Like a River

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse August 28, 2007, 6:35 AM Washington, DC

The full moon blazed from moonrise near to dawn in the sign of Pisces, “I Believe”. Shining brightly illuminating humankind’s minds and dreams, leaving visions and epiphanies etched upon our souls as the moon traversed her path through the starry canopy above. Just at moonset the face of the moon is darkened, her visage masked, the Moon is hidden in the Earths shadow masking her from the glare of the Virgo Sun cresting the horizon. Fluid, mercurial as the moons shroud drops away, changes appear as wisps of fog, ideas flow and we will have all been touched.

“Like a river flows to the sea…” Elvis Presley sang of love meant to be. The highest calling is love the highest vibration of Pisces, and the Piscean Age. The preponderance planets gathered in mutable sign weighs heavily in this full moon chart, flowing, “So it goes, some things, are meant to be”…

The Sun upon the Ascendant at 4 Virgo, the Lunar South Node at 7 Virgo Rx. and Mercury at 16 Virgo set the stage for the chickens coming home to roost. The Sun representative of the Nations leader finds himself conjunct the karmic south node. The blow back from some action or many actions taken is brought home to the 1st House, the Nation’s image. Mercury exacerbates the collision of fate, its mercurial nature at home in Virgo, mutable earth, molten, unstable, like so many cities built on ancient landfills, susceptible to liquefaction.

Changeability is the signature energy, sudden, violent, over in a moment of time, or hours or days. Mercury square Mars in Gemini finds a hyper-active Bushboy in the 10th House spinning this story, that alibi, this falsehood, and that half truth, the Bush and Cheney Iran Road Show. Mercury opposes Uranus in the 7th House of International Partnerships, known enemies. You know you can poke at a rattle snake with a stick for just so long and it is going to bite you, foolish frat boy.

Ah but that’s not nearly enough volatility…Jupiter at 10 Sagittarius opposes Mars in Gemini, then flows in a sextile to Chiron in Aquarius, Chiron then completes a trine to Mars. That is a lot of ouch! Uranus the gift that keeps on giving is inflated by Jupiter then goes on to build on a square to Mars in the 10th. Not to be out done, Venus at 19 Leo in-conjuncts, sets off Uranus, greed, avarice, jealousy, the disease of hatred and intolerance, where indeed jealousy and covetousness is a green eyed diseased monster.

Lurking at 29 Leo in the 12th House of things going bump in the night, or is that blamo in the night, secretively applying significant pressure to the Sun who is paying the Piper less the snakes return to devour the rats and is standing in stark opposition to the Moon, the People as their dreams become so much bankruptcy, joblessness, homelessness, as the sub-prime market meltdown has bitten the People world wide. This is not only our backyard but much of Europe, England, Canada and Mexico suffers from these same thugs. Saturn at 29 Leo sits teetering on the brink of Virgo ready to feast on virtual numbers and bring the universe back to reality with a thud. Aided by a trine to Pluto in the mutable fires of Sagittarius the savagery of Saturn’s wrath will amplify the accounting of deeds, sweeping away the shell game that has been played on a world stage.

The full moon confluence of Virgo and Saturn energies are in the US 9th House. The 9th House of Justice, laws, albeit tainted Supreme Court and a wholly corrupted Justice Department gets this whole fetid mess dumped there. We will see if we are indeed a Nation of laws, Justice will be tested. We have oft heard that the wheels of Justice grind exceedingly slow and fine.

The full moon confluence of Piscean energy finds its expression in the US 3rd House. Sharing the 3rd House broadcast booth will also find Neptune in Aquarius, with the Moon, North Node and Uranus. Neptune’s greasy fingers are all over MSM, the internet buzzes with new truths, ‘the facts’ from the North Node, and Uranus spontaneously reframing reality.

The Piscean full Moon trines the US Venus and Jupiter in the 6th House, home of the military, armies, wars, government offices, public workers. American troops around the world have the love and support of their countrymen, so much so that their countrymen have said, well done, you’ve done what the Commander Guy said to do before he changed his story every few news cycles, and it is time to come home.

Virgo: time to clean up, count up, save up. Work beckons. Things have been left askew as Leo leaves the dishes to Virgo. The eclipse adds emphasis to the workers.

A commenter onCommon Dreams, Richard K, had a dream. It's the 12th post down.
http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/08/26/3426/

"I just had the most amazing dream. It was as though I was in some large American city where everyone, as if spontaneously, started leaving their vehicles in the middle of the street to get in line with hundreds and thousands of pedestrians who were lined-up, up and down the streets in multiple switchbacks similar to the way people line up for exhibits at a World’s Fair."

