NEW THREAD ON A MECURY RETROGRADE

Jung, The Symbolic Life CW18, p. 571
"The whole of a Nation never reacts like a normal modern individual, but always like a primitive group being...Man in the group is always unreasonable, irresponsible, emotional, erratic, and unreliable. Crimes the individual alone could never stand are freely committed by the group being...The larger an organization the lower its morality."

The above quote is often at the bottom of Claudia Dikinis emails and it's a beautiful way of saying "mob mentality" and that seems to be what is going on in Washington and their friends around the country.

I wasn't sure whether to put this on the front or back so the back won out. The site has been down at least all day and I've received numerous emails as to why. The last time this happened I explained the problems and I thought folks would remember that explanation. I don't know why I thought that because I forget explanations to issues as I drift into a fog of swirling interests. Anyway let me plainly state again:

WHEN EVER THIS SITE GOES DOWN (unless I tell you it's going to be taken off)IT IS EITHER HACKERS OR PROBLEMS WITH HARD WORKING PEOPLE - POSITIVE FUSION AND MOVEABLE TYPE - AND THEIR SITES. IT IS NEVER DUE TO ANY POSTER.

That said, I will tell you or request that you NOT publish full articles on this site as I could (1) run into copyright laws (2) it cuts down on available bandwidth and (3) some posts take up so much space that it fills up from top to bottom taking forever to get from top to bottom and become overwhelming. Please just put links and save the space for your observations or remarks (which are usually the most interesting anyway) It's ok to put snippets of an article with a link but keep the snippets to a paragraph.

I have run into the issue of having to upgrade my Astroworld System. I won't pretend that this is a financially sound undertaking for me, but I will keep on as long as I can.

Please remember, I would tell you if I was going to take Astroworld off the "air" so to speak. The page would not just go blank, not by my hand. I don't know how stable our "fix-its" might be, but I hope it will stay up for at least a bit.

Thank you for your patience.

Your hard work and generosity are appreciated Sally. Astroworld is a wonderful place to come for reading and conversation during these times of confusion/enlightenment.

Where's the outrage???

Roadside bomb kills 14 marines
Latest attack in insurgent stronghold brings death toll of US soldiers to 43 in 10 days

Michael Howard in Baghdad and Jamie Wilson in Washington
Thursday August 4, 2005

Guardian

America yesterday faced one of its most deadly days in Iraq since the start of the war when a massive roadside bomb killed 14 marines in an insurgent stronghold close to the Syrian border and news emerged of the murder of a US journalist in Basra.
The dead soldiers were members of the 3rd battalion, 25th marines based in Cleveland, Ohio, who were travelling on a road south of Haditha when the device was detonated. Their civilian translator was also killed.

US kept in the dark as secret nuclear deal was struck

David Leigh
Thursday August 4, 2005

Guardian

Israel's acquisition of nuclear bombs has been one of the most sustained pieces of deceit in recent history. The project was guarded with such passion that in the 1980s the technician Mordechai Vanunu was kidnapped and spent 11 years in solitary confinement for blowing some of its secrets.
It is remarkable then, that documents lying unnoticed in the public records office at Kew should reveal Britain's hitherto unknown role 47 years ago in deceiving the US and supplying Israel with the means to go nuclear.

Globalisation is an anomaly and its time is running out
Cheap energy and relative peace helped create a false doctrine

James Howard Kunstler
Thursday August 4, 2005

Guardian

The big yammer these days in the United States is to the effect that globalisation is here to stay: it's wonderful, get used to it. The chief cheerleader for this point of view is Thomas Friedman, columnist for the New York Times and author of The World Is Flat. The seemingly unanimous embrace of this idea in the power circles of America is a marvellous illustration of the madness of crowds, for nothing could be further from the truth than the idea that globalisation is now a permanent fixture of the human condition.

Three ways to make us all safer
Support the police, treat Muslims with respect and pull out of Iraq

Ken Livingstone
Thursday August 4, 2005

Guardian

It is four weeks since bombers indiscriminately killed and maimed ordinary Londoners. Protecting London from terrorists requires the best possible policing - which, in turn, needs the greatest possible flow of information from all communities. It also demands that we shrink the pool of the alienated that bombers draw on by treating all communities as equal parts of British society - not only theoretically, but in reality. And it means withdrawing from Iraq. All are interrelated.

A lot more interesting, and many more possibilities.

