Rumblings
Mount Rainier rises majestically above the Western Washington skyline above Seattle/Tacoma. The new moon a cold silver sliver at 28 Capricorn v/c is crystallized in the cold glacier capped volcano, stirring, rumbling, alive. Capricorn oft lauded for it's stability, it's monolithic corporations and institutions, its stern, heartless, and punitive nature. Symbolized by the Seagoat whose mythological origins lie in Babylonian antiquity, Capricorn is depicted as the Babylonian God Ea. Ea has the upper torso of a goat and the lower body is that of a fish. The Greeks ascribe Capricorn to the Great God Pan depicted with the muscular torso of a man and the strong sensual legs of a goat.

Morgana, very visual! While reading I saw the people as icycles! Who can blame them? How dare this "leader" go against our will! Again! Thank you. Posted by: Pat C on January 19, 2007 02:35 PMBrilliant Morgana, the imagery does take one's breath away. I agree with Laurie, you can absolutely see the frozen energy around these people and their attempt to encircle us with it. But there is something else brought to my mind by your imagery and that's a long forgotten attic or basement or cave. I keep feeling like I am looking back at Washington and how it's run and it keeps fading in and out like it doesn't exist or it's become an old tintype. Something will happen, it always does, that brings this group front and center for me, but over this last three years especially, the sense of them passing off the scene is very strong, and taking their minons with them. Thank you Morgana, the pictures your draw with words never leaves me. There's a sense that Cheney's influence is on the rise again, at least with Iraq policy, but that's after many months in which his allies say his role was diminished. To outside observers, Cheney has been the political equivalent of a black hole -- exerting a powerful but mostly invisible force on decisions. The office of the vice president has had a gravitational weight that sucked in other personalities and entire branches of the government without emitting light or heat that would explain the decision-making process. more Posted by: Pat C on January 19, 2007 03:09 PM
To most of us he seemed like a doofus -- a more or less well-meaning guy who enjoyed running things like baseball teams and the State of Texas if not too much work was involved. Had been an alcoholic and a drug user, but had apparently come clean in some hazy, quasi-religious way -- that was his personal history to many Americans (if not to all those who met with Karl Rove behind closed doors and heard the truth). At any rate, I remember thinking that Bill Clinton had done such a good job over the years getting the budget into a surplus and winning good feelings around the world that it really didn't matter who of the four who were running (Gore, Bradley, McCain, Bush) might win. They all seemed about the same in lots of ways. What we really needed was some respite from Clinton's own penchant for mischief. I liked Clinton. I remember that The New Yorker magazine asked me for my take on the Lewinsky scandal, and I said that on balance, in spite of the brouhaha, I still preferred a president who would make love, not war. Clinton was a flawed human being, that was evident, but he knew it. He never didn't know it. And he was always trying to make amends. But he was exhausting -- or the media made him exhausting. I thought we were due for a rest. http://alternet.org/module/printversion/46794 Posted by: wv on January 19, 2007 03:58 PMI know CODEPINK and their actions tend to rub many people the wrong way lately, but I just received an email from them and this paragraph is very encouraging. As he prepares for his second consecutive underdog bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, Ohio Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich can use a bully pulpit to draw attention to his activist liberal agenda. His appointment this week to be chairman of a new House domestic oversight subcommittee could help. The panel headed by Kucinich is under the House Oversight Committee, chaired by California Rep. Henry A. Waxman. The Domestic Subcommittee will oversee domestic policy issues including health care, labor, pensions, energy and the environment, among others. Kucinich said that as head of the new subcommittee, he will be able to influence Democratic policy making and “re-establish public oversight” over regulatory agencies that he said has been absent since President Bush took office. “I will be asking questions about the operations of every federal department and expect to be able to bring to public light information that has been hidden for the last six years,” he said in a statement Wednesday. He has broad leeway to pursue this goal. The subcommittee will have jurisdiction over the Labor, Commerce, Interior and Energy departments, as well as the anti-trust division of the Justice Department, the Federal Communications Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, among other agencies. So often people will blame the leader for what is going on, but they have to accept the blame themselves. So in the part of the world that you are speaking of, in general, not in all cases but in general, there is a very heavy overlay. And the overlay has to do