Seeds of Change
While the waning moon gave way to utter darkness George W. Bush spoke to all of America as to the State of our Nation. I listened to his well read speech, seeing the sheer pleasure his words brought to his associates countenances. Their heads nodding in agreement drooling over their good fortune, hands applauding with wild abandon knowing they’ll reap the same rewards for good or ill that their faux leader brings upon them. He cast down the bloodied gauntlet, smiling, taunting the Democrats, The People, egging us on. I got the image of this great ape beating his breast, boasting of his fabricated successes and I thought how pathetic, he blew off The People. He taunts us to stop his agenda as he reduces thousands of American’s lives to poverty. Bush portrayed in living color everything that has gone wrong with America. With the morning dawn the East Coast pundits were already spinning his dismal performance. What was so blatant was Republican greed and disregard for life, human or otherwise. What Bush drove home was the separation of classes, by race, religion, sexual orientation and the almighty dollar. Every child who doesn’t measure up forever has his/her test scores attached to their educational records to follow them through out their academic careers (loser, loser, loser). These will be the first to spill their blood on foreign shores
The New Moon rose in the evening sky 1 degree Aquarius 10, falling in the US 2nd House. The People have been challenged, dared, double dared to even try and resist the agenda the Republican’s have put forth for how we should live, worship and procreate. In the coldness of this dark winters night American’s caught a glimpse of the madmen running the country.
Dr. Dean the night before carried away and letting loose a war hoop that rivaled any good ole boy I’ve heard, and echoed the cry as only a warrior can shocked my senses! Oh my, he has passion, he sounds just like one of my boys during an especially tense football moment. Oh that’s a bad thing excitement? Right Aaron Brown, Judy Woodruff and those other really dull lusterless pols who have lost their journalistic integrity, called him an angry man. We need more war hoops, we are fighting for our nation and the world is watching how we handle this mess!
Transiting Uranus has re-entered Pisces, during its last swing into Pisces hundreds of thousands of people world wide spoke out against Bush, Blair and the bloodbath that ensued. Uranus is making an exact inconjunct with the US Mid-heaven on this New Moon. We should be watching for Murphy and his monkey wrenches flying about. When the world raged against America and its corrupt leaders, all their voices went unheeded and a time of dark suppression has since settled upon the peoples of our land, the Patriot Act I. Uranus returns to the sign of Peace, Pisces and the Patriot Act is up for review. Bush has hornswoggled the Justices, we find Cheney and Scalia playing golf, yup really, expensive boyz club run by oily magnates.
Transiting Pluto at 21 Sagittarius 12 will for the first time in our Nations history be in opposition to the U.S Mars 21 Gemini 23, the energies emanating from this opposition are already being felt. Transiting Mars is 22 Aries and falling in the US 4th House of the Common People, the seeds of unrest are stewing. People are dieing from the cold in the Eastern U.S, people are starving in Ohio and how many thousands of us must learn a new way to support ourselves? The jobs are gone not to come back, get over it.
Okay, American’s are you going to take it? Lay down for it? Give up your homes, your cars, your children’s education, your precious medical insurance? Mars in Aries, I’d call that militant energy being planted under the new moon. Get off your butt and get involved, get loud, let your voice be heard. All of our European ancestors ‘supposedly’ came here for freedom from men such as these. Marie Antoinette once said or so I was taught, ‘Let them eat cake’, since I was raised in America with Texas school books we may find that the French may have a more accurate accounting, so where is the Yellow Cake Mr. Bush?
We also find the Moon in close enough proximity to Neptune in Aquarius that Neptune’s effects will continue to be felt, you know, confusion, delusion, denial…ah yes our oily friends and the denuded coffers that’s the US 2nd House of Resources. Bush lines the pockets of the large corporations and the evangelicals applaud him. He has betrayed the People of this Country, he makes a mockery of his faith, and he dares the Democrats to unseat him. American’s are going to get a liberal education in the coming months, the die is cast the gauntlet thrown. The seeds of rebellion are planted beneath the mantle of snow.
"Those who make peaceful revolutions impossible will make violent revolutions inevitable."

Wonderful Morgana!! You speak my thoughts, and how good that feels!
I have never been so happy to have found such a site on the internet. The astrologers here are exceptional. I am grateful.
Ditto, Pat. This is the first site I visit every morning. Whew! It is so comforting to be in contact with people who know what is going on and who can see the big cosmic picture. Speaking of monkey wrenches, today is Chinese New Year. Year of the green (wood) monkey. Last year was the year of the goat/sheep, actually black (water) sheep. Know practically nothing of Asian Astrology, but the symbolism is interesting, isn't it? Dubya certainly is a black sheep, and there were plenty of sacrifical sheep killed and wounded last year. And the public was made the goat. The monkey is full of tricks and mischief (maybe the programmed voting machines, among other things?) and maybe the public becoming more unpredictable and less compliant.
Barbara what fantastic symbolism and interpretation of the goat and monkey. I think you are on to something here.
Morgana, great article. I always look forward to the astrologers who contribute their articles, and your new, full and eclipse articles are fantastic and give me so much to think about.

