MY SUMMER VACATION AT G8 WITH PLUTO IN SAGITTARIUS
PLEASE WELCOME A NEW AUTHOR PALLAS 18
Although the dignitaries are going to Sea Island, many of the bureaucrats accompanying the leaders were booked into hotels in the Historic Section on the river which is the charming area tourists visit. It's usually booked up every weekend and this weekend was no exception, but more about that later. We went to the Bennigan restaurant next to the hotel for dinner and realized that many of the patrons were not the usual tourists. It wasn't difficult to pick out plain clothes cops, feds, and even a likely couple of "contractors" with Irish brogue sitting around the bar, mostly displaying sullen faces with blank eyed stares, which occasionally and sneakily fell on us. When we left the restaurant we noticed the hotel next to ours had police cars with names of at least six different municipalities, towns, and counties parked outside. Now you would think knowing that I'm an astrologer, that I would have checked the cities we were stopping over in, but you would have thought wrong. I didn't. Had I done so I would have realized that in Savannah's natal chart ( Feb 12, 1733, 2 PM LMT, courtesy of Sally Cheyne McDonald) Progressed Mars in 4th house at 10 Libra, the homeboys so to speak, and weakened by Mars being in its opposite sign Libra, was opposing Savannah's natal Mars at 10 Aries in the 10th house, a sure sign of conflict . Nevertheless, blissfully unaware of what lay ahead, on Saturday morning we headed down to the historic area ourselves. On the way I saw the Georgia National Guard patrolling the streets. I saw humvees all over town. I saw small tanks. I saw jeeps. I saw young kids wearing their Georgia National Guard camouflage outfits and very nervous serious faces. And I thought of Kent State. I saw black metal cages the cops and the guard were putting together. Pens. Not wooden saw horses that say 'don't cross this line'but PENS to hold people in ! Uniforms and army and cops were all over with guns tied to their legs like gunfighters. I saw a very small Coast Guard boat on the river, more like a rubber raft with two machine guns, one at either end of the boat, riding up the river, and harassing a tourist paddle boat. . And though I previously had thought people who talk about black helicopters should be wearing tin hats, sure enough, I saw two fly over our hotel. If tourists and residents weren't alarmed before, they had to be at these sights, as I was. A person quickly becomes imprinted with a siege mentality. And what was all this for? The local paper (transiting Jupiter at 10 Virgo in the third house exactly quincunx Savannah's Natal Mars at 10 Aries had been publishing that there were going to be thousands of protesters and windows might be smashed and they could expect violence. The organized protesters, mostly residents from the areas (represented by the activist but peaceful Mars in the Libra 4th house and some labor unions had obtained permits and printed their schedule of speakers and affirmed they meant this to be peaceful protest against violations of free speech and the G-8 actions. The "townies" told me police had announced anyone carrying a sign will be arrested, no bail and that on Monday they will be stopping cars and searching them and can do so without any reason. Of course they can. But we will be leaving on Sunday before we can be subjected to this indignity. There are 25,000 cops in the town of 20,000 residents. There are 25,000 cops, sherriffs, troopers, correction officers on loan, FBI agents, and other federal govt. people driving white vans with U.S. govt. plates who have descended on this town. Savannah with Capricorn on the 8th house makes it's money through the historic old houses dating from the 1700's bringing tourism. At first Savannah thought it would be wonderful to have the G 8 meeting nearby. But on this day with transiting Saturn in the first house squaring Savannah's 10th house Saturn, certainly the townspeople were doing a quite a lot of rethinking this idea. The town was almost empty of tourists except for some 50 or so brave or ignorant souls. Empty streets and Saturn square Saturn ruling your money house means you're not making lots of money and not feeling terribly cheerful about it. With transiting Pluto in your sixth house of the military opposing your progressed 12th house Neptune in Gemini and with Neptune the ruler of your 10th house the townspeople of Savannah are feeling deceived and wondering why the media intimated there was going to be "terra" and why the military was putting on such a scary and heavy handed show. We walked around the old city and stopped to listen to an outdoor concert which was interrupted by a caravan of 10 or more police cars followed by a government van with sirens blaring , slowly circling the square, twice, where we and some thirty other tourists sat listening to the concert. The noise of the sirens ever growing closer and louder caused everyone to look and finally stand up to see what had happened. Nothing had happened. Two young guardsmen with walkie-talkies and batons marched around the square eyeing the tourists. This was a practice exercise in instilling fear. Nazi Germany replayed. I now understand the expression "I'm freaked." Anger vies with revulsion within me at what this government is doing and what I am seeing. POLICE STATE. If I were younger and healthier I would protest with them. You can feel it. The cops are looking to make trouble....where there is none. And they will. They are too dense to understand that those young people who announced they will be protesting are protesting for them too. I saw a group of young 20 to 30 year olds eating at an outdoor restaurant. The cops and guard cordoned off the street with police cars and humvees and stood around about 15 thick in a bunch in front of the diners looking at them. I don't know if these kids knew they were surrounded on the other sides also, but they sat there quietly eating at their outside tables. Nothing about them said they were protesters. They might have been or might not but they had the misfortune to look young in a town taken over by martial law. They must have been in fear. There was not a smile to be seen. But they didn't look up or acknowledge the show of force. What bravery and absolute guts. Mars in Libra. Meanwhile, this administration arranged that all 2400 reporters from all over the world would have to stay in Savannah while the meetings went on 60 miles away. The government people also reserved entire blocks of hotels in the downtown district - and then canceled the rooms at the beginning of the weekend without any remuneration to the hotels. Pluto opposition Neptune. Massive deception. It was decided if the government booked the hotels the protesters wouldn't be able to and would have no place to stay. Transiting Saturn in the town's first house square natal Saturn in the 10th house for Savannah. "Lack of people, lack of money." By chance, Savannah's natal Saturn is 13 Aries squaring dimson's Sun. Astrologically this would indicate that not many Savannahians are going to be voting for dimson after this. The third house of communications with Leo on the cusp shows its ruler in 9th house of foreigners. The ruler of the press is semi-sextile meaning "made uncomfortable" to Venus in Capricorn in the 7th. Foreign press may report what really went on, but with transiting Sun and Venus in the 12th house of secrets, the home press is going to very "circumspect". Savannah's progressed Neptune in the 12th ruling Savannah's Pisces MC as well as Savannah's natal Uranus in the 6th house triggered by transiting Sun from the 12th says the town was shocked at the military and government actions but they'll be very quiet about it. Looking at the USA Sag rising chart with transiting Pluto at 21 Sag in the first house opposing natal Mars in the 7th house and squaring natal Neptune in the 9th says to me this country has become a populace victimized; stripped of the civil liberties that our government espouses it is spreading around the world, a gulag, under an administration which acts as occupiers in its own country and under the guise (Neptune in the 9th) of protecting the "homeland" is ready and able to commit violence against its own people. Mars is ruler of the 4th, the "homeland" in the Sag rising chart. In the Gemini Rising chart of the USA Mars is natally at 20 Gemini 57 conjuncted by transiting Venus and also opposed by transiting Pluto at 21 Sag in the 7th. ( Venus ruling the 6th house of the military and Pluto ruling the 6th house military also by interception ) Both charts say this country is presently in the control of the military. I never in my life thought I would see in America what I have seen happening in the town of Savannah. It made me angry at that Governor, and the police and plainclothes people. They are giving press releases that they are there to protect the people of that town, and have convinced some townies of that, while others have just left town or closed business for the week. It sure didn't look to me as if they were there to protect people. Quite the opposite. Their function appeared to be to instill fear and intimidate the populace. They succeeded. We left on Sunday, and were followed by a Sheriff's white truck which pulled up close in back of us and followed us for a way. I could see the uniformed driver talking on his phone as he followed our car. I knew he was checking our plate with his HQ. We must have passed the test. He put the phone down and peeled off . I've never seen my government act this way, not even immediately after 9/11 in New York City. By Tuesday, the local paper reported there had been a couple of marches and a gathering at the designated site, lovely old Forsyth Park. 100 protestors showed up in total. Reports of non happenings appeared in the local paper. 25 "activists" made an unscheduled march and were immediately surrounded by troops in riot gear, who later said they were sure they were going to make trouble. http://www.savannahnow.com/stories/060804/2222812.shtml "Free speech and the Right to Assemble" seem to have slipped through the cracks along with the Constitution of the United States. The British end every speech with "God Save Our King/Queen" I'm moved to end with "God Save Our Country From Those Who Are Sworn To Protect It Because They Are Destroying Everything This Country Is Supposed To Represent.

Great story Pallas, and makes me a little concerned. With all the Saturn aspects to Savannah, including a Saturn Square to their 10th house and the US coming up to a Saturn square, makes me wonder if the entire US might be on the brink of experiencing the same thing. Hope not. Posted by: Sally on June 11, 2004 06:36 AMJEAN, I posted this on the last article but in case you don't go back there I wanted to post this here. I know lots of people are new to this blog and new ones keep coming (thank you god) but George Sr. has been discussed several times in the past and I said last year that he would be in danger this year. He has several bad aspects being hit right now and right on through the summer and fall. A stroke comes to mind. His Sun conj. GWB's progressed Mid-heaven, natal and progressed Uranus and NN, Pluto is opposing. That certainly isn't the only danger aspect but it is a glaring one because of the t-square. He isn't happy with George, at least not privately, and if he knew anything about astrology he wouldn't go sky diving or whatever it is he wants to do. And another state funeral would take all the Saturn heat off GWB. The most interesting aspect to me is GWB's progressed Sun is conjunct his Mars at 9degrees Virgo, and Sr's progressed sun is there and Prescott Bush (the grandfather) Sun is there and Samuel (the great grandfather) This is square the US Uranus and the May 31, 2003 Eclipse that set this whole war off plus a pre-natal eclipse of George Jr. From a poetic sense I would say that the dynasty is in danger of being destroyed in less than a year. Venus turns stationary direct on 9 Gemini, and next year in the spring Uranus will square it. These kind of aspects are family destiny completed aspects
Very chilling story, Pallas. I had no trouble envisioning an entire country looking down the barrel of a gun. When a small sleepy town can be held hostage to such menacing Gestapo tactics, just imagine how easy it would be to have tanks rolling through the larger cities, as the citizens hide in fear. And for this, we have the Bush administration to thank. They made it very clear, the day they slithered up the steps to the White House, that they were going to change the way things were done. They wasted no time. Within months, laws and precedents which were agreed upon to safeguard us and people around the world, were nullified with the stroke of a pen. And all done in the privacy of legal chambers where they discussed all the ramifications, and closed all the loopholes. They cleared themselves of any perceived risk. I see that now so clearly. Everything was pre-planned. Our country has been literally handcuffed. How smoothly and how quietly our freedoms were traded in. And with hardly a whisper of protest, from the very people in Washington who are supposed to protect us. What next? Posted by: Cliss on June 11, 2004 07:05 AMthe bush people can screw up anything, even Savannah. when faced with the approach of Sherman's triumphant army, the wise citizenz of Savannah chose to send out a party of notables to offer both an immediate surrender and an extended party. they saved their town and the wonderful neighborhoods you enjoyed. here is the good news, they can put the smack down on a city or three but if they tried to do this to the entire country, they'd be about a successful as they are in iraq. their planning and execution would suck and they'd run out of supplies. and, oh, they'd have to use different troops than they are using in iraq. i think once these folks get home, they're not going to be pawns of bushco. Posted by: mike on June 11, 2004 07:20 AMMiami Vise Police crush peaceful protest at trade summit When confronted by tens of thousands of protestors on his November 2003 visit to London, President George W. Bush said essentially the same thing he always says in such situations: "It's a fantastic thing to come to a country where people are free to express their views." Americans seeking that fantastic experience might soon have to go to England, because opposing views are increasingly unwelcome here at home, as hundreds of Sierra Club activists discovered later that month in Miami. The venue was a summit meeting for the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), an agreement that could push environmental and labor standards into a "race to the bottom" across the hemisphere. Along with thousands of senior citizens, union members, farmers, and other environmentalists peacefully protesting the agreement, the Sierra Club contingent was teargassed, threatened with guns, and,in one case, arrested, pepper-sprayed, and strip-searched. The alarming abuse prompted a letter of complaint to George Bush himself from Sierra Club executive director Carl Pope: "We were appalled that the local police, supported by $8.5 million in federal funds and the Department of Homeland Security, engaged in a systematic campaign of intimidation that violated the constitutional rights of thousands of law-abiding citizens." (And an erosion of Civil Liberites) May we yet see the Triumph of Truth over Deceit. "Men without hope, resigned to despair and oppression, do not make revolutions. It is when expectation replaces submission, when despair is touched with the awareness of possibility, that the forces of human desire and the passion for justice are unloosed." "Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation." (Both quotes from an individual, who welcomed change, learned from the past, and welcomed the future. Senator Robert Kennedy (1925-1968) Sally, Mike, Cliss: Years ago when we astrologers saw Pluto coming to Sagittarius we started to delineate what it's meaning would be. Pluto is change, most often turning "upside down" change, and we saw, among other things Change To Our Laws, Sagittarius is higher law. The trouble is where Pluto goes, the change is permanent. I dont think we'll ever get rid of the Patriot Act. They may change its name but it doesn't look like they'll rescind it, and that bypasses every Interesting at this time, because Venus is Retrograde and Venus is the fabric of society.(falling apart? harmony held back?) Thank you so much for your 'You Are There' behind the scenes reporting on the situation --something that I know will not be reported in such an honest way by the mainstream media. Also, Blair's Labor Party has suffered defeat in regional elections, attributed to his standing with Bush on Iraq. Although this is not a General Election for Prime Minister, it was an attempt by voters to vote against his Labor Party, and him, in the first chance they have had. One wonders what would happen if elections were held in Italy and how the voters would respond to their President's constant support of Bush and his lunatic policies, considering all the protests that went on in Rome last week? Posted by: Isabelle Ghaneh on June 11, 2004 12:31 PMPallas, thanks for giving us a glimpse of the nightmare that Dimson and Co. would like to have us live in. I'm again reminded once again of our pResident telling us how he had seen into the soul of President Putin. They have so much in common indeed, and this is where they want to take the USA. Horrible....and though we have been busy just lilving, this has been coming our way for decades. On this, the day of the memorial of Ronald Reagan, who is indeed dead, I offer this link to an excellent article from Salon. Here is another symptom of the takeover of the entire system we have taken for granted for all these years. http://salon.com/news/feature/2004/06/11/media/print.html Reagan porn The "liberal media's" unprecedented 24/7 gushing over a controversial and divisive president caps a quarter-century of fawning. The media's weeklong coverage of the passing of President Reagan has produced some of the most rapturous remembrances in modern times. Given Reagan's long illness, few expected the gloss to be pierced by examinations of his past as an FBI informant, his support for the apartheid regime of South Africa, America's covert alliance with Saddam Hussein, or the killing fields of Central America. Nonetheless, the sheer volume of media-stoked adoration has been a bit startling to those who are keepers of the flame of objectivity.
