Last night when I watched KO and this guest was so great -- he said the problem is not that Gannon reserved the site HotMilitaryStud.com, the problem is that is he is an almost fake reporter using a fake name, denied a pass to Capital Hill, (a requirement for a long-term White House pass and the reason why he needed a daily pass for 2 years) yet he had access to the President and was able to leak confidential information from the CIA. So well put I almost started cheering!!!!!! I had just seen Wolf Blitzer's totally biased report and was pretty bummd - but good ole Keith actually reported the true story.

This was after I purchased the new Vanity Fair - with a great article by conservative reporter Christoper Hitchens where he explains why he thinks there was election fraud in Ohio. I saw that article mentioned here on AstroWorld - which is why I ran out to buy the magazine - I get so much information here!!!! Thanks!!!

Dean has the brains, morals and balls to actually stand up to these criminals. He seems like a street fighter to me. The kind of guy I'd like to walk me down a dark alley!!! (and are we in a dark alley or what?) Dean reminds me of a short kid who had to learn to beat up the bigger kids. Those people sometimes not only end up tough - they understand the plight of the underdog - which can make them more humanitarian.

I just e-mailed Gwen Ifal, and set her straight, becuse tonight on Washinton Week, again they characterized Deans followers as "kids" and hung the "too left" label on him reducing him to a "one dimensional shallow, TV personality" like themselves.
They make him out as some kind of Pied Piper, who normally intelligent adults wouldn't follow!
Actually the one who fits that description; would be our "estimed leader who is shilling the kids with a fast game of "Do you want to be a Millionaire?"
I also pointed out the credit the bloggers deserve for locally pin-pointing the failings of the other candidates, and passing them on!

morganna, thanks so much. i like that "A very damn the torpedos, full speed ahead transit time." that's great news. here is more. harry reid and dean had a sit down on dividing up the duties. remember, the DNC chairman has never been a key spokesman for the party, never in my life anyway. so dean being at the table was great news. reid and the congressional democrats will focus policy and dean will be our spokesperson AND implement new organizational and grass roots functions. this is just great. reid/pelosi are both elected (twice, constituents then members of congress). dean has a lot of sway and currency. i think that this was done very quickly and gracefully.

n.b. somebody might want to a harry reid, D, NV chart. he's our guy for now.

I just got back from a week in Mexico (Cabo san Lucas) and saw this article Morgana and thought I had gone through a time shift. When I saw this I thougth "Morgana's back, it must be spring." Great article, and blessings on you for showering us with your insights.

I've seen several articles of Dems "warning" Howard not to rattle their boat, with Nancy Pelosi saying "he would have to take some of his marching orders from them" boy are they feeling the wave about to wash over their shores. I also noticed, happily that GWB has not receive a "bounce" in the polls from his Jupiter return. Jupiter doesn't always bring blessings, I personally lose money and his Sun does square his Jupiter, anyway I was happy to see his polls going down.

Sobering forecast of change in the balance of world power

Last week the National Intelligence Council, the CIA's think tank, released a 119-page report pondering the world the United States might face in 2020. In a reflection of the myopia of our times, the Washington Post's front page story focused almost entirely on the CIA's prediction that Islamic terrorism would still be with us 15 years from now.

Left for bare mention was the far more stunning vision that was the main focus of the intelligence report. By 2020, the document forecasts, the United States will have to share global domination with the rising Asian powers of China and India.

``The likely emergence of China and India, as well as others, as new major global players -- similar to the advent of a united Germany in the 19th century and a powerful United States in the early 20th century -- will transform the geopolitical landscape,'' the CIA report concludes.

If the 1900s were the American Century, the authors say, ``the 21st century may be seen as the time when Asia, led by China and India, comes into its own.''

This is not news for those of us who live in Silicon Valley. But the rest of the country is still catching up to this reality. The report, ``Mapping the Global Future,'' reflects not only the views of the intelligence community but also academics, business people, government officials and other experts around the world. The map is worth studying.

