The dieing doesn't stop as we take a holiday. MSM has lost yet more brave journalists WASHINGTON - Two British journalists working for CBS News were among four people killed when a car bomb hit a U.S. military patrol in Baghdad on Monday.
Still thousands finds themselves benumbed in the humid tropics of Indonesia where 5000 have perished in a 6.3 earthquake during the new moon. Powerful images as usual and a marvelous way with the words. I love this last paragraph - "Whence came these problems, they came from the GOP Big Oil, Big Bible, big profit, the Republican controlled House and Senate, the stacked Judiciary, the hackable voting machines. This is where George Bush's leadership has led America." "We're taking it all" and America is finally becoming sober, those who are paying attention and talking it all in, anyway. Posted by: on May 29, 2006 11:33 PM"way with the words" is what came of editing "way with a pen" to "way with words." Thought I'd identify myself on this very sobering day. I don't know about you, but I don't feel like celebrating, although it is always possible to enjoy the beauty in our lives, the perfection of creation, while hurting for those who are suffering. Posted by: Jase on May 30, 2006 12:08 AMGreat and powerful article Morgana and a much needed splash of cold water. Oh, by the way, the incident is reported as 7:15am in Hadith (just 30 minutes after your sunrise chart.) Memorial Day is a time to remember those who have died in our lives, those we knew and loved. It's a time to honor their lives and the sacrifice they made in various wars. I've never felt happy about those sacrifices, because I've always felt something must be done about "war" being the answer. We idealize and glamorize war, when it's nothing but an outpouring of testosterone. We don't fight for "freedom" and "glory" we send our young people to fight and die so the "gun runners" and "war mongers" can make money. War!! It's been said "that it looks like hell, smells like hell and is hell." There are and have been through all the wars a thousand, nay thousands of Hadithas. I heard a BBC reporter say today "the more Americans become sick of this war, the less they want to hear about it. Americans don't want to know about Haditha, or the people who have died, or roadside bombs." We couldn't be more wrong headed. We need to know, we need to look at the blood of the innocents in Iraq and our own. We sent young men and women to the Middle East and they are returning broken bodies, broken minds and murderers to us. "Whence came these problems, they came from the GOP Big Oil, Big Bible, big profit, the Republican controlled House and Senate, the stacked Judiciary, the hackable voting machines. This is where George Bush's leadership has led America." Morgana's right, we not only have to stand and witness these atrocities, we must continue to speak. Pat C's link -- the boomantribune (you beat me to it, Pat) exemplifies the viscious games being played with the lives of those who pay the bills both literally and with their lives. This too http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12952860/is the height of arrogance, the depth of depravity. This cabal continues to march willy-nilly over anything sacred, everything good. "President George W. Bush has bestowed on his intelligence czar, John Negroponte, broad authority, in the name of national security, to excuse publicly traded companies from their usual accounting and securities-disclosure obligations. Notice of the development came in a brief entry in the Federal Register, dated May 5, 2006, that was opaque to the untrained eye." Little by little our country has been disassembled. Those who died, giving their lives for what they believed was a noble cause will have their day, and they will shame those who carelessly and cruelly used them. That's my dream Sharon and it's a possibility I believe in. I think and wonder where we would be if all that "war" energy had been or could be applied to this planet, a different way to resolve differences. I think of how much I have to do and there are never enough hours in the day and I'm just one person. I think it would be a long time before we ran out of projects and things to accomplish. I don't think it's an impossible dream, as far as satisfying our violent tendencies, it seems Mother Earth keeps us pretty busy with that one. Posted by: Sally on May 30, 2006 03:49 AMMorgana. Kudos. Pluto affirms what we knew as the government of United States of America and the Constitution no longer exists in the form we knew it. . nor will it ever again. We here on AW know it. It will be some time after Pluto gets out of Sag before the rest of the country fully realizes it. Did anyone lay flowers for the death of America on this memorial day especially? It seems most appropriate to me. ___ I attended a memorial day concert full of John Phillips Sousa and other "victorious" music this evening. And it occurred to me, the myth of the They wait for us older generations to die off, to die off with our memories of democracy and the rights and freedoms the Constitution granted us and which we lived under for 200 years. The younger generations will not remember or have knowledge of what used to be. And then their subterranean treason will be complete. They finally will have a victory, not against a foreign enemy, but against their own country and people. I think it's appropriate to mourn America on this Memorial day.
Powerful Morgana, as powerful as a new moon with a dark face. Posted by: M. on May 30, 2006 04:02 AMThanks Morgana, for the time and effort you gave to bring us this piece about our own darkness... and indeed if we listen we can hear the voices of the dead and the dying... today has been a gruesome day... the feeling of death is palpable. "The HM Mars in the 6th House of Military, Wars, and Armies squares Saturn in Leo in the 9th House of Justice, the HM Mars was 11 Taurus a maddened bull, and square Neptune the planet of illusion. There you have your horrendously violent act and persuant obsfucation, revelation and now the judgement." Yes, one can see it all so clearly, with your guidance... even in the darkness... aahh yes, the judgement... for our children, for our troops psyched up to a fever pitch before they ever entered Iraq... told that Saddam was responsible for events of 9/11... the blood of those helpless Iraqis in Haditha is upon Dubya's hands... and Rummy's and Cheney's... but it will be the young men who will be charged... they will pay... Aahhh, sweet sweet Sharon... what a vision you bring us... how I hope you are right, though I fear we have more than 100 years to get there... Cap'n Sally, I trust the wedding went smoothly... and you have added one more to your growing loving family... blessings and light on you and yours... Pallas glad you're back --- look forward to hearing all the wonders of your trip... don't post often, but read every chance I get. Where is Shylurker? Light to all, The charts I listed in the last thread may be viewed here. bob Posted by: bob on May 30, 2006 05:40 AMTwo thoughts, Pallas: -One, of course you are correct that this US Govt. will never be the same again. This government. There is nothing, however, about Pluto that says we can't just tear it all down and start over fresh from scratch, which one way or another I think is going to happen next decade anyhow. There's just too much corruption at the fundamental points for federal reform to even be feasible at this point. I say just tear it all down, ship Bush and Co off to The Hague for trial, and let's deal with things on a state and local/regional level for awhile, where government is still close enough to the people to be adequately scrutinized by us. Do we even need a national federal govt? If we do, then perhaps it would be better off looking more like the EU than the current unwieldly monstrosity. -Two, If a total "generational disconnect" from the cultural memories of our history is a victory to be celebrated, it won't be by any of the elites in power today. I believe