THE BOWLING PINS ARE SET UP
A news reporter from the NY Times in discussing the Foley Scandal, was almost giggling when he said "the guy is a hypocrite and if you can't enjoy watching the fall of a hypocrite you just aren't getting the most zest out of life that you could." That comment struck me hilariously funny because it's true, so true and hypocrisy is on display in Washington this week. I feel kind of sorry for them because they keep coming with more excuses and they don't know how utterly stupid they sound and how little credibility they have. Believe me the scrambling behind the scenes to cover their tracks on the Foley scandal and other scandals positioned on the brink of pushing the GOP off the cliff for a very long time. On November 17, 1800 at 9:00am in Washington, DC, the United States Congress had their very first setting in the brand new Nation's Capital. That august body of senators and representatives stood together and pledged their loyality to the Constitution and to the people of The United States of America. The Sun was in Scorpio and it squared Saturn in Leo, repeating the Sun/Saturn square of the 1776 Declaration of Independence. With their very own Sun/Saturn square, they would be the parent of the presidential parent and together they would parent the country. They would make the laws, they would oversee the office of the President, giving permission (or not) when asked. On that November day in 1800 they had lofty ideals, maybe integrity (maybe not) but believed they did and above all they took themselves very very seriously and would demand respect. The Nov. 17 chart also had another similar aspect to the July 4, 1776 energies. They had a Mars/Neptune opposition picking up the flavor of the Mars/Neptune square in the US chart. True this aspect can promote high ideals, it will also encourage justification for any and all actions as well as a tendency to periodically completely draining the treasury without having to be responsible or pay for that little bit of theft. Sweet. Against that background let me assure you that the scandals will just keep on comin for Congress this month, in fact for several months. These poor people are experience about their 7th Saturn Return and that is "test" time. Have you done what you said you would do and held your positions with honor. Whoops, that's gonna be a hard test to pass. Just to make sure Congress comes clean (the stars cannot trust them on their own) their progressed Mercury (the planet of communication) has passed to 29 degrees Sagittarius. Oh dear, that Mercury was in an exact square to our recent Solar Eclipse of September 22. So many of the Washington "players" are having mean ole Saturn transits to their Suns, Mercurys, Mars Saturn squares and returns all over the place. And if that isn't enough, Jupiter just went through a conjunction to their natal Neptune and Neptune is squaring. That is the Bubble that Burst aspect, and we don't want to forget that Saturn was also impacting the same degree. This is the WHOLE Congress undergoing the spotlight, including the Democrats so the scandals will fall on everyone. Just briefly the names on the list will be: Hillary Clinton That's just for starters as Saturn/Neptune and Pluto fling horse puckey in their paths. The election day Mercury and Uranus retrograde, as well as the Sun, Mercury Venus square to Neptune has given me concern as to the outcome of the elections. Those aspects throw fog, lies, theft and confusion everywhere on that day, but they are universal aspects and they could create havoc for the GOP as well as the Democrats, just depending on where the majority of the horse puckie falls. Looking at the charts of both their parties I don't think anyone will come out unscathed. Let's just say that the cosmic gods have set up the bowling alley, the pins are in place and if you listen very carefully you will hear the gong and the cry "let's bowl."

These.... people... crazy people... very, very scared people?... voted to dump the Magna Carta protections of being able to confront your accuser, and said it's okay to lock up "suspected terrorists" FOR LIFE without trial or anyway of protestng their innocence, you know sort of like in The Man in the Iron Mask.
