Like a River
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse August 28, 2007, 6:35 AM Washington, DC
“Like a river flows to the sea…” Elvis Presley sang of love meant to be. The highest calling is love the highest vibration of Pisces, and the Piscean Age. The preponderance planets gathered in mutable sign weighs heavily in this full moon chart, flowing, “So it goes, some things, are meant to be”…

Virgo: time to clean up, count up, save up. Work beckons. Things have been left askew as Leo leaves the dishes to Virgo. The eclipse adds emphasis to the workers. Posted by: Carol on August 27, 2007 10:08 AMA commenter onCommon Dreams, Richard K, had a dream. It's the 12th post down. "I just had the most amazing dream. It was as though I was in some large American city where everyone, as if spontaneously, started leaving their vehicles in the middle of the street to get in line with hundreds and thousands of pedestrians who were lined-up, up and down the streets in multiple switchbacks similar to the way people line up for exhibits at a World’s Fair." "Again, I pray to God that my dream was prophetic." Hum, Watergate redux? Investigators declined to say what was stolen or what was left behind at the office, which is on Lewis Street. Jamie Radice, a spokeswoman for Mr. Dodd, confirmed the break-in, but said she was not sure what was taken. The police said they believe that the suspects jumped from the roof of a building next door onto the fire escape of the building that houses Mr. Dodd’s office and broke in through a second-story window. The burglary occurred between 10 and 11 p.m., they said. Mr. Dodd is seeking the 2008 Democratic nomination for president.
Embattled Attorney General Resigns By STEVEN LEE MYERS Mr. Gonzales, who had rebuffed calls for his resignation, submitted his to President Bush by telephone on Friday, the official said. His decision was not immediately announced, the official added, until after the president invited him and his wife to lunch at his ranch near here. Mr. Bush has not yet chosen a replacement but will not leave the position open long, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the resignation had not yet been made public. Mr. Bush had repeatedly stood by Mr. Gonzales, an old friend and colleague from Texas, even as Mr. Gonzales faced increasing scrutiny for his leadership of the Justice Department, over issues including his role in the dismissals of nine United States attorneys late last year and whether he testified truthfully about the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs. Earlier this month, at a news conference, Mr. Bush dismissed accusations that Mr. Gonzales had stonewalled or misled a congressional inquiry. “We’re watching a political exercise,” Mr. Bush said. “I mean, this is a man who has testified, he’s sent thousands of papers up there. There’s no proof of wrong.” Mr. Gonzales’s resignation is the latest in a series of high-level departures that has reshaped the end of Mr. Bush’s second term. Karl Rove, another of Mr. Bush’s close circle of aides from Texas, stepped down two weeks ago. The official who disclosed the resignation today said that the decision was Mr. Gonzales’s and that the president accepted it grudgingly. At the same time, the official acknowledged that the turmoil over Mr. Gonzales had made his continuing as attorney general difficult. Posted by: wv on August 27, 2007 03:23 PMJust a quick question for people who've had eclipses hit significant areas of your charts: My sun is at 5 Pisces (rounding upP, and my Mars is at 3. I'm curious as to how this might affect me. (Saturn is also not far away, at 27 Aquarius.) Thoughts? Posted by: FrostWolff on August 27, 2007 03:38 PMGood riddance, Alberto. Posted by: bhakti on August 27, 2007 03:41 PM As always Morgana, the truth delivered in solid imagery and I love it. Something swirling around in that fetid pea soup they call Washington, DC. This article appeared this morning on DU http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3480543 and a high powered stock friend of mine called to tell me buy gold or copper, I am waiting to see if silver is on her list. The fires raging in Greece, threating the Temples of Zeus and Hera (his wife)and the "myths" raised to the status of Gods and Goddesses over 2800 years ago; flames leaping at these temples endangering them makes me wonder if flames are leaping at our own "myths" we have also raised to gods, are they about to be devoured along with the rest of us. Posted by: Sally on August 27, 2007 03:47 PMFrostwolff, we always forget that eclipses are more active the six months prior and to a lesser degree the six months following an eclipse than on the actual day. Look over the last six months and what have been your experiences? With you natal Mars conjoin your Sun is an indication of being your own worst enemy, that aspect in a person's chart signify a risk taker and that's a good thing in some instances and a problem in others. I would suggest that for the next several weeks you just "look before you leap" and all should be well. You could also have a great opportunity come your way, and as long as you remember that all that glitters isn't gold you should be able to profit from the opportunity. Posted by: Sally on August 27, 2007 03:53 PMThanks, Sally. It's funny you mention the last six months. That was about the time I wrapped up being in the first play in which I was cast in over ten years. (It happened to be "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"!) I got a bad case of post-show depression then, that was