2006 PREDICTIONS
THESE ARE PREDICTIONS BY SOME OF OUR POSTERS. One thing I didn't say was the "Presidency is in the long night" that started in December and really gets going mid-February. So much to this year and I "predictions" will keep growing.
My Predictions For 2006 I agree Karl Rove will be Indicted, and the door is open for others too. John Bolton will fall as far as possible into disgrace, a long over due kick in the A double S. Dick Cheney is gone this year, one way or the other The AIPAC spy trial and investigation will come to the forefront and be shocking to most Americans, making them furious. The Abramoff scandal will explode. Not only members of congress and their aides be caught in its web, but so called moral leaders as well, it won’t be just Reed. The country will begin really roiling with anger around Sept. about money. It will be a culmination of heating bills, gas prices, money spent in Iraq, the costs of medication and skyrocketing interests rates for credit cards,( the usury of the cc companies now being plain to see.) Secrets, secrets, secrets coming out. Just how far the secret government set up by Cheney has usurped our democracy. He will be the fall guy for much that went wrong. At least they will try to pass the buck to him. What I am mostly feeling, and have for some time, is something of a cataclysmic nature coming. Don’t know what but it will cause, to quote Claudia Dikinis, the great unraveling, a loathing that will protect us from this happening again. I think of the vodiennes in New Orleans humming, their soft call for justice and their disdain for the man who claimed what he thinks is a crown and surrounded himself with sycophants and evil chancellors. There is a light coming and it is not the rupture of a rapture, but a soft, gentle beam that doesn’t need a booming voice to proclaim its power. It will wrap itself around us and we will feel the blessing as if in a dream. But that will be the waking, the true reality and an end to the nightmare. Don’t know when it will come, perhaps after more than enough voices are raised in prayer. But come it will and make its presence known in ways we would never expected. So look for the signs, as they are even now appearing. They are the little dots that give us hope and cause us to know that despite everything, all will be right. M Interesting predictions Sally. It goes right along with what I have been thinking for a while. Last night I did a Tarot reading and some numerology and came up with this. It looks like everything the gubment wanted to accomplish has been fulfilled. Even though the disasters, leaks and general frustrations have been increasing, the wheel has been set in motion and we will have to ride it out. More secrets will be revealed in the coming year which will only cause more problems for both our Government and the country. For now, the criminals are being exposed and they are being slowed down against their will. But, they have placed all of their goons in positions to their advantage so not much will come from their crimes (no jail time). Bush will be around for another 3 years, but Delay is out, Cheney will resign and soon expire, and Frist may end up in more trouble then he could ever imagined. The Abramoff scandel will bring down the government as we know it. The 2008 elections will be a complete joke. This years card for the USA is the Wheel of Fortune. The Wheel card has everything to do with Karma, both good and bad. I'm thinking that sometime in late spring or early summer we'll start feeling the effects of our gubments actions. As a result of the lies leading up to the war, torture and our governments refusal to work with the global community, we are going to be cut off and ignored. Sanctions against the USA and reduced economic support are very possible. This could lead to the housing bubble bursting, higher credit card rates and payments, and all around chaos in this country. Which would bring about Martial Law in the major cities due to the crime increases. They smaller towns and rural areas will not be that much of a concern for now. The Wheel's number is 10. So I also look at the Fool and The Magician. The fool brings us to the edge of a cliff that we will blindy walk off of if something does not pull us back. Just as the rats followed the Pied Piper to their deaths, our country seems posed to do the same. No one is pulling us back from the edge. Because the Fool is at the beginning we are wide open for a different and new way of doing things. We can continue to fall into Facism or we can find a safer way around this cliff. The Magician says we can create what we would like to happen though communication. Isn't the internet a great tool! We can't do it alone, but together we may be able to keep this sinking ship afloat a little longer. We as a whole need to become just as vocal and mean as the right wing nuts, but instead of spreading lies we spread truths. After all, we are not out to take over the world to dictate, we are ready to take over the world for peace and fairness to all. One more thought, given all the recent buzz, Warner is not the one. Posted by: M. on January 2, 2006 01:03 AM
PREDICTIONS FOR 2006 January through September is stressful for the Republican party. The grand cross in the stars which will intensify from January through the middle of July is affecting the president. It shows a fixation of mind on the president’s part that is unrealistic. His lesson is to let go of the old and get into the new. He will not learn this lesson. He has chosen to learn the hard way. Promising to rebuild New Orleans and fund a War at the same time is unrealistic when considering the amount of cost. I am having visions that I don’t want to have. I see America in such a negative position financially by the end of this summer (2006) that protests in Washington D.C. will be some of the largest we have seen in the history of America. I read Richard Nolle's 2006 Highlights & he is saying this year will be a major turning point in this country & the world at large. He is a bit pompous & egocentric but a very good astrologer. A point he makes that I feel is valid is that we don't often recognize how great a change we're making until we can look back on it. From personal experience (having all the outerplanets tromp over my sun, moon, mars, mercury, venus & ASC over a period of years . . .), it's looking back over one's life that major shifts of direction can be noted. Ray Merriman's track record with the Market & Economy are quite good too. I was a little dismayed to read he feel's bush will make a come back late summer/fall in time for the '06 elections. It will be fun to look back & review these predictions later this year! Posted by: dederkl on January 2, 2006 01:45 AMI have read Lou Valentino before and appreciate his visions very much. What gives this even more credibility is the recent speech of the retired Canadian government minister about the presence of ETs and the U.S. government plans to create intergalactic weapons to fight them. Psychic Predictions for 2006
http://204.155.170.154/artman/publish/article_1252.shtml Posted by: wv on January 2, 2006 02:03 AMPoll: Should illegal wiretaps continue?