State of the Union at Home
W hen the president delivers his State of the Union address, we like to listen respectfully and respond politely. It is always easy to find things worth applauding. Last night, for instance, President Bush mentioned job retraining, immigration law reform and programs to help newly released prisoners re-enter society. The impulse is always to split the difference — to decry the ideas we disagree with and then note the ones we like. This time, such evenhandedness seems impossible. The president's domestic policy comes down to one disastrous fact: his insistence on huge tax cuts for the wealthy has robbed the country of the money it needs to address its problems and has threatened its long-term economic security. Everything else is beside the point.
Just throwing this into the mix. Kerry is a sheep, Dean is a rat, Bush is a dog, cheney and edwards are snakes.
This is generalizing as there are other factors to be considered, but year of the monkey should be, very hectic for dogs, good for promotions etc for sheep but watch for health problems, fruitful for rats but dont break partnerships, and snakes will get help when they need it. hmmm
Thanks, Jeanie. I am an early Aquarius and for years thought I was a rat--which my daughter thought was hysterically funny, (She is a dragon--much more dignified.) Then I found out that I am really a pig, More laughter from the younger generation. Sometimes you just can't get any respect.
That's ok, I'm a pig too. Bring on the velvet couch, and something delicious.
well, I am a horse, hard to pin me down. Had a great year last year with the goats, not so sure about the monkey's. I'll find out, I have one "monkey" daughter and she's not too happy with me right now. In fact I have a monkey, a dog, a dragon and a sheep, only the monkey is irritated with me, oh dear
I have a dragon and a rat. The dragon has the best behavior though.

In the final Democratic debate before the Iowa caucuses, the presidential candidates neglected to emphasize the most critical issue of the 2004 presidential election: the defense and full reinstatement of the Bill of Rights. Most Americans are unaware that we do not have the same Bill of Rights that we had four years ago. Its words haven't changed, but George W. Bush has drastically altered the laws that implement it. The result is the same: Our liberty is in serious danger.
In October 2001, shortly after 9/11, the USA PATRIOT Act passed the House by a vote of 356 to 66; in the Senate, the vote was 98 to 1 -- only Russ Feingold, D-Wis., dissented. The bill was composed by John Ashcroft's Justice Department in secret. Proper congressional hearings weren't held; virtually no questions were asked. The bill was pushed through a servile Congress so fast that many who voted for it have since admitted they didn't have time to read it.

Hentoff quotes Justice William O. Douglas, words we can't afford to forget: "As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air -- however slight -- lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness."
Well, I'm a monkey. Peace, love, tranquility. That's me!! But don't call me a chimp!!
Pat - great quote by Justice William O. Douglas! We certainly can't afford to forget this and I wish it could grace the front pages of all the major newspapers where people could see this in print for themselves. Maybe it would turn a few lighbulbs on for people and enlighten the masses who all seem to have fallen asleep in this twilight and are oblivious to the dark clouds gathering above them. Thanks for sharing that!
Here's another monkey checking in. Can't wait to get up to some mischief, he, he! Seriously though, the Year of the Monkey often brings social unrest. In 1968, there were riots in the US and in Paris, France (why are these two always up to monkey shines at the same time?). I think this will be a very lively year with a lot of surprises. I believe that the mischief and scandal of the government will get so bad, that the people just can't ignore it anymore and will rise in protest.
The Year of the Monkey does not bode well for the Chimp!
pat, the 'good stuff' bush said isn't 'true'..the man lied from beginning to end..to say that iraq and afghan are great examples of democracy, is just about as true as saying he's implementing job growth & help for prisoners, etc..the man is the Great Liar..
another example: he said to lieberman, "you're the one i'm really worried about"
see the man is incapable of telling the truth..he is the great satan.

Like Sally I am a horse (1942). Tonight I was rallying for Kucinich at the last Dem Debate (at St. Anselms college) before NH primary on Tuesday. I froze my feet for over two hours. Don't know if I accomplished anything. But, I guess sticking up for your candidate is what it is all about. BTW Dean supporters had the majority. I consider Kucinich head and shoulders above the rest. But I'd take any of them over Bush!!!
oops..
incidentally, someone should send that kenedy quote to dick.
do you think we'll find out years from now that the cabal are all closet homosexuals? gangsters usually are, and a lot of the nazis were according to the great book written in 1962..especially when they have the contempt for the gays who are 'out'...any thing in charts of the most vile to indicate this? aquarius/uranus stuff??
Hello, Lynn. Yes, I read the Canadian story and the thought crossed my mind that Dubya was drunk/druged out from puberty through his 40s, so manybe he didn't have a time when he could examine his feelings and know his own sexual inclination. --
But I don't think the Bush cabal are closet gays--I think their values are so twisted that their every human expression, including the sexual, is twisted, too. Neither straight nor gay--just twisted.
PS Also meant to say that Dubya's remarks to the Canadian aide were so offensive from one man to another in a public setting, that Dubya obviously was on an arrogant power trip--ready to try to humiliate / embarrass someone because he could get away with him. What a slime Dubya is.

Report: bin Laden held
BERLIN, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has been captured, Germany's Die Welt newspaper reported Thursday.
The newspaper, on its Web site, cited "unconfirmed reports" as the basis for its report.