"Again, I pray to God that my dream was prophetic."
------------------------------------------------------
I have noticed that the bloggers, are fanning out, posting on multiple sites, rather than staying comfortably on the same blog they've been doing for several years. ANd the online-journalists are reading the blogs and responding immediately to comments. It appears to be a virtual gathering in the village green!
AS YOU SAY!
"The full moon confluence of Piscean energy finds its expression in the US 3rd House. Sharing the 3rd House broadcast booth will also find Neptune in Aquarius, with the Moon, North Node and Uranus. Interestiung development!
2 friends from Western states wrote of mars being as large as the moon tonight. I couldn't find a reference on NASA. IS there such a thing or are they both recycling old info? ( both send those circular internet e-mails without any fact checking.)
Thank you for taking time from your busy life to do such a descriptive, write up about this eclipse!

Hum, Watergate redux?
from the NYT url too long, article short...................
HARTFORD, Aug. 26 (AP) — Burglars broke into Senator Christopher J. Dodd’s office here late Saturday, taking undisclosed items and leaving evidence at the scene, the police said.

Investigators declined to say what was stolen or what was left behind at the office, which is on Lewis Street.

Jamie Radice, a spokeswoman for Mr. Dodd, confirmed the break-in, but said she was not sure what was taken.

The police said they believe that the suspects jumped from the roof of a building next door onto the fire escape of the building that houses Mr. Dodd’s office and broke in through a second-story window. The burglary occurred between 10 and 11 p.m., they said.

Mr. Dodd is seeking the 2008 Democratic nomination for president.

Embattled Attorney General Resigns

By STEVEN LEE MYERS
WACO, Tex., Aug. 27 — Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, whose tenure has been marred by controversy and accusations of perjury before Congress, has resigned. A senior administration official said he would announce the decision later this morning in Washington.

Mr. Gonzales, who had rebuffed calls for his resignation, submitted his to President Bush by telephone on Friday, the official said. His decision was not immediately announced, the official added, until after the president invited him and his wife to lunch at his ranch near here.

Mr. Bush has not yet chosen a replacement but will not leave the position open long, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the resignation had not yet been made public.

Mr. Bush had repeatedly stood by Mr. Gonzales, an old friend and colleague from Texas, even as Mr. Gonzales faced increasing scrutiny for his leadership of the Justice Department, over issues including his role in the dismissals of nine United States attorneys late last year and whether he testified truthfully about the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs.

Earlier this month, at a news conference, Mr. Bush dismissed accusations that Mr. Gonzales had stonewalled or misled a congressional inquiry. “We’re watching a political exercise,” Mr. Bush said. “I mean, this is a man who has testified, he’s sent thousands of papers up there. There’s no proof of wrong.”

Mr. Gonzales’s resignation is the latest in a series of high-level departures that has reshaped the end of Mr. Bush’s second term. Karl Rove, another of Mr. Bush’s close circle of aides from Texas, stepped down two weeks ago.

The official who disclosed the resignation today said that the decision was Mr. Gonzales’s and that the president accepted it grudgingly. At the same time, the official acknowledged that the turmoil over Mr. Gonzales had made his continuing as attorney general difficult.

Just a quick question for people who've had eclipses hit significant areas of your charts:

My sun is at 5 Pisces (rounding upP, and my Mars is at 3. I'm curious as to how this might affect me. (Saturn is also not far away, at 27 Aquarius.)

Thoughts?

Posted by: FrostWolff on August 27, 2007 03:38 PM

Good riddance, Alberto.

As always Morgana, the truth delivered in solid imagery and I love it.

Something swirling around in that fetid pea soup they call Washington, DC. This article appeared this morning on DU

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3480543

and a high powered stock friend of mine called to tell me buy gold or copper, I am waiting to see if silver is on her list.

The fires raging in Greece, threating the Temples of Zeus and Hera (his wife)and the "myths" raised to the status of Gods and Goddesses over 2800 years ago; flames leaping at these temples endangering them makes me wonder if flames are leaping at our own "myths" we have also raised to gods, are they about to be devoured along with the rest of us.

Posted by: Sally on August 27, 2007 03:47 PM

Frostwolff, we always forget that eclipses are more active the six months prior and to a lesser degree the six months following an eclipse than on the actual day. Look over the last six months and what have been your experiences? With you natal Mars conjoin your Sun is an indication of being your own worst enemy, that aspect in a person's chart signify a risk taker and that's a good thing in some instances and a problem in others. I would suggest that for the next several weeks you just "look before you leap" and all should be well. You could also have a great opportunity come your way, and as long as you remember that all that glitters isn't gold you should be able to profit from the opportunity.

Posted by: Sally on August 27, 2007 03:53 PM

Thanks, Sally.