tied into the spring thaw of the Northeast--April is the cruelest month, sort of thing. There have been some rather wonderful and exciting developments in my life of late, though with all the things that we see happening around us, I'm not sure how real they are. So yeah, I've been really looking before I make any leap. Thanks again. Posted by: Frostwolff on August 27, 2007 04:06 PMAh, what a morning! Wake up to the stirring prose-poetry of Mz Morgana and to the sight of rats, rats, swimming fast, as far as the eye can see! Posted by: shylurker on August 27, 2007 04:08 PMSo long, Gonzalez. You won't be missed. I just hope that he isn't replaced by somebody worse. Can we just have the interim run out the clock? Why confirm somebody anyway? Nobody would be asked for the job who wouldn't try to rig things in the upcoming elections, so why try? Posted by: Carol on August 27, 2007 04:48 PMRegarding the fires in Greece, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x51538 Posted by: bhakti on August 27, 2007 06:23 PMSpeaking of possibly precognitive dreams, I had two last night that might be worth mentioning. One had to do with my grad school alma mater, NYU addressing the notions of peak oil and its effects on the operations of the university. The other was more mysterious, but with the Diana stuff going on, I thought it might be relevant. (Funny, Diana = Artemis, of the Greek pantheon, re: the fires in Greece... Something to think about.) In the dream, I was like a peasant woman devoted to "Queen Maria Andropovna". Whatever else was going on, I-as-peasant-lady knew this woman to be of the highest calibre person, and that she was one of the few to be fit to the role of queen. She really understood that in this position, it was about serving her people rather than them serving her. I hadn't thought of it as relevant and it may not be. But I have had precognitive dreams before, and with this eclipse happening right on my Sun/Mars conjunction, maybe it's more relevant than I know. In any case, whether it is or not, it's good to put it into the "Blogkashic Record." Posted by: Barbara on August 28, 2007 04:07 PMEclipse Full Moon was awesome, but I didn't get to see it all, too many clouds. However it started with a bang of change in the world. Turkey elected a solid avowed Muslim as their 11th President in a fiercely secularist government. Abdullah Gul was born Oct. 29, 1950 in Kayseri, Turkey. He promises to keep church and state separate. He's smart and passionate, and could be a volatile in his beliefs. Turkey could be the rallying point for a world resurgance for Muslims. At one point in history the Muslims brought great things to the Europe and instrumental in moving Europe out of the dark ages. And Alberto Gonzales is gone. This eclipse fell across the 2005 Bush Inauguration Uranus in the 11th, sudden departure of friends and a break up of a group. Hmmm wonder if that's true. Posted by: shylurker on August 28, 2007 11:07 PMHi Shy, no I didn't upload the charts, it was a 1am thing. I used the US natal chart sag rising, the full moon chart set of edt. I took a look at several others, the NAU, Sally caught the hit on the inaugeral chart. I also checked out the ERA Lucretia Mott Amendment, and the Silent Sentinels Protest. When I get a chance this evening I'll upload the charts and add a link here in the blog. One hour 40 min. and I am on a mini vacation, my god daughter is arriving for a visit tomorrow night and I've one day to white tornado the house. :) Oh, golly, wv--I am afraid you are correct. What can we do? My fear is that an attack on Iran will begin in September (because "you don't introduce a new product in August" as Ari Fleisher said about the Iraq war, four years ago. Just read that American troops went into a hotel in Baghdad and "captured/arrested" some Iranians who were there to negotiate contracts with the Iraq government. Plain provocation. After Bush's SOTU address in January this year I called the White House and left a message that the US should NOT start a war with Iran. From the operator's response I got the impressions that mine was only one of many calls with the same message. Could we start a national call-in, do you think? We must do something. Don't need any more gasoline (pardon the expression) thrown on the mid-East fire. That book about the earth without HomoSapiens is looking very prescient. A fourth grade class in the area went out and sold bottled water (they designed the label themselves) and raised $6,300 which they spent to give a South African village of 2,500 people a water pump that goes deep below the surface for water. These students are now looking for help to pay for the cost of installation (about $7,000.00) and transportation. I'm betting they get it by tomorrow. They also have another goal. to do this for more villages. Posted by: lunaoscura on August 31, 2007 03:03 AMStarIQ has just posted Kinda interesting his comments on women in the political scene coming to power when Saturn is in Virgo. "Here is an influence that synchronistically and systematically streamlines work practices and methodologies. Greater emphasis is placed on quality control and consumer rights, engendering a more consistent and conscientious approach from the manufacturing and production end. " Maybe we will be able to buy products that work for more than 3 months! Given the recent scandals over lead in toys & bad pet food, the Chinese may address this issue. The last Sat in Virgo period 1979......... was a very creative productive time for me ( in 4th H, where Neptune lives...) Bring it On!