Bin Laden is the Saudi dissident blamed for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people. He was believed to be hiding along the Afghan-Pakistan border.

The Possible Capture of Osama Bin Laden
Causes Treasury Prices To Dip
According to Reuters, "Treasury prices dipped briefly on Thursday as whispers that Osama bin Laden had been caught sparked some selling, but the talk was quickly discounted.
Traders had been highly skeptical all along, noting that according to rumors, bin Laden had been caught a dozen times in recent weeks, but still marked down prices just in case.
In another related story, Reuters also reported, " There is no truth to a rumor in the foreign exchange markets that al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been captured, a U.S. official said on Thursday.
"It's not true," the official said when asked about the rumor.
U.S. forces have been hunting for bin Laden since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on America that were blamed on al Qaeda.
http://tinyurl.com/2l45o Rumors have been flying for quite some time that Osama may be in custody. As early as July, posts were appearing on the Arabic forums.

Buzzflash is also carrying this story.
I have no idea if any of this is true, disinformation, or just plain gossip, but it isn't just popping up on the whacky sites now. it's being mentioned by more and more websites and it brings up an interesting point...if he proclaimed that he would martyr himself before the end of the year (remember the Muslim year doesnt end until Feb. 2 or 3) and "die in the belly of the eagle". Sigh.... It is also being carried as unconfirmed on Buzzflash.
I wish I could say that I am assured.
Nope, Lynn, I hadn't heard about the Reagan White House call boy scandal but will look it up. When Reagan was in I was a single mom with a job that required regional travel and I didn't keep up with anything. (Erma Bombeck had a quiz and one of the questions was, "Do you put your groceries in the pantry after shopping, or do you just use them out of the car. I just used them out of the car.) Re- Osama, if the US troops or close allies have him they may try to hold him until October.
I loved Erma Bombeck! My pantry was fairly useless back then too. Reagan also proudly governed the highest homeless rate in US history, but George HW Bush topped him after that.
I'm sure we can not expect anything on Osama until October. I would expect that is the schedule.
Here is the latest Molly on the SOU speech. It is perfect.
Ain't democracy grand?

I'm year of the Rooster, and I'll consider 2004 a fine year if Smirky gets kicked out of the White House. Otherwise, serious screeching coming from me! (At least I'll still have interesting websites like this one that I'll really, really need!)
Dammit, I forgot to write this above. MSNBC, of all things, had an interesting report last night on the Keith Olberman show. They showed video of Bush visiting Roswell, NM (insert jokes here), at a diner. He was very uncomfortably trying to kid with customers and reporters about food, etc., in his sort of weird, bullying, "I'm better than you so I'll give you a nickname" way. The reporters were *trying* to ask him questions about the economy, and he had this BS about how buying ribs helps the economy. He was so clearly out of his element. You see, he really *can't* give serious answers without a script (or earpiece?), and that's why he turns on that creepy charm that some people like. But this time, the media were actually aware of how pathetic he looked. There was criticism, along the lines of, "he needed help, he was lost". Sadly, this clear display of total stupidity was not, and won't be, an issue in the same way poor Howard Dean's enthusiastic rally was. But it's a start. And many media reports are surprisingly respectful of John Kerry. We;ll see what happens later. But I think things are slowly turning.
Our local news reported that Bush did NOT leave a tip. So much for helping the economy of the little man.
(Something happened with my post of a few mins ago, so I hope this is not a repeat.)
Please consider e-mailing Dean to encourage him to continue to be the Democratic thunder necessary to pull us back from the threshold of fascism. Encourage him to continue to expose the lies and deceits and fairy-tales (whether Repugs or Dems) and to offer the American people a way to return to our freedom-loving, caring ways. If we can't defeat Bush, we are in grave danger of crossing that fascist threshold. If we can't defeat McAwfully and the establishment Dems, we're left with a tepid situation, which will continue to encourage corporatist/fascist inroads. Again, would one of the wonderful astrologers who contribute to this site be so kind as to see if the time is propitious for re-kindling the Democratic Party?
I also hope people keep showing their support for Dean. I actually think of Dean sort of as the guy who stokes the engine on the train. He might not be as glamorous as the ticket collector, but that ticket collector won't get very far without him. Maybe, even if he's not destined to be president, he can at least help get the democratic party focused and breathe life into it. He has such an ability to get people's attention. And if we he can in some way diminish the power of the autocrats running this country, thats a good thing.
Dear Shylurker, I am watching to see if Dean can hold is own with his 'handlers' or if he's going to suckup and go all soft and spineless. The American People need to hear loud and clear just how deep the gimche is, the hell with polite. There is a time for polite and a time to kick
Oh, I'm a dragon
Thank you so much for your comments, Morgana. I was born in a snake year (1941) and I think it is time to strike--deep, viscerally, and (counter to what snakes are supposed to do) to EX-tract the venom of nazism.
I'm a "rat" myself...same as Dr. Dean, whom I support. I'd like to know what the implications are regarding Dean's 5th house Chiron/Sun conjunction (in Scorpio, no less!) Any insight?
Whatever happens to Dean, his impact on our nation cannot be discounted. He has empowered and inspired so many people--not to mention other Democratic candidates who've picked up some of his best lines.
