NEW THREAD
There will be a new article up as soon as possible this week. My youngest son is getting married Saturday and he just moved into a new house, it's been a bit nuts. I thought the "mother of the groom" was supposed to have it easier than the "mother of the bride" I must say it was much easier when my daughter got married than both of my sons and I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Just a little rant before the wedding. New Article soon. By the way, a friend of mine with an investment in Barbaro called me last week and asked how he would do. I took a look at his chart (April 29, 2003) and said there was something that happened to his leg during or immediately after the Derby, some kind of weakness in the leg and it might not be a good idea to run him for the Preakness. Of course that was out of the question because they would run him for the Preakness. He's a good horse but will have a bit of a problem healing as well as the hope. Saturn was opposing his Mars right after the Derby and the day of the Preakness transiting Sun was right on his NN and the Moon conjunct his natal Uranus (which is in a square to his node) It didn't look like a good day for him to run and it wasn't. He still has to get past transiting Saturn squaring his Sun and conjuncting his Jupiter. He needs to make it past those days in June before he's out of the woods. Karl Rove also has the South Node on his natal Saturn and square his Sun and Saturn coming to an opposition to his Mars. The next three/four weeks aren't not good periods of time for him. Look to your own chart and if Saturn is conjuncting, squaring or opposing any of your planets, always the danger of hurting your bones, your teeth, accidents, aches and pains, overwork, underpaid feeling. Try to take it all in stride for it will pass and when it does you will be taking better care of yourself and be more organized. On to the wedding.

Posted by: tseka on May 23, 2006 03:10 AMI would appreciate some insight from wiser heads than mine. I just noticed something that escaped me for for the 8 years I have been with my partner: we both have Chiron in our sixth houses. Chiron is 13 Aries 38'59"r in my chart, and it is 6 Aquarius 41'50"r in his chart. Both of us are in the helping profession, and he is definitely the wounded healer-- no mystery there if you know him. But I can't see how it applies to me. I have sun conjunct chiron in Libra & didn't marry until I was 44 yrs. Posted by: Neith on May 23, 2006 04:01 AMJill, thanks for that link. That was wonderful. He also has Saturn, Uranus, and the Moon in Gemini. Uranus is squaring it all by transit and loosening it up, and Pluto just knocked his Saturn around. He always was a riot in private but now he is revealing this in public, speaking around the country and being warm, funny, and real. he's changed. But most important have been his speeches on dissent. they've triggered a reaction and now something is going on in this country I've never seen before. This is something. From Jean Rohe and her speech to McCain at the New School. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jean-rohe/why-i-spoke-up_b_21358.html I've seen a lot of protest movements in this country in my time but usually they are dominated by charismatic leaders who speak for the people. This is the first time I've seen the people speak directly, soulfully, honestly, and alone to the criminals in power, not from a noisy crowd, but from podiums to attentive audiences. Harry Taylor, Colbert, and now Jean. I keep going back to the recent Pluto opposite our Mars in Gem, now being passed by the Sun, and think of how fortunate it's been that the national media failed us. We've turned inward, found our voices in the blogoshere, and developed the courage to speak up for ourselves in a new way. I will folllow this intently and see where it leads. The power of the word. Posted by: jm on May 23, 2006 07:07 AMSo we could have some genuine democracy budding where public meetings are the places for people to speak their minds. It's been happening all along in towns and cities, but if these keeps up, politicians will have to adjust and one day we won't be hearing all canned speeches from made up dolls with no regard at all for our intelligence. We have to make that clear. And put and end to this Rovian style of communication that is so desperately insulting to the body, the mind, and the soul. We will need self respect, and Ms. Rohe has a compelling story. I'm very proud of her. Posted by: jm on May 23, 2006 07:19 AMSally, I read the first few posts and had to jump in! My daughter is getting married Saturday also! She'll be 36 in September and it's her first wedding. She begged my permission to get married when she was 17 and I refused on the grounds that if she wasn't old enough to sign the papers she wasn't old enough to get married! My parents married me off at 17 and I just had bad vibes about getting married at that age. Needless to say - my first marriage didn't work out. Since then she's said I saved her from her first marriage and she saved herself from the rest..........lol. Her fiance called me 3 months ago to tell me