http://www.awaretek.com/podcasts/ Posted by: wv on January 2, 2006 03:29 AMI started to post this one last night, but got pulled away from it to tie up some last-minute, turn-of the year loose ends: Bye, bye Nation-State, Hello again, City-State? With the steadily mounting financial woes of the Federal and State governments, many local communities, cities and regions will find themselves increasingly on their own in terms of government financing and support in 2006. This will mean deep and deeper cuts to public services, police, fire, education, etc, and loss of employment for many people in these areas. In economically troubled regions, particularly in the older cities of the Midwest, the pinch will be felt even more severly than in the booming "Sunbelt" cities of the South and Southwest. But only at first. In a number of cases, central cities and their suburbs will be forced to seriously examine, if not take action to consolidate and "regionalize" aforementioned services, up to and possibly including administrative functions on a regional level. This will be particularly true in struggling city-regions like Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Cincinnati who have been more seriously examining regioning plans over the past few years. Eventually, the trend will spread to metro regions throughout the U.S. and 2006 will see them take the first big steps to that end. The end result in about 10 to 15, (or 2015 to 2020) years could very well be a number of tenacious and thriving multi-county, "neo-city-state" governments scattered around the country whose primary raison d'etre will be based around resource management. Proper food, water and energy attention and management will be key to their survival. As a result, state boundaries may merge, change or be eliminated entirely where common interests supercede traditional political boundaries. For instance, Cleveland and Pittsburgh have much more in common than Pittsburgh and Philadelphia do as cities of PA, or Cleveland and Cincinnati for that matter, as far as cities of Ohio stand. Entirely new political entities could eventually emerge along new, more practical lines from the ashes of dramatically weakened, bankrupt state and federal governments. The seeds of much of this, however, may be planted this year. Other predictions: -Gas prices will climb nationally to new, sustained highs,($4.00+ per gallon) raising anew old concerns about our energy policy, along with Americans' blood pressure at the pump. The mainstream American public will learn of successful efforts towards establishing energy independence in countries such as Germany, France and China, and will finally (and very angrily) demand those changes be made here in the US. The GOP-led Congress, however, will mostly pretend that it isn't hearing what it is hearing, to its' own peril in November, if not shortly thereafter. -Speaking of energy independence, the rest of the Western World (and many parts of the East) will collectively make huge strides forward in energy efficiency this year, dramatically reducing their dependency on Oil by better than expected margins. While the US, dominated by desperately corrupt Oil, Auto and Energy industries, lags woefully behind, and in fact only increases its' dependancy on Oil. There will be major breakthroughs in gas mileage efficiency, electrical storage capacity, hydrogen power and solar power, and the EU, China, Japan, Indonesia and newly ascendant South and Central Americas will be the major beneficiaries of those. -Bird Flu won't bite this year, but another dreaded disease, possibly mosquito-borne, may sweep through the South/Southeastern US, in some way related to or originating from New Orleans. Florida may see particular problems with this. -On the subject of New Orleans, there won't be quite as many hurricanes this year as there were last year, not enough to breach the Greek Alphabet as we did this year up to Zeta. Nevertheless, there will still be plenty, and they will achieve Category 3 or 4 status on a regular basis. New Orleans will be spared, but the Carolinas will be hit by a high-level Category 3 in late summer. Florida will be pounded by at least 2 or 3 Category 5s, one of which could do severe damage to Miami. A stray storm moving up into the Gulf of Mexico will give Houston another brief scare. -Dick Cheney will be gone from power, and gone from this existence before the end of this year, fully aware of his imminent departure on both fronts, but stubbornly resisting his end to the very last of his energy. Rather than repent for his dark, destructive path, during his last days, he'll lapse into increasing delusional ruminations about how he should have ordered tactical nukes dropped on Baghdad at the outset of the war, and had Saddam tortured. He will be forced out of power by a shocking revelation of the hand he played in manipulating the events of 9/11. -A scandal will envelop Rumsfeld's tenure at the Pentagon and may force him into resignation to join his buddy Cheney in retirement. If the scandal unfolds before November and Rumsfeld resigns, his replacement will be temporary until after the elections. Rumsfeld's permanent replacement for Secretary of Defense will be the unlikely choice of post-election defeated Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman. -Another scandal will emerge surrounding Colin Powell, tarnishing his reputation in the eyes of Americans, if not further in the eyes of the world itself. He may also let publicly slip more revelations about his opposition to and disdain for Cheney and the NeoCons. -Condi Rice will be given a chance to prove her best qualities before the American people, but will come off looking quite confused and unprepared in the eyes of many. She'll have several opportunities to do this, but each one will be a rather abysmal repeat performance of the last, leading many to see her as out of touch and sloppy at best, or incompetent and clueless at worst. -Former President Ford will pass away this year. His funeral will be rather quiet and serene -- a non-state funeral. Poppy Bush will suffer a debilitating stroke, but will somehow manage to survive and make somewhat of a recovery. It won't be publically revealed, but he will suddenly become very fearful of his own mortality, and seek some sort of path to eternal life, not necessarily a Christian path, however. Dark, disturbing and even disgusting secrets about the Bush Family and their legacy will finally begin to see the light of day about this time. -Revelations about deep-rooted corruption in Ohio will emerge in March, and will be tied to the Abramoff-DeLay machine scandal. One shocking revelation will tie Abramoff with the 2004 Election results and money handled by California Gov. Schwarzenegger, among countless others. Gov. Taft will be indicted and will be forced to resign. Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, Attorney General Jim Petro and State Auditor Betty Montgomery will also have their connections revealed, will be forced to resign from their respective offices, and have their gubernatorial asperations destroyed. Blackwell sees prison time. The Ohio GOP will be decimated, and Ohio's state government will be shaken to its foundation. Posted by: NEOBuckeye on January 2, 2006 03:31 AMNo solid predictions from me yet. Still think that the congress will go Democrat. Then the stuff hits the fan for sure. The wire tapping story will not go away and will contribute to GWB going down early 2007 if not before. I think Cheney was done for the minute Pluto Progressed hit his MC and opposed his something or other in the 6th. That's when I alerted Astroworld to start counting. It was last summer I think. I also think his health will be very much involved. He is so worried that his games will be found out. Bound to bring on the ultimate coronary. I also think we are going to hear big time from Fitzgerald again. When Uranus hits his natal stellium in Virgo by opposition. Either that, or he'll explode from within from over charged nerve endings. The Abramoff hearings will bring down this Congress. And Delay may finally be brought up for crimes worse than money laundering and illegal redistricting schemes. Murder may be whispered in the Washington winds...that he was instrumental in arranging a murder...mob style. I think Bush will go. Not early, but I think he will go. By 2007 the wheels will be grinding him down. As I said, that Congress is key. I sincerely believe that this drama will play out until the very words fundamentalist and Republican will send shivers down all out spines. Neptune dissolves that which has crystalized (Saturn). And Saturn will not tolerate illusion (Neptune). We will be more hated. And the country that likes to compare itself to the shinning beacon upon a hill and all that rot will be finally labeled - out loud and the greatest exercise in hypocracy (s.?) ever sold. What do you expect when you have Jupiter conjunct the Sun. Big ego. Big, big inflated ego. The US has Jupiter conjunct the Sun in the 7th house. For the Greeks, one of the greatest of sins was Hubris. Best to all this New Year.
Yet there are heros amongst us. There really are. And by the way, has anybody seen Good Night and Good Luck? Posted by: Beasley on January 2, 2006 05:41 AMI've seen it, Beasley and liked it very, very much. I hope David Statharin (not sure of his last name) wins an award for his acting. I really enjoyed reading your and NeoBuckley's predictions. I guess they are a combination of astrology, intuition and common sense. It is such a great blessing that your mother will turn 100. 27 days sounds like she has an Aquarius sun. May God Bless her greatly. Let us know more about her and this event. She has every right to be pissed or anything she wants to be - she's earned it! Posted by: on January 2, 2006 05:51 AMBeasley, why is your mother Pissed? and congratulations on her 100th birthday. I have seen "Good Night and Good Luck" it was terrific I thought. Can I post these predictions Beasley in the "Prediction 2006" article? Posted by: Sally on January 2, 2006 05:52 AMActually, I'm enjoying all the predictions. This is fun, Sally. Many of them have found consenus. Posted by: on January 2, 2006 05:52 AMBeasley...wow....100 at the end of the month. Quite an achievement, and greater still that she is pissed ! I love it. My mom will be 97 May 16. NeoBuckeye's piece on city/ states vs. nation/states echoes something a friend of mine has been saying for years...and in fact said the other night on the phone .... almost exactly. It should be an interesting year....sort of like the Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times. I wonder what they will call this, in the future, when they talk about this last 6 years .... Watergate still = Nixon....and Camelot = JFK.....and for Clinton, probably Monica gate....but that chapter is over and there still may be more for him. And this one? Will it come down to PlameGate or will there be something much much worse than that? Seems it could be... Posted by: on January 2, 2006 06:27 AM-Another for the Fall -- Ohio Congressman Sherrod Brown wins a decisive victory over Senator Mike DeWine, who is indirectly tarred and feathered by the numerous scandals enveloping the Republican Party. DeWine won't be linked directly to Abramoff, but he'll still pay dearly in the fallout. -On a similar note, former Marine Paul Hackett won't win the Senate race vs. Brown, but he will see an increase in popularity/notoriety, and may receive some attention and support in some form or another from Howard Dean. He'll have another chance to run against mean Jean Schmidt in a year, but may find an even better opportunity and a door opening for him. -A certain white-hatted Akron-based Business Tycoon will be revealed to be the "Abramoff" of Ohio. With the revelation will come exposure of an elaborate money-laundering scheme operating through his multi-state network of for-profit charter schools. -Back to Dean, if he is forced from DNC Chair, it will be to the ultimate, possibly fatal detriment of the Democratic Party, and he will leave the Dems if they don't want him. Dean still has his Democracy for America infrastructure in place, however (now headed by his brother). He will refocus his efforts under DFA, and it could become the foundation of a genuine moderate-left, third party and an increasingly crucial player in 2008 and beyond. He may or may not seek office in 2008 (there may not be much of a Presidency left to seek), but Dean will be a very influential figure in politics. Long Range Forecast: (beyond 2006) Linda Schurman is a fine astrologer and her newsletters are excellent. This is her New Year one with her predictions. Posted by: Sally on January 2, 2006 07:11 AMI intend to listen to the traitorous clear channel rightwing liars, and call in once a day to counter what they are saying with truthtelling! Oh & Beasley......... That wasn't clear.......What I meant was SOME people always did live longer due to evolution & the survival of the fittest. I just finished talking to George Noory on Coast-To-Coast and I told him that would post dates and my 2006 predictions on my site. More elaborated predictions are also at drturi.com/predictions.php But before anything I also told him to be ready for earthquakes, volcano or explosions for the next 2 to 3 days and while doing the show I received this memo from USGS. 2006/01/02 06:10 M 7.3 SOUTH SANDWICH ISLANDS Z= 10km 60.81S 21.46W. Here they are as I said on the air.
