The Dark Ages Redux

US New Moon Transits
July 6, 2005 8:02 AM EDT
Washington, DC

So much happening everywhere from Gaia stirring, winds howling, the Sun frying, the waters rising, puts us in mind of the bards of our time Bob Dylan's "Times They Are A-Changin" and CCR's "Bad Moon Rising".

The news just keeps getting worse, that constant drip, drip, drip of American blood, Iraqi blood, Afghani blood, Palestinian blood, Israeli blood, African blood, the blood of the People.

To add more to the American image look what Rummy's up to ~

Mike Whitney: 'The Rumsfeld Solution: Liberating Iraq, one journalist at a time'

By Mike Whitney

"The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) is calling on the United States to investigate 3 new cases of journalists killed in Iraq in the last week...This brings to 17 the number of journalists and media staff killed by US soldiers."
-- Iraq Press

Last week, Yasser Salihee, a reporter for Knight Ridder news agency, was assassinated in a perfectly executed gangland-style hit a few miles outside of Baghdad. He was struck by a single bullet to the head by an American sniper. Salihee's murder resulted from his extensive coverage of the torture and murder of "suspected insurgents" by US-backed death-squads.

I've read that there are more Gitmo like pictures to be released including the sound effects of torture and rape accompanied by the voices of the victims, the screams of the children which were being held in the American prisons in downtown Baghdad and on the bases of their Liberators. I have read the pictures were taken to sate the appetites of the rich and sexually depraved. These are Christians ? This is what a Republican is all about ? We're these innocents used to make their parents talk?

Across the world accounts of famine and starvation, flooding and ruin. In America uncontrolled crime, and the slow destruction of the American people. Our jobs, livelihoods, our way of life. Whoa Nellie let's not mention the loss of freedom of religion, freedom of the press (corporate takeover get it...doh!) Global warming has arrived and each of us is losing our money, our security, our health, our properties either through taxes, earthquake, tsunami, or because some developer wants to build a strip mall where you live...oops too bad so sad. We have lost our national sanity and our moral compass is spinning as if trapped in the Burmuda Triangle.

Wild energies are losed with this new moon, new beginnings, new projects set in motion and Monkey-boy is driving. Tip'o the iceberg finds our inept Monkey-boy attending the G8 and representing American interests. Whose interests really? Oh brother how embarassing. Doh, we need more research. Oh it'll wreck the US economy (and global warming won't ?).

Latest news flash from CNN tells of tens of thousands of protestors converging both in Denmark where Monkey-boy landed as I write this and in Scotland where the Poodle is serving up faire fit for his royal heinie our cousins are dishing up their own greeting.

The new moon finds itself falling in the US 7th House, "representing" international relations with other countries: treaties and alliances, wars, truces, the UN and her members, and designated "enemies" are associated with the 7th House. This is also the house of "projection." What does a nation project upon its enemies? Often times, as in natal astrology, what a nation projects is its disowned neurosis or psychosis." From Claudia Dikinis's Mundane Astrology and Astrological Law.

Monkey-boy's traisping around Europe spreading his version of American goodwill which promises to be the image of ruin and destruction. See transiting Pluto in Sagittarius having sown the seeds of destruction and transformation in the US 1st House is continuing to form an opposition to the natal US Mars in Gemeni in the 7th. This energy is reflected in Monkey-boy'z policies and his approach to the rest of the world community. He's spreading Pluto everywhere he goes.

Now let's add some Uranian wrenchs to the works. Transiting Uranus Rx falls in the US 3rd House and it is forming a strong square with the US natal Uranus in 6th House (armies, military action) or in our case some unexpected suprises of the nasty nature involving our military folk. What will the press reveal, or more so what else is badly out of whack for our troops?

Transiting Mars finds its energy affecting the US 4th House, the House of the People, and conjunct the transiting N. Lunar node causing Americans to take a deeper look at the three ring circus Ring Master Rove has produced to distract the eye. Mars is likely to stir the ire of the masses as we find all the little niggling problems of this mis-administration coming to a boil. Things like the Plame affair, Delay's shananigans, Social Security, Mad Cow, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, N. Korea, China and the slow dawning on Mr. and Mrs. Republican that they've been sold a mislabeled product. The military finding itself short changed, unarmored, under manned, benefit cuts, insufficient medical care (this fodder unit is inoperative) all for a war based on a pack of lies. Boy howdy how long is the Pentagon Brass gona take the guff off these citizen war mongers ?

Whoa unto the CIA and FBI the Death Squad creator has taken over the reins of their organizations, welcome to Negroponte's world of horror.

Finally with transiting Mercury and Venus conjuncting in the US 8th House we will hear all about the deaths, destruction and the greed which drives the carnage we are wreaking upon the rest of the world.

What can be done ? There is a vehicle out there to help effect change. It's driven by Howard Dean and his brother Jim Dean. It is www.democracyforamerica.com for it's in our own backyards that change is going to be effected and an end to our national nightmare can be made reality.

The transit chart here.

Below are the words from Bob Dylan's, "The Times They Are A-Changin" written in 1964, they are are true today as they were then.

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

Morgana music again! Thanks soooo much... now to re-read and digest.

Some neat pics at GU of G8 protestors, most of whom are noted as "anti-capitalists" ---

Chilling, Morgana...insightful and chilling.
I really hope the truth does come to the surface like some ancient volcano belching vomit from hell.

In Bush's Solar Return (I don't care in whatever country one casts the chart) has Mars on the eclipse point of April 8, 2005. And yes, this year, it opposes his Jupiter. (for once Wolfstar of StarIQ and I agree. A nasty year for Mr. Bush)

Very little on the Rove affair in the NY Times today. Just a long oblique story about Washington insiders, the CIA, her friends' reactions, Wilson's role, his books, his "misstating some facts." Nothing about Rove, nothing about the source of the leak. A very strange meandering around the hem of a skirt.

Mr. Bush is reported to be unwilling to give Tony Blair and the Europeans what they want about reducing African debt, and about global warming. Mr. Blair, rightly so, feels he is owed something. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Tony got so angry that he let further leaks get out about Mr. Bush's pre Iraq war conniving. Yes, it would damage Blair, but sometimes if you know you are going to go, you might as well bring down the whole house. Trash and burn. Just dreaming.

hey gang,

I must be the biggest fool on Earth right now. I think Stephany was a scam...

My God, how could I be so stupid...

Beasley, there was an interview on Aaron Brown on CNN parsing whether by law (not CIA standards) Ms Plame was actually an under cover agent.

Hmmmmm says I. Now they are splitting hairs. Aaron Brown quickly asked about perjury. That tripped the interviewee a bit.

NEO, what do you mean? Is that why I felt she would be fine?

Posted by: Pat C on July 6, 2005 03:53 AM

Mr. President: this is what Freedom and Liberty are all about

Here are excerpts from the speech that Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero gave regarding his country’s historic vote to make marriage for all Spaniards:

"We are not legislating, honorable members, for people far away and not known by us. We are enlarging the opportunity for happiness to our neighbors, our co-workers, our friends and, our families: at the same time we are making a more decent society, because a decent society is one that does not humiliate its members.

“In the poem ‘The Family,’ our [gay] poet Luis Cernuda was sorry because, ‘How does man live in denial in vain by giving rules that prohibit and condemn?’ “Today, the Spanish society answers to a group of people who, during many years have, been humiliated, whose rights have been ignored, whose dignity has been offended, their identity denied, and their liberty oppressed. Today the Spanish society grants them the respect they deserve, recognizes their rights, restores their dignity, affirms their identity, and restores their liberty.

"It is true that they are only a minority, but their triumph is everyone’s triumph. It is also the triumph of those who oppose this law, even though they do not know this yet: because it is the triumph of Liberty. Their victory makes all of us (even those who oppose the law) better people, it makes our society better. Honorable members, There is no damage to marriage or to the concept of family in allowing two people of the same sex to get married. To the contrary, what happens is this class of Spanish citizens get the potential to organize their lives with the rights and privileges of marriage and family. There is no danger to the institution of marriage, but precisely the opposite: this law enhances and respects marriage.

Pat C,

Maybe I'm being paranoid. But I have a very strong hunch just now that i've been had. Just the way the conversation went towards the end.

Posted by: NEOBuckeye on July 6, 2005 04:00 AM

NeoB., don't feel bad, you're not alone.

Apparently internet fraud is the third largest source of income in Nigeria. How do I know?
I was also defrauded by a Nigerian over the attempted sale of some music equipment. Cost me over 5 grand and I got arrested--but hey, only the BEST rockstars get arrested, right? lol

I can laugh now, but the last 2 years or so were kind of dark for me (esp. the being on probation part.) Thanks 2 the gods that music was the one thing that showed a marked improvement for me those years or I might not be here right now.....

Bottom line warning to all my extended e-fam here on AW--if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.That is especially true of anyone from Nigeria or any Russian ladies who contact you for "dating".....when in doubt, google it.

Namaste all and white light to those who are in need......

Big, hurting and expensive lessons for me NeoB. I'm still trying to figure out what i learned. It's gonna sting for a while. It's the chiron(wound)conjuct nessus (abuse)and the moon is drawing our attention to it over and over again. warm thoughts flowing outward.

Just thinking back over everything, and too many things seem too vague to me. The doctor called me two days ago to say that she was in surgery but that it had been successful and that she would be okay. The call ended before I could get too many specifics. Neither the doc nor Stephany could tell me later what exactly needed to be done. One of the DUers at my post over there was nice enough to e-mail me offering medical advice. She couldn't seem to figure out either why she would have required surgery other than for maybe an appendectomy...

Her mother and her sister lived in South Africa. They apparently moved there after her father died in a car accident in Maryland about 1 year ago. "Stephany" later moved to Nigeria with a sales company that suddenly folded just after I began talking with her and left her stranded at a local hotel with her room totally unpaid for. Like a fool, I sent money for her bills and her flight so she could come to the US. And then, she gets sick with Typhoid...

She was even friendly enough to talk with my sister online? How could I not have fallen for that??

*sigh* It all seemed real enough to me in the beginning. Maybe I was so desperate, I just wanted to believe. Now i'm in debt over my head, and totally heartbroken...

NEObuckeye,

If I were you I would report the scam, change my credit card #, and my bank account #. I hope whatever money you sent was by money order, but barring that, alert all the financial institutions involved. Forged checks, your signature, your routing #, your bank account #, etc. check it out.

I'm too hurt to pull up my chart right now. Natal Neptune's in my Sixth, progressed to Fifth (Love and Romance). Natal Chiron is conjunct my Natal Sun, both at 6 Taurus. Wonder if that's a perpetual ego wound? God, I feel sick...

Morgana,
* spreading Pluto wherever he goes! so funny and scary at the same time.
What a great article and powerfuly visual. Guessin' whatever Plutonian energy * spreads might come back to bite his butt.

Neo, OMG! When posting you maxed out a credit card for this girl I got a twinge of 'Huh"? so never replied. Don't blame yourself for being a good person. Reflect on where you might be 'too nice'. Yoga aphorism:' the road to hell is paved by pleasing others'. Charity begins at home. Within. Backyard. Boggles my mind that mentality becomes so dark...and then again, there's * right in our faces...everyday.

only sent money orders and my phone number, Beasley... no ss, credit cards or anything else, fortunately.
They do have my address though. I suppose maybe they could try to do something with that. Hope the FBI doesn't come knocking on my door...

Posted by: NEOBuckeye on July 6, 2005 04:33 AM

NEO, you need to report it somehow. Especially if your psyche is wondering about the FBI - if for no other reason than to prove that you were an innocent victim, should there ever be future questioning of financing for 'terra' or other nefarious activities. When I got letters from Nigeria, the first thing I did was hand them over to the local cops who then sent them on.

Posted by: Kiwijeanie on July 6, 2005 04:45 AM

What can I say? I am a nice guy with a bleeding heart, in a cruel and unfeeling world. I thought I knew better, but this girl, or guy or whomever had my number this time.

Posted by: NEOBuckeye on July 6, 2005 04:46 AM

Woo-hoo, Morgana! Nothing like Morgana music! Many thank. Reflecting on the Moon! The Moon reflects on us. The Moon reflects us. My, O my.

NEO, this is your opportunity to grow. It is painful, yes, but assimilate that pain, learn from it and go forward. Strength will be yours.

Posted by: shylurker on July 6, 2005 05:29 AM

NEObuckeye,

Relieved it was just money orders. Phone #'s can be changed, but I'd wait until she calls or writes and then turn the letters, taped phone calls, emails, etc. over to the cops. You are not the perp here. You just got snuckered big time.

In the words of Carl Sandburg the poet "good fences make good neighbors." Trust is earned, etc.

And frankly, I don't think the FBI is THAT stupid. Stupid, yes, but not THAT stupid. They are not going to come after you.

For the "They Never Quit" department and maybe a good laugh:

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/325327p-277874c.html

Paula's jonesing
for Clinton library

Paula Jones wants to go to a library - but she isn't looking for a book.

The woman who claimed that former President Bill Clinton exposed himself to her thinks it's time she visited the $165 million study center dedicated to his administration.

"My house is about 17 miles from it," says Jones, who lives just north of Little Rock, Ark. "I pass by [the Clinton Presidential Center] all the time. I kept saying, 'I ought to go in there.' My friends and I talked about putting on wigs - just in case they won't let me in - and making a day of it."

Jones mentioned her plan to David Hans Schmidt, the Phoenix-based agent who brokered her nude spread in

Penthouse, and he suggested they turn the outing into a media event and maybe make a few bucks in the process.

"Paula will wear a T-shirt with the sponsor's name," says Schmidt.

Jones says she can use the money because lawyers who brought her sexual harassment suit against Clinton took most of her $850,000 settlement.

"I got $151,000," says Jones. "That's gone. I was going through a divorce.

I had to get a home for my two boys. I never made bunches of money. Mary Kay LeTourneau can molest a child, then turn around and marry him, and make $1 million off their TV wedding!"

Still, she insists, "It doesn't matter if I get any money. I was going to do it anyway."

She already knows she's not mentioned anywhere in the exhibits.

"How could they wipe away those years of his life?" she grumbles.

Jones and Clinton agree on one thing: "A lot of people used me for their agendas. But I got the blame. They called me 'trailer trash.' I've never been in a trailer."

Clinton spokesmen declined to comment on Jones' latest bid to embarrass the former President.

It's funny, and I don't know why but that actually brought a smile to my face.

Thanks to you all for putting up with me here just now. Maybe it's for the wonderful people here at AW that I already feel better.

My wonderful husband, genius artist, all around crazy man was like a Vaudeville song and dance man. He sang to me constantly and one of my all around favorites was:

"Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries."

Just made sense to me. And he used to get his tongue around the r's in 'cherries' in the funniest way.

We'll get through it all.

NEO, one of my sons did something for a girlfriend that turned out awful. It stripped him of money, his credit rating, everthing. It was awful and he was as low as a snake belly. Beat himself up something terrible. Finally I just said to him, "look, no matter what she did, you did everything for all the right reasons, you did it for love and respect, all of it will come back to you." And NEO it did, he has a fantastic job now, a very happy marriage and two really great golden retrievers. You did it for the right reasons NEO and it will all come back, generosity and love is never wasted. Too bad this girl wasted all that was given to her.

b FEMA & the Hidden Underground Govt
i http://www.seebo.net/fema.html

If you still believe that the entire govt of the US is for the people, you may be surprised to know that the elite heads of our govt do not demonstrate those same views. The fed agency known as FEMA (Fed Emergency Mgmt Agency) is propagandized as being an emergency relief agency, whose primary responsibilities are to assist the citizens of America during times of crises, such as war or natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts, etc) And, while this scenario is partially true, it is by no means the primary responsibility of this powerful arm of America's secret govt.

While the adm hqt of FEMA is located in Atlanta GA with various branch offices across America, the tactical hqt are located in a gigantic underground facility near Bluemont VA. This site is called Mt Weather, & has also been referred to as the Western VA Office of Controlled Conflict Ops, a name that will appear more accurately descriptive as you read on.

The fed govt took control of the land in 1903 & used it for various projects until 1936. This is when the US Bureau of Mines started a major digging & construction project that wound up being a literal underground city! It is complete with streets & sidewalks, private apts, cafeterias, hosps, supply stores & even it's own mass transit system! Furthermore, it has a water purification system, fed by lakes & underground springs & of course, it's own power plant & sewage disposal system. This is quite a contrast to the visible, above ground structures, which give the appearance of an innocent complex of a dozen or so well kept govt communication-type office bldgs with antennas & microwave relay systems. All this is located on a beautiful landscape & shows no resemblance of anything really strange.

