AFTER THE BREAK OF DAY

It's been interesting reading off and on today the posts on the election,
Bush, Kerry and astrologers. All the way from blaming to excusing, to Nancy thinking she should give astrology up.

Please bear with me while I say a little something about astrology, blogs, pollsters etc.

Astrology is a study of energies swirling around us. It isn't psychic or woo woo, it's a serious study of the mathematics of energy. If the weatherman predicted a coming storm for several days and the storm blew over, is he incompetent, should he quit? Should he throw himself in front of the TV screen and beg forgiveness? What should he do? Maybe keep working, honing his skills, or just acknowledge that there is always an Unknown X Factor that is capable of shifting the energies at the last minute.

Through the last 4 years, astrologers, including myself have accurately predicted 2002, the scandals around Bush, the rise of Kerry, the success of the debates, the Iraq war, all this and more. We also constantly cautioned against believing it would be one or the other, because it was too close, cautioned against the voting machines, and cautioned against the confusion and blindness of the American People through Neptune.

If I had it to do over again I would interpret the information I had in the same way. The mistake made was not realizing how far to the right the people of this country had shifted. I do believe there was voting fraud but I also believe we didn't make a very good case as Democrats.

If you read the articles written over the last three years, you will find the message that the election would be too close to call and that Kerry had a slight, very slight mathematical edge. There were astrologers all over the world looking at the same data and some saw the edge to Kerry and some saw the edge to Bush, but ALL saw how close it would be and how difficult to determine.

There are astrologers who have come on this site to "bash" other astrologers, I consider them to either be insecure or not very good astrologers. I don't think any astrologer on or off this site should be "bashing" others because the predictions were all over the place all over the world and no matter what it turned out to be the astrologers on this site sincerely poured over charts for hours, measuring, weighing the mathematics of the situation.

Nancy's prediction of Kerry fighting; the energy to fight is there for that kind of prediction. What was the X Factor in changing Kerry's decision. Was it his wife? His advisors? Nancy doesn't have all the charts of all the advisors and neither do I. I don't even know who all the advisors might be, however looking strictly at Kerry and Edwards charts it shows a fight to the last vote. Something shifted and changed all that.

Nancy has said this, Morgana has said this, Claudia Dikinis has said this and I have certainly said this "No matter who won, the transformation in America is not complete, and it's going to be a rough ride but we will eventually come out of it, different but out of it." If George Bush had been gone in 2003 it would still have taken 20 years to clean up the mess he had made by that time; no matter who is in office. We did have a right to hope that the flow of mud over the US could be slowed with another leader.

Right now we have a one party system, with the Republicans controlling all branches of the government. A democracy is based on a two party system, we do not have a democracy right now. I don't know what to call it but it's not a democracy and even with a one party rule this country is divided as badly as it was during the Civil War.

As soon as we vent and finish blaming someone; astrologers, Kerry, the Democrats, the machines, dirty tricks we need to get back on track and fight for our country and the fight has just begun.

"It is not my responsibility to save the world, to stop the war, to change the church, to liberate women. God will see to all of that because planetary destruction, government-sponsored slaughter - for which "war" is a pornographic euphemism - ecclesiastical imperialism, and sexism are all insidious worms inside otherwise great ideas. But it is my responsibility to do something to eradicate each of them from where I stand or bear the sin of being part of all of them. Consciousness commits. Once I see that what calls itself virtue is really sin, I have no choice but to resist it. But, the end of it all depends on society's being able to achieve a critical mass of resistance. For that, God will need to "send our laborers into the field."

There will be a new article by Isabelle up tomorrow.

Here is how I see it:

The Bush team put together an alliance of "Know Nothings", Christian right folks, who dont read newspapers, or care about events, who dont understand the importance of trade and budget deficits, or wars for oil (fought by the lower and middle class to benefit the super rich), or corruption evidenced by extremely large no bid contracts, or elimination of the fair labor standards act and overtime for anyone making over $23,000 per year, who dont really know or care how much the Bush adm lies to them, but care about their religious views and attempting to enforce them on the rest of society, and electing "one of them" as president. This is called values & culture.

This is an old, old game... a mild form of religous intollerance. It is really a shame it had to be used as a campaign tactic. It can be very dangerous stuff, and can easily get out of hand, and invoking it for political gain is an (IMHO) very good reason for despising bush.

The other part of the alliance is folks who have big incomes and benefit from tax cuts, and have no need or desire for social programs (or the cost to them for the social programs).

These two groups, plus a small portion of the jewish vote (that rewarded bush for his support of Israel) plus those republican voters who always vote republican, regardless of whether their man is a conservative or not were sufficient to swing the vote.

That, and the fact that the youth were registered, but were apparently not scarred enough of a draft to actually come out and vote in numbers, swung the vote.

I am quite disapointed in this. I live in a consrvative town in Colorado, and am on the town council. The votes here went 2:1 for Bush.

I really think folks voted their "christian values", ie: religion.

This is dangerous and stupid, but it is.

I am almost 58 and was looking forward to social security. I hope something remains of that program when I get to be 62 or 65.

How are these lower and middle class folks with their "christian values" going to feel when their social security is destroyed, their savings is devalued and inflated away? Will they blame Bush? Or will Bush be that good honest religious man who just had to deal with all that stuff that Clinton left him...

I guess if I was a young person, I would consider moving to Canada, NZ or Australia. They understand there, that you must pay attention to budget and trade deficits.

Meantime, you can invest in gold or foreign currencies.

www.everbank.com is a good one for foreign currencies, fdic insurred and in the us.

Gold, you can get from your local coin dealer.

Also, grow a garden, and try to be as energy self sufficient as you can (solar, or alternate fuel (corn stoves)).

Also, Reki, or other energy work can be a really good thing to be involved with, as a giver or reciever. We run a group at our local Unity Church on alternate sundays.

I have been reading the mail here and on Nancy's site for some time, and I really appreciate your thoughts, efforts, and astrology work.

As an ex court astrologer from Atlantis I appreciate how you cant always get things right (we could only see out to Saturn, telescopes were not very decent) and while we could get the war stuff right (Mars), we really didnt know the damn place would sink (big sheepish grin!).

Best wishes for all good things!

Sally,I can't say it enough, thanks for your articles and insight and this wonderful site. I hope I have not stepped over the line at any time but if so I apologize.
I urge all members of our "family" here to determine for themselves what they expect from this site, and vent if needed, but please recognize that this site cannot be everything to everybody.
No astrologer is 100% correct, but this site has some great writers and analysts and we should be glad they are willing to do it.
Just wanted to show some respect and admiration here. :)
Thanks again to all involved with this site, it's really saved my sanity for the last 6 months.....

namaste, love, peace, and truth to all......

Thank you Sally. And that quote is perfect. Thank you again, for everything. Thanks also to Nancy & every other astrologer who has given their time and energy to provide us with their insights and doing the very best by us that anyone can.

Sally, Nancy, Morgana, and everyone else, this is truly a sad time for America. I find my self almost ashamed to call myself an American.

Except for the fact that Bush did not win this election, he stole it. Or, rather, his brother probably did.

As a student of astrology, I could not believe that Bush would win. Now that the powers that be have apparently called it in his favor, I can only hope that, like Nixon, the voting shennanigans which took place this year will be discovered, and uncovered, and he will be forced to resign, or face the scandal of REALLY being impeached. Unlike Bill Clinton, who's supposed lies hurt no one but himself...and possibly, Monica.

SOON.

Thanks Sally for your steady hand in steering this particular ship [Astroworld Blog]. Your summary nicely captures what I awkwardly have tried to say about the nature of astrology (as I understand it) - thus the uselessness of "blaming" someone for a "wrong" prediction.

Garry, thank you for the unending supply of unconditional love and light that your gentle soul provides here. I agree that this time is one for venting, especially for those of us invested in the effort to oust B* & Co. Your comment naming me along with a few others caught me off guard a little, as I wasn't aware of a failure to be forgiving. So, if a comment was construed as somehow hurtful, please be assured that this has not been my intent at all.

This site, seems to me, represents an incredible assemblage of wisdom - with all the astrologers so willing to share their gifted insights as well as the enlightened souls sharing their visions here. I am grateful to have been able to "associate" with all here over the past months [even though much of the time as just a lurker]. I truly appreciate the many personalities that exist here. Astroworlders have shown themselves to be smart and saavy, and full of a healthy fighting spirit, as well as a good deal of kindness and humility. Today of all days, I'd argue for more than an ounce of forbearance on behalf of us all.

Mark S. - Just for clarity's sake, I didn't want anyone to think I was recommending a path of violence. Though I'm a fighter, I'm more in tune with Ghandi's ways than those of the warrior. When I mentioned doing battle, I was speaking metaphorically of continuing the fight politically. I recognize, however, that we are all different entities with differing paths.

And thank-you all for being here this day. Your stories brought out how much we share in common, and the tears, insights and laughter shared here have all been real balm to my soul.

Goodnight...

Bob...I read that retirement age for social security was going to be raised to 72. Was that just propaganda or ???

If so, it's going to be a little more wait than you were counting on, sorry to say. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, BTW. I am really pissed at this situation.

Posted by: KM on November 4, 2004 06:25 AM

Are you kidding? 72? Need to take a look at Social Security, seems the last time I looked at that chart it didn't have a positive future.

I am suspicious of these "party" dates the Repugs and Dems put out there but the Republicans count their beginning or reorganized party as July 6, 1864, Jackson, MI, and while their leader seems to be completely coated in triple layer teflon, they are not. Watch when Saturn squares their Mars next spring, while at the same time Mars will be opposing their natal Saturn and square Natal Venus. Having no one else to shift the blame to in the Senate, they will find themselves on the defensive.

One reason sited by an editorial writer (Sarah Anderson of Common Dreams) for not moving to Canada is:

8. 2008. President Bush is entering his second term facing an escalating casualty rate in Iraq, a record trade deficit, a staggering budget deficit, sky-high oil prices, and a deeply divided nation. As the Republicans face likely failure, progressives need to start preparing for regime change in 2008 or sooner. Remember that Nixon was re-elected with a bigger margin than Bush, but faced impeachment within a year.

Well, I was busy last night celebrating a great effort by VA DEMS to really make a difference. The party is alive and kicking and the energy and demographics will lead to a big change in the old dominion soon.

As a result of my merry making, I was only just able to review the comments of 'the visiting astrologers' who gloated about their superior predictive powers.

