Thanks, Sally! I am also worried a bit about the White House and several other big republican newscasters all seeming to push Kerry. The Skull and Bones connection has me very cautious about Kerry. As I posted under another article here it would be good for all to take a look at the AquaSoul site: www.AquaSoul.com and read the really great article on Skull and Bones there. It has made me take a closer look at things where Kerry is concerned. I tend to get very cautious when I see some of these Repubs starting to push Kerry ... may be something to watch there. Thank you for another great article and your time and efforts on this site!

My gut still tells me that in the big, long term picture Dean will change this country more than Kerry, even if Kerry becomes president. As far as the skull and crossbones thing, I think Kerry's experience in vietnam may have tempered any close connection he had with wealthy powerful selfish cliques. His wife seems pretty genuine in humanitarian inclusiveness type views and that says a lot about his inner self. In fact, the more I think about it, the next few years will be incredibly difficult cleaning up after the bush cartel mess. And there will be a scapegoat required for all those that think the president can solve all problems in just a couple of years. In my opinion, it might be better that Kerry to be on the firing line with the good doctor working for change behind the scenes.

Siobhan, I've been researching the Skull and Bones society since the mid-eighties because I had researched the Bildeberger Group, Illuminiti, the John Birch society since 1963 and they all led me to the Skull and Bones. I would feel much better about Kerry if he would say he had been a member and it was childish or dangerous or something. The Skull and Bones goes back to the mid 1800's and was a spin off of a secret organization that was being thrown out of Europe because of the problems they caused. Lately there have been two or three very good books written about the Skull and Bones.

If Kerry turns out to be the Dem candidate I will vote for him just to shake up the Bush organization, but I do know that Kerry cannot win without the help or permission of the alumn of the Skull and Bones, if you read the alumn list (and it's published) you will see that they are the very people who "own" America.

Thanks again, Sally! I intend to throw my vote to which ever Dem candidate gets the nomination - anything to get Bush out. But, I wonder about Kerry not being able to win without the help or permission of the Alumn of Skull & Bones ... was not Bush a member also? How then does this work, they surely can't throw their support behind both of them at once and I would think they would want to keep "their Boy" in the White House for another term! It's not just about Bush, their influence covers the entire world, Bush has created a rather large gap between us and the world. They have to balance the pros and cons of Bush. There have always been two thoughts about how to control people, one by force and one by having benevolent dictators, it's always a balance. The question will be if Bush has upset the balance.

it makes me suspicious that he just laid back, being called the obvious candidate from the get-go, losing it, then all of a sudden BECOMES the leader..hilary is for him, which leaves a bad taste in my particular mouth (sorry jonathan). and all this..plus of course that he voted for the war, claiming he's like the 'people' and was mis-led...believe me i want it all to be innocent, that he really was misled, bullyed, and really is sad at nite that more soldiers die every day, and really wants to wip bushies tushie..but i can't help but suspect, as i did in 2000 and got possibly confirmed when gore conceeded, that this is all FIXED. fixed against the american people. kerry is a proper politician, meaning he'd concede to a steal, and then there we are, with bush again for another 4 years, turning our country into a mirror of n korea: impoverished, no freedom, with loads of military strength.

Roxanne, I don't think there is a person alive who doesn't have some "sleeze" in their chart, most of us try to control those impulses, that's maturity. Kerry has alot of Gemini and Gemini's are known for talking out of both sides of their mouth, and that Sag Sun opposing his Gemini might expand that problem, however my best friends are Gemini's and Sag's and I find them delightful, youthful, curious, great networkers and extremely resourceful.

Gemini is the sign of genius and insanity and every Gemini I know heartily agrees with that assessment. He has Venus in Scorpio square Pluto so he struggles with jealousy at times, however with his Mars in Gemini that tendency toward jealousy could have the affect of keeping him faithful and we don't need another politician with hidden sexual issues. He has been through a couple of life altering events, Vietnam and prostate cancer so I expect he's had a lot of opportunities to face the truth of himself and that is never an easy task, but one that is necessary if one is ever going to step into their power.