It's funny you mention the last six months. That was about the time I wrapped up being in the first play in which I was cast in over ten years. (It happened to be "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"!) I got a bad case of post-show depression then, that was tied into the spring thaw of the Northeast--April is the cruelest month, sort of thing.

There have been some rather wonderful and exciting developments in my life of late, though with all the things that we see happening around us, I'm not sure how real they are. So yeah, I've been really looking before I make any leap.

Thanks again.

Ah, what a morning! Wake up to the stirring prose-poetry of Mz Morgana and to the sight of rats, rats, swimming fast, as far as the eye can see!

Posted by: shylurker on August 27, 2007 04:08 PM

So long, Gonzalez. You won't be missed.

I just hope that he isn't replaced by somebody worse. Can we just have the interim run out the clock? Why confirm somebody anyway? Nobody would be asked for the job who wouldn't try to rig things in the upcoming elections, so why try?

Regarding the fires in Greece,
read this thread that I thought were precognitive dreams. Has anyone on DU followed up? I'm a DU occasional lurker. The moment I heard about the fires I went AHA!

Posted by: bhakti on August 27, 2007 06:23 PM

Speaking of possibly precognitive dreams, I had two last night that might be worth mentioning.

One had to do with my grad school alma mater, NYU addressing the notions of peak oil and its effects on the operations of the university.

The other was more mysterious, but with the Diana stuff going on, I thought it might be relevant. (Funny, Diana = Artemis, of the Greek pantheon, re: the fires in Greece... Something to think about.) In the dream, I was like a peasant woman devoted to "Queen Maria Andropovna". Whatever else was going on, I-as-peasant-lady knew this woman to be of the highest calibre person, and that she was one of the few to be fit to the role of queen. She really understood that in this position, it was about serving her people rather than them serving her.

I hadn't thought of it as relevant and it may not be. But I have had precognitive dreams before, and with this eclipse happening right on my Sun/Mars conjunction, maybe it's more relevant than I know.

In any case, whether it is or not, it's good to put it into the "Blogkashic Record."

Eclipse Full Moon was awesome, but I didn't get to see it all, too many clouds. However it started with a bang of change in the world. Turkey elected a solid avowed Muslim as their 11th President in a fiercely secularist government. Abdullah Gul was born Oct. 29, 1950 in Kayseri, Turkey. He promises to keep church and state separate. He's smart and passionate, and could be a volatile in his beliefs. Turkey could be the rallying point for a world resurgance for Muslims. At one point in history the Muslims brought great things to the Europe and instrumental in moving Europe out of the dark ages. And Alberto Gonzales is gone.

This eclipse fell across the 2005 Bush Inauguration Uranus in the 11th, sudden departure of friends and a break up of a group. Hmmm wonder if that's true.

Why the US and Israel Should Lose Middle East Wars

By Bill Christison - Former CIA Analyst

Let's say it bluntly. War with Iran is inevitable before January 2009 unless Bush and Cheney are both impeached first. New Israeli-U.S. hostilities in Lebanon are also likely. Either warfare or covert actions conducted by the U.S. and/or Israel to bring about regime change in Syria are also probable.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18267.htm

Posted by: wv on August 29, 2007 12:16 AM

Oh, golly, wv--I am afraid you are correct. What can we do?

My fear is that an attack on Iran will begin in September (because "you don't introduce a new product in August" as Ari Fleisher said about the Iraq war, four years ago.

Just read that American troops went into a hotel in Baghdad and "captured/arrested" some Iranians who were there to negotiate contracts with the Iraq government. Plain provocation.

After Bush's SOTU address in January this year I called the White House and left a message that the US should NOT start a war with Iran. From the operator's response I got the impressions that mine was only one of many calls with the same message.

Could we start a national call-in, do you think? We must do something. Don't need any more gasoline (pardon the expression) thrown on the mid-East fire.

That book about the earth without HomoSapiens is looking very prescient.

Listed below are statements by more than 150 professors that contradict or are critical of the 9/11 Commission Report. Their collective voices give credibility to the claim that the 9/11 Commission Report is tragically flawed.

These individuals cannot be simply dismissed as irresponsible believers in some 9/11 conspiracy theory. Their sincere concern, backed by their dedication to researching and teaching the truth about a wide variety of subjects, demonstrates that criticism of the Commission Report is not inherently irresponsible or illogical, and that, in fact, it can be just the opposite.

It was clear and quite awesome with the eclipse directly overhead. Off to the left a few miles away the night sky was lit up by the glow from what must be a fairly large lake of lava that has been pooling up for several weeks now. The plume from the eruption was illuminated by the glow of the lava, red as the eclipsed moon against the black night.

