Let me start by telling you I am the antithesis of a Domestic Diva, food is not my friend, and echo'ing my favorite folk hero Maynard G. Krebb's, "house orkWORK!" as I run screaming into the night.
Martha Stewart wouldn't normally draw my attention, billionairess, model, the ideal homemaker, oh geeze, the perfect hostess. She can handle herself, and her affairs quite capably. Nor am I a great Hillary fan, but for some reason those Neo-Con cowboys want to take both these ladies down.
Why are they making these women a target? Is it because these NeoCon bullies want to bring into submission these positive, successful, outspoken female role models so we can have more barbarian girls, amazon warrior women slinging animals entralls around the necks and down the throats of what, their team mates?
You see these guys have a plan, and they are executing that plan every day, undermining this that or the other rights or resources of the common man. So what's up? What's significant with women. Besides taking the first step today toward returning women to coat hangers in back alley butcher shops, but I've digressed.
On August 26, 1920 the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified giving American women the right to vote, Russian, English, Canadian women had the vote before we did. We gained our voice and were recognized as having rights. Uranus then was in Pisces 3 degrees 43 rx sitting on the 4th House Cusp, and today we sit with t. Uranus at 2 degrees Pisces 49 making a conjunction and signifying yet another front on the NeoCon agenda on which they're unleashing their abysmal horror.
If that were not enough we find t. Uranus, same bugger here, in a Grand Cross, nasty ugly red thing, like X marks the spot in the transit chart for the 19th Amendment Chart, natal Mars is on the Ascendent in Scorpio and is forming a close opposition to t. Venus/Mercury on the Descendent, priming the pump you might say. Now when our energy could be going to healing and bridging the gap between ourselves and realizing that 'We' have a responsiblity to humanity, rather we are in for the fight of our lives to retain our rights. The body of this red X is made with our bugger t. Uranus conjuncting its natal Uranus in an opposition forming to the natal Sun, in our case, our pResident. Oh no suprise there, the old man in 1920 thought he had problems, hah! Uranus I suspect will have some unpleasant suprises instore. The People, the t. Moon is cruising through the 9th House, hmm, 9th House, law, justices, pourin' some of that moonshine right on our dysfunctional US Judicial System and their trampling of States rights, and of course Hillary's book...smart Scorpio woman.
The NeoCon's are out to demoralize and denigate the American woman, don't ever forget that...barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen, it is their idea of a good role model. Take away or make ridiculous successful women, and our daughters will have nothing to aim for.

The House passed some other draconian "control the women" anti-abortion bill this week. The stuff with Martha Stewart is way over the top, where is Ken Lay?
Hopefully, this will backfire on the bozos through the Law of unintended consequences. Everybody says the same thing: MARTHA! what the f__k, where's KEN LAY?
This is pretty funny, considering that Martha's over-the-top relentless obsessiveness is pretty universally disliked.

I highly recommend it, full of pithy tidbits like she held a Series 7 stockbroker License and her behavior had to be above reproach, and she clearly knew better.
I am no Martha fan, but, I say let's deal with Ken Lay whole "stole" billion vs Martha $45,000 penny wise and pound foolish illegal venture.
Those that say the world's population is 50/50 female to male is NOT correct. It's about 52+% female; about 48-% male. Neocons are looking at a huge constituency of mostly educated--some VERY well educated--women, whose children are grown & who are looking for good avenues in which to contribute... they want to get out & mix. The only way neocons think they can control this huge group is to increase the nasty vitriolic voice of the Boogie Man Controller INSIDE of her psyche, where "he" yammers at her about how stupid & useless she is. But that's nothing new; that's been the ongoing script from the likes of the old porno-puritan, now renamed neocon, for way more than a few millennium now. We'll see how it goes THIS round!! It really is a huge issue in the energy balance (yin/yang) in us all imo.

No matter how rediculous the charges are against Martha Stewart, I think she is in deep trouble because Ashcroft is IMO is deeply insane. Of course Watergate was allowed to occur in a more civilized society. It takes more to outrage the people now. We have truly been desensitized by media, the perception of the need for things, and loooong working hours. Addiction is a way of life for too many Americans, and we were ripe for the electoral theft by people who are not just part of capitalism gone to extremes, they ARE capitalism gone to extreme. In most cases these men and women don't exactly break the law, they twist the spirit of the law and use it to refuse human freedom. Couple that with the few things I mentioned, high tech voting machines, and they are very sure they are in power for life.
I know that there is a higher power and it is always aware, and in charge. That gives me peace. After many years here on this earth, I also know that we are expected to participate in our own destiny, so peace is not lackadaisical. Maybe the accumulation of lies, violence, and ridiculous intrusions on individual lives will break the hypnotic spell. All I know is I will not stand still for fascism and the death of the future. I visualize, but I will also organize.
I read the indictment of M. Stewart and it was insane, the whole thing. We are seemingly, as a nation, so far into "Alice's Hole" that I figure in this climate they will put M. Stewart in prison for life or the death penalty.
This last eclipse at 9 Gemini squared her Venus which, in her chart, rules the 12th house of incarceration. She also has a 10 degree Leo Sun squaring her 10 degree Scorpio Asc.that alone says "trumped up charges," and possible betrayal. Certainly Martha doesn't appear to have the "feminine" qualities we have come to identify as acceptable in women, but her "sin" if there was one is nothing compared to the big boyz and a blatent attempt to make her the scapegoat for the obsecene greed of the corporate theives. Ashcroft probably hasn't been this happy since he picked out the right color of blue for the breast of Justice. That act alone was a good omen of what was to come for women.
The picture of Ashcroft in June's above post looks for all the world like the demon Mephistopheles sent to keep Faust in line when he made a pact with the devil. In fact there seem to be quite a few "Mephistopheles" in this administration. Our own Faust (GWB) must have made a pretty strong pact to warrent so many of them surrounding him. Chilling