Here are the worse dates for the year 2006.You better make note on your calendar or pay the price.
Ignoring the Dragon's Tail or the Universal laws will bring heavy penalty to the uninformed. Help me to further mankind's cosmic consciousness and save precious lives. Plan around those dates or be more careful of what you say, what you do or sign, where you go and the people you meet during those days. Be safe, be aware don't expect Jesus to save you, be smart, cast your fears aside and don't be a victim of ignorance. I am here to guide you, I am here to help you and I am here to share my gift with you. Make a good use of it and again pass this newsletter on, you will save lives. Blessings To All Dr. Turi
Posted 1/1/2006 7:01 AM Updated 1/1/2006 7:19 AM The potential deal for turning over biblical lands to develop a tourist destination underlines how ties have strengthened in recent years between Israel and evangelical Christian groups that support the Jewish state. For other Christian denominations, which represent tens of thousands of Arabs living in the Holy Land, the deal raises questions about possible threats to the sensitive status quo in the Galilee region where they have owned land for hundreds of years. The land envisioned for the lease also is near a politically contentious area. It lies just under two miles from territory that Syria wants returned in any future peace deal with Israel, said a Syrian expert on geography, Hamed Halaby. Israel says evangelical leaders have agreed to raise $50 million to build a Heritage Center on the site, hoping to attract tens of thousands of religious pilgrims a year. Robertson said in a statement that he was "fully cooperating" with the project but no deal had been formalized. He added that he is thrilled "there will be a place in the Galilee where evangelical Christians from all over the world can come to celebrate the actual place where Jesus Christ lived and taught." Israeli Tourism Minister Avraham Hirschson said he expects a contract to be signed soon. "There is no central place today in Israel for the evangelical Christians," Hirschson said. "Here they will be able to re-enact what happened." Israel is considering leasing the land for free, said Ari Marom, director of the ministry's North American department. He said the site could eventually draw as many as 1 million pilgrims a year. That many visitors would spend about $1.5 billion in Israel and support almost 40,000 jobs, he said. "It's a win-win situation," Marom said. "Israel is giving over public land to a more or less public organization that will be used by millions of people." The park area is on the northern end of the Sea of Galilee northeast of Capernaum, a favorite site for pilgrims because the New Testament calls it Jesus' "own city" (Matthew 9:1) and they can view the foundation of a synagogue where he preached (Mark 1:21). Under the plan, the Christians would build a broadcast center from which to evangelize, an open-air chapel and an auditorium for re-enacting Jesus' journeys in the area, a Tourism Ministry brochure says. Israel also plans to develop areas around the holy sites. Paths lined with sculptures and plaques would connect a triangle of holy sites: Capernaum; the Mount of Beatitudes, where tradition holds Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount; and Tabgha on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, where the faithful believe he performed the miracle of the loaves and fishes. Evangelical Christians contribute millions of dollars to Israel every year and support the Jewish state in its conflict with the Palestinians, though the two sides are at odds over theological issues. Some evangelicals believe that if Jews don't ultimately accept Jesus, then they will perish. Israel, meanwhile, objects to the proselytizing that is a mainstay of the evangelical movement. At the center itself, however, evangelicals would not preach to Jews. "The Tourism Ministry recognizes that it's time for us to have a stake in this as well," said David Parsons, spokesman for the International Christian Embassy, a Jerusalem-based group that represents evangelical Christians. Other Christian denominations that own property in Galilee are concerned about the deal. The Greek Orthodox Church, which has close to 90,000 Arab followers in the Holy Land, criticized Israel for not consulting its leaders on the issue. "I react with skepticism and reservations," said Archbishop Aristarchos, the church's chief secretary. "This is a violation of the church's status quo, because each church has its territory and other churches cannot interfere." Father Athanasius Macora, a spokesman for the Franciscan order, which since 1338 has overseen lands for the Roman Catholic Church at Galilee holy sites, said the Holy Land should be open to all denominations. But he also said Israel should be careful not to alter the pastoral landscape. From USA Today via AP Sally, another thing unusual about the start of this year is the 3 sets of mutually receptive planets happening. I haven't read much on it but it seems like cosmic eightball we're caught in with Jupiter and Pluto channeling each other, Neptune and Uranus channeling each other, and until late January - Saturn channeling the Sun! With a retro Venus going on also, I get the feeling everyone *has* to clear out the old because it's going to happen anyway. Is the Cosmic question for us to find out what we really control in life? Posted by: Jill G on January 2, 2006 08:15 PMHappy New Year All! Excellent and fascinating reading here. Thanks to all for the insights and predictions. It's a great idea Sally since I just "google" for the new year predictions every January until I find something interesting and spend several hours, if not days, on it so it's so handy to find so much of it here. I don't get why