1. Saturn enters Virgo on September 2, and soon hits critical points in the presidential candidates' charts. Saturn here tests their resolve about military deployments in Iraq and elsewhere, shaking out those who don't carry Saturn's clarity and resolve. Saturn will oppose Uranus in 2008, evoking the same configuration that split the American psyche over Vietnam. 2. Pluto turns direct September 7 and Venus turns direct the next day, right on the U.S. Midheaven, marking an eventful phase, especially in the economy; watch for leading indicators to reveal the direction. Pluto's station often brings natural or humanitarian disasters. Also, political, military, and business leaders rise and fall on these dates. 3. Solar Eclipse on September 11 takes place simultaneously with the U.S. Mars Return, indicating an emphasis on terrorism and how to combat it. This eclipse takes place near the U.S. Neptune, as well as the Saturn-Uranus opposition on election day (November 4, 2008), foreshadowing the growing division over how to manage America's military-petroleum complex. 4. The Sun, Mars and Pluto form an angry, dramatic T-square, most dangerous from the 11th to 21st. Expect power plays, extreme actions, and direct confrontations at all levels of society. Compromise is highly unlikely, as leaders stake out unwavering positions against powerful enemies. Watch for an unusual number of explosions, fires, and accidents to make headline news. 5. The Fallnoglossary> Equinox takes place at 5:52 am (EDT), September 23. In Washington, DC. Uranus is right on the Descendant, where it likely describes an ongoing crisis atmosphere in the nation's capital. The chart set for New York City has 18º Virgo Rising, the same degree as the Solar Eclipse, perhaps signaling a financial reversal or other spectacular event. http://www.stariq.com/NewsScope.HTM Posted by: wv on August 31, 2007 11:30 AM
By Nina Burleigh, HuffingtonPost.com The demise of Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig amuses those of us who enjoy watching right-wing heroes crash to the ground, spiked on their own hypocrisy. It further confirms my theory: prick any conservative and the kink oozes out. The rockier the rib, the more likely you'll find pink lingerie under the trousers or a bullwhip and manacles in the bedside drawer. You can bet those Beltway dominatrices, madams and escorts (gay and straight) have been able to buy second homes -- maybe even in Sun Valley! -- with their haul during W's reign. However, because we are people of compassion, we should also feel a little horrified by this tortured man's sad, humiliating demise. He's obviously lived his whole life afflicted by the religious psychobabble and outright bigotry of people who say homosexuality is a sickness and a lifestyle decision instead of an innate state of being that has nothing to do with illness or choice. The sickness, of course, is in the suppression, which is why closeted men seek love in rank public bathroom stalls. http://www.alternet.org/module/printversion/61228 Posted by: wv on August 31, 2007 11:43 AM
Arrogant American politicians, in calling for his ouster, shed all pretense of any interest in democracy. Clearly they see themselves as imperial overlords dissatisfied with someone they consider an American stooge. American generals even now are starting to talk about the need for a dictator, though they don't use that term. Maybe, they are telling journalists, democracy for Iraq wasn't such a good idea after all. http://reese.king-online.com/content.php?pubdate=20070829 Posted by: wv on August 31, 2007 12:28 PMThe coming Virgo transits are big for me. Mexico blasts U.S. immigration policies MEXICO CITY — President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of Mexicans in the U.S., saying "Mexico does not end at its borders." The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first state-of-the nation address. "We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights." He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico." More... http://www.indiadaily.com/editorial/18078.asp The truth about US immigration – it is time for US politicians that support amnesty, illegal immigration, outsourcing, and H1B to apologize to America What happened in America is a total shame. American politicians from both sides of isle lost their senses and supported amnesty, H1B and outsourcing that will haunt them for the rest of their political career. These US Senators and Congressmen defied the basic premises of the democracy – ‘people’s wishes’. They went after political contributions and forgot about the interests of the American people. They did not care about hard working middle class Americans that have lost jobs because of outsourcing, illegal immigration, and H1B. They did not care for the fact that common people in America were borrowing against their homes to maintain their standard of living in the middle of lowered wages and higher prices of the essentials. These politicians gave amnesty to millions in late eighties promising the nation that the illegal immigration will be halted. But they did nothing about it. They held the country hostage and were about to hijack the immigration issue this year. Fortunately people did rise up and defeated these politicians driven by political contribution money from the rich and corporations. The rich in America need illegal immigrants as household help.....More... Money is not free speech, and corporations are not persons. Can we correct this atrocity? Global Predictions The start of the month is critical time, over by the 7th. The new Moon on the 11th opposes Uranus, suggesting a finale to the actions and disasters in the Middle East over