With Venus square Pluto I would say he hasn't had any choice but to face the worst of himself and transform his flaws into strength and healing. He is certainly more aware of people and their issues than GWB who lives in a bubble of illusion and lack of caring or interest, none of these candidates live in the tight self-absorbed world that GWB lives. But is he perfect no, he is not, and I will certainly check and follow up on everything he says.

Kerry's Mercury and Mars sextiles his North Node and that's a good sign for him. Whoever wins in Nov. will get blamed for all the problems that were set up this last 4 years. I heard someone say that there were high powered Dems who didn't want a Dem win this time, they wanted the next four years of Republicans grinding the country into the dust and then ride in on the white horse to take it all back into their hands. Could be true.

By the way, don't let the "boogymen" scare you they have been operating in this country since Teddy Roosevelt (the first time a Bonesman occupied the White House) however they were a force by the time of the Civil War. We are just the latest generation to learn of them. On election day, Venus will be at 4 Libra 49. My natal Saturn is at 4 Libra 38. That sounds like disappointment to me, but I'm not sure.

Kerry is my least favorite of all of them so I hope that I will be able to connect with him if he gets the nod. For sure, I will vote for anyone against Bush but I think we need a more passionate candidate - someone courageous enough to make broad changes.

The Skull & Bones thing does not worry me but it would be nice if Kerry would come out and dispel our fears.

Kerry isn't my favorite either but he wasn't my least favorite so I'll vote for him, but this AM Kerry said "the White House has already started attacking me and that proves I am the person they are most afraid of in 2004." I thought that was a pretty strange statement and if the Dems have identified their one big issue from NH as "just get Bush out," they will make a big mistake and can look for a backlash. They need to keep feeding the US the facts with a side issue of beating Bush. The Dems need to articulate WHY we want Bush out of their, it isn't just because we don't like his smirk.

Janet and Bill you are both so very right. I noticed that mid-point on election night but haven't looked at Bush's midpoints or America's midpoints. This is going to be a long year and I also hope Dean can pull out and that someone can offer us real leadership, offer this country leadership, I haven't seen that yet. There is never going to be a "perfect" candidate for President; at least I have never found one. The turning point for Kerry came when Ted Kennedy endorsed him. That is when his numbers started going back up in the polls. Ted Kennedy has been the most voluble voice in the Senate to oppose Bush and his policies, and I feel that Kerry is the closest thing to having a Kennedy run for office, maybe because he's from the same neck of the woods. I must confess that I'm totally ignorant about the Skull and Bones org. that everyone is talking about, so I don't know what the connotations are for Kerry, but I think he's level-headed, and will make a good President, and he has stated his case against Bush, though not as forcefully as Dean. Dean is a good grass roots candidate, but I think his temperament is much too volatile to hold that office, and he confirmed suspicions about this by his after the Iowa caucus speech, and by proceeding to attack Kerry on certain issues. Don't expect him to give up the fight easily. He's a Scorpio, so it will probably be a political fight to the death for him. He wants to be President and will settle for nothing less. I am beginning to like John Edwards more and more as he speaks about the issues, and he appears genuine, but I think Kerry will win the nomination. Look for the Repubs to start attacking him soon, so all that was hidden about Kerry will be coming out for sure. You can bet that they will spare no effort to dig up the dirt on him. Liberman is out of the running, and there are too many doubts about Clark's past loyalties, but I think he'll settle for a post in the new administration. I still have not had the time to read all the excellent articles posted here, but I expect things will be heating up here as we move closer to the elections.

Crystal: Dean's temperament is not volatile - this opinion is a product of the media. His wife thinks he is incredibly gentle. He is passionate and that is his "weakness." And in his caucus speech he was speaking to hundreds of screaming fans and the media did a little trick and got rid of the background noise and then played it over and over again with the clear intent of ruining him. And why shouldn't Dean go after Kerry? Kerry, Gephardt, Lieberman - they all attacked Dean every chance they got.

Yes, I'm a Dean fan but I also have a sense of fairness and Dean has gotten the shaft. And I know this has been said before, but BECAUSE of Dean the rest of the crowd is more courageous speaking out against Bush. Before Dean there was none of it. I am extremely proud of Dean.