they are going to watch nearly everything they have stolen from the people slip from their grasp, and perhaps even crumble away into to dust, as more and more of the lies they have covered up are exposed. If I have any part in it all, I'll be teaching the next generations about the crimes and treasons committed by the Bush family and friends. I'll do my part to make sure that the past is remembered as it should be, not as the extremists want the story to be told, to their benefit. Posted by: NEOBuckeye on May 30, 2006 06:04 AMTo me, this says it all. No matter what the party name, the underlying essence of "empire versus earth" remains the same. Beware, the empire builders are currently morphing to the democratic name because of their current unpopularity. Empire organizes by domination at all levels, from relations among nations to relations among family members. Empire brings fortune to the few, condemns the majority to misery and servitude, suppresses the creative potential of all, and appropriates much of the wealth of human societies to maintain the institutions of domination. Earth Community, by contrast, organizes by partnership, unleashes the human potential for creative co-operation, and shares resources and surpluses for the good of all. Supporting evidence for the possibilities of Earth Community comes from the findings of quantum physics, evolutionary biology, developmental psychology, anthropology, archaeology, and religious mysticism. It was the human way before Empire; we must make a choice to re-learn how to live by its principles. Developments distinctive to our time are telling us that Empire has reached the limits of the exploitation that people and Earth will sustain. A mounting perfect economic storm born of a convergence of peak oil, climate change, and an imbalanced U.S. economy dependent on debts it can never repay is poised to bring a dramatic restructuring of every aspect of modern life. We have the power to choose, however, whether the consequences play out as a terminal crisis or an epic opportunity. The Great Turning is not a prophecy. It is a possibility. http://www.yesmagazine.org/article.asp?ID=1463 Posted by: kiwijeanie on May 30, 2006 08:05 AMJeanie- I know this site focuses primarily on the US, and I very much enjoy reading each new chapter as it appears, but I'm also intrigued by what has been taking place in NZ. I've been watching the political developments, and am curious that NZ sits at the end of the ring of fire. I also recall an article recently by Marjorie Orr who felt that NZ, a cardinal country like Australia and the US, will face similar challenges in the decades ahead. What chart(s) do you use or have you seen used for NZ? Have you seen any articles about NZ astrology, given the current world political context? It seems that right-wing and corporate, political and economic, forces in both the U.S. and Australia, and to a lesser extent, Great Britain, are making a determined effort to undermine Helen Clark's Labour party and destabilize the fragile coalition government. And although Dr. Brash is reportedly quite a likable guy, his politics are very much aligned with the Republicans in the US, and may be even more to the right in some respects. Al Gore was the nearly man of US politics, the wooden Clinton sidekick who never made it to the top job. But now he's back with a mission to save the planet - and this time he's passionate. Not cute or funny, just flame-bait. Dobbs: Bush, Congress tell working folk to go to hell George W. Bush's approval ratings have slumped to the lowest of his presidency. The approval rating for Congress is even lower, and nearly three-quarters of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. But what is our government doing about that? The president is staying the course in Iraq and apparently demanding little of his generals to create a new, far more effective strategy for urgent success. Of course, he also wants a guest-worker program and amnesty of millions of illegal aliens. And Congress, faced with midterm elections in just over five months, is intent on giving the president what he wants and telling working men and women and their families, American citizens all, to go to hell. Illegal aliens are more important to this Congress than securing our borders and our ports, more important than those legal immigrants who have waited in line and who follow the law. The Senate has added to the litany of lunacy that makes up what it calls reform: Illegal aliens would only have to pay back taxes on three of the past five years, they will not be prosecuted for felonies such as identity theft or purchasing or using fraudulent Social Security cards, and unlike millions of visa holders who have to leave the country to have them renewed, they may simply remain in the United States while this Congress and this president give away all the benefits and privileges of American citizenship. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/05/23/dobbs.may24/index.html Posted by: Cybear on May 31, 2006 02:41 PMhttp://www.salon.com/news/feature/2006/05/31/armstrong/index.html The Blogfather Jerome Armstrong introduced Democrats to the Net. Says Greg Sargent: The whole fracas got started when blogs called Liberal Oasis and The Great Society noticed that CNN’s report included a map which it attributed to the Council of Conservative Citizens. The CCC is a group that’s been described by the Anti-Defamation League and many other sources as a white supremacist group formed to succeed the segregationist white Citizens’ Councils of the 1960s. Trent Lott took a bunch of heat for speaking before them a few years back, you may recall. Con't Council of Conservative Citizens --- CCC sounds like... States are adopting rules that make it hard, and financially perilous, for nonpartisan groups to register new voters. They have adopted new rules for maintaining voter rolls that are likely to throw off many eligible voters, and they are imposing unnecessarily tough ID requirements. Florida recently reached a new low when it actually bullied the League of Women Voters into stopping its voter registration efforts in the state. The Legislature did this by adopting a law that seems intended to scare away anyone who wants to run a voter registration drive. Since registration drives are particularly important for bringing poor people, minority groups and less educated voters into the process, the law appears to be designed to keep such people from voting. It imposes fines of $250 for every voter registration form that a group files more than 10 days after it is collected, and $5,000 for every form that is not submitted — even if it is because of events beyond anyone’s control, like a hurricane. The Florida League of Women Voters, which is suing to block the new rules, has decided it cannot afford to keep registering new voters in the state as it has done for 67 years. If a volunteer lost just 16 forms in a flood, or handed in a stack of forms a day late, the group’s entire annual budget could be put at risk. In Washington, a new law prevents people from voting if the secretary of state fails to match the information on their registration form with government databases. There are many reasons that names, Social Security numbers and other data may not match, including typing mistakes. The state is supposed to contact people whose data does not match, but the process is too tilted against voters. Congress is considering a terrible voter ID requirement as part of the immigration reform bill. Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky, introduced an amendment to require all voters to present a federally mandated photo ID. Even people who have been voting for years would need to get a new ID to vote in 2008. Millions of people without drivers’ licenses, including many elderly people and city residents, might fail to do so, and be ineligible to vote. The amendment has been blocked so far, but voting-rights advocates worry that it could reappear. More…. Dobbs is not the first and it won't be the last to use this kind of propaganda tactic. From Wikipedia: "... Dobbs has often stated that the United States is becoming balkanized and immigrants and/or illegal aliens are refusing to assimilate. He has been critical of demonstrations of ethnic or national pride by them, stating, "I don't think that we should have any flag flying in this country except the flag of the United States", and "I don't think there should be a St Patrick's Day. I don't care who you are. I think we ought to be celebrating what is common about this country, what we enjoy as similarities as people." He has been accused of inciting xenophobia by some such as Libertarian journalist James K. Glassman of the American Enterprise Institute[3]. Lou Dobbs Tonight frequently features related issues under the ongoing billboards "Exporting America" and "Broken Borders." The newscast often couples references to illegal aliens with the word "invasion." Dobbs dismisses the allegedly excessive or misguided concern for language as "political correctness" in the segment billboarded "P.C. Nation." Lou Dobbs is a fascist tool. One job of journalism is to inform the public about what our political leaders are doing. In this case, we failed. The Senate bill's sponsors didn't publicize its full impact on legal immigration, and we didn't fill the void. It's safe to say that few Americans know what the bill would do because no one has told them. Indeed, I suspect that many senators who voted for the legislation don't have a clue as to the potential overall increase in immigration. Democracy doesn't work well without good information. Here is a classic case. It is interesting to contrast these immigration projections with a recent survey done by the Pew Research Center. The poll asked whether the present level of legal immigration should be changed. The response: 40 percent favored a decrease, 37 percent would hold it steady and 17 percent wanted an increase. There seems to be scant support for a doubling. If the large immigration projections had been in the news, would the Senate have done what it did? Possibly, though I doubt it. But if it had, senators would have had to defend what they were doing as sound public policy. That's the real point. They would have had to debate whether such high levels of immigration are good or bad for the country rather than adopting a measure whose largest consequences are unintended or not understood. What arguments would they have used? More... Posted by: Pat C on May 31, 2006 05:03 PMUS Mandatory MILITARY DRAFT 18-42 quietly snuck in! As described at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c109:H.R.4752.IH: on February 14, 2006, Congressman Charles Rangel (NY) introduced a bill (Universal National Service Act of 2006 - HR 4752 IH) aiming at drafting everyone - men and women alike - from the ages of 18 to 42 into the military for a minimum period of 2 years. Or to quote the bill: "To provide for the common defense by requiring all persons in the United States, including women, between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes." The House is to convene on June 6 (06/06/06] to debate and possibly adopt this bill, that is, unless a vast public outcry succeeds in derailing this insanity, which you can do by writing a letter of protest to your congress person through http://www.conservativeusa.org/mega-cong.htm or http://www.webslingerz.com/jhoffman/congress-email.html Jo Amen! By Mike Whitney 05/30/06 "Information Clearing House" As details of the atrocities in Haditha continue to surface in the media, it is clear that George Bush is either completely divorced from reality or simply incapable of grasping the catastrophe he has created. In fact, he is as culpable in the deaths of the “24 unarmed Iraqis” as if he had put the gun to their heads’ and shot them one by one. The International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg established the model for prosecuting war crimes. Justice Robert H. Jackson ruled that military aggression constitutes the “supreme crime” because “it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole”. Jackson’s findings form a direct link between George Bush and the “execution-style” murders of Iraqi civilians in Haditha. Until Bush provides a credible justification for the invasion, he must be held directly responsible for the war crimes perpetrated on the Iraqi people. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article13421.htm Laura Rozen at war and piece May 31, 2006 AP/CNN: "Rice: U.S. ready to talk with Iran on nuclear issue." The United States is prepared to join other nations in holding direct talks with Iran on its nuclear program if Iran first agrees to stop disputed nuclear activities that the West fears could lead to a bomb, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday. "To underscore our commitment to a diplomatic solution and to enhance prospects for success, as soon as Iran fully and verifiably suspends its enrichment and reprocessing activities, the United States will come to the table," Rice said in remarks prepared for delivery at the State Department. The Swiss ambassador to the United States was called to the State Department earlier Wednesday to receive a copy of Rice's remarks for transmission to Iran, U.S. officials said. The United States has had no diplomatic ties with Iran and few contacts at all with its government since Islamic radicals took over the U.S. Embassy in 1979 and held diplomats there for more than a year. Background here and here. I guess Hagel's office was mistaken about the press release. More from Reuters, and the Post. Transcript of Rice's remarks. Update: From Chris Nelson: Expect an announcement soon that the President has authorized Secretary of State Condi Rice to join directly in the EU-3 talks with Iran...under the condition that Iran agree to a verifiable halt to its uranium reprocessing activities. Experts say not to expect Iran to immediately respond in the positive...in fact, it will likely be a strong negative. But they also predict that a counter-offer will come within days...basically throwing a “temporary suspension pending developments” offer onto the table. The US moves and anticipated Iranian counter-moves come in the context of progress at the UN Security Council on a resolution with Chinese and Russian support which seems headed in the general direction desired by the US, but with the critical compromise that NO possible use of force would be authorized in the event of failure. Still being negotiated, sources say, is whether the latest resolution would contain language also banning economic sanctions, as has been demanded by both Moscow and Beijing. In any event, the US decision is seen as throwing the ball back into Iran’s court, after weeks of the US being seen as the stumbling block through its refusal to agree to direct talks. Rice and other officials started calling key Capitol Hill and other players in Washington last night, and through the morning. Initial response is favorable, to quote one, “this will bring us into line with the EU-3 and put the onus on Iran to respond.” That last clause is key. That Iran and not the US be seen as the stumbling block. http://www.warandpiece.com/blogdirs/004298.html links within cross your fingers everyone Posted by: Jo on May 31, 2006 07:33 PMFrom DU: Al Gonzales's Southern Strategy: The Curious Timing of William Jefferson Only an idiot or a child truly believes that justice is blind in America. Ok Pat C - here's another hot one :) (wish I had more money to invest now, as it's going down - good time for buying - I keep saying I'm a healthy, wealthy millionaire - but it hasn't happened yet :D From financial astrologer Ray Merriman: "Long-Term Thoughts: I am oftentimes asked how long and how high do I think Gold can soar (and fall)? First of all, consider that we are now in the downside of the Saturn-Pluto economic cycle (from opposition to conjunction). This 18-year phase lasts from 2001-2020. As stated many times before, this is the part of the economic cycle when federal