Mia, I think Dr. Dean has the potential to heal a Nation, to bind its wounds and remove the poisons from it's system. That to me would exemplify a Sun/Chiron conjunction. Is not Scorpio's highest manifestation that of the Phoenix whose tears can heal the wounds inflicted by the slimey basilist, snake oil dealers, Texas rattlers.
Then again, I wouldn't discount our Gemini Lawyer, John Edwards seems to be more than a pretty face and slick lawyer. He sounds like he gets it.
Sally I have an ox with a Saturn return. I try his patience.
You may find this interesting!
Presidential elections in America are long, with formal campaigns lasting about a year and positioning leading to the campaigns lasting nearly three years. A President's four-year term of office leaves just enough time to dish out contracts and jobs.
There is nothing out of the ordinary in America about the length of presidential campaigns. Elections for other offices consume time pretty much in proportion to their power and importance. Senators, for example, spend about two-thirds of their six-year term just raising money for the next election.
American elections consume not just time but money, a great deal of money. Bush is expected to have a quarter-billion dollars in donations ready to fight for re-election. The nation's air waves will be jammed for months with mind-numbing images easily confused with personal hygiene or toothpaste commercials.
In America's early years, only a few men of considerable substance could vote. Any concept of wider democracy disturbed America's founding fathers as risking their wealth to the votes and whims of men without any. With the gradual, unavoidable extension of the American franchise over two hundred years of wars and social movements, a political system gradually emerged preserving the founders' concerns. Americans, in theory, can vote for anyone, but the candidates they see and hear and whose names appear on all the ballots in so vast a land will only be people effectively pre-selected by those of great substance. It is an inherently conservative system.
I don't want to put too much weight on the result of the Iowa caucus; it is hardly a future-shaping event, but the winner, John Kerry, brings pretty modest potential for change in America.
Kerry is an uninspiring figure, a man who has never stood out on matters of life and death or great injustice. He declared his candidacy in front of an aircraft carrier. Yes, he can shout his lines with the best of them when seeking the power and privilege of high office, but Kerry's voice is not one known for defending great principles. He opposed the war in Vietnam toward the latter part of that holocaust against Asians but, by that time, being anti-war had become almost stylish and Kerry's opposition came only after a ferociously ambitious effort at a successful career in the war, a career that included shooting a man running away as well as a man under his command killing a child.
The War on Terror, while remaining an undefined slogan, is supported by Americans. Despite the odds of death by terror being not much greater than death by lightning, an attack by nineteen men, all of whom died in the effort, has caused America to kill thousands of innocent civilians abroad, destroy the economy of Iraq, keep thousands of shackled prisoners in offshore kennels, deport people against whom it has no evidence so they can be tortured in other lands, and to pass fearful new laws.
Sentimental liberals continue to write about a glorious national past blotted out by Bush, ignoring America's tradition of near-rabid responses to real or imagined danger. This tradition began before the Revolution with periodic waves of fear and violence in the South over imagined slave revolts, and it continued with crazed slaughters of aboriginal people, the police-state Alien and Sedition Acts under President Adams, Jefferson's police-state enforcement of a boycott on British trade, beatings and killings of blacks in the North thought responsible for conscription during the Civil War, Lincoln's police-state suspension of basic rights in what was a totally avoidable war, periodic mass slaughters of blacks during the twentieth century, the internment of Japanese- Americans in concentration camps during World War II, the wanton incineration of Japanese cities, the McCarthy-era lunacy, a holocaust in Vietnam second in size only to the Nazi's grim work, and countless, ugly, little colonial wars and overthrows of elected governments.
It is notable that much of this kind of liberal writing ignores the international dimension of what Bush has done, the truly new and highly dangerous part of his handiwork. The authors focus on nasty domestic laws and bringing the troops home. Most liberals, like most conservatives in America, have a remarkable indifference about what happens to the world, so long as it doesn't affect their enjoyment of life. It is a disturbing orientation for people who, secretly or overtly, regard themselves as divinely-anointed, planetary overseers. So many times during the Vietnam War, I was astounded that people went right on happily sucking beer and dancing while American pilots napalmed villages in Asia. It was only when American coffins started arriving by the hundreds that much popular music turned harsh and full of protest and many proms lost their cozy glow.
There will be no return to what, before Bush, passed as normal in America until the nation has shaken its latest violent seizure. Even then, actions have been taken that will continue to sour the future. Does anyone believe that all the new, oppressive legislation in the United States will be rescinded? That the bloated, dangerous increases in military spending will be undone? That America's damage to international institutions will be corrected? That America's contempt for its more thoughtful allies will disappear? That the immense welling-up of prejudice against Arabic people will simply disappear?
The truth is that even if a moderately liberal person were elected President, he or she would face exactly what the Clintons faced for eight years, a hideous and relentless assault with opportunity for few meaningful accomplishments. The American Congress is so conservative, and has demonstrated itself so lacking in courage or imagination or largeness of view, that only the most modest changes can be expected under any president.
Failing new developments, the one big issue promises to be whether the costly, pointless invasion of Iraq was a legitimate part of the War on Terror. I believe the answer will hinge on how many Americans continue to die rather than any rational discussion. The most troubling aspect of this is the way many Bush opponents seem only to care about getting American troops out of there. Where's the sense of responsibility for the mess America created? Iraq will take many years to return to any kind of meaningful society.