In digging up the "dirt" the Skull and Bones will not be mentioned by the Republicans, if you look at the list of members you can see that most of them are in the government including the Bushes, this isn't an organization people talk about too much money and too much power. So that will not be an dirt issue the Bushes will bring to the fore.

I am not a Dean fan, but I, too, believe the media did a serious disservice to him. If an objective person watched Dean's speech, it was obvious that while he spoke, there was a smile on his face. His behaviour of ranting and crazed was falsely labeled.

Everyone here, please remember that Dean is the only one that has raised 89% of his money from lots of ordinary people giving less than $100.

He doesn't have any special interest. The people are his priority. Unlike Edwards with his trial lawyer fundraising friends (look for the article where his clients where ilegally rasing funds for him)
And then Kerry, skipping the vote for really IMPORTANT bills like Medicare and others.

Looks like we have a horse race. Kerry has a long way to go in convincing me he isn't Bush lite. It would be nice if Kerry did address the Skull n' Bones association, Dr. Dean as well. Theresa, that's exactly what you do. You take the state charts (progressed and Solar Arc) the date of the election, the candidates charts (progressed and Solar Arc) and synthsize the information. There is a lot more one can do to pin it down (midpoints, past history, fixed stars etc) but it takes several days just to do it this way. By using this method, during the 2000 election I predicted accurately the winner in every state except FL. and in that state I predicted Gore.There were a few states that I had to use the candidates pre-natal and Draconic charts, because it wasn't totally clear.

Sorry folks, but I just have to reiterate that bush CANNOT be "re-elected" as the jerk was never elected in the first place. And if you as an individual want to make sure that your vote is counted, go NOW to your local county's website and apply to be a permanent absentee voter - then you don't need to worry about those Diebold machines that are rigged to let bush take it away again without the votes.

At a caucus planning meeting for our town tonight, I mentioned the fact that Reuplicans are writing in votes & was told ( by a fairly sophisticated nationally published writer ) that the write-in Republicans are pulling a scam trying to tilt the Dem. candidate to their advantage, then will vote for Bush in the Rep. primarys. this information was verified by the convener with the rule books in his hands!