deficits increase, interest rates rise, economies stagnate (for the most part), and there are more recessions that last longer and longer, while periods of prosperity get shorter and shorter. In this phase of the cycle, commodities tend to perform better than usual, and stocks and bonds perform worse than usual. So in answer to “how long can Gold be bullish?” my response is “Probably into the end of the next decade.” My guess is that Gold can top out within two years of the January 2020 conjunction of Saturn and Pluto. It last topped out in January 1980 with an all-time of $850.00/ounce, and that was within approximately two years before Saturn and Pluto formed their last conjunction. From the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto to their opposition, federal deficits tend to be reduced, interest rates come down, and the economy, bonds, and stocks tend to perform very well. It is a time to be in the equity markets, investing your money into the economy. However, precious metals and commodities tend not to perform very well during this 18-year phase of the cycle. We saw that from 1982 through 2001. Stocks did very well, but Gold did very poorly. Now the cycle is reversed into 2020, +/- 2 years. So how high can Gold go? $2000.00-4000.00 is not out of the question. And my colleague Manfred Zimmel of Austria presents an argument for $6000.00. And yes, there will be smaller secular bear markets in between now and 2020. I am referring here to a long-term trend, an 18-year trend. Within that there are smaller cycles that will have their downward trends. One may be in effect right now as we approach the Moon's North Node transit over the 0 Aries point around June 13-20. There are always cycles within cycles. And the trend is ultimately determined by the type of cycle you are looking at. In this section, I am referring to an 18-year cycle, a lunar Nodal cycle and half a Saturn-Pluto cycle. The 18-19 year cycle is the most documented economic cycle in the study of cycles." http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/05/31/music.dixiechicks.ap/index.html Dixie Chicks fly to No. 1 on album charts .................. http://www.bradblog.com/archives/00002891.htm Bobby Kennedy JR. on '04 election theft in Rolling Stone feature article EXCLUSIVE: BOBBY KENNEDY JR. http://www.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,,1787029,00.html A state of emergency Bush is a danger to the constitution in his wartime capacity as commander in chief Within the Bush administration something that senior officials call the "war paradigm" is the central organising principle. They do not use the phrase publicly, but they bend policy to serve it. After September 11 the war paradigm was instantly adopted. George Bush, who proclaimed "I'm a war president", assumed the paradigm as his natural state and right. According to its imperatives, the president in his wartime capacity as commander in chief makes and enforces laws as he sees fit, overriding the constitutional system of checks and balances. Some of the paradigm's expressions include Bush's fiats on the treatment of detainees, domestic surveillance and international law, and his more than 750 "signing statements" - interpretations of laws that he claims he can implement as he chooses. In the beginning, the elements of the war paradigm appeared to be expediencies, conceived as emergency measures in the struggle against al-Qaida. But their precepts were developed before September 11 by John Yoo, promoted to deputy assistant attorney general in the office of legal counsel at the department of justice, where he was tasked to write secret memos on torture, surveillance and executive power. Once Bush approved them, the clerisy of neoconservative lawyers put them into effect. They believe fervently that the constitution is fatally flawed and must be circumscribed. The Bush administration's holy grail is to remove suspects' rights to due process, speedy trial and exculpatory evidence. The war paradigm is to be strengthened to conduct permanent war against terror that can never be finally defeated. There is no exit strategy from emergency. More.... There's a real authenticity about his speech that you simply do not hear from our so-called leaders today. So unspeakably sad for the US and the World... Along with Martin Luther King and John Kennedy, I think with RFK we had a real hope for a chance at the higher path and American ideals that too often only see lip service. Their murders sent the Progressive Left into a state of collective shock that has spanned decades, breaking only recently in the knee-jerk reaction to the total idiocy of George W. Bush. If you think losing every major progressive leader wasn't devestating to our cause and movement, imagine what it may have meant for the Right Wing cause to see their own cherished heroes, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., Newt Gingrich and Pat Robertson, all done in by assassins. One you might be able to absorb. But four or five would probably push you back into the closet to sulk for a long while. Of course, I'm by no means saying that this is what should have happened, for either side. There were, however, obviously, a lot of vested interests in maintaining their dominion over the established status quo at any cost. They won. And so now, here we are, 40 years after the Uranus-Pluto conjuction, and at the brink of ruin, it seems. For all of their desperate efforts, maybe the status quo didn't win after all? That reality, in the form of the upcoming Uranus-Pluto square, may turn out to be the ultimate vindication of MLK, RFK and others who showed us the better path, for at that time, we may have no other choice but to follow it. Posted by: NEOBuckeye on June 1, 2006 06:18 AMAnon, My apologies. As you noted, I obviously meant RFKjr. Posted by: NEOBuckeye on June 1, 2006 06:20 AMSally, I've always wondered about Uranus...certainly the people (Moon) find Blackwell 'interesting'...as Uranian energy is interesting, but that is putting such a positive spin on energy which is so totally corrupt..... I think it could also be like touching the 3rd rail on a train? I've talways sensed that Uranus can be about sudden arrival and departure...the political rise and fall, swift, sudden and out of nowhere. Pat C....I like 'ho's reading pretty well"....of course, you did drop the W....typing is a pain. I wonder how long it will be before voice command is the norm, and typing is like ....shorthand! no one does it anymore. Speaking of Uranian concepts. Although right now, I'd say it is Neptune R that is doing all the dirty work. And then what happens if we get larengytis? LOL Posted by: Anon on June 1, 2006 06:25 AMYea, verily, NEO... wise words... sad words. Posted by: JoannaOregon on June 1, 2006 06:27 AMNeo...you touch on exactly what I thought when watching Bobby's speech, how devastatingly unscripted and genuine a moment, so close to his own brother's murder. This is a spiritual watershed moment which we see. I think there were more, but by the time of Reagan, it was gone. The dark side of the equation has run amok, and it will always be so. I don't believe we will have that utopian dream of a thousand years of peace (It seems to me we need an astrological signature for that, and I haven't looked). But the Uranus Pluto conjunction in 1968 produced the children soon reaching the 40 year mark, and their eyes will open. In fact, last night my daughter and husband watched Frontline on the AIDS devastation in Reagan's years of silence. They had no idea that his silence caused the death of SO many people, and that John Roberts (the chief supreme now) wrote the briefing for Reagan which could have helped so many, had Regan uttered one word about what they had found out, but he didn't, as Roberts said say NOTHING! They were just shocked at the evilness, the utter banality of that evil. It is a struggle, but I have come to think that that is the way the world works. And one has to make a choice of which side you come down on. Does one save one's own