinesses benefiting! AND they haven't even made the house solar passive!
Funny..the builders of my log cabin in Jersey knew to do that and did it well; back in the 40's!
Regressive Repugs!
On the twins,,, having been a Taurus Mother with 2 Libra rising kids...............tell your daughter to batten down the hatches. As teens they will come in multiples! I only had 2 kids, but they were never fewer than 4 in those years! ( They did vote me Mother of the year, the darlings, because I cooked good stuff and didn't nag them!
Please do keep us updated on them, as well as the bee stalker, it's nice to hear about children in these difficult times!
And lacking air in my chart except for the Gemini rising, I always seemed to have a Libra friend, that I could sound out ideas with!

Was a Covert Attempt to Bomb Iran with Nuclear Weapons foiled by a Military Leak?

Posted by: Stan on September 14, 2007 04:36 AM

Thank you Pat C for the time, I cannot watch him so I didn't. However thanks to you, I have the chart. The Moon was conjunct his Jupiter so he felt good about the delivery of the speech will get a bounce from his base plus protection from the GOP, both his Jupiter and transiting Moon was in a trine to Neptune, no one knew or understood what the heck he said, all glossed over in a fog but because of that people will like the way he said whatever he said.

Transiting Mercury squared his natal Sun and the natal Sun of the US adding to the confusion. Moon and Mercury fell into the 6th house of the military, it will be a few weeks before they sort this out. The difficult aspects of Mercury and the 6th house involvement are important in this chart because the Sun at 20 Virgo has just passed by minutes GWB's North Node at 20 Gemini, both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury, the messenger. I kind of wish I had the stomach to have watched this speech because he revealed something unintended and they are sweating now whether the public caught it or not. This aspect has been in effect all day so it's hard to know what slipped out unintentionally but something did, Mercury told us something today.

Transiting Mars moving toward an opposition to tonight's Pluto in the 8th house means massive more deaths, that's for sure. Venus rules the Ascendant and the US 6th House, again the military, the transiting planet Venus is opposing Neptune; translated that means lies, obfuscation, spin, spin spin all this week. They have been leading up to this all along and frankly it went well for them or at least they will think it did.
However, just as that Venus/Neptune opposition clouds everything for the US, it clouds everything for them, I don't think they can implement in the manner they believe.

My little "bee chaser" is an Aquarius with Sun conj. Mercury in the 6th house and opposing Saturn in the 12th. She is independent and stubborn and the happiest child I've ever been around. She loves horses (the sixth and 12th house impact denotes a love of big animals.) We adore each other. She's a little leader looking for a group to lead and her Aunt and soon her Uncle will provide her with the group of cousins to lead.

I didn't pick up, anything that slipped out from his speech........but at this point they can't occupy my brain any longer./ They have been denied access.
I was painting as I watched!
Here's a video of the speech! No passion, no resolve..at the end he closes his eyes in resignation. It's almost as if "HE GOT IT!" Like so many of the population recently........................( They had to tell HIM what was really going on?)

Just awesome comments all!

The "slip" came when he noted that we were defending "our interests" in the Middle East. Just what ARE those interests? Well, we all know what they are. He also stated that the provisional government is sharing oil revenue with all provinces. Hmmmmmmmm What revenue? The 10% (or less) agreed upon with the oil consortium -- a consortium composed of Bush/Cheney cronies?

It was terribly difficult to listen and watch. We felt we must to try to determine what those inuendos were. And oh lucky me, i was still feeling the effects of a Moon/Neptune passage. :) So, i'm waiting to hear what others uncovered.

Posted by: karen on September 14, 2007 12:56 PM

Karen, "our" in the context of Bushco describes a relatively small group, doesn't it? As in, Bushco family and cronies? They have huuuuuuuuge interests in the ME and now in keeping this wretched war going since they are the primary suppliers of all the supplies--except of course, the soldiers, which the American public is expected to continue supplying until success is achieved. Over at firedoglake, there's a good article
"Bush Is Holding the Troops Hostage to “Success”
By Scarecrow on Fri Sep 14, 2007 at 05:00 am" which suggests the main "surprise" was that Buschco expects us to keep sending our treasure (including that most precious, our chidren) until "success" is achieved. Whatever that is; he apparently did not define it.