Read this blog by H. Constance Gorman, a lawyer who is donating her time to represent a detainee at Guantanamo. She has been representing a man "swept up" in Afghanistan and falsely accused by "bounty hunters" who were paid by the US for pointing out terrorists -- now that's an idea that has no chance of getting false i.d.'s, doesn't it? TODAY'S EDITORIAL The facts of the disgrace of Mark Foley, who was a Republican member of the House from a Florida district until he resigned last week, constitute a disgrace for every Republican member of Congress. Red flags emerged in late 2005, perhaps even earlier, in suggestive and wholly inappropriate e-mail messages to underage congressional pages. His aberrant, predatory -- and possibly criminal -- behavior was an open secret among the pages who were his prey. The evidence was strong enough long enough ago that the speaker should have relieved Mr. Foley of his committee responsibilities contingent on a full investigation to learn what had taken place, whether any laws had been violated and what action, up to and including prosecution, were warranted by the facts. This never happened. http://washingtontimes.com/op-ed/20061002-102008-9058r.htm
Your Page, M’Lord These executives would become national jokes. They’d be denounced for trying to revive 19th-century child-labor practices and 12th-century feudalism. There would be no public money appropriated for Knight’s Squires or Sam’s Serfs. Yet Congress sees nothing strange about dragging teenagers from their families and schools to become pages, one step below a squire in the feudal food chain. They’re not being forced to wear Prince Valiant haircuts, but they have to do scut work that’s probably even less useful than what they could learn at Nike or Wal-Mart. http://select.nytimes.com/2006/10/03/opinion/03tierney.html?pagewanted=print Posted by: wv on October 3, 2006 11:47 AM
By DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 — For more than a decade, Representative John P. Murtha of Pennsylvania has operated a political trading post in a back corner of the House of Representatives. A gang of about two dozen Democrats mill around his seat. A procession of others walk back to request pet spending projects, known as earmarks. And Republicans come by, asking him to enlist some of those Democrats to join them on close votes. “Whether they get what they want in the bill or they get the votes they are looking for, nobody ever leaves completely disappointed,” said Representative Paul E. Kanjorski, a Pennsylvania Democrat often found in what is known as the Murtha corner. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/02/washington/02murtha.html?fta=y&pagewanted=print Posted by: wv on October 3, 2006 11:53 AMfrom wv's link to the Washington Times article, it says: "Rep. John Shimkus of Illinois, the Republican chairman of the House Page Board, said he learned about the Foley e-mail messages "in late 2005." Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, the leader of the Republican majority, said he was informed of the e-mail messages earlier this year. On Friday, Mr. Hastert dissembled, to put it charitably, before conceding that he, too, learned about the e-mail messages sometime earlier this year." If Foley was 'semi-outed' as an obvious pedophile and no one did a thing to curb him shouldn't we suspect those people of covering up for more than just political reasons? I now have my suspicions of Rep. John Shimkus who, like pedophiles who infiltrate youth groups in some form of leadership and mentoring position, did nothing. And Rep. John Boehner who should have done something as the leader of the Republican Majority did nothing. And Hastert did nothing. This kind of silence isn't normal for people who aren't pedophiles, or who are in some way closeted practitioners of something they feel they must hide from the public themselves. Pedophiles also find each other as has been proven many times - especially online, and they form groups of like minded and 'similar interest' friends. Based on this strange reactions of so-called normal heterosexual men I think there's much more than just politics here. Posted by: lunaoscura on October 3, 2006 02:26 PMCap'n Sally, if only all the lies are brought out and widely displayed! A few days ago, we somehow were discussing hanging clothes out to dry (for me a childhood memory, though others live in areas where even today you can do that). I do hope all the lies, cover-ups, etc., will be displayed and hung out for the cleansing light of brilliant sunshine. At the same time, I just stumbled across this scary article. Have your salt-shaker handy on this one: Cap'n Sally, in addition to your succinct analysis of the possible impact on Congress of current transits, is there indication of what might be in store in terms of Iran? Challenges to sanity never stop coming these days, do they? Thanks so much for all you do, Cap'n Sally! Posted by: shylurker on October 3, 2006 02:57 PMIran (Feb. 1, 1979, 9:00am Teheran) Nothing is written in stone here Shy, but I always thought it would be 2007 or near 2007 before the US attacked Iran and Iran enters a very dangerous period between Oct. 11, 2006 through to Jan. 7 2007. I think Iran will prove to be much stronger than anticipated. I hope they are weighing all those possibilities. The US timing is off, and will be for as long as the US progressed Mars is Retrograde. If we go to war or attack Iran we will lose. Nearly everyone alive today will have aged and turned into ashes and dust before the US wins another war. We will absolutely be forced in a couple of generations to learn how to live in peace. Look at Germany because we will have to take a page from their book. By Alexander Bolton Local Democrats are responding with irritation, political opponents voice disbelief, and Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) denies making a decision. But the strongest response is likely to come from Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) who views Lieberman’s independent status as an opportunity to press Democratic leaders to restore seniority he lost four years ago. If Lautenberg retrieves seniority accrued during 18 years of Senate service before retiring in 2000, he could leapfrog Lieberman to lead the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee or the Environment and Public Works Committee. http://hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Frontpage/100306/news3.html