Kind of a PS to the last thread. Bill Marshall, I'm more than one of those "just the facts, ma'am" kind of folk, but I do scurry around searching for the facts. Glad to be of assistance and wanted to thank YOU for letting me know it was helpful. Very kind of you.

Thank you, Sally, for getting the site up again. I know I am not alone in feeling frustration and abandonment anxiety (or something like that) when I cannot get Astroworld. I am much relieved. I know I would survive without it, but I hate to imagine life without AW. I fully intend to comply with your request and have made a donation to help out and to show my immense gratitude.

LONG LIVE ASTROWORLD (& Sally McDonald)!

Posted by: Sharon on August 4, 2005 05:12 AM

Sharon, I am sending you a private note of gratitude and thanks, but I want everyone to know how much I appreciate your support when I am faced with increased costs for this site. I also want to tell everyone, whether they can contribute or not, that valuable contributions don't necessarily mean money even though we do need it at Astroworld. Valuable contributions come in the form or making this site valuable for the people who come here and the people that just follow and read the posts. Where would AW be without the intelligent discussions, and creative ideas, and easy to find links, we would NOT be.

I would never want anyone to think that money is the only valuable contribution to make, because it isn't. I appreciate every word, every thought, every link and every dime. And I hope people remember that I would never ever take this site down without telling people. It would never happen. When this site is down it's because of circumstances way beyond my control and I scramble to get the assistance I need to get it back up. So not to worry.

I am reporting in....tried to do it this morning when I finally had regained some emotional stability...but geezlouise, the last 4 days have been awfully intense. It started on Sunday and on Monday....and it felt as if I had entered a new world energetically....I was vibrating at a different rate, I think....a big step up in vibration patterns, it felt as if I had litterally walked thru a big transparent circle into a new way of seeing life. Or energy or both. Then tues at the monthly meeting of a group of flower essence practitioners (which I had missed most of over the last 8 months) I mentioned this, and lots of the people there, all healers, said the same thing had been felt by them, and then one of them said, oh, a new stargate opened up on Monday. (I quite honestly have no idea what this means other than the SCIFI channel model) And strangely, that is how the energy looked to me, like a big round opening... and I stepped in.

Tuesday night, totally drained....Wednesday, totally drained. And when I came here, no Astroworld.

Did anyone else go thru anything like this? Well, the dream of Jonathan's sounds like it could qualify!

I cannot describe the world....but it is a higher vibration.

I too went through severe withdrawal at not being able to immediately access the site. At this point in time, I do believe that slowly but surely it IS all starting to turn around and hopefully sooner rather than later we will have taken our country back!

well, I've missed out on things the last week or so, busy with my b-day, kids, and merc. retro issues of course, lol. Sally, you are without a doubt one of the coolest people in the world. I'm glad the site is ok. Judy, I read this this morning, and thought of you (and Morgana), given your current "vibes", it makes sense: "Expected Earthquake, Volcanic or Storm Activity by Stan Deyo

The August 2 RED ALERT is the first of its kind I've ever made in the 9 years of studying seismic event indicators. It is so huge that I almost can't believe my eyes. The importance and severity of this has impressed me more significantly than when I predicted and warned about the coming December 26, 2004 Indonesian events beginning December 22.

For the last 7 days, I've seen indications of a large number of earthquake pressures building across a 2,000-mile long arc in the North Pacific. At first, I thought these indications were a result of large storms so I disregarded them. Until August 2 when a listener (thanks Dan) heard my radio broadcast and emailed information to me, I wasn't able to explain the cause of this discovery." http://www.libertyforum.org/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=news_miscellaneous&Number=293850681#Post293850681

The Message Thing
By JIM WALLIS
SINCE the 2004 election, there has been much soul-searching and hand-wringing, especially among Democrats, about how to "frame" political messages. The loss to George W. Bush was painful enough, but the Republicans' post-election claims of mandate, and their triumphal promises to relegate the Democrats to permanent minority status, left political liberals in a state of panic.

So the minority party has been searching, some would say desperately, for the right "narrative": the best story line, metaphors, even magic words to bring back electoral success. The operative term among Democratic politicians and strategists has become "framing." How to tell the story has become more important than the story itself. And that could be a bigger mistake for the Democrats than the ones they made during the election.