By midweek, a few news organizations, including the Los Angeles Times, New York Times and Washington Post, had at least addressed some of the more controversial aspects of Reagan's public life. But for the most part, the reports, particularly on the 24-hour news channels, remained uniformly worshipful, as the elaborate funeral cortege, orchestrated after years of planning by Reagan's old image-makers, marched through the entire week, accompanied by rhetorical flourishes. "Ronald Reagan is a sort of masterpiece of American magic -- apparently one of the simplest, most uncomplicated creatures alive, and yet a character of rich meanings, of complexities that connect him with the myths and powers of his country in an unprecedented way," trumpeted Time magazine. "He is a Prospero of American memories, a magician who carries a bright, ideal America like a holograph in his mind and projects its image in the air." What's telling is that that passage wasn't published this week. It comes from a cover story dated July 7, 1986, written by Lance Morrow. The 3,700-word essay serves as a critical reminder that, despite conservative charges of its liberal bias, the press has been fawning over Reagan for years. And this week's uncritical treatment of the 40th president is a natural culmination of what has been going on for the past quarter of a century "The rules were different for him," notes Walter Pincus, veteran reporter for the Washington Post. "Reagan got all sorts of passes from the press." More.... Posted by: Pat on June 11, 2004 03:18 PMMEM HEY SHIN. I give thanks to God for the healing I am receiving. And so it is. Posted by: Pat on June 11, 2004 03:21 PMPallas, excellent reporting and observations. Author and activist Skyhawk also reported on some these activities. (I'm not sure whether or not the article i read is yet posted on the website.) I would be curious as to whether or not Sonny acutally enacted a martial law order. If so this has received NO wider media play and it should! Should they attempt this coup wonder how this mad-dog administration will respond when cornered? karen Posted by: farrout on June 11, 2004 03:27 PMFrom Star IQ listed on the right side of Astroworld: http://www.stariq.com/Main/Articles/P0005476.HTM For the Week of June 10, 2004 Uranus and Pluto are the newsmakers this week, and while they aren't interacting with each other, these two agents of change are stirring the already agitated atmosphere, and that translates into yet another week of tumult, both personal and collective. Uranus is changing direction, Pluto is promoting power plays, and the combined effect of their astral irritation is likely to produce aggravation. If you're tempted to push, take a moment to consider the consequences of insistence. Sometimes no action is the best action. Uranus goes retrograde on June 10th and stays retrograde until November 11th. When Uranus changes direction nervous systems respond to that motion with heightened sensitivity, which means for the next several days sleep patterns are likely to be disturbed, and attitudes are apt to be anxious. As Uranus retraces its path, it revisits the last four months of upheaval—and so do we. The best way to handle this review is the willingness to rethink decisions, especially impetuous behavior motivated by the heat of the moment without regard to how those acts might impact others. From a collective perspective, this retrograde could reveal even more disturbing political information. These last few months were the months of Clarke, Dean, Woodward, and Abu Ghraib, and while it may be hard to believe, this retrograde is bound to deliver even more startling disclosures. The opposition between Pluto and the Sun is exact on June 11 th , the day after Uranus goes retrograde. Pluto-Sun oppositions stimulate an appetite for power. Despots like to throw their weight around under this influence, so be prepared for demonstrations of power, small and large, to spike over the next few days. Avoid a swelled head, puffed chest, or an arrogant attitude that could distort your vision or motivate regrettable behavior. Be aware, this opposition also fuels the psychotic urges of those who use their own life to take the lives of others. We can only wonder in sorrow how many people will have to die before the collective agrees that terrorism of any kind—political or religious, child or spousal abuse, poverty, hunger, homelessness, or apathy—never works. Humility is the best antidote to this week's intensity..... Farrout, Yes I read the Wilderness article last night. Actually I was pleased. Yup the CIA is couping the administration. How will they react when cornered? Probably order the army or guard out. The question becomes: will the army protect the criminal administration or march to the WH and arrest the criminals? Last October I wrote the article below for Astroworld. I tend to take the astrological longview, rather than day by day aspects. It seems to me that all I wrote is coming to fruition: http://www.astroworld.us/archives/000327.html#000327 [His ideology, his ideas of "governance" HIS GOVERNMENT is beginning to crumble...and all of Humpty Dumpty's men aren't going to put it together again, because the boob is isolating himself and the rethuglicans are turning on him (or running as fast as they can, tsk-tsk ) The aloneness of it all when his friends have become his enemies as Uranus transits his 7th house. Here's the Good News - for us, but not for Junior. Pluto transiting to his South Node is there from now to December and opposes his natal Uranus. This transit occurs in Junior's 5th house which is the 4th house of end of matters to his second house of money and finances. (Heh heh heh. What? You say Congress has woken up to Halliburton's being awarded no-bid contracts in Iraq?) What does it mean? Well, Pluto is the investigator, the revealer of what is In the US chart, at the same time, Transiting Pluto in the 7th house sextiles the US Natal 18 Aquarian Moon in the 10th house of the Gemini rising chart. The sextile to the Moon indicates the public is going to begin to understand that some skullduggery has been going on. But the stars tell us there's more to come. Karma can be so delicious! Pluto and the Moon form a YOD to the midpoint of the US natal Sun and Mercury. Mercury rules the Ascendant in the Gemini Rising US chart. The Ascendant in a mundane chart is "The People" of the country. The Sun rules the US 4th house of "home and end of matters". A YOD brings about a "forced adjustment"and since Mercury in the third house of our country's Communications and Media is involved in this YOD, we can expect a change (end) in the way the media has been covering up and censoring news about the boy wonder. Why? Because at the same time the Yod is activated, Saturn is also going to be on the "boy king's" Sun and the U.S. Sun. His power will be diminshed. Thank the Heavens and YODs for big blessings. Transiting Pluto, never one to be pushed or hurried, is not moving off the boy king's South Node and opposing Uranus during the entire next six months. Those investigations and revelations will be worse than a Chinese water torture for him. Revelation after revelation. ( Well he is the religious one, he should enjoy revelation, but these revelations he won't.) it may be a race as to whether he will be able to start another war before legal actions are taken against him, but he would be ill-advised to do so, with a grand square containing Transiting Mars squaring Transiting Pluto on his natal South Node squaring transiting Jupiter squaring his natal Uranus. Boy Wonder is going to be on a spending spree again, or try to be, and Congress and the people are going to be as mad as a hornet's nest with transiting Mars in the 11th house of Congress in the U.S. chart squaring the natal U.S. Mars/Uranus rising. Talk about poking a stick in Congress's eye! The November eclipse will quincunx Dumbya's Sun while it is being transited by Saturn. He's going to have to make a lot of adjustments because stamping his foot and threatening, "You're either with me or agin me" just isn't going to work anymore. At the Nov 23 Eclipse, while this drawn out upheaval is occurring in Boy Wonder's so called "homeland", Islam's chart is being angrily activated by a square from transiting Pluto to it's natal Mars at 19 Virgo and an opposition from transiting Mars to it's natal Mars. A T square with Mars opposing Mars and both squaring Pluto. The eclipse point itself at 1 Sag will square Islam's natal Uranus of uprising. By December transiting Jupiter will conjoin Islam's natal Mars in Virgo squaring transiting Pluto. Boy Wonder's natal Uranus upsets and activates Islam's Warrior anger and as Resident-Select Boy Wonder's Natal Uranus at 19 Gemini fills in Islam's T square and makes it a Grand Square of Mars, Pluto, Mars and Uranus energies. There is nothing pleasant about Mars, Pluto, Uranus energies between countries or leaders of countries. I ask you, is this the person who has any capacity to make peace in the Middle East? By December transiting Jupiter will exactly square the Boy King's natal South Node conjunct transiting Pluto and all that has been hidden will come gushing out. The problem is, can Congress displace the Boy Wonder before Islam displaces us?] So much of what was in the charts when I wrote the above last year has come to be. But what strikes me is that at this G8 conference Duh. Welcome to reality G-7. Unfortunately the boy wonder still doesn't get it. He has drained the economy, drained the military resources and to It would appear any further plans he has for world war with him as the leader doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. Although he has already upset the balance in the Middle East and surely we can expect the spread of civil wars in the area. Then of course the Kurds have announced they will no longer honor their peace agreement with Turkey. If his purpose, as told to him by whatever evil spirit has his ear, was to bring on However, as far as his proposal at the G8 to continue "democratization" (read initiate more pre-emptive attacks on countries) it's not nice to flip the bird to your historical allies, junior. Didn't Daddy tell you that or didn't you listen? Perhaps the world will be saved from him - by the CIA and military coup - there is a saying ABB - anybody but *ush - there's also another saying - Ridding America of this administration and the neo-cons would be beneficial to the world - but how long would the CIA/military be in charge of this country???? Pluto in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is always associated with freedom, law, and permanency Permanent change to our freedom and our laws has already occurred. The motives behind US policy towards their country have always been a mystery, and if Iraqis sometimes explain to westerners that Saddam Hussein was a CIA agent whose appointed task was to provoke an American invasion of Iraq, it is largely thanks to Reagan's legacy. Although Saddam was still a junior figure, it is a matter of record that the CIA station in Baghdad aided the coup which first brought the Ba'athists to power in 1963. But it was Reagan who, two decades later, turned US-Iraqi relations into a decisive wartime alliance. He sent a personal letter to Saddam Hussein in December 1983 offering help against Iran. The letter was hand-carried to Baghdad by Reagan's special envoy, Donald Rumsfeld. Reagan liked several things about Saddam. A firm anti-communist, he had banned the party and executed or imprisoned thousands of its members. The Iraqi leader was also a bulwark against the mullahs in Tehran and a promising point of pressure against Syria and its Hizbullah clients in Lebanon who had just destroyed the US Marine compound in Beirut, killing over 200 Americans. This makes me indistinguishable from most of my neighbors. But I am different. When I left the Pentagon, after an honorable twenty year military career, I was angry about what I thought were lies that some folks I worked for were putting out as truth. It bothered me even more because it seemed like they were lying on purpose, in order to get a little war, a little oil, a little financial advantage, the odd basing right. Damn lying government officials always bothered me, but I had never met any face-to-face until I worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Obviously, my decision – which was to go public with what I saw as soon as I could, and sooner – was not designed to promote my employment with certain institutions. For example, the American Enterprise Institute did not seek my contribution to the American enterprise. Cliff May at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies was not interested in my defense of this democracy. I didn’t receive a feverish call from Eleana Benador begging to represent me. I didn’t get a call from the National Review or the Washington Times, or the Times’s Insight Magazine, or from Frontpagemag. The New York Post was not competing to headline my story. Neither was the New York Times. In 2002, what I saw, and what many of us saw, was terribly dismaying. What irony that Savannah is once again caught in the grip of struggling forces within the United States. Bu$h is truly a bad dream from the Civil War ~ the reemergence of unresolved issues from the United States' war with itself. Bu$h and the cabal are fascists. Prescott's ties to the Nazis, eliminating the black votes from the Florida elections, 9-11, the Patriot Act, the very existence of John Ashcroft, free speech zones and now pens, razor wire and cities under seige. None of this is accidental. I think Savannah is a warning. A very clear warning, just as I think the videotape of the execution of Nick Berg is a warning. It's not a warning from the government to the terrorists, either. I've been processing Tarot cards and running through scenarios in my head and I don't see any way the Bu$h cabal can outlast the coming implosion. They can delay it, they can deny it, but Patriotic Americans + the CIA + the State Department + Conservative Republicans + Democrats + Nancy Reagen + the Pope + the other 6 billion people on Earth = Bu$h's days are numbered - they can't avoid it. Especially because the CIA is against them. Now, the CIA are not necessarily our allies. They have their own loyalties, interests, motivations, goals and agendas. The CIA is to Bu$h and the Pentagon as the Ewoks are to the Empire. Bu$h thinks he *knows* the political landscape (which is the Forest of Endor) but the Ewoks know how to hide in plain sight. They know how to lay a trap far down the path and how to lead others unknowingly into it. You can take advantage of the Ewoks for a while, but... ...eventually they are going to make a xylophone out of stormtrooper helmets. MEM HEY SHIN, thanks for a great article Pallas 18. I have been watching this incredibly beautiful ceremony of optimism laying Ronald Reagan to rest. I hear the word of praise of a man who was "real" and loving of all men. I hear the words of a man who loved this country. I am feeling as if I am sitting squarely in OZ. I was there when Ronald Reagan first came to Office in Washington DC. I saw the bullying. I saw the shredding of documents in the EPA and other agencies. I knew the people who smuggled documents out of these agencies in an attempt to save the information for the people who own those documents. I met with the people from federal agencies, on the street, who no longer were safe talking on their telephones. All the numbers were changed, and lines were known to be tapped. I remember watching the man form Shell Oil announce that in Ronald Reagan's promise to cut the size of the Federal Government, private industry was then taking over the distribution of fuel in case of war or natural disaster emergency. I was there. I had friends who died because programs were cut, and they were now treated like criminals for applying for medical assistance. One I know died of fear, not her ailment. Ronald Reagan brought the foxes into the hen house, and we are still dealing with them today. Little did we know then how much worse it was going to get. We dealt with the highest homeless rate in the history of this country, but it was to be topped by George HW Bush and now homelessness takes a back seat the Homeland Security, and the outsourcing of our industry, and white collar jobs. Who are these people, and why are they doing this? These are certainly not "children of light". Posted by: Pat on June 11, 2004 06:02 PMPallas, Be of good cheer. Not Britain - as official figures claim - but private military companies. Over 10,000 men and women perform various jobs under contract to the military in Iraq we have been told. Furthermore, official US government figures indicate that out of a total US$85bn allocated by the USA for military operations in the Middle East this year, over a third will go to private contractors. A reality check: this figure is greater than the defence budgets of most countries. The transfer of jobs performed by the military to private companies has a long history and is justifiable. Governments have a duty to get value for their taxpayers' money and many support jobs, such as providing logistical back-up in the form of transport, catering or housing, is best left to the private sector. Furthermore, a great deal of the military expenditure in purchasing new weapons actually goes on maintenance and technological upgrades. How does this work in Iraq? When the USA launched its invasion last March, its battleships included civilians, operating some of the world's most sophisticated weapons systems. Unmanned Predator drones, the Global Hawks, and the B-2 stealth bombers went into action with weapons not only maintained, but actually operated by civilians. The private sector became even more deeply involved in the war's aftermath. A US company has the lucrative contract to train the new Iraqi army; another to recruit and train an Iraqi police force. And even the life of the USA's chief civilian administration in Iraq, Paul Bremer, is usually protected by a private company, rather than conventional US troops. A US-based company is providing patrols throughout Iraq and its arsenal ranges from M4 assault rifles to 20mm cannons mounted on its own helicopters. The company operates firing training ranges in the USA and actively recruits for what, to all intents and purposes, is now a private army. It is all perfectly legal. Light a Candle Interesting, Pallas. I read somewhere about a highly placed woman in the spiritual field who had the only-too-human characteristic of pride and arrogance. In later years she had two massive strokes which left her debilitated and bed ridden. Within 2 years she passed away, but before her passing she said to a friend that she became immobile to "instill in her a sense of humility, and to break her arrogance". Interesting. I guess I never considered chronic illnesses to have much value. Reagan became completely helpless in the last decade of his life, totally dependent upon his caretakers, and could not recognize family members or even think coherently. Interesting... Now I've read that RR's son Ron Jr. in fact has an alternative lifestyle. I wonder how his father's harsh attitude toward AIDS affected his son. I also wonder about Cheney whose daughter is the same. Now if someone could help me figure out how a family which is so criminal, law-breaking and obscene can catapult itself to the stratosphere of success and wealth.....the Bush Family. I've read so many terrible things about them that it just boggles the mind....starting with Prescott Bush who was a senator and had dealings with the Nazis. The family fortune has been passed along and maintained, all the way down the line to George the Genius. How is it that this family has been SO successful, and SO criminal? Does anyone really believe that I could possibly pull even 0.001% of all the criminality they do, and not end up in jail for the rest of my days? Why does the universe keep supporting them? For 3, maybe 4 maybe 5 generations. Why doesn't the law of Karma work on these people? I fear it is a dress rehearsal for what is coming. Savannah is beautiful this time of year, as is most of the South. The gardenias are literally falling off my bushes, and the magnolias are in bloom. Bush feels the need to be totally surrounded by protective agents now that he is so hated. An island is a perfect setting... recall the one he and Blair and Anzar met on before the invasion of Iraq. Long ago, the elegant retreat that is Sea Island was once a fishing ground for Native Americans, a conquest of European explorers and the site of grazing pastures. Along with other islands of coastal Georgia and South Carolina, it undoubtedly provided a haven for pirates in the early to mid 1700s. First called Fifth Creek by Native Americans, the resort's name has changed from Isle of Palms to Long Island, Glynn Isle and finally, Sea Island. As with every other treasure on this planet, once the white male pirate learns of it, he purloins it for himself. Famous for his work in Palm Beach, architect Addison Mizner was commissioned to design The Cloister, and the result reflects the acclaimed architect's penchant for Mediterranean design. Set back from the ocean, the sprawling stucco building with terra cotta tile roof feels at once both comfortable and grand. The signature Spanish lounge features high-beamed ceilings and gothic style windows, and sunlit patios and cloistered terraces add to the casually elegant ambiance. The design of the hotel proved to be a complement to the property's beautiful natural setting, which was carefully enhanced at the hands of the talented landscape architect. Among the clusters of stately palms and graceful live oaks, stretches of green grass and expansive carpets of colorful flowerbeds were added. It was in this setting that Bush hosted the G8 meeting. Think about that name for a moment, The Cloister... Georgia was the 13th of the original colonies. XIII is the Scorpio card of the deck, the sign of secret and occult mysteries and secret activities. The universe is manifesting in every possible way the corruption and exploitation of this country and its people since the white male first ‘discovered’ this treasure, in the form of Bush and his ilk. Not content with taking everything this country has to offer, they are moving their sights outward and onward. Exactly as pirates of the past, they are a law unto themselves, taking whatever they desire. So far, no one has stood to stop them. So much "security" must have seemed brutish! And speaking of brutish, I just read on DU that Fox has reported that there is talk that Guiliani would replace Cheyney and he, Cheyney would take over the CIA. The thought of this just makes me panic. First of all, while all of us here deeply appreciated the way Guiliani held the city together after 911, no one wanted to give him the 3rd term he wanted. In fact many of us considered his to be a fascist administration. The thought of he and his neo-con loving sidekick Kerick dipping their nasty digits into the national goverment makes me go pale. It made me think of my experiences in the 60s and the polarization between police ("pigs") and the activist youth. Yet, on my one March to D.C., I remember having a wonderful conversation with one of the police. I had a few more experiences with police during those years and, thankfully, none were negative. Some people, however, were horribly mistreated and abused, e.g. Kent State. Many who are in uniform, despite their training, uniforms & badges, remain human, decent, kind, clear thinking. Then, there those who are so scarred & insecure & fearful that they hide behind structure, ridgidity, weapons, anal-compulsiveness. I like to think those are in the minority. I thank G-d that the 60s happened and so many of us alive today (as well as the Indigos, the Crystals and many other youth) have learned the lesson of humaness, and that so much truth has been revealed in the decades since. As much secrecy as still exists, we still live a very open, information age, ruled by Uranus, the great revealer of truth (IMHO). Remember the photo of a "flower child" giving flowers to some in men in uniform? Well, on this eve of martial law, where those who want to protect us, their families, their countries, their comrades and themselves and are may be too programmed or too scared to know what they are doing...Remember that they too are human and many will respond to kindness, politeness, flowers & love. Let's at least try to diffuse these polarized positions and shift toward the center.