life and lose the soul? Or lose your life to save your soul.... I feel vindicated that at a dinner at an exclusive golf club in SF (on my birthday, too) in June 2004, when Ronnie Raygun passed on, we were asked to stand to honor him. This was a roomful of Republican golfers...at a CHARITY event. And I wouldn't stand, and I wouldn't pray and I wouldn't clap. It shocked the table; they all worshiped the man. But I remembered all the dead gay (and hemophiliacs, including a close friend) men....and I could NOT bring myself to be social. That was a watershed moment, and it really upset everyone there. I didn't care. I just couldn't do it. Something is truly rotten in this state of Ohio, and probably will be for awhile. I've been curious to know the astrology behind it, and I think your last post covered it: "Transiting Pluto is square Ohio's progressed Sun so they are on some kind of self-destructive course, in 2004 T-Pluto was squaring Ohio's progressed Venus, and went on through all the investigations into their voting problems when T-Pluto was squaring the progressed Saturn." Ohio at one point took great pride in its' reputation as one of the most industrially-advanced states in the country, and quite possibly the world. Something happened within the past 10 years, I think, to totally change our direction. Even with the collapse and exodus of our premier industries in the 1970s and 1980s, I don't think the state sustained an irrecoverable blow, devestating as it was. There was still a sense of being able to somehow recover from the fallout eventually. When I think about it, the "darkness" and decay that now pervades this state did actually settle in around the time that Bush came to power in 2000, though that might not all be due to the state's own astrological transits. But whatever it's origin, it has only grown much worse since then. Right now, there is this tremendous sense of anxiety and even hopelessness about Ohio, at least among the late-teens to 20-somethings and 30-somethings that I interact with. No one seems to feel that this state has a future, and nothing is being done on the part of our state leaders to counter that notion. Our high-school drop out rates have dramatically increased, because so many kids don't think it's even worth it to stay in school when the only jobs waiting for you after graduation are at Burger King and Wal-Mart, which you don't even need a degree for. Even the elders in their late 60s, 70s and 80s cannot seem to recall a time this bad. With the RW Reactionaries having been so successful at rolling back New Deal gains, so many people are barely one paycheck away from total ruin. Even more disturbing are the numbers of senior citizens who are forced into working demeaning service-sector jobs just to supplement their social security checks. There will be many more joining them. The big kicker-twist in all of this is the Piscean/Neptunian delusion, which somehow Ken Blackwell, being a Sun Pisces himself near the same degree of Ohio's Natal Sun, has been able to use to his advantage. Many people here in Ohio know that something is amiss, but they can't seem to put their finger on it. Blackwell comes along, tells them that it's the gays (it isn't) and makes a big to-do about his shot at being the first African-American Governor for Ohio or any state to the African-American churchgoing crowd, claming ideological heritage from none other than Martin Luther King(!), and actually seems to be holding the public's interest! He has entirely evaded so far, fallout from the Taft/Ney/Noe scandals. He shouldn't even be a legitimate candidate for all of his corruption in the 2004 election. And yet, as Secretary of State, he will oversee the results of this election, even though he is also a participant in the election! It might be worth noting, that I am what many here at AW would probably consider to be African-American, and I am totally disgusted, even revulsed by what Blackwell represents. He has the nerve to actually liken himself to MLK, who fought for everyone, of every ethnicity, background and skin color. My eyes, however, only see a self-serving charlatan whose very political career is a slap in the face of the entire civil rights movement. I don't know what the outcome of this election will be, but I hope Ted Strickland has a lot more fight in him than Kerry. Ohio, as far as I can see, is dying. If Blackwell wins, or steals the election, short of an upheaval, they might as well turn out the lights and hold a memorial service. Posted by: NEOBuckeye on June 1, 2006 07:44 AMHail! Hail! [WV, I came to a-world after Pat C --- probably just seems I've been here forever because I talk so much :-) Posted by: Jo on June 1, 2006 02:38 PMI think one of the reasons the U.S. is so pro-Israel, wv, is that Israel has a democracy and is such a successful country in spite of being the unwanted child in the Mideast -- successful economically and culturally. It is a healthy country in many ways, the way it has cultivated it's resources. As far as I know, when the land that used to be known as Palestine was split up, both Jew and Arab were given equal parts. I don't know if the U.S. has been playing favorites all these years (and, if so, hasn't also Russia?), or it is just that the Arab cultures have their own obstacles to development (I don't quite understand it). It doesn't have to be the lack of democracy because I am sure they have been other forms of enlightened governments - it is the rulers, not the system. I, too, wish that Israel would withdraw from these areas and allow the Palestinians to live in peace. In spite of what any of you think about Zionism (and my understanding is that Zionism was the driving force to give a home to Jews after the Holocaust), Israel IS at a security risk in the Mideast, now more than ever, with terrorists having weapons, and some of the Arab countries harboring terrorists. Israel is not acting in a vacumn. Now, if Hamas, now that it is part of the government, renounced it's pledge to destroy Israel and the president of Iran did not say it wanted to wipe Israel off the map, but instead these people expressed the willingness to work towards peace, I believe Israel would not be so heavy handed and would be a willing partner. And, possibly, if the U.S. and Russia (and whatever other countries) took a step back and said work it out between yourselves, something good might come out of it --- or....it might degenerate into a very bad situation. We don't know. Other than that, I have been observing some of the exchanges on this board, and believe (and have always believed) that there a way of stating one's opinion, in a way that leaves room for others' opinions and feelings, and, without making the next person "wrong." No one has a premium on the truth or knows everything. It's ok to disagree - why can't it be done politely? We have to get beyond mirroring anger back at each other, people, and stop, take some breaths, and really think think before we speak/write sometimes, myself included (especially with my husband :-) I think underneath these somewhat heated or angry or irritated exchanges, we all agree on the basics and we all love each other. There....I've said my peace. Sharon I'm still here wv. Lurking. Plus I work, think some people have way too much time on their hands to be blogging all day long. Sidney Blumenthal Guardian Within the Bush administration something that senior officials call the "war paradigm" is the central organising principle. Some of the paradigm's expressions include Bush's fiats on the treatment of detainees, domestic surveillance and international law, and his more than 750 "signing statements" - interpretations of laws that he claims he can implement as he chooses. http://www.guardian.co.uk/print/0,,329493642-103677,00.html Posted by: wv on June 1, 2006 02:52 PMI agree with you, Bhakti, that we shouldn't be passive PCers (although Gandhi & King were pretty successful with their active passivity). I think we should be kings and queens of swords, clear and knowing where we