Sigh, O sigh, O.

WHAT'S GOING ON?
by Carol Wolman
OpEdNews http://tinyurl.com/2tu7o2

excerpt:
Going into Labor Day weekend, there were lots of rumors anticipating a false flag operation, another 9-11. Trainloads of armored vehicles rolled into Houston. The San Francisco Bay bridge closed for three days. Suspicious activity was reported on ferries in Puget Sound. Ominous civil defense exercises are being held in Oregon, as part of Operation Noble Resolve, which also involves military jets flying over New York. An antiaircraft division is ordered to Washington DC.

We made it through the holiday safely.

Then last Wednesday, Congressman Paul Gillmor (R-OH) was found dead in his home. This was reported as a heart attack, until word leaked out that he had blunt trauma to the head and neck. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20649320/ Now we're being told he fell down the stairs. Gillmor was investigating a series of option trades that are suspicious- someone is betting billions of dollars that the market will fall 50% by September 21st. Even with the housing crisis, it would take a major catastrophe, like a "terrorist" attack, to precipitate such a plunge. As part of his job on the House Finance Committee, Gillmor was investigating this deal. Was he murdered because he was about to reveal something?

Would this death, on top of the deaths of Senators Wellstone and Carnahan, and the anthraxing of Senators Daschle and Leahy, have a chilling effect on people in Congress? Maybe that's why they're "spineless".
Now we learn that on August 30th, six nuclear warheads were "accidentally" shipped by B-52 from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. (Five arrived, did one get "lost"? Or is someone unable to count?) This violates all military procedure, which requires that nuclear weapons always be shipped on the ground in the continental US, so that if there's an accident, a bomb detonation won't occur. It would take an order from the Commander-in-Chief to put nukes on a plane.

The warheads were reportedly fastened to cruise missiles, which have a range of 1500-2000 miles. Not enough to cross the Atlantic, but enough to hit cities in the US as part of a false flag operation. This scenario is being claimed by "military investigators" on the Hal Turner show, and is making its way around the internet. It's being said the plan was to hit 5 American cities with nuclear weapons over Labor Day weekend in order to install martial law. If so, we have been saved by the grace of God, operating through loyal American whistleblowers, who made the "accidental shipment" of nuclear warheads public.

Now we are told that the entire Air Force will stand down on September 14th, for overhaul and review of procedures. http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2007/09/airforce_aircombatcommand_standdown_070807/ Our skies will be unguarded for a day, and our vulnerability has been announced to the whole world. It's an open invitation to America's enemies to attack us. The last stand-down, unannounced ahead of time, took place on Sept 11, 2001. What's planned for Sept. 14th, 2007? Oddly enough, El Al, the Israeli airline, will not be flying planes that day either.

What is going on? One of my most anti-conspiracy friends says he believes it's a giant conspiracy. What do you think? and how can we nip it in the bud?

Recently, I've had thoughts about croning. All of the stuff so far assumes children and a family already. I don't have either (want kids through adoption) but marriage is somewhat more remote a possiblity. How does someone like me become an elder, and what does it say about our culture that we don't discuss this sort of thing?

BTW, I am an official college student. All of the paperwork is done, except for class registration. I will be going for a Bachelor's in Communication, Organizational Communication specialty. All online.

Posted by: Carol on September 14, 2007 01:54 PM

Which I think is the most overlooked part of the Internet revolution: the ability to expand one's mind through distant communication. We no longer have to deal with the mechanics of getting a meeting hall or finding people nearby who might have a clue. I can communicate with a Master without leaving my neighborhood. Alice Bailey spoke of recieving packets from her Tibetan Master through the mail. I wonder how many more things she would have written about and understood if she could have communicated with her Master in real time, and with a whole group of Masters?
My college class will be like that, although the graduation ceremony will be live and in person.

Whoever posted the tinyurl piece -- THANKS! -- but since my mind cannot even conceive of the deviousness exhibited by the "kings," i cannot imagine why they are so fixated on destroying this country. What i believe is that they are attempting to dismantle the middle class, thereby ensuring a steady supply of impoverished workers. A larger version of the company-store-type reign of terror.