by Chris Bowers, Mon Oct 02, 2006 at 08:21:50 PM EST The last ten days have been amazing. Starting with Bill Clinton fighting back against Faux News, we have now seen:
So amid this story about how various mainstream media outlets (among them the St. Petersburg Times, the Miami Herald, and NBC’s Brian Ross) were alerted to the Foley situation months ago and chose not to run with it, is the source of what eventually prodded the capital P Press to pick up the story: Stopsexpredators.blogspot.com. Despite three days of full-court press coverage, this website is still something of a mystery (though one that may be solved by the time I wake up tomorrow). It began in July, and has had just a handful of posts, most of them Foley related. Conservative bloggers like Americanthinker wonder, as do I, what/who is behind SSP—or more to the point, how it/they managed to push this story out. After the intensity of two cycles of New Moon in Virgo, it is time to lighten up and celebrate the cheerier, Arien side of life. Fun and adventure are good overall themes for any ritual celebration on the Full Moon in Aries. Aires is the first sign of the zodiac and rules new beginnings. The Aries Full Moon is the best Full Moon to put some concrete action behind a desire to begin anew! So if you spent these last two Virgo cycles looking deeply at your inner motivations and/or your unhealthy lifestyle choices, and have decided to make some adjustments, this is the best Full Moon to take a leap of faith and release your desire for a new beginning to the universe. http://www.astrowisdom.com/thisfullmoon.htm Posted by: wv on October 3, 2006 05:21 PMSally, excellent! again! Current Concerns - The monthly journal for independent thought, ethical standards and moral responsibility. Depleted Uranium – Far Worse Than 9/11 Imagine a far worse scenario. Terrorists acquire a million pounds of the deadly dust and scatter it in populated areas throughout the U.S. Hundreds of children report symptoms. Many acquire cancer and leukemia, suffering an early and painful death. Huge increases in severe birth defects are reported. Oncologists are overwhelmed. Soccer fields, sand lots and parks, traditional play areas for kids, are no longer safe. People lose their most basic freedom, the ability to go outside and safely breathe. Sounds worse than 9/11? Welcome to Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Jawad Al-Ali (55), director of the Oncology Center at the largest hospital in Basra, Iraq stated, at a recent (2003) conference in Japan: “Two strange phenomena have come about in Basra which I have never seen before. The first is double and triple cancers in one patient. For example, leukemia and cancer of the stomach. We had one patient with 2 cancers – one in his stomach and kidney. Months later, primary cancer was developing in his other kidney--he had three different cancer types. The second is the clustering of cancer in families. We have 58 families here with more than one person affected by cancer. Dr Yasin, a general Surgeon here has two uncles, a sister and cousin affected with cancer. Dr Mazen, another specialist, has six family members suffering from cancer. My wife has nine members of her family with cancer”. Posted by: wv on October 3, 2006 05:58 PMHere's a thot. Actually, they are very competent. But that competence is limited to furthering their own secret agenda, an agenda that seldom coincides with the national interest and is most often at odds with it. What's more, like the legendary crazy fox, they actively encourage the misperception of incompetence; it gives them cover for what they're really up to. Could an "incompetent" administration have gotten itself in power twice, enabled the election of a rubber-stamp Congress and increased its margin of power three times (so far)? Start two major wars, one with lies and waged contrary to expert military recommendations? Engineer passage of massive tax cuts — during wartime — and other welfare for the rich programs? Get other controversial legislation passed, like a Medicare drug bill written by and for the pharmaceutical and insurance industries, the Patriot Act, and Orwellian-titled laws like the Clear Skies Act that achieve the opposite effect? How the Bush team is handling the rain of bad news on Iraq, and what it means for Secretary Rumsfeld's future. Clip The Rumsfeld portrayed by Woodward is bullying and petty. Bush himself doesn't come off much better. The president is folksy and jocular, but incurious to the point of cluelessness. His war cabinet is deeply dysfunctional. Condoleezza Rice is almost a pathetic figure, whining to the president that she can't get Rumsfeld to return her calls. As you read the excerpt that follows, keep in mind some essential context. The administration was not just unlucky. It was almost willfully blind to the risks entailed in invading and occupying a large, traumatized and deeply riven Arab country. Rumsfeld, who pushed aside Rice and Secretary of State Colin Powell to take over even the planning for postwar Iraq, wanted a lean and mean force to get in and get out quickly. This was all well and good as long as American forces could turn over the job of running the country to an effective group of local Iraqis. But the planning for this was hamstrung by disputes over the postwar role of Iraqi exiles. When Iraq began to unravel, the administration—with little debate—lurched in the other direction. The White House installed Paul Bremer as a kind of grand pooh-bah over all of Iraq, but Rumsfeld refused to give