Gore to Endorse Dean! Hot damn they've got cajones! Okay so it warms the cockles of my heart that Gore is endorsing Dean. I recently gave up my 'not affiliated but registered' voter status and signed on to the Democrats side. So in answer to 'The Mountain Astrologer" magazine's question, 'Does my political affiliation affect my astrological interpretations'. Yes. I moan when they do something stupid, when waiting a day makes the difference. I rejoice when I see a chart like the one for the Gore to Endorse Dean announcement. I'm thrilled with the anticipation of their making the announcement in Harlem, New York which might also bring in my all time favorite Bill Clinton, the locale is just too too tempting. Then I decided to take a look at how a Dean and Gore friendship would look, how one would influence the other.
Bush's Boondoggle ~
The other news of the day was Bush's Boondoggle to the pharmaceutical contributors, from the lips of Jorge "We kept our promise. We found a way to get the job done". Half assed as usual. What a difference a day makes!
The Full Moon occurred in Washington, DC at 3:37 PM today and the internet ticker tapes within hours were flashing Gore to endorse Dean. That announcement is scheduled for 8:00 AM tomorrow according to CNN's InsidePolitics the Endorsement chart has a big red PLUS, whereas the Bush's Boondoggle chart has a big red X (like in a target) The transits to Howard Dean's natal chart finds a Cardinal Grand Cross. The energy generated with this configuration needs an outlet, a flow, a trine would be handy. Say the transiting Mars trine Howard's natal Sun will do nicely and exact on 12/8. The dynamics of the Grand Cardinal Cross have Jupiter at Midnight the IC cusp of the 4th House of the People in harmonious opposition lending its energy to the Noon Midheaven which is the 10th House cusp of the Nations Leader. Also transiting the 10th is Mars 26 in Pisces. Sounds like an oxymoron, the aggressive Mars in high-minded idealistic Pisces. Yet Mars energy is just what is needed to motivate this peaceful sign to action.
The other arm of this Grand Cardinal Cross finds my favorite gad about Mercury. At 7 degrees Capricorn this announcement is going to find roots among the People and the grassroots movements associated with changing the disastrous course our country is on. Along with the expansiveness of Jupiter and the combined resources of the media, Al Gore's endorsement is indeed a very big deal. Al Gore who won the popular vote in 2000 only to have the election ripped off by Bush Co and the Supreme inJustices, lends considerable credibility to Howard as being 'the Man of the People'.
The Beauty ~
The beauty here is the difference a day makes. Whereas Jorge raved, "We kept our promise. We found a way to get the job done". Albeit screwing our seniors with their Means Testing for Entitlement. Neither my husband nor I have renewed our AARP membership, we don't need to be sold short. The Medicare signing chart, for Bush's infamous derailment of Medicare spells it out. What jumps out is the close proximity of the transiting Sun and transiting Pluto nigh to forming a conjunction and so near the Ascendant that is in opposition to the transiting Full Moon at 14 Gemini 21 in the US 7th House is very edgy. That much power available can be so misused in infantile hands. Lot's of activity in the 1st House, all about 'me' with transiting Venus in Capricorn putting in an opposition to the US natal Sun certainly shows where the priorities lay, the decadence and decay. Chiron moves into the 2nd House which bodes ill quite literally, you only have to look as far as this years Flu Season and the lack of flu vaccines and the mis- dependence upon Western medicine to see the beginning of a catastrophe. The transiting Moon kissed Uranus at 00:35 AM before becoming full, natal Uranus is in the US 6th House. Our troops, our armies, our veterans, gratefully are exempt as the VA gets their pharmaceuticals from, guess where? Canada.
Dean Gore Comparison ~
What sparks my interest here is the placement of Al Gore's Mercury on Howard Dean's Midheaven (chart). Particularly since Al is involved in acquiring a cable channel to present a balanced view of our National situation. As my husband is often pointing out that 11 media corporations control 90 percent of the print, television and radio outlets. We live in Orwell's 1984 and we don't even get it. Al Gore is a smart savvy man and his tool is the 'pen' of mightier then the sword fame. Not bad for Howard's exposure. Al's Moon in Capricorn is close enough for government work with regard to Howard's Jupiter which forms a wide opposition to both Howard's natal Uranus which also makes a wide conjunction to Al's Uranus. Wow. Another kicker is in the 2nd House where we find Al's Ascendant leading off, followed by his Pluto, Saturn and Mars conjuncting Howard's Pluto! Talk about power assets! But that's not all, Al's Chiron conjuncts Howard's Sun, the Wounded Healer and the Doctor hmm.
This full moon will play into the Winter Solstice coming on December 22, 2004 George may be seeing a nice bump in the polls with Saturn moving off for a short time, and it's a small bounce. The Seniors are getting it, now if only our young people would. If they had any idea the debt that's being saddled on them when they reach their 'power years' we would hear howls as long and loud as those that echoed in the early seventies and the Boomer's had had it with Vietnam.