9/11 - the big cover-up?

Peter Tatchell
September 12, 2007 10:30 AM

http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/peter_tatchell/2007/09/911_the_big_coverup.html

Six years after 9/11, the American public have still not been provided with a full and truthful account of the single greatest terror attack in US history.

What they got was a turkey. The 9/11 Commission was hamstrung by official obstruction. It never managed to ascertain the whole truth of what happened on September 11 2001.

The chair and vice chair of the 9/11 Commission, respectively Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, assert in their book, Without Precedent, that they were "set up to fail" and were starved of funds to do a proper investigation. They also confirm that they were denied access to the truth and misled by senior officials in the Pentagon and the federal aviation authority;
and that this obstruction and deception led them to contemplate slapping officials with criminal charges.

Despite the many public statements by 9/11 commissioners and staff members acknowledging they were repeatedly lied to, not a single person has ever been charged, tried, or even reprimanded, for lying to the 9/11 Commission.

What people don't know is just how hated the Bushco people are in all phases of the Federal Bureaucracy. First of all, a large part of it is minority, so it's starting off on a bad footing already. He's outsourced good jobs to cronies. He's fostered an anti-union attitude. He's been stingy with raises. He and his party have made it clear that they don't like us.

And the Department of Defense is no exception. Just think: in order to benefit a lot of his cronies, support services that would gave gone to DOD people or Reserve people have gone there. And what kind of morale would a non-union Homeland Security have when you have no protections against political retaliation? Who's going to stick their neck out for quality control?

Carol, AW is so happy and proud of you, what an accomplishment and how exciting. I know everyone on this site is jumping for joy at your intelligence and good fortune.

Now, becoming a "crone" age helps and you can study "crone" energy, but it just sort of finds you, you don't find "it." Crone is a wisdom that comes with age and experience and being an observer of life and people and energy. I expect you are already well on your way.

I don't know who posted the articles above about Rep. Gillmor, but it's chilling in the implications. I did hear last night about the nuclear weapons "flying" across the country. It was reported that it was accidental and no one knew how or why, but I didn't think "accidental" something is up and we want to be watchful. I did see on the web where a person (for not much money) can purchase three days of food and water approved by the Coast Guard.

If, as suggested above, it is a conspiracy I sure don't know how to stop it, wish I did.

I fully expect to see Lugar in the next wave of Republican retirements. Even if he stays the full term, 2012 isn't all that far away.

Force of gravity

September 11, 2007

Bruce Fein - In "The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire," Edward Gibbon anticipated President Bush's criminal stupidity in post-Saddam Iraq: "History is indeed little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind."

Mr. Bush's mulish insistence that Iraq's Sunnis, Shi'ites and Kurds can be cajoled into harmony with American guns and tutorials after 4,000 unbroken years of despotism and division is wasting the lives of brave Americans every bit as prodigally as the ill-conceived Charge of the Light Brigade wasted the lives of the British warriors in the Crimean War. Will House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid please stand up and protest: "Mr. President, you shall not crucify any more our sacred soldiers on a cross of ignorance?"

President Bush scorns the wisdom born of reading and discerning the vexing variety of motivations that inform human behavior: power, avarice, fame, domination, compassion, indulgence, fear and charity. Author Robert Draper in "Dead Certain" quotes Mr. Bush as follows: "You can't learn lessons by reading. Or at least I couldn't. I learned by doing."

Wishing you a wonderful, exciting journey in your studies (BTW, have any 9th or 3rd or 11th house transits going on?) You are really in a prime period of creativity and accomplishment, i.e. your website. Remember the wisdom that happiness is found in the journey. I think you already know that.

I have a degree in Communications and wanted to expand it to organizational behavior which is probably similar to organizational communcations. It deals with intristic and extrinsic motivation (intrinsic is much better), team leadership, quality control and customer service, finding creative ways to improve productivity and relationships within systems.

Stuff like that. Well, Enjoy!