him the forces he needed for a long occupation. So I went to Krakow, 70km from Auschwitz, not sure what I would do when the time came to decide if I wanted to make the rest of the trip. ... http://ericfrancis.com/ Posted by: JoannaOregon on October 4, 2006 05:31 AMWednesday, October 4, 2006 | Moon enters Pisces. In the 2004 U.S. presidential election, voters had a choice between two men born to wealth and privilege, who attended the same elite university, joined the same secret society where young men are trained to join the ruling class and were able to run in the election because they were supported by pretty much the same conglomerations of private power. Their programs were similar, consistent with the needs of their primary constituency: wealth and privilege. For contrast, consider Bolivia and Evo Morales' election last December. Voters were familiar with the issues, very real and important ones like national control over natural gas and other resources, which has overwhelming popular support. Indigenous rights, women's rights, land rights and water rights were on the political agenda, among many others. The population chose someone from its own ranks, not a representative of narrow sectors of privilege." YOU GO, Peoples of S America!!! Editorials You would think that with the GOP betrayal of our youth still red hot in the news, the Republican leadership wouldn’t be raising money for a Congressman who last year was outed for allegedly trying to strangle his mistress. But you would be wrong. Pennsylvania Republican Don Sherwood is 64, married and the father of three daughters. But last year, Cynthia Ore, 29, sued Sherwood. It seems Sherwood had been keeping her as his Washington mistress. Ms. Ore says that Sherwood "repeatedly struck her in the face, neck, chest and back, ‘violently yanking’ her hair and repeatedly tried to choke or strangle her. Afterward he would tell her he would never beat her again, then beg her not to leave him." "After news accounts of the incident and police report were published, Mr. Sherwood issued a statement apologizing for the ‘pain and embarrassment’ he caused his supporters and family. He has declined to talk in detail about his relationship with Ms. Ore." http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/analysis/116 Posted by: wv on October 4, 2006 09:05 PMWheels coming OFF the con/repug party for a BIG
Three Different Video Cutaways, 15 Seconds or More Each, Credit Disgraced REPUBLICAN Congressman as Being a Florida DEMOCRAT! Never mind the content of either segment for now. Incredibly, during a total of three different cutaways to video footage of Foley, he was labelled at the bottom of the screen eachtime as "(D-FL)" ! Three different times. In two different segements. Each cutaway about 15 seconds or more. Showing Foley as a DEMOCRAT. Amazing. Just an accident? We report, you decide. UPDATE: Here's quick video clips two of the three times that Foley became made an honorary Fox "Dem"…
UPDATE 11:30pm PT: Though we didn't see the first evening rerun, several folks have reported that Fox "News" scrubbed the "error" by running the video during the late-night rerun of O'Reilly with no text on the bottom of the screen during those sequences. Also, please note we originally had the date of 6/3/06 on the screenshot above, instead of the correct 10/3/06. Once we noticed, we had so many folks linking up to this item, we couldn't get back in to the site at all to make the correction until now! UPDATE 10/4/06 2:04am PT: Confirmed! We just watched the second late-night rerun of O'Reilly, and indeed, the evidence goes down the memory hole as Fox removed the mis-labelled chiron entirely from their later broadcasts without explanation! BTW, we watched both full segments this time, including the one with Florida's own alleged Queen of Voter Fraud, Ann Coulter who swears up and down that Hastert just couldn't have known anything about Foley's problem, he just couldn't have! Screenshot from the rebroadcast, where the "(D-FL)" has been excised from all three video cutaways, is below… UPDATE 10/4/06 2:13am PT: Heheh…Bob Johnson over at dKos, may have the explanation for what happened at Fox today… Posted by: wv on October 4, 2006 09:10 PM

Bhakti, yes...feeling that way in a big way. Sometimes I'm feeling intense energy waves that make me wonder where I am for a second or two. Also, seeing auras, knowing things before they happen, seeing more spirits roaming around, and smelling all kinds of fragrences out of nowhere. Sometimes they are sweet and flowery, a couple of times very foul. Sulfer foul and another scent I have never experienced. The really big thing is a hummingbird practically lives in my yard now and will fly right up to my face, check me out then back to it's routine. I think the human race as a whole are going through some really strange biological and psychological changes due to a number of things happening to our earth. The One Earth Mama is very ill and is trying to shake off the disease. Here's something to think about....The earth is a living organism and just as we have aura's, the earth does as well. Big Mama is sick and all humans are feeling it in some sort of way. Posted by: Cybear on October 4, 2006 10:41 PMHappy Birthday Joanna, Teresa and all other loving, lovable Libras on this board (my dad's BD was 10/9). A theme that I've been noticing lately in my microcosom is people leaving this plan. I have been notified of 3 passing overs in the past 2 days with one more person on the way out (he's being given morphine and has been doing a lot of talking and laughing I hear - he's a Libra of course.) That myspace page was indescribable, Shy. It's a perfect Libra peace/piece. I'm going to send it to everyone. Posted by: Sharon on October 4, 2006 11:22 PMTeresa, you asked about absentee voting; I've been on permanent absentee voting for about 5 years. You get your ballot in the mail, mark it carefully at home, seal it in a special envelope with special instructions, and then mail it