War and More War
Ever since the fall of Baghdad in mid-April, an increasingly loud and jarring note of triumphalism has been ringing through the corridors of America, reaching its crescendo in the past week with Mr. Bush’s victory extravaganza aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and Mr. Rumsfeld’s gloating trip to the Middle East. The official message is that we have removed a rogue nation with an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction from the World stage and weakened those who committed the atrocity of 9/11. Of course, no weapons of mass destruction have been found, and no proof whatsoever exists of any significant link between Saddam and Osama. But the somnolent American citizenry, hypnotized by the daily images and messages of propaganda from their Fearless Leader, has been conditioned to believe the party line despite convincing evidence to the contrary.
The other official message is that we have liberated Iraq and are about to install a democratic government. Of course, the 60% Shiite population has been warned that this ”democratic” government will not be permitted to be Islamic, another jarring chord in the triumphal cacophony for those with ears to hear.
The unofficial message, more for international than domestic consumption, proclaims that the United States will use its invincible military to promote its economic and geo-strategic goals, as well as to maintain America’s global dominance, despite any and all opposition from the rest of the world. Early writings and position papers have surfaced, authored by members of the current administration, that demonstrate that this plan had been simmering since the early 1990’s. By 1997, these ideas had found a home in the think tank Project for the New American Century (PNAC), whose main thrust was the use of preemptive military intervention to promote America’s economic, security, and strategic interests. PNAC’s first espoused goal was the removal of Saddam Hussein from power.
Following our glorious victory over Saddam’s sanctions-devastated fourth-rate military power, the administration initially indulged in some threatening rhetoric aimed at Syria and Iran. Thus far, however, nothing has indicated any imminent hostilities with either of these sovereign nations. North Korea remains somewhat of a wild card, but the hope is that diplomacy (such as it is under Bush) will prevail, because the likely nuclear confrontation that could erupt would be too devastating.
Unfortunately, an examination of the planets suggests that we are in no way finished with the Bush/Rumsfeld era of military engagement. On the contrary, the military focus of this administration is likely to expand during its remaining 20 months in office. There are two periods of time in particular that suggest increasing hostilities. The first, from July through October 2003, may or may not bring about an organized military engagement, as much as an increase in aggressive and threatening rhetoric and/or hostile confrontations in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other Third World locations. The second period, from January through June 2004, is likely to bring about a significant military confrontation, with Bush encountering a great deal of domestic and world protest in response.
As of mid-May 2003, Bush’s progressed Sun moves to within one degree of a conjunction with his natal Mars (9Virgo18). We will see the resultant aggressive, military-focused, impatient, and determined energy in Bush dominate during the following 12 months, when it peaks in late May 2004. From mid-July through mid-August 2003, the transiting Mars station will fall directly opposite this progressed Sun/natal Mars configuration, thus inflaming Bush with an enormous amount of anger and aggression. It is surely not coincidental that Chiron will be opposing the US and Bush’s Sun at roughly the same time. This latter aspect is likely to bring cries of protest worldwide over an arrogant, bullying, and dictatorial American policy.
Continuing this rather overbearing and militant period into late August and September, several minor aspects suggest that the administration will continue to ride roughshod over any and all opposition, domestic and foreign. From mid-August to mid-September, the converse progressed Inaugural Moon will be conjunct natal Mars. In addition, the Inaugural tertiary progressed Mars will be square to the Inaugural tertiary progressed Sun (9/14 through 10/16/03). Furthermore, the Inaugural tertiary progressed Mercury will be square to natal Mars, and Inaugural tertiary progressed Jupiter will square tertiary progressed Sun. All in all, this strongly suggests an assertive, angry, dominating, expansionistic period that will incite a great deal of global anger in response.
October may well bring this phase to kind of dark climax. Bush’s aggression will be very strong early in the month when Jupiter conjuncts his potent and dangerous progressed Sun/natal Mars conjunction (10/6 through10/11). At about the same time, transiting Jupiter will square the US Uranus, suggesting that the second week in October could bring powerful and explosive events. But two other planetary configurations suggest the possible beginning phase of a real comeuppance for the reckless, overbearing, arrogant policies orchestrated by the current administration.