Lincoln grew up hard and knew what hardships common people live everyday. FDR learned the suffering life can bring when he had to deal with polio. Reagan was lucky all his life, until the end of it, toward the end of his presidency and afterward. As a result Reagan had that cold, detached Aquarian view of difficulty. When he was governor of California he responded to the comment that many Americans go to bed hungry with the quip: "That's because so many people are on a diet." Sorry to say this, but barring some mitigating aspects from other planets, I think Aquarians are not especially empathetic. Posted by: Barbara on June 11, 2004 09:42 PMM, where on DU is that? Alzheimer's is caused by a desire to remain in the past and feeling useless in the present; difficulty in imagining the future and a desire to return to childhood (from Permanent Healing by Dr. Daniel Condron, D.M.,D.D.,M.S.) One could apply this in the Reagan scenario by noting how Nancy controlled & managed "Ronny's" life & affairs, and his dependency and reliance on her in doing so, also the whole "mommy" thing. Frankly I don't want to be 'inspired' by a candidate if it means a charming con man who shouts false promises. Haven't we had enough of those? I'm ready for a rock solid guy to take charge of a mess, and begin the cleanup. Kerry looks the part to me. I'm sticking with him, and pray there are no attempts to take his life. Teresa Heinz Kerry has a wonderful chart for a First Lady. I'm with Joanna on this one... Bush/Cheney et al are doing their best, but it's not good enough to break the spirit of this country. Posted by: Pallas18 on June 12, 2004 02:08 AMI have a very hard time believing the story about Cheney and Guilliani. Removing Cheney from the ticket would only be done for "health reasons", thus he certainly couldn't be seen to handle the stress of the CIA. Cheney also looks very unhappy after the Inauguration for a few months with the Saturn station opposite his Venus. That doesn't look like any kind of victory to me. Guiliani has Uranus coming to square his Sun Uranus conjunction starting in March. So big changes BEGIN in March 2005 and go on for several months. That doesn't look like a campaign and an election and then settling in around February /March. It looks like a whole new focus and change of location beginning around then (the Sun rules his Ascendant). Regarding Bush's karma, my fantasy is that he will come back to a poor, hungry family, with the karmic goal of developing some real compassion. Perhaps it will be where birth control and abortion are unavailable, and he has to share with 15 or so brothers and sisters. Perhaps it will be on the coast somewhere, and his house will be flooded due to global warming (which doesn't exist of course). I'm with mike on this one. This whole doubting Kerry thing reminds me of an event that happen to me during my flying lessons years ago. My instructor told me to take the airplane to a very high altitude because we were going to do "wing stalls." To make a long story short, we ended up with the nose of the plane pointing straight down, going very fast and spinning. I was terrified. I had never seen that view from an airplane (my father was a pilot) before. My instructor told me, very matter of factly, "first thing you want to do is stop the spinning." And then he proceeded to tell me, still very calmly, "now I want you to pull up the nose real easy because we don't want to tear the wings off." That's where we are right now. We are pointing straight down, going very fast and spinning. We have to first stop the spinning by getting bush out. I don't know if Kerry is the "right guy" for the job but I sure as hell don't trust anything the media says. The reason we don't know much about Kerry is because the media won't let us. There is a reason the people of Iowa went for Kerry over the others. Let's just hope their right. Kerry has been around a long time, let's trust he knows what he is doing. He wore a coat and tie at Sea Island, Georgia, despite President Bush's request for informality. He refused to see NATO troops sent to Iraq. On NATO, according to AP he said in part: I do not think that it is NATO's job to intervene in Iraq," Chirac told reporters in a videoconference from Sea Island, the private resort where the leaders have gathered. "Moreover, I do not have the feeling that it would be either timely or necessarily well understood," said Chirac, adding that he had "strong reservations on this initiative." On June 8, Chirac took on the idea of democratizing "the Greater Middle East." He admitted that it could "contribute, in a strong and useful way for the region, to the progress of reforms engaged in by the countries of the region." But he affirmed that the Israeli-Palestinian and the Iraq conflicts were "the primary obstacles" to the success of reforms in these countries, because of "the resentments and frustrations" that they engender, according to the text of his declaration made public by the French president's office. He said, "The countries of the Middle East and North Africa do not need missionaries of democracy." He added tht "There is no already-made democratic formula that one could transpose from one country to another. Democracy is not a method, but a culture. If one wants to see liberty, respect for human rights, and the rule of law impose themeslves on a country, it is necessary first of all to respect the liberty and independence of that country . . . reform cannot be decreed from the outside. It is accomplished from the inside." He insisted that progress on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute was key to making advances in the area of reform. Chirac spoke forthrightly about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in a way that is not allowed to a US politician bacause of pro-Israeli special interest lobbies that punish anyone who steps out of line. (That is why Senator Fritz Hollings had to wait until he was about to retire before speaking out on the issue). He said, "It is self-evident that all joint approaches to the problem of what one today calls "The Greater Middle East and North Africa" presuppose that there will have been progress--something we cannot see today--in returning to peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis. For one cannot de-link a certain number of phenomena which are taking place in the world today from the impetus that was given them from the beginning of the conflict." The Washington Post reported, Cole has a really fine piece today also on how the refusal to allow early elections in Iraq may have derailed the military campaign. We have a long history with that country and I would guess that not many who were buying freedom fries recently are aware that the French financed the American Revolation, to such an extent that it was that which banrupted their country, not the profligate spending of a queen, and tipped the balance to the French Revolution. A revolution in each country, in the same time frame, is an amazing confluence of energy, though theirs led to "The Terror" fostered by their neo-cons and ours led to freedom which our neo-cons are now trying to destroy by the use of terror. Posted by: M. on June 12, 2004 04:26 AMhttp://www.salon.com/news/feature/2004/06/10/nader/print.html Nader's Republican pipe dream Ralph Nader's latest presidential campaign does not have an official slogan. It does, however, have a kind of official rationalization. "I think I'm going to take more votes away from Republicans than from Democrats," Nader says, almost every time he speaks. Democrats doubt this theory. And Nader admits no Republicans have asked him to leave the race or expressed fear he will siphon votes from Bush. "I don't think they're in with the trend," Nader explained.
What I did not find, however, was a single supporter of Ralph Nader who voted for George W. Bush in 2000, or who had been planning to support Bush this year before Nader entered the race. After a while, I felt like a stymied naturalist stalking a rare species. Sure, Naderus Republicanus must exist somewhere, but it is an unusual creature, capable of eluding human observation for long stretches of time. Nader supporters themselves treat the idea as a curiosity -- even in states where Republicans are supposedly most independent-minded. Take Greg Stott, a schoolteacher from Goshen, N.H., who attended a recent Nader press conference in Concord, the state capital, holding a "Teachers for Ralph" sign. Stott is a registered Democrat. Does he know any Republicans or former Bush voters who are supporting Nader this year? "No, I don't," replied Stott. "That's a pretty big leap. I haven't met anybody [like that] yet. I have met a lot of Democrats who have switched over. I mean, a lot." Even Nader himself has only caught a few fleeting glimpses of his Republican backers. Unable to locate Naderus Republicanus, I sat down with Nader for an interview in Concord, to ask him about the subject. "Have you encountered people who have told you they supported Republicans in the past, and Bush in 2000?" I queried. "Oh, yes," Nader answered immediately. Really? Where? More... I'd like to see Lutin's delineation saying things will be flipped and Gore will be President this time. Do you have a link to his previous predictions on dimson and Gore? Kaye Elizabeth Joyce in the 80's was not known to have a high degree of accuracy by her colleagues, although she developed amazing marketing skills and has put them to good use. I also hope this is one of her better predictions.
I wasn't frightened, I was angry. And if my companion hadn't been holding me back I would have The entertainers at the outdoor concert who were doing popular songs with guitar, began to sing some protest songs, (as the guardsmen walked through the center) and got rousing applause and laughter from the audience present. It's obvious I wasn't the only one who was angry. It's really too bad that the national press didn't cover these things. The whole country needs to see what is going on. The whole country needs to get on its feet and shout a collective NO to the actions of this government against the rights of the people. Since you use the Sag Rising Chart, Saturn crosses Mercury in the 8th house - financial/economic problems likely caused by 9th house matters - pull out of foreign monies from the market is a possibility, and it could also be separation from a foreign partner - when does Tony's election come up?
