The Summer of our Discontent
The Chart
Walter Cronkite, I have heard him deliver the news to the People since the early 1950's. I listened once again to this wise man recently on "CNN NewsNight with Aaron Brown," his observations echoing the voices I hear on the streets, in the stores, at the grocery checkout counter. 'There are no Weapons of Mass Destruction, we were lied to, thousands of innocent Iraqi people have died, thousands of Iraqi people maimed. Thousands more abused now on a daily basis, treated with disrespect.' Cronkite's words quietly delivered made me feel okay, I'm not nuts, there is something really really wrong in America. Here this venerable wise man is returning to a weekly column so he might speak up about the unanswered questions the People are asking and our leaders aren't answering, stepping up to the plate at 89, calling it as he sees it. By his seeing the need for someone to step up , is a damning indictment of the American Journalists of today who have forsaken their Journalistic Creed and have participated in the grand deception of the American People with their cowardice, compliance, and greed.
The absolute control the Bush Regime holds over the corporate media is being challenged by none other than Al Gore. He's Baaacckkk, and looking to right the record. "Revisionist History" Mr. Bush? "Weapons of Mass Destruction - to Programs of Mass Destruction". The exit of Saturn from Gemini has loosed the 3rd House of the Communication and opened the flood gates of information spilling out the dark secrets of the Bush Regime into the light of the American People (sorry Europe already knew it folks)
From the darkened corridors of the DIA, CIA, FBI word comes their work was manipulated, ignored, revised, 'sexed up'. These agencies whose existence is to protect the Nation and it's People from within and without will not have their reputations sullied and muddied by a fascist adminstration constituted of draft dodging rich businessmen staging a corporate takeover on a global scale. Or are they as dirty as the Supreme Court who overturned the vote of the People? Think not that Justice isn't on the astrological fireing line. Jupiter has just crossed the 9th House threshhold with Tulia Texas and Benton Harbor Michigan, displaying the state of American Justice, let alone the Death Camps at Quantanamo, Pluto is in a tight trine with the transiting Moon (the People) slicing directly accross it in opposition to the U.S Mid Heavean, the 10 House, the pResident, Hello George... It's time American Justice returned to it's foundations, and Pluto will do that for us.
Our Military leaders, retired Generals, Admirals, whose voices are raised in concern over actions of the Bush Administration. American assets being overworked, burning out, driven and dieing daily. Our troops are not dispensible assets, their lives not to be wasted. Will our Military leaders stand by and watch the disintegration of America and the decimation of our National resources let alone relations ?
The wretched little man in office, is going to feel the Saturnian squeeze, the transiting Moon two degrees Aries directly squares the Sun and Saturn, the Sun represents the little man in office, you know the one behind the curtain. Add a little hot water and boil, Mars and Uranus are one and two degrees Pisces respectively, doubling there power to pack a punch right out of the US House of Communications bang, right on the Sun and Saturn tango. This Seventh House is horribly busy, transiting Mercury and Venus are talking in Gemini, that ole trickster Loki represented by Mercury, and Venus have finally done the Texas Two step just crawling up the Sun's tail wind lots of chatter.
The People, the Moon having crossed the threshhold of the Angular 4th House at two degrees Aries, sitting on the IC, new beginnings, new peoples now under the American umbrella, Iraqi's, Afghani's, they are no longer their own. Their water systems are fouled and fetid, their children die of dysentry, starvation, their men have no work, they raise they voices in protest and get killed. Their freedom of the press is shutdown by it's occupiers, us. Any questions why we have the First Amendment? No? It's not too far off from some of the places here in our own land, and it could be in our own back yards tomorrow if Patriot II passes. Any questions why we have the Second Amendment?

I've been kinda concerned about Monday's Mars-Uranus conjunction and the WTO Ag Expo coming to town next week. But I got the following in my e-mail, which will be happening on Monday. I can see how a show of force to protect the Potemkin Chimpostor might turn ugly.