Beneath the unsuspecting ground-level complex is what is often called the "Doomsday Hideaway", this huge mystery mountain of secrecy has gone virtually unnoticed by the public, & even most members of congress are unaware or very unfamiliar with it. It is a self-contained, fully equipped & operational hqt for the "hidden parallel govt" of the US & more!

Here is a list of some of the depts & agencies that are housed within the heavily protected mountain: the depts of Agriculture; Commerce; Health, Education & Welfare; Housing & Urban Dev; Interior; Labor; State; Transportation; & Treas. Some of the fed agencies located within are: the FCC, Selective Service, the Veterans Adm, the Fed Power Commission, the US Postal Service, & the Fed Reserve (which by the way, is not controlled by the fed govt). Another little know fact is that the hqt for the World Bank is located in this safe haven!

FEMA, who also heads up the Multi-jurisdictional Task Force (a natl & internatl military/police force, which is a story within itself) is the commanding agency over the Mt Weather ops. In the event of a natl crises, which nowadays may be anything [rez] decides it to be, FEMA takes full control of the exec branch of govt & rules the nation with all the powers of martial law!

Each of the fed & private agencies located within the Mt Weather complex is under the control of a single individual. The person in control of each agency or dept is not elected by the people, but are appointed by the prez.

They have their own staff or cabinet members who are also appointed & answer directly to the powerful cabinet head. It is a duplicate of our fed govt, but w/o the consent or even knowledge of the taxpayers who fund it. The other fundamental difference is that cabinet members & cabinet heads of each duplicate govt dept are not trained to be a democratic govt in waiting. They are, however, a well trained dictatorship in waiting, not to serve the public, but rather to help administrate control over the public, while FEMA directs the execution of military/police ops against the citizens of America.

FEMA has been in charge of a military police force for several yrs. This multi-jurisdictional task force (mentioned above) has been actively conducting training ops across America (mostly in larger cities) under the guise of an anti-terrorist training op.

The real purpose of these illegally performed training ops known as MOUT (military ops in urban terrain) are actually for preparing these teams to take control of major population centers, disarming American citizens & crushing any rebellious or anti-govt grps who attempt to resist the military takeover.

These so-called anti-terrorist training missions, MOUT, are scheduled to increase in 1999. These unsuspecting maneuvers (assaults) around the nation are illegal, because they are being conducted w/o the required permission from most state governors & city officials. ...

Re: FEMA. Thanks, Joanna. This information -- and more about FEMA -- has been available for quite some time but again, it receives no attention.

When it gets too yucky i lose myself in painting-my world- or go talk to my raven and bobcat neighbors who like to hang out here, then the world falls back into focus again.

You here restore my faith as well -in the search for the patterns that guide us to health we begin with the disturbed ones and you Morgana chant them into my awarness in a most magical way.

FEMA and HUD are both gov't entities which are not overseen by Congress and have unfunded mandates (Catherine Austin Fitts of Solari has much information on this, although I am not certain it is on her website http://www.solari.com, but she told me that. And as such, they have 'black budgets' and they are used to launder narco dollars thru the people who are the insiders.....she herself was appointed to HUD in 1989 by Bush Sr......and later had a 10 year battle with them legally (she won finally in 2004). This crosses party lines, so don't think it is only one of them doing the dirty work.....it is so outrageous at HUD that the creator of the Sopranos wrote some of it into the Sopranos (Tony Soprano ran a scam with the HUD guy). It appears that when enormous money is available, corruption is inevitable. Like who is surprised by that? But it used to be just military contractors....Catherine says that in 1990, 3.2 TRILLION dollars disappeared from HUD....and Enron started up right after that (she made that allusion also). Texas is the clue....the suit she won was against the Texas firm with ties to the bushster family which was doing the sweet HUD deals until Fitts stepped all over the deal, not knowing the real story and beliving like the rest of us that the gov't was 'good'....I think most of this can be read at her site or at 'dialing for narco dollars'.....

Posted by: judi gemini on July 6, 2005 06:08 PM

Morgana, I keep tinking there is a link between the Italy undercover agents which were reported to be complicit with CIA, the killing of the people with the Italian woman reporter several months ago (she wasn't supposed to escape THAT) and what you wrote in the essay....not surprising that two fascist type gov'ts would be 'talking' to each other. You wrote:

Last week, Yasser Salihee, a reporter for Knight Ridder news agency, was assassinated in a perfectly executed gangland-style hit a few miles outside of Baghdad. He was struck by a single bullet to the head by an American sniper. Salihee's murder resulted from his extensive coverage of the torture and murder of "suspected insurgents" by US-backed death-squads.

Assassination is against the law of the US....but used with impunity. NOW that is.

THE 'PATRIOT' ACT:
LAST TANGO IN AMERICA
An Astrological Study Of The Birth Chart Of HR 3162
by Francis Donald Grabau

INTRODUCTION

Hi there, friends, these are urgent Times ! If you are anything like the 'typical' American, you haven't even read the text of HR 3162 or 'The Patriot Act'. But go now to this link and you will find that complete text: http://www.eff.org/Privacy/Surveillance/Terrorism_militias/20011025_hr3162_usa_patriot_bill.html

Once you've read the text you will have a clearer understanding of what the astrological birth chart of this piece of legislation signifies, and that's what I'll be talking about in this astrological analysis. I found the chart itself on StarCats.com along with the comment provided by the hostess of this site that she literally 'saw' George W. Bush sign HR 3162 into law LIVE on MSNBC TV at precisely 10:56 AM on October 26, 2001 and that she (Claudia D. Dikinis) will be posting her comments about it ! * ( As of a few days ago Claudia has done it, posted her pithy, direct commentary-analysis right here:) http://starcats.com/newsmakers.html

But before we begin that earnest work there are a few comments I'd like to make. I confess I am literally flabbergasted by the lack of interest astrologers have shown concerning HR 3162. Nowhere on the internet have I been able to find an analysis of this chart. While a few politicians such as Robert Byrd of West Virginia, Ron Paul of Texas, Barbara Lee of Oakland, Cynthia McKinney, and of course Paul Wellstone [who was subsequently and quite suspiciously killed in an airplane 'accident'] together with journalists such as Greg Palast, Gore Vidal, William Safire, Mike Ruppert, and Dave McGowan have raised their voices in protest against this legislation nevertheless, I can find no articles posted by astrologers giving any sort of in-depth look at the meaning and significance of the LAW by way of astrological analysis.

Judi Gem,

I also find Morgana's inclusion of journalists and Rummy in her article thought provoking:

"...He was struck by a single bullet to the head by an American sniper. Salihee's murder resulted from his extensive coverage of the torture and murder of "suspected insurgents" by US-backed death-squads."

I have seen it suggested elsewhere, perhaps another thread here also, that Gonzales' trip to Iraq was to convince military to tone down the torture... LOL... that's like sending the fox to the hen house to tell another fox (Negroponte) not to harm too many of the chickens...

tseka, grappling with the dropping illusions is difficult to say the least... like you I try to break up my trips throughout cyberspace and its neverending revelations with a dose of "life" --- after swimming lessons today, the grands and I made a thorough mess of the kitchen making fried okra and fried green tomatoes... grease everywhere... but, oh my, our tummies are sated... no more fried food for another six months! Now I have to go watch the movie Fried Gr Tomatoes for the 49th time... and I'll cry again and again throughout... but momentarily I can keep the external world at bay... then I have to clean the mess in the kitchen! grrrrr

Light to all...

Anatomy Of A Neocon Smear

William O. Beeman is professor of anthropology and director of Middle East Studies at Brown University. His forthcoming book is The "Great Satan" vs. the "Mad Mullahs": How the United States and Iran Demonize Each Other (Praeger).

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had not even been officially declared the winner of Iran's presidential contest before the attacks began.

American neoconservatives were clearly not to be deprived of their cherished canard that the "mullahs were manipulating the election." Certain that Ahmadinejad's rival, former president Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, would win, they first denounced his comeback as "due not to popular demand, but to machinations of mullahs," as Danielle Pletka asserted in The New York Times on June 16, before the final voting. Once Ahmadinejad had been declared the surprise victor, the neoconservatives began to denounce him as the candidate of religious leader Ali Khamene'i, claiming that the election was fixed by the clerical establishment. Clearly, the election was to be demonized, whoever won.

Neocon (and Karl Rove confidant) Michael Ledeen couldn't even wait to find out who won. In a statement in the National Review Online on June 24, he wrote, "Iran today reminds me very much of the death struggle between Hitler and the SA, the brown-shirted thugs who led the Nazi 'revolution'. At a certain point, Hitler knew they were a potential threat to his rule, and they were violently purged." It is unclear whether Ledeen's reference to the SA applies to Hashemi-Rafsanjani or to Ahmadinejad. Presumably, either would have served his rhetorical purpose.

Then, on the day Ahmadinejad's victory was declared, the perpetual enemies of the Islamic Republic, the Mojaheddin-Khalq (MEK) released a photo purporting to show the newly elected president with a blindfolded American hostage during the hostage crisis of 1979 to 1981. The photo was immediately distributed around the world, and accusations that Ahmadinejad was a "hostage taker" flew fast and furious. Some of the former hostages, still bitter because they had been prevented from suing Iran for their long captivity, thought they remembered him from their experience 25 years ago.

It was all a lie.

"Tomorrow's Moon in Cancer conjunct Saturn (a depressing aspect if there ever was one) is the LAST one (in the sign Cancer) until August 29, 2032, 12:43:43 AM EDT, Washington DC/9:43:43 PM PDT. That is a cause for rejoicing. Remember, it takes Saturn 29 1/2 years to make a full circuit of the zodiac. The Moon will, of course, conjoin Saturn in the sign Leo when the Reaper makes into that sign (July 16, 2005). The good thing? It won't feel nearly as deflating. -- Starcats, 7-6-05.

Since Judith Miller is as (ir)responsible as the
neo-cons and shrub for the Iraq war she deserves a
long prison term. And I hope she gets it. She is
one nasty piece of work according to reporters that crossed her path in Iraq. I have zero sympathy for her.

Posted by: wv on July 6, 2005 11:37 PM

Morgana, fabulous article! Thank you!

Neo, that's so weird ... I didn't want to say anything, but after reading your post saying she was in Nigeria and you'd sent her all kinds of money and she couldn't give you details about her treatment I flashed to your prior missive about meeting her over the internet and thought, he's being scammed! So glad you caught on so quickly. You have a tender heart which is a huge blessing in life.

Does anyone have the birth data for Judith Miller?

Posted by: Pat C on July 7, 2005 12:10 AM

CNN NZ version reported this morning that Cooper was going to talk because his source called and gave him the OK. But they also said that Miller was refusing to talk and that she would be going to jail for 2 months (Didn't McDougal get 2 yrs!)
What if Rove knows he is off the hook because Miller talked to a higher up first?
Which brings to mind: another woman who has knowledge to bring the Bush admin down?
I have felt for a long time that the mafia went white collar republican, and has control of our govt. The revelations of dominionists etc only serve to strengthen my belief - it was the Catholic Hierarchy that aided and abetted the mafia and nazis. It wasn't so long ago, prohibition up to the Johnson era, that they controlled a good many democrats in high places.
If the mafia connection is part of all this, maybe Miller was made an offer she couldn't refuse.
On another note, I caught the Bushes arriving for the G8 - seemed like Laura had a very firm grip on George's arm. She kept walking, leaving GW sort of twisted around while trying to keep talking to a guy behind him. Rather odd.

Posted by: Kiwijeanie on July 7, 2005 12:22 AM

Thinking about the catholic hierarchy, has there ever been a chart done on the 1st council of Nicea? Or Constantine? And if that was a turning point where Roman Empire ruling elite, morphed to Roman Catholic in order to control the 'chattering class,' what might that indicate for us today?

Thanks again, everyone. I really, really mean it.

You know, it's not even the money that hurts so much -- I can bust my behind to earn it back over time, though it does almost certainly mean that I won't be able to return to school this fall as I had planned. (I'll go in January, maybe.)

It's really the total disdain for my trust, feelings and emotions that I'm still kinda smarting over. I honestly wasn't even expecting anything in return but her recovered health and safety. For all I knew, "Stephany" was probably little more than a front for a couple of Nigerian con artists who had themselves a royal good time at the expense of this foolish American's naivety and search for a soul mate. Who knows how many other poor guys and even perhaps women there are who have been played by these people?

What was it that our resident-in-chief once said? "Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Something like that, anyway.

At any rate, I'll try not to dwell upon it much more. Hey, what was I saying in the thread before the last one, about visualizing the outcome that we want and putting energy into the positive?

Thanks again for being who you all are, AWers.

Statement of Joseph Wilson on the sentencing of New York Times reporter Judith Miller

The sentencing of Judith Miller to jail for refusing to disclose her sources is the direct result of the culture of unaccountability that infects the Bush White House from top to bottom. President Bush's refusal to enforce his own call for full cooperation with the Special Counsel has brought us to this point. Clearly, the conspiracy to cover up the web of lies that underpinned the invasion of Iraq is more important to the White House than coming clean on a serious breach of national security. Thus has Ms Miller joined my wife, Valerie, and her twenty years of service to this nation as collateral damage in the smear campaign launched when I had the temerity to challenge the President on his assertion that Iraq had attempted to purchase uranium yellowcake from Africa.

The real victims of this cover-up, which may have turned criminal, are the Congress, the Constitution and, most tragically, the Americans and Iraqis who have paid the ultimate price for Bush's folly.

Of course, imho, she and the NYTimes should be in prison for her being a conduit for Chalabi giving disinformation for an invasion of Iraq.

Joe Wilson is WRONG in saying she joins his wife Valerie as collateral damage in the smear campaign. She, Miller, was actually a participant in that smear campaign... and her name should not even be spoken in the same paragraph or on the same page as Valerie Plame [imho]...

Come on Joe, enough of the nicey, nice... call the woman what she is... a criminal.

Is the CIA Behind the Iraqi "Insurgents"--and Global Terrorism?

According to a classified document prepared for Rumsfeld by his Defense Science Board, the new organization--the "Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group (P2OG)"--would actually carry out secret missions designed to provoke terrorist groups into committing violent acts. The P2OG, a 100-member, so-called "counter-terrorist" organization with a $100-million-a-year budget, would ostensibly target "terrorist leaders," but according to P2OG documents procured by Arkin, would in fact carry out missions designed to "stimulate reactions" among "terrorist groups"--which, according to the Defense Secretary's logic, would subsequently expose them to "counter-attack" by the good guys. In other words, the plan is to execute secret military operations (assassinations, sabotage, "deception") which would intentionally result in terrorist attacks on innocent people, including Americans--essentially, to "combat terrorism" by causing it!

PatC, an interesting read on Miller. I wonder if she went to school in Vegas, and her birthdate could be found that way?
----------
Miller’s dramatic way of looking at the world may have something to do with her family’s show-business background. During the forties and fifties, her father, Bill Miller, ran the Riviera nightclub in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Famed for its retractable roof, the Riviera staged shows by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Tito Puente. When the state highway commission ordered the Riviera condemned in 1953, Miller made his way to Vegas, proving his impresario bona fides by reviving the careers of Elvis Presley and Marlene Dietrich.

You're welcome Trudy... if you found that interesting (link at 6:41 pm), you'll also like this Part I piece from Black Commentator... Part II comes out tomorrow...

~snip~

"...The reality, not taught in American schools and textbooks, is that war – whether on a large or small scale – and domestic violence have been ever-present features of American life and culture from this country's earliest days almost 400 years ago. Violence, in varying forms, according to the leading historian of the subject, Richard Maxwell Brown, "has accompanied virtually every stage and aspect of our national experience," and is "part of our unacknowledged (underground) value structure." Indeed, "repeated episodes of violence going far back into our colonial past, have imprinted upon our citizens a propensity to violence."

Thus, America demonstrated a national predilection for war and domestic violence long before the 9/11 attacks, but its leaders and intellectuals through most of the last century cultivated the national self-image, a myth, of America as a moral, "peace-loving" nation which the American population seems unquestioningly to have embraced."

Jo, thanks for posting on "Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group (P2OG)"--would actually carry out secret missions designed to provoke terrorist groups into committing violent acts.

What hits me between the eyes is the use of the name 'P2' - that is a group that is heavily intertwined with nefarious mafia/catholic deeds. David Yallop in his book "In God's Name" (events surrounding the suprise death of the pope John Paul succeeded) expands on this. If you have not read it, try to get a copy.
And the picture that I keep getting in my mind is Cheney going out of his way to visit John Paul before the Iraq war and practically falling over himself to kiss the Pontif's hand.