The authors of "Bush's Brain, how Karl Rove made Bush look presidential," state that part of Rove's 2004 presidential campaign strategy is already in the works: special interest groups have been told NOT to contribute any money to the Democratic Party on pain of receiving NOTHING from the Bush White House/Senate/House, etc., which the GOP Right Wing now controls.
Rove wants to prevent the Dems from being able to raise any money, hence, they cannot run anything like an effective campaign.
Martha Stewart was a huge contributor to the Democratic Party. Her indictment is a MESSAGE from Karl Rove to the Democrats and to their contributors. "Look what we can do to you if you fund the Democrats."
The Martha indictment also comes at a time when Bush is under public fire internationally for proof of WMD's in Iraq. The word has come out from Karl Rove in the White House: the Senate Committee has been told to shut it up and disband and Bush said in Qatar that "it will take time" to find the WMD's. They'll either plant WMD's and try to pass that off, or just hope that the whole issue "goes away."
The Martha indictment is to distract the American Public from Iraq and it's growing discontent with America and the fact that Shiite radical Islamists might well succeed in starting a civil war and then instituting a relgious government.
Let's not forget the lies, lies, lies told about Bush's most recent "tax cut." Cutting dividend taxes? Corporations don't pay dividend taxes anyway. They have off-shore bank accounts and enjoy numerous tax loops. I mean, what's it all about, Alfie?
The people of this country are either terrified, brain dead or just stupid. Unless Bill Clinton gets another blow job, I doubt we'll see anyone reacting to much of anything. The outrage is dead because America has been beaten into submission. The GOP has been at this and planning this for a minimum of 30 years.

I think at some point Ken Lay should have had enough money and George Bush should have had enough power, without having to own the entire Middle East and every single drop of oil and steal the last penny from the poor in this country and help cause global warming and leave gargantuan deficits for their children and comprehensively destroy the Constitution and everything this country stood for and make sure the power is turned off on every single little old lady in California and utterly destroy anyone anywhere who might have midly questioned their divine right to rule and own everything and.... GWB is, indeed, treacherous and a grave threat to what many hold dear; however, Dr. Faustus was reportedly a brilliant mind who became bored with the limits of knowledge and thus sought supernatural powers. GWB may be intersted in a similar bargain, but he certainly lacks the intellect and credentials that Dr. Faustus possessed. Maybe Satan will offer GWB a discount at the Wal-Mart in Hades instead.

The whole month of June has a beautiful Mystic Rectangle holding in the planets. Jupiter in Leo opposes to Neptune in Aquarius. That opposition is in sextile/trine with the opposition of Pluto in Sagittarius opposed to, first Sun in Gemini, and then in turn, Venus in Gemini and Mercury in Gemini.
On the 9th and 10th as the Moon moves through Libra, a fifth point forms along with the Mystic Rectangle. If you have some planets in Aries in your chart, you'll be especially lit up. There is still so much burning. That is what these days are good for. Just throw all your old karmic crud on the fire of your being with what is as it is. What burns away is not you. You are not what you think you are or what you think you were or will be. You are, beyond the stories and identification. Identification in any projected object, including those things you'd call in you, creates suffering. Claiming your consciousness as who you are burns off the karmic layers of suffering that want to replicate and project forever.