The States of Iowa and the Union Agree: Bush Can Be Beaten

Is the tide turning? George W. Bush and his puppetmaster Karl Rove tried to upstage the Democrats with a State of the Union Address full of tricks and gimmicks, martian distractions and rattling sabers. It backfired. The stunning results from Iowa far overshadowed Bush's lame, malapropic stump speech. Space travel, gay marriage, steriods in baseball, these are the burning issues for a Republican Party smug enough to be certain they can steal any election. The week's signature GOP moment came from Tom DeLay's Texas, where a woman who sells vibrators was arrested for possessing more than two. In a state that's just been redistricted to prevent any Democrats from going to Congress, we see the GOP as the ultimate Luddites. Are Texas men that insecure? What will they ban next? Massage oil? Come November, we can expect Osama bin Laden to be miraculously "found" whenever Rove decides the timing is best. A terrorist attack will explode here or there precisely as the Democrats gather steam. Bush may dump Dick Cheney into a cardiac unit to grab headlines and expand his base. Remember, please, that Karl Rove, who runs the Bush apparatus, cut his teeth as a "Dirty Trickster" for Richard Nixon. Bush's father was elected in 1988 in the infamous "Willie Horton" campaign, the most racist in modern history. These amoral assassins will fling the lowest available dirt on whoever got in their way, and nobody has mastered the craft better than Rove. With unlimited money to spend, your worst ethical nightmare is their bottom line. But we're seeing a pattern here. Every time Bush jumps in the polls, he slumps back down. From the gigantic rush he got after his "trifecta" on September 11, the polls fell to where they were before the terrorist attacks. From his "Mission Accomplished" flashdance on the decks of the Abraham Lincoln, back down he crashed as the bloodshed continued. From the "miraculous" capture of Saddam Hussein (where is he now?) the polls again plunged as the grassroots Iraqi resistance goes on. From the "booming" economy we see the Bush bounce going flat as no jobs materialize and deficits soar while the dollar slumps. In short, George W. Bush is still George W. Bush: ruthless, corrupt, untrustworthy, closed-minded, authoritarian, inarticulate, intellectually challenged, programmed, cynical, dishonest, violent, a draft dodger and a religious fanatic who believes he speaks to and for God. Through the Christian Coalition the GOP has a solid activist base of fanatic puritan fundamentalists unparalleled in US history. They have unlimited money. And they have control of the mainstream media, whose endless gush of right-wing bloviaters has just one mantra: "Bush will win, Bush will win, Bush will win."
But they can be beaten. Here are some of the things that must happen:
1) THE VOTES MUST BE HONESTLY COUNTED: As push comes to shove, there is only one issue in this campaign: will the votes be honestly counted. As Stalin infamously put it: it doesn't matter who casts them, only who counts them. We know that the 2000 election was stolen, and that the GOP would be more than happy to do it again through rigged voting machines without paper trails, the computerized disenfranchisement of "convicted felons" and other suspected Democrats, and whatever else Rove & company can come up with.
2) THE VOTES MUST BE HONESTLY COUNTED: In 2000 Al Gore sat passively and watched as the White House was stolen. This time, all serious candidates must hammer at this issue, over and over. Rep. Rush Holt's bill now in Congress to require a paper trail for computerized voting machines is just a start, but it's a good one. The Democrats must get that passed or let the nation know why it didn't, and what that really means if the GOP claims victory in November.
3) THE VOTES MUST BE HONESTLY COUNTED: But it won't be enough just to raise the issue. In every state there must be campaign committees explicitly charged with fighting pre-election disenfranchisement, as happened in Florida and elsewhere. There must be extensive inspection of all voting machines, ballots and other election procedures. The polls must be monitored. Unless the Democrats take concrete, effective steps to guarantee a fair vote count, there's no reason to bother with this election at all.
4-10) THE VOTES MUST BE HONESTLY COUNTED: It may also not be sufficient for the Democrats alone to do this. Serious petitioning must now be done to the United Nations, the government of Switzerland or whoever else might serve as a honest broker, willing to serve an international watch dog function to help guarantee the coup that began in 2000 is not given four more years to solidify power.
11) THE HOUSE MUST BE RE-REDISTRICTED: Through redistricting the GOP has already guaranteed that the Democrats have virtually no chance of ever re-taking the House of Representatives. In one fell swoop, with typical vicious cynicism, Rove and DeLay have eliminated a dozen Texas Democrats even before the election is held. Nationwide, the system is now so twisted Democrats could carry the composite House vote by a wide margin and still end up vastly outnumbered on the floor. This was not the intent of the nation's Founders and must be changed, by Constitutional Amendment if necessary. Millions of us, especially in urban areas, have been effectively disenfranchised for years. The Democrats must publicize this curse on the Congress, and then do something about it.
12) PREPARE FOR RACISM & HOMOPHOBIA---The stench from George H.W. Bush's racist 1988 Willie Horton campaign still taints the presidency. In 2000 the GOP machine specifically targeted African-American and Jewish voters in Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas and elsewhere with Jim Crow tactics that threw those states---and the election---to Bush. This year we can expect similar racism and the smearing of gays and whoever else might be available to mobilize the extremist "religious" right. Somebody should replay those Willie Horton ads to remind the nation who these people really are.
13) ENOUGH ABOUT RALPH NADER, ALREADY: For four years Democrats have indulged in blaming Ralph Nader and the Greens for "losing" the 2000 election. But Al Gore won by 500,000 votes. Add Nader's 2.7 million and 2000 represented a powerful Dem-green mandate, which Bush aborted. THAT'S what the Dems should have been screaming about for the past four years.
14) BUSH-ROVE WERE GOING TO STEAL THE ELECTION NO MATTER WHAT: Nader's supporters were not the mindless property of the Democratic party that Ralph somehow hijacked. And a GOP capable of stealing 16,000 votes in a single Florida district was more than capable of stealing all they needed, Nader or no.
15) PICK UP THE PHONE: Nader remains the most effective citizen activist in recent US history. He still draws huge (paying) crowds. He has a phone. And an office with a door that opens. So do the activists who chose to support him, and may yet again if the Dems repeat their folly of 2000. A few phone calls, some meaningful conversation, a search for common ground, some POLITICS, and maybe the Dems can mobilize at least part of an activist hard core they absurdly blew off in 2000. There's absolutely no excuse for doing otherwise.
16) FORGET THE CONFEDERACY: Conversely, those folks driving around with Confederate flags are going to vote for Bush. The old Slave South (Bush's REAL taproot) is not going to come around. But as Norman Solomon and others have pointed out, the Hispanic southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado) is in reach and need to be worked on. If, by miracle, Florida or Texas can be got, it's with Hispanic, not racist white votes. How about New Mexico's Hispanic Gov. Bill Richardson for VP?
17) REMEMBER THE ENVIRONMENT: Not even the bought corporate media can hide that Bush has launched a total kamikaze assault on the natural planet. This is an issue the resonates even with much of the fundamentalist right. Mother Earth is still right up there with apple pie. Forget the Confederate flag. Wave the Green one!!!!!
18) REPEAL THE PATRIOT ACT: Bush's one legitimate applause line was that the Patriot Act is about to expire. Even right wingers like William Safire have been lining up against it. The Dems startled poor Georgie when they clapped for that line in his otherwise pathetic State of the Union. Much of the nation, left and right, feels the same. Use it!
19) REMEMBER WATERGATE AND VALERIE PLAME: Somebody very high up in the White House, probably Karl Rove and/or Dick Cheney, has committed a serious felony (and pissed off the CIA) by outing covert operative Valerie Plame. This cancer is eating away at the junta's core. If there is a single issue to push push push alongside the economy, that may be it. Think dagger to the Constitution. Think Dick Nixon, August 9, 1974, getting on that Plame...er, plane.
20) YOU GOTTA BELIEVE: The mainstream mantra that Bush can't be beaten is only true if we let them steal the vote count again. They've got the money. But they've got Bush. The "inevitability" of his victory is as deep as the headlights in his deer.
21) THE HARDER THEY COME: Our theme song. Buy the Jimmy Cliff album. Dance the dance. "...as sure as the sun will shine.......the harder they come, the harder they fall, one and all....."