Friends, I have returned from what my son calls battle-cry mode, a day spent speaking to the "higher ups", (i'm not easily impressed-even if you were appointed by the govenor),a day spent hopefully shining a light on some of the scams, lies and deceptions perpetrated against the vulnerable. I volunteer as an ombudsman in skilled nursing facilities. The new director is sadly lacking in compassion for those we serve, has been decimating our services-i think she took her managerial training from chainsaw Al. Needless to say my one true purpose is to advocate for those unable to speak for themselves. My great weapon- i'm a volunteer. i have nothing to lose...the political merry go round is still spinning but i'm hoping that it's the last whirl, time will tell. Rove To Be Indicted?
by Joshua Frank
www.dissidentvoice.org
July 5, 2005
-- Updated July 6 --

Occasionally I get e-mails from Washington folks who work on the Hill claiming to possess juicy insider digs on our public servants and their corporate paymasters. I usually delete said e-mails, as I don't want to be responsible for propagating dirty rumors or false information that can't be corroborated. I'd rather let Judith Miller and the New York Times do that. Nonetheless, in the past 24 hours I have been contacted by three separate congressional Democrats in Washington, and a Justice Department official, first by e-mail and later phone, who all say the same thing: Karl Rove is about to be indicted.

All this comes on the heels of events that transpired over the weekend, as two different individuals, journalist Michael Isikoff and political commentator Lawrence O'Donnell, both claimed that Karl Rove might have been responsible for leaking the identity of an undercover CIA officer's identity to Matt Cooper of Time magazine. Isikoff claims that Cooper talked to Rove during the period that Valerie Plame's identity was leaked, but there is still no proof that Rove was the culprit. As Isikoff of Newsweek wrote on July 3:

“The e-mails surrendered by Time Inc., which are largely between Cooper and his editors, show that one of Cooper's sources was White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove, according to two lawyers who asked not to be identified because they are representing witnesses sympathetic to the White House. Cooper and a Time spokeswoman declined to comment. But in an interview with Newsweek, Rove's lawyer, Robert Luskin, confirmed that Rove had been interviewed by Cooper for the article.”

If it turns out that Rove did leak Plame’s identity to Cooper, it still does not necessarily mean that he was also Robert Novak's inside guy, although it surely raises suspicion. The indictment, as I am told, will most likely be of felony weight. In fact, Karl Rove may be accused of perjury, as Bush's top strategist told a grand jury that he was not responsible for leaking Plame's identity to Time.

So the charge may not be for leaking top-secret information to the press, but for perjuring himself.

Sources also all say that this indictment is likely to come down either late this week or early next week. Of course Rove's lawyer denies that his client ever “knowingly” handed over classified information to the media, or is the “target” of any investigation. Perhaps Rove “unknowingly” leaked the information, and he's the “subject” rather than a “target” of an investigation. Time will tell.

Apparently, I'm not the only one who has been leaked this information either. Over at Redstate, a right-wing Internet blog, one member who calls himself “Ohsure”, also claims that “[four] Great sources confirmed” the matter, and later added: “I not only don't do this, I have never done this. But here it is; ‘Karl Rove will be indicted late this, or early next week.’ I'm trusting a source. So either I am made a [sic] into an overzealous horses a**, or..., I have good sources and may be more trusted to get these things right.”

Rove is so tied with Bush senior i keep thinking that there will be others who will have to fall as well, maybe Libby in Cheney's office and Cheney himself. I keep looking for the pointy shiny things in the grass. It seems the powers behind the scene are ready for a few "soldiers" to fall on their swords.

The moon went over 19 Cancer as all this was brewing for Cooper/Miller and Rove. Watch what happens when Mars hits the Eclipse point of 19 Aries. You see all involved, including Bush have sensitive points in these areas either by natal or progressed. Squares, oppositions, quincunxes, sesquiquadrants, you name it.

I think Rove thought he could put a strangle hold on information by assuming that reporters would never give up their sources... and he could eliminate real investigative journalism by getting courts to prosecute those who don't speak AND he could mask his own deeds in one deft move. We'll see. I just realized that what I just said doesn't make any sense.

But watch the Moon and Mars anyway. The solar elipse this April was at 19 Aries. Mr. Rove's natal moon is at 18 Cancer. His natal Neptune is at 19 Libra.

A few other choice components not related to the eclipse but are significant. His progressed Chiron has just changed signs and is at 0 Capricorn very near his natal MC and Sun. The progressed Sun is about to go into 0 Pices to form a 150 aspect to progressed Saturn at 1Libra. And as I said before his Solar Return for this year has a fixed grand cross: Jupiter/Neptune, VX/Mars/Saturn. We'll see.

Thanks Beasley,

tMars at 19 Aries will be Sun/Mon... tSun will be 18/19 Cancer and tSaturn will be 29 Cancer, degree of expiation... atonement?

very interesting... the essentially got Nixon for perjury, didn't they? Cover-up, deceit, lying... well, well, well...

We shall see indeed... poster at Liberal Street Fighter sez:

Cooper is under the impression that testifying will be less harmful to him than NOT testifying.

Miller is under the reverse impression.

They must have different sources, and/or different information.

Miller’s source (or her position regarding that source) threatens her ass more than does jail.

As in “We will F@#% YOU UP” if you cave. As in “Don’t worry...a year or so of appeals, then a few months in jail where you can write a big fat book for which we promise you will receive a big fat check, then a Presidential pardon no matter WHICH front man or woman is in office by that time.”

The carrot AND the stick.

Plata ó plomo? (Mexican gangsters’ standard offer. Silver or lead?)

This has nothing to do with principles.

And EVERYTHING to do with PRINCIPALS.

The people with whom the two so-called “reporters” are really involved.

Watch.

You’ll see.

With whom did Ms. Miller sleep again?

Ahmed Chalabi.

Spook CITY.

War Criminal Junction.

Arms Dealer Nation.

And Cooper sleeps at home.

Bet on it.

I've believed long before Junior took office, that "Poppy" Bush Sr. is the REAL Phantom Menace. Give him a hooded dark robe, and old man Bush would make a fitting Lord Palpatine.

As for Cheney and Rove, they're more or less equivalents of Palpatine/Darth Sidious' disciple, Count Dooku (a.k.a. Darth Tyranus). They're probably about as expendable as Dooku was as well when it really comes down to keeping the "empire" intact.

The question is, can Fitzgerald and Co. manage to tie the compromise and corruption all the way back up to the Emperor himself?

Thank you for the post re: Black Commentator
Yes, America is a violent country--but there is some room for prespective.
The history of the world is actually very violent--In the book "Bloodline of the Holy Grail" the author in one portion lists the many battles taking place through the Middle Ages and into modern Europe/England--it makes your eyes roll and your head spin!!

My take is that WWI and WW II was the GREAT transformation for Europe--their psyche has cleared some that violence. They are more ready to attempt negotiations.

It is now time for the Great Transformation of America.
I think Pluto was a big player during World War Two, and is now doing his number on America.
Pluto is now in my third house--I have survived him going through House One and Two and learned a lot about humility.

If we work things out in a mental/emotional/spiritual way, we do not need to experience it on the physical.

Blasts rock London transit system
Last Updated Thu, 07 Jul 2005 06:25:53 EDT
CBC News

An explosion destroyed a double-decker bus in London Thursday about an hour after a number of other blasts shut down the city's entire subway system.

A number of witnesses say the roof was blown off a double-decker bus near Tavistock Square in central London.
Injured tube passengers are escorted away from London subway station. (CP Photo)

There has been no confirmation of deaths, but witnesses have reported seeing bodies under sheets.

Trudy,

I agree... his-story is a chronology of war. No mention of 'life'... particularly devoid of the role of women.

However, the series in Black Commentator is a scholarly study, analysis... a point of view of course. The second part can be found at link below. It has always struck me that the USA chart shows us to be an entity prone to violence...
Mars rules the Aries HOMELAND (IV house) of America (of course all energies are subject to change).

------------------

"...Between August 2002 and October 2002 President Bush successfully drummed up a war fever in America designed to topple Iraqi Dictator Saddam Hussein, alleged to be the possessor of weapons of mass destruction that he planned to use on America.

Bush did so without providing the evidence, the costs, the "why now" explanation, or long-term implications of such a war, yet still received the United States Congress' virtual declaration of war for a historically unprecedented pre-emptive strike. And even now, the Congress and just about all of the nation's media outlets have still refused to demand answers to the hard questions about what has been taking place in Iraq. Only a society accustomed to war – and predisposed to the use of war and violence – would accept war so quickly.

When all of President Bush's explanations for the American invasion of Iraq crashed, he quickly shifted to the time-tested American "just-war" rationale for war – America had to liberate an oppressed people and help them create liberty and democracy. This has been an American claim – and cultural ideal – since the War of 1812."

Ok, everyone, please pardon me for being cynical, but does anyone else smell a rat in these London bombings?
I mean, Blair just announced that the UK would be pulling troops from Iraq AND Rove is all over the newscycle---
now comes this bombing and it's attributed to Al-CIAduh(!)???
Call me a tinfoil hathead if you must, but I see this as an attempt by Poppy & the B*shitters to keep Tony in line and keep his troops in our little quagmire...

flame if you must, but it all just seems too coincidental to me...

Has anyone done a chart for these bombings? I'd like to see what that reveals....

No criticism from this direction, Garry... sounds about correct to me... esp since the arrogant criminal wargeezers are not bothering to hide their "stuff" these days.

Posted by: JoannaOregon on July 7, 2005 02:27 PM

You're not alone Garry. I had the same thoughts. This seems like a welcome diversion from the DMS memos and the potential Rove/Plamegate.

I found the news story of Bush still trying to defend the Iraq war kinda sad but of course this bombing would certainly give Blair an anti-terror bully pulpit from which he could help divert the attention from the failed war in Iraq.

Jo, I am not sure who you think will sleep with fishes, but when I heard Miller was going to prison (huzzaaaahhhhh!) and Cooper was not because he would testify, I wondered how long before he was the target of an 'accident' before testifying.

I heard an Air America host talking about the difference between not revealing your sources to keep a whistleblower safe and not revealing a source in which treason has been committed. It is a similar ethical situation with a priest who hears a murder confession and won't reveal the source. But high treason is in a class by itself.....a crime against more than ONE person....

PS....I had no idea of Miller's 'connectedness'......but she is a piece of work for sure.

I was posting the comments of another poster, at Liberal Street Fighter... the implication being that Cooper's source is different from Miller's: that Cooper's motives are different from Miller's: that Miller's source has probably threatened her, hence the reference to "sleeping with fishes" if she talks...

A series of terrorist bombings struck London this morning less than 48 hours after the New Moon in Cancer square Mars and Jupiter. The New Moon chart for London has Jupiter exactly on the Ascendant, the Sun-Moon conjunction on the Midheaven and Mars conjunct the Descendant. The angularity of these planets shows their importance in this location. The choice of London for the 2012 Olympics and the G8 meeting in Scotland had already put Great Britain in the headlines. British historian and astrologer Nicholas Campion recommends the Act of Union chart of January 1, 1801 (midnight, Westminster) as "the most useful for the United Kingdom" in his invaluable reference The Book of World Horoscopes. This chart has the Sun at 10 Capricorn opposite the Moon at 19 Cancer, both within orb of this week's New Moon at 14 Cancer. The Moon's Nodes in the UK chart are 14 Aries and Libra, in line with the New Moon Mars-Jupiter opposition and conjunct its nodes, as well.

FOR THE WEEK OF July 8 - 14, 2005
Whatever was introduced by the Cancer new moon on the 6th has yet to make its presence known, so tread lightly this weekend. That advice shouldn’t be difficult to follow, since Neptune, ruler of movies, music and dance, is so prominently featured; it is a focal point for Mars and Venus and, later in the week, Mercury. Fiery Mars in fiery Aries could ignite temper tantrums Tuesday when it is tested by the emotional Cancer sun. But by the following weekend, anticipate a more than satisfactory resolution as passionate Pluto in Sag and affectionate Venus in Leo perfect a grand fire trine with horny Mr. Macho.

This whole ordeal smells rotten. I also think this is a huge set up by the powers that be as a diversionary tactic to bring others into the fold right at the beginning of G8. Did anyone else notice how cocky the Idiot looked in the news yesterday? Also, the way that Barbara had a very scared look on her face and a death grip on her Idiot's arm? Did she know that "something" was going to happen? The Idiot's body language gave me the first clue that something was amiss.

We are witnessing history alright....Not only is there a Hostile takeover of our country taking place, but the whole world as well.

So sad, so sad....

Netanyahu Changed Plans Due to Warning

British police told the Israeli Embassy in London minutes before Thursday's explosions that they had received warnings of possible terror attacks in the city, a senior Israeli official said.

Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had planned to attend an economic conference in a hotel over the subway stop where one of the blasts occurred, and the warning prompted him to stay in his hotel room instead, government officials said.

Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said he wasn't aware of any Israeli casualties.

Just before the blasts, Scotland Yard called the security officer at the Israeli Embassy to say they had received warnings of possible attacks, the official said. He did not say whether British police made any link to the economic conference.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the nature of his position.

The Israeli Embassy was in a state of emergency after the explosions in London, with no one allowed to enter or leave, said the Israeli ambassador to London, Zvi Hefet.

All phone lines to the embassy were down, said Danny Biran, an Israeli Foreign Ministry official.

But what's the deal with Israeli embassy? in London? And I didn't know Israel was part of G8? [my point here is that London is FILLED with embassies, right? So, exactly what was the nature of the threat or intelligence received by the Brits?

Posted by: Jo on July 7, 2005 07:11 PM

Here's a bit more info:

"...Contrary to original claims that Israel was warned “minutes before” the first attack, unconfirmed rumors in intelligence circles indicate that the Israeli government actually warned London of the attacks “a couple of days” previous. Israel has apparently given other warnings about possible attacks that turned out to be aborted operations. The British government did not want to disrupt the G-8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland, or call off visits by foreign dignitaries to London, hoping this would be another false alarm.

The British government sat on this information for days and failed to respond. Though the Israeli government is playing along publicly, it may not stay quiet for long. This is sure to apply pressure on Blair very soon for his failure to deter this major terrorist attack.

On the London Bombings

Posted by: Pat C on July 7, 2005 07:54 PM

Scott K and all,

Key date and time for many things coming to fruition or a head, is Aug 9, 2006, at 5:05 AM, EDT, in Washington, D.C. That's 12:05 PM, BAT, in Baghdad.

That is a Full Moon in right ascension, the longitudinal Full Moon is 1 hour and 48 minutes later. This is important because it changes angles of charts progressed by elapsed lunar arc (which I use to progress all lunar returns) by more than 1 degree.

In the past week or so I have been looking at the August, early September 2006 period expecting to find the end of the Bush regime. It may be there but I am wondering if we might be briefly living in a police state or under a publicly announced dictator in August.

I have done several hundred charts looking at this period of time. The charts are based on the Sibley chart, Washington's inauguration, Bushes natal relocated to Washington, Bush's inauguration, the attack on the World Trade Center, the Homeland Security Act, the attack on Iraq, the attacks in London this morning, the Sidereal Cansolar (progressed), it's progressed anlunars and demi-anlunars. I have used natals, secondary progressions, lunar and demilunar returns (all progressed), solar or demi-solar returns (all progressed) and the anlunars and demi-anlunars (also all progressed) derived from them. The locations are for Washington, D.C., London, England, and Baghdad, Iraq.

I must figure out where I can make these charts (at least some of them) available on the internet for others. I think I can do it on Yahoo.

In the meantime if any are interested locate the chart for the attack on Iraq to Washington, D.C.. Locate Bush's natal chart to Iraq. Do the right ascension full moon chart for Baghdad. Stack the 3 in a triwheel!

Attack Iraq MC 138d 56m
Bush Iraq MC 139d 46m
RA full moon MC 138d 23m (in Iraq)
RA Sun in FM chart 139d 06m
RA Moon in FM chart 319d 06m
RA Saturn in FM chart 137d 48m

The MC for the attack on Iraq precession corrected solar return progressed to the time of the Full Moon will be 180 degrees from the above MCs at 318d 24m placing Full Moon at the MC and Full Moon Sun and Saturn at the IC.

Will we be pushed out or will there be a planned withdrawal for congressional campaign purposes? Which\what ever it is there is some nasty backlash to it in the the 3 weeks that follow. Time for a nap.

Some more to chew on:

Today -July 7, 2005 is three 7s... in Tarot the number 7 represents the end of a cycle. These three 7s add up to 21. The number 21 is represented by The World trump. Astrological attribution: Saturn

Upright -- Attainment.
Reversed - Partial, incomplete or unfinished project.