Asia's rise starts with economics. By 2020, China's economy will exceed all others except the United States in size. India will likely have overtaken Europe. Other would-be powers such as Brazil and perhaps Russia may follow in their wake.

Europe and Japan face a huge demographic breakdown, with aging populations and shrinking workforces. They must allow large immigration from the south or face economic stagnation.

Globalization, the growing cross-border flows of information, technology, capital and people, is the ``mega-trend'' shaping everything else. Those countries best able to access and adapt new technologies will benefit most from this trend.

While the United States currently sets technology standards for the rest of the world, ``there are signs this leadership is at risk.'' The report details the decline of science and engineering graduates here and the shrinking of privately funded research and development.

``Asia looks set to displace Western countries as the focus for international economic dynamism,'' the CIA forecasts.

Asia's multinational corporations -- from Sony and Samsung to China's Huawei -- will drive global integration. The trend of outsourcing jobs to Asia will only accelerate, expanding to more occupations. ``The transition will not be painless and will hit the middle classes of the developed world in particular,'' an alarming idea for those who have already felt this impact.

The ``Asian face'' on globalization may create a rival financial system, one less dependent on the dollar. The currency reserves of Japan, China, Korea and India, now three-quarters of global reserves, will change the way business is done. And economic and cultural ties across Asia will grow, at the expense of Europe and America.

``By 2020,'' the CIA predicts, ``globalization could be equated in the popular mind with a rising Asia, replacing its current association with Americanization.''

This Asian century does not only have an economic and technological dimension. China is set to overtake Russia as the second largest defense spender after the United States. In the next two decades, China will emerge as a ``first-rate military power.''

``The key question that the United States needs to ask itself is whether it can offer Asian states an appealing vision of regional security and order that will rival and perhaps exceed that offered by China,'' the CIA concludes.

Unfortunately, American attentions are focused elsewhere. ``The U.S. preoccupation with the war on terrorism is largely irrelevant to the security concerns of most Asians,'' participants told the intelligence council.

``U.S. disengagement from what matters to Asian allies would increase the likelihood that they would climb on Beijing's bandwagon and allow China to create its own regional security order that excludes the United States.''

It is a sobering vision of not only the world ahead but the world we are living in right now. Read it.

"It may sound shrill to describe President Bush as someone who takes food from the mouths of babes and gives the proceeds to his millionaire friends. Yet his latest budget proposal is top-down class warfare in action. And it offers the Democrats an opportunity, if they're willing to take it.

First, the facts: the budget proposal really does take food from the mouths of babes. One of the proposed spending cuts would make it harder for working families with children to receive food stamps, terminating aid for about 300,000 people. Another would deny child care assistance to about 300,000 children, again in low-income working families.

And the budget really does shower largesse on millionaires even as it punishes the needy. For example, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities informs us that even as the administration demands spending cuts, it will proceed with the phaseout of two little-known tax provisions - originally put in place under the first President George Bush - that limit deductions and exemptions for high-income households.

More than half of the benefits from this backdoor tax cut would go to people with incomes of more than a million dollars; 97 percent would go to people with incomes exceeding $200,000.

It so happens that the number of taxpayers with more than $1 million in annual income is about the same as the number of people who would have their food stamps cut off under the Bush proposal. But it costs a lot more to give a millionaire a break than to put food on a low-income family's table: eliminating limits on deductions and exemptions would give taxpayers with incomes over $1 million an average tax cut of more than $19,000.

It's like that all the way through. On one side, the budget calls for program cuts that are small change compared with the budget deficit, yet will harm hundreds of thousands of the most vulnerable Americans. On the other side, it calls for making tax cuts for the wealthy permanent, and for new tax breaks for the affluent in the form of tax-sheltered accounts and more liberal rules for deductions.

The question is whether the relentless mean-spiritedness of this budget finally awakens the public to the true cost of Mr. Bush's tax policy.  Until now, the administration has been able to get away with the pretense that it can offset the revenue loss from tax cuts with benign spending restraint. That's because until now, "restraint" was an abstract concept, not tied to specific actions, making it seem as if spending cuts would hurt only a few special interest groups.