Judi G - I have been out of sorts for the past week as well. I have not heard of a Star Gate either except for the TV show, but I think they mean portal. What I have experienced is an increase in spirit activity. There are more spirits coming around then I have seen in a long time. They are everywhere and not just during a full moon when their activity usually picks up. Anyway I have been all out of whack, like something terrible is about to happen. The last time I had these feelings was about a week before 9/11. Also, as a digital photographer, I have had a major increase in recording orbs in my pics. I think they are here to warn us of an impending disaster. And as a Reiki practitioner, I have noticed that my hands are hot all the time. I mean HOT. So, I am sending lots of healing energy out to the world without any effort.

If anyone needs some healing, ask and I'll send it. I have plenty to go around these days! All I need is your name and b-day. Pat QCP, if I can get yours and Erics full name and b-days I will put you on my healing list. If anyone one is interested my email address is cybearman@earthlink.net.

We know George Dub is on vaca, as usual. While Dick Cheney heads to Saudi Arabia to meet with the new king.

I just started reading the book: "Dick: The Man Who Is President" by John Nichols (Washington correspondent of The Nation); copyright 2004, published by The New Press www.thenewpress.com.

Snippets (from the intro) follow.

Feb 7 2001, an event w/a man shooting at the WH w/a 38 caliber revolver. WH is sealed off, SS (haha, that means Secret Service) rushes to find Rez and VP. Cheney: working in office on speech, phones ringing, buzzing computer, surrying aides...GW: in the gym working out.

Resumes: Cheney: aide to 3 chief execs; 2nd most powerful member of Repugs in House of Reps, cab sec'y, CEO of powerful, politically connected corp (but no family connections). Bush: son of priviledge, avoided responsibility most of adult life, ran 4 businesses into ground, "floated through political career crafted and controlled by the ministers and minions of his father."

...picked cab members (all loyal friends), but kept control of ALL the reins; centralized authority to make policy (e.g., energy), distribute favors, plot election strategy, told Bush to not return to WH & sent Hastert & Daschle & others to bunkers in Blue Ridge Mtns after 9/11/01, promoted Iraq fiasco...
***********************************************
When GW was first selected, I felt there was no way he was really the President -- too silly and clueless -- and that Cheney was. Think I'll go back to that thinking, whatever that means w/regard to all the BS going on day in & day out! GW is front man, I think.

Hey, Sally, who am I to disagree, but my own feeling is that the Neptunian mob-mentality is apparent in (a far-too-big portion of) the populace, who while they aren't liking gov't policies refuse to attach the name Bush (or Cheney...any of those guys) to them! I think the guys running this horror show are very clear-headed about what they're doing ('cept Bush; I'm sticking to my "Cheney is Pres" thought). We can't fathom it because it's beyond greedy and selfish, and it's INSANE!!!!

The recent Energy Bill included at $2.4 billion
tax break for the oil, gas, and coal companies...
You will note in the below plea that Exxon(the
company that had a ship named after Condaleeza)
made $7.85 billion profit for the quarter.
The speculation in Oil Futures could be stopped
in a minute if we had anyone with balls in our
government. The rich are getting richer....

Despite record profits from sky-high gas prices ($7.85 billion in profit in March, April and June alone!), ExxonMobil refuses to invest in clean energy technologies like wind and solar power, and is instead using its immense cash reserves to keep the world addicted to oil. ExxonMobil is spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a misleading advertising and lobbying campaign to get Congress not to take action to stop global warming. Its lobbyists are pushing to get Congress to allow ExxonMobil to drill for oil in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. And it still refuses to pay the $4 billion plus a court ordered in damages for the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill.

If we're going to save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and move America towards a clean energy future, we can't let ExxonMobil's activities go unexposed. Please take action now, and then forward this email to your friends and family - to win, we need more people involved.

Roberts aided landmark case on gay rights
His pro bono work helped activists win Supreme Court ruling
- Richard A. Serrano, Los Angeles Times
Thursday, August 4, 2005

Washington -- Supreme Court nominee John Roberts worked behind the scenes for a coalition of gay-rights activists, and his legal expertise helped them persuade the Supreme Court to issue a landmark 1996 ruling protecting people against discrimination because of their sexual orientation.

Then, a lawyer specializing in appellate work, the conservative Roberts helped represent the gay activists as part of his law firm's pro bono work. While he did not write the legal briefs or argue the case before the Supreme Court, he was instrumental in reviewing the filings and preparing oral arguments, according to several lawyers close to the case.