The Madrid bombings killed 191 people and wounded more than 1,800. First the outgoing gov't accused Al-Qaida and then it surfaced that ETA was responsible, and finally --- gov't has never said anything further. Alert levels were raised across Europe, but as far as I can ascertain, not in the USA --- see
http://hannah.smith-family.com/archive/000293.html

However, alert level has been elevated today all across Europe, Canada and here in USA (at least in transportation grids)

Several astrologers have spoken of a "shift in energy" with the two moons in Capricorn... one in particular here at this link: ---

"... But with these two consecutive Full Moons in Capricorn (June 21, July 21 2005) we are witnessing a "shift of gears" in the Nation's laws and government via Saturn which, while in Cancer for the June 21 Full Moon, will shift into Leo for the July 21 Full Moon. G.W. Bush and his colleagues are about to become STERN DISCIPLINARIANS. The emphasis of Saturn will shift from Cancer Feeling into Leo Leadership; he and his administration are about to begin to play HARD BALL. I see stricter law enforcement on the immediate horizon, financial constraints, an Executive call sent out to the People to "tighten their belts" and get ready for "greater sacrifices". And this is the "Karmic" (payback) indicated by the USA Sun in Cancer being in Square aspect to the USA Saturn in Libra at the birth of America. The LAW is going to RULE. And the Cancer Person of the President is going to "BE" both that RULE and that LAW.

The DICTATOR will probably try to assume his ROLE in September as transiting Saturn in Leo exactly conjuncts the Natal USA Lunar Node ( there will be 3 of these conjunctions: Sept. 16, 2005; Jan. 31, 2006 [Rx.]; June 6, 2006 ) and he will probably need some "new" NEW PEARL HARBOR event to make this possible. Consequently, I think we need to be fully alert right now as the Saturn "gear shift" from Cancer to Leo occurs between these two immediately consecutive Full Moons in Capricorn. Something is being planned right now, something -an EVENT- that will be designed to make us all crave greater Saturn Law & Order.

US Military Contingent Arrives in Paraguay

Asuncion, Jul 1 (Prensa Latina) The Paraguayan government opened its doors to
a US military contingent comprised of planes, weapons, equipment and
ammunition, which arrived in Paraguay after the National Congress granted immunity to
US soldiers.

US Ambassador to Asuncion Francis Keane informed Friday his country would
give Paraguay financial assistance to fight corruption, money laundering and
terrorism.

This group is the first of a total of 13, with the possibility the number may
increase, and will stay in Paraguay until December 31 2006, as determined by
the Commission of Constitutional Affairs of the Paraguayan Senate.

The request had been sent to the Ministry of National Defense, after an
agreement came into force on June 1 granting US troops total immunity in Paraguay.

Besides having the same prerogatives of a diplomat, these soldiers will not
be held accountable for damages caused to public health, the environment or the
country's resources.

Chalmers Johnson on Robbing the Cradle of Civilization

Another successful landmark has been reached in our occupation of Iraq: The World Monuments Fund has just placed the country on its list of the Earth's 100 most endangered sites. ("Widespread looting, military occupation, artillery fire, vandalism, and other acts of violence are devastating Iraq, long considered the cradle of human civilization.") This is the first time that the Fund has ever put a whole nation on its list and so represents a singular accomplishment for the Bush administration, which knew not -- and cared less -- what it wrought.

The destruction began as Baghdad fell. Words disappeared instantly. They simply blinked off the screen of Iraqi history, many of them forever. First, there was the looting of the National Museum. That took care of some of the earliest words on clay, including, possibly, cuneiform tablets with missing parts of the epic of Gilgamesh. Soon after, the great libraries and archives of the capital went up in flames and books, letters, government documents, ancient Korans, religious manuscripts, stretching back centuries -- all those things not pressed into clay, or etched on stone, or engraved on metal, just words on that most precious and perishable of all commonplaces, paper -- vanished forever. What we're talking about, of course, is the flesh of history. And it was no less a victim of the American invasion -- of the Bush administration's lack of attention to, its lack of any sense of the value of what Iraq held! (other than oil) -- than the Iraqi people. All of this has been, in that grim phrase created by the Pentagon, "collateral damage."

Worse yet, the looting of antiquity, words and objects, not only never ended but seems to have accelerated. From well organized gangs of grave robbers to American engineers building bases to American soldiers taking souvenirs, the ancient inheritance not just of Iraqis but of all of us has simply headed south. According to Reuters, more than 1,000 Iraqi objects of antiquity have been confiscated at American airports; priceless cylinder seals are evidently selling on-line at eBay for a few hundred dollars apiece; and this represents just the tiniest fraction of what's gone. The process is not only unending, but in the chaos that is America's Iraq beyond counting or assessing accurately.

JO, thanks.....but do you think also that it is possible (and I did wonder if somehow there are two sources for those leaks) that Cooper, who is going to testify, will end up like a mafia witness? I.E....dead?

And of course, this London fiasco smells to high heaven to me....and if the population of this country doesn't wake up to the danger, we are in even bigger trouble.

My "guides" have been identifying Aug 5 as a big day and a turn of events for bushters. And I found an old post of mine at astrodata at the chart of Cheney in which I thought Aug 5 was going to be a deciding day in Cheney's chart....I had forgotten about that. So to have Aug 9 come up for others kind of cements some of the importance.

I didn't know that in numerology (which I've studied) that 7 is an 'end of a cycle' number. I believe that 9 (the Hermit, searching the cave with his light for truth) holds that prize.... 7 is the Chariot...major effort, escape, rushing to decision, trouble, adversity, conflicting influence, turmoil and vengence. I can't find that post now, so I am just saying this from memory...but one can't help but notice the 7's. And for whomever was responsible for the bombings, 3 7's added up to tarot card XXI The World: "Perfection. Recognition. Honor. Triumph in undertakings." And 45+ dead....may their souls be blessed on their journey.

7: Seven is regarded as a spiritual and introspective number. Being an odd number, it carries an active, forceful, and sometimes disruptive connotation.

* 9: Nine is the last single digit in the series. It carries a connotation of completion or the ending of a cycle. It can signify the wisdom that is achieved toward the end of a cycle.

Esoteric astrology has the Chariot as walking the middle road and seeing both sides, the darka and the light while not being comittedd to either one, just an obserber. It is the state of Samadhi.

Mundane is all too often a legal battle.

Okay, I have a good friend in London right now. I'm worried becuase I haven't heard from him and I think that his mom lives close to one of the stations bombed.

I am going to say something that may really anger some people here on this board. I hope I don't hurt feelings. I am angry and pissed. All I hear is that this isn't true Islam. But, it's not just Islam, IT"S ALL RELIGION!!!! Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Wicca...all of them!!!

People are so shocked with religious violence, but how time and time again throughout history, this has been the outcome of religion!!! Even my great-grandmothers native American religion was used to oppress women. Yes, sorry to burst bubbles, but coming from a mixed family native americans beliefs are sexist and homophobic. This is why not one native tribe has legalized gay marriage in their tribes.

Religion just creates the myth that we are seperate from each other.

Every religious person I have met, not matter the belief feel that they are somehow better, more enlightned, more evolved then others! I have even been attacked my new agers who claimed me a "new soul" becuase if I was an "old soul" I would think just like them. How conventient!

But, really, we are all made of the same carbon material that also created the gases that created the solar system. That is a truth, not the mythology of some virgin birth or some hell with a man with horns.

Thanks for letting me vent. I appreciate you guys.

I have a question.....is England on British Summer Time? Or Greenwhich Mean Time? below is the local times and stats for each explosion...

— 8:51 a.m.: Blast catches subway train between Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations, on the eastern fringe of London's financial district. Seven died, police said.

Moorgate is named for one of the gates in the city walls of London, of which few traces remain. Some people caught in the blast emerged from the Aldgate Station, near Jack the Ripper's old haunts in Whitechapel.

— 8:56 a.m.: Blast catches a second train deep underground between the King's Cross and Russell Square stations. Police said 21 died.

King's Cross station, in one of the seediest parts of London, is the film setting for Platform 9 3/4 in the Harry Potter films.Russell Square station serves Bloomsbury, the early 20th-century literary hotbed where Virginia Woolf and luminaries lived. The British Museum is a short walk away.

— 9:17 a.m.: Explosion as train enters Edgeware Road station. Five died in an explosion involving two or perhaps three trains, police said. Edgware Road is the heart of a thriving Arab community, and convenient to Hyde Park, scene of last weekend's Live 8 concert.

— 9:47 a.m.: Double-decker bus torn apart by explosion near Russell Square, an area of many modestly priced hotels popular with tourists and close to the British Museum. Also nearby is the home where Charles Dickens lived from 1837 to 1839.

As a Gemini, I am basically a dilettante :-)
you know, I dabble in this and I dabble in that...
So, in that manner of speaking I have 'studied' Tarot and I have studied numerology (as I have studied astrology!)

Basically in numerology when one is attempting to get a number for a date --- a birth or event etc. -- one adds the digits for a sum... (elementary my dear Watson, don't insult folks!) I was giving the number 7 for the digits - 7th month, 7th day, 2+5, a 7 for the year. So, I used the digit 7, not the trump, Chariot. I used the trump for the sum. In my Easy Tarot Guide by Marcia Masino, the 'sevens' are defined as "ending a cycle" and the unfolding of the soul. So you are correct Judi that 7 is a spiritual number. the nines also as you state indicate a cycle ending. Pat C's addition of the meaning for the Chariot adds much. But in this case, today's date and the event, I was just dabbling around trying to get a 'feel' for the numbers... from my own particular POV, I would use a trump for the total, as the three sevens have more depth to me than a single seven... the dabbling keeps me busy and the horror at bay...

At any rate, the additional comments merely add more flavor, like more condiments to the soup...

My heart goes out to the folks in London... the devastation, the carnage, the horror of it all...

The 'whole' thing though has the feel for me of a play within a play... like the horror of today and 3/11 and 9/11... can be used to manipulate all of us into sanctioning the invasion of Iraq, the ongoing occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and who knows whatever is next... I'm feeling like a pawn in a chess game... a fish in a net.

Travieso, I couldn't agree more with you.....I feel the same way, althought I have not been a member of any religious church since I was 15, I have seen too much evidence of the indoctrination in all religions.....and women are the pack animals of the world for the most part. ANd that is why Americans owe a great deal to those founding fathers who remembered that same fact and history of hangings (including, 120 years earlier, my own 13th great grandmother) and persecutions experienced in both Europe and America and fought for the separation of church and state. 'And now the 'moron millions', as the Bushaholics call them, are calling for 'God' in our government. No offense to a belief in God.....we should be able to believe what we want, but not when it kills or enslaves or lessens or harms our fellow human beings...or forces them to participate in something they don't want.

UGgggggghhhhhhh.....when will they wake up?

Posted by: judi gemini on July 7, 2005 11:24 PM

Judi, kuddos to you. I don't care what people believe in personally. But, when they kill, discriminate, mame, or destroy in the name of the their god, or whatever, they will hear it from people like us.

Posted by: Travieso on July 7, 2005 11:29 PM

Jo...XXI is my 'card'.....my birthdate adds up to XXI.....and 7 is my birthday in June. (I am a 3 in numerology, with 21 as the additional influence). My daughter is a 7.....I've always related to the Chariot as well as the World card. It is a complex system, but I agree with one thing....there is a fit with the 3/11 and 9/11. As I looked at this I realized that 3/11 reduces to 5 and 9/11 reduces to 2 ...which equals 7.

Posted by: judi gemini on July 7, 2005 11:30 PM

May I join your non-religious contingent? Not to go over the top, but it seems to me that "god" is the name people give to sanctify their evil impulses.........and all the good that they allegedly do is always contingent on the obedience (subjugation) of their recipients. At this point, call me a secular humanist till I die.

here's a post from a Brit, living in London...

At the end of the day
According to the latest update:

Three bombs at three trains on the Underground: Liverpool Street station, Piccadilly line near King’s Cross, and Edgeware Road. Plus one bomb that went off on a double-decker bus at Tavistock Square, near Russell Square. All three bombs on the Underground were reported twice - the blast was felt (naturally enough) in both directions. The bomb on the 30 bus was almost certainly a mistake, not meant to go off there.

At least 38 people have definitely been killed. 45 people have very serious or critical injuries: 250 to 700 people have less serious injuries. Scotland Yard has set up a casualty bureau for people to call if they are worried that someone missing may be among the seriously injured or dead. The number is 0870 1566 344. (If you’re outside the UK, omit the leading 0 and use the country code.)

Now here’s the thing:

The Underground will be back in service tomorrow.

Central London buses started running again late this afternoon.

The airports never closed.

You want to know how Brits react to a crisis? Go read a sampling of the jokes made on livejournal today.

And now, thanks to all who offered sympathy. Let me put the kettle on and make you a nice hot cup of tea. And we’ll have a sit down and a biscuit.

To all those waving the Union Jack to show support: it’s very nice of you, but you should know… we don’t do flag-waving the way you guys do. Ever see the end of Carry On Up The Khyber? Ahem. No, perhaps not.

Have a mug of tea and read the jokes. They’re good.

In Iraq, U.S.-backed counterinsurgency groups are engaging in the same practices of kidnapping, torture, and murder that were employed in Guatemala and El Salvador. With each passing day in Iraq, more and more bodies of suspected insurgents are turning up exhibiting clear signs of torture and summary execution.

The Miller/Fitzgerald Backstory
http://www.tpmcafe.com/story/2005/7/7/1148/62336
By Josh Marshall
From: Politics
Don't forget: This isn't the first time Plame prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has tangled with Judy Miller while investigating a leak out of the Bush White House.

A little more than a year ago, I reported on TPM how Fitzgerald had quite aggressively investigated another Bush White House leak in late 2001 and early 2002. Fitzgerald had been investigating three Islamic charities accused of supporting terrorism -- the Holy Land Foundation, the Global Relief Foundation, and the Benevolence International Foundation. But just before his investigators could swoop in with warrants, two of the charities in question got wind of what was coming and, apparently, were able to destroy a good deal of evidence.

What tipped them off were calls from two reporters at the New York Times who'd been leaked information about the investigation by folks at the White House.

One of those two reporters was Judy Miller.

Jul 07, 2005 -- 01:14:08 AM EST
Now, the way I found out about all this originally was entirely fortuitous. While reporting on a completely unrelated story, I was interviewing a Washington foreign policy hand. And after some time talking we get to exchanging notes and speculating about the Plame investigation. My biggest interest was in finding out just how straight a shooter Patrick Fitzgerald was and whether there was reason to think he'd mount a tough and independent investigation, given the fact that he'd been appointed by John Ashcroft's No.2 at the Justice Department.

My conversation partner told me he didn't have much doubt Fitzgerald would be aggressive. And he pointed to his knowledge of the earlier investigation. In his view (though I was never quite clear why), in the earlier case, the folks at the White House had actually had fairly clean hands. But Fitzgerald had gone after them in a big way. (See more details here.)

Given that backstory, he didn't think Fitzgerald would go easy on the White House if there was a case to be made. And largely on that basis, I've always assumed Fitzgerald's inquiry would be the real thing.

Now, what does it all mean?

Hard to say.

Certainly, one plausible way of reading the facts, though not the one I'm inclined toward, is that Fitzgerald's got it in for Miller. She blew an earlier case he was working on. And now he's going to stick it to her on this one.

Or perhaps there's another explanation. Maybe there's something Fitzgerald knows about Miller's working relationships with particular figures at NSC or on the White House staff that made him fix on her, despite the fact that she never even wrote on the story.

Of course, maybe it's just a weird coincidence, though it'd be quite a coincidence.
In any case, with all the heat bearing down right now on this story, I'm more than a little surprised this connection hasn't gotten more attention.

Except during Football matches Jo. Then the Brits DO wave the union Jack. They let it all out at one time and get it over with.

There is one uncanny connection between 9/11 and 7/7 attacks. You know what it is? you give up?
It is Grand slam tennis tournament. 9/11 happened
the week following the finals of US Open tennis.
Today, the attacks in London happened the week
after the Wimbledon finals!

So a group of heretofore unknown Arab 'terrorists' [a seccrett group, that's why they're unknown] hear that the Brits are going to start withdrawing their troops from Iraq... they can no longer contain their anger... they decide to bomb the transportation system in London, in an Arab neighborhood, no less.

Then after the bombings, they go online and take credit for this dastardly deed, and misquote the Qu'ran.. and the Brits become so angry they change their mind... instead of withdrawing their troops, they send more...