Coming under the Sag Sun eclipse, just moments after the full moon, this endorsement was not only news, it was a political earthquake.
Great as usual Morgana! Crazy as it is, this is the happiest I have felt all year. Doesn't say much for the state of our affairs. Let the healing begin.
i think an interesting time to look at astrologically would be debate time. gore declaring that dean was the only dem to get it right on iraq shows that is going to be the main issue. repugs will paint him as an anti-patriot who doesn't care about 9/11, which will force dean to ask bush the question - has there ever been a legitamate link to iraq? so there we have the repugs painting themselves in a corner. but if diebold has the machines fixed they can just run a seemingly 'clean' campaign, and say dean lost because he ran a dirty one, and they are so 'nice' when they are as we know the bloodthirsty anti-man, anti-god sickos.
i think the most important issue is to demand a paper trail and everyone voting dean should vote by absentee ballot. that message is the most important message of the election.
gores endorsement so early over lieberman pretty much seals it for the dem party going for dean, so that's cool!

First off , why are young people going to get it now when they have grown up in a consumer society? EG: Take the ideals of the original Woodstock and turn it into a Corporate playground. Only, when the truth comes down hard (911) seems to be the jolt to awaken the walking consumer dead.
Also ,I believe it was yesterday or today, but I heard on NPR that GW met with China's leaders who specificaly says Taiwan belongs to them. Now Bushie says that he believes in the 'One China' and wants to work with China. Sounds like a powerful meeting to me of the world's two superpowers. What's really going on? Is this where Dumbya is most vunerable on the Dec 8/9 vunerable days. Oh My.
Morgana: Thanks for the article. I am confused though. Which date are you using for Gore's announcement? Was it yesterday when the news was leaked or today when it occurred at 8AM or so? No reference to dates here so I just want to be clear.
Also, on a personal aside....where in this chart does Al Gore's lack of loyalty to old friends and allies betray itself? Lieberman, Kerry, Gephardt all went without notice of this announcement by him. Does this perhaps bear looking into? What are his motivations? Is it to get the field narrowed so that the real fight can begin? I just have a hunch there is more to this story then meets the eye. I almost have a feeling that somehow this is a power struggle between Clinton and Gore....somehow Gore wants to assert himself as head of the Dems and push the Clinton's off the stage once and for all.

Hidden agenda's, don't you know it? What if Gore didn't want to concede but was pressured to do so? Loyalty? Interesting question. Win'ability. I won't vote Bush Lite which to me equals anyone who supported Bush's fiasco. Why because hundreds of thousands of American's spoke out and our leaders turned deaf ears. I don't see this as a question of personal loyalty but one of national loyalty to the people. Hidden agenda's probably in spades.
My bottom line: Anyone but Bush.

I don't think Al Gore was very happy to be teamed up with a lil corpo rt-winger like lieberman. Gore has made his calculated dash to the new Dem party arising out of the ashes of the old, which, no doubt, he has helped to create. I think Clinton helped, too, but staying out of the limelight. And I thot it was fun to read about the old DLC guard being caught off guard... dissed, really. Yea Ho! time for them to go! There now definitely appears to be TWO dem parties... hopefully new healthy organization while the old cancerous repubocratic one dies... or takes the heat. ;O) "On schedule" as per the wonderful group of astrologers predicted.
Come to think on it, the Gore announcement might just as well be the announcement of the latest incarnation of the "new" dem party.
Roxanne, It's interesting that gore declared that dean was the only dem to get it right on iraq when Kucinich actually voted AGAINST it and both Sharpton and Mosley-Braun were opposed to it as well. I agree with you that this issue WILL be important in election choices. It is my #1! Did everyone watch the debates tonight? I like the point Kucinich (and Sharpton) made about our continuing occupation of Iraq being equal to supporting the Iraq war. Sharpton said something like it's like having someone break into your house illegally and the police letting them stay because, oh well, they are already in there.
Getting back to Gore's endorsement, maybe he's hoping that Dean will choose him for vice president. I think if Clark gets the nomination he will choose Hillary Clinton. I'd like to see a Kucinich / Moseley-Braun ticket!!!

