In case you missed this on the last thread:

Sally says she has Libra on the ASC and Sag on
the cusp of the third house...she can get email
about every hour and a half but cannot connect to
AW...

Donations would be nice and much appreciated, Positive Fusion is switching to a new type of system (because of the increased issues with hackers on everyone's site.) Just about all providers are doing so, it's become quite a problem for everyone with a blog.

My son returns tonight so that's helpful.
He has done all of what Pallas suggested and I really appreciate her suggestions. I have to get a new hard drive and everything has to be taken off and re built. I am extremely fortunate to have someone who can fix it and it would have been done by now, but he is just out of town, he had to go to a funeral.
I so appreciate everyone's concern and kind words, makes me feel like I have the flu and people are bringing chicken soup.

She is able to communicate through her laptop, so
if you write her at mcdonaldsa@qwest.net
she can
send you her address for donations. She sends her
love to all.

and thanks again wv, for posting"The Art of Not Being Offended". It reminds me of NDWalsh's story of the two little stars? or something like that. I imagine you've all read it; it helped me alot at a time when I really needed it (as did this).

Most important anti-hacking stuff -:

VERY IMPORTANT there's one other thing...to check if you have ports open that can be hacked,

go to www.grc.com (gibson research)

he has free tests which take seconds but will tell you if your ports are open and can be entered by hackers...then he has something you run that will close them.

WOW - a hard drive. That's expensive. And to rebuild from scratch. I think I'd sit down and cry.

I also had McAfee and Lavaware but found they screwed up my computer so I gave them up..

And even Norton which is supposed to be so wonderful wasn't...it let viruses in.

And you all know what GhostSurf did to my computer...
three weeks of work to get it up again, and lost most of my hundreds if not thousand horoscopes in
Solfire. Still looking for a way to get them back.

To do Bill Clinton's chart I had to start from scratch...all the political stuff gone. {: (pouting)

So those freebies have done more than NOrton and McAfee which I paid for. Especially Sygate free personal firewall. I recommend it to all.

Before Sally got disconnected she told me Morgana is next up writing a column , and then I am writing a similar column to Morgana's -

Any clue on how we will get it up on AW?

Sudhir Chadda
Mar. 12, 2005

The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is on the move in Atlantic Ocean and is possibly headed towards the Mediterranean Sea. The convergence of three carrier groups in the corridor of the Middle East will send very strong message to the Syrians and Iranians. There are indications that soon US is moving two more aircraft carrier battle groups to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. This will spell a formidable strike force for Iran and Syria who are in defiance on issues of Lebanon and Nuclear weapons development.

Outbound from Singapore, the USS Carl Vinson is currently crossing the Indian Ocean headed towards Middle-East. This will be the first time since February 2004 that US will have three major carrier groups stationed on and around Middle East.

Each of these carrier groups carry nearly 85 aircrafts and is capable of deliver precision-guided munitions. In addition there are anti-submarine aircrafts, airborne-early-warning and rotary-wing aircrafts. Because in the air refueling capabilities these aircrafts can operate from a long distance. The carrier groups are independent and can operate indefinitely. link:http://www.libertyforum.org/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=news_international&Number=293445271#Post293445271

WV,
Thanks for the link "The Art of Not Being Offended" --- I'm okay with offenses. And I clearly understand that we are all the sum total of our experiences. But while attitudes and opinions are not intended to be internalized by the 'other'... my thinking it is okay to blow your head off with a shotgun will certainly impact you personally. So will the attitude that an illegal unnecessary war is good impact the people one is warring against. Now we have a precedent and we can like Johnny Appleseed spread our spent uranium and cluster bombs all over the Middle East.

What I don't deal well with is the attitude that it's okay to kill women and children and innocent males, because they're of color, or non Christian or because IT'S FRIGGING TUESDAY. That enrages me. And no amount of psychodynamics is going to keep the rage away. And I am thankful that I am enraged. It seems to me that this country has gone BONKERS, NUTS --- flatout raving mad... at least a huge majority of them. Like monkeys, they "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" --- they need a mirror! Not a funhouse one, all distorted, like they one they have.

Enough has happened under this fascist regime to incite 100 revolutions and not a single thing has happened to impede their agenda. I can only conclude that most like what they have.

I'll take my rage any day over their 'everything is beautiful' denial.

Molly Ivins

AUSTIN, Texas -- I must confess, I have sadly underestimated the Bush administration's sense of humor. Appointing John Bolton ambassador to the United Nations: boffo! What a laff riot! Hilarious comedy, a delicious romp, great setup for a sit-com.

Bolton is known for being arrogant, humorless, self-righteous and confrontational, and he hates the United Nations. In other words, the perfect diplomat.