Ohhh, puleeze... do I have stupid written cross my forehead? Tony, you really think Brits are going to buy this sell?

Didn't bombings in Madrid happen AFTER Spain's candidate (later winner) announced he would withdraw Spanish troops from Iraq?

There is a connection between the bombings and the Spring Equinox chart. Or at least for the sorrow and upset that follows these kinds of things. In the Spring Equinox chart, there was a Moon Mars opposition across the horizon line in London.

Moon 29Cancer39
Mars29Cap50
Acendant 1 Leo

Natal Saturn was moving toward conjunct the Moon from 20Cancer24.

As of July 5, transiting Saturn had moved to within a one degree orb of that Moon, and by the time of the attacks this AM, the Moon had moved to 24 Cancer, stimulating the transiting Saturn, natal Moon/Saturn in the equinox chart. There were several hours until the transiting Moon Saturn conjunction was exact, during which people absorbed the sorrow of the day.

Attack Moon 24Cancer23
Attack Saturn 28Cancer49
Equinox Moon 29Cancer39

The DC Snipers used to attack when the Moon was within a few degrees of a hard, waxing aspect to Saturn, suggesting several hours of upset and grief each time.

The exact transiting Saturn/Equinox Moon conjunction at 29Cancer 39 will be on July 13. The next 6 days will have a sorrowful, burdened and upset energy, especially in Britain where this aspect is so strong in the Equinox chart.

Here you go Beasley:

http://www.thesimon.com/magazine/articles/canon_fodder/0889_what_behind_london_attacks.html

The cover-up, disinformation has already begun, just as it did after 9/11 and 3/11...

Websites are stripping down... Drudge Reports previous reports by Netanyahu that Israeli embassy had been warned before blasts have been removed... but you can still find the story online, one place in particular is here:

http://www.israelnn.com/news.php3?id=85346

Then of course there are Blair's claims that it was Islamic extremists, reported by Yahoo, again, backed up by analysts, who happen to be:

Boaz Ganor, director general of Israel's International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism, said Thursday's attacks bore all the hallmarks of Al-Qaeda or one its satellites.

"If you look at the modus operandi, this is definitely the work of radical Islamic terrorist organisations with the attempt to achieve mass civilian casualties," he told AFP.

Mordechai Kedar, a counter-terrorism analyst for Israel's public television, said the attack was part of "the global jihad" and that the perpetrators would not shrink from striking elsewhere, including countries that opposed the Iraq war.

-----------
Then there's this blatant lie in same Yahoo article ... [no mention of Brits’ announcement to withdraw troops, and denial in second paragraph of coming withdrawal of British troops]:

"...The Madrid blasts were widely seen as a revenge attack on Spain for the former conservative government's decision to send troops to Iraq in defiance of popular opposition. The Socialist government elected three days after the Madrid carnage promptly fulfilled an election pledge to withdraw Spanish forces.

Britain, though, was not contemplating a similar move. Blair, who was re-elected in May, remains Washington's strongest ally in military operations in Iraq, where he maintains 7,500 troops to help a US-led coalition facing a relentless insurgency."

Anyone see anything in the works that could indicate a full-blown energy crisis?

---

The Peak Oil Crisis: Mid-Year 2005

As we enter the second half of the year, there is still no general recognition that a world-class crisis is about to take place.

Optimism abounds.

In June General Motors, by offering "employee discounts," managed to increase sales to the highest level in 19 years. A senior official of the Saudi Oil Company has been running around Washington with the message -- "All is well." Saudi Arabia will increase its production from the current 10 million barrels a day to 12 or 15 million or perhaps down the road, 25 million. Allegations that Saudi production is about to enter a steep decline are said to be simply not true.

The U.S. economy is still doing well with only the first glimmer that much higher energy prices will soon devastate the bottom line of many corporations. Over the 4th of July weekend, Americans took to the highways in record numbers undeterred by $2.25 gasoline. Congress, feeling impelled to do something about rising gas prices, has passed a pair of dissimilar energy bills which, even though they will have little immediate impact, make it look as if our elected representatives are doing something.

However, despite the apparent lack of concern, the evidence continues to accumulate that we are rapidly approaching a sizeable mismatch between available supply and demand. Last week, oil climbed to over $60 a barrel, settled back several dollars, and climbed again. These fluctuations are attributable to concerns about supplies and to producer secrecy that leaves oil traders with imperfect knowledge as to the true world oil situation. This in turn leads to price gyrations based on political developments having the potential of leading to restrictions on oil supplies.

--snip--

Thus, as we move into the Summer of 2005, it would appear that the United States , the most oil dependent country on earth, is in near total denial about the twin specters of global warming and peak oil.

Look to the 28/29 degrees Saturn in Cancer for the answer to this puzzle.

Are we safe?

Who is responsible for our safety?

Can we be safe in a world full of danger? Do we have our shelter? Do we cherish it?

Being a Cancer, my little shelter has enough food in it for at least three wars and maybe one nuclear bombing.

Giuliani yards away, sees parallels to 9/11

July 8, 2005

WASHINGTON -- Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, who was yards away from one of the deadly explosions that struck London on Thursday, said the attacks were an eerie reminder of Sept. 11.

Giuliani said he was in a hotel near Liverpool Street Station when a bomb exploded on a train in a tunnel nearby.

''It was very strange being here today and being a block or half a block away when the bomb went off,'' Giuliani said. ''We were in a hotel having breakfast when it happened and we were told originally that it was either an accident or a device, and then obviously when the second attack happened, we knew,'' he said. He noted the time of day was almost identical to the 2001 attacks, beginning about 10 minutes before 9 a.m. and ending before 10 a.m. AP

Novak: Sources say Rehnquist is next

Maybe this is useful only as a reminder that Judith Miller is in jail while Robert Novak continues to walk the earth as a free man. Maybe it's something more. But make of it what you will, Novak writes in his Chicago Sun-Times column today that Supreme Court sources -- anonymous ones, of course -- are saying that "ailing Chief Justice William Rehnquist" will announce his retirement "before the week is over."

[15:06 EDT, July 7, 2005]

What did the FBI know?

Newsweek's Michael Isikoff has taken his share of abuse lately for Newsweek's not-true but-true reporting on the desecration of the Koran at Guantanamo Bay, so he ought to get some credit for this: Back in November, Isikoff and Mark Hosenball wrote a piece for Newsweek in which they said that U.S. law enforcement officials were extremely concerned about "evidence regarding possible active Al Qaeda plots to attack targets in Britain."

How worried were law enforcement types? This worried: "According to a U.S. government official," Isikoff and Hosenball wrote, "fears of terror attacks have prompted FBI agents based in the U.S. Embassy in London to avoid traveling on London's popular underground railway (or tube) system, which is used daily by millions of commuters. While embassy-based officers of the U.S. Secret Service, Immigration and Customs bureaus and the CIA still are believed to use the underground to go about their business, FBI agents have been known to turn up late to cross-town meetings because they insist on using taxis in London's traffic-choked business center."

Stopped a jovial group of tourists on my block last night to say hi. Then they invited me to their 'ministry' shindig. Just love (sarcasm on) the hipster printed postcard they used to lure in the youngsters. At 50 I have the young look so they thought I'd be intrigued. Told them in a humorous way that I was a very unlikely candidate being jewitch, hindjew and a jewbuddhi. That I had a female guru. When asked if I believed in Jaysus I told them I came from a family where Jaysus held no historical value let alone a spiritual one. But came to believe he was realized being on earth and that there were many masters like him that existed. One dude said 'I should ...something' . Told him I do not need to should anything. Those who say should 'should' all over themselves (got that from Alanon).
That men/women, god/goddess were equal inside and outside and that's what I believe and stop with their division through religious prosletyzing. After I made them silent the lady asked if she could pray for me. Said sure, prayer is great, and I'll extend blessings back. Then they said thanks for being friendly.

The scary story is the 15 yr old alone on the subway car at 9pm with his 'Promise Keepers' t-shirt preaching the gospel like an insane asylum patient who got lose. An omen of things to come...the next generation of Dittohead? Promise Keepers shirts in lieu of Brown ones?

Needed to get to CT for a library workshop and took the subway to Grand Central. Plenty of police with bomb sniffing dogs. They were mostly posing for people's cameras...so NYC.

jm, can you please expound on your comment of 7/8 8:36am re the 28/29 degree of Cancer. Your comment is intriguing with no follow through of 'why'.

The Real Target?
New intelligence suggests that Al Qaeda was planning to attack London, not U.S. financial centers, in the run-up to the presidential election. A Kerry adviser blames politics for the timing of the government's summer alert

snip...

The indications that plotters linked to a big election-season terror alert actually were actively planning to attack Britain rather than the United States is at least the second revelation which seems to partly undermine administration assertions that the U.S. homeland faced a heightened risk of attack during the presidential campaign.

Shortly before the election, administration officials quietly acknowledged that at least one informant who last winter had provided lurid intelligence about a possible pre-election attack in the U.S. had apparently fabricated his allegations. Yet given the importance that waging the war on terror had assumed during the presidential campaign, administration officials apparently were reluctant to announce a lowering of the Orange-alert threat until after the election. "They would have been a laughing stock if they lowered it before the election," says Beers. Still, many U.S. officials think the threat of possible Al Qaeda attacks remains relatively high—at least until after George W. Bush's second Inauguration in January.

GOP Cranks up Fear-Mongering; Dems Cower

You knew it was coming, didn't you? That's right - within 24 hours, the right-wing spin machine is up and working to transform the tragic London bombing into a way to attack progressives as weak on terrorism. Sadly, it is a tactic that continues to emasculate many Democrats, who still can't seem to find the guts to stand up to this nonsense.

Exhibit A is this morning's Wall Street Journal opinion page - the place that essentially re-prints talking points from the Republican National Committee. There James Taranto says that "certain people don't remember" that "an attack on a much worse scale happened in the U.S. less than four years ago." Really, James? Who are those people? Are you speaking of people who have become senile in that time?

No, Taranto says it is people like Vermont's Independent Congressman Bernie Sanders (I) who passed bipartisan legislation reforming the Patriot Act. Taranto, of course has no proof that the provisions being reformed under Sanders' bipartisan legislation would have had any preventive value in the recent attacks, or in future attacks. Nor does he even make the case that the specific reforms would weaken national security. But to a hack like Taranto, proof or facts are not important - what's important is once again impugning the patriotism and "strength" of progressives.

You know who’s birthday it is today? President Bush. Happy Birthday to President Bush. He’s 59 today. If you haven’t gotten him a birthday gift yet, I know he’s still looking for an exit strategy for Iraq.

Hey Kev. What does a bicycle have in common with the war win Iraq? Apparently President Bush doesn’t know how to stop either one of them.

Do you know about this? Today in Scotland, President Bush was riding his bicycle when he collided with a police officer. This happened just a couple of hours ago. President Bush was riding his bicycle when he and fell off. Luckily he was not injured. The ironic thing was Bush could have avoided the collision, but you know Bush, he refuses to go left.

On his bicycle he hit a police officer. Personally, I blame the police officer. He should have heard Bush coming with all those baseball cards in his spokes.

I know many of you are DU readers and participants. I've been offline a lot and just heard Andy Stephenson passed over. He was very active in voter verification and the DUers supported him during every step of his illness (I think it was pancreatic cancer but am not sure) and his surgery at Johns Hopkins, establishing a fund, making sure to meet him in person to cheer him up. It's a really remarkable show of love & unity that was brought together by the internet and a love & concern we all have in common for this country & the world. But Andy had to be a really unique, special, remarkable, extraordinary person (I heard he was humble & selfless, too) to have inspired all of this unity in his behalf. I am very sad and touched by his life & passing.

Bhakti,

I'm tying it all together. I've experienced Saturn as trials and concrete applicable lessons. He is a great teacher and guide, and of course, I trust him. When he leaves a sign it is a good time to reflect on that lesson learned. I just had one of those awe inspiring moments as an issue just got magically resolved concerning my home. Very big.

I'm putting this together with Nancy's breakdown. The equinox chart had the Moon at 29 degrees Cancer and Mars at 29 Cap. The London attack had Saturn at 28, Moon at 24 Cancer. Also the two full Capricorn Moons and the recent new Moon in Cancer.
All of this points to a huge specific lesson and it is the end. This 28 to 29 exit. The bombing is significant. For three years now we've heard nothing but terror, safety, and security. I know Saturn in Cancer has wanted us to establish this. So that's why I mentioned looking at our personal lives and deciding what protects us from danger and exactly how we shelter ourselves in the raging storm. Then we can do it. Get through the next phase with our sanctuary intact. A place in ourselves where we can rest, heal, nurture ourselves and prepare for the next experience. Animals do this for survival. Withdraw and heal. It's good technique.

Bhakti, I agree absolutely, totally with your defiance of victimization. We can't do anything about these outer events. People have always had to dodge the bombs falling in life. They will continue. Justice will come to these people but only after we've learned the lessons. If we believe that we deserve and will get protection as the dangers persist, them we will. When these masters of violence leave, more will come so it doesn't do any good to put too much excess effort into removing them. That will happen automatically. The corporations will also persist, but corruption will be rooted out when Pluto transits Capricorn. The best thing we can do is learn how to maneuver within it. Within the construct of this massive thing called life. And to try and pinpoint the real source of fear within each of us.

We make ourselves sick watching Bush's every move, watching his poll numbers, and waiting for the next bomb to fall. Hinging our emotional state on what they are doing. If we sacrifice our health and joy, our kindness, our ability to love, our moments of happiness, our personal freedom, and our confidence in life, then they have really won.

I think this is the greatest lesson. To know that we are the captains of our own ships and we can navigate them ourselves.

So as Saturn leaves Cancer, I think we can rest assured that safety is real and it can be ours no matter what they all do.

And by the way, I see the symbolism in Bush on his bike hitting a policeman. The figure of authority. And he was stopped. I think with Saturn where it is, there is a moment of reckoning occurring.

Bill Moyer’s "The Secret Government"
aired on PBS in 1987 and is as good as anything on the tape. Bill Moyers is one of the most recognizable and celebrated journalists whose approach to investigative journalism is highly respected. Known for his award winning PBS documentaries, in this segment he interviews several different people involved with the CIA and other government agencies who speak about various U.S. foreign policy covert and overt operations that took place during the Cold War era. His documentary gives quite an overview of what has actually happened in the last 50 years regarding the founding of the National Security Agency and the CIA. (22:04)

Down memory lane...: Bush hires Jim Sharp, outside lawyer, in connection with Plame.

From an article by John Dean at Findlaw:

Recently, the White House acknowledged that President Bush is talking with, and considering hiring, a non-government attorney, James E. Sharp. Sharp is being consulted, and may be retained, regarding the current grand jury investigation of the leak revealing the identity of Valerie Plame as a CIA covert operative.... Readers may wonder, why is Bush going to an outside counsel, when numerous government attorneys are available to him - for instance, in the White House Counsel's Office? The answer is that the President has likely been told it would be risky to talk to his White House lawyers, particularly if he knows more than he claims publicly.

And from Raw Story:

Sharp long has cloaked himself in secrecy, even taking the unusual move of paying to have his address and telephone number removed from the major Martindale legal directory. He was an assistant district attorney before he came to Washington and has a history of taking on cases with political implications. Sharp’s highest profile client was Maj. Gen. Richard V. Secord, a major figure in the Iran-Contra scandal who helped Lt. Col. Oliver North accumulate untaxed wealth in overseas accounts.