But here we are with the first demonstration of restraint in action, and look what's on the chopping block, selected for big cuts: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, health insurance for children and aid to law enforcement. (Yes, Mr. Bush proposes to cut farm subsidies, which are truly wasteful. Let's see how much political capital he spends on that proposal.)

Until now, the administration has also been able to pretend that the budget deficit isn't an important issue so the role of tax cuts in causing that deficit can be ignored. But Mr. Bush has at last conceded that the deficit is indeed a major problem.  Why shouldn't the affluent, who have done so well from Mr. Bush's policies, pay part of the price of dealing with that problem?

Here's a comparison: the Bush budget proposal would cut domestic discretionary spending, adjusted for inflation, by 16 percent over the next five years. That would mean savage cuts in education, health care, veterans' benefits and environmental protection. Yet these cuts would save only about $66 billion per year, about one-sixth of the budget deficit.

On the other side, a rollback of Mr. Bush's cuts in tax rates for high-income brackets, on capital gains and on dividend income would yield more than $120 billion per year in extra revenue - eliminating almost a third of the budget deficit - yet have hardly any effect on middle-income families. (Estimates from the Tax Policy Center of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution show that such a rollback would cost families with incomes between $25,000 and $80,000 an average of $156.)"

Worried that CNN would be "unfairly tarnished" over remarks he made about journalists killed by the U.S. military in Iraq, one of CNN's most visible executives chose to quit.

With the resignation of chief news executive Eason Jordan, CNN hopes to end a distracting controversy that had threatened to rival the Internet campaign last fall against Dan Rather for a CBS story about President Bush's military service.

During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland last month, Jordan said that he believed several journalists who were killed by coalition forces had been targeted.

Jordan quickly backed off his statements, both at the Jan. 27 panel and afterward. He said he meant to distinguish between journalists killed because they were in the wrong place when a bomb fell, for example, and those killed because they were shot at by American forces who mistook them for the enemy.

"I never meant to imply U.S. forces acted with ill intent when U.S. forces accidentally killed journalists, and I apologize to anyone who thought I said or believed otherwise," Jordan said in a memo to fellow staff members at CNN.

But the damage had been done, compounded by the fact that no transcript of his actual remarks has turned up.

A Web site, Easongate.com, was created and distributed a petition this week calling on CNN to find a transcript and fire Jordan if he said the military had intentionally killed journalists.

The Web site had been preparing Friday to post information to help its supporters contact CNN's advertisers. A message posted on the site after Jordan's resignation said its authors were pleased with the outcome but still want a videotape of the economic forum released.

"To every reader, commentator, e-mailer and blogger that committed to this cause, thank you," a message on the Web site read. "This is a victory for every soldier who has honorably served this nation. To you we devote this victory."

Today, at the time Dean was elected is an extremely complicated set up. You look at Dean's chart, the Dean Election Chart, the Democratic Party Chart, and most of all the US Chart for how all this will play out. All of these interactive pieces are loaded with yods, T-squares, oppositions and conj, and all of them indicate friction within the party and agitation within the country, personally, I think the Dems need to do a little "agitating.

I am only going to look at how this plays in the Country and later I will write about the complete interaction, let me say however, that there is ample astrological evidence of power struggles within the Dem party and the result will be a new road map for them to follow. As to the US and Dean Election (separate the person "Dean" from the person "Bush" and go chart to chart) What will this DNC Election mean for this country and how will they respond to the Dems in the next 2/4years.

The immediate aspect to hit my eyes is a T-Square between the Election Chart (Moon at 14 Aries) the US Sun (13 Cancer) and US Saturn (14 Libra) plus the progressed US Moon and Jupiter, both at 15 Cancer today. With Saturn involved in this T-Square, the new Dem Chair is going to have to overcome some fears operating in the United States today. The Solar Arc US Moon is exactly on the US Saturn, we the people have an un-named un-ease fear in this country and the new Chair, at least for this year, feeds those fears, only the people won't be able to say why or how, I think it will take a full year for those fears of the Dems to begin receding and it will be contentious, however I think the American people will love the fight because today's Moon conj. the US progressed Venus, some kind of strong underground progressive movement is already underway, out of sight of most people, but very strong.