The Face of Evil: CACI and Titan. I've been following the fortunes of both Titan Corp. and CACI, both companies whose fates are tied together in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. This week, a group of 9 Iraqis have banded together to sue Titan corporation for mistreatment. I don't know how much they are asking in damages, but I assume it's a lot of money. At the same time, the nation's largest pension plan, Calpers, is calling CACI into question about its practices. They own stock in both companies, and are getting cold feet about owning these radioactive companies. (they lost a huge amount of money in the Enron scandal). Next, I checked the Dow Jones financial report. Most analysts have now downgraded these stocks. They have gone down, and there is a slough of articles referring to 'Prison abuse will cost CACI', 'Titan being sued for abuse allegations'. Another article mentioned that both companies 'May face ban on government work'. That may just throw a monkey wrench in their future torture plans. I wonder if anybody has done a chart on either of these companies to follow their fate. I'll see what I can find as far as inception date. - More Posted by: Sharon Katz on June 12, 2004 06:42 AMWhen I step back to a historical perspective I realize the America we thought we had was only an illusion (US Mars square Neptune, Mars co-ruling the 12th house and Neptune in the 9th of higher mind) What we thought we had here in America was all an illusion. Like Chirac said "democracy is not a model, it's a culture." I was thinking about the movies and how much our concept of our leaders and what they and America should be are based on movies. The John Wayne model (Reagan) the musicals and comedy ( Ford and Carter) the feel good movies of WWI (when Johnnie comes marching home again) (FDR) WWII, (Eisenhower) cowboys and indians, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, (Bush) the bad guys (Nixon) In the past Pluto has aspected the Mars/Neptune square always with dramatic results. Right now is the first time Pluto has been in the 1st house of the USA self in aspect to Mars/Neptune, rattling the fantasies we held during the 20th Century. This whole regime is going to be gone, I don't know if it will be on Nov. 2, but it will be gone and we have the opportunity to step out of our illusions and really build 'freedom for all.' To start building a better America one based in, I don't know, a better illusion, one that is honest. We, the people, around the world are not finished with this revolution, not by a long shot, it hasn't even really started yet. I wrote this to someone and they wrote back to say the when Pluto hits 25 Sagittarius and then Capricorn the real chaos begins. The reality is Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn keeps marching around the earth and has done so for million of years and chaos has certainly ensued, that will never change, but what can change is our (the collective) response to the chaos. We can start demanding answers from our leaders, honest answers. We can boycott different companies and say why we are boycotting them. We can keep fact sheets in our purse and pockets to tell people (when the subject comes up) just why we are upset with present policies, and what is really happening in the government and corporate america, and we can do lots of other things, big and small. Most of all we can pick and hold in our mind a different illusion, pick a different movie. Pluto was in Scorpio in the 80's and that's when he started his digging into the "dirt" now Neptune is in Aquarius (dissolving some of that scum and bringing it to the surface and Uranus in Pisces is trying to heal it, but unless we see we are a sick nation we cannot heal. I think about the women who fought so long for the right to vote because it was right, the african/americans who fought so long for civil rights, because it was right. Many of them did not live to see the result of their work, but they kept fighting for what was right, and that's what we must do because there is a lot wrong in this country at this point in time. One of my favorite poems is "don't go gently into the good night, rage, rage, against the dying of the light." Gephardt's political machine ( courtesy of his attack poodle Aboussie ) in Missouri have dragged the democratic party down. It's all about geppies people and the average person who isn't a geppie groupie is shut out. At the state dem convention the state party tried to shut out a long time member because she supports Claire McCaskill who is not a geppie groupie. Fortunately they had to let the people vote on whether Sandra Querry would be re-elected as a DNC member for the party. A move was made to add her to the ballot as soon as it came up. She won overwhelmingly and the State Party members COULDN'T Even say her name to say she won. Instead they said the person who was number three. Patently Petty. They all wonder why people aren't Flocking to their party??? Who wants to be a member of some elitist group? The dem party needs to understand that if they want people in it, they need to start recognizing there is more than just their quaint inner circles. All those people who say they are voting for democrats this time despite being lifelong republicans doesn't mean they will stick around. 2006 will be quite interesting if the dem party doesn't pull it together and stop being so incestuous. Party of the people, my rear! Gephardt as VP is just about the worst choice for the betterment of politics in this state. If it's true, I really shouldn't be surprised. Disgusted, but not surprised. It's all about money, connections and games. Who cares about the people they are supposed to be beholden to. Once upon a time the people elected the VP. Kennedy changed that. Rather unfortunate. The only good thing about it being June and not October is the longer the bush machine is in power the more they will trip over themselves, pounding in the fact they are incompetent, arrogant, and deceitful, war mongering nimcompoops. Which kerry will NEED if he has chosen gephardt. He'll need every last vote, because that kind of action ( if true ) is just the kind of thing that will lose people like me who don't think he is whipped cream and peaches or even a decent guy, who don't support him, but would have voted for him with the biggest damn clothespin I could find. Expecting the usual fare of paranormal chatter and lunatic conspiracy theories, I was stunned when host George Noory interrupted the commericals to announce that the John Kerry campaign has just announced that it would (and I'm paraphrasing) "very much like to have John McCain as his running mate," but in lieu of that possibility (and McCain's apparently final rejection has of course been all over the news today) he is offering the slot to Dick Gephardt. I have no idea if this is true, and have thus far found no confirmation online, but if it does turn out to be true it is deeply disappointing. Like many Kossacks I have little kind to say about the prospect of running mate Gephardt, but I will keep my trap shut until final word comes through." All I can say is whomever posted the diary should have kept their 'trap shut' until verified. Kerry's VP will be his first major decision that will reflect on him as a presidential candidate. The announcement will be BIG, generating BIG time press/media coverage... it will not happen thru some fringe late night AM radio program! Word will come from KERRY'S MOUTH, or announced at the Demo Conv --- and it will not come the weekend after RR is buried, and the weekend Clinton begins his book tour with segment on Sunday's 60 Minutes. IMHO This news was not on Kos' front page. Anybody can post a diary... even a FREEPER posing as a Kossack... my goodness, we just dealt with the disinformation that Kerry AGAIN asked McCain to be VP... the media is doing everything it can to destroy Kerry's campaign... they did it to Dean. Let's not allow them to do it to Kerry. Please. As of 10-June-2004: Iraqi civilian deaths Reported minimum - 9356 Reported wounded: 20,000+ American military deaths American deaths - 833 There have been at least 5,013 U.S. troops wounded in action Coalition contractor deaths Contractor deaths – 89 THE REBUFF The big lie continues that the invasion and occupation of Iraq has been a surgically clean operation. The mounting deaths of American troops, usually meted out in small numbers, are characterized as America’s sacrifice in the war against terror. Civilian casualties have been sanitized into non existence, and continue to mount. Yet the war against an unnamed, unidentifiable enemy is scheduled to end dramatically on June 30th. With much fanfare, the new interim appointees will assume office and the military occupation will suddenly come to an end. The world is being asked to believe that, with the stroke of a pen, the US will remain in Iraq at the pleasure of the Iraqis. Just ask the thousands who died if they believe that for a minute. The second appeal for much needed help by Bush administration took place this week at the G-8 meeting. Surprise, surprise, - in the end, the leaders of world’s major nations gave George Bush a resounding NO: No troops, No funds, No NATO involvement, No reduction of Iraq debts. No, No. No. No, you broke it, you fix it. And that means the quagmire continues and that more people will die. It means that most leaders will not defy the sentiments of their own people who largely distrust, dislike, and disrespect George W. Bush. They will not pick up the pitiful debris left by this president in a war waged with pretense and distortion. They will not forget the months of deception and the unmitigated arrogance that led to this debacle. And they will not readily add their names to the list of the thousands who died." Posted by: Jo on June 12, 2004 01:13 PMLaurie, I'd agree Edwards would be a better choice, even if he is after his own interests such as his insurance policy which stated all parents must carry mandatory insurance for their children. While on the surface that sounded great for a couple of reasons, down below it smacked of a trial lawyer's dream and inability to recognize how difficult it is to maintain insurance on a limited budget. Especially for single mothers that slip through the cracks financially, as they make just enough, but not enough to cover everything. Mandatory insurance for them would have been more than just a hardship, it would have been cruel as well as creating scenarios of tragedy. It's difficult enough for single mothers to raise children, especially if it is their first child. The pressure and stress is tremendous unless there are support systems, which few people are lucky to have. Jo, I understand it is a rumor and the diarist himself admitted to as much, but it's enough to set me off. Kerry via his campaign has been talking to Gephardt. Gephardt is on the list. My main point was ~~if it is true~~, kerry is pushing the envelope and that Gephardt is the worst choice possible imho. Posted by: Sally on June 12, 2004 03:09 PMRegarding the flurry of posts about McCain and then Gephardt as VP, it's important to remember that none of this is fact, just rumour. I, for one, would find it hard to believe that Kerry would pick Gephardt. Of COURSE he's been talking to Gephardt (important to keep the Unions happy and the Unions love Gephardt, so he'll make sure they support Kerry), but it doesn't mean he's asking him to be his VP. Kerry realizes that Gephardt would not help the ticket. My suspicion is that the names are being floated to keep the wolves at bay as to who the REAL choice is. If they can keep that a secret until the Convention (and I don't remember if they agreed to announce the choice before the convention or during), the announcement of his VP choice would get TONS of news. And with BelzeeBush (thanks to that DUer for coining this delicious moniker) doing himself in, Kerry may not feel the need to have a VP choice out there right now fighting the fight. When your enemy is doing himself in, leave him alone! McCain could be a smart (though impossible) choice as it would be a safe haven for disenchanted Republicans to vote "Republican" (while actually voting for a Democrat) this election. But it'd never happen in a million years. I don't see McCain in office much longer. How awesome would it be for Gore to resurface and take what is rightly his?! One can dream, I guess. I don't think his astrology supports it this time around. Just my two cents. Regarding Pluto hitting 25 Sag, it appears as if it first hits in Jan 2006, then retros back over it June 2006 and then passes it again Direct Nov 2006. If this is incorrect, feel free to correct me. :-) Jonathan Posted by: Jonathan on June 12, 2004 03:35 PM
I proably need to finish reading all the posts before I start ranting but will anyway. If Kerry continues to support McCain for V.P. than I am absolutely done with him. There is absolutely no way that "common ground" can be achieved even if McCain were V.P. considering the other players in the Republican system (DeLay, Frist, Hastert, etc.) who are the primary controllers of the party. The melding of the deep polarity within our political structures must come from another source, hopefully the people not from politicians who know nothing about a middle ground and could care less. I have never been inspired by Kerry and will vote for him only if he supports 100% a liberal agenda. We need a liberal agenda to help restore balance to the extreme conserativism that has overtaken us the last 3 1/2 years. To me this V.P. thing is tantamount to desertion of the Democratic Party and it make me sick. His talk of increasing the military is enough to turn me off to him forever. We shouldn't have to "guess" what is in his mind, he should be telling us on a daily basis. If he is so insecure about winning that he needs McCain, than he should bow out now and let someone else in that has sincere, and honest democratic values. I think he is just as corrupt as the rest. The latest issue of Vanity Fair has some articles in it that you might find worth reading. (It has some glam boy on the cover, BTW, so you'd have no idea there is really something of substance inside.) The articles to which I am referring are: "Tom Delay's Hard Drive" (about the Bugman of Texas, natch), "Powerful Secrets" (about S&B, including a huge picture of the skull and notation that it is rumored to be Geronimo's which brought hot tears to my eyes, of course), "Clarke's Challenge" (about Richard Clarke and the WH smear campaign against him), "Ordinary Warriors" (about regular folks in Iraq and how/why they hate us), "Rumble on the Right" (by Christopher "Contradiction" Hitchens on a supposed civil war within the Right), "The "Bush Bunch" (rather silly, but kinda interesting write-up on the weird women around Bush), and my favorite, "Unacceptable Exposure" (about the monstrous Abu Ghraib mess and its likely fall-out). Pallas, I am late in thanking you for this powerful article. Yesterday went to the Savannah newspaper online and they had a brief story about merchants losing money during G8. Not a word about all the security--and we all know it is there plus it would be an obvious "local interest" story in any free society. Scarey in the extreme. The most I've seen about the "lockdown" besides your article, is The Daily Show--where a reporter started to "report from Savannah" and said all the press had been "moved back to St. Louis" because a cop looking through a telescope saw a protester frown. The writers on the Daily Show are able to laugh about all this--and ridicule the reality. More power to them. Re Kerry and McCain. I read the story in the NYT and I have never read anything like it before in my life. The NYT reporter Tierney said that "a person" said Kerry asked McCain. Tierney also used the words "some people" and "some individuals." Then--then--he reports that McCain absolutely denies that he has ever been asked to run on Kerry's ticket. Mike: I completely identify with your statement about DeLay. I think though that he has more pots in the fire about corruption than just the Republican "funds" possible indictment. Remember the West Star Energy Bribe/Payoff's from a couple of years ago which included Billy Tozan as well as DeLay. If I am not mistaken, there is an ongoing investigation on that but have not checked the status recently. I WANT TO SEE HIM FALL REAL HARD. THEN MAYBE HE WILL LEARN SOME HARD LESSONS ABOUT HIS SO CALLED "CHRISTIAN VALUES". Just recently he established this "charity" for homeless boys which is just a front to gain political money. I sincerely believe that we must be watching Arnold Swg. if it does happen that Bush/Cheney do not run. I am serious about this! Look at some of his recent travels and energy activities. Something very scarey is up with him. I think he was recalled in California for the purpose of becoming president very soon. It doesn't matter if he is voted in or voted out, if the elite want him he will be installed. Posted by: Beverly on June 12, 2004 05:07 PM

The reference by Jordan to a White House link with the military's scandal-plagued intelligence-gathering effort at the prison was not explored further by Taguba, whose primary goal at that time was to assess the scope of prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib. Apt name, eh? But he has made a lot of money out of it. I don't know how many of the pols at the "coronation" were supporters--Moon does tend to set up events that sound like a harmless awards ceremony etc. and turn out to be promotions for himself. The right-wing in this country have been in Rev. Moon's pocket (or visa versa) for years. My feeling is that the "journalists" who put out stories without a single clue as to their source and without any backup or hint of verification whatsoever, should be called on to explain themselves first--before the victim of the story is called to explain. Can you imagine the NYT printing a story that says "an individual" has told them Bush is considering so-and-so (name anyone but Cheney) to be the vice president? I don't think they would run that even though there are plenty of rumors that Cheney might step down. But Democrats are fair game. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/thirdparty.html Posted by: wv on June 12, 2004 09:01 PMBeverly, I am sorry that you are upset with my comments. The rumors about McCain have been all over the net for weeks. They are just that... rumors. John McCain is a senator. John Kerry is a senator. There are lots of reasons for them to have conversations, even though they sit on separate sides of the aisle. All things are possible. It is possible John Kerry could ask McCain, and it is possible John McCain could accept the spot of VP. I would be upset if that happened. But there is enough to upset me without my getting upset over unverified information. Beverly, you are perfectly free to support whom ever you want to... you commented that you are not happy with John Kerry, and won't be unless he supports a 100% liberal platform --- I can't address that. I don't even know what a 100% liberal platform would look like. You ask me to defend why I support a S&B member. I don't --- I support John Kerry, who happens to be a S&B member... he also happens to have Jewish heritage, he is also male, he is also white, he is also no longer a youth... he is also Catholic, he is also a Yankee, he is also rich, he is also intelligent, he is also hard working, and he is married to a woman who was not born in this country, who is very rich and very opinionated. He is also a father, and when he was single he dated Morgan Fairchild. I could easily go through that list and find one or two items that did not meet my ideal. But if the truth be known, I have never voted for someone who met my ideal because that person does not exist, and if she did she would be smarter than to run for President. As for Arnold, of course I realize that Hastert has attempted to introduce legislation. Frankly, I am more concerned with Arnold stealing CA for Bush than I am with his running for office in November. Sally was right on upthread when she pointed out that we are all dealing with our illusions dying. It is frightening and it probably feels as if the sky is falling, but it's not Beverly. I apologize if my comments offended you. My term disinformation did not apply to your comments about Arnold or any of your concerns about Kerry and his S&B membership. The man has not spoken about his VP. I will wait until HE does before I judge his choice. On this one, I truly cannot accept what someone else says. As for his list, in elections past, I have heard talk about short lists that never even contained the name of the ultimate nominee. Lots of games are played. The VP choice is in a way a chip the campaign uses to focus attention on Kerry and away from Bush. The same chip is used by Rove to discredit Kerry. For all we know, Kerry might choose a woman... I mean that is within the realm of possibility, isn't it? Or a Black or a Latino? Do we hear any mention of these candidates? Nope, nary a word. Just McCain, McCain... like a mantra. There was an article earlier this week about the possibility of Rudy G. being Bush's running mate so other news outlets are running such stories. I think it was discussed here to. There have been many ongoing discussions/articles for the last four weeks about this Kerry/McCain issue in the main stream news that I feel there is some credibility to stories no matter what side they are coming from. I can't bear to look at Kerry's site to tell you all the truth eventhough I am a liberal. At this point in time, I think everything he says unthruthful. I will remain open to having my mind and heart changed but am not hopeful that he can fix things. I am not impressed with his voting record. He voted for the war. If I become involved with political campaigning this fall, it will be to help elect a liberal senator or representative, not presidential candidate.I was hoping for a change to the "light" and I am sensing continued darkness for the near future. I hope it is just a temporary state with me as well as with our country. And Barb, I found your comments about Aquarius very interesting and tend to agree with you. We have a new Aquarius govenor here in Michigan, Jennifer Granholm, (democrat) and to me she represents the humanitarian side of Aquarius. She veto's everything our Republican Congress comes up with that is not for the good of all. I love her spunk. She is extremely concerned for the elderly. When she speaks, she uses myth, metaphor, and symbolism and I love to listen to her. When is the last time you heard a politician use mythology in their speach? Lincoln was excellent with his speech. So, I guess I'll just say what I always do: vote your "principles" if you must, but be aware that any vote that isn't one for the Democrat in the race is, in fact, a solid vote for another 4 years of Bush. Any Third Party candidate