I watched Bush and Blair yesterday on the tube. I couldnt keep watching. Ive become more and more sensitive to vibrations coming off people and the impression I got was of some kind of blocky fragmented energy on top of them like they were actually a jigsaw puzzle made of large fuzzy pieces moving around each other trying very hard to fit together but they cant. It was really strange. Then I had an impression of an old hippy guy with an American flag bandana on his head and there was an old black man with him too. They told me that the music would save the country partially again. That the tale would be told by the musicians. They said something more about the need to tell the truth. And that some would tell the truth of what was going on in time, that that the muscians and the truth tellers would work together and the system would eventually be brought down. They handed me a folded American flag and made me promise that I would honor it, and they said that it wasn't that I hated what the country had become, but that I loved the real America and that my only fear was the love and what it required. We fear what loves demands of us, we fear giving unconditional love to others and to All. Our only real fear is being who we really are, because being who we really would require us to look at our crap in the mirror. Bush is very afraid. I looked at Bush again in my mind's eye before I had this dream/vision. What I got off him horrified me. I got the impression of swasticas surrounding him, and an evil like Ive never felt before in my life. It was astounding. I felt like he is so evil, so utterly evil that I couldn't even comprehend it. It was evil that I couldn't deal with fully yet. Alot people think he is just stupid, but no hes evil, maybe as evil as Hitler. He doesnt want to face what love would demand of him. He would lose his power, and it would be over. He would have to resign and give himself over to the World Court to be tried as a war criminal along with his whole entourage. Unfortunetly, I doubt that would end the darkness of humanity, as it is in each of us to destroy our own personal darkness. That is probably the only thing that could save him now, if he did that. I wish it were possible for him to see it, but he didnt see when the war began, I doubt he will look now. Or maybe its my doubt that keeps him from seeing it, maybe its all our doubt. Do we doubt him or do we doubt our power to change the very nature of the matrix just by faith and hope, triumph and enthusiasm. I would ask it of others to see maybe hope and enthusiasm, so we can have faith and truimph. I want to destroy the big lie very much, the lie that we dont have the power to love ourselves enough to save this world. I dont believe that, I know that we can. I believe its only a matter of time before the lie breaks down. What is the big lie? That the problem lies outside of our hearts and souls. It is a spiritual problem decided upon by what we believe inside, it is to face the darkness of what has been created by our fear of giving unconditional love. The only way to love that darkness is to destroy it, within us, not without. No more war outside us, how much longer before we realize? I dont have that answer, all I can say is when we decide to own the war and realize it is an internal war against our fear, our fear of unconditional love and what it demands, then and only then will it begin. Thank you for letting me say my peace. I love you all, though I have never met you and hope that enthusiastic triumph comes and our nation and our world are free at last sooner rather than later. I know all is as it should be though, so in time, when it is time. I have faith that each will do his or her part when it is time. Good luck, and Goddess and God bless.

There is only one thing I disagree with, Chris. That we have to destroy our own personal darkness. I don't think we can. I think we could learn to pass through it without lingering and clinging. Let it come and go. And forgive ourselves.

very interesting comment by someone else at DU regarding the bombings:

Russell Square station is the deepest subway tunnell in London and the Piccaddilly line tunnel among the oldest and least safe. The irony is that this is almost a copycat bombing of a 1974 IRA-atrributed multi attack when 3 underground trains were bombed at the same sations: Kings Cross/Russell Sq, Aldgate and Edgware Road.

THAT atrocity was eventually found to have been the work of Stasi-contollled Soviet illegal immigrants in London working for bent UK spooks who were on the political payroll to attribute ALL UK mainland bombings to the Irish.

Last night I went through the songs to select which ones I want in my act. Saturn in Leo is here, and I want my stage act to be in tip top shape.

Singing comes from the root chakra and is the source of keening in death, laughter, moans of pain, and sounds of ecstasy. It travels up and I think it comes back down and expresses through the throat with the primitive, visceral, emotional, and spiritual all together. It is one of the most healing things in life. The cosmic mother's lullaby. And we need it.
saturn in Cancer has reminded me of my ability, and Saturn in Leo will certainly remind me of my responsibility to express it to the audience. There's a lot coming.

I bet your experience in Trader Joe's is a portent. Very encouraging.
I think there will be singing and dancing to come. A Leo passion.

Would it be possible for one of you fine astrologers to do an interpretation on the National Security Act of 1947? (7/26/47)
It seems that that was the kicking off point for the current industrial/military and govt covert ops operatus. It must have been signed a bit before 12:30pm. This is from Truman's diary. For those into symbolism, his mother died not long after the bill was signed. How wierd is that!

My sister, Mary Jane, called & said that mamma is sinking swiftly. Dr. Greene was at home in Grandview and said she'd not last long. Call was at 9 A.M. Washington time. I ordered plane set up at 12:30. Began getting things in order.
Congress quitting tonight.
Unification bill passed. Asked that it be sent up so I could appoint Defence [sic] Secretary. Printing office closed. Finally recieved [sic] bill at air port. Signed it and appointed Forestal [sic]. Phony 'Al-Qaeda' Responsibility Claim a Proven Hoax

Prison Planet | July 8 2005

With regard to the so-called claim of responsibility for the London bombings from an unknown Al-Qaeda group which the British government is treating as 'serious,' MSNBC reported,

MSNBC TV translator Jacob Keryakes, who said that a copy of the message was later posted on a secular Web site, noted that the claim of responsibility contained an error in one of the Quranic verses it cited. That suggests that the claim may be phony, he said.

"This is not something al-Qaida would do," he said.

Furthermore, the website posting doesn't even claim personal responsibility, it simply references "the heroic mujahedeen" in the third person. The posting praises the attack, it doesn't even take responsibility for it.

These facts didn't stop countless newspapers and Neo-Con websites automatically assuming Al-Qaeda (or Al-CIAda) was behind the attack.

"We will begin withdrawing 300 men in the month of September," Berlusconi said at the G-8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland. But he added the decision would depend on security conditions on the ground and could change [...]

Believing Al'Quida is responsible and having the press scream that they were responsible does not make it any less likely that it was CIA. It could well be that the neo cons are just telling the truth in full awareness of who is perpetrating the acts. These are the guys who give us peace bombs after all....

Judith Miller ---

Nine years into her tenure at the New York Times, she participated in John Poindexter's disinformation campaign against Libya for the Reagan administration. As Bob Woodward later revealed in the Washington Post, Miller planted Poindexter's propaganda in her own writings: claiming that el-Khadaffi was being betrayed from within his own country, that he had sunk into depression, and had turned to drugs. Miller went on to claim Khadaffi had tried to have sex with her, but lost interest when she claimed Jewish heritage.

Khadaffi, you'll remember, was the 80's Saddam Hussein (back when Saddam Hussein was still cool). Muammar was Reagan's "Mad Dog of the Middle East," which is kinda weird when you consider that Libya is in North Africa. As you'll see at the bottom of this article, there was no event on earth that Republicans would not attach to his name for the sake of justifying what they wanted to do in the region anyway. He was our blame-sink at that time. Other Muslims have since taken his place. It's all still the same game, and Judith has been playing it since the days of skinny ties and perms.

And so now, with the First Amendment drama playing out, a quick review of the material that's been building up on this woman for the last two years on the blogsphere reveals a much longer but very consistent career. Judith Miller has been and probably still is an informal asset not of our government but of an American political faction. From North Africa to the Mesopotamian, she has provided copy to support imperial adventures. Perhaps she thinks her powerful patrons will protect her, perhaps she knows too much, or perhaps she's just too old to start over and simply needs to protect her accustomed sources. Her access to them is what's made an otherwise utterly undistinguished career. If it weren't for her usefulness as a propaganda outlet, over three decades, she'd have no content at all.

Time of Inconvenience

We're living in a time of inconvenience
Compassion fails me with this meanness in the air
Our city streets are filled with violence
So we close our doors to the city
And pretend that it's not there
Here I go again
Back out on these mean streets
The evil seems to cling to the soles of my feet
Cuz' I'm living in a time of inconvenience
At an inconvenient time

We're living in the age of communication
Where the only voices heard have money in their hands
Where greed has become a sophistication
And if you ain't got money
You ain't got nothin' in this land
An' here I am one lonely woman
On these mean streets
Where the right to life man has become my enemy
Cuz' I'm living in his time of inconvenience
At an inconvenient time

Bridge:
I've turned my cheek
As my history fades
While the clock ticks away
Any progress we've made
I never thought
I'd be ashamed to be human
Afraid to say
My time has seen it's day
Cuz' I'm living in a time of inconvenience
Living in a time of inconvenience
Living in a time of inconvenience
It's an inconvenient time

This is the time of greed and power
Where everyone needs to have someone to shove around
Our children come to us for answers
Listening for freedom but they don't know the sound
And there they are, our children
Dumped out in these mean streets
The evil sweeps them up
And brings them to their knees
Cuz' they're living in our time of inconvenience
They're living in the age of communication
This is the time of greed and power
This is the time that I wish was not mine
Cuz' it's an inconvenient time

West turns blind eye as police put Saddam's torturers back to work

IRAQI security forces, set up by American and British troops, torture detainees by pulling out their fingernails, burning them with hot irons or giving them electric shocks, Iraqi officials say. Cases have also been recorded of bound prisoners being beaten to death by police.

Passing, passing... Kiwijeanie, my depressed dad shot hisself dead in the early morn day before yesterday. His prostate cancer had returned & he had been diagnosed with early Parkinson's. Dad wasn't about to go thru THAT... being helpless n' all. He spent his life being disgusted with people who "got sick"... some kind of lacking on their part. We were not close, but I was able to experience a compassion for his pain & a forgiveness over... well, wishing things cld have been otherwise. Compassion was far better than what I usually felt about him.

My bro has had pluto scrubbing back/forth over his sun/jupiter conj in Sagg, 5th hse, & my Sagg dad (moon in aquarius) had uranus exactly sq his sun. My concern was for my darlin' mom-by-marriage... she was devastated. (sigh) My usually very lucky bro also lost his Florida home in the last batch of hurricanes, was getting ready to sell that property, & now his boat marina/shops/etc are greatly at risk from this present crop of hurricanes. He can't even get to his dad's memorial service, & they were close.

Oh My God.

Every death is unique and there is no mistake. Uranus square Sun. All about liberation. And shock for all, no doubt. He did what he had to do. He's off the hook. Free. And it was fast.

Wow.

Posted by: jm on July 9, 2005 07:26 AM

Yep, jm... he passed quickly. However, my virgo mom (moon in taurus), who passed--suddenly--about ten years ago, perhaps was waiting for him with a few rolling pins. Their suns squared & their moons squared. ;O)

Joanna, my late night compatriot.

I am always awestruck in the face of Death.
My father died when I had Uranus EXACTLY opposite my Saturn. I loved him and he loved me. I was astounded by his courage in facing his death, and loved him all the more.
For me, although I still cry when I think of him, it was the greatest Uranian liberation of my life. Of course, I will always be sad. I will always miss him.
I don't argue with death.

Oh, Joanna, Oh oh oh...

The rolling pins. You are adorable.

Yep, again, jm... all these arrogant "Fly Boyz"... haids off in the ethers thinkin' that whatever they make up in their minds is real n' true are ALL due for a shock when the fate of death comes knockin'. Nobody escapes THAT transition... nobody.

Posted by: JoannaOregon on July 9, 2005 07:47 AM

Thank you for the kind welcome, dear jm... to tell the truth... I've been experiencing a great feeling of freedom. Quite exhilarating actually. We ARE members of the Orphan Club, ain't we. ;O)

Following my theme above, in looking up about the 1st Sec of Defense, found this:
James Vincent Forrestal (February 15, 1892–May 22, 1949) was a Secretary of the Navy and the first United States Secretary of Defense (1947–1949). He suddenly resigned the Defense position, took refuge in a mental hospital, and shortly thereafter allegedly committed suicide by throwing himself from the hospital window.

Makes you wonder what he knew, or who or what caused him to "flip out."

"The time of revenge has come"
Blowback from Bush and Blair's incompetently pursued war on terror has hit London. When will the U.S. figure out how to fight smart?

- - - - - - - - - - - -
By Juan Cole

July 8, 2005

~snip~

"...From the point of view of a serious counterinsurgency campaign against al-Qaida, Bush has made exactly the wrong decisions all along the line. He decided to "unleash" Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon rather than pressing for Israeli-Palestinian peace and an end to Israeli occupation of the territories it captured in 1967. Rather than extinguishing this most incendiary issue for Arabs and Muslims, he poured gasoline on it. His strategy in response to Sept. 11 was to fight the Afghanistan War on the cheap. By failing to commit American ground troops in Tora Bora, he allowed bin Laden and al-Zawahiri to escape. He reneged on promises to rebuild Afghanistan and prevent the reemergence of the Taliban and al-Qaida there, thus prolonging the U.S. and NATO military presence indefinitely. He then diverted most American military and reconstruction resources into an illegal war on Iraq. That war may have been doomed from the beginning, but Bush's refusal to line up international support, and his administration's criminal lack of planning for the postwar period, made failure inevitable."

Nobody Attacks Civilization

by Charley Reese

British Prime Minister Tony Blair and President George W. Bush went into their standard routine after the London bombings. This was an attack against civilization and all civilized nations, they said.

That's bosh and hokum, and it does a disservice to the people. The first step always in solving any problem is to define the problem correctly. There are no terrorists anywhere in the world whose goal is the destruction of civilization, Western or otherwise.

The terrorist attacks against the U.S., Great Britain and Spain are motivated exclusively by Western policies toward the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the presence of Western military forces in Islamic countries. Al-Qaeda, the ideological source of these attacks, has always been crystal-clear and specific about its reasons for declaring war against the United States.

So --- which country is America's biggest supplier of oil? Saudi Arabia? Venuzuela? no...
according to Bloomberg, it's CANADA...

and the last four/five years relations with our neighbor to the North have deteriorated, esp. since our invasion of Iraq, in which Canada refused to participate.

In whose interests do we rush to the Middle East? Americans who are now paying more and more at the pump... or the oil barons who reside in the White House? Who form cartels like the Carlyle group? Whose house is (my) Saud House?

Canada's unemployment is almost zilch... jobs are growing... and hey, they've got oil and brains! But the Neocons snub Canadians. Guess they've other fish to fry.

How 'bout you? what are you paying at the pump? Well here in the red state of South Carolina, the price just jumped from $2.02/reg to $2.22 a gal for regular... that after crude fell a couple of dollars just ten or so days ago... I've never seen a jump like that... I've surveyed the town and that's the going rate. Pretty hefty jump in a couple of days. hmmmmmmmmm (as Pat C. would say)

Check out Bloomberg and Canada...

Funny about your post, last night, i seriously considered writing to everyone on the board, asking this question: Why do you believe we entered into a war with Iraq?

In the days prior to the war i sat with others a map of the middle east spread out between us and we wondered aloud what is the real reason.

We know THEY knew Iraq wasn't respnsible for 9/11, We know THEY had control of Saddam and so the idea that Saddam was going to move his money into euros and upset our dollar wasn't the reason.
We know that THEY have strong is not absolute control over the oil fields.
So why did US have to go to Iraq?

Afghanistan was an easier one to answer to protect the building of the oil pipeline carrying oil to the orient. (you'll note that the poppy crop is excellent, the taliban is still in control and women are still abused and the pipeline is carrying oil -business as usual)

So here is what we came up with.
The Koran and Islamic law (I am not in any way an authority on the Koran or Islam) prohibits the killing of other Muslims.
For many years young Saudi men have not worked they live comfortably off the oil profits. These young men joined funadmentalist groups and by many accounts threatend the Saudi dynasty.
In a nutshell FDR made a pact with Saudis that we would defend them in exchange for oil. His intent was against outside attack.
So here we sit the Saudi royalty under threat from islamic fundamentalism. The royals share close ties to the Bush family in both oil and banking (remember BCCI)...who ya gonna call?
Then it was just finding a way to sell it to the american public.

Or that's what we finally came up with in very simplistic terms we are fighting a war for the Saudi's.

Posted by: Jill G on July 9, 2005 05:55 PM

tseka, interesting post...sending it to some friends. Never doubted AT ALL that this was the underlying cause....besides the oil.

Am not home a lot now...my ex is in town, we are going on day trips with my daughter, son in law, other family....heard some interesting stuff up at Lake Berryessa in CA ..... who owns the resort up there but the owner of CLEAR CHANNEL....his home (vaca) is there, and he helicopters in from his real home in Lake Tahoe area. Now, suddenly, the park service is looking at the fact that these public park lands aren't 'paying for themselves' and they are going to pull all the permits in Sept for the businesses at the lakes and shut down the WHOLE thing....no more boating, skiing, etc. First they said the lake is polluted, and the resort had the water tested and it is fine. This is the same thing they are saying about Yosemite....well, when was it ever said that the park service had to be a money making proposition? I thought the parks were for the public, and that it was a way to preserve the land as it used to be....and what does this guy from Clear Channel have to do with this shut down....does he want this to be his own private playground thru somekind of gov't 'grandfathering'...? My son-in-law has been spending every summer there since he was 7....now suddenly, people can't use the public facilities? hmmmmmmm...how extensive is this? You guys got any ideas? Is this happening all over the country?

Sorry to go off topic....one other thing, one of the friends of the family has a son who was in London at the time of the bombing and we noticed she was on her cell phone all the time, not knowing of the circumstances. She hadn't heard from him and didn't know if he was alive or dead. But I think from her demeanor that she had finally contacted him....didn't know anything about it until we were driving back last night....

Posted by: judi gemini on July 9, 2005 06:31 PM

Joanna.....words cannot really cover the event of death, can it? but liberation is DEFINITELY one of the words. Even when one loves someone desperatly, it is still liberation. It may not compute, but it is real....peace..........