Transiting Jupiter (although retrograde) is exactly on the progressed stationary degree of Mars, although Jupiter will not go direct in our lifetimes, progressed Mars will go retrograde in Aug 2006 and will not go direct in our lifetimes, so for several years today's Jupiter will conj. the progressed US Mars. Money will pour into the Dem coffers and will continue to do so for years to come with few dead spots, this conjunction falls into the US Mid-heaven promising progressive leadership in the future, but leadership in a greatly diminished country (Mars goes retrograde ending our desire and/or ability to rule the world)

The Dems Election Chart fits very nicely with the US Solar Chart,(indicating a connection to the present day "collective intelligence of the people" with SA Jupiter conj today's Mercury (lots of positive talk) and coming to a conj. in two years to today's Sun (that's a winning aspect for 2006)Today's Sun and Pluto sextile and Saturn is going to reform a yod in a few weeks, again the beginning of destiny for the Dems and stabilizing their power, but the mainstream media will fight it. However, all the Aquarius of today and the SA Aquarius of the US Chart falls into the US 3rd house of the media, I don't know if the media will be able to ignore the Dems.

The Moon of the US chart and the Democrats natal chart conjuncts Howard Dean's SA Jupiter, initially the people will look to him for leadership whether the old guard likes it or not, they would do well to jump on the bandwagon because old power structures are passing.

Howard Dean's SA Jupiter, the US Moon, the Dem party Moon and today's Election Chart for the DNC Descendant are all conjunct Dean's Chiron. Howard will wound and heal the Democratic Party all at the same time.

This is all for now folks, but the bottom line to all this is expect upheaval in the party, people looking to Dean for leadership, a not before accepted power of voice, for the DNC Chair. The pinnacle of conservative power has passed, expect them to continue trying and sniping with what would seem success but it isn't success, their power base as the planets take a turn, is weakened badly.

I can attest to the undergroung progressive movement that is developing. It is growing, moving steadily and rythmically, and is imbued with a lot of intellect. gms: As stated above, the planet is under great stress and as I have stated, quakes reaching 10, 12 or more, are in our future. Currently the South America and the Nazca Plates are preparing for shifts. This is the prime cause of volcanism in the region.

ATSNN: In the past 3 to 4 months, there have been increasing reports of marine life exhibiting behavior that could be interpreted as a reaction to changing magnetic lines (i.e. large numbers of beached whales and dolphins in Australia, increasing finds of dead right and pilot whales in the Atlantic along with 34 whales beached in North Carolina on the same day, 500+ giant squid beached on California's coast, etc.). Along with these marine life behavior abnormalities, there are also anecdotal stories of observations of changing migration lanes (bird species no longer passing through traditional migration lanes but now being seen to pass through in new regions). gms: In my “Future Map of the World” I state that Earth will experience a geophysical pole shift by 2012 creating a new North Pole.

In this case Earth’s crust will move relative to Earth’s core. Previously I also stated that three separate magnetic pole shifts will precede this event, each a few degrees.

I believe the phenomena of beaching whales and giant squid are in some cases a result of magnetic abnormalities. However, having said that, I believe most are due either to some kind of magnetic wave technology used by the military and changing ocean currents resulting from increased ocean temperatures. The PNAC plan in a nutshell.

Iraq is about the size of California, right? What's the deal with the count? Canada uses paper ballots, each precinct counts the votes --- takes about four hours, and presto, results.

PatC, we do need to "hunker down" so to speak on this yod. Saturn is long term and that indicates that the Dems cannot turn this around overnight, we didn't get to this place overnight and we won't get out of it overnight, but we can watch and be part of the shift and enjoy that.

Dean has the opportunity to change the way politics are done in this country and taking political action to a new level of response. If he can just get "Kansas" to see "what's the matter" with them, that alone will shift the dialogue. The Dems have some brilliant down to earth minds in their party, Edwards, Frank (What's the Matter with Kansas) Clark, (both of them) Reid, Allen, Kennedy, even Kerry and the list goes on, if they get behind Dean to help him they will do this.