I believe the last thing Gore wants is to be Vice President again. Perhaps another position in a Dean Administration, but not the #2 slot again. And I don't believe Hillary Clinton would accept a VP slot this election cycle. She's savy enough to realize that it's very important to finish at least one term as NY Senator before running for National Office. That's been Edwards' mistake ... running before he even finished his first term as Senator.

sometimes i feel that even though i'm rooting for dean my feelings are the same about our govt as after the concession. and that is that it is all an illusion that we have freedom to vote for our 'leaders'. 'they' have their agenda: even if dean gets in, there's something like 200 bills signed by bush to benefit corps and cripple the people, and we're in iraq. will we undo the damage? when will new rollbacks take affect, by the time the repubs get 'in' again? i do get into fighting the good fight, but my negative side finds it an awful bore where i feel the american people are 'the fool'..or is it my realistic side? who knows.

Heh heh heh, think of the jobs it will create just to research everything Bush has destroyed and the setting things aright.
Look at the American infrastructure that is crumbling in the hands of private companies - the Northeastern Blackouts is indicative of what is coming down the pipe. The repub's have so hobbled the cities, counties and states that much needed work remains undone because the feds are bleeding us dry. Thus we haven't the funds to pay for the projects. Schools closing, hospitals and emergency services poof.
We'll be busy for a long long time cleaning up this mess!

Hello, just a few scattered thoughts: Gore said Dean was the only "major" candidate not to back Bush on Iraq. Still a misstep--what makes Kucinich and Moseley-Braun unmajor? I think Sharpton is using the campaign as a forum, which is often done and nothing wrong with that--but I wouldn't call him a major candidate. This past weekend was at the FL Democratic Convention. Braun wasn't there--she was ill, Sharpton had the Sat Night Live gig and couldn't make it. Edwards flew in and flew out. He was there only a couple of hours and I missed his speech. Heard Dean, Gephardt, Kerry, and Kucinich. Didn't go to Liberman's forum--to me he is Bush Lite. Gephardt gave a good speech, as did the other three. But Gephardt, Kerry, and even Kucinich-who I think has very good intentions and love for his country--all presented a kind of top-down system for correcting our course. Dean's approach is- grass roots power- take suggestions from the people- and that is his great appeal. American voters have suddenly realized they aren't helpless--we really can change our direction. Speaking of Gore's chart, I remembered how Gore and Bush both have Leo rising--and the transits seem to affect them in the same areas of life, (but of course their planets are different locations.)

One of the congressmen or Senators is trying for a bill to make the machines have paper printouts and mandatory sampling of the paper ballots. Doubt that this Congress will pass it.
I happened to find that 6 days after the election a Saturn Mars square T Square when you add in the US Pluto and Saturn goes retrograde same day. Just before the election there are 2 eclispes and Neptune goes direct. Uranus also just after. This makes Saturn, Uranus and Neptune almost if not stationary on election day.
A midnight chart of election day has Moon square Jupiter and Saturn is opposit US Pluto. The Sun is square Neptune. And Mercury is on Dean's Sun.
I hope one of the great contributers to this board will address all this activity around election day. Best I can do is think that 2000 election was a cake walk to the explosion in 2004.
I also found that Dean, Kunicheck and Edwards charts seem activated at this time +plus many in the Bush adminstration and family. Jeb Bush has Saturn at 27 Libra squaring the Moon 2 Cap, which transiting Saturn activates also.
Also when the electorial college meets on Dec. 13, 2004:Venus conjuncts Dean's Sun and Saturn trians his Sun.. And Pluto conjuncts the Sun on that day.
Jean, Very interesting post. Re Neptune, Uranus, Saturn--I think the puppet-masters wanted a quiet 2004 election with their voting machines silently working for them. It ain't gonna happen that way. Rush Holt's bill in the House--HR 2239 had 94 co-signers on Dec 9--89 Democrats, 4 Republicans, 1 Independent. Sen. Bob Graham (D,FL) just introduced a companion bill in the Senate. Both bills will be dead this Fri (end of session.) But both will be reintroduced Jan. 2004 with the spotlight on them. Let's try to find out exactly when each bill is introduced again so good charts can be done.Bob Graham is ideal person to introduce this bill--he retires end 2004 so no personal interest, and he is soft-spoken and well-liked--hard to demonize. Election day explosion sounds better to me that a fixed cake walk.
I've heard that the only way to guarantee that our our vote will be counted in 2004 is to vote absentee ballot. Paper trail, you know!

You know, shylurker, I'm an avid Dean supporter and I didn't know this. However, I have nothing against a "defense" system if it will protect my children from being blown to smitherines. What gets me is an "offensive" system in space. That's where I draw the line. Bushco I believe would love a total offense system in space and I would be totally against that.
I'm going to do some research and see exactly what Dean has said about the subject.