stand (when we can know this - and sometimes it is better to be in the gray zone) but choose those moments very discriminantly. Otherwise, we run the risk of setting ourselves up as authorities, making judgements about others being wrong. What say you? That kind of thing can be construed as putting others down and invites striking back. I am exploring these issues as I, too, want to learn better and higher ways to be. The story that members of Yale University's secret Skull and Bones society took the remains - including a skull and femur - from the burial site in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, has long been part of the university's lore. But a university historian recently recovered a letter from 1918 that appears to support the story that members of the society did indeed take the remains while serving with a group of army volunteers from Yale, stationed at the fort during the First World War. The students - among them, Mr Bush's grandfather Prescott - apparently returned with the remains and kept them in their society's headquarters at the university in New Haven, Connecticut. The society's initiation rite reportedly involves kissing a skull, referred to as "Geronimo", usually held in a glass case. The letter from society member Winter Mead to fellow member F Trubee Davison, made public earlier this month, said: "The skull of the worthy Geronimo the Terrible, exhumed from its tomb at Fort Sill by your club... is now safe inside the [tomb] together with his well worn femurs, bit and saddle horn." The famous Indian chief's great-grandson is appealing for President Bush's help in recovering the remains. Speaking from his home in Mescalero, New Mexico, Harlyn Geronimo said: "I am requesting his help in getting the remains - the skull and the femur - returned, if they were taken. According to our traditions the remains of this sort, especially in this state when the grave was desecrated ... need to be reburied with the proper rituals. To return the dignity and let his spirits rest in peace ... is important in our tradition." The letter was discovered by the Yale historian Marc Wortman and published in the Yale Alumni Magazine. Mr Wortman said there was still scepticism as to whether the remains were those of Geronimo - something that could probably only be proved by carrying out DNA tests. More... I'm going to remind you that the Congress or at least the House is almost entirely made up of far right extremist Christians. If they are co-operating with the Neo-Cons/Zionists it is for two reasons, 1) so that they can do as you have done, and as the world has done for 60 centuries: position one group to lay blame on, and 2)because the Robertson's, Falwell's and far right Xian extremists including Junior, have been making inroads in cooperation with Israel for years because they are hopeful that they can push the Middle East into Armageddon and the return of their God. Politically, of course capturing all the oil in the Middle East is a great incentive for the multi-nationals. These are the questions I wrote for you and I meant seriously. In his strident appeal to Congress, Olmert sought nothing less than to incite war between America and Iran. Prior to his stroke, Ariel Sharon was engaged in fomenting wars between America and Iraq, and he had promised his circle of admirers that he would move Iran into the cross hairs of America at the first opportunity. Olmert is Sharon's political heir, and he has inherited a legacy of incitement and fomentation of wars in the Middle East between America and Islamic nations that are militarily weak and rich in oil. To coincide with Olmert's visit, the Democratic Leadership Council published a statement celebrating "Zionism" and condemning Islam. If their publication had not come from a man who purports to be a leader of the political opposition to the deeply unpopular right-wing Republican regime one might be inclined to surmise that it had been issued by the so-called Israel Lobby. http://www.counterpunch.org/carmichael05302006.html Posted by: wv on June 1, 2006 05:49 PMhttp://www.buzzflash.com/store/reviews/229 Book review How Would a Patriot Act? As we write this review, we have just finished talking with Greenwald for an upcoming BuzzFlash interview. He is a lucid thinker, steeped in history, and knows that Bush and Cheney are not the first chief executives to illegally spy on Americans. But, no administration has broken the law so openly, so frequently, and with such impunity. No administration has launched such a broad attack on the Constitution. No administration has sought -- in essence -- to replace so completely the rule of law with the personal rule of unitary executive authority. Nixon came close, but no cigar. Bush and Cheney win -- hands down -- in the race to marginalize the Constitution into virtual irrelevance. More.... Posted by: Pat C on June 1, 2006 06:41 PMMost of the Big Dog's are slimey. The three-month probe, led by Army Maj. Gen. Eldon Bargewell, is also expected to call for changes in how U.S. troops are trained for duty in Iraq, the official said. This is worse than Abu Ghraib because it involves innocent civilians in a much clearer fashion than incidents against prisoners (the prisoners may or may not be guilty, but the perception and presumption of guilt is very different). And of course, dead is different and more final than abused, without minimizing in any what what took place at Abu Ghraib. Any hint of cover-up is its own stain. The proud Marines I know are aghast at this, and they refuse to accept this as SOP or policy in any way. But those who refuse to draw any parallells with Vietnam really need to do some background reading and catch up with reality. Bush and Rumsfeld bear ultimate responsibility now just as much as LBJ and McNamara did then. They will deny it, but they are cowards. And Vietnam has never really gone away. Swift Boats For Truth arose out of the lingering revisionist history some of the Vietman vets feel compelled to write. So expect this (alleged) political disaster (known as Iraq) to stir up memories of the earlier one (known as Vietnam). It has to. The same kind of people are making the same kind of mistakes. Hurricane season in the United States officially begins today, and NOAA is predicting a very active season again this year. How are things going in the Gulf Coast region — in New Orleans and all over the coastline of Louisiana, along the coastline in Mississippi, in Alabama, in Georgia, in Texas? Slowly, at best. And if this is the best we can do for our fellow Americans in need, what in the hell are we going to do if there is a catastrophic chemical, biological or nuclear attack on a packed urban environment? With the national guard and reserves stretched thin to breaking by the war of choice in Iraq, what sort of planning — if any — has been done for contingencies if we have weather emergencies, fires and/or terrorist or other attacks all at one time? Feeling any safer? Me neither. Scout Prime has been doing some exceptional reporting on this issue from the time the hurricane hit. She’s really poured her heart into this issue, which you can see a glimpse of in this YouTube video of her last visit to NOLA. Posted by: Jo on June 1, 2006 11:20 PMIt's never what happens to us or what someone does that makes the difference in our lives, it's our individual response to what happens that makes the difference. A "train wreck" is only an indication that we (the US) isn't headed in the direction we thought or even that many of us wanted, but we are going in a new direction and the past has been "wrecked," but I look at the people who have lost everything in their world and they keep picking up and going on. We do too for that matter, but do we go on looking for opportunities or lamenting our plight. That's where the control is in our hands. When I have a client that asks me "what is going to happen?" I always tell them "something, something is going to happen" now what are the strengths and weaknesses you have to deal with what is happening, and