Well, by all means, it would be nice to see Bush back with the rattlesnakes in Texas and once again to have a President capable of addressing civilly the rest of the world -- nice things but not a lot to get excited about. No likely Democratic candidate is going to produce a greatly more rational and decent United States. One or two Democrats, Lieberman or Clark, almost certainly would be as narrow and harsh as Bush, offering nothing beyond a day's satisfaction in seeing Bush sent packing.

I’ve been thinking about Rove and Bush along these lines for sometime and just ran across this article; I thought I would just toss it out for thought.
In an article written by Nicholas Lemann's on Karl Rove in The New Yorker. Lemann writes of Rove's first meeting with Dubya, which Rove recalls with crystal clear clarity thirty years later: "I can literally remember what he was wearing: an Air National Guard flight jacket, cowboy boots, blue-jeans, complete with the--in Texas you see it a lot--one of the back pockets will have a circle worn in the pocket from where you carry your tin of snuff, your tin of tobacco. He was exuding more charisma than any one individual should be allowed to have." Later on in his article Lemann comments that Rove has "an attitude toward his boss which appears to be truly worshipful."
So, Rove remembers Dubya’s clothes in minute detail and apparently was closely checking out Dubya’s a**, while today "worshipping" him from close quarters and on a daily basis. For his part, Dubya not only loves the word "fabulous" was a cheerleader and tends to stand in a certain way, but also works out a lot, and is really into his body. Don’t get me wrong there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but my point is rather that Dubya’s desire to launch an unprovoked and unilateral war on Iraq, among other overtly macho acts and his often he-man over the top behavior ("Bring 'em on!” etc) and Rove's obsession with not beating but eliminating the Democrats are perhaps the sadistic results of their repressing their homosexual desires, desires which in their conservative ideology are evil.
I still find it very intriguing that the U.S. Sun progresses into Pisces on election day 2004. This is quite a change! Will we become a truly compassionate/sympathetic nation or will many of us just become more disillusioned?
My hope was for Dean but the media is ruining him, truly. CNN is pushing for Kerry, there is no doubt. Kerry is my least favorite out of all of them. I've had to quit watching cable news I get so angry. If Kerry gets the nod, I will vote for him, but he brings no passion for change to the table. I truly feel we must have passion in this race or we will lose.
Headline on binladen gives insight on "rumors" --
"A spoof newsflash by a TV station in Lebanon saying that Osama Bin Laden had been captured in the northern city of Tripoli was taken more seriously than the programme-makers had expected. "

Food for thought:
Political campaigns for the presidency are always 'evolving' -- the link below will give info on the 2000 campaign and that year's Iowa caucus along with NH primary results for GOP (which was 'out' of the WH then) if you follow the early primaries you will recall that John McCain was in the lead --- 'course we all know what happened to him.

Thanks Trudy, I'll be sure to remind all of my American friends to indulge in self hatred and completely give up any self respect or hope for the future. Is that your aim?
With some extended research, I know you will find that all cultures have been victims of suffering and been perpetrators of barbaric behavior. I wonder if this is no accident. Could it be part of the universal experience?
I too feel tremendous pain when even one living creature suffers. I feel your pain on a deep level, but excusing single minded hatred will not heal the world, nor elevate life. I can only suggest that balance of emotions is the only road to clear seeing.
This is your life. May you walk the good road, and may you walk in beauty.
Gotta tell ya, it feels like the "Twilight Zone". Hearing Cheney address the European Summit sounded identical to George down to the cadence of inflections in deliverying, ie., reading his speech, more lies. These guys walk in perfect step with one another, same message, same hammer, same yammer. Makes you want to scream.
I've almost quit watching the main "news" channels and have instead been watching cspan for the undiluted truth. Thats the way to start to minimize campaign financing - mandate each candidate as equal air time with no talking heads present and each candidate interacting freely, non-scripted, with the public. How can democracy survive with only madison avenue styled advertising. I must say I think Kerry has become Deanized - he's showing more passion and down to earth demeanor than I've seen before. I've even noticed him speaking with some of the same phrasing as Howard on a couple of things. Anyone in the running who can bring a little of each of the candidates to the table after the nomination has a great chance of evicting the resident.
It is now almost 100% certain Kerry is going to be
the Democratic candidate. His choice for running mate must be Edwards(for votes from the south)and
sense this combination can trounce the shrubs. As
mentioned before we never had a back to back 2 term presidents since Jefferson followed by Madison(about 200 years ago).So this shrub is incapable of breaking that jinx.May be that's why
Dean shot himself in the foot and is now fading fast, and made way for Kerry(better debator against shrub) and also the arrogrant, corrupt liar
rowe and company also been got off guard as they
were scheming to attack Dean as candidate. They
don't have any strong plans to derail Kerry/Edward
from ousting the idiotic shrub/cheney in Novemeber
You're probably correct in your assessment of how this thing will play out, Raj. Let's not forget, though, that both Kerry and Edwards voted for the invasion of Iraq and for the Patriot Act. Dean gets the consolation prize for. . . what? Providing scripts for Kerry to use? People like Dean's scripts, apparently, but prefer they be delivered by one of the Dem good ol' boys, and not by the author
of them who does lead with his heart. The others lead with their egos, and corporate $s. Thanks for your patience with my rant.