Re your post on Merc retro, care to expand on your thoughts re when it's going retro by sec prog - Yep that's moi

I'm particulary interested in this retro dynamic because sec prog Venus went retro many years ago close to the time I got married - nuf' said:-)

What to me is Aha! interesting is that after many years of trying to make money from my writing/journalistic efforts I've finally started to make some meaningful money from it just as sec prog Mercury goes retro.
It strikes me as a rather strange manifestation.

I'm inclined to think going sec prog direct would create the catalyst but not going retro

Meanwhile 75%$ of the people I know who have had any kind of procedure that invades the skin have gotten staph! That covers 2 out of the 3 area hospitals!
I am watching the Edwards campaign with interest. That family is going through a major crisis, leading to TRUTH, in depth change. and life growth. It bothers me a lot when the "shallow majority" is critical!
WHich leads me to observe that I DON"T LIKE MICHELLE OBAMA! SHe's hard and pushy! "SHe is keeping "HER" children at home "ON SCHEDULE", not dragging them on the campaign trail like Elizabeth Edwards.
Also SHE made a promise to the public, that Barak would stop smoking.................you don't DO THAT to a spouse! If he flubs or gives a less than vigerous answer in a debate, let's remember, that he is struggling with a nicotine addiction that will last throught this entire campaign! AND he has to deal with her at home!

Hey all I've got a question--is Chiron in my sun sign Aquarius making me physically sick? And how much longer is this going to last? Seems like I've had one ailment after another during this transit, though I know Chiron is most oftem spoke of using wounded as a symbolic term.

With the FED about to experience Pluto's agenda, does anyone know the exact time and date for Senator Christopher Dodd, who is chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs?

Sally suggested looking at the FED through Secondary Progression and Solar Arc. I don't have even one book as secondary progressions and would like another, other than Noel Tyl's book on Solar Arcs. Any help?

Morganna, et all, We are into volatility in the financial markets and elsewhere. We've had the recent Lunar eclipse and awaiting a solar. So, I suppose the volatility will increase.
I've been wondering about the harmonics of this volatility. You know, like if you stimulate a building with just the right harmonic it, in theory, falls down. I don't believe I've seen a program which translates transits into frequencies. I'm talking over my head here, but it's good to stretch.......Peasce, Timmy J

Garry, Have you taken antibiotics for one of your illnesses? The reason I ask is that antibiotics will kill all bacteria, even the good kind that keep us healthy. If this is the case you should probably eat or drink acidophilus to restore bacteria in your digestive system.

Blackwater's been in negotiations with several state governments in the United States. Blackwater met recently with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger about doing disaster response in California. They're opening up a new private military base in San Diego. Another one is in Mount Carroll, Illinois. They have applied for operating licenses in every coastal U.S. state.

Garry, I had to go back to fourth grade where I caught many childhood illnesses and was afraid I'd be held me back a grade because I missed so much school. At that time, I had tr Neptune opposite my natal Mars and tr Saturn on that natal Venus (Leo) sq Saturn (Tau) mess--same's I've just been experiencing (though this time I didn't get any childhood diseases!). Best of luck. Hope whatever is causing your health upsets is passing--and quickly now.

Garry.

Chiron is currently at 11 Aquarius, I believe your Sun is apx 3 degrees of Aquarius. It's still in orb to your sun in a separating aspect. You might have been needing to become aware that your vital energy is changing. Chiron is the inconvenient benefic. Make sure to feed the immune system as well as the belly. And get more rest.

I have a wonderful story to share. I was watching the local news and a story came on that made me totally proud of our school age kids and of the teacher who inspires them. A fourth grade class in the area went out and sold bottled water (they designed the label themselves) and raised $6,300 which they spent to give a South African village of 2,500 people a water pump that goes deep below the surface for water. These students are now looking for help to pay for the cost of installation (about $7,000.00) and transportation. I'm betting they get it by tomorrow. They also have another goal. to do this for more villages.

Maybe we will be able to buy products that work for more than 3 months! Given the recent scandals over lead in toys & bad pet food, the Chinese may address this issue.

Top Five Astro-Events for September

1. Saturn enters Virgo on September 2, and soon hits critical points in the presidential candidates' charts. Saturn here tests their resolve about military deployments in Iraq and elsewhere, shaking out those who don't carry Saturn's clarity and resolve. Saturn will oppose Uranus in 2008, evoking the same configuration that split the American psyche over Vietnam.

2. Pluto turns direct September 7 and Venus turns direct the next day, right on the U.S. Midheaven, marking an eventful phase, especially in the economy; watch for leading indicators to reveal the direction. Pluto's station often brings natural or humanitarian disasters. Also, political, military, and business leaders rise and fall on these dates.