Washington -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., would do better than Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., against potential 2008 Republican presidential rivals John McCain and Rudolph Giuliani -- but would still lose, a Gallup Poll showed Wednesday.

Both McCain, a senator from Arizona who challenged then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush for the Republican nomination in 2000, and Giuliani, mayor of New York City during the Sept. 11 attacks, would beat Clinton in the trial matchup 50 percent to 45 percent, the poll showed.

I also have felt extremely low energy in the past week or so, and have attributed it to 1) Merc rx over my moon/pluto & opposing my n. mercury, in addition to a few other retrogrades going on 2) my mental & physical biorhythms on the downswing, both hitting bottom in the next 2 days 3) giving up my vitamin & protein powder regimen a few months back. I think the biorhythms have the most to do with it, though, as I was reasonably energetic last week. Now, I'm thinking about what many of you are going through.

How about all of us creating a shield of WHITE LIGHT around Astroworld to protect it?

this week just trying to manage with very sunburned feet. Had to take 2 short trips the 2 weekends of this Mercury Rx, but they were generally pleasant, so if the worst I get is sunburned feet--hey, I'll take it.

Just realized tJupter is in the same sign as my natal Neptune (Libra, 14 degrees), and tNeptune is in the same sign as my natal Jupiter (1 degree Aquarius). Don't know what it means, but have decided to think it means something good.

I had never heard of orbs until July 24....when I was working on some chalk art displays in a charity event with a woman I had never met before. Peace Corps Option for Military Recruits Sparks Concerns
By Alan Cooperman
The Washington Post

Tuesday 02 August 2005

The US military, struggling to fill its voluntary ranks, is offering to allow recruits to meet part of their military obligations by serving in the Peace Corps, which has resisted any ties to the Defense Department or US intelligence agencies since its founding in 1961.

The recruitment program has sparked debate and rising opposition among current and former Peace Corps officials. Some welcome it as a way to expand the cadre of idealistic volunteers created by President John F. Kennedy. But many say it could lead to suspicions abroad that the Peace Corps, which has 7,733 workers in 73 countries, is working together with the US armed forces.

"Does this raise red flags for the Peace Corps community? I'd say yes - emphatically so," said Kevin Quigley, president of the National Peace Corps Association, an organization of returned volunteers, staff and supporters. "We think a real or perceived linkage between the Peace Corps and military service could damage the Peace Corps and potentially put the safety of Peace Corps volunteers at risk."

Some one posted that Vanity Fair had a column on the illegal kickbacks to Hastert, but I saw nothing unless it is planned for the Sept issue...

Michael Klare on Entering the Age of Resource Wars

The Chevron ad began: "It took us 125 years to use the first trillion barrels of oil. We'll use the next trillion in 30. Energy will be one of the defining issues of this century. One thing is clear: the era of easy oil is over..."

I rubbed my eyes and read on:

"What we all do next will determine how well we meet the energy needs of the entire world in this century and beyond. Demand is soaring like never before. As populations grow and economies take off, millions in the developing world are enjoying the benefits of a lifestyle that requires increasing amounts of energy. In fact, some say that in 20 years the world will consume 40% more oil than it does today. At the same time, many of the world's oil and gas fields are maturing. And new energy discoveries are mainly occurring in places where resources are difficult to extract, physically, economically and even politically. When growing demand meets tighter supplies, the result is more competition for the same resources.

"We can wait until a crisis forces us to do something. Or we can commit to working together, and start by asking the tough questions: How do we meet the energy needs of the developing world and those of industrialized nations? What role will renewables and alternative energies play? What is the best way to protect our environment? How do we accelerate our conservation efforts?..."

A View Of Iraq From A Soldier

Speech to the "Out of Iraq" Congressional Caucus on July 19, 2005

By John Bruhns

Click here to watch Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, read this letter into the congressional record

08/03/05 "ICH" -- -- I am a concerned veteran of the Iraq War. I am not an expert on the vast and wide range of issues throughout the political spectrum, but I can offer some first hand experience of the war in Iraq through the eyes of a soldier. My view of the situation in Iraq will differ from what the American People are being told by the Bush Administration. The purpose of this message is to voice my concern that we were misled into war and continue to be misled about the situation! in Iraq every day. My opinions on this matter come from what I witnessed in Iraq personally.