back to the county clerk. The thing you want to find out from your county is how absentees are counted; here in San Mateo County (CA), absentee votes are counted using the "Eagle" ballot counting machine, which is basically the same kind of thing used for grading those tests where you mark one of 4 little boxes. I worked with the Eagles as a poll worker and consider them reliable and secure - and I'm as paranoid as they come when it comes to election methods. I've just done the training on the new e-voting we are moving to this election. As a confirmed skeptic, I was the one in the class asking every question about security, confidentiality, reliability, backups, paper trail, etc. Every one of my questiosn was answered to my satisfaction - but of course, we are required to have a paper trail in CA. The machines are called E-Slate, and you have to accept a printed paper version of the ballot before your vote is officially cast. When I asked about recounts, I was told that all recounts would be done from the paper ballot rather than rely on any of the four electronic repositories of vote tallies. Thank goddess we aren't on Diebold! And, as another of the Libras on the board (though primarily a lurker), many thanks for the happy wishes! Mine's next Tuesday. Posted by: baraka on October 5, 2006 12:33 AMMe too bhakti!, Thank you for such a thorough answer, baraka. I'll call the election board tomorrow and find out how they are counted. We can show each other and the world that what the Bush administration claims is their mission is not ours. It’s all George Soros’s fault. This is the story behind the "dirty trick" theory being peddled by Katherine Harris, Gingrich again, Hugh Hewitt, and apparently now being peddled on Fox News. Whenever the right runs into trouble, it seems their first move is to play a game of "Six Degrees of George Soros": What’s the fewest number of moves we can make to blame this on George. You can imagine them testing out various theories: How about this one: Soros’s operatives in Eastern Europe starting in the 1980s bred a super-race of sexually irresistible young men, taught them perfect English, had them placed as congressional pages and programmed them to tempt Mark Foley. Hmm, nice try, but a little more Blofeld than Soros. So get back to the drawing board guys: Connect Mark Foley to George Soros in six moves or less! Tuesday 03 October 2006 They are such liars. And no, I am not speaking only of the dissembling GOP House leaders led by Speaker Dennis Hastert who, out of naked political calculation, covered up for one of their own in the sordid teen stalking case of Rep. Mark Foley. Call me old school, but I am still more concerned with the Republicans molesting Lady Liberty while pretending to be guarding the nation's security, an assignment which they have totally botched. The news about the Foley coverup, while important as yet another example of extreme hypocrisy on the part of the Republican virtues police, should not be allowed to obscure the latest evidence of administration deceit as to its egregious ineptness in protecting the nation. On Monday, a State Department spokesman conceded that then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice had indeed been briefed in July 2001 by George Tenet, then-director of the CIA, about the alarming potential for an Al Qaeda attack, as Bob Woodward has reported in his aptly named new book, "State of Denial." Posted by: judigem on October 5, 2006 06:05 PM re Bill Moyers program: "It's a dizzying scope of perfidy and politics that boggles the imagination, and although Jack Abramoff and Tom DeLay have been brought down, the system remains as vulnerable as ever," says Bill Moyers. "The scale of corruption still coming to light dwarfs anything since Watergate. In one sense it's the age-old tale of greed, but greed encouraged now by the way our system works. Deep in the plea agreements of Jack Abramoff and his cronies is the admission that they conspired to use campaign contributions to bribe politicians; campaign finance is at the core of the corruption. They took great pains to cover their tracks, and they might have pulled it off except for a handful of honest people, and the work of some enterprising print reporters, Senate investigators, and the ethics team at the department of justice. Mark Foley: Sept. 8, 1954, Newton, Mass. Posted by: Beasley on October 6, 2006 04:07 AMMarta, I'm going with the positive that things will shift with this election. Of course, one can't easily predict with the use of Symbols, but one can try!! The Sun on the day of voting is Scorpio 16: A Girl's Face Breaking into a Smile - I'm hoping the right side of the face (excuse the lopsided pun!) is smiling and not the wrong side (i.e. THEM). Also, the nodes. I'm really hoping the Symbols of the nodes come through. The South Node is on Virgo 25: A Flag at Half Mast in Front of a Public Building and the North Node is on Pisces 25: The Purging of the Priesthood. This bodes well for chucking them out, but it could mean that just some of them are chucked out. However, the flag at half mast certainly does look like the 'end of an era'. Pluto is squaring the nodes from Sag 26: A Flag Bearer in a Battle - interesting... "flag waving" - feeling like one has to have the guts to get out front and declare one's position and beliefs, often without the usual ammunition to 'fire back' or 'defend' one's self. It can feel like one's putting themselves in the line of fire because of a cause. Mercury is (uh oh) retrograde on Scorpio 19: A Parrott Listening and Then Talking - this often shows scandal, gossip, phone tapping?? etc - but this kind of thing is fairly standard with an election. Jupiter is on Scorpio 27: A Military Brass Band Marches Noisly Through the Streets. This follows on from the Pluto degree, really... there there's flag waving and here there's more and then there's the flag at half mast of the south node. Neptune is on Aquarius 18: A Man UnMasked at a Masquerade... praying....