In October, Saturn will make a station almost exactly conjunct the US Sun. In the US chart, the Sun is very closely squared to Saturn, which sits in the 10th house. This configuration suggests the importance of our world leadership role (10th house Saturn), but with the caveat that we remain humble and willing to serve the greater good. The danger is this position comes from the tendency towards a rigid outlook and a domineering and arrogant attitude. Periodically, usually during Saturn transits, painful lessons will occur in response to our haughty overreach. Our economy often contracts considerably during these times, and our Chief Executive, often the manifestation of the hubris, frequently pays a great price. Thus, late September will begin the nine-month period of Saturn hovering around the US Sun and indicating tremendous difficulties for the country and Bush. This transit will bring enormous frustrations and painful experiences that will not be readily solved or forgotten. Wars will not end in big victory parades and the economy will not rebound. The only solution to Saturn is careful, cautious policies of compromise and diplomacy of which Bush seems incapable.
The second very significant configuration in October and early November 2003, which suggests a great crisis for Bush, is the culmination of his progressed MC conjunct his natal Uranus (19Gemini08). This will be augmented by a quincunx from his progressed Moon at 19 Scorpio (10/9 through 11/9) and further set off by transiting Pluto from 19 Sagittarius, beginning around October 25 and continuing through November. Given that these aspects fall simultaneous to the Saturn station, it seems likely they will bring a series of critical events that cause enormous changes, dislocations, and difficulties for Mr. Bush. This picture is compounded by the station of Uranus from late September through November 2003, exactly on the US progressed Sun. It is important to remember that the US Sun always represents the president. Having the progressed Sun transited by a stationary Uranus while the natal Sun is transited by a stationary Saturn can only mean upsetting, sudden and very problematic events for the Commander-in-Chief.
The second period suggestive of a significant military conflict comes during the five-month period from January through early June 2004. Mr. Bush, at this point, will be under two enormously powerful Mars progressions, both of them triggered significantly during this period. The first, mentioned above, is the progressed Sun conjunct natal Mars at 9 Virgo that will be set off by Bush’s converse progressed Moon conjunct natal Mars in January 2004 and by the Jupiter station conjunct natal Mars in April and May 2004. The second Mars progression of consequence for Bush is the converse progressed Mars conjunct his natal Ascendant, which comes within one- degree orb in September 2003, but is set off by the Pluto transit in sesquiquadrate aspect during February through mid-April 2004. Note that the extra stimulation of Mars through these progressions goes almost nonstop from January through May. Bush is likely to be extraordinarily aggressive, ruthless, impatient, very angry, and perhaps reckless under these aspects. Moreover, the Pluto station that runs from January through May 2004 will be exactly opposite the US Mars, essentially confirming the prediction of war during this period. Because Mars rules the 4th house in the US chart, we can further expect a great deal of domestic turmoil from this aspect, including the potential for violent protests and civil unrest.
The violent and difficult opening period of 2004 ends with the final crossing of Saturn to the US Sun and square its natal place in June. Any feelings of success that may have come during the Jupiter activity of April and May (square US Uranus and conjunct Bush’s progressed Sun/natal Mars) will dissipate in June. Feelings of shame, loss, and humiliation will be more prevalent as we stand amid the ashes of the prior madness. From this point on, until the end of the year, Neptune predominates, bringing with it disillusionment, loss, and confusion. Neptune will be quincunx the US Sun and Bush’s Sun and square to the Inaugural Ascendant for much of that time. The administration will have lost its footing, and there will be no path of return. The converse Mars progression will remain on Bush’s Ascendant through September 2005, causing an irritability, damandingness, and impatience that will be increasingly difficult for others to tolerate. The end of 2004 will manifest for Bush through a Saturn station on his 12th house Saturn and square his Midheaven. He will be forced to face his deepest fears, including failure.