running is not going to get enough votes to overtake either of the two party candidates in the race, not yet. That time IS coming, folks, but it's not here now and your choices are clear. We can stick with a man who has done more to destroy America both at home and abroad. Or we can choose a man who, by his history, obvious intelligence and experience alone, will undoubtedly do a better job. Will there be a PERFECT choice this Fall? Of course not, because perfect means so many different things to different people. Honesty means different things to different people. And there will be those who will be disaffected regardless of what the candidate says or does, and be unwilling to be pleased with him/her. Again: a vote for someone other than the Democratic candidate this Fall is a vote for another 4 years of Bush. Unfortunately, I can't put it any plainer than that. But this June, from the shores of Normandy to Sea Island, Georgia, Mr. Bush is making concessions in an effort to bring the old friends, of Old Europe, back to the side of U.S. foreign policy. Publicly, it's working. The U.N. Security Council unanimously passed a resolution supporting the handover of sovereignty to the interim Iraqi government on Tuesday, as world leaders met in Georgia at the G-8 summit of leading industrialized nations. But in the corridors of the United Nations, people are skeptical, if not downright displeased, with current U.S. efforts to revive relations. The ardently independent President Bush, possibly the most unilateral of modern presidents, has estranged much of the world. And while polling has shown world opinion of the United States at new lows, it only takes a day at the United Nations to understand why the discontent runs so deep. Although they will not say it for attribution, those randomly interviewed want Americans to deny Mr. Bush four more years in office. They expect a rekindling of diplomacy, of statesmanship, if Sen. John Kerry becomes president. They have lost all trust in the Bush administration. Posted by: Pat on June 12, 2004 10:29 PMOh! A quick thought about Giulianni (sp?). I believe you'd see ducks playing chess before you'd see Giulianni (SP?) as Bush's running mate. Rudy doesn't play second fiddle to anybody, and I don't believe George would trust Rudy enough to NOT steal the spotlight when they're together. Despite what you may or may not have heard, the two men (with their two H-U-G-E egos) do not get along. And the ability of someone to kiss George's behind, stroke his ego and not disagree with him is more important than education, experience, honesty and talent in George's book. Rudy kisses no one's behind. It would never work. Besides I don't think Cheney would ever let it happen. Jonathan Posted by: Jonathan on June 12, 2004 10:33 PMJonathan, thanks. I'm in the same quandary as many others here. My hope is that some of the predictions made that In the meantime I think the best thing I can do and people who feel the same way I do can do is write the Democratic Party leaders and John Kerry Rumors? rumors are made to test the public's response such as Kerry's rumor that he might not accept the nomination at the convention so that he could go on fund raising. That was not just a rumor but the truth. And democrats were so disturbed by the plan, that Kerry dropped it - it was also said that was not for publication but leaked. I'm also disturbed that during the primaries he began to steal Dean's plans and platform when he saw democrats responded to it. Well why didn't he have those ideas to begin with? And will he drop them once he's in, since they weren't his original plan? It's a quandary: having to vote for someone you dont have full confidence in. I think the democratic party better do some re-thinking. Somehow I don't think Kerry is a sure thing to be the democratic nominee. Digital cameras. Those are his words, Not ours. Posted by: Pallas18 on June 12, 2004 10:48 PMMore Michael Lutin. VERRRY HEAVY STUFF ISLAM AND PLUTO IF they would only just go away. Quietly. If they would only just slink back into the woodwork and go back where they came from. We could all go back to living our lives peacefully. Happily. We could all return to our hassle-free existence and not have to shiver in fear of a bunch of hostile, aggressive, testosterone-drenched, heat-seeking death missiles in human form known as Islamic Fundamentalists. Well you can kiss that dream good-bye. The sleeper has awakened and the world has been plunged into an ideological revolution. Oh, you still have all your own private little worries to keep you up at night: career, health, money and love. You will still have to get the kids off to school or feed the cat or shovel the snow off your sidewalk and replace the gutters. And the daily chores that always seem to bog you down are blessed distractions from the magnitude and scope of what is currently taking place on Earth. As they pass by our planet in their flying saucers, the little green men are slapping their huge foreheads and speeding by. They want know part of this mess until it gets sorted out. And no matter how much Jovian spin the high-minded officials in government, military or media care to dish out, the events of September 11th will dominate the mood and thought for the next seventy-five years. Why? The first verses of the Quran were "disclosed" to the "prophet" while Pluto was in early Aries, and the entire codification of Islam occurred during the transit of Pluto in Aries. Islam, then is Pluto in Aries. If you have Pluto Rising natally or have ever experienced it by transit or , are a Sadge Ascendant right now, then you should know all about how Pluto in Aries could manifest on a global level. When Pluto either rises or enters the first sign of the Zodiac, you experience the surfacing of rage for all past repression. It kindles within you the fervent desire to be seen, heard, validated and obeyed. You are forced into a direct confrontation with mortality and must be willing to die for what you believe in. It is the need to overcome your fear of death at any cost and a welcoming of death if your needs are not recognized and met. It can be hostile and aggressive. All your primitive wishes and drives and instincts rise to the boiling surface and your behavior shows it. Your murderous instincts appear seemingly out of nowhere, for good or ill. You don't give a damn whether people think you're a good guy or not. You enter into the struggle for domination and even if you have to become the very thing you've always hated, you refuse to be subjugated. You reject your submissive role. You overthrow whatever regime you feel has been holding you hostage. Transiting Pluto is now hurtling toward the end of the Zodiac. Muhammad himself had Pluto at the last decanate of Aquarius–the current position of Uranus. The First Crusade took Place with Pluto in Aries. As Did one in the fourteenth Century. Never before has Pluto come toward Aries since it has been discovered. The twenty-first century, therefore, will see the first Pluto return of Islam since the discovery of that planet. It's not going to go away. Posted by: Pallas 18 on June 12, 2004 10:54 PM Jonathan, Gore, with that passion he showed at his last speech would be a spectacular answer. What a different man without all those handlers around him. I wish it could be. Sally may have something to say about a possible candidacy of Gore. When I have time to study his chart in depth I'll take a look. But it may take Vedic, Uranian, other kinds of astrology. Posted by: shylurker on June 12, 2004 11:23 PMMichael Lutin also puts on musicals, and as a matter of fact at National Council of Geocosmic In any case, here's some more Michael Lutin to think about: When the ruling planet of Aquarius comes to the end of the Zodiac, humanity as a whole has to make some major decisions about whether it wants to continue or whether it wants to commit suicide. Now if everyone were in agreement that, yes, life is worth living, let's make a deal, let's get down on our knees and repent, forgive our trespasses, invite all those who trespassed against us over for drinks and dinner, let's all make love and forget the past and take a midnight skinny deep together over in God's pool, ah, yes, this transit would be one hell of an orgy of champagne, fresh cherries and intoxicating kisses. Their anger and despair have overwhelmed them. Their own evil deeds have caused them so much internal and unconscious guilt that they will now commit mad and crazy acts to bring about their own destruction and the destruction around them. And they don't care. Their own madness clouds their thinking. They are caught up in a frenzy of tragic merry-making, as if this were New Year's Eve at the end of the world. They use up all their savings, cash in the bonds, move all their chips onto the red, up the ante, increase the risk eight hundred thousand percent. They know they can't go on any further. They've been caught red-handed, their hand in the cookie jar. Everyone in the world will be caught red-handed. Everything you have tried to hide from others and from yourself may have been successfully concealed until now, but secrets have eaten away like termites at your foundation, and over the next seven years, you must make restitution for all the self-destructive acts that you have committed in the name of pleasure or for all the self-destructive acts you may have caused to be committed on the part of others, either consciously or unconsciously in the name of pleasure. fearing surrender, will carry on their frenzied merry-making, because at midnight dawn seems so far away.
Forgiveness and love. Asking the Universe to guide you away from revenge or bitterness and rage– all of which only turn against you in the end. What seems to be unjust and unfair is the lesson to be learned. You may be left and abandoned and alone to wonder what cruel twist of Fate has left you one this dark road to hitchhike back to Light. You wonder how you could put your faith and dedication into a person, place or thing and to have yourself so blindly and totally fooled.
walking up that hill, and even then thinking, "Surely a miracle will save me now." And this, my Friends in Humanity, will be the only miracle to save you, me and all humanity over the next seven years. In the end God operates only through your heart. It is the only conduit from which all miracles flow. When you forgive those who beat you and hurt you, deceive and desert you, you rise again and live forever.
Does anyone know if there is an "official" chart for the CIA? I have certain doubts about Michael Ruppert, but this recent article about Tenet and the other top CIA official resigning at the same exact time that Bush met with a high-profile criminal defense attny sounds plausible to me. (Regarding the Plame affair.) The connections between Plame's CIA front office, ARAMCO and the CIA are VERY interesting. I would love to see how the CIA's "chart" jives with Bush's chart (and maybe Cheney's), if anyone reads this and has any interest... Wonderful cogent comments. And the passion! Don't you all think it is amazing we have this much passion with a relatively small amount of accompanying heat? Many times it feels like karma is a kind of consequence for poor, inadequate or just plain stupid behavior, and creating negative or hurtful events and that karma provides a kind of punishment or pay back ....when it fact, I believe, the concept of karma is far more altruistic in that its intent and meaning is to return to purpose from a path that is fruitless or harmful and make life fuller, richer and highly meaningful. In that context I think karma is then the force that has made it possible to understand the true meaning of our lives and by following karma reach our fullest potential. One of the easy ways to do that is, when having a poor experience it is an karmic indicator that purpose has been neglected or missed in some way and frequently a simple correction of returning to purpose corrects the karmic course. Karma knows purpose not payback. What do you think? Ann

If you really understand energy, just the change alone can be positive (or negative) but if Kerry (or someone else) gets there it's a shift from this creepy slimy energy we have now. It's not the who so much as the what. Right now all of our energy is taken up is being watchful of all that is being destroyed, leaving very little energy left over to make changes, we are just trying to inform people of the leaks, we have not had time to assess the damage. Posted by: sally on June 13, 2004 04:06 AMMike, thanks for the clue. found it by googling his 2000 prediction. Only fair to share it - the most That's enough to send us all back to our charts. Here's Lutin prior to the 2000 election: YOU THINK IT'S OVER? Well, it is, in some sense, although Gore's an Aries, and the more you reject him the harder he tries. He should probably concede and then as a private citizen become more powerful, respected and effective over the next four years than Bush will be (although that's not saying much). The media have been driving me crazy, just because I said the winner will be the loser and the loser will be the winner, and that the Israeli-Palestinian crisis will have tremendous bearing on the Presidency. I'm sticking to it. In fact, the phrase "The winner shall be the loser and the loser will be the winner" has at least three important meanings not just for the election but for the coming months. The whole thing has happened under the power of the planet Uranus in Aquarius. Do not predict the outcome of this whole thing. There are barrels of more surprises in store for everybody. As I have already said, Clinton was the last President elected under the old system. He came in under a Uranus Neptune conjunction near the U.S. Pluto. This means Constitutional changes. Also, currently the Moon's South Node is in Capricorn, also near the U.S. Pluto. With South Node in Capricorn, NOBODY IS DRIVING THE BUS.
And as far as the Israel stuff is concerned, just watch. Next August. More Saturn Pluto stuff between the US and the Middle East." how right he was. One other thing I loved about the pre and post candidacy of Dean was his talk of how it isn't just about the presidency. Bush has his power base because of the house and the senate. Chipping away, taking back those seats will be of enormous value regardless of who gets in this November/January. The president is just one person, there are aprox. 532 other people too. If you want to make a difference next time you run into someone that isn't gungho on kerry, direct them towards the other races. So what are you actually doing to make it more likely that Mr. Bush will be living in Texas next year? Are you working for a candidate, signed up with Mr. Kerry,Mr. Dean? Made a donation to a candidate you like and support? Soon we need to put feet to pavement, pens to checks and time into the cause or it is all just talk, talk, talk..... I go to Dean Meet Ups, I have given money and when Kerry is nominated I will sign up for his campaign and plan to do whatever I can to send Bush packing. The first Presidential election I worked on was for John F. Kennedy.....and I hope to work on many more. It is us that makes all the difference....believe it! Mr. Kerry is not candidate perfect....there is no such thing....but he is honest, sincere and loves America as much as I do. That's more than enough. What do you think? Ann Posted by: Ann on June 13, 2004 05:23 AMI'm off to Michigan to direct a campaign for a Democrat running for statehouse. Talking an complaining about Bush on this board is therapeutic and all, but unless you go out and act for the candidates or for a cause, you're just preaching to the converted. Fight for what you believe in. You know, I don't usually think of Bush as a tyrant, but the Latin phrase "sic semper tyrannis" randomly popped into my head the other day. Does anyone think the term applies? Why or why not? Posted by: Dave on June 13, 2004 05:45 AMDave, I don't know that tyrant is as fitting as "petty tyrant." Everyone has the ability to be tyrannical from time to time and then realize what they've been and sheepishly back down or apologize, Bush has all his planets on one side of his chart which makes it difficult for him to recognize how his actions impact people outside of his sphere, kind of like a two or three year old. His Sun Moon square indicates that he didn't see his parents working off the same page as it related to him and I expect he learned how to work one against the other when it suited him. George is kind of like the kid that seems to do nothing (Moon/Jupiter conj) and causes chaos all around him, thereby getting away with it. "Not my fault, I didn't do it." His Sun is also in an applying square to his Jupiter as well as his Moon, a belief that he has a right to stand outside the law because of HIS intent, it is all about him. He can take your land because he plans on doing something good with it (in his own mind) he can torture you because he is trying to get the bad guys. His Asc. is in Leo conj. Mercury and Pluto, he needs the spotlight on him and has lived a life where he could get the applause for no other reason than his name. He will become more and more tyrannical as the summer wears on. He isn't getting the applause, the spotlight is falling away and this last couple of weeks has been grueling. He was overshadowed at D-Day and by Ronald Reagan. His Mars (ruler of the mid-heaven) is in close conjunction to the fixed star Zosma and is associated with selfishness and meanness with an egotistical nature, because Mars rules his mid-heaven, close to Arcturus (a fortunate star) he is accustomed to getting his way by being mean with a smile. Kind of like a snake smile, you don't know if it will strike you or not and he has been able to get away with it for well over 50 years. Now the real-life drama will be brought to the big screen by Arkansas native Harry Thomason, who has produced a documentary film that explains how various personalities, motivations, and resources combined to create the anti-Clinton effort of the 1990s. The group, which calls itself Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change, will explicitly condemn Bush's foreign policy, according to several of those who signed the document. "It is clear that the statement calls for the defeat of the administration," said William C. This past week's over the top funeral and that dreadful display of Cold War days gone by and the old Russia that I remember from in Life Magazine only hit the point home to me even more. Posted by: bhakti on June 13, 2004 06:47 PMJust a short astrological question that I've always wanted to clarify: When judging the effect of a transiting planet or when comparing two charts, what is the range that the degree must fall within, in order to be considered activated? I have heard 5 degrees before and after the planet being looked at, and I have heard 8 degrees before and after. Lately, if I remember correctly, I have heard Sally say that in regarding to transits, the effect is activated only within a few degrees before and after. Or, is it activated only when it is directly on the degree the planet is in? I have always thought that once a transiting planet is within 8 degrees (or 5 degrees, depending on what standard you use) of a sign, its effects are felt and they get stronger as they approach the main position. As for chart comparison, I always thought an aspect was created when a planet, again, was either 8 or 5 degrees away from the planet it was being compared to. Thanks for any clarification you can give me on this. Sharon :-) Posted by: Sharon Katz on June 13, 2004 06:50 PMcliss, nice compilaiton of astro picks. i like reading the indian press. astrologers there seem to think bush is gone. with regard to who i REALLY trust in the prediction category, it's this site -- Salley and Nancy, Pallas18 and other contributors. when i read their articles i see a methodology apparent rather than an attempt at 'fortune telling.' there are also editorial standards in place in order to get published here (a 'refereed' astrology journal!). lutin, while delphic most of the time, is right. bush won't escape the white house but not in a literal sense. he won't escape what he bagan in the white house, what he did there, and what will follow him for the rest of his miserable little life: scandal, discrase, internaional court cases (maybe criminal inditements, certainly liability claims), and infamy. saturn return, saturn return, etc. ms. carol has no worry about trans gender/species phenomena. hey, bush! Hell Sharon. There are several things to consider first before the number of degrees. For the most part, aspects of every sort rarely happen separate from others and never in a vacuum. So it is important to look at everything that is going on. Also the inner planets Mercury and Venus and Mars seem to make their effect when closer to the actual transit than the big outter ones whose aspects seem to grow, flower and decay much like a plant. The making aspects tend to be more tense or intense than the departing aspects which produce more a sense of relief (waxing and waning) and if there is a three part aspects which occurs because the planet retrogrades and makes two or three times that must be considered too. That said....generally speaking I use this: Inner planets 3 degrees making and 2 degrees waning Outer planets: 5 degrees making and 3 degrees waning For the lights (Sun and Moon) I increase the inner planet timing aspects by 2 to meet the same as the outer planets. Except when aspecting themselves in the chart then I give them a making of 7 and departing of 6. To get an idea of how this works think back about the times around your birthday (when the sun returns to its natal position) and test your experience for repeats, timing and feelings. However, the important thing to remember is that the overall chart governs judgment and to read only based on a "rule" does not service the best possible result from reading a chart. Hope this is helpful. Ann Posted by: Ann on June 13, 2004 08:20 PMThe first word above should be Hello....I apologize. Just a quick thought ~ does anyone have any insight into Rush Limbaugh's chart? I feel like in the mass psyche these two fates are linked, those of George Bush and Rush Limbaugh. It's almost like these personalities are reflections of each other. If we can scryre into Rush Limbaugh's fate, we might also be able to perceive the fate of *ush. Andrew Greeley had an article in a Chicago newspaper the last day or two about our current US political situation resembling Germany in the late 30s. I think that Mercury transit is still in effect in my chart. Yakety, yak. Posted by: Barbara on June 13, 2004 10:05 PMThe shredding continues, step-by-step. Brace yourself, Jo! I found this so interesting; especially when I think about so many gun tote'n, bible thumping Republicans Last night my husband and I went to dinner with a good friend. He