we have to ask ourselves the same question, how can we add to a solution, even in small ways. There were women who fought for the right to vote, people who fought for civil rights and many of these people never lived to see it happen, but that didn't stop their passion, their vision, their belief in something better and trying to make it better. The same goes for all of us now. Pluto is on the Galactic Center, history tells us that massive changes are on the way, some of them will be good and some of them won't be, that isn't any different than life has always been. But it does offer faith and hope for the future and for mankind. The sky has fallen and it has fallen before in history and mankind is still here, we will make it through this or not but for me I never let go of the vision. Now with the lunation in the G.Center and also touching the Gem/Sag opposition of Saturn and Pluto when the attack occurred, I think we are revisiting the issue. Many have been hovering in fear waiting for the next attack. But now some are feeling like this attack is not imminent and it might be safe to venture out. We are in a quandary, I think, and the tensions of overcrowding and waiting have mounted. This can cause a lot of sniping in the bunker. People cling and protect one another when threatened but when they no longer feel the immediate danger, they want more freedom and movement. At this point we are still unsure. Drury 11 September 2003 "Evatt Foundation" -- There is a growing awareness that a reclusive German émigré philosopher is the inspiration behind the reigning neoconservative ideology of the Republican Party. Leo Strauss has long been a cult figure within the North American academy. And even though he had a profound antipathy to both liberalism and democracy, his disciples have gone to great lengths to conceal the fact. And for the most part they have succeeded -- as the article by James Atlas in The New York Times and the article by Seymour Hersh in The New Yorker indicate. This picture of Strauss as the great American patriot, who was a lover of freedom and democracy is pure fabrication. Nothing could be further from the truth. The trouble with the Straussians is that they are compulsive liars. But it is not altogether their fault. Strauss was very pre-occupied with secrecy because he was convinced that the truth is too harsh for any society to bear; and that the truth-bearers are likely to be persecuted by society - specially a liberal society - because liberal democracy is about as far as one can get from the truth as Strauss understood it. Recently, he repudiated it as an ideology: FWIW, the concept of the last man is a very, very interesting one. Mary Shelley wrote a novel titled "The Last Man" in the early 1800s as a harsh critique of male-dominated society. Mary also wrote Frankenstein. You can read a hypertext version of the book online at: http://www.rc.umd.edu/editions/mws/lastman/intro.htm#int Nietzsche continued the idea of the Last Man in his work, Also sprach Zarathustra ("Thus spoke Zarathustra"), but in a gender-neutral way. These are days that one cannot superfluously leave to the imagination -- these are days of deep thought -- and being --- where words are meaningless --- once one has a glimpse of the seamless deception commingled w/ the simple truth of ones existence -- which is that we are "a meaningless spec in the face of a timeless universe". Posted by: Philomena on June 2, 2006 06:25 AMPat C...I've never heard you express so much of yourself and it's stunning. Something is happening. It's not funny and it's way beyond the personal and the absurdity of trying to control this and the links, post lengths, etc. Mercury just passed the opposition to Pluto in th G.Center and this lunation is the only one occurring there. It is monumental. I believe we are being beamed by the universe right now and a huge load of information, truth and knowledge are pouring down on us. It is heavy and overwhelming but we need it. We are absolutely sick and saturated with the scandal, gossip, crime, fear, war, misery and every little act of people repeated over and over and over with absolutely nothing we can do to correct it now. We're driving ourselves into insanity. Astroworld is no more toxic than it ever was. All entities have toxins, good spirits, everything and they emerge at different times. It we want to erradicate the negativity here then maybe we can if we really have the true desire. It's not that hard. This is a fantastic learning moment. Truth is here but the truth is entirely subjective. The best thing to do is be grateful we are receiving this and look to our own selves for that truth. Our own Sagittarius houses, our own Jupiters, and our own Plutos. Moments of truth are like this. They cut through everything and make so many things seem meaningless. It's a moment to grasp and savor. Astroworld will be fine. Posted by: jm on June 2, 2006 06:38 AMTHIS is Pluto in Sagittarius. these are ideas coming from the collective in all shades, stripes, forms, etc., equal to the diversity of all the people. We are not destroying one another's bodies or stealing possessions. The force of our beliefs can be extreme but we are all entitled to them and to their expression. Ans so we are entitled to our responses. In a goddamned world where people are murdering over beliefs we can have the equanimity to accept the expression of all of them. The reason this site gets toxic from time to time is I don't block it like other sites do, but I will. My point is, this is a challenging time for journalists. And because you are word people, you understand that "challenging time" is a euphemism often used to describe disasters of epic proportions. For example, Richard Pryor was facing a "challenging time" when he ran down the street half-naked and on fire. What are your challenges, specifically? Let us begin with, quote unquote, getting a job. Good jobs in journalism have become scarce as newspapers shrink and die, broadcast media fragment to smaller niche audiences and the public appears more and more willing to receive its "news" online from nincompoops ranting in their underpants. But, it's not like there is no hope. There are still high-prestige, well-paying positions in journalism. Unfortunately, they are filled by tired old coots who aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Me, for example. It'll take a hydraulic winch to pry me loose from this gig. Two decades ago, I worked with your dean, Tom Kunkel, at the Miami Herald. Back then, the Herald was a newspaper the thickness of the Singapore telephone directory. Today, when carriers fling the Herald onto suburban driveways, it settles to the pavement gently, like a sycamore leaf in the breeze. When Tom and I worked there, the Herald was the flagship of the Knight Ridder newspaper chain, which no longer exists, having recently been purchased by the McClatchy chain, which sold some of the papers to the MediaNews chain, which sold some of the papers to the Kmart chain, which is using them as packing material for Scooby-Doo sippy cups. I'd like to think, however, that I've added something useful to the discussion during my tenure here, being an unrepentent "political junkie" since I first got interested in the Goldwater/Johnson contest back in '64 (does that date me, or what?!). Lately though (sorry to offend anyone) this site has essentially (from my particular perspective of course) morphed/deteriorated into a platform for mostly highly neurotic unhappy "needy" individuals so obsessed with their own issues/ selves, that they no longer even pretend to try to focus on providing any of the unique political/astro insights that originally gave the site so much intellectual energy and real freshness/excitement. Sorry folks, but all this recent non-stop bitching + catfighting has gotten really old very fast, and as a Jewish guy, I'm particually not thrilled with those on this board bending over backwards to seemingly deny the quite obvious connection between the neo-con hijacking of our country, and the pernicious radical Zionism so prevalent in the Bush administration and so many of the highly dysfunctional "think tanks" around D.C. To those who cry "anti-semitism" as a knee jerk reaction to these kind of comments, I simply answer (sorry, Sally) "BULLSHIT!" Well, I've said my piece, and if any of the "old timers" would like to communicate off site with one expat Grizzly who still misses the (now mostly gone but not forgotten!) good 'ole U.S. of A, please feel more than free to write! See you all later, then. Posted by: Grizzly on June 2, 2006 08:16 PMLaura's chart: http://www.astrodatabank.com/NM/Feedback.asp?ChartID=39814 Her north node is at 12 Gemini (1st house)...! Today is 11 Gemini! tomorrow it should be official... Uranus is 21 Gemini...give it 10 more days....and this will be all over the place. Saturn is 8 Leo, so she is getting the hit from T. Saturn. It conjuncts natal Pluto although widely at 13 Leo...and Jupiter is retro on her Sun at 11 Scorpio....! so it is all coming back on her now, to deal with. Don't know her progressed stuff....this is just what I saw on first glance. No comments yet there. Posted by: !