he was planning a surprise wedding. I talked him out of the "surprise" part of it, thank goodness! I was thinking that when my son gets married (if he ever does (he's almost 32) it would be a lot easier. Oh well, from what you say, I'll be going through pretty much the same.... Sure hope he gives us more advance warning..... My future daughter-in-law says she will.... hope so. Saturday, when I'm at the hall where my daughter and her husband are exchanging vows, I will think of you...and your son and his new wife......and I will send thoughts of love and peace to your whole family. It's only fitting as this site has given me so much peace....... .....but mostly, as one mom to another....do enjoy the wedding........you've earned it!!!!! To see our children well settled. Posted by: anna on May 23, 2006 07:48 AM* Why I Spoke Up - Jean Rohe Here's my commencement speech: "If all the world were peaceful now and forever more, Peaceful at the surface and peaceful at the core, All the joy within my heart would be so free to soar, And we're living on a living planet, circling a living star. Don't know where we're going but I know we're going far. We can change the universe by being who we are, And we're living on a living planet, circling a living star." Welcome everyone on this beautiful afternoon to the commencement ceremony for the New School class of 2006. That was an excerpt of a song I learned as a child called "Living Planet" by Jay Mankita. I chose to begin my address this way because, as always, but esp now, we are living in a time of violence, of war, of injustice. I am thinking of our brothers/sisters in Iraq, in Darfur, in Sri Lanka, in Mogadishu, in Israel/Palestine, right here in the US, & many, many other places around the world. And my deepest wish on this day--on all days--is for peace, justice, & true freedom for all people. The song says, "We can change the universe by being who we are," & I believe that it really is just that simple. Right now, I'm going to be who I am & digress from my previously prepared remarks. I am disappointed that I have to abandon the things I had wanted to speak about, but I feel that it is absolutely necessary to acknowledge the fact that this ceremony has become something other than the celebratory gathering that it was intended to be due to all the media attn surrounding John Mc Cain's presence here today, & the student & faculty outrage generated by his invitation to speak here. The senator does not reflect the ideals upon which this university was founded. Not only this, but his invitation was a top-down decision that did not take into acct the desires & interests of the student body on an occasion that is supposed to honor us above all, & to commemorate our achievements. What is interesting & bizarre about this whole situation is that Sen McCain has stated that he will be giving the same speech at all 3 universities where he has been invited to speak recently, of which ours is the last; those being Jerry Falwell's Liberty U, Columbia U, & finally here at the New School. For this reason I have unusual foresight concerning the themes of his address today. Based on the speech he gave at the other institutions, Sen McCain will tell us today that dissent/disagreement are our "civic & moral obligation" in times of crisis. I consider this a time of crisis & I feel obligated to speak. Sen McCain will also tell us about his cocky self-assuredness in his youth, which prevented him from hearing the ideas of others. In so doing, he will imply that those of us who are young are too naïve to have valid opinions & open ears. I am young, & altho I don't profess to possess the wisdom that time affords us, I do know that preemptive war is dangerous & wrong, that gbush's agenda in Iraq is not worth the many lives lost. And I know that despite all the havoc that my country has wrought overseas in my name, Osama bin Laden still has not been found, nor have those WMD. Finally, Sen McCain will tell us that we, those of us who are Americans, "have nothing to fear from each other." I agree strongly with this, but I take it one step further. We have nothing to fear from anyone on this living planet. Fear is the greatest impediment to the achievement of peace. We have nothing to fear from people who are different from us, from people who live in other countries, even from the people who run our govt--& this we should have learned from our educations here. We can speak truth to power, we can allow our humanity always to come before our nationality, we can refuse to let fear invade our lives & to goad us on to destroy the lives of others. These words I speak do not reflect the arrogance of a young strong-headed woman, but belong to a line of great progressive thot, a history in which the founders of this institution play an important part. I speak today, even thru my nervousness, out of a need to honor those voices that came before me, & I hope that we graduates can all strive to do the same." ... * Jonathan Chait: The right discovers bush's 'honesty' - Cons are finally getting a taste of his misleading rhetoric. IT APPEARS that the scales have fallen from David Frum's