Great post Carol. Do you think George is beginning to ask "why don't they like me?" Comedy Central with Jon Stewart has a clip on his site of his interview with John McCain, it is hilarious. McCain was blasting Bush and he said the Moon to Mars idea was first introduced by his father in 1988 and he thought they had reverted to using old speeches.

My mother is a Republican who's completely fed up with Bush, for real. She reads my copies of The Nation and rails against him. She's going to change her registration to Democratic in the primaries and try to help elect a Democrat. they're losing voters. I also hear it on CSpan.

BiblioTherapy: I urge all of you who are obsessing about the 'Skull & Bones' to get a copy of a wonderful book, "Foucault's Pendulum" by Umberto Eco. What Kerry did as an undergraduate is mitigated by his subsequent life experieince. He --changed-- in Viet Nam (unless, of course, we are to believe that his anti war activity was all a giant ruse to position him as a conservative in liberal clothing--deep cover a al The Manchurian Candidate). We all have philosophies, organizations, and affiliations which, I am sure, many of us reject quickly or over time (often times with regret or chagrin). Look at the man's record! He began politics as a liberal and he remained one when it was uncomfortable. One of the strongest endorsements of him as a person is the obvious respect and love of him by his step children. Losing a father and acquiring a new one is often traumatic, yet these children from the previous marriage love the guy.

If you want to follow a strong subtext of the coming campaign (I'm sure astrology would contribute mightily) it's the 'manliness' theme. From Iowa on, it is apparent that the Kerry campaign and Kerry himself are goading Bush on he 'manliness' issue. "Bring it on", war heros on stage, the threats to physically evict lobbyists from the White House...these are all code words for, you guessed it, GUYS. I'm a believer and practicer of gender equality. However, I will enjoy watching the psdueo Cowboys from the Bush team try to extol their leaders manliness in comparison to a guy with real credentials.

I had lunch today with a physician friend of mine. She told me that two days ago her office nurse had her boyfriend come by the office to meet her. He was a Special Forces Marine that had just returned from a tour in Afghanistan. Over lunch he began talking about his experiences in Afghanistan. He told how he had lost his faith in the military and the Bush administration. But the bombshell was that the Special Forces group he was assigned to had captured Osama Bin Laden early on in the Afganistan war. After they captured him they were directed to take him to an undisclosed location and turn him over to another group of military intelligence. He said "Honest to God I saw Bin Laden with my own two eyes". She said she was certain this young man was telling her the truth.