A few quick points:

(1) Please read the two sentences above and go to the link provided. Educate yourselves. The question here is epistemological -- how do we know what we know?

(2) What we do know indisputably is that about 50% of the votes were cast on voting machines that: (a) were manufactured by companies with CEO's actively supporting the Bush re-election; (b) used software with proprietary code unavailable to anyone but the specific company; and (c) can be 'hacked' by a bright high school hacker when connected to a network (which all voting machines were except King County, WA).

(3) When you educate yourselves at the site or others of your choosing and you apply the two postulates provided for your convenience, acknowledge the arrogance and intellectual dishonesty of chortling over your superior 'predictive' power.

How skillful is it to predict a rigged contest? Not very. In your zeal and eagerness to come here and gloat, you mindlessly accept what could be the greatest scandal in our history. This acceptance makes you either passively complicit in the folly or lazy.
----------
The following remark is directed ONLY to those 'visiting astrologers' who came/come here to gloat. It has nothing to do with any regular contributor or reader of this site.

To the gloating 'visiting astrologers':

"Don't be an ass-clown!" --“Y2J” (an authority in line with your rude behavior)
----------

Someone wisely said that the some of the disappointment here and internal bickering was due to a desire 'to have it now' or something like that. This is a normal impulse. It's also normal to form a community based on hope.

I visit a number of web sites (newspapers around the world, bogs, and others) to gather my news since I know 1984 when I see it (the network/cable news folks). This site is a wonderful collection of shared information, links, and support. Gloating "visiting astrologers," once again, don't come here and show us just what clowns you are. Go do you happy dance somewhere else.

There is still important work to be done!!! AW will play a part in that work because of its caring, supportive, and, at the same time, intellectually honest foundation.

I wish a speedy recovery to all AWers and a quick return to the cause of saving this country from its worst impulses.

sally,
maybe the party in office would be better read with a chart of the p.n.a.c. charter. it seems this is finally a 3 party system after all!
i've missed everyone and tried to catch up on the posts...had a house fire, all was not lost, still alive and overwhelmed with the goodness of the fire fighters and people in general.
kerry losing has really thrown me for a loop though, it just didn't seem possible! there has to be a whole lot that we don't know yet.
thank you again for creating this site....and for all opinions, predictions and wonderful writing.

Now that's an interesting concept Rubaiat. PNAC Charter was started in 1997 but I don't have the exact date, I am going to look for it tomorrow. Very interesting concept

Thank You Sally for your continued wisdom and voice of calm reassurance. Thanks to all the other wonderful astrologers that contribute and give of their time and knowledge, I greatly appreciate this little corner of sanity. This had been a very dark sad, sad day for me and so many other Americans and likewise for many in the world community. I know I am not alone in this heavy dispair. I am feeling intensely the collective sadness and perhaps that is why I am so very low and disoriented. I think that is also the situation of many that post here, since so many very intutive, senstive and advanced souls seem to post.

From the perspective of a person in the UK I'd suggest that your two main candidates were too alike. The 'people get the politicians they deserve' - it's cruel but correct.

Somewhere on the net are tables where you can calculate how much fossil fuel your lifestyle is consuming. It's laborious finding out how many miles were travelled last year by plane, train, bus and car but it's the first step toward reducing that fossil fuel total.

Venus/Jupiter conjunction ? Let the comfort continue ...

It would be really great to see a great big STOP to wringing of hands, casting blame, "we should've done better," "worked harder," the majority of people are stupid, bad karma (there's a too common one imo), strange cosmic metaphysical workings, "we'll do better next time," yadda yadda yadda. It'll NEVER change until we get RID OF THE EVOTING MACHINES IN THE HANDS OF CRIMINALS. Lo & behold, Mike Malloy at Air America spent his whole show on the exact same subject. It will NEVER CHANGE until our votes are counted legally & fairly... a nice "X" on a nice piece of paper, get a receipt, & drop it into a lockbox guarded by say... the Womens League of Voters & rotated from there. We CANNOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM UNTIL WE CORRECT THE-THE-THE-THE-THE PROBLEM!

Posted by: JoannaOregon on November 4, 2004 09:00 AM

No, & people DON'T ALWAYS get the politicians they deserve... OR!!... for whom they voted. Bah! Humbug!! Poppycock!!

Where is Vis?
I guess he correctly predicted the destruction of the Democratic party. Unfortunately,I had no idea that it would be so utterly complete( I guess I'm more upset about the Senate results than the Presidential results because I thought those close races in the Red states would move to the Democratic column at the last minute). Foolish me!!!!!!!!

rubaiat, wow, what a crop of challenges you have dealt with, and still you come here with kind, wise words. It's such a pleasure to see your thoughts in these times. I am glad you are well.

Blessings to you and may you have much gentler times!

Joanna, you are right on as usual! No one says it better.

We have wonderful posters here for the most part. I just keep reminding myself that we all have to grow, but man is growth a bummer! It's those rest periods that feel like grace.

Thank you Sally, Nancy, Morgana, Vis, Isabelle, and the wonderful astrologers who have contributed articles here. I just love this place in space!

Sally,

I saw the eclipse, of October 28 just before the election on both Edwards' Venus and Kerry's Venus and saw it as mostly good news. Shared values, tremendous popularity - some financial problems with the square to the nodes...but an eclipse on\
Venus? The good and the beneficial in my mind.

Now after the fact, we know it was obviously something else. Venus is ones values, possessions, things they love.

What should I have seen and did not?

Was it a threat to the women and children in the lives of the Kerry and Edwards?

Please my fellow astrologers, go back to the charts of the eclipse of the 28th on Kerry's chart, on Edwards' chart.....let me have your opinions on what you see of that eclipse.

 http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/11/3/52213/1921

2000                 2004
Bush 2,912,790  Bush  3,836,216
Gore 2,912,253  Kerry 3,459,293
Nader   97,421   Nader    32,035
Other   40,193   Other    28,382

= 7,355,296 (2004) - 5,963,657 (2000) = 1,392,639 new voters (99% precincts counted, no provisionals or absentees).

So, we have 1.39 million new voters, and Kerry loses by 376,923 votes? Thus, he lost an overwhelming majoirty of them, or he lost an overwhelming majority of regular voters - much, much more than Gore lost.

We have 77,197 fewer third party votes, but Kerry loses the vast majority of these?

Exit polling numbers show that Kerry had more Hispanic and Cuban support than Gore did, and Kerry lost?

Most exit polls in Florida showed Kerry leading, yet he loses by a massive 5%?

Diaries :: BuckMulligan's diary ::

All this after an incredibly failed presidency?

After looking at these numbers, I can come to only one conclusion. The Diebold machines were rigged.

There is no way provisional or absentee ballot are going to make up the 376,923 votes - unless a LOT of people were challenged in the urban areas and had to fill out provisionals.

These Florida numbers JUST DON'T MAKE SENSE!

And this!!

The first problem he noticed was that there was no sign off of the transfer of the ballots. Nothing was written down and given to the poll worker as proof that the ballots were passed off to the county employee.

What's worse, Stefan noticed the pick-up truck of the supposed county board of election - the truck the ballots for 40 precincts were loaded into - had a big Bush-Cheney 2004 sticker in the back window. Stefan did say that he followed the truck to the election headquarters, though he didn't see what transpired after the truck pulled into the election hq parking lot.

As Stefan explains it, the poll managers had such an extensive list of voters rights and regulations that they had to follow, including it being illegal to have any partisan buttons etc. in the polling place, yet the ballots for voters in over 40 precincts were put in the hands of Bush-Cheney partisans.

I don't know whether the Bush partisans did or didn't play any games with the ballots they received, but it sure doesn't look good, and I wonder whether it's even legal. And let's not forget, this is a state that was already well on its way to becoming the new Florida of GOP election fraud.

Sally, what you said about the country being divided......how can we be so divided and yet lose our 2 party system? If 48-49% of us can see thru the smoke and mirrors, why isn't that reflected in who we put in office? It becomes so confusing. Is this all part of the trans pluto square USA Neptune? Trans Neptune in Aquarius? Progressed USA Sun enters Pisces? All of the above?

It is driving me mental. You have a party in complete power who still whines about a "librul" media and plays victim to their own shadow, while spewing forth hate. I am so tired of being demonized for wanting a government that would treat people and the enviroment with respect, sigh. Maybe though, it has to tip over 50% to even get the voter fraud stuff on the table?

Meanwhile, I guess I am happy that the sun is currently squaring Neptune today as GWB holds his first cabinet meeting. Right now the reports are that he is full of his percieved mandate self. I can only hope that reality will soon assert itself and stop this man and his minions.

Again, thank you all for being here. I come here to learn, and to be honest, don't really mind the rants. It's all part of the process as we as humans try to work thru where and what to do next.

Statement from John Zogby on 2004 Presidential Election Results:

“We feel strongly that our pre-election polls were accurate on virtually every state. Our predictions on many of the key battleground states like Ohio and Florida were within the margin of error. I thought we captured a trend, but apparently that result didn’t materialize.

“We always saw a close race, and a close race is what we’ve got. I’ve called this the Armageddon Election for some time—a closely-divided electorate with high partisan intensity on each side."

Bloggers said to blame for bad poll info

News organizations promised Wednesday to look into why their Election Day exit polls showed an initial surge for John Kerry, but also blamed bloggers for spreading news that gave a misleading view of the presidential race.

The exit poll data was delivered at several points Tuesday to ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and The Associated Press by the National Election Pool, a company formed in the wake of the networks' blown calls on election night 2000.

The first wave showed Kerry with a lead of three percentage points in Florida and four points in Ohio _ both battleground states won by President Bush when the votes were actually counted, giving the president his margin of victory.

``Once one part of it is in question and is wrong, it kind of puts the whole thing in question,'' said Marty Ryan, Fox News Channel's executive producer for political coverage. ``It was disappointing. ... During the primary season, it worked very well for us, we were happy with it. But that was not good last night.''

Other network representatives said their confidence in NEP remained unshaken.

I'm feeling better today... the world hasn't really changed since yesterday, but my view of it has.

Jonathan, thank you for focusing on Nexxus' comments about concession not being legal closure and your thoughts that K/E are taking care of business under the radar, so to speak.

I tried to watch Kerry's speech yesterday, but it was difficult... I felt so emotional... so I turned the sound down periodically... but when the sound was on, I did hear and do vividly recall first John Edwards say... 'every vote WILL be counted'... the count will go on... and then John Kerry say, 'I've got your back'...