eyes. The former bush speechwriter, & current Natl Review writer, once had faith in the basic decency/honesty of gwbush. But now [rez] he once served so loyally, & whose honesty he once found above reproach, has done something utterly uncharacteristic. He has presented his policies in a misleading light. No! you say. Deceptive? [boooosh]? He must have the wrong guy. Just a couple of yrs ago, Frum wrote: "I've always thot it strange that so many on the left have chosen to make an issue of [rez]'s honesty. [rez] is, if anything, almost excessively direct & self-endangeringly truthful." It's funny. I remember when bush insisted that he wanted to bring the parties together to pass a patients' bill of rights, even as he arm-twisted [necroporn]s who favored such a bill into renouncing it. I remember when he insisted that lower-income workers reaped the biggest share of his tax cuts. I remember when he presented his stem cell position as a way to dramatically expand research opportunities. One could say that misleading rhetoric was the hallmark of [rez]'s political style. But if you said that 2 yrs ago, you were a rabid Bush-hater [& so what?!??]. Now the immigration debate, which has turned the right against itself, has provoked a kind of rt-wing glasnost. Former bush loyalists are discovering all sorts of unpleasant things about him, & each other. ... http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-chait21may21,0,1197236.column?coll=la-news-comment-opinions Posted by: JoannaOregon on May 23, 2006 08:51 AMCongrats Dear! His winter solstice birth is also of note with the potentiality of Capricorn, not the shadow. Rove's genius? The latest staement on Iraq...."We've turned the corner". The pathetic political operative has run out of ideas. The well is dry. His synapses have filled with fat, perhaps. BTW, funding for the permanent military bases in Iraq was denied by Congress. I don't know if this means that they won't be built, but it would be in keeping with our P.Mars retro. My radio station is hosted overnight by a Moon in Gemini who loves to dance around many topics and present us with unpredictable evenings. Lately this isn't so. Almost all the talk is about our political dilemma. Last night the Moon was in Aries and the force of the anger and frustration was attention getting, to say the least. People are mad, motivated, and united. With all this Neptune, we don't know what to do. But we will when the time comes. I expect the knot to unravel of its own accord. And in keeping with the Gemini information factor and continuing scandal, the theft of all those veteran's records is astounding. The only creative thing in the government now is the unusual nature of the scandals. The only growth is in the number of them. The corruption is now an entity of its own turning on its masters and creators. A Frankenstinian combination with the Blob and the Thing. The ancient powerful Tomte is remembered still by the Sami. The culture of the Komsa and early Norden was centered in earth rhythms, and aligned to the whole cosmos, very tantric. The Catholic church specifically named the "Finn shaman" (tomte) when they wrote the edict which began inquisititon and irradication of all nature-centric wisdom. Posted by: Philomena on May 24, 2006 03:11 AMUnited States Casts A Dark Shadow Why is the United States of America under the leadership of George W. Bush currently casting such a dark image in much of the world? After all, the USA adminstration only wants to get rid of a ruthless dictator in Iraq. After all, these are the very same men and women who - in the wake of September 11 - stepped up and provided the much needed moral leadership and courage that saw the USA through some very cold, hard, and dark times. In order to better understand the current state of affairs, we must first look to the chart of the United States of America. In looking at the USA chart, it's important to know that there have been many dozens opinions as to the correct date and time over the years. However, below is the chart data that I use and that has always been rather popular with those folks living on the other side of the Atlantic: July 4, 1776 This is generally called the "Sagittarius Rising" or "Sibly chart." It is a chart that was originally published by Ebenezer Sibly (1751-1800), an English astrologer, in the 1780s. It's based on the signing of the American Declaration of Independence, and it's further believed to be based on eyewitness accounts of the signing (although, this is not without quite a bit of controversy). According to astrologer Lois Rodden: "Sibly, an 18th century British astrologer, published the first known horoscope of the U.S. for 10:00 PM GMT which equals 5:00 PM, LMT, Philadelphia. John B. Early, an American astrologer, had written on the margin of his contemporary Raphael's ephemeris, "Declaration signed 10:10 PM" on the July page of his almanac of 1776. (Sibly's chart, by 1785 was variously quoted as 5:00 PM, 4:50 PM and 5:15 PM; apparently rectifications by different astrologers.)" One rather famous astrologer having used a rectified version of the Sibly chart was Dane Rudhyar who gave the