3. Solar Eclipse on September 11 takes place simultaneously with the U.S. Mars Return, indicating an emphasis on terrorism and how to combat it. This eclipse takes place near the U.S. Neptune, as well as the Saturn-Uranus opposition on election day (November 4, 2008), foreshadowing the growing division over how to manage America's military-petroleum complex.

4. The Sun, Mars and Pluto form an angry, dramatic T-square, most dangerous from the 11th to 21st. Expect power plays, extreme actions, and direct confrontations at all levels of society. Compromise is highly unlikely, as leaders stake out unwavering positions against powerful enemies. Watch for an unusual number of explosions, fires, and accidents to make headline news.

5. The Fallnoglossary> Equinox takes place at 5:52 am (EDT), September 23. In Washington, DC. Uranus is right on the Descendant, where it likely describes an ongoing crisis atmosphere in the nation's capital. The chart set for New York City has 18º Virgo Rising, the same degree as the Solar Eclipse, perhaps signaling a financial reversal or other spectacular event.

Why the GOP's Gay Wing Is Forced to Hide in the Bathroom

By Nina Burleigh, HuffingtonPost.com

http://www.alternet.org/story/61228/

The demise of Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig amuses those of us who enjoy watching right-wing heroes crash to the ground, spiked on their own hypocrisy. It further confirms my theory: prick any conservative and the kink oozes out. The rockier the rib, the more likely you'll find pink lingerie under the trousers or a bullwhip and manacles in the bedside drawer. You can bet those Beltway dominatrices, madams and escorts (gay and straight) have been able to buy second homes -- maybe even in Sun Valley! -- with their haul during W's reign.

However, because we are people of compassion, we should also feel a little horrified by this tortured man's sad, humiliating demise. He's obviously lived his whole life afflicted by the religious psychobabble and outright bigotry of people who say homosexuality is a sickness and a lifestyle decision instead of an innate state of being that has nothing to do with illness or choice.

The sickness, of course, is in the suppression, which is why closeted men seek love in rank public bathroom stalls.

Charley Reese
Black Comedy

Iraq's prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, is rising a notch in my estimation. He's begun to snap back at his American critics. Bully for him.

Arrogant American politicians, in calling for his ouster, shed all pretense of any interest in democracy. Clearly they see themselves as imperial overlords dissatisfied with someone they consider an American stooge. American generals even now are starting to talk about the need for a dictator, though they don't use that term. Maybe, they are telling journalists, democracy for Iraq wasn't such a good idea after all.

Back in 1977, I first started college, and had my chart done. 30 years later I am trying to finish and get my bachelor's degree. I started being an astrological teacher as well, since I was a fast learner. This year I want to finish those tasks-my higher education, my astrological certification, and maybe write well enough for a book.

Stan, this is a guess, but when Mercury goes on a long retrograde by progression, all the things that were left unsaid, all of the things unwritten down, get written or said. You may have to constantly relearn what's forgotten and remind people of what was said. It's a time to emphasize the inner dialogue over the outer one, especially when Mercury is retrograde by transit as well.

Montana Rep. John Sinrud, outraged that money is being spent protecting people's homes from forest fires:

We've gone ... from fighting log fires to structure protection. Where is it that we have to protect those structures? Why not just let them burn?

This is the mentality that gave us Katrina and, heck, 9/11. In GOP land -- giveaways to industry cronies ALWAYS comes before protecting average people. For Cheney, his energy industry cronies were far more important than dealing with the intelligence report titled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the US." Cheney's anti-terrorism task force NEVER met until after 9-11.

Bush Tucker: The Fatal Diversions of Would-Be Dissidents

Written by Chris Floyd

Saturday, 01 September 2007

The ever-intrepid Arthur Silber has somehow procured an advance copy of General Petraeus' upcoming report on the "surge." You can check out this amazing feat of investigative journalism here: Conundrum.

Silber has also identified the greatest threat to the life of the Republic -- nay, to human civilization itself -- that we face today: Tucker Carlson's pathetic fantasies about gay-bashing. (Yes, fantasy; I would bet $10 million of Dick Cheney's money that the little bow-tied twerp never went back to that bathroom -- even with a big burly friend at his side -- to confront anyone. He just thinks that's what a "real man" would do.)

As Arthur points out, although the United States stands on the brink of another war of aggression whose evil consequences would far surpass those of the monstrous debacle in Iraq, it is Tucker Carlson's nasty aside that has commanded the passionate attention of the "progressive" world, which demands immediate redress of his malefaction.

Mexico blasts U.S. immigration policies

MEXICO CITY — President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of Mexicans in the U.S., saying "Mexico does not end at its borders."

The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first state-of-the nation address.

"We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."

He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."