In the hours immediately after his concession I began to settle down emotionally and process some. So, here's my take, for what it's worth... the election is for me, reminiscent of Nixon's second election... clouded, very clouded, with really no joy in Mudville... and later, Nixon brought about his own destruction. [Give 'em enough rope, etc] The Repug base is not that great... there was huge voter fraud on Tuesday.

Joanna is right on! Only ONE thing needs fixing and that's the electronic voting machines. They started with Poppy's elections, he never could have won without them... they have increased in number since, thanks to the HAVA act provided by his son... GET RID OF THEM! HIT THE STREETS IF NEED BE.

The Democratic Party is NOT dead. The people are rolling up their sleeves, looking to the next fight... But we need to change the structure of the party. Kos calls for Terry Mc's outster... I support that! And the state parties need restructuring. I believe the SC State Party thwarted the effort to get out the vote for Kerry in exchange for a promise from Repugs to support Inez's campaign. It wouldn't be the first time such a deal was cut. Dem Parties in the South have been doing it for decades. And you wonder why we can't retake the South? I have NO evidence for such a charge, but I was on the ground and my eyes were open...

The astrologers on this board have made predictions in regard to this race. The are as accurate if not more than the majority of predictions throughout the net.

No entity worth its salt, astrologer or otherwise, would come on this board and say 'I told you so'... it is bad Form, poor manners and unnecessary.

The venting on this board is healthy and I frankly am delighted to see some new names, folks who have been lurking, too shy until now to say something. Welcome, and please do not go away.

Some of us living in 'Red States' have no other place to take our grief and anger. Thanks to the universe for Sally... who provides not only the place in cyberspace, but the graciousness to not only allow but support our venting. Nancy, you have nothing to apologize for... we love you and some of us believe there was a Kerry victory, it was covered up (Neptune?). The coming weeks will see every vote counted and perhaps a different result from yesterday's concession? I won't cling to that, but I feel better knowing that K/E are continuing to ensure the count of these votes... there are hundreds of lawyers covering our backs as we speak.

Sally's take that one party now has control is absolutely correct. That is usually described as totalitarian (despotic) in poli sci... in this case, it is fascism (imho) Seems the very folks who espouse freedom, would enslave you! The astrologers on this board have predicted a difficult time for whomever is in the White House in 2005 forward and for the People. So process your grief and MOVE ON.

Pallas, so glad you vented... you appear somewhat like me in that respect... I have to get 'it all out' and then I recognize that there is still a fight, so I roll up my sleeves. Thank you for being in the trenches... I'm sure you are still reeling with anger from all the abuse of the system you have seen first hand. Your efforts were not in vain, but were a part of all the efforts put forth by more than 1/2 of this country to make a change. Change does not come overnight, but it comes. Namaste.

There is tremendous energy on this board... Jonathan's words are lovely indeed... blessings to all who come here.

Life goes on... and it ends. Two of my favorite elderly relatives are dying... guess they chose to go together. Many more are dying in Iraqi as we move about our day... many more across the planet. I am reminded of Ram Dass' words, part of a conversation with his guru... "Ram Dass, there is no 'suffering' --- all is perfect, just as it is." Then a few more words and "Ram Dass, you must go out and help the people, they are suffering."

Light and blessings,

It's not at all hard to decide what we need to do next... WE FOCUS ENTIRELY ON GETTING RID OF THE REVOLTING EVOTING MACHINES. BlackBox is a great place to start along with intense investigation about the past "electionS."

The only criticism I might have about "lib'ruls" is that they're entiring too trusting & naive of a certain slice of psychopathologic criminal population... that they could really truly be as destructive & evil as we CANNOT IMAGINE! We'd better start "IMAGINING" that they can... & ARE! We don't have to have bushadruggie for "four more years"... or more. I can guarantee us that there will be nothing left of the Natural World, our beloved beautiful home & foundation, NOR of a healthy, evolving humanbecoming society... what there is left of us.

We will join with ten of millions of us to focus, focus, focus on this one incredibly important issue... the issue that will save our collective asses.

Global Alchemy - Long and Painful or Quick and Dirty

Almost half the population of this great country awakened Wednesday morning to the disheartening prospect of another Bush victory. For those of us committed to the vision of a Peaceful and Enlightened world John Kerry’s loss may be felt as a demoralizing defeat. While it may appear this way on the surface, it is a mistake to succumb to this partial and pessimistic view. From a higher perspective, Bush and his cronies may be seen as predictable symptoms... even necessary influences in the birth of a new world. I do not use the word “Birth” lightly for most of you are aware that we are at the threshold of an important evolutionary shift in the world. Some have described it as a global metamorphosis which will recreate the world into something as radically different as the butterfly is to the caterpillar. As in any birth, contraction, pain and labor are essential ingredients. From this point of view, the catastrophic events of the last four years can be seen as a quickening of that global birth process. While many of us would have preferred John Kerry as our president, it is not unreasonable to assume that his moderating influence might have allayed the pains of labor and in so doing, forestalled the birth. With Bush as president there is simply no question of continued pain and suffering for the next four years. The good news is that people in huge numbers are beginning to wake up. In fact, no one could have unified the world the way George Bush has in the last four years. In order to appreciate his influence, as difficult as that may be, we have to develop a very concrete vision of the role negative forces play in the over all alchemy of transformation, of their almost absolute necessity as goads to make the creation progress. To envision events in this way to see them as part of a purposeful process; to see them as process is to eliminate the fear of their destructive manifestation, allowing us instead to focus on and participate in the inevitable Birth which will lead us into a new age of peace and harmony.

* "Christian" Reconstructionism

History: Christian Reconstructionism, Dominion Theology and Theonomy are not denominations or faith groups. Rather, they are interrelated beliefs which are followed by members of a wide range of Christian denominations. They have no connection at all to Reconstructionist Judaism, which is a liberal group within Judaism.

Generally speaking: Christian Reconstructionism arose out of conservative Presbyterianism in the early 1970's. Followers believe "that every area dominated by sin must be 'reconstructed' in terms of the bible." 1

Dominion Theology is derived from Genesis 1:26 of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament): "Then god said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.'" (NIV)

Most Christians interpret this verse as meaning that god gave mankind dominion over the animal kingdom. Dominion theologians believe that that this verse commands Christians to bring all societies, around the world, under the rule of the Word of god.

Theonomy (Greek for "god's Law") includes the concept that "god’s revealed standing laws are a reflection of His immutable moral character and, as such, are absolute in the sense of being nonarbitrary, objective, universal, and established in advance of particular circumstances (thus applicable to general types of moral situations)." 6,7 Thus, each of the 613 laws given to Moses and recorded in the Pentateuch (the first 5 books of the Hebrew Scriptures) are binding on people of all nations, cultures, and religions forever, except for those laws which have been rescinded or modified by further revelation. ...

... Its most common form, Theonomic Reconstructionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. The followers are attempting to peacefully convert the laws of United States so that they match those in the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of god" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of god's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it if it is properly presented to them. ... http://www.religioustolerance.org/reconstr.htm

Diebold's Political Machine

Political insiders suggest Ohio could become as decisive this year as Florida was four years ago. Which is why the state's plan to use paperless touch-screen voting machines has so many up in arms.

occer moms and NASCAR dads come and go, but swing states are always in fashion. And this year, Ohio is emerging as the most fashionable of the bunch. Asked recently about the importance of Ohio in this year's presidential campaign, one veteran of Buckeye State politics told Salon, "Ohio is the Florida of 2004."

That label sounds ominously accurate to the many who are skeptical of computerized voting. In addition to being as decisive as the 2000 polling in Florida, they worry this year's vote in Ohio could be just as flawed. Specifically, they worry that it could be rigged. And they wonder why state officials seem so unconcerned by the fact that the two companies in line to sell touch-screen voting machines to Ohio have deep and continuing ties to the Republican Party. Those companies, Ohio's own Diebold Election Systems and Election Systems & Software of Nebraska, are lobbying fiercely ahead of a public hearing on the matter in Columbus next week.

There's solid reason behind the political rhetoric tapping Ohio as a key battleground. No Republican has ever captured the White House without carrying Ohio, and only John Kennedy managed the feat for the Democrats. In 2000, George W. Bush won in the Buckeye State by a scant four percentage points. Four years earlier, Bill Clinton won in Ohio by a similar margin.

In recent years, central Ohio has been transformed from a bastion of Republicanism into a Democratic stronghold. Six of Columbus' seven city council members are Democrats, as is the city's mayor, Michael Coleman. But no Democrat has been elected to Congress from central Ohio in more than 20 years, and the area around Columbus still includes pockets where no Democrat stands a chance. One such Republican pocket is Upper Arlington, the Columbus suburb that is home to Walden "Wally" O'Dell, the chairman of the board and chief executive of Diebold. For years, O'Dell has given generously to Republican candidates. Last September, he held a packed $1,000-per-head GOP fundraiser at his 10,800-square-foot mansion. He has been feted as a guest at President Bush's Texas ranch, joining a cadre of "Pioneers and Rangers" who have pledged to raise more than $100,000 for the Bush reelection campaign. Most memorably, O'Dell last fall penned a letter pledging his commitment "to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President."

Never Say Die-bold: So You Don’t Think the Bush Campaign Stole This Election? Think Again

By Jackson Thoreau   opEdNews.com

If you’re looking for one word to sum up the way the Bush-Cheney campaign stole another election Tuesday besides obvious ones like “cheated,” try this one: Diebold.

An election judge where I voted Tuesday in a heavily Democratic precinct in Maryland knows what that means and wasn’t adverse to sharing his opinion of the Republican-owned company. As I was about to vote with the electronic system, I asked this judge if they had a way to check people’s votes through a paper backup.

The official said no, and then in a low voice so no one else would hear, added, “And that really makes us nervous, with Diebold as the owner of that system.”

Goodbye, hanging chads. Hello, computer fraud that leaves no trace, no chads hanging.

White House: Debt Ceiling Must Be Raised

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration announced Wednesday that it will run out of maneuvering room to manage the government's massive borrowing needs in two weeks, putting more pressure on Congress to raise the debt ceiling when it convenes for a special post-election session.

Treasury Department (news - web sites) officials announced that they will be able to conduct a scheduled series of debt auctions next week to raise $51 billion. However, an auction of four-week Treasury bills due to be completed on Nov. 18 will have to be postponed unless Congress acts before then to raise the debt ceiling.