adjusted time of 5:13:55 pm EST. Pluto And The USA Due to Pluto spending such a really long time in each sign - Pluto, for instance, will be in the sign of Sagittarius from 1995 to 2008. All in all, slow poke Pluto takes about 248 years to make its way around all twelve signs of the zodiac. When applied to individual charts or to nations, transiting Pluto, the King of the Underworld, is known for ushering in massive upheaval and transformation. Plutonian Theme Intensified With our current president, George W. Bush having Pluto in the 1st house of his birth chart, he and his administration have become the perfect hook to further amplify this Plutonian view of the USA. Lest I be seen as biased in this seeming criticism of the Bush administration... if, instead of Bush, Al Gore were now president - then his birth Pluto is likewise located in his 1st house and again would have been a perfect hook for much of the world's ire and disdain. Do I wish that George W. Bush had, long before he did, chosen to go before the United Nations in order to gain international support? Do I wish that the USA hadn't unnecessarily painted its traditional ally, Great Britain, into a corner? For that matter... do I wish that prior to the 1st Gulf War, the USA hadn't been pressured into making assurances that it wouldn't remove Saddam Hussein from power? For that matter... do I wish a lot of things? You bet I do. The problem is that hindsight is 20/20. What's done is done. Put in simple terms, the temptation of archetypal Pluto is that of giving into fear of the unknown by becoming paralysed with one's suspicions and paranoia - lying down and playing dead. Oddly enough, giving into Pluto's irrational fears can likewise mean that of becoming the feared neighborhood bully because one is the biggest kid on the block. It's no secret that we all - regardless of national or political affiliation - live in dangerous, perilous, and complicated times. There are no easy answers. I get a very strong vibe about the standstill Moon now and the last of the Aries NN. It is a time for independence, autonomy, and pure female strength. This is our time to grasp it. It will come in handy. It's not exactly time to come into power but mostly, I think, to connect with the potential. To absorb the energy. The standstill is giving us a great opportunity. Even to dismiss the dangers of the men for a minute and remember the talent in ourselves. They are diminished just in this act alone. Sun Tzu was fascinating although some of his dictums can be disturbing. For example, he says to crush the enemy completely, showing no forgiveness or weakness. He says, if you don't it will rise again and destroy you. This is a tricky one, and against what women are trained to do, I think. I've written several articles about the coming Mars retrograde beginning in 2003 and going on into 2004, 2005 so if anyone wants to search the archives there is some information there. America's progressed Mars going retrograde has been a subject of speculation for Astrologers for decades and much has been written about this aspect. For one thing it goes retrograde in Libra which could signal (and seems to be the case now during the Mars stationary period) an end of partnerships with other governments for the US. Mars is in its "fall" in Libra, meaning a weakend position, however it will go retrograde in a trine to transiting Neptune. That could be a positive or negative. The positive could be a rebound or restructure of our financial systems, it could also mean that most of America finally gives up trying to protect any semblance of democracy, or the Constitution or civil liberties. There could be the introduction of Martial Law and we will accept that. America the Eagle will lose their power in the world over time. We are already seeing the dismantling of the armed services and being replaced by hired mercenaries. In time we will see the rise of women as leaders and weaker men as leaders (we are already seeing that) Progressed Mars in the US chart will stay that way for about 90 years and when it finally goes direct it will be a very different America than the one we know now. Mars will go retrograde on July 22, 2006 but our trip down the rabbit hole in 2000 was a prelude to all that is to come. I would expect a shocking event that let's us know beyond a doubt that a new world has come to the US, when planets go retrograde in a progressed chart there is usually a stunning event accompaning them. Not necessarily a bad one but a stunning shift in reality. We will have to watch it all unfold. To put it all to work, but what can you expect from a Moon in Capricorn. I think with the natal Saturn in Libra and the packed 7th house we are destined for partnership no matter what. With the station I think old relationships and an old way of developing them is scheduled for revision. The interpersonal map will change constantly probably until we find the relationships that work for us. The trial and error of the Saturn shows this and this Saturn will be activated for many years. The end result....solid, equal relationships. I don't think there is any way around this. I think we