Speaking of setups, would the joke be half as good if President Bush hadn't just returned from a tour of Europe during which he assured our allies he was anxious to improve international cooperation? There, he was promising Europeans old and new that we'd turned a new page, we want nothing more than consultation, cooperation, being buddy-buddy. And then he names Bolton ambassador (oh, ha ha) to the United Nations (ha, ha, ha). Bolton keeps a bronzed grenade in his office to show how proud he is of being called a bomb-thrower.

Bolton himself has said, "I don't do carrots." Meaning he's strictly a stick guy. Intimidation, bullying, threats. The hawk's hawk, the neo-con's darling. This is a single-digit salute to the United Nations.

Bolton's contempt for the United Nations is notorious and could not be clearer. Bolton said: "There is no United Nations. ... When the United States leads, the United Nations will follow. When it suits our interests to do so, we will do so. When it does not suit our interests, we will not." Let's hear it for international consultation and consideration for everyone.

US SENATE TO MAKE KEY DECISIONS ON ALZHEIMER CARE

On March 14, the Senate will begin debating the Fiscal Year 2006 Budget Resolution, legislation that sets limits for federal spending on all government programs.  The amount of funding for programs important to people with Alzheimer’s disease, including Medicaid , depends on the outcome of the Budget Resolution. The Budget Resolution contains major cuts to the Medicaid program.

MEDICAID, jointly funded by federal and state government, is a critical program for Alzheimer families.  Cuts to this program or limits for entitlement will deny access to and reduce quality of care and services for people with Alzheimer’s disease.

During the Senate debate on the Budget Resolution, Senators Smith (R-OR) and Bingaman (D-NM) will offer an amendment to strike the Medicaid cuts and to create a Medicaid Commission that would review the Medicaid program and make recommendations to Congress about necessary changes to the program.

CALL BOTH OF YOUR SENATORS TODAY!

Tell Them:

Vote YES on the Smith-Bingaman amendment to strike the Medicaid cuts.

Medicaid must not be cut because it provides essential coverage for health and long term care for people with Alzheimer’s.

Many people with Alzheimer’s disease need help with their health care and long term care expenses.

CALL TOLL FREE: 1-800-828-0498

Common Cause, and they are urging people to call members of the Senate Ethics Committee and demand an investigation of charges against Tom Delay. I'm posting the whole email below, with relevant phone numbers.

We told you Tuesday about new alleged ethics violations raised against House Majority Leader Tom DeLay involving an expensive foreign junket taken by DeLay and his wife and allegedly paid for by a lobbyist, a clear violation of House rules.

But in the last 48 hours another serious allegation has emerged implicating DeLay. This one involves a delegation of Republican House members, including DeLay, accepting an expense-paid trip to South Korea in 2001 from a registered foreign service agent, despite House Rules that bar the acceptance of travel expenses from foreign agents.

The allegations reported this morning by The Washington Post were serious enough to prompt, Jan W. Baran, a highly respected former Republican National Committee lawyer to call the trip "a problem," and say that this is a situation that will likely trigger an investigation by the Ethics Committee.

We need to keep strenuously lobbying the Ethics Committee members to make sure they launch that investigation. You have already been calling them since Tuesday, when we sent our last email to you about DeLay, and we know that they are feeling the pressure of your calls. Please keep them up.

We also want you to call Republican congressional leadership offices. Please tell them that the Ethics Committee has an obligation to look into the allegations that have been raised, and that as leaders, they must make sure that happens:

* Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-IL): 202-225-2976 * Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), Majority Whip: 202-225-6536 * Rep. Eric J. Cantor (R-VA), Deputy Majority Whip: 202-225-2815 * Rep. Deborah Pryce (R-OH), Conference Chair: 202-225-2015 * Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA), Conference Vice-Chair: 202-225-5831 * Rep. John T. Doolitte (R-CA), Conference Secretary: 202-225-2511 * Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ), Policy Chairman: 202-225-3361 * Rep. Tom Reynolds (R-NY), Chair, National Republican Congressional Committee: 202-225-5265

The members listed above who make up the Republican leadership are accountable to all Americans, not just the citizens who live in their districts. The same is true for Ethics Committee members - they may not be your representatives in Congress, but as a citizen concerned about the ethical behavior of Congress, they are accountable to you.

Please forward this email to as many family members, friends, and colleagues as you can by clicking on the link below this email. Let us know how your calls are going by posting on our blog . Make sure to check our blog and our website, as we will keep you updated as there are further developments.

Thank you again for all you do for Common Cause.