George Bush and his political advisors have been successful in presenting a false image to the American people that Saddam Hussein was an "imminent" threat to the security of the United States. We were told that there was overwhelming evidence that Saddam Hussein possessed a massive WMD program, and some members of the Bush Administration even hinted that Saddam may have been involved in the 9/11 attacks.

2 Iraq veterans stationed at Fort Hood kill themselves
Web Posted: 08/04/2005 12:00 AM CDT

Associated Press

FORT HOOD — Two young soldiers who served in the Iraq war have killed themselves in separate incidents in Killeen since the weekend, post officials said Wednesday.

Sgt. Robert Decouteaux, 24, of Rosedale, N.Y., died Saturday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had been airlifted from his home to a Temple hospital for emergency surgery, but he died while doctors tried to save his life.

And on Monday morning, Spc. Robert Hunt, 22, of Houston, was found dead in his apartment by Killeen police, who were alerted after members of his unit tried to contact him when he failed to report to work.

Carol Smith, a Killeen police spokeswoman, said Wednesday that Hunt's cause of death was listed as asphyxiation.

Fort Hood spokesman Dan Hassett said Decouteaux served in Iraq from April 2003 to March 2004, and that he was scheduled to redeploy when the division returns to the war zone beginning this fall.

Hunt, a radio operator-maintainer, joined the Army as a teenager in 2001 and had been assigned to Fort Hood since August 2003.

He deployed to Iraq for a yearlong tour in March 2004 as part of the 1st Cavalry Division.

*****A MUST READ *****

Pretty Hot in Crawford; Pretty Hot in Hell

"A Marine assault vehicle on patrol during combat operations hit a roadside bomb Wednesday, and 14 Marines were killed in one of the deadliest single attacks in Iraq against American forces". U.K. Guardian

By Mike Whitney

08/04/05 "ICH" -- -- Fourteen Marines will touch down at Dover Air Force Base tomorrow; their lives cut-short in a brutal war that has yet to produce a rationale. The architect of that war will be landing at nearly the same time at his vacation home in Crawford, Texas; resting up from the grueling task of sending other-mother's-sons to die for nothing. Where's the outrage?

Of the 14 men who were killed, not one was named Bush, or Cheney or Rumsfeld. They were all just grunts doing their jobs; fighting for their country. Or, so they thought. Not one of them joined the fray to fight to defend the torture chambers at Guantanamo or Abu Ghraib. Not one of them fought to make Iraq safe for Halliburton, or Bechtel, or Exxon. Not one fought to increase domestic surveillance and intrusive big government like the Patriot Act. Not one fought to shift more of the nation's wealth into the pockets of the blood-sucking parasite class to which Bush belongs. Not one fought to ensure that Bush and his war-mongering cadres could continue to flatten whole cities, poison the water, devastate the economy, steal their oil, destroy their society, and kill and imprison their people. Not one. Every one of them fought and died because they loved their country and they trusted their leaders not to lie to them.

ANOTHER MUST READ PEOPLE.... OUR TROOPS HAVE 100
CHILDREN IN CUSTODY...

Iraq's Child Prisoners
By Neil Mackay
The Sunday Herald

Sunday 01 August 2004

A Sunday Herald investigation has discovered that coalition forces are holding more than 100 children in jails such as Abu Ghraib. Witnesses claim that the detainees - some as young as 10 - are also being subjected to rape and torture.
It was early last October that Kasim Mehaddi Hilas says he witnessed the rape of a boy prisoner aged about 15 in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. "The kid was hurting very bad and they covered all the doors with sheets," he said in a statement given to investigators probing prisoner abuse in Abu Ghraib. "Then, when I heard the screaming I climbed the door ... and I saw [the soldier's name is deleted] who was wearing a military uniform." Hilas, who was himself threatened with being sexually assaulted in Abu Ghraib, then describes in horrific detail how the soldier raped "the little kid".

WV...thanks for athat mess of links, wow...! I had just finished reading somewhere else (Raw Story maybe? I lose track) that a young man was told he was going to have to return to Iraq, and before the birth of his first child with his girlfriend, so he got into an SUV and plowed into a lot filled with cars at 90 miles an hour, dying instantly...

My 4 year old granddaughter was diagnosed with asthma today, following the dna of her mother and her grandfather....at least my daughter will know how to handle it.

Posted by: judi gemini on August 5, 2005 02:28 AM

Lori, I love your thoughts and I don't think you are wrong about this.

Judi, it's a good sign that you aren't worried about your daughter, but what a plate load you have.