is a leading ad executive and has been a player in lots of big time advertising campaigns for major companies and corporations. Of course we discussed the Presidential race. He was saying how poorly Kerry is being “packaged” and what an incredible job the Republicans have done with “packaging” Bush. He suggested an article article; (listed below; It was rather long but I have paraphrased most of it) He said anthropologist Clotaire Rapaille’s theory of the Triune Brain has been used by the Bush handlers (I’d say Rove) and it has worked perfectly in selling Bush hook line and sinker to America. Our friend said Kerry or whoever becomes the democratic nominee “must,” appeal to the reptilian or Bush will win. I think the theory explains the example of a person like Pat Tillman-a full blown reptilian. I fully understand because my husband once upon a time was a professional athlete. Although Bush disgusts him, he is also more cortex and less reptilian. . . making him more balanced. But, so many of his old friends and teammates are really 100% reptilian. Thought the theory very interesting and how affective it would appear this “Reptilian Theory” has been used to promote Bush. The reptilian is very much into survival, instinct, reproduction. This is the part of the brain that isn't beset by ethical considerations. The reptilian brain is different in that it does not see nuance. In the reptilian, you're not a little bit pregnant either you are pregnant or you're not pregnant. You're not a little bit dead you're either dead or not dead. And some people, and it seems Americans more than Europeans, when they live in a world with a lot of confusion, they want to be re-assured; they want to be re-connected with the reptilian. (“Like after the WTC and now the war in Iraq”). Clotaire Rapaille states no matter what, the one that always wins is the reptilian brain. Americans in general like a good reptilian person. (George Bush) Then you have the limbic and the cortic. (That’s Okay too) But when you are cortex and there is a risk that you are only cortex, that's what people really resent. (Kerry) To win the up coming Presidential election Rapaille says the candidates should be interested in trying to connect with the collective reptilian brain. Rapaille maintains that packaging a candidate to sell to the American people is the same as when he was asked to package the Hummer. You are basically going for the same thing. In America the power of a brand and the connection people have with these brands are very powerful. If he were to assign a car brand to Bush and to Kerry-Bush would be a Hummer and Kerry a Hybrid. He thinks Kerry should package himself more like Bush has been packaged. Do good old boy types of things like they did in packaging Bush. As when they had Bush buy a ranch- a pickup truck. -Put a gun on the back and how they get him prepped in plain speak’n. Rapaille doesn’t want to turn Kerry into Bush but he says Kerry must get more connected with the reptilian and right now maybe Bush is more reptilian because he is less cortex. On the other hand Kerry is an intellectual and Americans don't like intellectuals. We're afraid of intellectual. Clotaire Rapaille reiterated no matter what, the one that always wins is the reptilian brain. Americans in general like a good reptilian person and that is the person that will win the election. Former diplomats, retired military leaders to call for Bush ouster -Former Diplomats, Retired Military Leaders to Call for Bush Ouster — Angered by Bush administration policies they contend endanger national security, 26 retired U.S. diplomats and military officers are urging Americans to vote President Bush out of office in November. Ann, Thanks VERY MUCH for the information. I'm assuming you were referring to transits. What about chart comparisons? What's the degree spread needed to consider two planets as making a viable aspect? All the Best to you, Kaye, fascinating! And one irony of this is that people like the Democrats understand irony/nuance and Repugs don't. And the greatest irony is that Kerry is, by experience, the strong leader, while Bush Jr is the wimp. Bush Jr. is the little kids' cardboard play version of the Hummer. Kerry is (pardon the expression) the real deal. But Kerry appears too refined for some of the general public to understand that. But another way to put it is that Kerry must present a very simple message. Posted by: Barbara on June 13, 2004 11:49 PMAnd heeeere's ANOTHER one . . . . . In the book, to be released Tuesday, Justin A. Frank, a clinical professor at George Washington University Medical Center, claims President Bush exhibits "sadistic tendencies" and suffers from "character pathology," including "grandiosity" and "megalomania" -- viewing himself, America and God as interchangeable. Frank told us yesterday that his opinions are based on publicly available materials, adding, "I've never met the president or any members of his family." This may in extreme situations be through hospitalizations or imprisonments for a period of time, and the [person] may learn through his own helplessness how ultimately impotent the personal will is against the forces of his own past which he himself has set in motion.” Liz Greene, Saturn, A New Look at an Old Devil (p. 31). WV - from your article above (you really should post a couple of paragraphs on the wonderful links you put up)It's a blockbuster: http://www.nationinstitute.org/tomdispatch/index.mhtml?emx=x&pid=1494 "...slide toward tyranny as the Bush administration tries to exempt itself from the rule of law." As justifications for torture, these are the sorts of documents one can imagine finding in the files of some grim third world dictatorship or maybe the former Apartheid regime of South Africa. As the Washington Post editorial page put it recently, speaking of the authors of such memos and their masters, "Theirs is the logic of criminal regimes…" Were it ever to be made the law of the land, our republic, such as it is, would quite literally be ended and we would face some kind of one-party dictatorship. Were its definitions of torture ever made the law of the land, every torturer on earth would shout hosannas to it. "
".. in December 2002 Donald Rumsfeld approved a very similar list of "interrogation techniques" right down to those dogs for Guantanamo: "U.S. military interrogators at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, could put prisoners in ‘stress positions' for as long as four hours, hood them and subject them to 20-hour-long interrogations, ‘fear of dogs' and ‘mild non-injurious physical contact,' according to [a] list of techniques Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld approved in December 2002." (The list was later rejiggered not because of any qualms Rumsfeld had but due to complaints from military officers about the severity of the methods suggested. The present list of approved techniques remains classified, but will undoubtedly soon be leaked to the press.) " "Among the most disturbing cases, perhaps unprecedented in U.S. history, are the detainees who have simply been ‘disappeared.' Perhaps out of concern that Guantánamo will eventually be monitored by the U.S. courts, certainly to ensure even greater secrecy, the Bush administration does not appear to hold its most sensitive and high-profile detainees there. Terrorism suspects like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, accused architect of the September 11 attacks, and Abu Zubaydah, a close aide of Osama bin Laden, are detained by the United States instead in ‘undisclosed locations,' presumably outside the United States, with no access to the ICRC, no notification to families, no oversight of any sort of their treatment, and in most cases no acknowledgement that they are even being held. Human Rights Watch has pieced together information on 13 such detainees, apprehended in places such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates, who have ‘disappeared' in U.S. custody." These are, in fact, documents of shame, symbolic of a kind of bureaucratic lawlessness let loose at the heart of our government. They are intent on creating a pseudo-legal basis for replacing the rule of law with the rule of a commander-in-chief. As Robert Kuttner put it in the Boston Globe, "For nearly three years, the Bush administration has resorted to the most preposterous fictions to define either locales or categories of people to whom the law does not apply. _ _ _ _ _ _ The trail goes up to Sanchez,(who lied to Congress) to WH Counsel Gonzales, to Rumsfeld and Bush. And some of the WH lawyers who wrote it are now on Appellate Courts and Federal Judges. They should be impeached. General Myers is worried about the Hague for himself. Oddly there is no mention of clever cheney. Posted by: Pallas18 on June 14, 2004 05:24 AMHello (got it right this time) Sharon. The degrees of orb for relationship and composite charts that I use are about the same and can be mitigated some by groupings of planets which almost always occur in composites and frequently in synastry. If I make an adjustment it is usually to accommodate unusual other aspects that are strong and the planets, light or angular point is drawn into the other aspects because they are in the neighborhood or have some other connection such as mutual reception or personal rulership of one of the parites. Hope this is helpful. Ann Posted by: Ann on June 14, 2004 05:30 AMthere is no question now that these are impeachable criminal offenses. And here's some move from a UK paper on more soon to be exposed about the criminals in the WH: "Scott Silliman, a former US air force lawyer and the director of the Centre for Law Ethics and National Security at Duke University, said: "What you have is a culture of avoidance of law rather than compliance with it." "Legal and constitutional experts have expressed astonishment at the judgments made by administration lawyers on interrogation techniques. In one memo, written in January 2002, Mr Gonzalez told President Bush that the nature of the war on terror "renders obsolete Geneva's strict limitations on questioning of enemy prisoners and renders quaint some of its provisions". Interrogation abuses were 'approved at highest levels'By Julian Coman in Washington New evidence that the physical abuse of detainees in Iraq and at Guantanamo Bay was authorised at the top of the Bush administration will emerge in Washington this week, adding further to pressure on the White House. The Telegraph understands that four confidential Red Cross documents implicating senior Pentagon civilians in the Abu Ghraib scandal have been passed to an American television network, which is preparing to make them public shortly. According to lawyers familiar with the Red Cross reports, they will contradict previous testimony by senior Pentagon officials who have claimed that the abuse in the Abu Ghraib prison was an isolated incident. "There are some extremely damaging documents around, which link senior figures to the abuses," said Scott Horton, the former chairman of the New York Bar Association, who has been advising Pentagon lawyers unhappy at the administration's approach. "The biggest bombs in this case have yet to be dropped." Ummm. I don;t think dimwit is going to get much of a boost from the Reagan funeral. Ron Reagan's (the son) shot at Bush* "Dad was also a deeply, unabashedly religious man. But he never made the fatal mistake of so many politicians wearing his faith on his sleeve to gain political advantage. True, after he was shot and nearly killed early in his presidency, he came to believe that God had spared him in order that he might do good. But he accepted that as a responsibility, not a mandate. And there is a profound difference." Posted by: Pallas18 on June 14, 2004 06:11 AMWe keep focusing on Bush, it's the US Chart that needs focus. While I agree with the post above regarding the work of Rapaille in the "Triune Brain" it will be the people who decide the person who best represents our safety and survival. George Bush did not win the election in 2000, and he has brought us to the brink of disaster economically, environmentally, and physically, no matter how they package him. Before Saturn gets to GWB's Saturn return and oppose the US Pluto in the 2nd house, it will conjunct the US Mercury in our 8th house, that is our economy. Thanks to the State's Dept. It fascinates me how we (including me) keep giving power to Bush instead of what is happening to America. These transits would have hit America no matter who was President. A young U.S. intelligence case officer was delivering reports gathered by his indigenous agents to a local U.S. artillery captain. One report was of a crude Viet Cong hospital in the jungle, within range of the captain's guns. We won't be hitting that target, the captain said. Why not? he was asked. Because we don't hit their hospitals and they don't hit ours, the captain replied. In those few words, he expressed a central reason why international norms of behavior in war are important: Although you are trying to kill each other, the Golden Rule still applies: You must treat others as you want them to treat you. Now comes the Bush administration, post 9/11, anxious to find a means of legitimizing torture and abuse that are outlawed both by U.S. law and by international treaties the United States has ratified. The effort is a despicable affront not only to U.S. and international law, but to the U.S. Constitution and to common decency. It also creates considerable risk for American forces in this and future wars: If the United States doesn't feel itself bound by agreed norms of behavior in war, why should anyone else? Excellent national reporting on this scandal has been overwhelmed the past week by attention paid to the passing of former President Ronald Reagan. That was understandable, perhaps, but now attention needs to refocus on what is arguably the most egregious attempt ever to redefine the power of the presidency, to, in effect, make the president a king in time of war. Two reports are at the center of this controversy, one from the Pentagon and one from the Justice Department. Attorney General John Ashcroft refuses to release the latter report to Congress even though he cites no legal justification for his refusal. His behavior is itself an offensive, and perhaps impeachable, attempt to redefine the constitutional power of the executive branch. The two reports, extensive portions of which have been leaked to the press, boil down to this: While the Bush administration has repeatedly said publicly that its treatment of detainees from Afghanistan and Iraq is in accord with international and U.S. law, its lawyers at Justice and the Pentagon, using pretzel-like arguments and definitions, have determined that the president can do whatever he wants, including the use of torture, to whomever he wants so long as he determines that such action is required as part of the war effort. He is constrained by neither the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, nor the Convention Against Torture, which says that "no exceptional circumstance whatsoever, whether a state of war or a threat of war, internal political instability or any other public emergency, may be invoked as a justification of torture." The administration lawyers also declare that there is nothing Congress can do to stop the president when he is acting in his capacity as commander in chief of American forces. The president's power is thus absolute. Taken together with this administration's unprecedented refusal to declassify the 24 interrogation techniques it uses against foreign detainees, the reports strongly suggest the United States now claims for itself, and employs, a right to use techniques of torture that it has fought internationally for decades to outlaw. The reasoning in the reports is not only wrong and immoral on the issue of torture, it seeks also to toss overboard the U.S. Constitution's division of powers among the three branches of government. As one observer said, the U.S. Constitution doesn't make the president a king, but these documents do. Even if the United States is not now using torture, as the administration publicly maintains, the very existence of these documents gives aid and comfort to existing and future dictatorial regimes worldwide -- and puts at risk American service people deployed in defense of this nation's interests anywhere in the world. Congress must put an arrow through the heart of the extraordinary claims made in the Pentagon and Justice Department documents. If they are allowed to stand, the United States becomes no better than the dictatorial forces of evil it has battled abroad throughout its history. It becomes a nation unworthy of the sacrifices borne by its brave service men and women. Perhaps that notion's not too far off base, seein' as how the USian/busch suns are in the same 13th deg of cancer. ;O) And "13" is actually such a wonderful number, too. (sniff) Posted by: JoannaOregon on June 14, 2004 07:22 AMWell, I've always said that it is our human want to place the blame, and that as Saturn got closer to our Sun (our ego) we, in this country, would not be happy and if we are not happy someone must be responsible, now who would that be? I know, that snot nosed, tyrannical, little dictator sitting in the WH and he isn't even supposed to be there. With any luck we will be able to throw the upsurper out on his ear and he can take all his buddies with him gnashing their teeth. But Jo, I do hope we as a nation will take a good hard look at ourselves and how we let this happen so it will be a very long time if ever that it happens again. Reading the articles above you can see that that is exactly what dimson and crew did do - marginalize Congress - take all powers to the Executive branch...I would be concerned more for And you said: "It fascinates me how we (including me) keep giving power to Bush instead of what is happening to America. These transits would have hit America no matter who was President." That's true Sally and I can see you're angry at what is happening too, BUT you know that if someone else had been president the reactions would have been different...there would never possibly have been an Iraq war - although there still would have been an Islamic uprising - and you also know that it is not giving power to dimson but as "Commander in Chief" he is happening to America - America's moves are his and vice versa (except for the people's planets and houses) Yes. The concentration has to be on dimson and the military houses now. But it will be interesting to look at the charts you have listed: "The first sitting in Washington was a joint session on 11.17.1800 at 9:00am. This chart has TPluto conj. Venus and TNeptune moving back toward a square to Mars (retro) The Senate is on the verge, if not steeped in being marginalized. TPluto conj. Venus (ruler of midheaven) for the 1st time in our history is a promise of the Senate and House needing to make changes." Needing to make changes, or being changed? Pluto/Venus = control or controlled? Congress controls money and that is their power. Something is about to happen. The exposes of torture. Something is about to happen and we need to look and see whether it is good for the people or not. The country is going to be broke - that damage is done. The question is, is the happening going to save further damage and bloodshed? and how much of the Blessed Be to that, Miss Sally. And, sadly, I'm thinking that our present & impending financial crisis will have more to do with "raising of the consciousness" than buschie per se. I do however always keep an eye on both the 1800 joint session chart in Washington and the April charts in 1789 because 1789 was when Washington was Inaugurated (there were actually 6 presidents before him from 1776 to 1789, I will look it up later but I think Washington was Inaugurated on April 30. I would like to add that the Washington Inaugural Chart was considered the chart of the Presidency by astrologers until the early 1900's, much as we consider July 4, 1776 the chart of the US. It was about 1910 that the shift was made from Washington's chart to the US chart that we started looking to that as the pick for presidents. Perhaps it was the result of Reagan's hands-off approach to the day-to-day dealings of his staff and Cabinet, but the Iran-Contra scandal -- the illegal trading of weapons to Iran for hostages -- became an indelible stain on his administration. Neoconservatives and adventurers -- criminal or not -- from Elliott Abrams to Richard Perle were purged. And judging from the recent activities of the Justice Department's special prosecutor, these Iran-Contra figures who did so much to damage the legacy of our 40th president are now poised to bring down our 43rd president. The final congressional report on Iran-Contra determined that Reagan bore "ultimate responsibility" for the criminal acts of his advisers.” One person not mentioned is the VP under Reagan, Geo. H. W. Bush. It seems to me no accident that the cabinet of the present Bush administration contains players from the Reagan years. The present Vice President was a player in the Reagan administration. It is erroneous to suggest that Dubya has been ‘led/influenced’ by the Neocons... he is a Neocon, as his father is... and more. Patrick, I'm assuming the message about Clinton just a couple of comments up is from you. Clinton is not my fave rave, either, but he did take actions that made sense and did not humiliate our country. Bosnia, for example, pulling out of Somalia, etc. He was up against enormous pressure and, apparently, his phenomenal ability to compartmentalize kept him going rather than disintegrating into an emotional wreck what with all the attacks being conducted by the ravenous wreckers in the Republican Party. (That they claim to be patriotic is mind-boggling, isn't it?) He certainly embarrassed himself, but that's a different issue. If our current Democrats in Washington can't get it together now and lead us back--quickly--to the rule of law as established in the Constitution, we are all toast. Mark Follman at Salon.com profiles Thomas Powers, author of "Intelligence Wars: American Secret History From Hitler to Al Qaeda." Powers argues that the war between the CIA and the Pentagon is a third war for the US after Afghanistan and Iraq. He gives as an example the CIA raid on the house of Ahmad Chalabi, a Pentagon asset who had been set up in that house by the Department of Defense, which had the effect of destroying Chalabi politically. Powers also sees the Abu Ghuraib prison torture scandal in the context of this internal war. He believes that Rumsfeld authorized military intelligence to "turn up the heat." He also thinks it likely that the Pentagon took Israeli advice on how to humiliate and break Arab prisoners. .... Powers charges that the Bush administration is responsible for what is perhaps the greatest disaster in the history of U.S. intelligence.