with exactly what we were talking about earlier: giving away your energy balance or what you would call power. "This energy abuse virus tends to get in, infiltrate every part, and it worked its way even into the most sacred parts to the point where these empires, which once had been very sacred, became very energy-unbalanced. A friend made an interesting comment last night that i thought i'd share. He believes that the cabal currently in control will not allow the country to slip into impoverishment simply because they depend upon the revenue generated by the sheeple. My response was events are occuring beyond their control (global warming, resource depletion/poisoning, etc.) and that their wealth -- and our livelihoods -- will be threatened. They are smart and seem to be moving fast to me (probably because they figure they will have to clean up the mess from the previous generations)I've also noticed from the recent born babies (2years and down) that they are unusually happy, that has to be a good sign. Several years ago I wrote an article about the mistake of releasing "The Hounds of Hell" because one doesn't know where the unintended consequences will take them or on whose door they will knock. When you go back to the time that the agriculture base went the way of machines in the mid-1800's that way of life was done but people made it work and made it better, I think this new generation will have what it takes to make this better. Posted by: Sally on January 22, 2007 12:44 AMhttp://www.stariq.com/pagetemplate/article.asp?Pageid=7643 There is one very important geocosmic date this week: Monday, January 22. That is the date when Jupiter will form its first of three waning squares for the year to Uranus, and at the same time, Venus will form an opposition to Saturn. Both of these are considered Level 1 signatures, the strongest correlation (71%) to primary of greater cycles in U.S. stock indices, within 9 trading days in the case of Jupiter-Uranus, and 12 trading days in the case of Venus-Saturn. It is obvious that if a primary or greater cycle is forming now, it will be a crest. More Posted by: Pat C on January 22, 2007 03:08 AMUh oh, is the fix in? Get ready for a nasty campaign season and yes we will have to hear "Hil" be compared to Thatcher, Elizabeth the 1st, maybe even Catherine the Great before this is all over. It will be his choice but if Al Gore runs he will win and what should have happened 8 years ago will happen now. Mercury was retrograde 8 years ago on election day at 29 degrees Libra, election day for 2008 Mercury is once again at 29 degrees Libra, but this time it's direct giving a chance of a wrong being righted. It may jog a few brain cells and stay there under the wire influencing him. Please don't let the Saints' loss stop you from predicting anything, especially because you did it quickly without checking all the angles. I took the game seriously mainly because a) I'm competitive and b) I wanted the win for the many New Orleaneans who needed that shot in the arm, but a) it's only a game after all, and b) there are many Chicagoans who need a boost too, and at least some of them get to get away from that cold weather and go to mad Miami (South Beach will be a parking lot during the Super Bowl - I moved to New Orleans 4 yrs ago after 30 years in Miami. I guess you couldn't have Bradolina moving to NO and the Super Bowl too. Hopefully next year. I've known about the Mercury factor from the beginning and have written about it. Several years ago a client of mine who works with Mr. Gore asked me and I told him what I saw, I don't know if it got back or not. As a professional astrologer, it would be highly unprofessional of me to contact someone out of the clear blue sky and offer my opinion when I have not been asked by the subject. It's not something I would do at all. If Mr Gore accesses an astrologer they would surely see the obvious Mercury aspect and if he doesn't use astrologers he doesn't need one knocking on his door. I don't know if he will run or not, I sure as heck couldn't blame him if he doesn't. "We the people" did not back him up very loudly in 2000 and it's pretty selfish for us to expect him to back us up now. If he does choose to run that would be great, but he has to decide that one. I met him once briefly at a reception several years ago when he was VP and he was a very nice sincere person, he would certainly be a huge improvement. Basically she is saying, as they all are with their "exploratory committee" maybe I will run and maybe I won't we will see. Hillary and Bill have some things to go through and have to get from here to there for election day. All the candidates do, she does have some kind of trip up but I don't know if it will bust her campaign or not. On the horizon for both of them is ill health, scandal, mis-reading the public, problems in the family. This type of energy is around them right now and will be for several months. The aspects are serious enough that it could cause her to drop out. If the fix is in on the voting machines, we need to get going as a people and demand better machines. It's now to early to contact your congressman or woman or senator or election commissions in your state. While people seem to suspect McCain sold his soul to get a shot at the WH, so it would seem