All of this should lead to an election defeat at the least or impeachment. But in my opinion Bush has already committed an impeachable offense (lying about WMDs to take us to war) and the press (and the loyal spineless Democratic opposition) continue to give him a free pass. Regan's teflon coating is like crazy glue compared to this creep. I hope when you say Neptune predominates at the end of next year that it doesn't mean the people will be deluded (seems the masses have been deluded for quite some time). As much as I would love a big fall for Bush and his brownshirts, I don't see it happening unless the media turn on him. And since the right wing own the media I don't know how that can happen.
Don't know about you guys, but I've already had way past all the fun I can stand. So I don't know about getting thru the next year. Think I'll go join a Buddhist monastery instead (decent Neptune).
I'm reminded tho:
"The future is inevitable and precise, but it may not occur. God lurks in the gaps." --Jorge Luis Borges
USians certainly need some acute humility lessons, but it really irks me that the ones upon whom the grave hurts will fall will be children, the elderly, the un-wealthy, etc. in ALL parts of the world. The cadre of monsters that put the whole "plan" together will simply withdraw into their luxury caves & await the next opportunity. And that's all happened in the past. There's been nothing new so far (as I would expect from the transSaturn planets). Something new would be, say, atrocities falling on the shoulders & heads of the perpetrators... that their money disappears in mysterious ways... that they & their children start dying of drug abuse, auto accidents, gunshot wounds, suicides... stuff like that. This line of thot really pleases me... it appeals to my fervent hope for cosmic social justice... that social justice isn't just a nice idea but a real, operating principle.
Nancy, like the centaur's arrow, your words really hit the mark. I hope Bush and his cronies get their comeuppance. It is funny how all their faces reflect the evil that lurks within. They don't need to go to Iraq, Iran, or Syria to find it. They just have to look within themselves. If I have to look at Rumsfeld one more time with that supercilious smirk on his face, and his overbearing attitude towards anyone who doesn't fall in line behind him, I'm going to puke. What is also amazing, is how alike they all are, as if they are mirror images of one another - Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, Wolfowitz, Perle, Rove, Rice. Even Powell, who once was a moderate, and of a more pleasing countenance, now appears more diabolical. I think someone in Iraq referred to them as the Bush Mafia. They're almost like a group of robot-like aliens in a science fiction story that have been sent here on a special mission to destroy the earth (laugh). Hopefully, future events will unravel their web of deceit, and expose them for who they really are, and some of the populace in this country will awaken from the spell that they have been under, and begin to see the light.
Ha, Joanna! I feel the same way. It's funny-sick; I'm a pacifist, a humanist yet I find myself crying out with blood lust for revenge. Won't happen; stopping the bleeding would be good enough.
This may have been mentioned already, but do you see the US public coming out from underneath this media- government-induced spell before the '04 Election? I know you mentioned protests and the like, but we went through that already and seemed to have slipped back into this docile acceptance of whatever the talking heads on CNN/Fox/MSNBC tell us. Just curious if any aspects, transits, progressions show us waking up before hitting the ballot box.
It is hard to imagine that the rest of the world and the liberal-thinking Americans will sit back and let this all happen. I, for one, will put my protest shoes on and bring as many people with me as I can.
I was watching a 2-hour program on Hitler on the History channel and it scared me more than it ever did before, just thinking that our own country could follow blindly an administration's desire for world dominance. I can even imagine the peace lovers (or Bush-haters) of this society being taken from their homes and placed in camps. Surely we won't go that far.
Nancy, great article!!
Nancy, fantastic article! Although, I am exhausted by all of Bush's angry energy.
Larry, I agree with you re Bush's fall not occuring unless the public wakes up. And I fear, as you do, that with the republican corporate media in-charge, they will spin all of Bush's failures in mild nothingness, as they have already done. Keep in mind too, according to the NYT, Bush's campaign chest, so far, is way over 200 million dollars. That's enough money to buy propaganda advertisments to say a public that is under the Neptunian influence.