Posted by: Janet on June 14, 2004 06:34 PMSally, Dear VoteToImpeach / ImpeachBush.org Member, For the American people who support and defend the Constitution of the United States, who want to prevent further crimes by a lawless administration, who believe we can redeem our country in the eyes of those this government has assaulted and those who have witnessed this brutality and who dare to demand of future government leadership, NEVER AGAIN, Impeachment is Imperative. A decent respect to the opinions of humankind requires that we Americans should declare the causes which impel us to impeach. The Bush Cabal Has Subverted the Constitution President George W. Bush chose to wage a war of aggression against Iraq, which had not attacked the United States and presented no imminent threat to our people, or legitimate interests. A small cabal, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, Feith, Libby and Rove wrested decision making processes from established institutions of government to reinforce President Bush’s desire to seize Iraq, defying international institutions, the opinions of humankind and the rule of law to commence a disastrous criminal military adventure. War of aggression is the first offense listed in the Nuremberg Charter as a Crime against Peace. The Nuremberg Tribunal after hearing evidence of Nazi crimes in World War II convicted the leaders of waging wars of aggression, which it called “the supreme international crime.” At Nuremberg, the Chief U.S. Prosecutor, Robert H. Jackson, promised posterity that in the future all nations, including our own, would be held accountable for such crimes. President Bush and key administration officials engaged in a lengthy campaign of deceit, concealment and false propaganda to create support for, and acceptance of, its war of aggression by claiming Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, harbored terrorists, had close ties with and supported Al Qaeda and intended to attack the U.S., U.S. citizens and U.S. interests. A free society, democratic institutions and constitutional government cannot survive such deceit by its own government. The U.S. has made civilians and civilian facilities its direct object of attack. It has pursued assassination and summary executions as official policy. President Bush boasted of summary executions in his State of the Union message in 2003. Excessive and indiscriminate force and illegal weapons have been used. Many thousands of Iraqi citizens, whole families, women, children, elderly Iraqis have been killed as a result. U.S. military casualties exceed 5,000 including more than 800 deaths with many additional thousands returned to the United States for physical and mental illnesses. The U.S. has employed torture, including torture to death, rape and sexual assault and humiliation, as approved and ordered policy from Afghanistan and Guantanamo to Iraq, inflicted on thousands of prisoners, many, if not most, without any evidence of wrongful conduct. An admitted 37 human beings have been murdered while being held in captivity by the United States under these conditions. We know not how many more. All the mounting evidence makes clear that this program of torture and death is not aberrational conduct of rogue or undisciplined soldiers but is rather the policy adopted at the highest levels of the Bush/Rumsfeld chain of command. All this in violation of the Geneva Conventions, the International Conventions Against Torture, the laws of all nations and common human decency. Our Constitutional Duty To Impeach is Clear Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States provides: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, Shall Be Removed From Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Every American should choose whether to vote for impeachment entirely on the facts, straight up, or down, without political, or partisan fear, or favor. We owe this to the country, its future and our common heritage. Impeachment now is the only way we, the American people, can promise ourselves and the world that we will not tolerate crimes against peace and humanity by our government. Knowing what we know, to wait for the election is to tolerate what has been done and risk more. The conspiracy of deceit and the facts of criminal acts are crystal clear. They have been apparent all along. Now they are undeniable. Revelations of the criminal purposes of the Bush administration by insiders including former Bush administration Secretary of the Treasury Paul O’Neill and Chief Security Advisor on Terrorism Richard Clarke confirm what we knew. Evidence gathered by, and admissions made to, pre-eminent investigative journalists including Bob Woodward and Seymour Hersh, and torrents of media reports confirm what was in plain sight all along. The New York Times, with its presumed access to information, proclaims with a healthy candor that it was mislead by the Bush administration. In truth, the Times leadership supported the ends sought and the anticipated benefits of regime change. It remained uncritical of the false justifications given and criminal acts committed by the Bush cabal until the media reports of the means employed repulsed the public and the proclaimed values of the Times. The same is doubtless true of much of the media and the public. The remedy is greater rectitude, independent judgment and constant vigilance. The Bush Cabal Pursues Its Policy of Regime Change The Bush cabal continues its policy of regime change seeking to continue its control of Iraq by causing the installation of a man with also known, close ties to the CIA as Prime Minister of Iraq, among other U.S. paid agents, come June 30, 2004, thus assuring greater conflict as Iraq struggles for real independence and sovereignty. Former CIA agents have stated Prime Minister Allawi was responsible for fatal bombings of civilian targets in Iraq including a movie theater and a school bus during the 1990's. President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Secretary Rumsfeld and finally Secretary Powell all stated with supreme arrogance that the democratically elected Jean-Bertrand Aristide, President of Haiti, “must go” in February 2004. Then a U.S. Air Force plane flew the kidnapped President of Haiti to isolation in the Central African Republic in March using force and false propaganda of corruption and drug dealing to justify the destruction of a democratically elected government. The U.S. then installed a neo-Duvalierist of its choice as head of State of Haiti. Both CARICOM – the Caribbean community of nations and the African Union denounced the Bush administration actions. Meanwhile, the U.S.-installed government in Haiti is powerless, the country is paralyzed and former military, paramilitary and Ton Ton Macoute elements control major areas in Haiti and systematically assault Aristide supporters who remain the majority. Only Impeachment Now Can Prevent Further Lawlessness by the Bush Administration There will be more aggression before the November elections and more after, whatever the outcome, if the American people do not act now to impeach President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Secretary Powell, who has finally claimed he supported the war of aggression against Iraq and also who presented false information before the United Nations in its justification, Secretary Rumsfeld, and Attorney General Ashcroft, who has pervasively violated the Bill of Rights and appeased and condoned criminal acts by government, and other civil officers of the United States. A Major Statement for Impeachment Must be Made Before August – Join Now More than 400,000 individual Americans have voted for impeachment. Their votes have been communicated to Congress and the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives, which has “the sole power of impeachment.” Article I, Section 2, Constitution of the United States. Nearly all those who voted did so directly on the VoteNoWar.org / ImpeachBush.org website, at rallies, or from paper ballots distributed on street corners or in shopping centers and recorded here. Now it is urgent that we take the next step building on the groundswell of support around the country. The mass media rarely mentions impeachment. We must tear down the curtain of silence. A major campaign in the mass media can accelerate the impeachment movement. Last year ads placed in the New York Times the San Francisco Chronicle and other outlets in big and small cities stimulated the impeachment movement and reached millions of people. Funds are needed to place advertisements in major newspapers throughout the country. [See below for information to make a contribution.] Impeachment demonstrations and voting rallies can bring out new support. If successful, impeachment spots on TV could follow and thousands of volunteers on the streets seeking votes could multiply votes for impeachment. Such a campaign can force the House of Representatives to begin impeachment proceedings and the Republican Convention to face nominating George W. Bush as a liability in the November elections. Contribute Now and Vote Now to Impeach President Bush and Co. This is the most important vote you will ever cast – for integrity in constitutional government and honor and decency in U.S. foreign, military and domestic policy. Ramsey Clark Yes! I would love to see him take a greater role at the Executive level of government. Thank you, Ann, for your answer. I know many of you have been studying astrology & doing charts for years. I'm self taught in astrology and have used it and observed it in action for about 30 years but have never gotten beyond, probably, the advanced beginner level. What do you (any of you) advise for getting to the next level? I know there are numerous books and, possibly, good online courses. Early on, I started with the Rosecrucian correspondence courses but didn't get that far. If anyone knows of any good courses, please recommend them to me. I will also do an internet search. Thank you. Sharon Posted by: Sharon Katz on June 14, 2004 06:40 PMShylurker, I'm so sorry to hear you lost a petfriend. Astroworlders, Maybe I've found a mental path, and please everyone throw your $.03 in, but to me watching the news and connecting the dots (and especially, ESPECIALLY reading the comments, insight and perspective here) I'm pretty much convinced that the coup is well underway, or that it already happened in a sense. Bu$h and the cabal have too many enemies! They went from the offensive (well, they're always pretty offensive) to the defensive weeks ago. That shift, though it didn't happen with any fanfare, was extraordinarily significant. Bu$h is the pustule on the neoconservative virus. They imagined they could take over the body politic but our immune system has kicked in and it works. I'm not saying "relax" but Bu$h's days *are* numbered. He's screwed things up so "royally" he isn't trusted to run anything, even his mouth. Soooooooooooo the scary thing is that, presuming that Bu$h and his little "executive" powerplay are rightly dismantled, the question becomes who will be driving the truck in his stead? As the executive branch gets pulled apart and scrutinized, just who are we handing the country over to? Seems to me that it is in the new bosses best interests to keep the population nice and sedate and consuming. After all, the United States is a business, and the new management is going to want to make sure their customers experience as little discomfort as possible during the transition. So the mechanics of the coup are out of our hands in a sense. As a species, we've got some karmic dues that we need to pay, but that's a whole 'nother subject. I don't understand how people think that Kerry (IF it plays out in this way) will take the White House and then things will go back to "business as usual." There IS no business as usual anymore. I'd say that as a general rule people are actually MORE in tune to the political process now than they have ever been. Bu$h has inspired tons of people (for whatever reason) to get active and involved in the political system and it's only going to get more intense as time stretches on. Is it plausible that if Kerry was in office people would stop paying attention and back off? I don't think so. Whoever ends up in the White House is going to have to factor in thousands, more than ever before, informed, interconnected and opinionated individuals just aching to exercise their right to be heard. "Activists" and others are frothing at the mouth for a more sensible, directly representational system of government. Is that going to go away with a regime change? This community is not going away. We ARE the ocean. Whatever games they play, whatever scenarios they create will ultimately be washed over and shaped by US. There maybe a gulf between us and the government, but people are evolving, technology is evolving and everything is rapidly converging. Look to the horizon. I recognize the madness of Bu$h for what it is. It is the last desperate grasp of greedy, despicable people to clench their fingers onto a failing government system/economic niche/perception about ourselves and our world. Yes, Bu$h has caused death. Yes, he has delivered our republic a blow from which we will NEVER find our way back to what we were before. We only have two choices, in my opinion. We can scream and wail that our way of life is changing, or we can look at these changes as a blessing, jump the hurdle, remove the cancer and face the future with an open embrace. Sally is quite right, all we are doing, CAN do, now is assess the damage. Soon the time will come where we can repair the damage and begin the healing process. That day will come and rightly soon. Hold the image in your minds. We have just begun. I welcome the future. It's 4+ months 'til November, and even tho' the mainstream press is beginning to pick up the threads of truth, their tapestry won't be woven overnight... this week promises to be interesting but will the 'swing voters' get the picture? Sharon, you must be reading my thoughts! I so admire Rep Henry Waxman, a courageous man... I was thinking he would make a fine VP for Kerry, but we need him where he is right now... but this man is a rising star and we should very soon see him in the top group... nice to know others appreciate him... If Bush/Cheney are indicted for Plame or impeached Rep Speaker of the House Hastert would be next... I don't know that that is an improvement, but he would be acting only as a caretaker... if it happened before Sep Rep Conv they would choose someone else of course for the ticket... McCain would be a guess... But then again, who knows... One thing I see for the scenario as we have it at the moment, Bush v. Kerry, is that while the media is beginning to address the problems in the administration, they are bashing Kerry. "The Washington Post takes stock of John Kerry's candidacy and concludes that even though he has broken fundraising records, is leading President Bush in national polls, has united various factions of the Democratic Party to an extent few expected at this point in the race, and is doing better than Al Gore was in 2000 on several fronts -- he's in trouble. The potential danger ahead for Kerry stems from "an ambivalence -- or angst -- about their presidential candidate that belies this strong ..."The chief reason: The senator from Massachusetts, they say, has not crisply articulated what a Kerry presidency would stand for beyond undoing much of the Bush agenda." ------------- Well, duh, wouldn't undoing much of the Bush agenda keep him pretty darn busy! Weve got some people so busy stirring the pot of discontent in the Demo camp, while they need to protect this country from the subversive actions of the Fascists in the administration! December 2000 I said to my father, "America will rue the day George W. Bush became president. Problem is, I will have to 'rue' it with them... we are all in this together... even the Repugs will be affected (sorry folks, there won't be a Rapture... no rain check either)... We need a major change in the political system... but we need someone in the White House to help keep the framework from falling all around us while we rebuild the house. Anarchy would be awful, don't you think? I mean think of these folks who want to move to South Carolina and secede (we been there, done that, ain't doing it again!)