You have been becoming aware that the system of the mind, of Creation, of karma and the Wheel is goofy, that it doesn't deliver you to your self. Creation distracts you from your self and that is its one and only point. If you are getting tired of it, you can turn off the Dream for your self. When you are done, you won't miss it.
Saturn is in Cancer until 7/16/2005. That is a quick transit. Cancer is quick, as it represents the quick peak of summer. Cancer is fertility itself. It is the Mother and thereby birth and therefore everything with incarnation. This is the deep baseline of ancient, archetypal experience that is now stirred. Saturn, which rules Capricorn, the sign opposite of Cancer which is ruled by the Moon, brings forth all the karmic layers of things Cancery.
Everybody wants their mommy. No matter what they think, or how big or mature or enlightened they think they may be, they want mama. When you were floating about in the Ethers grubbing for a human incarnation, you wanted a mommy to portal your birth into this dimension. When the shit hits the fan and the pain is high and the end of your body seems near, you want your mommy. Big strong shattered soldiers dying in the arms of their compatriots call out for mama. The mind offers climb maxes as entertainment. Are you having fun yet? Cancer is intensely about control. It wants to nourish and herd in order to reduce the chaos of emptiness. It must fill the hole in the name of making it whole. Well that's lovely, but it just doesn't work. But it will work you and work you and work you. Nesting one's self is the effort of the next two years. This may sustain the economy for some time. Trying to get one's home and family in order is the agenda. It applies to the Middle East as much as it applies to you and yours. The pressure of trying to control the unconscious is what will make it explode. Please read that again. I don't think Martha's punishment fits the crime. It's too harsh. Morgana is probably right when she says that she's paying the price for supporting the Dems. I don't see how she could resign from the company, when she IS the company.
Sally, you couldn't have said it better about that Faust pact, and I agree that Martha is being made a scapegoat. Most of the right wing nuts probably hate to see women succeed. They should go pick on Ann Coulter.

peggy, thanks for the cancer/mother insight..i just gave birth a few months ago to a disabled child, so have been feeling particularly cancerian! i wonder if saturn in cancer is going to manifest as the death of the mother, killing the woman with the seed, thus mankind buckling under...hopefully not of course, but a scary possibility.

It seems like if you are an intelligent, ambitious woman there is still hell to pay in this society. Women got the right to vote less that 100 years ago. I heard a bit of history of our ex NYC Mayor Guiliani yesterday. He originally ran as a liberal, switched to Indepentant and then switched again to Republican. He cheated on his wife a few times. His track record for loyalty and trust would make him a dangerous leader. Now, if that was Hilary, forget it! She'd be Toast! Most women at this time are wearing burquas, whether physical or psychological. When Ann Coulter shows up on a talk show she still plays coochie- coo with the male hosts. Brains or not, if you are serious about yourself and not 'serving' the man or showing skin you are called a bad name or thrown in jail or a burqua for punishment.

Although not directly related to political astrology but maybe of general interest to women, I have to mention a beautiful and perhaps relevant play by Heinrich von Kleist titled "Penthiselea" (ca. 1808). HvK was a great author of the Sturm and Drang/ enlightenment period and a contemporary of (and competitor to) Goethe, who completed Faust in the same year.
Penthiselea was a great Amazon queen and warrior whom Achilles, the great archetypal male warrior of the Greeks, falls madly in love with. I hate to ruin a really great story, but in the end Achilles and Penthiselea consummate their warrior passions as Penthiselea kills Achilles in an intense carnivorous lovemaking act.
Kleist's version of the myth differs from other sources, in which Achilles slays Penthiselea and then, after removing her helmet, falls madly in love with her and rapes her dead body. http://www.folklegend.com/article1035.html Personally, I think Kleist's version is better - his literature and interpretation of the mythology is certainly great reading and maybe relevant to our time.
I wonder if Penthiselea is recognized as an astronomical body or astrological entity?
I like this site but I'm upset with the use of "NeoCons." This term refers to a group of largely concervative intellectuals, predominantly Jewish, who support and work with Republican leaders and administrations. They are focused on economics and defense issues. I AM SURE beyond any doubt that they could care less about Martha Stewart or putting women in their place. There are people out there who use this term as a surrogate for "Jews." In that case, its antiSemitic. There are others, apparently this author, who use it without understanding its full iimplications. The problem isn't "NeoCon" intellectual academics; its the very real, vast right wing group of big energy/'oil, misguided religious activists, and the naive who gave this group enough of a minority vote (Gore won!) to swipe the election in living color. How about a little more astrology and a lot less Dennis Miller-like rants with embedded code words that offend people of all faiths. Thanks.
Dear student: fascinating. Dear Mike: I think the authors do a very good job of presenting astrological observations. I also think that it matters the perspective that one chooses to utilize in order to critique said observations. I feel no offense, and find it interesting when others do, because quite frankly one would never find offense unless one has a skeleton or two, I think.
Mike, call me stupid, naive, or unsophisticated, but when I have heard and used the term neo-con, Jewishness has never crossed my mind. I have associated neo-cons with radical repugs , of all religious stripes and color.
The astrologers here are highly professional, and from my perspective have presented material in a professional and respectful manner. I love this site, and it soars best when just astrology is the focus.

The Bush policies are a disaster. The Neocons are just a sideshow in the big tent of Republican extremism. Martha Stewart's inditement is another example of our Theatre of the Absurd. She netted $48K from her deal. Ken Lay trashed $67 billion worth of equity and thousands of retirements! Thats obscene. Now, what does Martha's chart look like. That's my real interest!.