Beasley's mother is pissed either. I did have a young person tell me once that "she hopes she doesn't live to be very old." When I asked her why she felt that way, she said that "she didn't want to suffer through old age." I was stunned since this is the complete opposite of my feeling. It is not true that all old people suffer in old age! but she doesn't buy it. Posted by: Beverly on January 2, 2006 11:26 PMRemember Bette Davis' comment? "Old Age Ain't for Sissies!" Maybe not in all parts of the world, but in many areas of the U.S. woman outlive men and have to contend with disease. I have met some women in the South who age beautifully and wonder if it equates to their easygoing attitudes as compared to the stressed-out Northern components. I think more people are and will live longer and healthier but there is a definitely a lot of poverty, weakness and debilitation among the elderly -- and just when they have the wisdom they need to enjoy life! Posted by: Sharon on January 3, 2006 12:23 AMSharon, I agree with you about the poverty amongst the elderly and think it will only get worse with this president and the Republican (and supposedly Christian????) Congress. The elderly rich though should fare much better with all of the help they receive from the tax cuts....that they don't need. Seems that Mr. Bush has scuffed his face up again! Digby thinks it abnormal. He obviously has some on-going co-ordination problems. That makes three times....that we know of. He seems to love to show us all his suffs too. So photogenic. So, I see on another site discovered by chance that Bush tangled with a cedar tree. He told about it during a visit to a military hospital. He described his ordeal/injury as "combat with a cedar." I guess this was supposed to soften the very real and permanent injuries suffered by those he visited. How cruel and misguided. Comparing a scratch to a missing limb/s, blindness, deafness, etc. It certainly mocks the stark reality that real combat is. I know there are many of us here who cannot tolerate listening to him, much less watching him give a speech.....but I do love funny stuff and would like for you all to see this Bush impersonater give this little speech. It is very, very funny with all the right gestures! and all the bad use of vocabulary placed just right. It is the first listing on the "favorite videos" under the heading Pol Videos, upper left hand on home page. p.s. He is loosing support among the top military professionals as reported by many sources. Heard on NPR yesterday, but huffingtonpost.com has the story if interested. Posted by: Beverly on January 3, 2006 01:37 AMNot only that but he spoke from that army hospital, and when he walked to the mike, he was very stooped! It seemed as if he wasn't wearing his bottom teeth? Re: ageing..........yes it is harder for older people to survive these days. First item.....poor wages and fudging with the social security figures. Johnson was the first to raid the SS lock box , followed by every Prez since! Imagine how much that trust would be worth today if it had remained intact! We can't afford to live in the more expensive prosperous areas, where our kids have the good jobs, so our Grandchildren can't walk to our houses after school as I used to do! Or some of us are being run ragged raising our Grandchildren, while the parents are overseas fighting or in jail for drugs, or just irresponsible! Sally, You can post any, all or parts of whatever predictions I make. It's such a pleasure interacting with this site. My mother is pissed off that she is going to be 100...that no decent self-respecting person should live so long. And she's doubly pissed at the nation. She has read every book since the 9/11 report...even Kitty Kelly's book on the Shrubs. She is now on Jimmy Carter's new book on the Moral Crisis of the US. And she is pissed. She has been there and done it all. Born Jan. 28th, 1906, Wilmington DE at 3:10 AM on a kitchen table for god's sake! First woman driver in Lebanon when she and my father went out to Beirut in 1945. Intersting life. DIFFICULT early life. And quite a nasty fighter at that. Not your sweet push over Granny type. We fight grandly just about every day and then hug and make up every night. Great drama. Posted by: Beasley on January 3, 2006 02:25 AMBeasley, your "grandmama drama" is cracking me up! Unlike her, I'm glad to get the chance to grow older--I'm trying to postpone my midlife crisis until I'm 65, in hopes I'll live to be at least 130......(LOL) Just be glad for every day you have in the presence of living history like her--both sets of my grandparents were long gone(save for my paternal grandmother)before I was 6 years old. Namaste and Happy New Year to all, I LOVE reading the predictions.... Posted by: Garry on January 3, 2006 02:37 AMAnd finally, she is very, very LONELY. Well...all about aging...funny how it pops up in a generation...like the person who lives to be 100 is the last one in musical chairs... My uncle Abe lived to be 99.5....my cousin who took care of him said he kept asking if he was 100 yet...since they were certain he wouldn't make it, they just started telling him he was. He was happy, died happy... My 3nd cousin Marie (on my dad's side) is 6 months older than my mother...her mind is fine, doesn't walk with a cane and has no stock phrases about aging. My mother is 96.5 years and has them all...ESPECIALLY....getting old isn't for sissies . Probably what all of them have in common is that fighting spirit Beasely's mom has...! The oldest person who was my ancestor Patience Faunce Kempton: 1673 to 1779....105 years old...over 300 years ago! Can you imagine, in those days and those conditions? Come to think of it, Beasely, she, like your own mother, witnessed a Revolution...I am sure your mom must be sure it is coming also! Posted by: on January 3, 2006 03:19 AMAnd i had an ancestor, who was shipwrecked off Sandy Hook, her new husband killed by the Indians who took her captive. But...........they turned her oiver to the Dutch in Nuew Amsterdam, ( Ransom oof Red Chief?) where she married John Stout, had 10 childrten & lived to be 112! Age doesn't matter! I'll be 76 tomorrow (4th) and What fun to pop in and find all these riches! thank you everyone. what fabulous personal stories on aging. Hej WV Like so many of you our family is blessed with vital longevity ~ my father says it's handy being a stubborn swede it's just a little push to perservering!