I worry about Kerry because he , like the evil one sitting in our White House is/was a member of the Scull and Bones society. Is that the reason Kerry voted for the war??? I just don't have a good feeling about about Kerry. Dean is still my man!
I was at the Vietnam Veterans Rally Against the War in 1971 and I saw John Kerry give an amazing speech there condemning the war. I will never forget it--his face lined with sadness, his voice full of outrage and pain. Let me tell you: Not everyone in the US was against the war at this point. I know, I nearly got my head smashed in by police in Washington, D.C. that week and in the weeks and months to follow on my college campus. I was constantly battling with my parents and aunts and uncles about the morality of the war. I had many conversations with young vets that day that I will never forget. That day helped me understand how the war had forever changed my generation. We were making a committment to undoing the violence of that experience--both the horrific damage we as a country had inflicted on Vietnam and the violence we had done to ourselves in the process. On that day I knew it was a lifelong journey. I think John Kerry did too.
During Reagan's war in Central America, John Kerry was always there against contra aid and US support of the military in El Salvador. He was courageous and outspoken during the Reagan years and those of us on the front lines against Reagan's war knew we could count on him for support.
Today, Vietnamese scholars and writers come to the US because of John Kerry's efforts. He has been in the forefront of reestablishing ties and aid to Vietnam.
When I told John Kerry a few weeks ago in Iowa City that I had seen him as an 18 year old college student at the Vietnam Veterans Against the War Rally, he grabbed my hand, looked me squarely in the eye for a few seconds (no small feat since he was surrounded by people eager to talk to him or have their pictures taken with him) and said, "God Bless You." I felt a spiritual connection to John Kerry that night. I know that might sound hokey to some--hopefully not to those who come to this site--and it is out of that sense of connection--spiritual, historical, generational--that I write in his defense--my first ever posting on this site. I am profoundly disturbed by some of the comments being made here. They seem to me raw and destructive. They will not help us overthrow the very bad people that have taken over this country. John Kerry is not the enemy. He is an ally.
I
wow..so many thoughts..
carolyn, i pointed that out days ago, about the gangster/closet homo stuff...then someone put up a link to the canadian globe and mail in regards to bush making a pass at a canadian aide? of course i couldn't get the story to load!
it's been jammed and taken off..just try it everyone!
yeah, isn't kerry AND edwards skull and bones?
the ? was not who can beat bush, but who can beat diebold, and i determined that could only be a scorpio, so of course dean's being taken out.
i came on this site just about a year ago, giving insight that america was on the slide, fulfilling biblical prophesy in revelation .. the whore of babylon, and all that. it's all come to pass. taking over ancient babylon for monetary reasons...
sally, you say we've had worse presidents, and i take great comfort in that. but is it really so? have we ever had a president who attacked a country for no reason, except to line the pockets of his coffers? and that's just question one. isn't it time we realize that maybe this really is the end of america? i don't want it to be so. although i believe in the bible, i'd be quite content to wait another few decades, or hundreds, or thousands of years for things to 'get really bad, then jesus comes back..'
and back a year ago i wondered if all the 'bad' planets afflicting our thugs running the country wouldn't affect them, but just BE them, manifest, projecting outward onto the world? Sally has said that she's convinced cheney is really dead (due to astro transits etc)..but could it be that he just smells, so to speak, of the putridity of death that he's become a vehicle for?
well in the bible it says to "come out of her, lest you receive her curses"
there is no doubt in my mind that if bush/diebold steal the election OR if the whole thing has turned into a sham anyway, putting in kerry/edwards, there's no doubt that america will have all kinds of devastating afflictions from attacks to natural disasters..it's really painful to watch..
anyhow, i've got a ticket to london on march 6th .. residence hunting..perhaps.
maryann, i'm sure everyone on this site, even people sceptical about kerry, only wish and hope your instincts, are absolutely true!
In reply to shylurker and Sarah, Dean blew his chance and he escapes the vote for or against the war because he was not in the senate or congress.
So he never had to go through the Test since he never had to take the Test. After we know about the lies, it is easy to say I'm against the war!
Also, Kerry has a very legitimate defence that he
voted that way on the lies which were presented as
facts and mis led by the arrogant corrupt shrub and his cronies and that rotten wing. So Kerry
can't be blamed 100%.About Scull and Bones society
don't believe Kerry is still a memeber. Is not that
society has to do with the Yale University and membership has to do during student days etc?
Good intuition Sarah......
Think harder Jeanie! I sent a bunch of e-mails out on Jan. 18 to Cnn anchors/WHOTV in Iowa,( Did I really think it would help?) because I was furious that Kerry had stolen Deans script. It worked...he won......THAT ROUND! BUT!!!!!!! Kerry's a Sag. sun , mars; not much on the follow thru., check David Brooks Op-Ed in today's NY Times. He hasn't in his past record. I've been watching him talk to people in NH & he orates rather than answer their questions with substance!