have a tendency to be too dominated by European powers. Even though we had a revolution against them, we still are controlled by their purse strings. Maybe another separation is coming and a forming of new alliances elsewhere around the world. I think basically we are still young and naive and this will be part of coming into our own. We will have to realize that we are not invincible so threat will probably show its real face and we will learn. One of the most important things for survival is health and vitality, and there is no doubt we need to regain some. We're too young for the wheelchair yet. There'll be good stretches and difficult ones, as usual, but however it unfolds, some inner balance will be gained to ensure the equal relationships we so desire, and the need for fair play. METEGHAN — On a Friday night in Yarmouth this June, Const. Jason Tree and Const. David Connors will don their scarlet dress uniforms, stand before family, friends and co-workers and wed in the first same-sex marriage in the RCMP’s storied history. In an interview in their Meteghan home Wednesday afternoon, the men said they’ve had great support from the national police force, the community and their families. "I’ve never had a single problem," said Const. Tree, 27, a native of Fredericton, who has worked in southwestern Nova Scotia for six years and is posted in Meteghan. The pair, who’ve dated since meeting at the University of New Brunswick more than eight years ago, will be married by a justice of the peace at the Rodd Grand Hotel on June 30. Apologizing for, while really wallowing in, her "wonkish speech," Hillary waxed rhapsodic about "unlocking the full potential of cellulosic ethanol" and getting "the low-sulfur diesel rule fully implemented." She droned on numbingly about carbon dioxide sequestration, biomass liquid fuel bases, "feebate" tax incentives, hybrid plug-ins, flex-fueled vehicles, continuous reheat furnaces, renewable portfolio standards, Danish wind power, Brazilian ethanol and Kyoto greenhouse targets. (And you thought she was incomprehensible on health care.) She got so far down in the weeds — or switch grass — that she advised her listeners about weatherizing their homes and checking their tires to save fuel. "At every gas station," she chirped, "there ought to be a little sign which says, 'Have you checked to see if your tires are inflated to the right pressure?' Bitter Wine for Israel's Bedouins [posted online on May 23, 2006] The crowded room felt like a sauna, a natural effect of the scorching sun hitting the tin roof and the lack of a fan or air conditioner to ease the desert heat. Everyone was talking about the "Wine Route," the Israeli government's plan for a series of farms and wineries designed to draw tourists to the Negev, and the latest insult to its marginalized Bedouin population. "It is high time to strategize," one person said. "There is no way to oppose it," another responded. This heated discussion went on for several minutes until people began settling down on the mats and pillows adorning the concrete floor. The meeting's organizer, a coordinator from the Negev Coexistence Forum for Civil Equality, asked our hosts to speak. One after another, the Bedouin men stood up to relate their personal stories. They all told of the state-sanctioned abuse carried out against their community. Injustice followed injustice to produce a merciless tale of expulsion, violence, repression and deception. http://www.thenation.com/docprint.mhtml?i=20060605&s=gordon Posted by: wv on May 24, 2006 04:54 PMUS's progressed Mars in Libra goes Rx on July 22, 2006 -- and Russian PM Vladimir Putin touts the rise of the petro-ruble ..........this is nuckear sayonara for the US Petrodollar -- the US's karma for Hiroshima/Nagasaki has returned to US 100 fold...Ph
05/22/06 "Information Clearing House" -- -- “If one day the world’s largest oil producers demanded euros for their barrels, it would be the financial equivalent of a nuclear strike”. Bill O’ Grady, A.G. Edwards On May 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin ignited a firestorm that is bound to sweep across the global economy. In his State of the Nation speech to parliament,, he announced that Russia was planning to make the ruble “internationally convertible” so that it could be used in oil and natural gas transactions. Presently, oil is denominated exclusively in dollars and sold through the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMX) or the London Petroleum Exchange (LPE) both owned by American investors. If Russia proceeds with its plan, the ruble will go nose to nose with the dollar on the open market sending several billions of surplus greenbacks back to the United States. This could potentially send the American economy into freefall; triggering a deep recession and an extended period of hyper-inflation. “The ruble must become a more widespread means of international transactions,” Putin said. “To this end, we need to open a stock exchange in Russia to trade in oil, gas, and other goods to be paid for in rubles."
Note how many of the US's progressed planets are in Rx in the progressed chart for 7/22/06?