I was one of the first people ever to send Dean some money and I received a honest to god handwritten note back, I'm saving it because Howard Dean not Karl Rove could be the man who goes down in history as the most important figure in the beginning of this century.

On the other hand, if you knew this was your last year on earth -(I'm not saying that;s the case) what would you be doing?

Worrying about that assache in Washington DC (which only caused me to be enraged at the blatant thievery and deceptions), or worry about the success of Howard Dean over the next four years or attending to everything you ever wanted to do and accomplish in your lifetime that you haven't done yet and packing it into the next year?

That's the way I feel about the good news of Howard's ascent. Not that I'm not thrilled for him but "Too little, too late, and too much has passed."

Only one thing is going to effect a vast change in the current political atmosphere and it isn't Howard.

So I'm not going to worry about that anymore. After the changeover and fixing of the election machines and votes AGAIN that I was witness to - well you all know my disgust and disappointment. I wash my hands of it.

I'm going to concentrate more on the Mundane Astrology which includes not only countries and personas but earthquakes, volcanoes, and earth changes. I'll look at astromapping of the Eclipses. I'm going to try to do more with
economic astrology, which has not been a forte'.

Quantum mechanics is coming around to the view that we can not only peer into the future, but that we can shape it consciously.

They would not exist in the new dimension,and ideally we would not repeat the behavior as it would fail to apply. Armegeddon and those kinds of things would, of course, not exist.

It's possible that trying to fight too hard could be like chopping off the limb of the Hydra in mythology... she just grows another one. But then, so does the starfish.

At any rate, we have to study this carefully, and not be too hasty. We all want a permanent change.

Being a grumpy old man in my fifties, in this column I tend to focus on such things as the Iraq war, Israel, violence in Iran, corporate corruption, etc. But two decades ago I wrote that we had entered a golden age, and I still believe that. Present perturbations are miniscule on a historical scale: our present worldwide civilization is one of peace and goodwill, healing and regeneration, and it will remain so for two centuries.

How can I say that? Because a little known and virtually never studied planetary incident occurred in November 1983. This phenomenon, Pluto's return to Scorpio, occurs every 247 to 250 years, and accurately foreshadows the major movements of history for the ensuing two and a half centuries.

The 1983 Pluto "return" chart showed many things about the years 1984 to 2232 A.D. Many of those trends have already sounded their first note. My view is this.

Dean, of course, will not be a savior. I think he is probably not a great man. He was just hired to do an important job, and he will do a good one. There are specific tasks for the DNC Chairman, and that is what he will do. An excellent choice.
Everyone plays a part, and this is about division of labor. Until we recognize our individual power and significance, we will not have good leadership. When we do, we will work together with our chosen politicians, and put them in proper persective. They are a reflection of us.

We can't escape, nor should we fight too hard and dissipate our strength. We need to recognize our individual jobs, see what we can contribute, and begin to take responsibility. The sooner we do this, the sooner we can move on to something better. We have to work our way out of this together.

The people here were probably born at various stages beyond this primitive mindset. For me, I have always felt out of place. But now I am beginning to sense a better fit with my society, which makes me think that this shift in awareness is real. All the more reason for all of us to value our talent and heed the call to contribute. There is power in numbers and if we unite and mobilize, I am convinced that we can improve our society.

And mike's fortuitous re-connection with lobster is a great portent. The uniting of two, ripples and affects us all. It reminds us of the joys of friendship.

I am overjoyed that this position of leadership for Dean is the next step. Last year I felt he would be very important to the 'soul' of the US. And now, it appears that he will truly be more able to make a difference on a basic foundation level, than he ever could have done as president under the current political climate. PatC & Pallas - regarding future earth changes - my gut feeling is that activity has something to do with magnetic, and/or perhaps axis, shifts and that changes will be gradual rather than as a shortened time cataclysmic event. Not to say there may not be catastrophes in this or that corner of the globe from time to time. Earth has been undergoing changes for a very long time. First they were bulldozed & developed over in NJ. ( slightly north of Bridgetin & Mullica Hill, in the article, east of Phila.,) One of my reasons for being in Maine now!

however hope springs eternal......................my cold weather hardy reliant peach tree WILL bloom this spring in my front yard here! It is 4years old and about 7' tall!!!!!!!!