"Due to debt limit constraints, we currently do not have the capacity to settle our four-week bill auction scheduled to settle on Nov. 18," Timothy Bitsberger, acting assistant Treasury secretary for financial markets, said in a statement.

Congress is scheduled to return for a lame-duck session beginning on Nov. 16 to deal with the debt ceiling, an omnibus spending plan for the rest of this budget year and other matters.

The Republican-controlled Congress put off dealing with the debt ceiling before adjourning in October, preferring not to force members to vote on the politically sensitive issue of adding to the national debt before the November elections.

The government hit the current debt ceiling of $7.384 trillion on Oct. 14, forcing Treasury to begin a series of bookkeeping maneuvers to keep financing the government's normal operations without breaching the debt ceiling. But Treasury Secretary John Snow has warned that those special measures would last only until mid-November.

The Treasury Department's actions have included reducing the amount of debt in government trust funds to free up room for further borrowing from the public. The nonpublic debt is then replaced in the trust funds once the debt ceiling is increased along with any lost interest payments.

Republicans have proposed that the debt ceiling be raised by $690 billion to $8.074 trillion, an amount that would get the government through next September, when the 2005 budget year ends.

The need to raise the debt ceiling reflects the record budget deficits of the past two years. The deficit for the 2004 budget year, which ended Sept. 30, was an all-time high of $413 billion, surpassing the old mark, in dollar terms, of $377 billion in 2003.

KERRY WON.
Here's the facts.
Thursday, November 4, 2004

I know you don't want to hear it. You can't face one more hung chad. But I don't have a choice. As a journalist examining that messy sausage called American democracy, it's my job to tell you who got the most votes in the deciding states. Tuesday, in Ohio and New Mexico, it was John Kerry.

Most voters in Ohio thought they were voting for Kerry. CNN's exit poll showed Kerry beating Bush among Ohio women by 53% to 47%. Kerry also defeated Bush among Ohio's male voters 51% to 49%. Unless a third gender voted in Ohio, Kerry took the state.

With all due respect, NOTHING will change unless we get rid of the evoting machines... NOTHING!

All the meditation, all the soul-searching, all the visualization, all the praying, all the hope, all the astrochart searching will not make a DAMN bit of difference. We did FANTASTIC on getting out the vote. We did INCREDIBLE on all the issues above. A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS VOTED FOR CHANGE... actually, elections ago. NOTHING will change unless we stop allowing the criminal repulsive evoting machines... with not even a paper trail. Your ATM at least gives you a receipt! HOW SMART OR SPIRITUAL IS THAT?!?!?!

The definition of insanity, some say, is doing the same old goddam thing over & over & over again, & expecting different results. Progressives!! STOP BEING INSANE & co-dependent!

DO start being "wise as serpents & gentle as doves!" DO get mad!... angry as you've ever been. DO look evil in the face without cringing. DO PULL THAT PUCKER STRING on the criminal's #1 method of grabbing power over us all no matter HOW much you pray!!

Keep repeating... I have your back... your message is dead-on right... it is the single most important thing we can do... and now... not tomorrow... not next week and CERTAINLY not 2006...

Some folks need to hear the phonograph player repeat over and over and over and over.........

I'm contacting local Dems and Progressives to meet and discuss how we will organize to have these cursed machines removed from our 370 precincts in the county, and simultaneously move on to the rest of the state...

It is nothing less than 'ballot box stuffing' as seen in the days of Democratic South... wrong is wrong... these same guys moved over to Repug party and now employ hi tech to do their dirty work... things change, but they stay the same... time for BIG CHANGE... out with the MACHINES...

Hi everybody. I've read this site for several months now and was horrified by the election results so I decided to post some ranting. First I think there is a strong posibility that this election was stolen, so maybe your predictions were not off at all. I worked with an astrology group in Atlanta and we came to the same conclusions about this election back in April I think- Kerry vs. Bush with Kerry win back when Kerry was underdog vs. Dean. Both www.infowars.com and www.prisonplanet.com have evidence in articles of a stolen election including the exit poll fiasco which lends evidence, the fact that 5 republican canditates in totally different states won by the same number of votes (18181 - a wierd number in itself), and evidence that where there was a paper trail the election results were in line with the exit polls, but wherever there were e-voting machines with no paper trail the election figures were 5% ahead for Bush above the exit polls. Then there is the fact that both Bush and Kerry were members of Skull and Bones so I think maybe Kerry was ordered to not fight. BTW in case anyone has forgotten, Tucumsah's curse still applies to Bush and with him winning a second term there is a significant chance of him falling to it. Anyhow, I didnt really believe Kerry was going to solve the nation's problems unlike many of you, because he was just another puppet for the cabal, but I do believe the Bush is the official candidate of the dark side while Kerry was sort of the closet candidate and if the official candidate of the dark side wins the election, something is very wrong either with the country or with the process. I'd havent made up my mind yet whether the election was rigged, but I was raised by a scorpio father, and frankly, I am very suspicious. He turned out to be right about a great many things.. Anyhow, we are moving into very dark times in any case. War with Iran is likely. I'd like someone to do some charts between Iran and U.S. so we can see what is next. Also I interpreted the retrograde Mars in the U.S. progressed chart for the end of this year meaning a draft and increased military type government, so we should see the beginning of that.

"News organizations promised Wednesday to look into why their Election Day exit polls showed an initial surge for John Kerry, but also blamed bloggers for spreading news that gave a misleading view of the presidential race."

News organizations blamming bloggers for their mistakes? Sounds a little fishy. Our corporate controlled media is no longer going to give us any idea what is really going on. The revolution will not be televised. I think everyone in the new age progressive movement should get together and discuss the next move. I believe its our responsibility to raise consciousness, even if we are ego laden and under shadow influences ourselves. Also I think its time we faced our own shadows as individuals, as I am preparing myself to do in my own life soon. The more people who are free from the illusion of the ego's version of reality the better. I think the underlying message of this election is that we need to face our shadow and elliminate it. This includes the new age movement, which I believe has always had the danger of being converted into the tool of the ego. Some say it already has and is lost in its current form. On a stranger note, there is something called the Morph that I have heard of recently, I was wondering if anyone reading the website had seen it. I think it has to do with the shift in consciousness. At least that's what those have seen it say about it. Its supposed to be like a swirly vortex of lights that appears in rooms and is stronger in some places than others, but is everywhere.

Human kind is being manipulated and this election was part of the manipulation. Bush's win just puts us on the fast road to hell. But I think there is a big lesson in this about the shadow. We need to stand up to the manipulation, we can't let this go on. I think we all need to look into ourselves and face our own darkness, and when that is done we should all get together and work consciously toward bringing the light out of darkness in the world system. I believe the Aquarian age will be built one soul at a time with the individual personal choices each soul makes about their own shadow and destiny. We are entering the time of decision where our choices will determine whether we ascend in consciousness or descend toward the abyss for a long time. I know which road I want to take, and I know the challenges that await me will be horryifing, because facing my darkness is scary. America is facing its darkness, and this is actually good. America WILL see the destructive tendencies of its shadow which is represented by the current Republican party with its corporate militarism and its petty fundementalist allies. America may have made this decision voluntarily, but I am telling everyone that even if this election was rigged, we can choose to do nothing or we can choose to commit ourselves toward a path of CHANGING OUR CONSCIOUSNESS and confronting our local band of closet nazis. We need to stand up. We need more protests and more visible action in the name of peace. There will be a new peace movement, because people will get sick of the dying. There will be new art, and I think protest art will come back. U.S. progressed sun has entered pisces, and I think now is the time to build spiritual roots for the New Age in this nation. No amount of words will make the need to take practical action go away, and frankly I've talked all my life, and I've made my commitment. I want to live in the New Age, and I am going to get there. Its going to be built one soul at a time. Im starting with the one closest to me(my own), I suggest everyone else do the same. The solution's not in the head, its in the heart. Don't listen to the head nazis like our poor country did this election. Thanks for letting me vent. Love, peace, and all that jazz.

You know the more I think about it (now that the initial shock has worn off and the sun is finally out), predictions of a Kerry win may have been more right than we know. Bush had a tremendous need to prove his legitimacy after 2000. A tiny little win like Florida in 2000 would not have been sufficient. We know they were worried because of their words and actions in the weeks leading up to the election, especially after the first debate. So based on those observations and their past behavior, I believe that it is entirely possible they rigged Ohio and Florida this time. They needed a decisive win. I've been avoiding the news for the most part yesterday and today but I am picking up little snippets here and there. I believe that there is going to be a power struggle as Nancy predicts. We may not know about it. But something is going to be happening. Remember, the Electoral College doesn't cast their final votes until next month.

Stand and Fight

One thing we can say for certain at this point, after the grieving, the anger, is that the country is still bitterly divided.

We saw two turnouts and Two Nations last night. Both sides of the chasm saw a major turnout of its voting base. Karl Rove talked about creating a permanent Republican majority. But the truth is, he has a divide-and-rule strategy. And the electoral college amplifies the rural, socially conservative vote. (Twenty percent of voters considered "moral values"--eleven states had anti-gay marriage ballots--more important than the economy or Iraq in this election.)

Perhaps more astonishing than the polling on the murky issue of morality (why aren't poverty and unjust war considered immoral?) are the figures reported in the New York Times: "Voters who cited honesty as the most important quality in a candidate broke 2 to 1 in Mr. Bush's favor..." The most mendacious Administration in American history won the honesty vote?

Progressives, who were on the defensive two years ago, added millions of new voters as well, and tapped a new energy and activism that will last far beyond November 2nd. The extremism and incompetence of this rightwing cabal has sharpened our focus to a razor's edge.

But for me, one of the fundamental questions about this campaign has been whether you could defeat a terrible but clear incumbent without a substantive policy alternative, and this time at least we couldn't. Kerry offered intelligence, a return to fiscal discipline, a bulwark against a rightwing court, and a health plan that few understood. He failed to use the moral message of "Two Americas" to erode Bush's edge. He mounted a late challenge to Bush's disastrous war in Iraq-- but he also talked about "staying the course." That wasn't enough of a coherent positive, populist or moral message to complement the impressive mechanics. We've got to build a politics of conviction, of passion and substance. It's there but it needs to be built and fought for. And the lesser lessons, if that's the big one, are:

As an astrologer on a liberal talk radio show, I was almost yelled at by being "wrong" about the election. I was right as saying Kerry had transiting Mars/Neptune conjunct his sun degree during the election which indicates failure. My host of the show was just angry about the results. I say to him and to all of you, I did not run to Canada in the early 70's. I resisted the draft here at home then and the hell I going to Canada now! Bush will pay for his deeds sooner or later. I then came to my senses when I realized that I am american and I will contiue to fight on the airwaves until they take me off!