Edwards AND his wife Elizabeth on the other hand are both AAA communicators, saying EXACTLY what they mean! He the "pretty boy Breck Girl" as they have dubbed him, might just be so non-threatening to the Bushites that he can sneak in the back door ( to the White House) and lock it before they know it!
Dean as Scorpio will see plans through to the bitter end! He does have a Sag mars too, & I think you were right about the wrong birth time for Dean. I think he has a Taurus Moon which would put it earlier than 7:21 AM. Dr. Judy Dean is a Taurus
& he is pretty (at one) connected with her! True soul mates........Did you see snide Diane Sawyer act incredulous at being happy with recieving a rhododendron bush for your 50th birthday ( As Judy Dean did)
when she interviewed the couple on Primetime?
Having a Moon in 24o Scorpio, opposite my Taurus sun, exact conjunction with Dean's sun..I picked him for the winner at the first debate in May, I just didn't figure on the fury & the power of the right wing media!
Much worse...my progressed Sun is 14o Cancer, right there with Bush,Sun, USA, Sun, Repug Party Sun!
I'm in this whether I want to be or not!!!!
Can somebody produce charts for Kerry & Edwards?
Queen of Pentacles
For those people who somehow want to continue "punishing" (by withholding their vote?) Kerry and Edwards for voting for the War or the Patriot Act, it's very important to remember that what they voted for was an international coalition to invade Iraq ONLY AFTER ALL diplomatic avenues had been EXHAUSTED and ONLY with the full support of our Allies. To hold Kerry and Edwards responsible for Bush lying to them (and in the atmosphere of a post-9/11 political world) is blatantly unfair.
Also remember that the Patriot Act was crafted in secret by the DOJ and was literally dropped in Kerry's and Edwards' laps (along with every other Senator) for a vote without a chance for them to even read it! To demand to read it would've, again in a post-9/11 political world, put them at the severe risk of being publicly branded Appeasers, Traitors, Supporters of the Taliban, etc and so on. That is the doing of the GOP and not the fault of either Edwards or Kerry.
Can you imagine your world where every decision you made and every step you took, right or not-so-right?, were put under the same microscope that you put these men under? And then to have the ever-present risk of being punished by having your job taken away as a consequence of a decision made that was decided upon due to misinformation that was entirely not your doing?
Stick with the ABB (anybody but bush) Party and help bring some honesty and integrity to the White House. ANYONE is better than BelzeeBush and his Demons.
Jonathan
Right on,Jonathan.I am all for ABB.That only that
must be our objective and can be achieved in Novemeber and remeber United(for ABB) we stand &
divided we fall as the old saying goes!
I think I'm kinda with Roxanne on this one. I predict Kerry/ Edwards, (not happily). Anyway for all us ABB folks, check this out: http://www.cafeshops.com/dave1021 Oh yeah, Morgana I haven't added my thanks yet for the article, sorry so late, I LOVE the way you are so amazingly descriptive- the words seem to swirl & paint pictures in a sing-songy way. It's really neat.
You got it, Jonathan. ABB!
I credit Dean for inspiring me to even start looking at the other candidates, and for that I will support him fully, even if he may not end up with the nomination. I actually think of them all as a team, it does't really matter who gets to carry the baton over the finish line, what matters is that they all are given maximum support to bring whatever skills they have into the race. Most worthy projects are accomplished only with the participation of people who may be never fully given the credit. I also can't get past the chiron healer thing - it is the healer energy that is important, not the form that we think it may or may not take at any given point in time.
I really laughed at the rhododendron thing - my husband got me rose bushes so I could never accuse him of forgetting to buy me flowers!! LOL My kind of people.
Morgana,
I certainly agree with you when you wrote, “What Bush drove home was the separation of classes, by race, religion, sexual orientation and the almighty dollar.” All I want is for George Bush, this dim former alcoholic, cocaine user and deserter who cheated his way into the White House and now not only runs our country, but also Afghanistan and Iraq run out of town on a rail. Every single day I have this overwhelming angry with the GWB and the Republicans, the party of the Christian Coalition, National Rifle Association and the likes of Pat Robertson. I continually ask myself how the more broadminded and tolerant in our society can stop the Neo-Cons when the Republican Party now controls all of the branches of government and in effect the media. My seething anger at this situation lead me to lean towards Governor Dean. I like his pugnacious personality and “In Your Face Style”. John Kerry, on the other hand, appears far to boring and bland to me. The only bright spot for me with the disheartening sinking of Dean, is hopefully, if the Democrats end up with a candidate like Kerry or General Clark the Democrats might be more likely to pick up moderate Republicans and independents turned off by the demands of the Republican Party's extremist religious base that continues to dictate the intolerance and reactionary ideals of this contemporary Republican Party gone awry.
i agree with jonathan ; - ), and also with carolyn, BUT
BUT BUT BUT
it's not dem vs. bush, it's dem vs. diebold? so then who WON'T concede??? who won't force an investigation?
sally, you gotta be with me on this one, as a scorpio ; - ) !!!!