The truth about US immigration – it is time for US politicians that support amnesty, illegal immigration, outsourcing, and H1B to apologize to America

What happened in America is a total shame. American politicians from both sides of isle lost their senses and supported amnesty, H1B and outsourcing that will haunt them for the rest of their political career.

These US Senators and Congressmen defied the basic premises of the democracy – ‘people’s wishes’. They went after political contributions and forgot about the interests of the American people.

They did not care about hard working middle class Americans that have lost jobs because of outsourcing, illegal immigration, and H1B. They did not care for the fact that common people in America were borrowing against their homes to maintain their standard of living in the middle of lowered wages and higher prices of the essentials.

These politicians gave amnesty to millions in late eighties promising the nation that the illegal immigration will be halted. But they did nothing about it. They held the country hostage and were about to hijack the immigration issue this year. Fortunately people did rise up and defeated these politicians driven by political contribution money from the rich and corporations.

The rich in America need illegal immigrants as household help.....More...

Money is not free speech, and corporations are not persons. Can we correct this atrocity? NAFTA + CAFTA = HAFTA relocate to work.

Global Predictions

September 2007

The start of the month is critical time, over by the 7th. The new Moon on the 11th opposes Uranus, suggesting a finale to the actions and disasters in the Middle East over years going back to 2002 and 2003, and indicating the beginnings of a revolutionary new approach to politics in the West as well as China . It is a slippery month, with Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus respectively in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, all four mutable signs activated, suggesting that words not actions will be the method of delivery. Networking globally through common mediums such as You Tube, the web, telepathy and intuition will start unavoidable and irrevocable change. A worm will become active, whether a worm of discontent or a cyber worm. Stay flexible, remember to dance.

Neptune and Uranus all month, with Pluto standing still on 8 September, particularly affecting those of you born 16-18 June and December. Venus stops retrograding on 9 September, standing still for nearly two weeks, which will emphasise affairs concerning the romance and finance angle for those of you born between 8-11 August and 4-8 February.

Al Gore couldn’t believe his eyes: as the 2000 election heated up, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other top news outlets kept going after him, with misquotes (“I invented the Internet”), distortions (that he lied about being the inspiration for Love Story), and strangely off-the-mark needling, while pundits such as Maureen Dowd appeared to be charmed by his rival, George W. Bush. For the first time, Gore and his family talk about the effect of the press attacks on his campaign—and about his future plans—to the author, who finds that many in the media are re-assessing their 2000 coverage.

Sending out a call for protective Light to be sent to Benazir Bhutto....

Benazir Bhutto to Return to Pakistan

"Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto announced last week that power-sharing negotiations with President Musharraf have stalled, but that she's returning to Pakistan anyway. Bhutto has remained in exile since 1999 when she was accused of corruption charges, but now—citing an empowered Supreme Court and her leadership of the nation's most popular political party—she feels she won't be arrested.

Benazir Bhutto was born with her Saturn—the ruler of her Capricorn Ascendant—placed in the Tenth House of earthly power (June 21, 1953; 7:59 pm; Karachi, Pakistan). Saturn here is the centerpiece of a stressful T-square involving Uranus, Neptune, and Chiron, ensuring that her hold on power will be continuously threatened by political rivals. Bhutto was first sworn in as Prime Minister on December 2, 1988 when transiting Saturn was exactly conjunct her Ascendant.

Pakistan's President at the time deposed Bhutto on August 6, 1990, as transiting Uranus was near her Ascendant and closely opposing her Seventh House Mars. Mars here symbolizes the male opposition she faces during every election, as well as in daily life. After Bhutto returned to power in 1993, she was once again deposed on August 6, 1996 as transiting Saturn was squaring her Mars.

Bhutto went into self-imposed exile as transiting Pluto entered her Twelfth House in May 1999. Now that transiting Pluto is about to emerge from her Twelfth House, so too is Bhutto emerging from exile. She faces enormous, powerful enemies, as transiting Pluto heads into its first opposition with her Sun, exact in mid-January 2008 when general elections for the next Prime Minister are expected."

Book: Cheney aide said, 'We're one bomb away from getting rid of that obnoxious court'

Book reveals White House strategies to consolidate executive power

A new book by former Department of Justice lawyer Jack Goldsmith reveals a play-by-play account of White House strategies for expanding executive power following the Sept. 11 attacks.

To be published later this month, Goldsmith’s The Terror Presidency, details how Bush administration officials, including then-White House counsel Alberto Gonzales and Vice President Cheney’s current chief of staff David Addington, promoted broad legal justifications for measures including controversial secret surveillance plans and detention procedures for enemy combatants. The contents of the book will be profiled in the forthcoming issue of the New York Times Magazine in a piece by lawyer Jeffrey Rosen, who also spoke exclusively with Goldsmith.