PROTEST of BUSH in NEW YORK CITY on JUNE 23 (See http://www.votermarch.org/BushNYC.htm for complete information) Protest on Monday, June 23rd at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Manhattan at Seventh Avenue where Bush will be staging a $2,000 a plate Presidential re-election campaign fund-raiser at the Sheraton New York Hotel.
Thousands of people are expected to protest the unelected President who is seeking a second term and his policies, including unprovoked military aggression against occupied Iraq, corrupt influence of corporate interests, and disregard for the environment, women's rights and civil rights.
The Sheraton New York Hotel is located on Seventh Avenue between 52nd Street and 53rd Street. There will be permitted protest sites along the westerly side of Seventh Avenue, south of 52nd Street and north of 53rd Street. Voter March has a permit for the area between West 53rd and 54th Streets on Seventh Avenue, and will be joined by co-sponsors http://NoBloodForOil.org, Democracy March. Please download and distribute our pdf FLYER at http://www.votermarch.org/bushnyc.pdf
If Mars-Uranus is exact at just after noon on Monday on the west coast, I'm assuming it'll be around 3 p.m. in New York, so this will be happening when the aspect is beginning to wane.
Pat - It could get very violent. I just did a quick chart
http://www.alabe.com/chart/28121858.gif
Mars is only one minute past Uranus, but falls exactly on the IC a couple of minutes past 5 PM. Also the Sun is trine Mars/Uranus, triggering the energy, even though Mars/Uranus has begun to wane. So there is a double trigger around then. It could indeed get violent.
Morgana - Thanks for the terrific article. I loved the quote from Cronkite, having not seen it before. It does indeed say a lot about our modern jounalists that someone 89 needs to come out of retirement to tell us the truth in no uncertain terms.
Hi Nancy thanks, the quote is from the People in the street, I'm still waiting for Cronkite's transcript to post, so I didn't quote him directly. Mar/Uranus, there is so much agression in the air, my neighbors,I live in a relatively peaceful neighborhood in the redwoods, the agressive driving, fights and arguments breaking out, all that before noon today. Be safe out there!
Morgana
morgana - fantastic article..mucho adernaline! were you on coffee or cigarettes? do tell! reminds me of the poetry i used to write as an amphetamine teenager (that's the highest compliment)!!! your passion is magical natural or not!
god bless the protest on monday, and damn bush to hell where he belongs.
Roxanna it actually did reminded me of being a teenager, I wokeup this morning and found myself singing Barry McQuire's "Eve of Destruction", I was protesting back in 64, and I was burying my friends. I remember sitting in the Sun on a summers day, singing the song, and fingering the copper MIA bracelet I wore. I haven't changed much at all, passion, ala natural Gemini :)
Regarding the press and its role in supporting the political fever of terrorism, I have to mention a book (and movie) by Heinrich Boll (there's an umlaut over the "o") called The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum (die verlorene Ehre der Katharina Blum). Even if you do not like literature (or German(s)), you should rent this movie, which was recently re-released in February this year with English subtitles. West Germany suffered through a severe crisis of liberties and social tyranny in the 1970s during the hysteria caused by the RAF and Baader Meinhoff terrrorist groups. The over-reaction and public fear (and terror) was fueled by the Press (Springer, publishers of the Bild newspaper) in the 1970s, while we in the USA were embroiled in Watergate and, later, the Iranian revolution. The movie is very good on its own, and is an excellent warning. The rare interview with Heinrich Boll, a Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature, is worth the rental alone. Of course, don't expect Blockbuster or one of the commerical corporate chains to carry it - look for it at your funky college video rental store, if you're lucky enough to have one.

Morgana, all the above posts have captured the insightful and informative work you are producing. We here are blessed to have you guys, the Astrologers.
Thanks for keeping at it and keeping us informed.
Thank you Nancy. That's a mean looking chart. Between the New York and the WTO in California, this is piling up as pretty violent.