Right, Roxanne, the thing is to get HR 2239 and the companion Senate bill S 1980 passed so every voting machine in the country is required to have a voter verifiable paper trail FOR THE 2004 ELECTION. After will be too late. Although the Repubs are the majority in both houses, they aren't ready yet to come out strong in favor of fixed elections. With the spotlight on them and the public watching, they will have to support paper trails. That's why their strategy has been to keep the voting machine scandal under wraps. We must all write our elected officials, newspapers, etc. and unwrap. Best overall website on this is >http://www.VerifiedVoting.org
Well it looks like a horse race and I wouldn't count Dean down and out so fast, nor Edwards. The Media sure would, they're trying really really hard to sell Kerry, thus I suspect him already. At this point I don't trust a one of them not to be a Bush in disguise or the Democratic version thereof. Which of course draws the circle back to Yale and the Skull n' Bones association. It's an interesting subject, I hear they have one of my relatives skulls.
Iowa and New Hampshire are two states out of 50. I want to see who takes California.
Besides we are Americans and we are a strong People. OFU my ...
Yep, the Skull & Bones Society may indeed have our relative's skull, Morgana. I hope not. I hope they are not so depraved. And, yet, it looks as though they are. Our people, our native ancestors on this continent, may have been beaten, but we are not vanquished. Not yet. And I hope not forever.
Well, Here at Tai Zhou University in Lin Hai, in the year of the wood monkey.
I have just managed to see the famous Dean tapes including two on the scream and the Diane Sawyer interview on the computer which is working at the same time the electricity is working.
What in the hell are you all talking about?
The tapes look like a normal person talking at a rally. I have been to rallies and I acted just like that. I have had teachers at the university in America who scrammed at students like that.
You should be in one of my classes when it takes a twenty-two year old woman more than five minutes to turn off her cell phone and borrow paper to spit in because I will not let spit on the floor and consult with four friends in Chinese before she attempts to answer a question.
What kind of wimps are you, that you think normal people do not yell and scream? And who in hell has the right to tell you how to act? Some dumb TV person. Why have you not told the TV people where to go? I have already fired off 3 agnry responese to 3 TV stations from the other side of the world. I get better news of Iraq and some places than you do from CCtv-9. Why is that?
It is true that I can not get BBC. But I read British and Canadain papers.
I think it is better to raise hell than to live in hell. by a Rabbit who formerly met Bush twice in Austin,Texas when Ilived there.
I can spell better than I can type.
I saw Bush in person just outside the Driscoll Hotel when he had just won the Governor the first time and he had not taken office. Ann an ordinary human woman who yells and screams was still in the capitol. Ge was wearing shorts and a T-shirt like everyone else in Austin. He came over to speak to me and I congratulated him. He was being nice but wimpy. When Karen Hughes burst out of the hotel yelling for him stay away from strangers now he was the governor and he turned and went into the hotel like a whipped puppy.
That Hughes woman is real yeller or screamer.
Another time, I was down town in Austin when he and Laura had been eating in a restaurant on Congress Avenue and they came out just as a parade was starting and he found out he could not cross the street even though he was governor. HE HAD A HISSY FIT right there on Congress Avenue.
Bush and Rove are afraid of DEAN. Best reason to vote for him. Kerry is a wimp, now and a Skull and Bones man. Do a google on the Skull and Bones.
But least you think that any congressman or woman has no reason for failing to stand up to Bush remember the ANTHRAX ATTACK ON THE SENATE.
AND LET ME ASSURE YOU THAT EVERY SINGLE DETAIL OF EVERY CONGRESS MAN OR WOMAN IS ON FILE WITH ROVE.
AND THEY WILL BLACKMAIL AND THREATEN THE WIVES AND CHILDREN OF EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS.
Only a few people in Congress can stand up to being against them. We have a few of them, Kucinuk is one. Byrd is another. but the black woman from Georgia was a really good stander-upper and they got rid of her.
From one who lived in Texas 1989-2001. Travis County had to pay the settlements for Bushes free speech zones. There is a lot more trash going on than it seems.
We need to look at the charts for the election day and begin at midnight on that day and watch it progress across the country to Hawaii. See the changes that happen and where they will be.
Betsy, thanks for your observations. There is nothing like being there and reporting what you see. The congresswoman from Georgia, Cynthia McKinney, was my congresswoman when I lived in Atlanta. In fact, a woman's rights group I belonged to helped get her Emily's list money to run and win. Would love to see her back in congress again. Friends who comment on this site sometimes refer to From the Wilderness (mirror site > http://www.copycia.com )
You might want to check it out for more info on Cynthia.
Glad to see your comments Betsy. My gut instincts still are yelling to me that that Dean is the only one able to affect a change from politics as usual. I only hope his quick thinking and, I perceive, relatively pure motives will be able to be discerned by more and more people.
We had a mayor in our county elected by a landslide last time against the main old boy political machine network. How did he do it? Known integrety, honest plain speak, and pledging to take no more than $10 from any single donor in his campaign. A true representative electorate result from the grass roots level.
Wonderful article on skull and bones. Thanks so much for sharing that.
Zero Year
I.m sure that this has been thouroughly discussed here, but I am curious about the effect of the "zero year" or I think Jupiter return regarding presidential elections. Reagan (1980) came close to buying it, but no effect on dubya so far. However, as a friend pointed out, dubya was not actually elected. so would this effect apply to the rightful winner, Gore, or whoevr holds office, not at all this time around. I would be curious for any astrological enlightenment
thanks