I've said it before, but I'm going to say it again (just in case I'm right!! :) ) - Condoleeza Rice and Dick Cheney are on their way OUT. I can't see either of them surviving much longer - and, of course, Rumsfeld. What horrible individuals they all are!!! Flag at Half Mast - I say - and The Purging of the Priesthood - can't come fast enough. Transiting Uranus has been pointing a thorny finger (with a quincunx) at his natal Pluto. Transiting Uranus is now squaring his natal Jupiter at 13 Gemini. Posted by: Beasley on October 6, 2006 04:38 AM* Molly's Astrology Astrological forecast for Oct 2006 As above, so below. This is a basic premise of astrology. Not that the planets & stars command us or influence us by way of cosmic rays, but that they are signs & signals that we can read to get a sense of the world around us. Astrologers have been practicing & perfecting this art for millennia. As I look at the calendar for Oct, I see that things are getting a little clearer since Sept. We are still in the middle of a t-square, as Jupiter occupies a space in the sky 90° from both Saturn/Neptune, which oppose each other thru next Summer. In Sept, the Jupiter/Neptune square is exact. In Oct, the Jupiter/Saturn square is exact. We can think of this as an energy transfer in a way. We can take the insights (& the stupid ideas) that we came up with when Jupiter squared Neptune, & throw them up against the wall of reality as Jupiter squares Saturn this month. ... http://north-node.com/articles/october-2006 Posted by: JoannaOregon on October 6, 2006 04:45 AM* …The giveaway is whether Saturn (establishment, govt) is running with or in opposition to the outer planets. Simple as that. Because of their relative speeds, the outer planets (OP) spend most of their time within a 180° arc, often within a 120° arc, with only relatively brief periods when Uranus is outside of it. If you take all the rest of the planets out of the chart, you see history developing itself in a cozy OP nest—a bowl or even a bundle chart. Put back all the other planets and you hardly notice the effect, because they move around so fast & clutter up the view. Put back just one, Saturn, & you see a rhythm of periods in history when Saturn is outside of that bowl, & much of that as the handle of a bucket chart. During thee times, the establishment is bucking the tide of history. The majority of aspects made by Saturn are hard & conflicting, primarily because of the preponderances of squares, quincunxes, & oppositions. Conversely, when Saturn is within the OP nest, the additive trend of the aspects it makes is supportive, because of the preponderance of the conjunction, semi-sextile, sextile, & trine. If these were all you had to deal with, you’d have already noticed all this long ago. But it is not the habit of astrologers to be so semi-selective. It has been traditional to look at conjunction cycles of one or two planets as history-shapers. That concept has been around since al-Kindi & Abu Ma’shar & was shaped by Aristotle. But a tide, historical or otherwise, is not a single event but a flow of events, & that is what you want to look for. When you throw all the planets in, the self-cancelling clutter of the shorter-cycle planets obscures the mixed rhythms that Saturn & the outer planets make that both depict the shape of history & yet are still within a single human lifespan, within the tangible range of human choice. In other words, you can see which way progress lies—even if it isn’t popular, or in power, or even appealing at the moment—& you can take the right side. Perhaps “right” may be too charged a word, but you can take the side of history & progress, such as it is, for sure. … http://www.astrococktail.com/newsletter2.html Not to be too literal, Lynda, but flag at half mast usually means the death of a public figure, or a tragedy involving many deaths... But like many other claims asserted by Bush adminsitration and Pentagon officials regarding Iran and Iraq, it seems there is just one small problem with this charge: it doesn't appear to be true. From Today's edition of the Washington Post: British Find No Evidence Of Arms Traffic From Iran ON THE IRAQ-IRAN BORDER -- Since late August, British commandos in the deserts of far southeastern Iraq have been testing one of the most serious charges leveled by the United States against Iran: that Iran is secretly supplying weapons, parts, funding and training for attacks on U.S.-led forces in Iraq. [...] There's just one thing. "I suspect there's nothing out there," the commander, Lt. Col. David Labouchere, said last month, speaking at an overnight camp near the border. "And I intend to prove it." Other senior British military leaders spoke as explicitly in interviews over the previous two months. Britain, whose forces have had responsibility for security in southeastern Iraq since the war began, has found nothing to support the Americans' contention that Iran is providing weapons and training in Iraq, several senior military officials said. Before becoming pope the then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger enforced a "secret Vatican decree which sheltered the perpetrators and silenced the victims", the BBC’s Sex crmes and the Vatican claimed. The decree was contained in a 1962 document Crimen Sollicitationis, which advised senior clergymen how to handle priests who "solicit or provoke the penitent toward impure and obscene matters", according to a BBC translation. Moreover, the original document imposed an oath of secrecy on victims, witnesses and those probing abuse claims; threatening that anyone breaking it would be excommunicated, so the program claimed. Father Tom Doyle, a canon solicitor reportedly sacked by the Vatican after criticising its handling of child abuse claims, told Panorama that the document was "an explicit written policy to cover up cases of child sexual abuse by the clergy, to punish those who would call attention to these crimes by the churchmen." http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/print.asp?ID=5256 Posted by: wv on October 6, 2006 07:08 