Not being an astrologer i have no astro-political prediction to offer but i am in agreement with Neobuckeye about the regional govs i notice a trend to more progressive libertarian governing with emphasis on practical. Back in the late 70's early 80's there was a lot of speculation about the "nine nations" of america hre's some info i think there is a good chance that Phil Angelides former state treasurer of California will be next governor and if so we will definately see some regional brokering of energy, water and other resources between the "nine nations" He will test the grip of the mega energy corporations. I'm loving how SA and Mexico are bargaining in the energy market right now with states and cities. I wondering if Occidental Petroleum might not bite the dust....one can dream. The other trend i note is alot of the alternative lifestyle experiments of the 60-70's are finding new form. Multi-house projects of charm surrounding a greensquare are springing up all over the NW the houses are less than 800squares and an updated alternative to communal living. i have extreme respect for American creative can-do spirit. the "2006 everything burns" ends by June and the next cycle begins, if we can be clear we can create something grand....gradual progress. Posted by: tseka on January 3, 2006 04:57 AMHappy Birthday WV! Here's a remiinder from Paul Levy............ Can we do anything collectively to stop this? Intelligence and military sources in the United States and abroad are reporting on various factors that indicate a U.S. military hit on Iranian nuclear and military installations, that may involve tactical nuclear weapons, is in the final stages of preparation. There is concern that a series of attacks on Iranian nuclear installations will create a Chernobyl-like radioactive cloud that would be caught up in monsoon weather in the Indian Ocean. http://waynemadsenreport.com/ Happy Birthday fellow Cappy WV! Posted by: bhakti on January 3, 2006 02:46 PMKnow you've likely heard this before, but I love this definition of Capricorns - who are old when they're young and young when they (should be) old: The Winter Rose (who blooms in the winter of Life). Posted by: bbuster on January 3, 2006 03:20 PMYes bbuster, As Paul Levy says.........it only takes one person, to make a change! Cindy Sheehan: http://www.truthout.org/index.htm Fabulous descriptions of Capricorn, and, WV, you are one fabulous 76 yr. older (or will be tomorrow) - one of the smartest and most involved I've ever met. I wish you LOVE, PERFECT HEALTH, CONTINUED HIGH ENERGY & INVOLVEMENT IN LIFE & GOD'S PROTECTION & BLESSINGS! I was interested to hear your attitude about Pluto transiting your planets. Although I have a moon/pluto conjunction in Leo, I've been through a lot as a child emotionally and throughout my life (Saturn in the 4th?) and my response to things can be "depression" at times. I also have Mars in Pisces, in its fall, and continually need to find ways to motivate myself. All this leads up to the fact that as Pluto approaches Capricorn, it will square my 1 Libra Saturn in the 4th house (ouch!), it will oppose my 6 Cancer Uranus (12th house conjunct ascendant), and square my husband's 8 Aries Sun (8th house). A few years later, Uranus will reach Aries, and Neptune will be crossing my sun sign. Right now Uranus is playing with my 9th house sun & jupiter Pisces placements and moving towards my 10th house mars, venus, NN Pisces conjunction (I've had a lot of change and activity in the last 3 years - my intuitive counselor predicts a lot of success in real estate, something I'm doing & enjoying, but it brings no real inspiration or inner joy!) Frankly, I'm frightened of some of these transits and want to feel more like you do, WV. The events that seem to coincide are 1) we will be undergoing home reconstruction for a while because we're doing it on the cheap 2) my stepson is moving here to help but he's very flighty & my husband enables him a bit, so there will be challenges there 3) my mother-in-law, age 84, and wonderful & beauiful but fragile, might have health issues and or the need to lean on us. She currently has a strong, healthy male partner. I can also see a lot of family activity around whether to sell out mutual properties and divest from this area. I can also see fighting amoung siblings as everyone is very assertive in my husband's family (except the mom). PQ, I'm glad Paul Levy is clarifying his message & making it more concise. He's always made a lot of sense but he goes on & on (like I'm doing). Tseka, what they've already done a little of here in N.O. & is in the works for future rebuilding is multi-income housing in the same development. It's been done beautifully (I think) and there will be improved versions coming. Green space is definitely in the plan. Lastly, the Iran attack plan -- a lot of the predictions addressed this - some suggest this year, others suggest 2007 or 2008. Let's continue to meditate and pray for peace - may God's plan be realized on earth. I am about to buy the computer game: "The Wild Divine" to help me meditate - anyone have any experience with it. I'm getting it through ebay to cut the $159 cost down. Posted by: Sharon on January 3, 2006 