This is an eye-popper from a conservative - at least he was a conservative

The case for Marx is that offshoring has boosted corporate earnings by lowering labor costs, thereby concentrating income growth in the hands of the owners and managers of capital. According to Forbes magazine, the top 20 earners among private equity and hedge fund managers are earning average yearly compensation of $657,500,000, with four actually earning more than $1 billion annually. The otherwise excessive $36,400,000 average annual pay of the 20 top earners among CEOs of publicly held companies looks paltry by comparison. The careers and financial prospects of many Americans were destroyed to achieve these lofty earnings for the few.
Hubris prevents the realization that Americans are losing their economic future along with their civil liberties and are on the verge of enserfment.

So here's a tidy little racket: After being installed president thanks to a voting fracas in a state conveniently governed by your brother, cook up a national educational curriculum and place at its center the standardized test. Give the curriculum a name with a wink and a nudge, like, oh, "No Child Left Behind." Then, funnel taxpayer money to equipping schools with a gimmicky learning device focused on standardized tests and sold by your other brother, the sadly anonymous one, whose only (fading) claim to fame is a role in the Savings and Loan scandal of the late 80s.

Yoo hoo, Garry, it's past time for you to check in. Interested in how you're doing and, assuming you are ok, what you have learned about the nuke incident. There is a thread at DU about two or so deaths of people that might be related to it. I don't know what to make of it, but then this crowd pushed me way past the limits of credulity a long time ago.

Takeover: The Return of the Imperial Presidency and the Subversion of American Democracy

From Publishers Weekly:

Savage, who won a Pulitzer for his Boston Globe articles about the signing statements George W. Bush used to negate legislation limiting presidential authority, gives that issue a key part in this account of the Bush administration's efforts to increase executive power. Covering constitutional issues as well as the political backgrounds of former White House attorneys like Alberto Gonzales and John Yoo, this detailed report traces their concerted effort, from the moment Bush took office in 2001, to [leave] the presidency in better shape than he [Bush] found it.

The authorization to use force against Iraq is only the tip of the iceberg. Bush has already gone so far as to declare himself able to negate treaties with other nations at will, Savage reports. He also demonstrates how many of the administration's most controversial acts have their roots in Dick Cheney's experiences in the Nixon and Ford administrations.

This incisive analysis of congressional and judicial efforts to check the administration's power grabs adds up to a searing indictment.

Ya think he had to throw away his shampoo, Aqua-Velva and such before boarding?

Shy, that comment about throwing away his shampoo and Aqua-Velva is just hilarious.

I saw this article earlier and thought "jeeze, we can't get from state to state without practically undressing and with them making sure breast milk is really breast milk" and this guy gets to Greece without a passport." Too much.

It has been well-documented that since the early 1980s the federal government has acquiesced in every respect to economic policies that have resulted in the steady erosion of our manufacturing base, elimination of millions of skilled industrial jobs, creation of a crushing burden of household and individual debt, crumbling of our physical infrastructure, privatization or elimination of public services, failure to meet such crises as the Katrina disaster, export of jobs to low-cost foreign labor markets, unfair distribution of taxation, and toleration of the influx of millions of illegal aliens who keep wages low within the domestic economy.

Since the Clinton administration, the government has misled the public through distortion of economic indicators. Calculations of the GDP are too high and exaggerate the growth of the economy. The consumer price index on which government cost-of-living adjustments are based has eliminated such items as food, fuel, and home buying. Actual inflation is running at a rate of three times what the government estimates; i.e. closer to ten percent than the three percent which is claimed. Regarding the money supply, the Federal Reserve has stopped reporting one of the most important indicators, which is M3 — the amount of money available to the largest institutional investors. Data which are available today show without question that the producing economy — that is, the everyday world of people who work for a living — has been in recession for over a year. Meanwhile, the financial economy that lives off the producers as a parasite continues to float on rollovers of mega-loans originating with the Federal Reserve and its policy of allowing banks to capitalize the massive amounts of repurchase agreements generated by electronic funds transfer.

very good article PatC and well timed. I could not understand why people were not up in arms when the Federal Reserve stopped reporting on M3's. This is where the media fails us in helping the masses understand our financial system and the impact these things have on the average person. We are slowly being drained of our resources and there doesn't seem to be a stop to it.