Sally, thank you for opening my eyes to the idea of the interplay of energy. I've mostly lurked here for several months and have learned so much.

I continue to see this election as askirmish in the the Battle of the Ages. Rampant Christian fundamentalism has got to be the last gasp of Pisces, and the blackbox vote cheating has got to be a frontal assault on Aquarius. The people who worship Bush, who support him because he's "Christian" (yeah, a Christian who doesn't go to church and doesn't mind killing 100,000 innocent people), those people seem to want to stay in Pisces, while those of us who supported Kerry, who want to help humanity, who are appalled at the deceit and mayhem, we may have already moved into Aquarius. As I said yesterday, the U.S. progressed Sun moving out of Aquarius and into Pisces on Election Day has got to be significant if this is, indeed, a Battle of the Ages. Maybe it will take 30 years to work this out. It took the neocons 40 years to take over so completely.

With natal Sun, Moon, North Node and Saturn in Aquarius, and natal Mercury and Venus in Pisces - and on top of all that, Neptune transiting my Sun I may have a foot on both sides of the Age. I also may be full of it.

Finally, I have my doubts about Bush facing impeachment, at least before the 2006 election. Nixon had to face a Democratic Senate (and Republican senators who were honorable enough to tell him it was all over); Bush faces a Republican senate, house, court and press.

Posted on Salon:

My message to Bush voters everywhere really boils down to this: Be careful what you ask for. You might just get it.

As the PIPA survey showed, http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2004/10/21/bush_reality/ the difference between what Bush supporters believe about everything from Iraq to Bush's stand on economic, trade and environmental issues simply does not comport with objective reality. Take this for example:
"Majorities incorrectly assumed that Bush supports multilateral approaches to various international issues -- the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (69%), the treaty banning land mines (72%); 51% incorrectly assumed he favors US participation in the Kyoto treaty -- the principal international accord on global warming ... Only 13% of supporters are aware that he opposes labor and environmental standards in trade agreements -- 74% incorrectly believe that he favors including labor and environmental standards in agreements on trade. In all these cases, there is a recurring theme: majorities of Bush supporters favor these positions, and they infer that Bush favors them as well."

For the last forty years the right wing has sponsored think tanks and talking heads. They have infiltrated the government, the schools and the churches and have acheived a level of penetration and control that many people, especially those at the head of the Democratic Party, simply refused to recognize.

In the days and weeks and months ahead the people who voted for Bush thinking that he really did have their best interests at heart are going to be given exactly what they asked for even though they didn't know what that was. We'll see increasing econominc insecurity, at least a partial privatization of Social Security (which will agains serve to make the rich richer and the poor poorer), courts packed with Federalist Society types who are determined to roll back the clock on basic rights in everything from privacy to basic civil liberties and a full throated embrace of an essentially theocratic http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/11/3/92359/8844 agenda.

Will Bush supporters like the reality of what they have wrought as much as they liked the idea? Will they be happy to see their sons and daughters die on foreign soil to enforce a PNAC agenda of US global hegemony? Will they embrace the night and fog? http://context.themoscowtimes.com/stories/2004/09/10/120.html

We are now a very dangerous nation, the most powerful in the world, led by very dangerous men. The America I grew up in and the radical right reactionary America I find myself in today are not the same country. We're in trouble and it's going to take as long to get out of it as it did to get in it. The next three or four decades are not going to be pleasant for the 49% of us that voted for somebody else.

This US sun going into Pisces thing does not provide me any comfort. Claudia Dikinis has warned about this in the past. While Uranus' move into Pisces has no doubt manifested differently over the ages, I am concerned about a repeat of what happened in Germany in the '30s. Can anyone clarify or pursue this further (who's an expert, I mean)?

Sally, in one of your previous articles, you said, I believe, that if Bush was stole it again, he would only serve for 6 months or so. It might have been Eliz. Ganeh - I'm not sure. If it was you, Sally, can you tell us which article that was?

Have gone through physical shock, sleeping pills, deep anger and tears to complete exhaustion and a dazed, half-awake state right now. I teter between a helium tank and brass knuckles. I want these fuckers in jail.

And when John Kerry says, "I've got your back," - you can believe they are not done yet.

two missed themes critical to victory:

--hit vote fraud, diebold and other voting machine company republican connections VARY HARD, VARY OFTEN;

--say it's time to leave iraq asap and stress that this THE PATRIOTIC POSITION.

we need someone with the gumption and fight of harry truman. if you look at truman's statements when he confronted the republicans back then, they were extremely tough. no minced words.

i believe that the kerry campaign was to concerned about 'negative politics' to truly engage on the vote fraud issue. it's not some skull and bones conspiracy either. a poster at DU debunked this clearly when he said: "if kerry was going to blow it on purpose, why would he use bush as a takling dummy in the debates?" this was the only fair media of the entire campaign and kerry was clearly going for the win. his campaign was simply not tough enough.

wv, 'you told me so' w/regard to the sylvia brown article. i remember reacting strongly to that but it was the correct call. of course, it's kinda like predicting the winner of a professional wrestling match. i suspect that she, on some level, knew that this was the task! still have trouble w/people 'talking to dead people' for profit but what the heck, i don't know here and she seems like a good sort.

Astrological inquiry: Was just over at Astrodatabank reading current comments on John Kerry's chart. The argument continues about Kerry's rising sign. One has proposed a Libra Rising with a 3:08 AM? birth time which would change his rising to Libra. He arrived at this by Horary method. Says this better explains what happened in the election. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Second Inquiry: Another person in that forum (I believe she calls herself LUNA but I can't swear to that) who correctly called the election for Bush left a post saying that as long as Saturn is in Cancer the Repubs will not lose. She also put forth that when Saturn passes through Leo that the R's will grow in strength. Any thoughts on this as well?

Thanks for your patience with me through all my nit-picky ways. Maybe it is my Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars and N.N. in the 9th that makes me over invest in political candidates. I get really pissy when things don't look like they are working out the way I know they need to....have to work on that. I do always tend to take my own opinion far to seriously. Never meant to offend anyone. Just a bull in a china shop....that's me!

Best to all.

Marjorie Orr has updated her analysis of Bush:

ASTRO HEADLINES : Update November 3 2004.
Bush’s election victory into a second term as President of a highly divided nation has now been declared. Looking ahead it’s difficult to see him as anything other than a lame duck leader with Saturn heading for his ascendant in September 2005 and then down into a low profile, low achievement first quadrant in the years thereafter. His performance may have seemed less than competent to date and that was with Saturn flying high. Worse will be to come. He’ll find his motivation and physical energy lower than before, his ambitions waning and the pressures of high office more irksome as the next few years proceeds.

There will be two key influences in 2005. One will be Uranus opposing Mars from his eighth house in April, August 2005 and February 2006. This tends to throw up sudden events causing great insecurity which will tempt him into macho gestures of reaction to prop up his self esteem. Mars and Uranus are an explosive combination, sometimes literally, certainly accident prone, but also hasty and prone to bad judgements. Since the 2nd and 8th houses are involved money may well be one arena in which the drama will play out, but it could also bring risky or downright dangerous experiences since the 8th house is involved. The other influence is Saturn, conjunct his ascendant and then Mercury and Pluto in Leo in quick succession through September and October 2005, repeating in December 2005, January, June and July 2006. This will be discouraging, dent his image and public popularity, make him feel gloomy and stuck. From late 2006 to mid 2007 Saturn transits and reverses over his Venus making him feel unloved. As his Presidency draws to a close in late 2007 Saturn will starting to transit his 2nd house for two years – bad for money, irritable, pushing him into his unresolved psychological issues. This will be his nadir.

From the more minor influences, 2005 also looks to be a confused, undermining, panicky year with not much focus or concentration. Neptune will trine his Moon, making him overly sensitive, low in physical energy, wanting to withdraw from too much aggravation. There will be panics as Pluto squares Mars/Neptune through December 2004, repeating again in late June to early August, October and November 2005. This tends to accompany cunning and deceitful behaviour, disasters caused through water, brutal damage. His energy levels will be low at this time and he’ll feel paralyzed, unable to motivate himself into gear. Pluto also trines Sun/Neptune and Mars/Pluto, Mercury/Mars from mid February to mid May and in December 2005 and again July to early November 2006. This will bring chaotic conditions, perhaps scandal, illness, weakness, calamities and disasters, tough conditions and high irritability. His Jupiter/Saturn midpoint, always a career indicator, is also being rattled by a Uranus opposition in 2005 in March, late September to end of October, December to early January 2006. This tends to bring strong emotional tensions, sudden change in circumstances, maybe damage to houses or cars. His health will again be affected.

Uranus is from February 2004 for several years moving into his 8th house bringing instability to business finances and highly strung emotional reactions, less psychological balance. Jupiter moves into his 3rd for a year in September bringing enthusiasm to a busy everyday schedule and more eloquence in speaking.

pat, focus on this indeed. you rock.

anne and others it is very risky following the gloating of those who predicted a 'coin toss' at best or a rigged election at worst. if they go on to say, 'well, we were right about bush, now look at what we have to say' we need to stand back and be critical. it was, in all liklihood rigged. therefore, subsequent predictions based about being 'right about the winner' are a continuation of the same flawed reasoning.

i WISH i could remember it, but some good astrologer commented on how roosevelt's chart looked bad at several key electoral points during his four runs for president. this is worth keeping in mind. horary astrology is much harder than individual consultations because you have, in this case, about 120 million variables just looking at the people involved.

do not get frightened into believing that the people who 'called' this joke 'right' are, in fact, right. if there was fraud, then their call was wrong. in that case, a correction of the fraud will change everything.

Elizabeth Edwards Has Breast Cancer

Talked with some friends of mine this morning who've been involved (some heavily) with politics in one way or another for many years and they all agreed that Kerry (who one friend said was "incredibly crafty ... makes Rove look like a little girl") and Edwards (another friend said he had "heaping amounts of ambition") have something up their sleeve and they all wouldn't be surprised if Kerry shocks the Nation and the World by very publicly recanting his Concession armed with clear evidence of voter fraud ... enough to change the current Electoral Count.

They all, like me, had a hard time squaring his concession with what they know of him.

Guess we'll have to wait and see! With Uranus going Direct on the 11th, perhaps it'll involve the Diebold machines and their computer "votes"?