I wonder what would happen if he told Wesley Clark that information?

Bush sunnily predicted that "we can cut the deficit in half over the next five years," new numbers from the Congressional Budget Office are showing just how far off the mark that promise is. CBO has projected a new tide of red ink, beginning with a record $477 billion deficit in the current fiscal year. CBO has also raised its estimates of cumulative deficits over the next 10 years by a cool $1 trillion, compared to its last report in August of 2003 -- despite improved assumptions about economic growth. With the higher deficits, CBO also anticipates much higher annual interest payments on the national debt, reaching and remaining above $300 billion by 2009.

Finally, CBO assumes that Congress will hold down non-defense discretionary spending to historically low levels, a very bad bet, especially so long as the economy is relatively sluggish.

Former Progressive Policy Institute senior economist Jeff Lemieux, who now runs a useful policy analysis site called Centrists.org, has a "No-BS" baseline budget estimate that corrects all these omissions in the CBO report. He conservatively estimates that under Bush policies the national debt will climb more than $2 trillion beyond the CBO estimates, and no telling how much higher beyond that, as the baby boom retirement wave spikes Social Security and Medicare expenditures.

Whether you accept CBO's alarming but very optimistic numbers, or Centrist.org's terrifying but realistic take, one thing is very clear: We are not going to just "grow our way" out of the current and future deficit and debt crises. Both CBO and Lemieux assume continuing economic growth rates well above historic averages, and don't factor in (though Lemieux does note) the likely economic damage that these levels of continuing debt could cause. I just heard that Bush is going to propose a big increase in the funding for the National Endowment of the Arts. Rush Limbaugh (who I can't stand) is blasting him for it. The Repubs are throwing money at everything. What are they trying to do? Is GWB trying to sabotage his own reelection? I would imagine that most Democrats won't vote for him no matter what he throws money at and he's really ticking off the right wing of his own party. Why is he trying so hard to shove this nation further into debt? Does this show in his chart -- this irresponsibility with OUR money.

Democrats Spoiling for a Fight

No matter who gets the Democratic Presidential nomination in the end the main focus should still be "paper trail" "paper trail" "paper trail" .. without a paper trail from those voting machines I don't care who is running or what the astrological good/bad forecast may be for him to win/lose it will still be a no-win situation in the end. The Repubs are not going to give up easily and the voting machines will be the things they can easily use to deceive the public -and no way to go back and check anything without that paper trail. We have already applied within our county here for permadent absentee ballot status so we can write in our vote and make it count! Don't trust those machines ....!

Patricia - I can relate to the southern mind-set as we live in Alabama where Christian fundamentalism rules as does racism and the 19th Century mindset. All you have to do here is clutch a Bible to your breast during elections and you are a shoe-in to get the spot. I'm so sick of political ads here where the issues are never discussed, only one candidate after another trying to prove they are the better Christian in order to win the election. Some have even gone to far as to have themselves pictured with their families sitting around the dinner table holding hands while they all pray aloud - others drag their church Ministers on camera and have the dear Pastor tell the world how religious they are and what good church goers. Nobody asks what their stand is on anything or gets their viewpoint - it's always the Christian issue and then the southern churches here get behind their guy who they elevate next to the right hand of God. We are sick of it too - the "F" word gets used a lot around here during election times! Our neighbors who are all born-in-the-south "Christians" all support Bush who they feel is "so God-like" since he just about waves a banner to get the attention of the Christian right. What they can't see is that he wears his religion on his sleeve anytime he can just to get a vote - and if he were really so "Christian" in his heart he would see that he himself has broken one of the Ten Commandments he has vowed to uphold, "Thou Shalt Not Kill", by starting a war and killing thousands of innocent people in Iraq. I’ve waited four very long years and invested a lot of emotional energy hoping for a Democrat to emerge capable of showing GWB and his neo-con bullies the door in November. I thought Governor Dean could be that candidate and I had satisfying visions of Bush on his way out on Inauguration day. I can assure you I’m not the biggest John Kerry fan but he's trounced Governor Dean in Iowa and New Hampshire. And the only way he was able to do that was to convince folks to vote for him and those folks for the most part were the most serious Democratic voters in those states. My personal hope got his rear end whooped in Iowa and New Hampshire. The voters in Iowa and New Hampshire knew who Governor Dean was and exactly what he stood for and he didn't win. Now with the front-runner status shifting to John Kerry suddenly. . . we’ve got Kerry smears, Kerry innuendo, Kerry loathing and Kerry disgust. . .we’ve even got premature declarations of "sitting this one out or voting for a third part candidate . . .we’ve got conspiracy theories of why someone, somewhere in some corridor of power collaborated in the "put down" of Howard Dean. But just remember. . . .As long as we have Neo-con squatters in our White House what we should be talking about is how “we” are going to make sure that this election and the Democratic Party is shaped by "our" voices and "our" concerns. If the good doctor ends up not being the Democratic candidate, it is no reason to abandon a struggle especially if it was worthwhile in the first place. No matter who the candidate turns out to be I think it is time to get on with the business of building a better Democratic Party and fighting hard to take our country back in 2004.