This is a New Moon in Leo (hint, Morgana is going to post her New Moon article, (don't tell her I told you) Look to see what house the New Moon falls in your chart and make a list of what you want as it relates to that house. Say it falls in the 10th - career success, 6th work and health related wishes, and so on.

Posted by: Sally on August 5, 2005 03:12 AM

Cybear, I feel a little funny asking because my situation is as serious like some but could you please add me (2/20/51)? I could use some positive energy and motivation - I have been struggling with organizing myself, my papers and possessions, my house and my career for way too long (Leo, 2nd house, but I think it's the Neptune that's been anesthesizing me and I also have Mars in Pisces). I married and moved to my husband's home, in another state (FL to LA) 2.5 years ago and it's been a big, big challenge for me to move forward. I do it in spurts but I feel things are moving in slow motion and I'm living in an Anne Rice novel! This has been a progressive ailment...I was like this before I moved too.

Judi, what about adding your daughter, your grandaughter and maybe yourself.

Thank you for your love & generosity, Cybear.

Prophetic comment from Vanity Fair for August....

. Imagine the impact it would have if 50 police or army recruits were wiped out over the course of a week in this country. Now imagine 50 dying every single week with no relief in sight and tell me the U.S. wouldn't be suffering a national nervous breakdown. But the Iraqi dead are discounted as the Price of Democracy. If Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice harbored any semblance of shame beneath their aluminum-foil Vulcan armor, they would fall to their knees to express sorrow and beg forgiveness from the Iraqi people, even though Cheney might need help rising to his feet again. But of course they never will. They will continue to brazen it out, abetted by a milquetoast Mr. Media.

a word of caution, don't judge the wishes just write them down, don't say anything like "I'll never get that, I don't see how that can happen" just write them down and with Leo, the bigger the better. Everyone throw their shoulders back an live large.

Sharon,
I sympathize with you totally! Mars in pices is a tough placement. ( I know several others with it)
Is your thyroid OK? When I was prescribed a too low dose, to suppliment my missing thyroid, those were the exact symptoms.
Difficulty in organizing my stuff, papers etc. I would sit and stare at them & they meant nothing so I couldn't process them! Before that when I finished an art job I would refile the reference material throw away the rough sketches and be ready for the next job. I'm still working at clearing up that stuff, having also made 8 temporary moves during that time period!

Cybear,
Patricia Jane Sharp 5/4/39 ( same year as those energizer bunnies.........Dorothy of Kansas, & Scarlett Ohara!) We're all still going strong

At last! One of them got into trouble!!!! Novack used to inspire me to shout and throw things at the TV. Or is this a convenient dodge to avoid being questioned on the air??? I don't think he needs the money!

I have added another cat to my household! He came by screaming and telling me he's lost his family and could he please, pleeeeease have a hug and some chin scratching, not to mention food! He's snugged down in Cinnamon's old house out on the porch. ( Because I don't have any more rooms with doors, & Bilbo Baggens/ Siamese Maine coon mix would kill him as soon as look at him! * Robert Novak Suspended by CNN

Veteran Wash journalist Robert Novak was suspended indefinitely by CNN today after he cursed on a show during a political discussion.

...During a heated discussion of the upcoming US Senate race in FL, Carville interrupted Novak as he attempted to finish a sentence. Novak responded by saying, "Just let me finish what I'm going to say, James. I know you hate to hear me." At that pt, Carville responded to both Novak & CNN anchor Ed Henry with, "he has to show these rt-wingers that he's got backbone ... show them you're tough."

Novak then responded by saying, "I think that's bullshit & I hate that." Novak then said to Henry, "Just let it go." As Henry began to ask Carville a follow-up question about the Senate race, Novak stood up, unclipped his mic & walked off the set. Altho both Henry & Carville appeared uncomfortable, neither immediately acknowledged Novak's sudden departure until later in the show.

...Henry apologized to viewers & said he hoped to be able to question Novak in the future about his role in the leak of CIA agt Valerie Plame's ID. Henry said he told Novak before the show that he was going to ask him about the leak while on the air. Plame's name became public after Novak used it in a 2003 column. The disclosure of the CIA agt's ID has become the source of great controversy with allegations being made that a sr member of [rez regime] was responsible for the leak. ...CNN spokeswoman Edie Emery called Novak's behavior "inexcusable & unacceptable." ... http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=1683