What a world!!
hey nancy that nyc chart does look quite interesting..esp since the u.s. sun as well as bush's sun falls in the 8th...it's atleast an 'obvious' wake up call? and that's the least of it..
i think bush's astrocartography doesn't bode well for nyc either if my memory serves correctly..
please, i've been rehearsing my rendition of 'ding dong the witch is dead' since learning of the-year-ending-in-'0' phenomena in 2001..it's difficult for me to feel this way, as a christian, but the man has ruined so many lives.
morgana, wow i remember those copper bracelets, even though i was born in 1959..
it's good to see that there are some people your age that didn't fall asleep in the 70s and wake up dead in the 80s..
the temptations, 'ball of confusion' is a better song for today though: eve of destruction, tax deduction; vote for me and i'll set you free, rap on brother, rap on; run run run but you just can't hide. with those ascending horns, then: hey kooka chooka can't you hear me talkin' to ya.
too bad we don't have any good music to go with these hard times, but jimi hendrix still sounds great to me. his star spangled banner with his guitar imitation of 'the rocket's red glare' shows us sadly that nothing's changed with the idiots running the show.
Hi everyone,
Here in NYC I just saw the BIG helicopters for the president or some other dignitaries heading in for a landing. Heeeeeeee's back. Send prayers and blessings to my city please if you can.
Prayers and blessings to New York City.
Hmmmmmm... personally, my thot is that bushie fell off the Segway because he was sloshed... like getting the big nose bruise after falling off the couch during the pretzel munching... or choking... or whatever. Mebbe that's what you guys meant & I missed it... ;o)
Those are fighting words Morgana. Sounds like you are mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore. Me too!!!
You certainly are not afraid to tell it like it is, and that's what I admire most about you Morgana. You certainly have cojones in abundance. Lol. Looks like there is a sudden awakening up at Capitol Hill, and in the media. Hope Al Gore manages to get that cable network up and running so he can use it to sink Bush in the next Presidential election (or even before). Your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm beginning to get excited!
You go girl! It's up to the People to put pressure on, someone mentioned a list of companies and products to boycott? Since our Congressional Representative's are being shutdown, everyman's voice is nolonger being heard, Tom DeLay controls floor debate. It's time for whatever good Republican's that are left to get some backbone and come to the aid of the People.
Morgana,
Did you provide the link to the Eric Francis article you mentioned on Bush and I just missed it? Please let me know as I'd like to check it out.
Jonathan
YES !
Right on it Morgana.
Well my song this summer has been
Dylan's Masters of War.
I pulled it up after I saw these pictures of the
beautiful little children who were suffering from the war in Iraq, the little earth angels who were injured from the bombs, and some were running, some were just standing alone and crying and confused they were all so innocent and so afraid and there were soldiers pulling families out of their homes with guns pointed at them.
The rage that was rising in me was so unbearable it was beyond words. So I couldn't write an angry letter, I had to make a video animation of the war with the children and in the video I could turn the idiot heads into the monsters they really are.
In the end I stepped on their heads till they stayed in the ground. Then the sun came out and the gardens in Iraq grew again.
Masters of War was really quite suitable.
I find myself singing it often now while I go about my gardening.
dedacherry, is your clip online? I'm building an editorial cartoon page, would you mind emailing me? Some great clips out there.
Yes, I understand your anger, your outrage and the feeling of utter impotence in the face of such monsters. Still gona keep on truckin'
Thanks,
sea_witch@yahoo.com
helps if I give you the email address.
My goodness! Get a load of this!

Hearing voices, smiting enemies
He hears a Voice and smites enemies: An eagle-eyed reader directed me to the last paragraph of a piece in the Israeli paper Ha'aretz (Arnon Regular, 'Road map is a life saver for us,' PM Abbas tells Hamas) based on "selected minutes acquired… from one of last week's cease-fire negotiations between Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas and faction leaders from the Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Popular and Democratic Fronts." Here's the relevant paragraph, admittedly second-hand, but no less tellingly Old Testament for that:
"Abbas said that at Aqaba, Bush promised to speak with Sharon about the siege on Arafat. He said nobody can speak to or pressure Sharon except the Americans. According to Abbas, immediately thereafter Bush said: 'God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them.'"