04:52 PMAs Cap'n Sally said, the "long dark night" for Smirk&Co approacheth. From the lies that got us into Iraq, to the lies that keep us there, from the corruption that is the Republican Party to the corruption that pervades our largest corporations, from the secret orders that take away our civil liberties to the secret prisons where torture is the norm. The breadth and scope of the corruption is staggering. But, as we try to take stock of the horrendous calamities our leaders have brought us, we might ask the question: Are these events nightmare aberrations, just a hiccup in our history? Bush said yesterday in defense of the eavesdropping, "This program has been reviewed, constantly reviewed, by people throughout my administration. And it still is reviewed. Not only has it been reviewed by Justice Department officials, it's been reviewed by members of the United States Congress," he said. "It's a vital, necessary program." But the New York Times revealed Sunday that when Bush couldn't get top level clearance for the wiretaps from deputy attorney general James Comey, two aides--Andrew Card, White House chief of staff, and Alberto Gonzalez, then White House counsel and now attorney general--went to George Washington University Hospital here, in a circuitous effort to get Attorney General John Ashcroft, who was recovering from gallbladder surgery, to sign off on it Moreover, the AP reports that Bush, in Buffalo in 2004, was asked about a remark he made at an appearance in support of the Patriot Act, the president said, "Any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap," Bush said, "a wiretap requires a court order." He added, according to the AP: "Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so." Poll: Is Abramoff the tip of an iceberg or just an anomaly? Camille, I did read and it is an outstanding article, I do hope it gets wide circulation. The Abramoff Scandals seem to cover a huge amount of people. Think Progressive has a great score sheet, but it still doesn't cover the Foreign Money Laundering Abramoff was involved in, as far as I can tell. It doesn't look like they are even going to charge him with that or it's involved with another separate investigation. None of the Bush family is on this list and I wouldn't think Abramoff,or Kidan would be safe if they were naming anyone in the Bush Family. I read where Abramoff had been coorporating with the DOJ for several months before it was announced to the public or before he entered a plea. So there has been some back and forth negotiations on this whole thing probably since David Safavian was arrested. This is the Score Sheet on this group. Some have been investigated and some have not. I am kind of surprised not to see Bill Richardson's name on any of these lists. There is something odd with him and his involvement. I have a friend who works with the New Mexico government and she said nothing happens in that state without his knowledge. http://www.thinkprogress.org/abramoff http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2006/1/3/151354/3976 Pelosi Releases Declassified Letter "House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi today released a letter written from herself to the National Security Agency in October 2001, as well as the response it received," reports Raw Story editor/publisher John Byrne. I do know that he initially put a very aggressive straight arrow prosecutor on the case and when he left Bush pulled that guy and put this woman in charge. By Tom Engelhardt The "cabal," as Lawrence Wilkerson, Colin Powell's chief of staff at the State Department, has called Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and various of their neoconish pals, stewed over this for years, along with a group of lawyers who were prepared, once the moment came, to give a sheen of legality to any presidential act. The group of them used the post-9/11 moment to launch a wholesale campaign to recapture the "lost" powers of the imperial presidency, attempting not, as in the case of Nixon, to create an alternate national security apparatus but to purge and capture the existing one for their private purposes. Under George Bush, Dick Cheney, and their assorted advisers, acolytes, and zealots, a virtual cult of unconstrained presidential power has been constructed, centered around the figure of Bush himself. While much has been made of feverish Christian fundamentalist support for the President, the real religious fervor in this administration has been almost singularly focused on the quite un-Christian attribute of total earthly power. Typical of the fierce ideologues and cultists now in the White House is Cheney's new Chief of Staff David Addington. The Washington Post's Dana Milbank described him this way back in 2004 (when he was still Cheney's "top lawyer"):

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israeli police have evidence which they believe will prove that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's family received a bribe of three million dollars from an Austrian billionaire, a police spokesman told AFP. Spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld said the evidence had been gathered in late December during a police raid on a house in Israel which is owned by the family of Austrian financier Martin Schlaff. "On December 22, 2005, the national police investigation unit searched Schlaff's house (in Israel) and confiscated documents, paperwork, phones and his computers," Rosenfeld said. "We suspect that there could be proof within Schlaff's computer data that the sum of three million dollars was transferred to the Sharon family." However, although the police have actual possession of the computer hardware, they have been prevented from examining the data by a temporary court order issued after an appeal by Schlaff's lawyers, Rosenfeld