did Hillary. Ironic that it could come down to the two who would give up themselves to any kind of humiliation to be President. Does anyone see the devil hanging over this country. You know, red eyes, horns, black and red cape, keep your eyes peeled. This could go on forever, Bill and George are interested in changing the law that says a President can only serve two terms. January 21, 2007, 11:34 PM EST WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's pollster fired an opening salvo at Sen. Barack Obama and John Edwards yesterday, claiming their campaigns are "stalled or falling" -- and suggesting Obama isn't tough enough to withstand GOP attacks in 2008. A day after Clinton announced she would run for president -- and win -- her campaign's chief strategist Mark Penn sent a memo to reporters intended to offset an avalanche of articles emphasizing Clinton's high disapproval ratings and questioning her electability. "She is not just strong, but the strongest Democrat in the field," wrote Penn, referring to a new national poll showing Clinton with a commanding 20-plus-point lead over Obama and Edwards, the Democratic nominee as vice president in 2004. http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-ushill0122,0,2285023,print.story Posted by: wv on January 22, 2007 04:23 PM
Posted by Noel Sheppard on January 21, 2007 - 21:53. With the love-fest that is currently going on over Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois), it is certainly no surprise when a group of mainstream media members gets together to discuss Hillary Clinton’s shortcomings. Yet, it is quite odd to hear someone like Chris Matthews state that the current frontrunner for the 2008 Democrat presidential nomination – and a former first lady – is a female incarnation of one of the biggest left-wing failures in decades (video available here courtesy of our friend at Ms Underestimated). To set this up, the panel in the first segment of Sunday’s “The Chris Matthews Show” was discussing presidential candidates. As they moved in Al Gore’s direction, Norah O’Donnell stated that Democrat party leaders are concerned about Hillary’s chances in the general election, and that a more senior and experienced candidate like Gore might be the ticket so to speak. That precipitated this rather shocking exchange between O’Donnell and Matthews:
Matthews: Why do they think she won’t win a general? O’Donnell: Because they believe that she is too polarizing a figure because of her past. Matthews: Dukakis in a dress. Amazing. Am I the only one totally uninspired by the current crop of candidates and all the pageantry going on? As Joanna suggested above, it's only the beginning of 2007. The Primaries are still an entire year away! McCain, if I ever had any respect for him, lost it all when he embraced Bush (literally) during his 2004 Re-Selection campaign. I can't trust any man who would embrace that horrible excuse for a chief executive. Obama right now, to me, is still much more hype than substance. He doesn't have much of a political track record behind him, so it's hard to really assess what kind of leader he would be. Hillary I am totally clueless about. Maybe it's her foggy Pisces Moon, but I can't seem to figure out at all where or what she stands for. She might not know either, when she claims that she will be the US'"Margaret Thatcher?" It's hard to believe that any one of the current "frontrunners" is the best we've got, at a time when we will shortly be (and actually already are) in need of leadership along the caliber of Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt. Hopefully this helps narrow the time down, I was following along with the live blogging there today and it was moving fast. Good catch, Shez! Hopefully Cap'n Sally or Morgana will have a few moments to look at this. Posted by: shylurker on January 23, 2007 02:15 AMThis is a mixed bag on the Libby trial. Taking the time the Jury was seated (1:52pm) and Libby's chart there are positives and negatives for him. First of all the Jury has a very humanitarian and empathetic streak as a group and the aspects benefit Libby in someways and harms him in another manner. The glaring aspect coming out of this jury is the 9th house is Aquarius, ruled by Uranus, Libby's 9th house is Pisces (ruled by Jupiter) - I have a note here, when looking at an event one always takes the ancient Chaldean rulership of the signs. Back to the Jury, Jupiter and Uranus are in an exact square to the minute. Sun, Chiron, Mercury, Venus and Neptune all fall in Aquarius and that falls into Libby's 7th house of partnership. He will see them as working in partnership with him and they will be treated as such during the trial. The key will be if they see him as THEIR partner. They will follow the rigid guidelines set down and will give their verdict based strictly on the the rule of law they were given. Libby's progressed Sun in coming to an applying trine to the midheaven of the Jury Chart giving them a good impression of him, but also placing his sun at the bottom of the chart so he has a hard time shining, that doesn't bode well for him. I don't know how long this trial will go but if it lasts until mid April his chances go down for acquittal. Posted by: Sally on January 23, 2007 02:56 AMClymela, Oooh, thanks, Cap'n Sally.