Evidently, if I'm catching my own voices correctly, should the road map not sort itself out quickly, Bush is indicating that he'll have to turn to the domestic situation and launch "preventive" raids on the last strips of Democrat-occupied America. There, according to the latest "solid intelligence" (like the kind that didn't get Saddam and his sons at the Syrian border just days ago but did manage to kill some Iraqi villagers), he's expecting his special forces teams to uncover both the missing Iraqi precursors for their weapons of mass destruction and definitive links between Governor Deane, Senator Kerry and a resident of Boston listed in the phone book as Albert Kaida.
She hears a voice and smites American generals: We're talking about Judith Miller "reporter" for the New York Times, who turns out to have made more news than she bothered to misreport, and the voice she's been hearing these many months has been Ahmed Chalabi's. Howard Kurtz, media guy for the Washington Post, has been trying to "out" her for a while. His most recent piece on how Miller has over-performed her journalistic duties is a wowser. (Embedded Reporter's Role In Army Unit's Actions Questioned by Military) She seems to have taken on the roles of general, debriefer of enemy prisoners, and strategist -- and the Special Forces team she was "embedded" in evidently came to be called the "Judith Miller team." As I've long been saying, her reporting, not Jayson Blair's, is the real scandal at the Times, because she, unlike him, made a difference in how American! s took in the war in Iraq. Kurtz's piece begins:
"New York Times reporter Judith Miller played a highly unusual role in an Army unit assigned to search for dangerous Iraqi weapons, according to U.S. military officials, prompting criticism that the unit was turned into what one official called a 'rogue operation.'
"More than a half-dozen military officers said that Miller acted as a middleman between the Army unit with which she was embedded and Iraqi National Congress leader Ahmed Chalabi, on one occasion accompanying Army officers to Chalabi's headquarters, where they took custody of Saddam Hussein's son-in-law. She also sat in on the initial debriefing of the son-in-law…
"In April, Miller wrote a letter objecting to an Army commander's order to withdraw the unit, Mobile Exploitation Team Alpha, from the field. She… suggested that she would write about it unfavorably in the Times. After Miller took up the matter with a two-star general, the pullback order was dropped."
Senator Byrd, gotta love this guy! He let it rip again !

"The Road to Coverup is the Road to Ruin"
Whoo hoo the People are hollerin' at their Congress/Senator folks. And it's heatin' up.
Who says American's don't care! Wrong again bucko!
TaHAAA! Today's ruling by a majority of the USSC for the gay community is bound to also be big trouble for bushie... the christianoids being a huge chunk of his constituency n' all. Gosh, I wish I cld be a little mouse at some of their gatherings for just a few minutes (who cld stand much longer than that?!) ;o)
Here is a small sample they are willing to make public.

This is an actual alert sent out by Jerry Falwell on January 26th. Are
Jerry and Antonin Scalia threatened by homosexuality? Sure looks like it.
Maybe they are one step from coming out of the closet.
FALWELL CONFIDENTIAL
DATE: June 26, 2003
FROM: Jerry Falwell
TEXAS SODOMY LAW OVERTURNED - A TRAGEDY FOR AMERICA
In a stunning reversal from its 1986 decision upholding the rights of
states to enact anti-sodomy laws, the Supreme Court, by a 6-3 vote, ruled
to overturn a Texas law that banned same-sex sodomy, saying that it
violated a right to privacy.
Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote the opinion for the majority, citing a
"right to privacy" in his decision. Joining him in the decision were
Justices John Paul Stevens, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen
Breyer. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor agreed with the ruling, but differed
in the rationale for her decision. (Sadly, four of the six Justices voting
for the majority ... O'Connor, Souter, Kennedy and Stevens ... were
appointed by Republican presidents.)
Dissenting were Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Justices Antonin
Scalia and Clarence Thomas.
Justice Scalia, who chose to read his dissent aloud from the bench, said
that the Court "has largely signed on to the so-called homosexual agenda."
"The court has taken sides in the culture war," Scalia said. He further
noted that this ruling would invite laws allowing same-sex marriage.