I have returned from DC, and I bring news of a rising star on the spritual left. Her name is Dianne Wilkerson. She is an African-American state senator from Massachusetts and she gave one of the most inspiring speeches I have ever heard in her bid for a vice-chair position in the party. Unfortunately she lost, but she impressed the hell out of a lot of people, myself included. This woman needs to be on the national stage, particularly in black churches. Her public speaking skills are comparable to MLK and Barack Obama. And she is uncompromisingly liberal. This woman has got it goin' on. She is a rising star in the party, and you're not going to hear alot about her in the media yet, but she was all the buzz at the convention.

Dean won easily. He seems ready for the job. He and his network of advisors are clearly aware that many people are just waiting for Dean to screw up. During his speeches, Dean kept things under control. And he seems ready for the job. At one point, he indicated his willingness to embrace the spritual and religious left, which is a vast untapped resource in my opinion. Likewise, he expressed a great deal of interest in revamping the state and local party infrastructure.

And one final note: I GOT ON TV!!!

I have always had a very strong intuitive feeling that a LARGE number of important and prominent/powerful right wing Republicans are closeted “self-hating/loathing” homosexuals. My theory has always been that GWB is closeted and that he was so conflicted as a young man that he turned to drug/alcohol and then to Christian fundamentalism to help him with his conflicted moral battle and his self-hatred. Ken Star was the first to stand out and the number has grown and IMHO the Bush Regime just like the Nazis Third Reich is riddled with the very kind of individuals they so adamantly seem to hate the most. It's a mess... on the surface it appears to be a sex scandal... but that's not it... John at Americablog puts it this way:

Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer agreed to pay $135,540 to settle federal charges that it violated child labor laws in Connecticut, Arkansas and New Hampshire. As part of the agreement, revealed yesterday after it was secretly signed in January, the Labor Department agreed "to give Wal-Mart 15 days' notice before the Labor Department investigates any other 'wage and hour' accusations, like failure to pay minimum wage or overtime."

Labor Blog has a screenshot of the email DOJ sent out to district offices informing them of their agreement with Wal-Mart.
This is the power of Wal-Mart's corporate contributions at work. Behold as the most unethical administration in history finds yet another way to wallow in the mud. This agreement doesn't just allow Wal-Mart to hide abuses of child labor laws, but any labor laws (and Wal-Mart is legendary for its anti-worker policies).

Quoting an unnamed source, The Raw Story reported that McClellan visited an Austin, Texas gay bar on March 19, 1995. The date was fixed in the mind of the source because a local memorial service was held the same day that McClellan attended.

Raw Story, which has outed other anti-gay Republicans, said its source "reserved comment on whether McClellan was actually gay, but said he was frequently seen at gay clubs." It says that another source confirmed McClellan was a regular at gay clubs.

McClellan is an Austin native.

Scientist says US censored Iraq WMD report

CANBERRA: An Australian scientist involved in the US search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq said the CIA censored his reporting so that it suggested the weapons existed, according to an interview on Monday.

Rod Barton, a microbiologist who worked for Australian intelligence for more than 20 years, told Australian Broadcasting Corp television’s “Four Corners” public affairs programme he quit the Iraq Survey Group (ISG) in disgust at the censorship of its interim report presented to the US Congress in March last year.

“We left the impression that, yes, maybe there were ... WMD out there,” Barton said. “So I thought it was dishonest.” Barton, an experienced weapons hunter who joined the UN search for Saddam Hussein’s illicit arsenal in 1991, said the censorship in the US investigation began after Charles Duelfer became the new head of ISG in February 2004.

Barton said Duelfer wanted “a different style of report altogether” which he had discussed with US President George W Bush and the CIA.