Arafat Reported Clinically Dead; PM Denies

Reuters | Nov 4, 2004

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Palestinian President Yasser Arafat was declared clinically dead on Thursday in a French hospital, Israeli television said citing French sources.

But Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurie denied the report, saying: "I have just spoken to the officials in Paris and they say the situation is still as it was. He is still in the intensive care unit."

Israel's Channel Two television cited unnamed sources in Paris saying that Arafat underwent a brain scan and was found to be "no longer alive."

Palestinian sources earlier told Reuters that the Palestinian president, who was admitted to hospital last week with a mysterious stomach illness, had slipped into a coma.

Never a dull moment.

Something finally gave me a giggle.

The report above that 5 republicans in 5 different states won by 18,180 votes each.

laughing. Some republican programmer, and probably a young un, got lazy and just repeated the same number.

Now that's funny.

But it would be even better if the poster could name the states for us and the names of the candidates so we could publicize it, if true.

Posted by: Pallas18 on November 4, 2004 06:33 PM

Pallas, I can't remember where, but years ago, probably studying numerology, the 1818 number came up as the perfect number (always = 9) and related to Christ. I also saw that number on some right wing websie. One of the talking heads on MSNBC during the convention and election who is an ex actor advertized that site. I wish I had the url, but I didn't investigate.

Small world.

Posted by: Pat C on November 4, 2004 07:04 PM

Without going into Roosevelts chart, he did have bad aspects and nearly lost his last election. But this is not about any candidates chart, this is not about Bush. I highly recommend reading the Daily Kos article Pat C references above. This is a coup and it's about America and Pluto in the 1st House (Sagittarius) of the US chart now poised to oppose and square the natal Mars/Neptune Square in the US chart. Neptune is in pristine Virgo in the 9th house of the US chart, and the 9th house relates to religion as does Sagittarius, with Neptune squaring Mars that's religious activitism (amoung other things) and it is being "activated."

The question was asked if the right wing would want their children dying for this President and the answer is yes, because they don't believe they are dying for their country or politics, they believe they are dying for God. It's the evangelicals version of winning "100 virgins in heaven." Bush told us in the beginning this was a "crusade" and for them it is and from their perspective, whether they stole the election or not, doesn't matter, it was all in the name of their concept of God and Jesus Christ. There have been more lives sacrificed in the Name of God by mankind throughout the ages than anything else. This looks like Hitler, but it is another chapter of the Dark Ages and the Crusades, not 1936 Germany.

No way through this but through this and it will be their war for God and they will do all they can to make sure everyone in this country is on board.

I did say he would not last more than 6 to 8 months because of the Saturn return to his chart and Uranus opposing his Mars, progressed Sun, squaring volitile US Uranus and the Inaugural Moon that conjuncts the US Uranus. 9 degrees Gemini is known as the nuclear degree and how many times has Bush and Cheney said "nuclear." That energy could be used to take him out or to drop an atom bomb anywhere in the world. These people are after the Rapture. One thing for sure, his insanity is going to be out there for us to see.

There was a story of a man who killed someone because he didn't like his answer about God, expect more of that kind of thing. This isn't about God or Jesus, this is about a specific vision of God, think Crusades, think the Spanish Inquisition, a loving all encompassing God does not figure into the equation for these people. Tolerance doesn't figure into their beliefs and they are committed to making all of America fit into their beliefs and they are happy to sacrifice anything they have for it. That's GWB's base and it appears to be a fairly large base.

Senator Chaffey is considering shift to the Democratic Party, I hope he does and I hope the other Republican moderates seriously consider the same thing.

Someone posted above kindly that I was venting.

I have to tell you, I was not. I'm not shocked, I'm not angry except at John Kerry, I'm not grieving over the loss of the election..but maybe a bit over the loss of America, I'm not depressed, and I'm not sad. I'm an action oriented person and I plan and take action .

Yes Sally, a one party system (as James Carville predicted way before the election) is also called
"totalitarian" and/or a dictatorship.

Someone on line a couple of months ago was researching different countries to move to - with the thought in mind that this administation would close the borders to Americans wanting to leave.

As a matter of fact the administration has even planned for it. If you are an American living and earning in another country - you owe America taxes.

I wonder if America is collecting taxes on the jobs they have outsourced to India, China, Vietnam etc. Highly unlikely. That would raise the corporations costs.

In any case, I want to repeat the post I put at the very last of the previous AW article. It's not venting. I think it's stating something that needs to be heard.

Repeat:
Dear Fellow Astroworlders,

I'd like to thank you all for being who and what
you are. The level of intellect found here is
always a homecoming.

Siobhan, Judi, Bushfatigued, thank you.

Jonathan-but that what you hope for could be true.

Where is Sharon Katz - and why haven't we heard from her? Sharon, come join us.

The talk of Dr. Dean is interesting. You might say we here are already preparing the "resistance"-but if I do any resisting and if I can swing it, I think it will be from outside of this country, and joining the rest of the world in opposition to what the US has become:
a dangerous place for free thinkers, idealists, truth seekers, and opponents of this administration.

Although my plans are not fully formulated, they're floating around ...

If the beast has accomplished 1/2 the destruction of the Constitution and all social programs in the last 4 years, think of what he'll be able to do in the next four with "a mandate" from fixed voting machines. Yes. I truly believe that.

Pluto on the personality and structure of the US
bodes no good. I have been watching it for several years and thinking that. Pluto in Sagittarius, as I have thought and posted, meaning a change in our laws and societal structure could not be for the better, since we have been the ideal of the world.

As long as we have the internet, it won't matter where we are...we can still affect a resistance.

The danger is that other countries will cave in and go along to get along. I have been listening to BBC and French news. I don't speak French but it is not hard to understand words like "tragedy".

An elderly voter stopped to talk to me at the polls. He was telling me how he was visiting his son in Buffalo, and his son said, "C'mon, we'll go across the border and get flu shots for you and Mom". They went to a clinic in Canada, no long waiting lines, no problems, no shortage of flu vaccine. The doctor made a comment about what the US was doing concerning the Flu vaccine..a negative comment. How could there be no shortage in Canada but no flu vaccine for the elderly in the U.S. ?

Here's my terrible thought. I never met one of my grandmothers. She died in 1918 in the flu epidemic.

Have you noticed how the US never interferes in genocides in countries of color like Rwanda and Darfhur? Undesirables in the Uber society category.

The elderly are undesirables to the Bush administration. They cost too much money. They expect and demand the social programs which they have been promised since FDR's days. Less elederly, less expenditure on Social Security and medicare, more money for tax cuts to bushbuds. No need to put the aged out on floating icebergs. Just allow flus and ailments to flourish without healthcare and nature will cut costs.

Terrible thoughts, but one has to think like a Rovian and Bush to understand possible motives and actions of a criminal administration.

The question to ask is never what. It is always
"why".

We have to begin thinking of the reality - the nightmare continues - and deepens. Personal safety first. In case you haven't noticed, there is not one of us who post here who would not be categorized as a "dissident".

We have been G-8'd and now our voting has been black bagged CIA'd - as the Bush's have done across this planet and most usually in South American countries.

We have made comparisons to Hitler's 1938 again and again...words that didn't sink in. The reality
is sinking in.

If you are black, hispanic, or a "dissident" (liberal) I think you/we are the expendable Jews, Gypsies and mental "defects" in this country comparable to 1938's. Google and read FEMA. Many Jews survived because they got out before the German borders were closed.

Identity cards anyone? Mental health tests of every American? ( I assume they're going to skip the Bush family)

My Haitian friend, a highly intelligent educated chemical engineer who re-located here from Canada, and whom I find to have a great deal of wisdom, has quietly said "this will not be a good place to be within a year". He expects Southern Florida to get payback from the administration for its voting. He has 4 boys and a girl. He has not decided where to move, but he is planning on moving. Lucky man. He kept the dual citizenship for himself and his family.

There have been predictions of mass migrations at the end of the last century and the beginning of this one - and we have seen some, usually in Africa of millions fleeing persecution by other tribes. It's just that I never thought we'd see it in this country.

Posted by: Pallas18 on November 4, 2004 07:11 PM

Pallas,
I say this in love, but I give up! I am the one who referred to your venting, and I was attempting to be kind, and I was referring NOT to the post you reposted above, but to an earlier one on the last thread... I do apologize for suggesting you were venting and so many others of us have done. I am beginning to believe you and I do not speak the same language. Again, I thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. Namaste

Mike

When I posted the Syliva Brown prediction it wasn't because I had a lot of faith in her, in
fact I really don't like her. It was a news snippet so I put it out. I really did get clobbered for it, not that I mind, and yesterday's
post wasn't meant to be "I told you so".
As for Kerry, he was not my first choice. Both
Kuchinch and Nader are closer to my thinking. I
really believe that Clinton was a Republican, and
the DLC should be disbanded. It is long past the
time to let more parties in - basically there is
not much difference between Republicans and Democats as far as party philosphy goes. The people who participate on this site are more to the left than the parties. All politicians in this
country today are bought by International Corporations, right down to the local level. We
MUST open up the system so that everyone has a
voice. Most of the country still does not vote -
maybe we should make a law that voting is mandatory. And let's get some of those machines
they use in Venezuala - the International Montors
say they are much better than the ones used in Florida. I hope you noticed that a Republican Congressman told them to mind their own business
and get on a plane. They were invited by the State
Department.
As a man on Democracy Now said today that the more
the country goes to the Right the more the Press
goes to the Right. Reagan turned back the Fairness
Doctrine with the help of a Democatic Congess.
Clinton and the Democrats helped the Gingrich gang
to steal the public's airwaves, so that all broadcast networks are controlled by the likes of
GE, Viacom, Disney, Murdoch, AOL/Time-Warner all
of which are profit motivated and want even more.
Murdoch and Viacom (CBS) are already over the legal limit. Clear Channel has over 150 radio
stations, most of them run from Dallas with no
local news. Clear Channel is also a heavy investor
in Broadway, where it backs shows of the lowest
common denominator. All of them appeal to the
lowest common denominator. Our culture is crap -
and it is our biggest export to the world. I can't
stand it on our own airwaves, imagine how it is to
a native Laplander, Arab, African, Javanese. Bush
says they hate our freedom. BS - they hate our
intrusion in their culture.
I voted reluctanly for Kerry, and I am not disappointed that he lost. It will be fun watching
the boomerang karma on Bush and his Christian coalition. The Senate has just got 4 more kooks
that are off the wall by civilized standards. Kerry would have never had a chance with these idiots. DeLay is still in control of the House.
These people have no morals. I hadn't realized
until yesterday that the election was all about
morals - Christian morals - to wit:

It doesn't matter if 100,000Iraqis are dead-50%
of whom are women and children.