Mo 04°Le50' PF 29°Cp26' Porphyry Houses: jm, I'm too mellow and un Mars like today to take Philo to task over Big Dawg. Ya'll need to get over this betrayal energy. Or maybe you haven't experienced enough of it in your life, and it was a great big shock. I have, it no longer surprises me, and I no longer put anyone on an impossible pedestal. I'll take Big Dawg's mind as compensation for fantasies of eternal pristine goodness. Posted by: judiGem on May 24, 2006 05:45 PMPat C noted: "As long as we're stuck in race, we don't evolve." Well... with the USian govt (& many citizens) very much obsessively stuck in race, it will run up against the impossible wall. Oh, they'll evolve & change all right... it's just not likely to be very pleasant, but explosive. And it doesn't have to be that way more's the pity. What is governing this? I say it is rigidity in places no one wants to look....in either party. I would be interested to know if this has to do with people being in the 'fixed sign' mode....(well, I am! I certainly have come up against this in my own life). Or is it something in the party charts for the two parties which attracts certain 'types' into it .....one party says 'do anything' and we will cover you and the other says walk a narrow line or you are dead.... pretty interesting. Well...Mars at 23 Cancer about on my Jupiter 25 Cancer now, just got a call from VP at JWT who wants me to do work over this weekend (which I undoubtedly will do with Mars on my Jup)....first call in so long for work (he was surprised that I haven't had work in 18 months...! the whole industry crashing for us storyboard artists, and prices falling, and the VPs don't know this...hmmmmm....but he is someone I like, so I will do it), and I realized that I started my first job post Art Center on 7/12/65 and now it is 41 years later, and I am going thru midlife work crisis. "Ya'll need to get over this betrayal energy" I don't need to do anything of the sort. It was not a betrayal. I simply don't like him and never did. Not once. Saw it from the beginning. He is as dishonest as they are made and when his vulgarity spilled everywhere I was outraged. I'm a taxpayer and good citizen and I objected. He desecrated the Presidency of my country and did underhanded damage of gargantuan proportions, still largely unrecognized. You are completely free to admire him, But I never will. It's useless to try and make me change this opinion. I'm an iconoclast by nature, and that is unlikely to change. People are free to be anything they want to be, but not with my money. Posted by: jm on May 24, 2006 10:22 PMjm...actually, this sounds more like the current prez's description....I am not sure what the most popular president in ages did that was so gargantuan....I simply don't put as high standards on political people as you do. I saw a golden aura around Clinton when I first saw him....I never say ANTHING like you describe. AND I disagreed with so much he did...but I didn't see what you see. And I wasn't TELLING you what to do either. Posted by: judiGem on May 24, 2006 10:26 PMYou've got a great point, Judi. My standards are high. I haven't liked a president yet, and when I see the potential as revealed by all of us, and the great people I've known in my life, I want a better society with better leaders and I won't stop striving for this. Posted by: jm on May 24, 2006 10:34 PMIt is also not my business to pass judgment on these people (politicians)...I am no higher or mightier than they are...I just didn't choose to be one and have to deal with what they deal with. Some of them are totally sickening....and some do the best they can do. And many don't see these as the SAME people, either...one persons sicko is another's hero. GWB is looked at by an awful lot of people as a straight shooter and honest and a good christian. I don't agree with that, and I don't like what this country has done by conferring their approval on him at any point. But I also think his judgement will come, and it won't be by me. In this case, he will judge himself. Maybe he'll come back next time as a child in a country with sanctions put on it. Maybe Clinton will also....although he is trying to do something good in the world in this life as opposed to certain others who aren't....But it isn't MY call...it will be his. There is no one in this life who is not learning, there is no one in this life who hasn't done things which later in life he or she will or will not be proud of (and this is the basis of my anti death penalty beliefs - at least let them find that judgemnt in time to see the light, so to speak, before 'seeing the light - or dark")....but that judgment is that soul's judgement on itself, not mine. Posted by: judiGem on May 24, 2006 10:36 PM"It is also not my business to pass judgment on these people (politicians)..." That's ridiculous. Every time we vote we make a judgement. Posted by: jm on May 24, 2006 10:48 PMAnd that's a good point. Who says judgement is wrong. It's our own. It's how we accept and reject what we perceive as right for our destinies.