Posted by: judi gemini on July 9, 2005 06:45 PM

Judi,
Yes, unfortunately this is happening all over the country.

Several years ago now i, with two others started a lobby group and became active in GMP (general management plan) of our local national park, my back yard. We stopped stupidity with the help of the NRDC and a lot of dedicated hard slogging. Only to have the park service come back three years later with other work arounds. Stopped those, then they finally were successful in mostly getting what they wanted by implementing small changes legilatively that allowed them to change rules. The parks both in the national forest service and national park service have been actively privatized since Reagan/Bush. It's happening in California state forests too. Double and triple taxation.
Now they are selling off the assets which they say they can't afford to maintain. Old lodges etc.
All of our public trusts are going....

I was in the middle of a post when my son staggered down the stairs, wild eyed, wretching, trying to breath! Scary!!!!
I erased my post and called my friends husband in from the car. He has taught EMT and ridden on the ambulance for years. We called the ER, who told us to call the Cancer center, and the Dr. on call there was rude sarcastic, etc. malebot Repug boyz!
Bottom line my son had smoked a cigarette, last night while wearing a nicotine patch! I got hell from the Dr. ( & a big lecture on the evils of tabbacco; where was he 45 yrs ago, when I started to smoke, 35 years ago when my son started to smoke? hell from my son........... Dr, disbelieved when I said my son was mentally like a 3 year old with alzheimers! can't keep track of his life! I've been trying to do it without anyone letting me in on the schedule! WHat do they expect after they pump him full of chemicals????????
Hey! All I've been trying to do is clean the house, cook healthy meals, make him comfortable! It's blown now!!!!!!!!!!!!It's not nice to fool Mother Nature! Cross me and I'll sound like a tea kettle someone forgot to take off the burner! Fool me once, fool me twice keep on fooling me ..................Duh!
What I'm trying to express here is the health system is broken, they should have my son in the hospital under the watchful eye of professionals! Or they should be providing me with some kind of support or education about this kind of thing!
Also the Social Security is nickleing & diming us.........stall with a SS disability interview & save yourself $1,200 or $1,400. here and there. Like Owens of Tx the patient will die with any luck before you have to cut a check!!!!!!!! Eric was up @ 8:30 am Fri.. ready for his 10: phone interview with them. They didn't call! I got a message here at home to call them about rescheduling him. Then they tried to put it off 'till July 27th!
First thing I did when I got home from the library yesterday was call SS and be held up for 1/2 hour, instead of cooking dinner! I'm down the rabbit hole, anbd it's spinning in outer space!

Does anyone else think that the London bombings may not be the work of Islamic terrorists, but may be related to the G8 summit? I feel somehow that this bombing may have a direct link to the violent demonstrations (that we have seen in the past)against the WTO and the G8 nations, and that is why it was staged on that day. Just a hunch.

Check to see if your local hospital has a Patient Advocacy Department or Social Worker's office... most do these days... they provide living wills, give resource info to those needing hospice, guidance to those needing Medicaid, Social Security disability etc. They also know of Support Groups where you can get nurturing.

That's the first place I go when a loved one has been hospitalized... there are resources out there, these folks can direct you to them...

My step daughter was diagnosed with lung cancer years ago... she had two girls in college and one my granddaughter's age... she would not give up the cigarettes... while she was in the hospital she once walked across the street, in her gown, with an IV, to purchase a pack of cigarettes.

Take care of yourself Pat Q --- or you won't be able to give help...

In fact Markos at dKos issued a proclamation to kossacks that anything other than the official story would be 'banned' from his website! Here's the link... and here's a link to Hunter's diary prior to Kos' BULL, and here's a link to my comment to that... I will write you an email directly with some thoughts that may be valuable to Eric -homeopathically. As others have suggested take care of yourself...i'll share some thoughts with you about that as well.

In addition you need to speak with the nursing director and the hospital director about the attitude and treatment you have received. Unfortunately this is not uncommon, we see the worst kind of behavior among people who treat the most vulnerable. It doesn't have to happen today Pat and you can enlist the help of another to write out a simple brief to the point statement regarding the abuse.
This is not a path to walk alone.
Keep asking for help. Each state is different. Jo's suggestion that you start with hospital's social services is good. The american cancer society can provide names of useful agencies and often provide meals free of charge.

No matter, Pat this is a really tough go and it's gonna last for a while, the really best and only thing is to keep centered in the moment. Let your cats love you, bring in flowers, paint a bit, cook gentle nourishing foods, flood your place with your own best loving energies for your son. And we will join you in this.

'Plain Dealer': We're Holding Big Stories Because of Fear of Jail

CHICAGO Plain Dealer Editor Doug Clifton says the Cleveland daily is not reporting two major investigative stories of "profound importance" because they are based on illegally leaked documents -- and the paper fears the consequences faced now by jailed New York Times reporter Judith Miller.

Lawyers for the Newhouse Newspapers-owned PD have concluded that the newspaper would almost certainly be found culpable if the leaks were investigated by authorities.

"They've said, this is a super, super high-risk endeavor, and you would, you know, you'd lose," Clifton said in an interview Friday afternoon.

"The reporters say, 'Well, we're willing to go to jail, and I'm willing to go to jail if it gets laid on me,'" Clifton added, "but the newspaper isn't willing to go to jail. That's what the lawyers have told us. So this is a Time Inc. sort of situation."

Both Miller and Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper faced jail on contempt charges for refusing to identify confidential sources, but Time agreed to hand over Cooper's subpoenaed notes when the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the reporters' appeal. Cooper later agreed to testify to a grand jury, saying his source had given "express personal consent" to be identified.

Clifton declined to characterize the two stories, saying only they were based on material that was illegally leaked.

Clifton's revelation that the PD was holding two investigative projects was actually first published in a column he wrote June 30 about the Miller and Cooper case. While the column garnered positive reaction, he said, almost nobody picked up on the disclosure tucked into the end of the piece.

"As I write this, two stories of profound importance languish in our hands," Clifton wrote. "The public would be well served to know them, but both are based on documents leaked to us by people who would face deep trouble for having leaked them. Publishing the stories would almost certainly lead to a leak investigation and the ultimate choice: talk or go to jail. Because talking isn't an option and jail is too high a price to pay, these two stories will go untold for now. How many more are out there?"

Clifton said he wrote the column to show that "there are consequences" to the actions taken against Miller and Cooper by a federal judge and special prosecutor.

"Some people might argue that you're being chicken-shit," Clifton said. "Well, I, I can respect that," he said, his voice trailing off.

Clifton said the Miller-Cooper case has not presented any problem in its ongoing reporting of the biggest current scandal in Ohio, sometimes called "Coingate."

"So much of that we are pursuing unambiguously with public records," he said. "We've had to rely very little on anonymous sources."

The scandal, first reported by The Blade in Toledo, revolves around a rare-coin dealer who was given authority to invest $50 million in state money in rare coins and other collectibles. Gold coins valued at $300,000 that were part of that investment were lost in the mail, the Blade reported. It later came out that millions of dollars in the fund cannot be accounted for.

Israeli settlers lynch Palestinian teenager
The World Today - Friday, 8 July , 2005 12:42:00
Reporter: Mark Willacy

ELIZABETH JACKSON: It's an image which many Israelis say has convinced them to support the Government's plan to pull more than 8,000 Jewish settlers out of the Gaza Strip.

Plastered across Israeli TV screens for the past week have been pictures of settler youths, some as young as 13, stoning and then trying to lynch a teenage Palestinian in a Gaza village.

Two settlers have now been arrested for the attack. But the sickening beating has had other ramifications. Shaken by the public outcry over the attack, settler leaders have drafted a code of conduct for future protesting, of non-violence.

Middle East correspondent Mark Willacy reports from Jerusalem.

London Underground Bombing 'Exercises' Took Place at Same Time as Real Attack
Culpability cover scenario echoes 9/11 wargames

Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones/Prison Planet | July 9 2005

A consultancy agency with government and police connections was running an exercise for an unnamed company that revolved around the London Underground being bombed at the exact same times and locations as happened in real life on the morning of July 7th.

On a BBC Radio 5 interview that aired on the evening of the 7th, the host interviewed Peter Power, Managing Director of Visor Consultants, which bills itself as a 'crisis management' advice company, better known to you and I as a PR firm.

Peter Power was a former Scotland Yard official, working at one time with the Anti Terrorist Branch.

Power told the host that at the exact same time that the London bombings were taking place, his company was running a 1,000 person strong exercise which drilled the London Underground being bombed at the exact same locations, at the exact same times, as happened in real life.

The transcript is as follows.

PatC, The thing that strikes me about these journalist sources stories is that they are all being lumped in the same catagory - to print or not to print. Fear factor, we might go to jail.

But nobody in the corportate media is discussing the importance of the REASON behind the story; i.e. who will it protect and who will it benefit.
Leaking the name of Plame was both illegal and of no direct benefit to the public at large.

One the other hand, leaking the facts of a story that highlights an illegal activity, and is of huge public importance surely must be placed in a different catagory, illegal source or not. And what makes the source illegal? Someone signing a confidentiality agreement, or the outing of a foreign based illigence agent?

Maybe some in the US can begin writing letters to editors pointing out this fundamental difference. Maybe it could start some more sheep thinking rather than just being fed more pablum.

government terrorism should come as no surprise, and there's no cause for added fear. It's always happening. War is big business. The personality type of people who seize this kind of power knows no allegiance to country and they have a different view of life and people. It's been happening forever and yet it still hasn't worked. They stretched a little bit on 911... it was unusually dramatic. But now that effect is fizzling. It always does. The London affair seems to have hardly caused a ripple. Maybe subconsciously, people are getting some of it. And maybe somewhere in the chip lies a survival instinct that will prevail.
As long as it keeps failing to entrap and enslave us all, we are relatively safe. We can't stop it, as of now.

Maybe this is the best way for the time being. To spread the word and stay aware.

Hi...Tseka, will contact you later about the park thing...I am at my daughter's babysitting while the others go off to SF and the Ferry Plaza market...

Pat Q....OMG...and here is something to consider; did you contact a hospice in your town or near by? A doctor has to recommend him into it...I was in the hospice here and trained but don't know about the rules where you are. But it isn't always for terminal people...sometimes it is for people who have no one to care for them during the time of a severe illness. In this case, perhaps to keep him from smoking, as he would be in a controlled environment. I missed any post you might have posted about Eric leaving the hospital. Social Services would help there. Be thankful you are not in TX where they have done away with social services...

jm, sometimes you post things which I feel I could have written...like the previous one....so I will just say, right on about the people with no allegiances....they come from the dark side of the force for sure. Just imagine the dark creatures coming for all of them when they pass over....(remember them from "Ghost"? I remember our class in astrology talking about and wondering about them...and my teacher piped up and said ....pretty accurate depiction of those forces!

Yes, Pat C., I find that site to be reliable. the article quotes the programme aired on evening of July 7th and refers to the text of the transcript.( I've tried to search the BBC website but I can't pull up their archives. (You know I can't handle anything techie :-)

This is the website for Visor Consultants, which Peter Powers represents.

http://www.visorconsultants.com/

As for reliability: I no longer trust the NYTimes. They were cheerleaders for the invasion and there's enough info out there to support the fact that Judith Miller has been writing propaganda through this vehicle for years. The WaPo apologized for its disinformation in the runup, which doesn't make them reliable, either. The NYTimes has yet to do so. Is any media outlet reliable? I haven't found one. The AP is suspect.

Just because a site has a radical name and is outside the mainstream does not mean it is unreliable, only unfamiliar. Namaste

How 'bout we stop calling these evening programs and morning programs --- "NEWS" --- they are involved with information. Some don't even give very much, just scanty details, they never give a source, but we believe them. All during the runup to the invasion of Iraq, they paraded one expert after another giving his "opinion" --- very few facts... and most of the opinion was biased.

Yes, let's just call it information and then maybe folks will be looking at the facts, not the youthful, good looking dude with the mic... or the dudette. Just the facts, m'am - just the facts. We're smart enough to connect the dots.

I turn my TV on at 6AM and watch BBC News...
then turn it off until 11AM when I watch Democracy
Now, then off again until 5 PM or later when I
watch CBC News, Deutche Welle, and BBC at 6 PM.
I occasionally watch Oberman, PBS or World Link TV. The NYTimes is garbage except of Frank Rich,
Krugman and Maureen Dowd. The Washington Post is
fishwrap. I often read the SF Chronicle only because I lived there for 40 years. I read the
Guardian, Independent, and London Times daily,
Haaratz, once or twice a week. Daily Star from
Lebanon and Dawn from Pakistan, and the Times of
India and Sydney Morning Herald....the blogs and
column on line. Occasionally the Globe and Mail
Boston Globe and Christian Science Monitor and FT.
The rest are crap and not worth your time. When
the TV is off, which is most of the time I listen
to classical music, new age and lots of Ravi Shankar. Helps me keep my sanity. I talk to my

lordy I am being tried every day.

Outside, the freezing desert night.
This other night grows warm, kindling.
Let the landscape be covered with thorny crust.
We have a soft garden in here.
The continents blasted,
cities, towns, everything
becomes a scorched, blackened ball.

The news we hear is full of grief for that future,
but the real news inside here
is there's no news at all.

I had always hoped that the US Powers would not notice our Tar Sands and Energy and water.

Are they going to make nice with their neighbor to the North?

With the softwood lumber debacle, the Mad Cow situation and other disputes, there is a bit of resentment, here.

Actually, the protectionist attitude of the US has been very good for Canada.

After at least three ruling by the WTO against the US saying that the duties on Canadian Lumber was illegal, the US has continued to impose it(now totalling in the billions)-the Americans were to return that money if the ruling went against them-but it does not look good--They openly tried to to break the back of the Candian Lumber industry.

The result has been that the Canadian Lumber has become leaner, much more efficient, and is out performing the American Lumber barons.

The Mad Cow is the same story. The border has been kept closed--depite the logic for it. I am now hearing that the Candian Beef industry is reorganizing itself in the East and I believe the same thing is happening in Alberta. They are building plants for processing
--no more dependence on the Americans for processing--and if I'm correct doing it with consideration for safe meat and humane treatment of cattle. Actually, I hope they keep that border closed to Canadian Cattle, so we can complete that project.

If anyone here follows Kryon-he said a few years ago that noone would win any wars/conflicts anymore in what he called the New Energies.

He also stated that things would work if an inclusive attitude was taken--ie helping others while helping yourself.
But problems would arise if an exclusionary course was taken--i.e. take for yourself but denying others.

This would be on a personal or nation level.

Looks like he was right!

Looks like I'm on a roll--can't resist this one!

CANDIAN VERSION OF THE WAR OF 1812
From Will Ferguson's Canadian History

"Do you want to know the strangest thing about the war of 1812? The Americans think they won it. Really. Do you want to know what's even stranger? They're right. NOT in a military sense, of course. On the battlefield, the Americans lost. They didn't even come close to otaining their goal: the Conquest of Canada. But war is, above all, a POLITICAL tool, and what counts in the end are the long-term results, not individual heroics.

" In the treaty hammered out by Britain and the United States, the territories were returned to their original borders and the Americans were given a free rein in the West. Britain's First Nations allies had been completely shut out of the negotiations. So were the Canadians, (The Americans had refused to allow either at the table.) And so, in the end, the United States came away with its sovereignty reaffirmed.
'The United States had lost a war and won a conference'-historian Bruce Hutchison on the outcome of the War of 1812
"Once again, Britain had betrayed its First Nations allies--utterly and shamelessly. The Americans were allowed to extend their borders deep into Indian Territory (an area previously reserved by the Briish as Native lands) and they now waged a war of extermination and displacement against the First Nations while Great Britain looked the other way. By 1817, Indians were being forcibly removed from the Ohio Valley.
"The War of 1812 was the end of a era for the First Nations.....

I was surprised when reading Thomas Moore the other night because he was complaining about the same
things 200 years ago that we do now!

From his poem "Church and State"
This--this it is--and here I pray
Those sapient wits of the Reviews,
Who make us poor, dull authors say,
Not what we mean, but what they choose,
Who to our most abundant shares
Of nonsense add still more of theirs,...

From his poem "Corruption"
Boast on, while wandering through my native haunts,
I coldly listen to thy patriot vaunts;
And feel, though close our wedded countries twine,
More sorrow for my own than pride from thine
....
While Kings were poor, and all those schemes unknown
Which drain the people, to enrich the throne;
Ere yet a yielding Commons had supplied
Those chains of gold by which themselves are tied;
Then proud Prerogative, untaught to creep
With bribery's silent foot on Freedom's sleep,
Frankly avow'd his bold enslaving plan,
And claim'd a right from God to trample man!