“Goldsmith told me that he has decided to speak publicly about his battles at the Justice Department because he hopes that ‘future presidents and people inside the executive branch can learn from our mistakes,” Rosen writes. “In his view, American presidents for the foreseeable future will, like George W. Bush, face enormous pressure to be aggressive and pre-emptive in taking measures to prevent another terrorist attack in the United States.”

Bush knew Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction

Salon exclusive: Two former CIA officers say the president squelched top-secret intelligence, and a briefing by George Tenet, months before invading Iraq.

By Sidney Blumenthal

Sep. 06, 2007 | On Sept. 18, 2002, CIA director George Tenet briefed President Bush in the Oval Office on top-secret intelligence that Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, according to two former senior CIA officers. Bush dismissed as worthless this information from the Iraqi foreign minister, a member of Saddam's inner circle, although it turned out to be accurate in every detail. Tenet never brought it up again.

Nor was the intelligence included in the National Intelligence Estimate of October 2002, which stated categorically that Iraq possessed WMD. No one in Congress was aware of the secret intelligence that Saddam had no WMD as the House of Representatives and the Senate voted, a week after the submission of the NIE, on the Authorization for Use of Military Force in Iraq. The information, moreover, was not circulated within the CIA among those agents involved in operations to prove whether Saddam had WMD.

On April 23, 2006, CBS's "60 Minutes" interviewed Tyler Drumheller, the former CIA chief of clandestine operations for Europe, who disclosed that the agency had received documentary intelligence from Naji Sabri, Saddam's foreign minister, that Saddam did not have WMD. "We continued to validate him the whole way through," said Drumheller. "The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming, and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy, to justify the policy."

Now two former senior CIA officers have confirmed Drumheller's account to me and provided the background to the story of how the information that might have stopped the invasion of Iraq was twisted in order to justify it. They described what Tenet said to Bush about the lack of WMD, and how Bush responded, and noted that Tenet never shared Sabri's intelligence with then Secretary of State Colin Powell. According to the former officers, the intelligence was also never shared with the senior military planning the invasion, which required U.S. soldiers to receive medical shots against the ill effects of WMD and to wear protective uniforms in the desert.

(Bluggahz is my word for the blahs but x 100. Sort of like trudging through molasses with a forward spreader spilling gravel into the muck for good measure.)

If you check out the specifically, progressive, political blogs; they are hopping jumping mad. The proverbial fleas on a hot skillet comes to mind!

I guess it's just me--Saturn in Virgo IS in a waxing opposition to my natal Mars (at the Petrified Tree Trunks Lie Broken In Desert Sand degree). Then it'll hit my Sun and Chiron.

I don't really log into too many political blogs, to be honest. I've got outrage fatigue, and I send my prayer energy to implosion of ye whole Haus des Kartens...

Btw, for those interested, I wrote a letter to the Albany Times-Union that they didn't publish, so I sent it to vtcommons.org. It's the second item from the top of the blog.

My daughter is not far from you....in a rural area. She gets impatient with the ideologies of a lot of people in her town! In 2004 I was not allowed to talk politics in fron tof the kids for fear of creating problems for them. I respected that ; but you know.......those kids of Repugs, saw the truth and all sorts of poems ingles & slurs, uncomplimentary to the SAdministration!
( that was a typo but I like it, think I'll leave it!)

Thursday afternoon, as I don my tin foil chapeau

I saw the strangest article in the American Spectator the other day. If I read it correctly, it suggested that Alberto Gonzales resigned a week or so earlier than he or the White House intended.

>So why the speed up? According to DOJ staff, revelations that the Department was continuing to improperly vet partners for Muslim outreach programming were brewing, particularly with the resignation of the head of the department’s civil rights division.

So what’s the big deal with that?

>Earlier in August, it was reported that the department had canceled a Muslim outreach event at Washington headquarters, which would have featured Gonzales, after it was learned one of the cosponsors had ties to a Muslim organization that was an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal Holy Land Foundation terrorist financing prosecution.

Holy Land Foundation??? Where or where intrepid Plamesters have we heard the name of the Holy Land Foundation before???? Hmmmm?

Wait, wait, something is coming back to me from my foggy memory? Why do I associate Holy Land Foundaton with the Libby Trial?? What is the connection?

Yee Gods! and little fishes!!

I remember now. Judy, Judy, Judy!

Yes, intrepid pups—those of you with steel trap memories where probably shouting her name at your computer screens as you were reading this.

Bin Laden (???) checks in....

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/

Scroll down to Videos and take a look at the two photos of bin Laden, one taken in 2004 (right) and the one from the video that has come to light in the past day or so (left). Looks to me like he uses For Men Only hair dye on his beard!!