We haven't even counted how many are dead in
Afghanistan - they are collateral damage.

Christians feel it is okay to spread depleted uranium around Bosnia, Iraq and Afghantistan -
with a shelflife of 4.5 billion years.

Christians feel it is right to move into the
settlements of the West Bank, mistreat the Palestinians and try to hasten Armageddon.

Christians feel it's ok trash therights of
American Indians, blacks, latinos and gays.

I intend to spend the next four years exposing
these SOBs.

Here in West Virginia they sent out mailers
saying that if you vote Democratic you would lose
your bible. I think whoever sent that out should
be brought to trial and be made to prove it. I
learned yesterday that Karl Rove had been in the
business of creating and mailing brochures before
he got into politics.

They have prayer meetings everymorning at the
White House. But we can't find out who exposed
ValeriePlame, who was on Cheney's Energy Commission. A White House full of Christian lawbreakers.

These are just a few examples of the Christian
morals that won the election.

God spare us.

WV you are the greatest, I feel exactly as you do. I am going to spend my free time exposing this insanity and it is insanity and I think that's why it's been so hard to get a grip on the problems. I think that's why Kerry had such a hard time. The brainwashing has been far more extensive than I realized.

Posted by: Sally on November 4, 2004 07:50 PM

Had lunch with my Dad. We are waiting for news of his sister who is 94 and dying, and a brother-in-law married to his younger sister who is also dying.

Tried my best to stay off the subject of politics. Have seen the prospect of several older folk in my family leaving at once in my chart for some time now. But my Dad is feeling the impact of siblings leaving, children living far away. I soon will be the only one on the East Coast with him. He is suffering on another level... can't understand why the one child of his flesh he could always count on to think rationally has lost her mind and does not see how GWB is the man and the only man who can steer the ship of state. [that's me of course] So while I chatter about everything in the world besides politics, he drives straight for it. He unloaded a truckload of dirt he had picked up from Faux Noos about Kerry's unpatriotism... I was silent for minutes. Then he prodded. I said Kerry's activities were distorted by the opposition... that he had every right as a veteran to speak against the war, that GWB didn't go to Viet Nam, my brother did... he then immediately interjected to tell me, "Yes, and your brother came back a basket case" and I said yes, because of the same horrors he experienced seeing as JFKerry did... he took a deep breath, and I went on to say that GWB was aligned with the Saudis, that he had failed to go after OBL and instead zoomed in on Iraq. My Dad then said "you and I are worlds apart on this... so we need to never again speak of it." I quietly said yes, that's what I have tried to tell you for 18 months, that we should not discuss it.

But that is where this nation is... split down the middle --- families torn apart by this administration... Maureen Dowd speaks to it perfectly in her column today. Dubya feeds on the division. And upthread some speak to the "Christian" crusade etc. As we pulled from the parking lot a huge bus (bigger than a Greyhound) with the name of a local baptist church plastered across it passed in front of us. Dad looked at the bus, then at me and softly said, that's what beat you (meaning Kerry). You see he has always taken comfort that I am not a fundie like my siblings... and he clearly sees the 'Christian' thing... but he can't wrap his mind around the package the Repugs have wrapped Democrats in ... we went on to talk about keeping the calendar free for funerals to be announced and other arrangements, and parted fondly and with love.

I bring these comments because this is the problem we have... the division. My fundie sister is twelve years younger, more of a daughter to me really than a sister. It's hard to admit to myself but I know that if the next few weeks bring evidence of fraud, even strong evidence that links it to Rove, GWB... it will be OKAY with her because they did it for 'Jesus'!!! So, in that respect, this is different from the election of Nixon just before Watergate burst open. Nixon was not God's 'son'... The fundies' god is not the early Christian god of the father, son and holy ghost... it is a god of wrath and vengence...

The sign Pisces? Some on this board are suggesting it ties to 'Christ'. I question that. I think it is about the ideal, the spiritual... the early Christians adopted the sign of the fish. So there's a distinction here. Pisces was already here, when the 'Christians' came. Small distinction perhaps, but one nevertheless that might be factored in when looking at aspects or influences of this present movement. I myself see nothing 'Christian' or 'Christ ('anointed one') like about it.

Some believe America is in the throws of a civil (nothing 'civil' about it!) war... can we do a chart on that? What date would we use? Just some musings, in case you don't have anything else to chart!

Jo, when I get some time I will. I did an article on the Civil War three or four years ago, I will try to find it and build on that. Sorry about your dad and I know about the "fundies" my sister and brother-in-law and all their kids are "fundies." It's been frightening to watch them sink into this insanity over the last 30 years. My father and mother died never understanding how my sister fell into this obsession, my brother and I don't understand it today. But I do know there is and has been a sustained fanaticism that is frightening and seemingly impossible to penatrate with any kind of reason.

I hope your father is ok, and be glad you are close by.

Pallas18, Well -- both your latest post (7:11 pm) and Sally's echo my darkest vision of how this will evolve. Sally - I'm sure there are differences of nuance, but to me, Nazi Germany and Europe during the Inquisition are equally dark.

One of the topics I have done some deep research on was eugenics. If you read "Deja Vu" at winterboy.com you know that the folks who make up the present administration [the individuals and their families] are really very committed to the elimination of less desirable elements of society.

Powerful Americans during the twenties and thirties were very enamored of the eugenics movement long before Hitler actually put it into action. Only ten years ago (during the welfare reform movement?) Charles Krauthammer (if memory serves, he's the author - otherwise it's someone whose name isn't coming to mind right now) lamented that Americans would not accept the "ultimate solution" to deal with the so-called dilution of America's gene pool. He supported the removal of social supports for those identified as unsuitable - ethnic minorities, the poor, the mentally ill - so as to let them die off, something he felt Americans WOULD tolerate since it would not be as overt as Hitler's extermination project.

Anyway....dark times, indeed.

wv, that's such an excellent post. You nailed it.

Posted by: Pat C on November 4, 2004 08:09 PM

wv, Sally, Morgana, et. al - how do we go about exposing the insanity? The "brainwashed" see any attempt to show them the truth as an attack and put up a shield of denial, which appears to shut down all cognitive processes - ok, maybe a little hyperbolic - but you get my drift.

The mainstream media WON'T do it, and now they are out there trying to discredit us (the blogosphere).

Not trying to rain on parades here -- just needing help to see the possiblities that are eluding me right now.

Blessings, KM

Dear Jo,

no apology necessary and no offense taken.Don't give up. :)

We probably have mercury square mercury or neptune or some such thing....

I merely want to point out, that I am not jesting.

Sometimes when I write an astrological column, I write with a joking sarcasm but the underlying message is serious.

Now I am writing with dire warning, and as Sally has so well expressed above, "There was a story of a man who killed someone because he didn't like his answer about God, expect more of that kind of thing."

I received a phone call a couple of hours ago from a co-campaign worker. She asked did I see Colin Powell on tv. He is asking for Republican volunteers to help America. Help America what? Can you imagine the freeper types running around
"helping" America? Report on Mommy and Daddy and neighbors. Ashcroft's wet dreams. Now what does that remind you of ?

I'm too old to hide in cellars or Anne Frank it.
And my knees won't walk mountains or miles. :)

Pat,

thank you for your confidence. Perhaps a few well placed words to the right person might affect a change. As we have seen, the government will rid itself of an inappropriate second in command before going after the first.

I'm tired . I'm physically achy and tired. A few days of rest and I'll be rabble rousing again.
Would that I could change the world with a few well placed words to the right ears.

Sally,

Pluto squaring the US Mars/Neptune - yummy. Massive poisoning and brainwashing.

And yes the nuclear degree, which I've thought of.
That's also poisoning. Since Osama always gives a hint in his home movies, did anyone else take notice that he didn't call NYC, New York City but
called it Manhattan? Like the Manhattan project came to my mind. Welcome to bushworld. The fundies and their man want armageddon and by all means let them have it. They deserve it. At least the world will be rid of them.

On the other hand, we have seen that the FBI, CIA and real conservatives and republicans are not fond of dimson and crew, and have been leaking like all get out. Their criticisms and leaks didn't work...if we're lucky, they'll find a way to remove the cancer from the presidency.

Jonathan,

I wish that what you say goes from your mouth to the Universe's ears...Uranus direct could be the surprise that Kerry won by electoral and/or popular vote...but so what. I truly doubt that he'll take action.

And don't forget, if he were to, he has very poor health aspects, as I posted before, around inauguration day - health matters that might be kept secret. Chemo treatments? the man had prostate cancer and had an operation, one week off the campaign trail, and then back on.

I'm sorry to hear about Elizabeth Edwards. She's a fantastic intelligent accomplished woman.

Could Kerry's health and hers be the reason for the abdication of responsibility to us?

Lucy, Shylurker,
You make me Laugh and I sure as he** need some laughs.

Just a little fluff:
I spent the morning with a client, a very wealthy lady. Her home is in the millions and her expensive cars are all shiny and new. (Believe me, I have nothing against such wealth, because most of my clients are wealthy, and I sure wouldn’t turn down the lotto on principal).
I have been working with her for about a month and she always has Fox News blaring. Well, today I just wasn’t in the mood or state of mind because before I knew it out of my (usually professional and composed mouth) literally roared “ COULD YOU PLEASE, FOR GOD SAKE, TURN THAT DAMN BUNCH OF SLIME SPEWING SWINE OFF!) It didn’t sound like me at all, I sounded like something from the exorcist . . . “I was having an Ally McBeal moment”. It was like she had been shocked with a bolt of lightening because she literally JUMPED UP AND RAN over to the television and obediently turned off that blaring box. Gaining my composure, I continued my conversation with her as if nothing had happened and for the remainder of the time I was in her home we both acted as if everything was just normal.

As I left her palatial home and walked to my car, a big smile emerged, (the first in the last day and ˝) . . . God, I was starting to get really angry . . . a good sign. I knew I was starting to recover from the shock and despair of a stole election and stolen hopes and dreams. I whipped out my cell phone and called my son and left him a message. “Love, I will not let those election stealing nazis take my soul or take you to fight their hateful wars, I will fight for you like I have fought for you my whole life, even if it means my life” Hoorah! I’m on the mend. “(Just wonder what “Rich Republican lady actually thought”) . . . Hope she doesn’t fire me. Oh well

Think I'm developing a bit of JoannaOregon and Pallas18 spine-Now thats a good thing~SN

SOME THOUGHTS AFTER THE ELECTION

Some peculiar things have happened after the Big Heartbreak of 2004. I've done plenty of reflecting on the 'why's' and the 'how's'. I've also burned up some brain power on the burning 'what next'.