Sincerely,

Chellie Pingree President & CEO, Common Cause

From Norma:

http://tinyurl.com/6xyz2

Rolling Stone has an extraordinary article about the battle of Fallujah, replete with extensive interviews with a handful of young American participants. I initially didn't even bother reading it, figuring it would be a thinly-veiled rah-rah piece about The Army Of One. Turns out it's a journalistic microcosm of the Iraq War itself - brash, infuriating, and way more complex than the US media is telling us. This passage in particular really pissed me off when I read it.

"The next morning, they woke to discover that the entire neighborhood was a mine field. In a nearby bunker, Bandy discovered a dead insurgent lying on top of several other fighters, eyes wide open and staring blindly. "I plugged his ass out of pure shock," Bandy says. At approximately 9 a.m., the men recall, they received orders to return to the area they'd cleared the previous afternoon. There, they met up with a team from CNN. Fallujah was teeming with journalists who'd embedded themselves with both the Army and the Marines. The men had mixed feelings about the attention; they admired the dedication of the journalists who rode with them into battle, but, collectively, they viewed CNN (and to a certain extent even Fox News) as the "enemy," willfully misrepresenting the realities of the battlefield for the entertainment of the masses back home. "It just seems like we're this big reality TV show to everyone," says Bandy. "No one knows how many people are affected by what they're watching. It's a dangerous fucking place."

There are two different accounts of what happened on the morning of November 13th. The battalion commanders state that the soldiers' mission was to provide security for an Army reconnaissance team, blocking any insurgents who might want to circle back and attack the troops from behind. The soldiers believe their primary mission was to serve as escort and, to a degree, as subjects for CNN. While another platoon continued to clear buildings, Bandy's took CNN to a house in which they'd found a large weapons cache, pointing out where one soldier had killed a fighter just moments before he ambushed them with a grenade. Alvey, who is charismatic in front of a camera, was one of the stars. "It was straight Hollywood," says Bentley, who like most of the men felt as if he was on a "baby-sitting" mission. "They got their camera crews and they're setting up and shit, and they're fucking choreographing his fucking speech and shit -- " ("They got pissed because I kept saying, 'Fuckin' haj,' " Alvey says) " -- and everyone's like, 'What the fuck are we doing?' "

Well worth a read.

MPs urge Bar Council to investigate advice on war
By Marie Woolf, Chief Political Correspondent
12 March 2005

The Attorney General is facing a damaging inquiry by the barristers' ruling body after the revelation by the country's most senior civil servant that Britain went to war on the basis of one page of legal advice.

------------------------

keep in mind that blair is one of those late cardinal signs that sally and other prescient gazers have told us about.

it seems that little tony sent his attorney general and foreign secretary (no guido, this isn't a french female escort agency) to parlaiment before the war. they asserted that the legal advise given the PM, our late cardinal tony, was just one page. well, it wasn't. clair short, kicked out of tony blair's cabinet because she oppoeded the war, trapped blair in to making the 1 page claim (she knew this was wong). now bunnypants blair, his chief lawyer, and his foreign secretary are all on record as lying about this.

what does it mean? they lied about the legal opinion on going to war. the 1 pager said, have at it. the 13 pager said, well, we may have some problems with international law.

the heart of the issue is, parlaiment was told that the legal analysis was 1 page. there was a 13 page analysis which existed at the time they were told it was 1 page. now, somebody or several will GO DOWN for the lie.

t'is a pitty, poor boys, 'thank you sir, may i have another' (no Mr. "Gannon", you may not).

Turning Chinese
So Much for the New Bush Economy
By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS

The February payroll jobs figures released last Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a continuation of America's descent into a third world service economy.

The Bush administration cheered the creation of 229,000 private sector jobs (which still leaves Bush with a net private sector job loss during his reign). However, once we look at the details, the joy vanishes: 174,000 of the jobs, or 76% of the total, are in nontradable services.

Administrative and waste services (largely temporary help and employment services) account for 61,000 or 35% of the new service jobs. The remainder are accounted for by construction (30,000), retail trade (30,000), healthcare and social assistance (27,000), and waitresses and bar tenders (27,000).

The US has apparently lost the ability to create high productivity, high value-added jobs in tradable goods and services. The ladders of upward mobility are being dismantled by offshore production for home markets and outsourcing of knowledge jobs.

Secret FBI report doubts al-Qa'ida can stage 9/11-type strikes in US
By Raymond Whitaker and Nick Meo
13 March 2005

A secret FBI report has cast doubt on al-Qa'ida's ability to stage another "spectacular" attack in the US, three and a half years after the 9/11 suicide hijackings and a year after the Madrid bombings, the network's only other major strike in the West.

While the desire of the al-Qa'ida leadership to attack the US was "not in question", the report said, "their capability to do so is unclear, particularly in regard to 'spectacular' operations". Contrary to statements by prosecutors and the FBI's own chief, Robert Mueller, the February report, obtained last week by ABC News, says the agency knows of no al-Qa'ida "sleeper" agents in the US.