It was my girl friend and colleague that relayed the Capture/Osama story to me. The young Marine with the story is her office nurses fiancé. He had recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He told my friend his account of the capture over lunch, as they discussed politics and his experiences as a Marine in Afghanistan. My friend said his sincerity and detail in relaying the incident made her confident he was telling the absolute truth. It definitely would be fool hardy for this young Marine to tell a story of such magnitude, if it were not true. I can’t see any plausible positive payoff for him telling such a story? In fact I can only think the opposite. With all the morally disturbing, illegal, secretive and clandestine actions taken by the Bush administration I am not so sure this young Marine realizes by telling this story he might not return from another assignment. For my part I believe his story. The Bush/Rove/Pearle/Cheney/Rummy evil consortium is without equal in their callous and self serving manipulation of the American public and their craven needs for power. I can ask my friend if she would speak to her nurse concerning the possibility of passing this story on to a trustworthy individual; one that could protect the identity of this young man. But my question is; Does such a person exist?

He needs guidance and protection.

I understand the implications of such a story, but if he can get the ear of someone like Waxman, who, in my opinion, has been one of the most consistently outspoken and persistent investigators of the Bush admin's crimes, then something just might come of it. He might even be safer telling his story to Waxman, because if he is telling his story indiscriminately, he could put himself in worse danger than if he tells someone like Waxman. Could you suggest to your physician friend that she encourage her nurse to suggest this to him? The only reason I asked what state Carolyn is in is that if she is in California, it would be easier to gain Waxman's attention, as he is the representative for the LA/Santa Monica area - District 31, I think, but not sure if that number is right.

If this Marine has eyewitness information that could possibly be backed up by others who were present, that's huge. It's an uphill battle, I know, but so is getting rid of Bush. Are we going to just shrug and say, "Aw, what the hell, he's gonna win anyway?" !!??

I was watching c-span this morning and there was a caller who referenced some military guy acusing bush of keeping bin laden under wraps and will produce him for political gain near the time of the election. He was sort of discounted out of hand because he seemed like a sort of conspirisy theory nut raving, and had no proof other than hearsay, but, I was surprised that he did mention some military person's name. (which I cannot remember) This certainly bears following up on.

I’ve only recently ‘discovered’ this astrology website... and am delighted with the articles presented. I find many of the comments interesting. However, I am disappointed to find some of the posts not only generalizing about particular sun signs — but reducing these 30 sec bytes to negative assessments of the totality of individuals... something I would expect from those vast numbers of folks who read the daily horoscope in their local newspaper — but not from anyone who has studied or even read anything about astrology. All signs have negative and positive attributes — we make the choice as to which we will use. My ‘sun’ is in the sign of Gemini, but I have a stellium in Cancer and several planets in Taurus — I consider myself a multi-faceted entity... but then, aren’t we all? I have found stereotyping to be a poor method of assessment in any field, and an utter failure in astrological profiles.
Let’s give our over-used left brains a break and recognize that we are all energy... fluid and flowing... ever changing... hopefully for the better.