@#$%^&* on June 2, 2006 08:19 PMGrizzley....but it is necessary sometimes to go thru this stuff....and this Laura stuff is heating up....so come back. Stuff happens, no one can really control it, nor would, I hope, anyone want to....this is Saturn/Pluto at its best. (and worst) Of course, there is always the choice to change the channel...or not read something if it bores you. I kind of like the last one. The best breakthrus are after the fights....kind of a variation on the best sex is after the fights. Posted by: judiGem on June 2, 2006 08:23 PMI think Griz was referring to more than your definition of 'fighting' Judi... read him again. Posted by: Jo on June 2, 2006 08:53 PM"Pallas deserves an apology. And not only is it not absurb to control the content of this site, it is possible to do so. Many in fact most sites do it." ---- Sally Pallas deserves an apology for attacking WV? Find me a site where content is controlled... please. Most allow registration. All ask you to be nice and not attack each other... they almost never delete trolls even. Moon of Alabama deletes trolls when they rant for pages and pages and seem to have no point. DU has shut down threads for discussion of Israel. Three years ago if you mentioned the word Neocon at dKOS you got rated down, but no one deleted your post or blocked you. Now dKOS has even had threads on the recent piece on the Israel Lobby. Grizzly, hold the door... I'm behind you. Posted by: Jo on June 2, 2006 09:23 PMoops, almost forgot... I see there's a new thread up --- on sex in the White House... how original. I thought we did that one already... yeah, let's move along, nothing to see here... focus on Wayne Madsen and his salacious gossip. never mind the atrocities being committed in our name in Iraq, in the Middle East... Haditha? nothing to see there... let's peak in Laura's bedroom... no chance of getting any discussion about really taboo subjects there... Digby at Hullabaloo has a country-western song written by one of his readers I came here to post... so, it will be my last one... the song takes a lot of broad band, but that's nothing compared to all the tidbits about Condi's stilettos and Laura's dress... ------------------ Listen to the Wind I'm living in the blue states I'm working in the factory (chorus) I'm searching for the Jesus I'm searching for some honor (chorus) Jo...humor not allowed here either? Posted by: on June 2, 2006 09:40 PMIf this site was controlled according to each of our wishes, there would be nobody left to talk to but ourselves. Sorry, Jo, that my humor about the dress offended you. Don't you see that it is vital to have these discussions? This is about freedom of speech (albeit with perhaps a tad more manners), but geez....censorship is censorship is censorship. That being said, I am also glad you are making the point that WV is not being anti Jewish. We really need to separate those issues entirely. ANd Jo, watch out, if you do come back, the next thread IS on Laura Bush I agree with Grizzly. I don't come here for therapy. This is the world wide web, and for that reason I will never be particularly personal in what may appear to be, but is not, our little corner of the web. We might be very surprised if we knew who and how many people are reading, and what's worse, probably being saved if it's considered important...or whatever. Strange days indeed when simple human conversation is government business. Judi, I have never had the impression in any of our conversations that we disagreed, but maybe I'm wrong. Posting in snippets on what are truly complicated subjects, it may seem that we know a person, but it's not so. We don't. I post articles that I think are interesting. I don't always agree with everything in the articles, but they are interesting and hopefully helpful. I have hoped that my research helped to make up for the lack of journalism in the mainstream media. I know I'm feeling starved for truth and informed opinion in journalism, and I think it helps validate astrology. That's just my opinion of course. I know there are some who complain that all I do is post articles, and I pretty much know who they are, but I don't consider that to be my problem. I've never been particularly fond of group think or pecking orders, and that is probably inevitable when there are more than two people in a room. I've traveled enough in my life to know that the dynamic is consistent and hasn't changed since middle school. The roll playing thing is just not my bag. I use to think this was an awesome site, and I am grateful to Sally for providing such a wonderful place for political astrology. My habit it to trust and love people at face value. I have realized that's just naive. We don't really know eachother. We really don't. But it can be fun to share our knowledge and frustration and our passion about the times we are sharing as a human family evolving during this extraordinary time. May you all live long and proper, and have a hppy heart. Posted by: Pat C on June 2, 2006 09:47 PMPat C., maybe I should have explained what I meant...when you post an article, you could say "I found this interesting...or I don't agree with all of this" or "this reallys struck me as important in...etc...". I just think connections are often important. From my standpoint, (and hey, I completely disagree with you only on immigration), that makes the article more important. It isn't just a 'service'. That is all I meant. Posted by: judiGem on June 2, 2006 10:09 PMThank you Judi, for the encouragement. I can always count on you. Posted by: jm on June 2, 2006 10:43 PMThe word in the last sentence should have been "prosper". I just can't answer the telephone and type at the same time. judi, that's a relief. I feel strongly that the huge numbers coming from the south are manipulated by who else, the manipulators. That and the H1B visa people who are planned to come in larger and larger numbers to take the place of highly paid Americans, are to me the plan to globalize the US and bring us down from all that has been accomplished, and it is being done as much as possible behind our backs. It's not being covered by the press that much either, and it is such a huge attempt, that is criminal. Race is not the issue for me but it is the primary issue for some others. It is money and manipulation for great power. Posted by: Pat C on June 2, 2006 10:52 PMjm, I enjoy your posts. I hope you *are* encouraged. Posted by: Pat C on June 2, 2006 10:53 PMwell judig i disagree. Pat C, and anyone else who posts articles here, is doing a great service for those of us who dont have the time to do the research and/or the skills to peruse the net. I really dont need to know if she thinks its interesting or not or whether she agrees with it. I'll read it and decide for myself. article posting is one of the very best functions of this board. lets not make rules and regs that would chill participation.