said. "Since December 22, the national unit for investigations has not been able to confirm these suspicions after Schlaff turned to the courts who have temporarily denied police access to Schlaff's computer data," he said. An Austrian Jewish investor, Schlaff is one of the main owners of the Oasis Casino in the West Bank city of Jericho, which has been closed since the start of the Palestinian uprising five years ago. The bribe is thought to be connected to a long-running corruption scandal which has plagued the Sharon family over illegal campaign contributions during the 1999 elections. Officials in Sharon's office refused to comment on the report, which was first broadcast late Tuesday by private Channel 10 television. Channel 10 showed footage of a police document which had been presented to a Tel Aviv district court in which it outlined evidence of the alleged bribe. The money is thought to be linked to an unresolved corruption scandal in which Sharon was suspected of receiving a 1.5-million-dollar loan from South African businessman Cyril Kern that was allegedly used to refund contributions to his 1999 leadership campaign after they were deemed irregular. The news came just hours after one of Sharon's sons, Omri, resigned from parliament ahead of his sentencing for providing false testimony and falsifying documents in a case linked to the financing of one of his father's leadership campaigns. Omri, who pleaded guilty to the charges in November, is due to be sentenced on January 23. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060103/wl_mideast_afp/israelsharonaustria WV Happy, Happy Birthday! Posted by: Beasley on January 5, 2006 06:01 AMHappy Birthday Fellow Capricorns bhakti and WV! Today is a milestone birthday for myself, the big 5-0h my Goddess, LOL. I saved a bottle of bubbly to celebrate with which I just popped open. When I turned 40 I had an 80 year old mentor back then, he gifted me with a story, advice, adage, that his 80 year old mentor told him on his 40th: He said to him, "Son, you haven't even pissed in the stream". And so mine started with "Missy..." I sure miss him, wonder what he would tell me now. I don't do charts or readings on myself like I do for others, I seek and appreciate those insights objectively from someone else. I will Love and Bless anyone who would like to interpret some short highlights of my 50th year that you see, I would be humbly grateful. My birth data: Jan 5 1956, 10:54 AM, Corpus Christi,Texas (I'm from and live in Michigan though) Peace & Harmony to All, Posted by: ShezSpiritEye on January 5, 2006 08:52 AM Ben Bernanke will take the reins of the Federal Reserve this year. Does anyone have his birth data and that of the FED? Posted by: captain (Tim) on January 8, 2006 05:55 AMPsychic Predictions for 2006
Absolutely Free Psychic Reading Drawing My 2006 predictions Martial Law in the U.S.: This is a must for the elite rulers. There are many reasons why this will happen. First you have G.W. and his neocon buddies who do not want to face war crime charges and G.W. must become a dicator. All the laws are in place for this and only another Pearl Harbor or 9/11 event needs to occur. I predict small nucleur bombs going off in various cities shortly followed by martial law. China repossess the U.S: After martial law is declared in the U.S. the dollar will collapse. The U.S. government knows that the majority of U.S. citizens are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire and are expecting all the things that were promised to them like Social security, medicare, etc. The money is not there and it is the government or the baby boomers as far as they are concerned. "Them or Us" Baby Boomers were considered "assets" while they were working but when they retire are nothing but "liabilities" that must be eliminated. The U.S. is and has been broke for a long time now and the only thing that has kept us afloat is the selling off of our debt. China has held most of our dedt and want to cash it in. They have been kept at bay for many years now. First Jimmy Carter gave the Pananma Canal back to Panama which was just a ruse as China now runs it. Clinton was forced to give then Nucluer secrets. Also jobs have been sent over there but there isn't much left for China to get from us except the land itself. They hold the repossession papers for the U.S. and once martial law is declared the U.S. government will make their escape as the army that is already in the U.S. in the form of illegal Mexicans will be armed by the Chinese with the weapons they have stored in Mexico shipped in via the Panama canal. U.S. Military to rescue?: No I'm afraid not. Their demise is being planned right now. The U.S. will attack Iran at the end of March and what is left of the military will be destroyed over there. Posted by: Rota on February 25, 2006 05:57 AMI agree with you .
The pure of evil of this adminsitration is seemingly endless- They dare call themselves christians? If the Democrats can come back after the midterm elections I can see Bush being impeached , otherwise the Republicans will contol everything, and turn a blind eye to and support his crimes....I fear a 911 type calamity will be orchestrated by Bush's people-on US soil-before the 2008 Presidential election, and will be used as a pretext to cancel the 2008 presidental election. The end result will be a fascist state, and vocal opponents of Bush will be arrested, and shipped to the detention centers that Haliburton has been contracted to build, or they'll be rounded up and shot. An America Gestappo like police force will be created, no doubt called the 'freedom police' to go after 'subversives'- But there will be a very vigourous underground resistance composed of citizens that will fight back, and quite violently...On the positive side, civil war will follow.....