"If al-qaeda cannot produce, according to CIA, a 9/11 incident at this point in time... how could they have produced it in 2001?"

Just a thought --- from a skeptic, who never believed the 'official story'...

shylurker, I would say this is all part of China's long term plan.

Iran demands more US concessions

Funny, I thought we didn't negotiate with "them terr'ists"? What's this all about anyway?

China, hmmm...

here is an instructive story. in the 1980's i was sent to japan on consultation for an information network they were developing with the my employer. i met their 'elite' and they thought i was pretty 'l33T' too because of a story planted (without my knowledge) that i had invented such and such (not true but very helpful). the entire couple of months, i had to endure the most intense, yet polite, condescension. basically, the message was, you americans are finished, you're weak, you're stupid, we will rule soon, you will be our lackeys. i didn't mind because anyone who treats me like that can kiss my ... at any rate, look at japan, cohesive society, well educated, equitable...yet they are NOT crushing us. they're having trouble.

now we have china. they have a few good years and start beating their chests like professional wrestlers (e.g., rick flair), telling us how much we suck, firing unarmed missles across taiwan to make a point, touting their wonderful society. unlike japan, their society is no peach. they have no labor laws, slave/child labor, pandemic corruption by politicians, and pollution galore. they are also pushing the envelop on global warming with their development, even though they are literally toast if the full effects of global warming come about.

they know that any nuclear war will result in their total destruction and unlike some of our little buddies around the world, they're not into martyrdom.

don't worry too much about their army, it's weak. don't worry about them cashing in their t-bills. we're their biggest customer and they'd go broke without it. just worry about them when their coastal cities are flooded or become cess pools for diseases.

india, a much nicer country, is taking the same attitude toward us...we're morons, etc. etc. they're in the same box with global warming. hopefully as a much more rational political system, india can lead on this issue. that's hopefully, but i doubt it.

i'm expecting a visit by Zoltar from Planet 9 who will provide us with a most userful document to end our troubles entitled "Serving Man."

Mike,

There were many stories about the Japanese execs looking down upon the caucasion hired flunky execs when they took over automotive factories here in the US. Their disdain for the West is long standing as is their arrogance in relation to their belief that they are superior.

Don't count on China being weak, financially or military strength or that they believe they will be annihilated in an atomic war...just the opposite. They have long believed they have so many people that they will be the survivors.

And I've thought for a long time that when they think the time is appropriate, that the US has exhausted its resources in the Middle East, and when they've had enough of us mucking around in the ME, that they'll march down out of their borders and take over the area....as well as the oil. It wouldn't be the first time.

Just to be flippant for a moment:Anyone else notice the similarities getween the Bush administration and the Borg?'Resistance is futile! You will be assimilated into the New World Corporate Order!'On a serious ending note, the Bush administration has just declared war on everyone else in space. I'm beginning to wonder if these clowns aren't rogue Scientologists who took L. Ron Hubbard's disgusting science-fiction vision of A future and are trying to make it THE future.Softwaredata recoveryVoIPWhat is WiFiInternet TelephonyVoIP ProviderVoIP SoftwareVoIP Services What is VoIPVoIP Phone SystemVoIP DrawbackVoIP ArchitectureVoIP Solutions VoIP ReviewsVoIP TechnologyWiFi CardsWiFi AntenaWiFi IEEE WiFi RangeWiFi WAPWiFi futureWiFi SecurityWiFi Hotspot WiFi BluetoothWiFi Drawbackwhat is data lossdata recoveryraid data recoverydata recovery softwarehard drive data recoverydata recovery servicehard disk data recoverydisk data recovery emergency data recoveryrecovery solutionsComputer Data RecoveryNetwork securityFireWall securityAbout UsNetwork securityContact usSite MapFirewallSecurity TipsFirewallRole of IPHacker TechnologiesVPNRelated Topics Application Layer AttacksIP AddressingIP Spoofing Netwark security scannerNetwork packet sniffersPassword attacksProtecting confidential informationSecurityTrusted Networkbusiness cardsflightsfirewallcar rentalnetwork securitycruisesweddingcorporate giftscheap flightsantivirus softwareBackground ChecksCRMVOIPFree VoIPDefinition of VOIPVoIP ArchitectureVOIP ReviewsAuto Telephone DialersUnlimited Free VOIPCRM software reviewsVOIP TechnologiesVoIP ProviderBPOVoIP Site mapBackground checksData recoveryAdvantages of WiFiScuba DivingNetwork SecurityLindsay LohanVoIPConferencingSoftwareWiFi Certification