I've gone through the gamut of feelings, of course very similar to many of the posts here. Anger, wanting to place the blame on someone & something. One post that stands out was from the previous thread, "Bush will never face the karma of his sins". I could really identify with that one.

As a nation, we are more divided than ever before. This may not necessarily be a bad thing. We came to a fork in the road a long time ago. Many of us made an alliance with our conscience to be true to ourselves, come what may. After all, I have to die with myself. We're looking across the chasm, to see the "other half" of this country which is pursuing its own ends.

The day after the election, my boss came into my office and leaned very close to my face and whispered, "John Kerry is about to give his concession speech". I felt the dagger go in and twist around. Later that afternoon, he consummated his revenge on me by turning up the volume on John Kerry's speech so I would not fail to hear every word.

My thoughts are now turning inward. I can feel my psychic energy which has been outward-focused for such a long time turn its rays toward me. I've been worried about my party, my country, the world and the Middle East. We've done our best, to be sure. My thanks go out to all who have fought in the trenches to save our democracy.

So what happened? Since we can't seem to get rid of Bush, maybe we should focus on why he's there. For a while, I wasn't sure if he was human. I saw the photos of the mysterious box on his back.

There's a strange feeling that NOTHING touches this man. He's the real-life equivalent of comic book Evil Guys that just can't be defeated. He even has the power to outwit the planets; winning with a Saturn return, no less.

I believe he has materialized as this country's Nemesis, the Average Joe's Bad Karma. As long as we are involved in taking assets from other countries, we will continue to lose here at home.

When we steal from others, we will ourselves be stolen from. Now, I'm not saying it's all us: this is a shared responsibility. It's the government 55% and the rest of us 45%.

We have a responsibility to learn to live with less, but politicians need to stop making us dependent on petroleum exclusively.

The shame of it is, we the more enlightened beings are doing all the suffering, and they're exempt......for the moment.

However......give this administation 4 more years, and Joe Six-Pack may feel differently. We all know that social programs are right now being laid across the guillotine. The hair is being brushed out of the way. As Joe Average's standard of living spirals steadily downhill, he may start to wonder, like I did on Wednesday, "what happened?".

The last Sacred Cow, Social Security, will be saved for later. Geriatric Joe starts to look forward to his Golden Age, he dreams of visiting State Parks in his RV which gets 18 m.p.g.

His face turns ashen white as he realizes there won't be any Golden Years. The fund is gone. The US's credit rating has gone down the toilet because our ability to borrow has been exhausted. The rest of the world simply cannot continue to fund us.

As my gaze continues to turn inward, I realize that I need to take care of myself for the time being. I see disaster down the road. And maybe that's exactly what's needed.

We need to become more independent in our thinking from here on out. Not in "every man for himself" but definitely weaning ourselves from the Social Programs Spigot because it's about to run dry.

Thank you for letting me vent. I love sharing in the vibrations here. You're all awesome.

Posted by: Cliss on November 4, 2004 08:33 PM

To quote Pat C - "Starrynights/SN!!! Awesome."

I was just reflecting on what you wrote. Perhaps that is how it will happen for us, one by one, as we find our voice. We'll "channel" truth (in my mind I'm seeing similarity to channeling Reiki).

Thanks for sharing your experience here!

On the spectre of one-party government, here's some historical perspective, if I may:

We've effectively had one-party government before: from right after the Civil War up to the Depression, we had mostly Republicans in charge of all three branches of government. The Democrats had the South back then, but they didn't have the votes, and they were still seen as the people who seceded the Union. And the period from 1870-1930 was when Democratic power first grew in the cities, with the help of machine bosses and immigrants.

In all that time--60 years--there were only 2 Democratic presidents (Cleveland and Wilson), and only a few periods when Democrats controlled Congress. The two-party system, at the time, was called the "one-and-a-half party sytem," with the Democrats being the "half" party, every bit as disorganized as it is now. As Will Rogers said, "I belong to no organized party--I'm a Democrat." Only the Depression and the New Deal changed things: not the level of organization, so much as the balance of power.

Yes, things look pretty bleak now; there is the push by Karl Rove and others for one-party government, and I have read articles predicting the demise of the Democratic Party. However, if history is any indication, these reports of its demise may be a little premature. Besides, there's still at least 48 per cent of us who didn't support this President, and don't now.

One astrological cavaet, if I may: isn't Bush having his Jupiter return now? With it comes optimism, exuberance, and rewards that you don't necessarily earn. Can't it also bring overreaching? Contrary to what Marjorie Orr is saying, Bush seems to be very ambitious in laying out his agenda for the next term...

Pat,

THANKS! Of course.

"18,180 = Computer code for bugs which are used for DISABLING SPECIAL FUNCTIONS"

----hmmmm....like programming every fifth vote/name of Kerry to fall down a black hole....resulting in a 5% overage for dimson?

Bev Harris might be interested in these 5 republicans who won by 18,180 computer bug code.

Why don't you give her a shout?

The bug would be that special_function_p checks function names at all.

We have at least three different methods of applying special properties to
functions based on their names: built-in functions with attributes,
special_function_f and cp/cfns.gperf. We should subsume the latter two in
the first. See projects/beginner.html. The special handling may be
needed to generate correct code in some cases such as setjmp, so disabling
the special handling without first having an attribute allowing it to be
reenabled for particular declarations is not a good solution.

I would advise following the usual procedures for contributing (see
contribute.html) to discuss the issues on gcc-patches and work through
getting a patch for bug 14411 into GCC. That is necessary to solve the
issues for bug 14411. It would be best to do a series of patches, one for
each attribute (discussed and revised as necessary) followed by one
replacing the special_function_p handling with use of that attribute
(including fixincludes work as necessary).

Pat C, I believe some fundies use the number 888 as the number related to Jesus. See here:

http://www.greaterthings.com/Word-Number/Methods/888/

The Fundie whirlwind has already started here with churches holding huge election celebration rallies at the usual Wed night meetings. At my husband's workplace four people showed up with a huge "Victory" cake festooned with red/white/blue balloons and the American flag. My husband refused to participate and cited his idea of celebrating 4 more years of war and lies and insanity and more people dying across the world because of our inhumanity to others was greated with shock, one even telling my husband that if he voted for Kerry he was voting for Bin Laden! After listening to these people, all of whom are intelligent and hold rather big jobs, go on about "winning" this war by killing all the "evil doers" , and one man even suggesting that they also now go after all the French and Germans also, my husband left and came home. Too much insanity for him there anymore and he's put in for early retirement. These people at his job all belong to southern churches here, one even an elder in his church - all "Uber Christians" set to march forward with cross and flag in hand to take on anybody that does not agree with their warped sense of Christianity. Nobody is safe .. not us and not anyone that does not fit their code. They are coming ..... and we are scared.

Speaking personally, this a been a great board for coping. It hasn't totally hit me yet just how bad the next 4 years are going to hurt; I only know that they will be hard, and I'm going to get deeply hurt in some way. I'm hurting now, but this board is going a long way toward easing the pain. Thanks so much, all of you.

Starry nights,

you gave me a big smile. Your lady client was certainly jarred - and was left wondering what offended you so much...hee hee hee...

Since you all read my mind, but cannot see my outer personality, I'll tell you that almost everyone sees me as an up and happy pleasant person....Believe it or not; but every once in a while someone so irritates me (evil laugh) that I
do a "Starry Night" and burst out with a sharp rebuke.....coming from "Mary Sunshine" it's extremely shocking to the recipient.

All I can say, Starry, is:

Good For You! (felt good didn't it?)

I'm going back and reading these posts...

Jo and Sally, I know all too well about the fundies, too. I was one of them. My sister--who said that she found God on acid--is now one of them. I haven't had the heart to talk to her about the election. She lives in Pensacola, FL--last I heard, she was still recovering from the hurricane, and eating MREs.

But me? I once believed that astrology was of the devil; now I read and post on astrological blogs. Even today, I can still at least joke that I found Jesus, but it didn't work for me.

Hope this can brighten your day, just a little.

Some thoughts to cheer us up!

As revolting as I find this election and dimson, I cherish a few ideas that make me perk up a little. Namely, I think that w is in for the time from hell from now to however long he lasts in the presidency. I am reminded of Trickey Dick's 2nd term when I was a lowly college freshman. It was a bitter fruit he won after all, to have his pants pulled down on the world stage for all to see his shortcomings!

Besides the very good posts on this and other boards that astrologically point to some very rough times ahead for dimson (Saturn return etc, the Winner shall be the Loser, etc.), there is a lot of mundane news that is not going away anytime soon such as the out-of-control deficit, and the out-of-control mess in Iraq. I do beleive that a large number of repugs are privately shuddering at what is going on as well. Sooner or later these ugly-bitch chickens are coming home to roost! Taking away the born-again repug nuts, I can't help but wonder if between the military and some "normal" conservatives if bush won't ultimately get thrown to the lions. (how's that for a little "christian imagery"?)

I think that so much sh*t is about to hit the fan (not the LEAST of which is the mess in Iraq) that not even the spinmeisters will be able to hide it all. (I also wonder where John McCain fits in all this. He appears to have knuckled under, what has he been promised? the veep appointee spot when Cheney resigns or what?) From both a mundane viewpoint and an astro/psychic one I beleive that bush is very close to a complete meltdown. As pointed out above, he has new odder facial tics/appearance.

I too feel fearful at times about this country, but I also beleive Light triumphs in the end. Sometimes it takes one extreme to swing the pendulumn the other way. We have at this time in US history proably the largest number of people who are in some form or other following "alternative" Spiritual views and practices. I do beleive that a little Light cast out awhole lot of Darkness, and the in the end we will prevail. When the ugli-chix start roosting bush will crack. Also wait and see how many fundies support the insane war when they or their loved ones get threatend with draft. This is far far from over. I feel an approaching whirlwind that will rotor-rooter w's ass like a White Tornado. Maybe Tecumseh is saving the best for last. Anyone care to do a little astrological back-up for me on this one? Lets start our Flying Chicken Watch now!!!