... are they bringing their guns? During the Revolution, some of my ancestors were Tories. They lost their land at a minimum... some were hanged... y'all get the picture, I'm sure... we need a peaceful revolution... guess I'm dreaming, huh? Anyway, I've been wondering. Do we really in this day and time, actually need a President, an Executive? Something to chew on... Namaste Sharon, Namaste Posted by: Jo on June 14, 2004 07:38 PMLast post, I promise! Thanks, Pallas & Jo. I guess it's a combination of reading, doing, and doing more. I guess most of the info is out there and even online. The part of the basics I need more knowledge & practice in is the aspects. Things like sextiles, inconjuncts, quinicuixes (?) (sorry, it's something like that)... I'm now taking an online course for my real estate license and find it a great compromise between learning from a book (VERY DETAILED) and learing in class (SIMPLIFIED). I find learning astrology in books a little overwhelming as there's so much. As far as how aspects apply, from observing it in my own life, I agree with Robert Hand that it depends on whether you')ve been doing the right things (how evolved, mature you are). Trouble is, it's not always easy to tell how evolved another is. Jo, thank you for the compliment. I have bitter Dommael: thank you for your comments. That's what One small prediction: Whichever way it goes in As for REAL change, wait until Pluto goes into Pallas18 and Janet you are obviosly missing my point. Remember when Dean, however clumsily, asked the stupid rednecks why they vote against their own best interest? Remember Edwards' response that Southerners didn't need some Northerner to come and tell them what to think? That's the problem with the Democrats- we consume our own while our enemy looks on and laughs. Look at who we have as our Presidential nominee. I keep hearing that he is constantly relaunching his campaign or modifying his position like saying he would be open to appointing pro-life judges on lower courts----------as if there will be any vancancies after Bush has had three and half years to pack the courts with his right-wing wackos with barely a whimper if anything from spineless Democrats. The main problem with the Democrats is that they have been brainwashed by the Right and are cowering in fear of losing in November. It seems WASHINGTON (AFP) - A US prison guard who was photographed holding a naked Iraqi detainee by a leash at Abu Ghraib prison faces a hearing June 22 to determine whether she should be tried by a court-martial, the Pentagon (news - web sites) said. Gosh Patrick, I totally agree with you!!! Jo: I read your comments to me and, as usual, found them very thought provoking. Thanks for responding. The "100 percent liberal" platform that I want Kerry to take is exactly similar to what Patrick is describing above. All the "back and forth" shows tremendous inconsistency, right when the Democratic Party needs all the consistency it can get. He claims to be a Democrat, but acts and speaks like he could switch parties very easily. If he continues in this manner, I think it will adversely affect his integrity and credibility with liberal voters, perhaps to the point that they stay home. Posted by: Beverly on June 14, 2004 09:06 PMPatrick, Rage on, angry young man! It's okay to be angry. But what are 'you' doing about it? Are you working at the local level, sending emails to Kerry or Congress? I don't ask to be smart-mouth, but to truly ask if you are involved. The definition of 'politics' is to seek resolution through negotiation --- you see Kerry as being flip-flop (you didn't use those words, but it was the message I got)... you don't like his 'changing' --- but I find it refreshing... he's listening to others... trying to accommodate. This election is CRITICAL... (if we have one)... the Demo candidate has to reach out to every side... cut him some slack, please. As for the party, of course it needs change... but leaders don't do that... we the people do... I for one think multiple parties would be great... then candidates would actually have to work for a vote... as for Demos not embracing Blacks... that's not my perception, but I'm white. They have in the past embraced Blacks, and that is precisely the reason the party lost so many white males in the 70s... the bigots fled to the Repubs, particularly in the South. Not much of a loss in my opinion, as who needs bigots, right? Anyway, IMHO our only hope of getting the Neocons out of the White House and the government is Kerry. That is my take at the moment. So I find it nonproductive to bash the Demos or Kerry. Do I think they're perfect? Heck no, not even okay. But considering the alternative, they are WONDERFUL. Many of us on this board seem to find ourselves addressing this issue on almost a weekly basis... it comes in waves... usually about the time it looks like we've got BushCo. in a net... I hear your frustration, but I really can't persuade you or change your POV. It is not a perfect world, in fact our part of it is pretty screwed up right now... but as Corleonis said what we need now are Patriots (and I don't mean Ashcroft's definition of one)... just a suggestion... go to crisispapers.org and click on Library and read the Bill of Rights and Constitution and see how much is gone as a result of the Fascists in this administration. Then see how you feel about the Demos. Having Kerry in the White House will give us back our country... it will be a mess, but hey, people watch too much TV anyway... they can start cleaning up the system. Our children and grandchildren are counting on us. Saturn is helping... retribution is coming. Namaste Posted by: Jo on June 14, 2004 09:07 PMPatrick, With all due respect, I believe you're not as informed about Kerry's speeches as you think you might be. He's made his positions very clear and doesn't waver dramatically from them. Like any intelligent person, as more info comes to him, he'll amend what he might do. But what you're talking about sounds like the "flip-flopper" the Republicans would like you to believe he is. Are you ready to be used as political fodder for the Repugs hate machine? And backbone? I think anyone who can run for President and weather the inevitable (and often misinformed if not downright dishonest) storms of a "liberal" media has to have some backbone, don't you think? A political campaign isn't one where you have freedom to say anything you wish. Someone who did that would last all of 5 minutes. Should it be different? Of course. Will it be this Election cycle? No. The goal, I'm confident in saying, is wrestling the Oval Office out of the slimy hands of the Neo-Cons. I think that we can all agree on. Or kiss the possibility of returning to any semblance of what we knew as America goodbye. You seem pretty opposed to Kerry and I believe that's coloring your view of him. And if you want another 4 years of Bush, feel free to vote for Bush. But slamming the Clintons or slamming the "Democratic Party" is, in effect, slamming the people who work hard every day, day after day for many years, to try and build a government that those who are angy or frustrated like you could hopefully believe in. My suspicions now, of course, are that even then you wouldn't be satisfied. And that's okay. It's all part of the journey we've each undertaken this life, you know? Peace. Jonathan Posted by: Jonathan on June 14, 2004 09:21 PMThis is from a hard-hitting article that contains words and thoughts that might make you wince, but it does address the harsh socio-economic class structure we have that contributes to horrors such as Abu Ghraib: A quote: "Lynndie England never had a chance. Abu Ghraib, or maybe something even worse (an RPG up the shorts, for instance) was always her destiny. Nearly half of the 800 Americans killed in Iraq to date came from small towns like hers, like mine. Forty-six percent of the American dead in Iraq came from towns of less than 40,000. Yet these towns make up only 25% of our population. Most of the young soldiers were fleeing economically depressed places, or dead end jobs like Lynndie had at the chicken processing plant. These so-called volunteers are part of this nation's de facto draft---economic conscription. Money is always the best whip to use on the laboring clasess. Thirteen hundred a month, a signing bonus and free room and board sure beats the hell out of yanking guts through a chicken's ass." I think it wonderful that we all here have a connection to spirit and wish to express our passions in a safe, supportive environment. With that said, I would like to respectfully ask you Jonathon, to please stop dissing others for their misgivings involving Kerry's intentions and motivations. I feel this very deeply myself, and when others voice it, I would rather discuss the aspects of why, than to immediately be reprimanded for thinking this way. The Roxanne "thing" still bothers me because I think she felt safe enough here to voice her concerns, and even though we all felt hurt that she attacked Sally, I understood where she was coming from on her opinions about Kerry, and I think there are many people who have these feelings that shouldn't be summarily dismissed, but examined. I think our personalities and objectivities are enhanced by dealing with perspectives we don't agree with, and that it is beneficial to everyone involved to be allowed their voice. Sorry if this sounds kind of disjointed but I really wanted to say something about this and if I edit, I might not even post it? Thanks. This transit is a very powerful maturing influence in the most positive sense [mature or follow the path of the Dodo bird]; in other words, you become wiser now than at any other time in your life [hope for growth from our harsh teacher]. But you have to be fundamentally open to this process…there is the likelihood that you will become increasingly involved with foreign persons or lands [Iraq and everyone who dislikes us] either in your business or your personal life...The effect of this transit is to make your consciousness grow so much that you can no longer live with your old prejudices and beliefs. You must know rather than just believe, and the more you can replace belief with knowledge, the better off you will be [we are driven by necessity].” I realize that mundane astrology is different than personal astrology. We are, after all, a nation that has given the legal status of ‘person’ to corporate entities in our legal system. How is that for boot-strapping? In any event, the 9th Jupiter transit looks like it came along just in time. We get a close look at our shadow as does the world. And that's what's wonderful about life! But (and I've just read what I wrote to Patrick) I don't see that I dissed him or anyone who may perhaps disagree with me. But, again, I apologize if you were in some way made uncomfortable by my previous post. On the other hand, Peg, it's mind boggling that you can in one sentence extol the virtues of having a safe and secure environment and then, in the next breath, ask me to please edit myself. I made no mean-spirited personal attack, I didn't insist others vote like me ALL IN CAPS and I wrote with the understanding that there might be some disagreement, but, perhaps because of this, we could learn something from each other. Isn't that what you made mention of at the end of your Post? We all want the same thing and, as long as we don't personally attack one another (and I'm not suggesting I feel attacked by you or anyone else at all!) and treat everyone's choices and political leanings with respect, I believe we can still have the "safe and secure environment" you spoke of. DeLay to Be Subject of Ethics Complaint Rep. Chris Bell Will Accuse House Majority Leader of Multiple Violations A Democratic congressman plans to file a wide-ranging ethics complaint today against House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.), shattering the remnants of a seven-year-old, unwritten ethics truce between the two parties and possibly nudging the House back toward a brand of political warfare that helped topple two speakers. The 18-page document has three components. Westar: Officers of Kansas-based Westar Energy wrote memos in 2002 citing their belief that $56,500 in campaign contributions to political committees associated with DeLay and other Republicans would get them "a seat at the table" where key legislation was being drafted. Bell's complaint says DeLay "illegally solicited and accepted political contributions in return for official action," but DeLay has said he did no such thing. TRMPAC: Bell repeats earlier claims that the Texans for a Republican Majority Political Action Committee, created by DeLay, laundered $190,000 in corporate donations through the Republican National Committee, which sent $190,000 to Texas GOP candidates. State law bars such candidates from using corporate donations. DeLay and other Republicans deny the charges. Federal Aviation Administration: Bell's complaint says DeLay "improperly used his office" when it asked the FAA to help locate a private plane last year. The plane was thought to be carrying Texas Democratic legislators who were preventing a quorum that Republicans needed in Austin to pass their contentious redistricting plan. DeLay has denied any wrongdoing. More: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A41568-2004Jun14.html Shylurker, I'm glad you love animals, Pat. Anne, you said: Okay. What do you think it says? Posted by: Pallas18 on June 15, 2004 06:06 AMI think these parts of this chart are very interesting. The absence of major aspects....the strongest being the Mercury/Pluto conjuction. A strong indication of communication by secret ruling second of values and fourth of parents (father?) and endings(angular). The Moon close to a conjunction of Mr. Bush's natal Sun. A new beginning...in this case much hoped for (11th house) and at home in Cancer. Saturn, Mars and the Sun make a loose yod that represents a big gamble (fifth house) and interntional arena (9th house). The Venus (ruler of the 3rd of communication generally) is conjunt Neptune ruler of the 8th of shared values and placed in the sixth house speak to the religious aspects of Mr. Bush's tenure especially in trine to Jupiter in the 10th of public image. He has looked upon integrating his personal religion into his job (6th) as President. However, the sextile of Uranus and Mars to the Sun (ruler of the first in this chart and Mr. Bush natally) would indicated a secondary theme of sudden international events (Mars rules the 9th) and probably culminating in a bad outcome as Mars is poorly place in Libra (sign of the law, incidently which may be Mr. Bush's "fall"). Saturn here is powerful as she is in Earth and at the mid-heaven (a natural location for her). Sun is equally strong by sign and placement (though she is in the house of Cancer and Fire and Water frequently create steam). Since Saturn is the "shot" in this yod (sling") and is the co ruller of the 7th, it would appear that the outcome of the yod when it is triggered on one of the points will be 7th house issues of relationships and probably, in this case, open enemies. So the thing to watch for in the outcomes of this chart would be whatever ticks off the yod, IMHO. Marsh is right there and Saturn is approaching a square to Mars in this chart. Earlier in this thread Sharon asked about studying astrology and I think this is the best kind of chart for study as it gives the astrological information in relation to events that are well know and easily identified. By looking back and analyzing a chart it is easier to hone skills than trying to project into the future. What do you think? Ann Posted by: on June 15, 2004 08:15 AM

I think I first saw this in Salon a year or more ago: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/15/opinion/15KRUG.html Travesty of Justice ?o question: John Ashcroft is the worst attorney general in history. For this column, let's just focus on Mr. Ashcroft's role in the fight against terror. Before 9/11 he was aggressively uninterested in the terrorist threat. He didn't even mention counterterrorism in a May 2001 memo outlining strategic priorities for the Justice Department. When the 9/11 commission asked him why, he responded by blaming the Clinton administration, with a personal attack on one of the commission members thrown in for good measure. We can't tell directly whether Mr. Ashcroft's post-9/11 policies are protecting the United States from terrorist attacks. But a number of pieces of evidence suggest otherwise. First, there's the absence of any major successful prosecutions. The one set of convictions that seemed fairly significant — that of the "Detroit 3" — appears to be collapsing over accusations of prosecutorial misconduct. (The lead prosecutor has filed a whistle-blower suit against Mr. Ashcroft, accusing him of botching the case. The Justice Department, in turn, has opened investigations against the prosecutor. Payback? I report; you decide.) More... Posted by: Pat on June 15, 2004 01:25 PM

Repeat, repeat, repeat, and drown out all other information. http://salon.com/news/feature/2004/06/15/foreign_reporters/index.html Reporters in chains The Department of Homeland Security has started enforcing an obscure provision in immigration law requiring foreign journalists to seek special visas before entering the United States, even though their nonreporting countrymen can enter without any visa at all. Last year, at least 13 foreign journalists were detained and deported at U.S. airports -- most in Los Angeles -- according to the advocacy group Reporters Without Borders. At least one more journalist was similarly turned away this year after being detained, interrogated and strip-searched. Why does the "land of the free" need to specially monitor and control the flow of incoming journalists? "Considering the fact that the United States has never licensed journalists, that in the United States anyone can be a journalist and that because most countries that require special visas for journalists tend to be totalitarian states, I think it's kind of stupid," said Lucy Dalglish, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. Under the Visa Waiver Program, citizens of 27 countries -- predominately from Western Europe -- can visit the U.S. for up to 90 days without first getting a visa. Among the questionable characters ineligible for visa waiver are convicted criminals, people with communicable diseases, suspected terrorists, slave traders -- and reporters. However, according to journalist advocacy groups, the law lay dormant until March 2003 when the Department of Homeland Security formally incorporated the Immigration and Naturalization Service and suddenly began enforcing it. (A spokesman for DHS said that while he could not cite specific cases, he did recall it having come up in the past.) More.... How could anyone as intellectually powerful as Nixon make so many mistakes without intentionality attached? With Bushboy, there are two phases in his attack on his father, both motivated by his 12th house (house of “ignorance”) Saturn, his “least aspected planet” (with only a square to the ASC). The first phase was his dissolute life-style until he was 40. His father survived this and helped his son out of a number of jams. The second phase began with what looked like a turn-around; Bushboy found religion, “sobered up,” and became our grand leader. My theory is that his 12th house Saturn isn’t finished. The second phase of the attack on the father is about to conclude spectacularly. Bushboy did everything he could to counter his father pattern of international and domestic relations. A strong argument can be made that on an unconscious level, he did this with the inevitable results we have now: the nation shamed, his father distancing from him, and, most importantly, the *end of the Bush Dynasty*. This last outcome is the most significant and the point at which Bushboy figuratively nails his father just where it hurts. The gene pool of subsequent Bushies will be hard pressed to have any bounce from the name/family recognition after the pResident gets finished trashing the family name. If Bush were a genius he could have overcome this with great effort. He’s not. If he just had a few planets in the 4th house (of family memory) to take the edge off he might have turned out different. I believe that the 12th house, lonely Saturn is the cosmic set up for Bushboy to undo all the efforts from Prescott forward. He may leave and live in shame but he will always know that he brought the family so low it will never recover. Interesting Mike. Posted by: Pat on June 16, 2004 03:24 AM