"This reasoning leaves on shaky, pretty shaky grounds, state laws limiting
marriage to opposite-sex couples," Scalia wrote.
Mathew Staver, President and General Counsel of Liberty Counsel called the
decision a "wakeup call" to the majority of Americans who believe in
traditional marriage.
"The goal of the radical homosexual agenda is to eliminate any and all
laws regulating consensual sexual conduct," Staver said. "This would mean
the elimination of laws banning polygamy as well as those that ban sex
between adults and minors."
real christians know that only God judges, and that's why we have free will...as a christian i believe that people should be allowed to do what they want, including ignoring the fact that there may be a piper to pay at the end of the road for acts that go against 'nature' so to speak..
to say in that article that it's a wake-up call to the american people? a wake up call to what? that people of the same sex have sex? it's as old as the hills...people who say things like that are so bent on having to prove to themselves that they're 'ok'...it's so juvenile.
i've lived in gay neighborhoods and have lived with gay men...if i can say 10 percent of all that i've known were actually happy and stable humans, i'd be stretching it..there are people like al gore and dems and so-called liberals who accept homosexuality so easily, having not been there..and seen... the blood on the mattresses, and tears of sickness..but anyway....if God gave man free will who is man to take it away from each other? in reality this issue is more about 'the times' than politics..people like bush aren't christians anyway, and anyone who has the 'holy spirit' has the discernment to know that instictively, it's part of the 'gift' of being a christian .
..decades ago it would be unheard of that two women would kiss on tv..these days, it would be unheard of to think that in decades from now, adults would be screwing little children on tv...decades after that it will be reality tv of killing each other..(well we nearly had that with the war already)..
there is an agenda, but it's not political or even cultural, imo..it's just the disintigration of the spirit of man/God..
we live in times where even people with the best intentions get confused about who is on what side..according to astrology and aspects of planets in signs, having a debauched self-indulgent, and self-destructive lifestyle can be about world leaders and politicians, as well as everyday people..there are healthy aspects and unhealthy ones.
americans are famous for fighting enemies that are really just as loathsome as themselves..just like bush vs. hussein.....and they all go down together! it happens on all levels here...there may be people who would disagree with me here, but when i see gays fighting repugs, it really makes me want to give up my citizenship, as in 'i'm outta here'...
does anyone out there know about what's going on here in california??
the repugs have got a plan to completely take california by putting the gross arnold schwartzeneger up for govt!!!! there's a recall for the gov davis who's a conservative dem (that no one likes really), and they're baiting the population with this meat brained actor??? i'm so appalled, has anyone heard about this?
'The World is as you see it'. 'The only sin is the conciousness of sin'.
yoga aphorisms.
This, that and the other leave us all boxed into our small minded theories.
Religious thinking and lableing leave us in the box no matter how cool and 'renaisssnace' we think we are.
Right on for LOVE. That's what won!!!!!
People have the same problems in the "het" community, Roxanne. It's because they're people... not because they're one orientation or another. And, there're two other orientations besides: "bi" & "a". The Great Cosmic Mother gave birth to them all to express love... not burden each other with self-serving ego-concepts.
Good on you Joanna!
What a loving remonstrance - gentle, and so-kind-it-probably-flew-right-over-the-head of the self-serving ego-concept generator.
Not enough time or interest right now to go toe-to-toe with you, Roxanne, with everything you wrote. But I do want to point out one "minor" thing that you said which makes me discredit or ignore anything else you write after that. And that is you begin with "real Christians know that only God judges ... as a real christian" and then you go on and JUDGE people i.e. "people like Bush aren't real Christians anyway", "gross Arnold Swartzenneger", "meat-brained actor". I mean, come on, Roxanne. You can't have it both ways, lambasting someone for judging someone else and then unleashing a torrent of judgement against other people yourself.
Think about it.
Jonathan
Thank you, Jonathan.