years going back to 2002 and 2003, and indicating the beginnings of a revolutionary new approach to politics in the West as well as China . It is a slippery month, with Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus respectively in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, all four mutable signs activated, suggesting that words not actions will be the method of delivery. Networking globally through common mediums such as You Tube, the web, telepathy and intuition will start unavoidable and irrevocable change. A worm will become active, whether a worm of discontent or a cyber worm. Benazir Bhutto to Return to Pakistan "Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto announced last week that power-sharing negotiations with President Musharraf have stalled, but that she's returning to Pakistan anyway. Bhutto has remained in exile since 1999 when she was accused of corruption charges, but now—citing an empowered Supreme Court and her leadership of the nation's most popular political party—she feels she won't be arrested. Benazir Bhutto was born with her Saturn—the ruler of her Capricorn Ascendant—placed in the Tenth House of earthly power (June 21, 1953; 7:59 pm; Karachi, Pakistan). Saturn here is the centerpiece of a stressful T-square involving Uranus, Neptune, and Chiron, ensuring that her hold on power will be continuously threatened by political rivals. Bhutto was first sworn in as Prime Minister on December 2, 1988 when transiting Saturn was exactly conjunct her Ascendant. Pakistan's President at the time deposed Bhutto on August 6, 1990, as transiting Uranus was near her Ascendant and closely opposing her Seventh House Mars. Mars here symbolizes the male opposition she faces during every election, as well as in daily life. After Bhutto returned to power in 1993, she was once again deposed on August 6, 1996 as transiting Saturn was squaring her Mars. Bhutto went into self-imposed exile as transiting Pluto entered her Twelfth House in May 1999. Now that transiting Pluto is about to emerge from her Twelfth House, so too is Bhutto emerging from exile. She faces enormous, powerful enemies, as transiting Pluto heads into its first opposition with her Sun, exact in mid-January 2008 when general elections for the next Prime Minister are expected." To be published later this month, Goldsmith’s The Terror Presidency, details how Bush administration officials, including then-White House counsel Alberto Gonzales and Vice President Cheney’s current chief of staff David Addington, promoted broad legal justifications for measures including controversial secret surveillance plans and detention procedures for enemy combatants. The contents of the book will be profiled in the forthcoming issue of the New York Times Magazine in a piece by lawyer Jeffrey Rosen, who also spoke exclusively with Goldsmith. “Goldsmith told me that he has decided to speak publicly about his battles at the Justice Department because he hopes that ‘future presidents and people inside the executive branch can learn from our mistakes,” Rosen writes. “In his view, American presidents for the foreseeable future will, like George W. Bush, face enormous pressure to be aggressive and pre-emptive in taking measures to prevent another terrorist attack in the United States.” More... Posted by: clymela on September 6, 2007 12:13 AMhttp://salon.com/opinion/blumenthal/2007/09/06/bush_wmd/ Bush knew Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction Salon exclusive: Two former CIA officers say the president squelched top-secret intelligence, and a briefing by George Tenet, months before invading Iraq.
Sep. 06, 2007 | On Sept. 18, 2002, CIA director George Tenet briefed President Bush in the Oval Office on top-secret intelligence that Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, according to two former senior CIA officers. Bush dismissed as worthless this information from the Iraqi foreign minister, a member of Saddam's inner circle, although it turned out to be accurate in every detail. Tenet never brought it up again. Nor was the intelligence included in the National Intelligence Estimate of October 2002, which stated categorically that Iraq possessed WMD. No one in Congress was aware of the secret intelligence that Saddam had no WMD as the House of Representatives and the Senate voted, a week after the submission of the NIE, on the Authorization for Use of Military Force in Iraq. The information, moreover, was not circulated within the CIA among those agents involved in operations to prove whether Saddam had WMD. On April 23, 2006, CBS's "60 Minutes" interviewed Tyler Drumheller, the former CIA chief of clandestine operations for Europe, who disclosed that the agency had received documentary intelligence from Naji Sabri, Saddam's foreign minister, that Saddam did not have WMD. "We continued to validate him the whole way through," said Drumheller. "The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming, and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy, to justify the policy." Now two former senior CIA officers have confirmed Drumheller's account to me and provided the background to the story of how the information that might have stopped the invasion of Iraq was twisted in order to justify it. They described what Tenet said to Bush about the lack of WMD, and how Bush responded, and noted that Tenet never shared Sabri's intelligence with then Secretary of State Colin Powell. According to the former officers, the intelligence was also never shared with the senior military planning the invasion, which required U.S. soldiers to receive medical shots against the ill effects of WMD and to wear protective uniforms in the desert.