PMhttp://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/linkset/2005/04/11/LI2005041100879.html Froomkin writes about our own Keith today. The person known today as Ann Coulter was born Jeremy Levinsohn in the village in NY in 1960. His parents were typical latte-drinking liberals, religiously con, but socially & politically radical. His father taught Russian Literature at CUNY & his mother was a social worker. His childhood friend Rodger Mihalot described him, “The Levinsohns were nice people, but his father was distant, so Jeremy seemed to seek a strong male figure in his life. Altho they were Jewish, he often hung out at our church, & really seemed to spend a lot of time with Fr Donatella Nowunn. I also think he was really looking to rebel against his overly liberal parents. Otherwise he was a typical kid, he liked to play cowboy, sailor & gladiator a lot. Denied playing in the major leagues because of his race, he later went on to become the first African American coach in major league baseball. After his retirement he became a tireless promotor for Kansas City, Negro League Baseball and the game in general. This week, we heard about and saw the horror of what happened to the Amish children in PA. And we heard about and saw the abuse of power in our congress and the White House. And we heard about the death of more and more US soldiers and Iraqis. And there is Bob Woodward’s book, and on and on and on. And here on this blog (as well as on others) many of these things were written about. And there’s anger and frustration and fear, and we keep wondering how much longer we can hold on, and when we will come out of the mess going on in our country and the world. Now, there are glimmers of hope that the tide is turning. There seems to be a momentum building. In the midst of all that is being revealed - and perhaps this is part of the momentum - from those Amish families came one of the most powerful expressions of love and forgiveness that I have witnessed in my lifetime. And yet its power and impact got hardly a mention. I wonder about the counterbalance to all this negativity. How can we acknowledge the power and grace and beauty of the love and forgiveness those Amish families expressed? How can we acknowledge and honor and expand any expression of light shining through and breaking through the darkness and density? Through our thoughts and our spoken and written words that express a similar vibration. From Dr David Hawkins: *** "ONE person vibrating at level 500 (LOVE) can counterbalance 750,000 people of a lower vibration! “ (Anger, Fear, Shame, Guilt and Apathy are below 200.) ***“Your choices of action may be limited—but your choices of thought are not.” And Today’s Abraham-Hicks quote: ***“You cannot be joyful without spreading your joy. You cannot be sad without spreading your sadness. You cannot be well without spreading your wellness. You cannot be sick without spreading your sickness. You cannot be poor without spreading your poverty. You cannot be prosperous without spreading your prosperity. Whatever you be, you exude to the ends of the Universe. The entire Universe benefits by that which you be.” And I would add, “you cannot be loving and forgiving without spreading your love and forgiveness”. Then came Mark Foley. The drip-drip-drip of scandal surrounding the former Congressman from Florida, which became a deluge this week, now threatens to sink Republican hopes of keeping control of Congress, says the NEWSWEEK poll out today. And that was the good news for the GOP. More worrisome still, the Foley fiasco is jeopardizing the party’s monopoly on faith and power. For the first time since 2001, the NEWSWEEK poll shows that more Americans trust the Democrats than the GOP on moral values and the war on terror. Fully 53 percent of Americans want the Democrats to win control of Congress next month, including 10 percent of Republicans, compared to just 35 percent who want the GOP to retain power. I have noticed throughout all these GOP scandals, like the Abu Graib and Gitmo scandal, and now the page scandal, is the idea of control. There is this tendency within the GOP to torture and molest those that don't have the same rights and privileges they have. In this sense, they truly are the "bullies" on the playground that pick out the weakest. Posted by: Travieso on October 8, 2006 02:53 PM

He said Thursday the government will always cover up its mistakes if it operates in secret and that it was up to journalists to expose the truth. "Why does the government need a list of my phone calls?" he asked. "And what business does a democracy have running secret prisons? ... Do you believe that anyone would have known about these secret prisons or what was going on in Abu Ghraib if it had been left to the government to announce it? In July, Hastert was hospitalized at Bethesda Naval Hospital for cellulitis, a bacterial skin infection. In the Feb. 7, 2003 issue of AIDS Treatment News, doctors reported that they saw "a large increase in aggressive, antibiotic-resistant 'staph' (Staphylococcus aureus) skin infections in gay men in some areas -- and a separate epidemic in certain prisons. It seems that people like Foley are going to extremes to live in denial, right down to taking wives and having children. Suppressed feelings and emotions that cannot be denied. There are probably many more like Foley, who publicly walk the walk and talk the talk on morality and so-called family values, but behind closed doors lead a very different sort of life. Sunday I woke up at dawn and saw her again, a beautiful silvery orb floating high above the pink and purple waters. President Pissypants Bush is crying about Woodward’s book: Disloyalty Some of his anger is directed at former aides who helped Watergate journalist Bob Woodward paint a lurid portrait of a dysfunctional, chaotic administration in his new book, "State of Denial." In the obsessively private Bush clan, talking out of school is the ultimate act of disloyalty, and Bush feels betrayed from within. "He's ticked off big-time," said a well-informed source, "even if what they said was the truth." Subsequent reports from the US Geological Survey (USGS) place the magnitude of the tremor at 4.2 on the Richter scale. The difference in the reports is due to the fact that the USGS assessment, being somewhat later, was able to incorporate a larger number of sensor reports in its preparation. The USGS data identifies the time and location of the blast as 9 October at 01:35:27 (GMT) and centred at 41.311—N, 129.114—E at a depth 0-1 km. This places the site approximately 42 km northwest of Kilchu, in the province of North Hamgyong, on the remote slopes of Mant'ap-san Mountain. This coincides with reports that first appeared during 2005 of suspicious tunnelling and construction activities in the area. Subsequent reports during the past month indicate that the North Koreans had excavated a 700 m-long horizontal tunnel under Mant'ap-san. Although details are tentative, initial and unconfirmed South Korean reports indicate that the test was a fission device with a yield of .55 kT. By comparison the nuclear bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima yielded approximately 12.5 kT. The figure of .55 kT, however, seems too low given the 4.2 register on the Richter scale. This could suggest - depending upon the geological make-up of the test site - a yield of 2-12 kT. If, however, the lower yield is correct, it would suggest that the test had been a "pre- or post-detonation" event (ie a failure), as it had been anticipated that North Korea's first nuclear test would have a significantly higher yield Posted by: Pat C on October 10, 2006 02:20 PMHAPPY BIRTHDAY Tim!! This will make another theft that much more difficult to spin. C) Tell people that it's very likely that the GOP will "win" despite its vast unpopularity, so that they (the people) won't become demoralized by their apparent defeat. D) Urge everyone to monitor the process in his/her own locale as carefully as possible. Get visuals, as w/ a video camera. Take careful note of any monkey business. E) If you spot improprieties, or have a problem at the polls, be sure to call 1-866-OUR-VOTE, and contact the EDA (address above), and tell them everything. Keep a written record of your experience. Posted by: on October 10, 2006 08:23 PMhttp://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/101006J.shtml Red October: Killing the Truth in Moscow Early October can be dismal in Moscow. The short, harsh summer is over, the brief and beautiful refreshment of September has passed, yet the snow - in which the city has its deepest life - has not yet come. Instead there is often miasma: gray days pocked with rain or fog, vague and ragged days, neither autumn nor winter but suspended in a limbo state. They say last Saturday was just such a day in Moscow: tepid, damp, fog through the morning, clouds all afternoon, a limp breeze pushing at the torpor. The muffled sunlight would have just begun draining toward night when a young man - dressed in black, carrying a 9mm Makarov pistol - approached the nondescript apartment building at 18/13 Lesnaya Street. His target was in sight: a woman, early middle age, laden with groceries, walking toward the door. A few stray lines of the setting sun might have split the clouds as he moved toward her - or perhaps it stayed dim, miasmic. He wouldn't have noticed in any case: the door was open, they were inside, the pistol was out, he fired - a few shots to the body, one to the head; the woman fell. Her life was gone; the job was done. He dropped the pistol, as he'd been taught to do, and left the scene. It was, they say, about 4:30 in the afternoon. That's how Russia's leading journalist, Anna Politkovskaya, came to die on Saturday. Many details of the death are still unclear - and as the Russian authorities launch their usual "thorough investigation" of yet another reporter's murder, no doubt the details will grow more and more muddled, more vague and ragged, until the chain of accountability leading back to the real culprits, the instigators of the hit, is lost in the murk. All we will be left with is this stark, basic fact: one of the world's most fearless voices for truth and human decency has been silenced forever. More... The problem with voting on whether habeas corpus is dead is we lose no matter how we vote. If a majority votes we lost habeas corpus (and our democracy) and we don't riot in the streets then they don't lose anything. Shows that war isn't very pretty even though CNN never showed the actual bullet impact. Now the pols are trying to get CNN pulled from embeddedship or whatever. Hmmmm Why we aired the sniper video Last night, we ran a controversial piece produced by our Baghdad correspondent Michael Ware. The backstory is that through intermediaries Michael had been communicating with Ibrahim Al-Shimary, a shadowy leader and spokesman for the Islamic Army. Michael had sent him a series of questions concerning the insurgency in Iraq and its motives. He was surprised when he received two vid-eota-pes in response. We aired portions of both last night. One had Al-Shimary himself on camera -- his face electronically concealed -- responding to Michael's questions. The second tape surprised us even more. It documented 10 incidents of insur-gent snipers attacking U.S. military personnel. To be clear, insurgents shot the tape themselves. This group has released similar ta-pes in the past. Indeed, you can find them on the Internet. But this tape uniquely included audio from the sniper team as they selected targets, waited for their opportunities and then praised Allah as they made their escapes. http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/anderson.cooper.360/blog/ scroll down Posted by: Shadowhawk on October 21, 2006 10:03 PMhttp://www.wytryski-xxx-pierdolenie.og.wolomin.pl http://www.caseiras-brasil.modelos-sexo.com http://www.adolescentes-pajeandose.modelos-sexo.com http://www.dupenka-najarana.erw.kepno.pl http://www.cycki-porno-live-live.wer.pisz.pl http://www.cycki-ladacznica-wytryski.wer.pisz.pl lvurrtgi http://wdvntsaa.com dacpaolp xuhgspal vblhmgul sihxoaxx Posted by: qjsafobc on August 24, 2007 05:48 PMBecause we don't think about future generations, they will never forget us.