Anyone care to enlighten us about two very important solar returns coming up in July (US and Smirky)?
observation isn't judgement though.. i can observe and opine on arnold s. .. and i can do the same by looking at bush's actions, and then reading the scripture that he quotes that he follows...that's not a judgement that's an observation..but i'm not going to say a gay person is going to hell and should be prevented from what he likes to do sexually because of the judgement, i said, therefore i do not judge.
love? if that's what you've observed in the gay community in regards to the sex, then i haven't seen any, or as i said, about 10% ...
but it is true, joanna, that everyone has problems..of course.
but the main point of the post was the political plans in california..
seems politics is what this board is about, true? every time someone on the board steps outside the political arena to talk of cultural, social or relgious, you've got a majority of like-thinkers here, right? so when one (usually me), opines differently, i'm small minded? that's a bit upside down..i would think to follow the typical mindset of a given political type, would be a bit more small minded than to object to what seems to be the obvious take one should have. to insist all think the way we are "suppose to", just because we don't like bush is extremely small minded, and self-serving and egotistical as well as robotic.
further it's really depressing that people who are smart (people who realize what terrible leaders the country has), cannot be tolerant of a difference of opinion.
what the kind of response above leaves me with is that both the forward thinking lot, the lot here, who talk of what's best for this country in a very sensible way, AND the backward lot, who still think Bush is doing a good job, ALL got the president they deserved.
because there seems to be this need to have a set mindset, with no freedom, just boundaries .. either this or that, one is either a this, or a that.. there can't be a bush voter in the south who says, 'well wait a minute here why are there still americans dying.' no they will get stoned to death for that -- and you can't have a person who wants bush out say, well i don't judge homosexuals, but personally i haven't met many stable ones...oooo no, you have to think like us! here's a yoga thing for ya..please --
break free, it's ok to be a bit of both y'know? you take what makes sense from conservative thought, and what makes sense (making sense meaning what is positive) from liberal, and youget your 'answer', all of this extremism is so dangerous.
would so-called liberals want to jail neo-cons? i get the feeling it may be so. think about what you're really saying.
Roxanne, you want us to think about what we are "really saying," yet sometimes I have to re-read your posts to ferret out any clarity of thought. I felt your first post about gays was blatantly judgmental.
I'm a strong believer in "live and let live" and "to each his own." Who are we to judge anyone's "stability" anyway? In the end, it is us who inevitably "punishes" ourselves as our entity chooses lifetime after lifetime best suited for what we need to learn. One can think of their life as a joy, or one can think of their life as dull and unfulfilling. I choose to feel gloriously lucky to be alive, I choose to love life and to be kind and understanding of everyone's lot in life. I believe it quite ironic that the neocon in this life will be the poor starving innocent child in the next. Therefore, I will stay away from any "judgment."
My problem with the Bush administration is that they are wrong for this country and the world. I know these guys will get their comeuppance in the end, which is as inevitable as paying taxes and dying. I would like to see Bush impeached, not because I detest him but because it would be the beginning of our country getting on the right road and a higher moral ground. However, this is where my desire for revenge ends, I do not wish ill health or death to anyone. I certainly hope he is not martyred but, if he is, then there are reasons for it that are probably beyond us.
When I was younger, my parents taught me that sometimes, no matter what you say and no matter how well your intentions, there will be times when it's like talking to a brick wall. And, more often than not, you'll be met with the same invective and lack of clarity that prompted you to first speak out. I suspect, and I could be wrong, that I'm in a situation like this right now. So, I'm going to invest my energy in wiser pursuits ... like trying to understand dispositorships, rulerships, Empty Houses, etc. and so on. And, when need be, I'll just s-c-r-o-l-l down until the "storm" stops and I can see some "Sun" again.
Jonathan
Jonathan, you are very wise.
Sally,
just read something about the BBC and Israel and then something about CNN being pulled out of cable contracts out there - which caused me to ask a question I've been mulling over:
How come the sh_t hits the fan regarding communications, print, media, tv, AFTER Saturn leaves Gemini. Woulda thought it would happen during its transit.
Oh yeah, and the BBC suing Brit gov't officials and vice versa. . .