Come on you guys (the media and gov't.) You can do better at fooling the public!

Posted by: Lovi on September 7, 2007 08:07 PM

Well; We aredoing an ABC Extreme House Makeover to be filmed here this week! They will descend Sun at 6am.
L A meets Downeast Maine! Should be interesting. They will be driving past my Gallery all week! At least I'm on the town side and won't have to have a permit to go back & forth. They've already been taken out on the fishing/excursion boat yesterday, I'm sure they filmed while out on the Bay.
SHould be an interesting week!

Frostwolf, I now have the bluggahz too! Slightly alleviated by finding a herd of swallowtail caterpillers on my carrot tops. I removed them to the other side of the yard!

Those two OBL photos are iteresting, aren't they? He seems to have either shaved off his beard and pasted on one just for this recent occasion, or he has acquired some beard dye--and had someone clip his beard (at $400 per session, ya think?). Also, he seems not to have changed his clothes in years--or else he has this one outfit he carefully preserves and takes out only for purposes of videotaping idiotic messages to us Mercuns. And the background seems to be exact, too. The most amazing part is that he is alive. Now, how is that? Who let that happen?

Osama: talk about Extreme Makeovers.....

I would love to have a general clergy makeover and for them to recycle the pointy hats and garish garb to the KKK who would also be then be getting an upgrade into some reds and brocaide.
Living in Broooklyn, I see the same for the Hassidic Jews, get them out of polyester and 1600 Dutch clothing into something more festive and cooler in the summer.
The Arabs can use a makeover too, out of those grungy robes and shaves and haircuts, I bet they would look more attractive to their women and might just get nicer to them due to the makeover.
The women will get out of their burkas, hiding underneath their garbs of camaflogue, spandex, high boots, and their secret weapons, shavers and clippers to give their men the makeovers. I bet once everyone was groomed better their self esteem would rise and their outlook on life become fresher and peace would prevail.
My fashion 2 cents from Fashion Week here in NYC.

Another one out!

WASHINGTON - Chuck Hagel will announce Monday that he is retiring from the U.S. Senate and will not run for president next year, people close to the Nebraska Republican said Friday.

Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel plans to leave the Senate after two terms as a Republican Party maverick, people close to him say.
Hagel plans to announce that "he will not run for re-election and that he does not intend to be a candidate for any office in 2008," said one person, who asked not to be named.

I guess I'd better call the town office mon and get the time of incorportation, something I've never done in 16 years.

QOP, I surely hope you have lovely, very visible signage outside your place so the Make-Over crowd can film nice shots of it.

Posted by: shylurker on September 8, 2007 09:18 PM

QOP, how exciting!

Hagel, one reference I read was a specific reference as not running as a Republican. The man is only 60 years old, my bet he goes, Independent or a third party with Bloomberg.

Posted by: Morgana on September 8, 2007 09:39 PM

I wonder, Miz Morgana, if Hagel's lost confidence in the machines to "deliver the vote" now that they are increasingly being exposed for the rinky-dink (and highly exploitable) contrivances they are. He was an entrepreneur as I recollect.

Posted by: shylurker on September 8, 2007 11:05 PM

The article did say
he does not intend to be a candidate for any office in 2008,"
Doesn't rule out 2012. Why any of the want to take on the job is a mysery to me!?
I heard something disturbing too. A Deaniac, ( still has his vanity plate DEAN ) said that Kucinich was a part of the DLC, efforts to run with the DEAN Scream. ( along with Kerry & CLinton)
I will ask more detail when I see him this week. He WAS a delegate to the Nat Convention in 2004, must have gotten inside info?
SHy I hope they do more than film my sign! I hope they stop i and buy paintings & prints!

Well, 8:30 am Sun morning.......It has begun! The huge abc rv, the camera crew a whole procession of vans, SUV's police cars, ambulance, ( Wackenhut or Blackwater security? Guys in dark uniforms riding in a van of the type they use to convey prisoners ) So completely "out of the norm"! But the lucky family has received hate mail etc. ( the class warfare society comes to Milbridge. There must be some good letters to the editor in this

And I just found my book illustrated in 1977, Clickster ClackXter, available on-line! I took a flat fee rather than royalties, but I am delighted that the story is still out there. It is beyond timely!
The publisher moved from Va. to Datona Beach, and focuses on e-books, from a neat looking coffee shop with Wifi.

Illegal immigration everyone's concern, convocation speaker says

Paul Cuadros pulled no punches when he talked about the growing number of Latino workers immigrating to North Carolina and the nation.

Speaking at Appalachian State University’s fall convocation Sept. 6, the award-winning author said the silent migration of Latino workers which began in the late 20th century has been orchestrated by U.S. corporations and the government—but that it is everyone’s concern.