Pincus: Wilson "discredited" in 2002 By p lukasiak

ALthough most of us have been following the Cooper revelations with regard to Karl Rove, Walter Pincus of the Washington Post has also spilled some beans. And the beans he spilled strongly suggest that the effort to discredit Wilson via his wife was not the result of Wilson's disclosing his trip in a NY Times column, but was being done in 2002 in order to discredit his reporting, and "fix the facts and intelligence" around the policy.
Here is the key quote from the Pincus piece in Niemanwatch...
On July 12, 2003, an administration official, who was talking to me confidentially about a matter involving alleged Iraqi nuclear activities, veered off the precise matter we were discussing and told me that the White House had not paid attention to former Ambassador Joseph Wilson’s CIA-sponsored February 2002 trip to Niger because it was set up as a boondoggle by his wife, an analyst with the agency working on weapons of mass destruction.
In other words, the White House was not merely aware of Wilson's trip and its findings, someone had gone to the trouble to find out how the trip had originated, and then lied about Plame' s involvement in order to discredit his findings. (Plame did not "set up" the trip, as Pincus was told, nor did she "authorize" it, as Rove told Cooper. )
(Pincus's disclosure pretty much puts to rest the speculation that Miller's conversation with Rove was where he first found out about Plame.)
Fitzgerald may be going after whoever told "the White House" that Plame was responsible for the trip --- and really going after the whole effort to "fix the facts and intelligence" in the run-up to the Iraq war. The real questions may now be
Why did someone investigate the detailed circumstances behind the Wilson trip and who did the investigation?
Who is responsible for lying about Plames involvement in order to discredit Wilson's report within the White House (and, one assumes, make it possible for Colin Powell to ignore Wilson's findings as well?)

Jill, I think we continue to learn the same lessons over and over through history, and yes, history repeats itself. Must have something to do with reincarnation/karma/dharma so that maybe one day we'll do it right. I don't think the universe cares one iota how "long" it takes, since it's all happening at once anyhow.

I have wondered since coming to this board how one might see the USA chart, if looking at an entity. I recognize that his is Mundane astrology we are doing, but seeing the collective as an entity has been a good tool for me the last couple of days in understanding why some folks have such cognitive dissonance. This article describes us as a collective... the findings are illuminating... here's the link again

Jo, I sent that starpath article to my Mom who is 81 last year, I printed it out so the package was huge. She lives in Atlanta, and she said she read it and pitched it in the trash, concerned for her safety if anyone saw what she read. At the time, I told her that if she saw the need to trash it, maybe she should believe what she was reading. She said NO, she didn't believe a word, but she was worried someone would find out. So ironic. She told me at the time, never never send her anything like that. But recently she asked me what I might "know" and what's out there to read. Geeeez.

Researchers overwhelmed by Newton find

http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=588&art_id=qw1120226220683B252

London - A collection of notes by the 17th century English mathematician and physicist Sir Isaac Newton, that scientists thought had been lost forever, has been found.

The notes on alchemy were originally discovered after Newton's death in 1727 but were lost after they were sold at auction in July 1936 for Ł15.

They were found while researchers were cataloguing manuscripts at the Royal Society, Britain's academy of leading scientists.

"This is a hugely exciting find for Newton scholars and for historians of science in general," Dr John Young, of London's Imperial College Newton Project, said in a statement on Friday.

Newton's celebrated work "Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica" (or Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy) is considered one of the most important works in the history of modern science.

In it he formulates the three laws of motion and that of gravity.

Some scientists in Newton's time believed alchemy held the secret of how to transform base metals into silver or gold. Newton's notes were written in English in his own handwriting.

"It provides vital evidence about the alchemical authors Newton was reading, and the alchemical theories he was investigating in the last decades of the 17th century," Young added.

The notes will be on display at the Royal Society's annual Summer Science Exhibition in London which begins on July 4.

Researchers overwhelmed by Newton find

Laurie,

That's my point... your Mom, my Dad... Americans... who cannot wrap their minds around the fact that their government can do wrong. They "feel" (Mercury in Cancer) about the government, they don't "think" about it. I can empathize, my natal Mercury (though not Rx) is in Cancer. But my nSun is in Gemini, which loves the word, has to read, write, all the time... without that Gemini Sun, I would probably be looking through veils too... my Dad just had dinner with us... and I literally had to chew my tongue to keep from saying something as I listened to him regurgitate Faux Noos... and the propaganda they have filled his head with... he left a few mins ago and I am still trying to calm myself... unbelievable, he's so intelligent... told me it was not true that Brits had decided to withdraw part of their troops... that the NYTimes lied to me! Faux Noos addressed that, said it is just not so. Told him I got info from Brit papers, ran off a copy of article from Telegraph, and he still would not accept it... (His nMercury is in Cancer and he has Cancer rising!) I let it go...

Here's a snippet from Starpath:

"... At the BIRTH of this NATION only two planets in the sky were RETROGRADE: MERCURY & PLUTO. Both these planets were energetically configured in stressful 180degree OPPOSITION to each other; Mercury Retrograde in the 25th degree of Cancer in America's 8th house of SECRETS and Corporate Business Money, together with Pluto Retrograde in the 28th degree of Capricorn in America's 2nd house of VALUES and the wealth and prosperity of the people. Now this is the mental acuity (Mercury) of the people in STRESSFUL OPPOSITION to the collective unconscious (Pluto) of the people. This configuration tells us that we Americans must strive to become intellectually conscious (Mercury) of something which prefers to remain unconscious, hidden, and unknown (Pluto). It tells us there is a SECRET (Mercury in 8th house) concerning our personal feelings (Mercury in Cancer) which it is TABOO (Pluto) for any of us to even discuss(Mercury). What could that SECRET be ? Well, it's focused in the only two areas (houses) of the horoscope which specifically deal with VALUES and MONEY. And it takes place in the complimentary opposite zodiacal signs which deal with... BUSINESS (Capricorn) and HOME (Cancer), LAW (Capricorn) and PERSONAL PRIVACY (Cancer), the OBJECTIVE (Capricorn) and the SUBJECTIVE (Cancer). Here's a 'hint' as to what this means:

" The United States is the largest arms dealer in the world. Since 1992, the United States has exported more than $142 billion worth of weaponry to states around the world. Keep this in mind when you hear Washington politicians decry the proliferation of weapons such as air-to-ground missiles. We've exported more than two-and-a-half times as many weapons as the No. 2 and No. 3 states — the United Kingdom and Russia, respectively.

In 2001, total world arms transfer agreements were worth nearly $26.4 billion, and the United States accounted for 45.8 percent of them. The U.S. arms industry, by the way, is the second-most-heavily subsidized industry after agriculture. In 1999, the United States supplied arms or military technology to 92 percent of all the conflicts around the globe. This military largesse often goes to non-democratic countries with abominable human-rights records."

Laurie, I keep reminding myself that those who support the government are not the enemy... and that those who are the enemy would like us to spend our time trying to convince their supporters. But I think we must con't to spend our time tracking what the government does, and calling them on it.

Right now, we must keep after Karl Rove's heels, and every other issue that was on the table before 7/7

The Trouble with Normal

So DailyKos has conducted a "mass banning" of those who had been "perpetuating a series of bizarre, off-the-wall, unsupported and frankly embarassing conspiracy theories." I hope no one is terribly surprised by this development. From the darlings of alternative media, purges usually follow their contributors' binges of unproscribed spelunking into the deep politics of a mass event. If someone like Kos doesn't distance himself from inquiries that offend mainstream sensibilities he risks the loss of the honourary privileges extended to the pacified blogosphere, and where is he then? Just another former Republican who has a problem with women. And since inquiry isn't his strong suit - Kos regards the theft of the 2004 election as just another "conspiracy theory" and can write with a Bushian lack of irony that he has a "high tolerance level for material I deem appropriate" - making it a sacrificial offering to the incurious middle couldn't have been a tough call.

More than truth, such people crave respectability, which they call "credibility" because it conforms to the conventional wisdom of those whose approval they seek. This becomes the capital they believe they trade for "influence," which is nothing more than their place in punditry's pecking order.

New Explosive Rove Revelation To Come? Time to Frog-March?
by David Corn

I don't usually log on Saturday evenings. But I've received information too good not to share immediately. It was only yesterday that I was bemoaning the probability that--after a week of apparent Rove-related revelations--it might be a while before any more news emerged about the Plame/CIA leak. Yet tonight I received this as-solid-as-it-gets tip: on Sunday Newsweek is posting a story that nails Rove. The newsmagazine has obtained documentary evidence that Rove was indeed a key source for Time magazine's Matt Cooper and that Rove--prior to the publication of the Bob Novak column that first publicly disclosed Valerie Wilson/Plame as a CIA official--told Cooper that former Ambassador Joseph Wilson's wife apparently worked at the CIA and was involved in Joseph Wilson's now-controversial trip to Niger.

Siobhan,

Newsweek did publish today, see:

Lots of white noise online/blogs suggesting Fitzgerald may be looking at Espionage Act re Rove (and Miller).

---------------------

Summary...

Courtjester and TPM: Fitzgerald and CIA believe that Plame is part of an ongoing series of leaks severely damaging national security.

Lawrence O'Donnell: Judge Tatel's concurrence in Miller suggests that this is not about perjury... AND it is about a very serious crime.

Mark A. Kleiman: Judge Hogan thinks that the information [Judy Miller] was given and her potential use of it was a crime.

John Dean: Leaking classified information is a crime under the Espionage Act with no exceptions for good intentions.

Dec. 2003, MSNBC documentary evidence: Cheney's office and Hannah specifically was "a principal point of contact" with Chalabi's INC to receive and disseminate intelligence.

Feb. 2004, Richard Sale (UPI): FBI had "hard evidence" that Hannah and Libby were involved in the outing of Plame.

June 2004, USA Today reported that the FBI had begun interviews to determine who might have told Chalabi that the CIA had cracked Iranian codes - info which Chalabi passed on to Iran.

When you put all of this together, it sure feels like Espionage Act prosecutions are in the offing... Wouldn't you think?

That's interesting... what Jo posted about The USA Merc/Pluto and secrecy.

The Valerie Plame case is actually the opposite but it covers up something else. CIA agents are supposed to be undercover so revealing them is exposing a secret that should be maintained. At the same time, it uncovers the whole secretive operation around the yellow cake, and probably even more.
Saturn just passed this opposition. The seriousness of this crime can't be underestimated. And this is going on while the War on Terror hoax is being stepped up. The revelation wants out. Now appears to be the time.

Once again, I'm optimistic, although there is a seriousness and sadness in the air.

And of course I always though the truth would be revealed before Pluto leaves Sag. When Jupiter goes into Scorpio, Jupiter ruling the Sag, I expect the bottom of the pit of lies to be reached.

Posted by: jm on July 10, 2005 11:03 PM

One more thought...

There will be two, maybe three SC vacancies to be filled as Jupiter transits our USA natal Saturn in Libra. This slow and steady investigation might affect this process positively as we see the legal process in action dealing with corruption in the highest places concerning the security of oor country.

Here are some more fascinating astrological factors to look at...

Back to Jo's post, Mercury retrograde will soon be passing over Bush's Leo Ascendant, Pluto, and Mercury. He has hired a lawyer. Will he be forced to testify? Saturn coming. Humiliation.

His solar return has North Node and Mars in Aries, conjuncting the Descendant. Libra is rising with the South Node and Jupiter there, Jupiter on the 12th house side. The Aries 7th with Mars there shows the relationship in war with Blair and why he can't stop himself. I wonder if there will be a falling out between them as time goes on.

Eclipses bring high drama into life. Issues and crisis arise during the "eclipse season" that centers on the two or three eclipses that occur six months apart when Full or New Moons happen near the ecliptic plane of the solar system. The Sun, Moon and Earth line up both vertically and horizontally at an eclipse indicating that energy is more highly focused into pressure and events and people escalate to extremes. A point in the zodiac is charged by an eclipse and the subsequent passage of Mars, the instigator, over that point can release this energy

I think the Cancer IS the presidency, wv. No pun intended.

But seriously, Rove is only just the tip of the iceberg. Between Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld and the rest of the Bush Family, there is so much corruption just waiting to be uncovered and brought to light.

Look at what is going on in my state of Ohio with the Taft (Mis)Administration and the Ohio GOP. There are ties from the Noe Coin Trading scandal that run up to Taft, to Schwarzenegger in California, to Colorado and the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign, possibly even back to 2000.

How much has Cheney and his Halliburton profited from Iraq? What of Bush Sr. and Carlyle? Isn't it at least a bit unseemly of the current pResident's father to engage in profiteering as a direct result of a war that his son initiated? Doesn't seem very nice and honorable to me.

If we ever hope to reclaim our country, we have got to first take out the trash. And boy, is there ever so much to clean up!

Now what does this mean?
http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Bush_set_to_announcement_Supreme_pick_at_end_of__0710.html
Are they going to drop a few SCOTUS bombs on us and dash off to Crawford for a month?

He takes off for the month of August to retreat to his faux ranch in TX where he : 1) rides his bike, imperiling all living creatures on the place, 2) has the Secret Service cut brush for him, since he doesn't know how to use a chain saw, and load him up with an armful to show the press; and 3) amuses himself with gawd-knows what-all while KKKKarl and the others plot and plan. Mebbe, though, just mebbe, this thing about KKKKarl possibly breaking some heavy-duty laws has them so occupied that August in Crawford won't be so grand this year. Mebbe this thing about KKKKarl has them so panicked that they really can't concentrate (it is hard work) on picking and choosing the most abhorrent candidates.

Thanks Jo for the link to the Newsweek article! Do appreciate that! I know you live in a red state .. me too (Ala). Surrounded by Repubs and Fundies here but had an eye opening moment today. One of the neighbors, very nice older couple who are long-time Repubs and live and breath their southern church party line were outside today talking to me about the ususal neighborhood chit chat. They actually told me that they have changed their minds on Bush .. think now they made a mistake voting for him and that he's going to bring the country down!! I almost fell over into the petunias in a dead faint! Up until now they have defended Bush every time the subject of politics came up. I hold this up to be a very small but significant sign that there are cracks in the Repub wall down here! In spite of hurricane Dennis coming up this way I've been smiling all day since talking to them! Maybe we have reached a turning point of some kind at last?! I hope so!

Pat QOP--
I was going to post a link to an article from my tinfoil-hat "bible" site, www.rense.com, but apparently their server is down.
Anyway, check it later for the article under the headline "Nicotine oozing from every pore"(or something like that, can't remember exactly.)

The article describes an (initially) skeptic author who underwent a new procedure for nicotine detox and then didn't smoke afterwards. It was being done in London but I just wanted to make you aware of this.

JoannaO, white light and strength to you and your brother and your darlin' stepmom. Your father is 100% perfect now and freed from the hell that is the USA allopathic "healthcare system"(a misnomer, to put it mildly!!!).

(I mean, they should just call it what it is, healthprovidercare because the subjects are the least of anyone's concern!!!)

JM, you GOTTA give us a website link with some samples, we'd all love to hear you sing!!!

Namaste all......

Posted by: Garry on July 11, 2005 03:43 AM

Siobhan,

You stay dry in this storm... yes, more and more are waking up every day... because they are being impacted: a family member killed in Iraq or one being sent to Iraq; or they see their ss going or can't get the meds they need, and their children can't go to the doc and the public school system is falling apart... yes, they're waking up...

Shy, let's hope they have to spend all of August, September October and whatever trying to figure a way out of this mess... it goes beyone Rove, of course... just hope the media has a little bit of spine left and the bloggers keep yapping at their heels, with us not far behind...

patience, patience...

here's another good one for you.

Dick Cheney's Moon is getting a square from Pluto.
At the same time Satutn is going into his 12th house(hospitals, prisons), and opposing his Sun in the 6th(health).

Will it be hospital time for Dick? It's a little too soon for prison.

Posted by: jm on July 11, 2005 04:02 AM

Garry, keep the pressure on me! My Saturn return in the 5th house is coming right up and I've got to to get down to business and set up a website. What a great suggestion. I wasn't ready until now, but I was in a bar tonight and they were playing one of my favorite songs by Kool and the Gang..."Celebration". I'm getting in the mood. Thanks for the enthusiasm!

The photos showed [rezie-rot] peering behind curtains & looking under furniture for the missing weapons. Mr [rot] offered mock captions for the photos, saying, "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere" & "Nope, no weapons over there ... maybe under here?"

If there's something funny about Mr [rezaholic]'s misbegotten war, I've yet to see it.