Crystal, did you ever see a silly Tim Burton movie called "Mars Attacks!"? At another board, someone posted a picture of one of the wild-eyed, leering, big-skulled aliens next to a pic of Rumsfeld, and the similarity was alarming. I also see a coldness and evil in the faces of many of these people. Cheney, in particular, has scared me with his permanent sneer for a long time.
A much better movie I saw over the weekend was "X2- X-Men United", I think it has something to say about the persecution of minorities and dissidents.
Laurie, I saw the Hitler special as well, and it was too eerie. I feel some in WH inner circles---Rove, maybe?---have studied the Nazi rise to power, because they've tried to imitae some of the attitudes and situations we see now. The Nazis took loyalty oaths to Hitler, and he was identified with the State. We see that to a lesser but still disturbing degree in the hype surrounding Bush and the refusal by the media to call him on his lies, to criticize; as well as in the thuggish behavior by his rabid supporters, who also call GWB a savior and agree with him that he was chosen by God, and who love to attack anyone who disagrees with Bush, as dissidents become anti-American, not just anti-Bush. Sorry for the run-on sentence. No, I don't think we're there, it's not as bad as then, but things have evolved in the most fasictic direction I can remember in the US. One of the first things to go is the respect for free speech and the right to disagree with the leader. Anytime the leader is a cult, we're in huge trouble.
By the way, does this article mean that Syria is next, or could it be Iran or (oh no) North Korea? Why are these people so insane?! And do any of the Democratic candidates have enough of a strong-looking chart, one that can stand up to this madness and overcome it? I watched the debate yesterday, and though I liked Dean, I'm not sure he's not too thin-skinned about disagreements. They could tar him with the "angry" label, as they did with McCain. Kerry still seems very good, as do Graham and Braun.
wow, what a total drag of a scenario...i'm just hoping all this mars bad energy turns on bush, and he 'gets it'...instead of the rest of the planet..
joanna oregon & larry, i know what you mean about getting so angry for justice..it's i have to believe in heaven and hell, people just can't get away with this they just can't..
i am hoping that sally's interpretation of the stars is truer in that a scandal will erupt..altho i've been saying this admin is a walking scandal since they began...i just want america to tire of it, and even the 'supporters' of the insanity to 'tire' of it as well, and throw bush out like a one-night stand, the kind you feel guilty about having and never want to see again? y'know we all make mistakes, and altho it's hard to forgive america for being so into this war that took so many thousands of lives in iraq, if they can stop now, or soon, maybe the karma could be lessened on what we'll have to reap...i just hope i'm out of this country when the whip comes down, i trust to the Lord that i will be! but God does serve karma for us all to see with our politicians, look at carter, smiling, and building homes for the needy, out and about in the world in peace, a real christian,...then look at ronnie, dribbling on himself in a wheelchair...y'know....we've got to keep the faith, or atleast try...
You are so right Roxanne, the Bush scandals are all over the place, in our face, the question is "when will the people respond." Surely something is going to grab their attention soon. I don't know if we are shell shocked, uninformed, drugged or what. Claudia Dikinis has said that when Saturn goes out of Gemini (media) the journalists will slowly start coming back to the truth. Hope she right, if the economy really tanks I think that might get people's attention, maybe, who knows. Save for some exceptions people seem to be mostly asleep
yes, sally, but saturn in cancer, well that's not just bad for bush, rummy and the usa sun, i mean, it's opposite it's true ruler...but i see once it's oppressive nature leaves the communications arena...
sometimes i think (like the pope?) that bush is the anti-christ, maybe he will take over the mid-east and then try to sit on a throne in israel...i just hope he is out of office real soon, with less damage done...
can someone, do a chart for kim to see if it is him that casts the karmic blow on america? i'm on the west coast y'know? hahahah..actually i don't think he can reach here, i think he's bluffing..a friend of mine said, never trust a man in high heels unless he plays a guitar...
I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't already a Committee to Re-appoint the President in place right now.
Roxanne, I have done a chart on Kim and he could indeed cast a "karmic" blow to the US, his chart fits into that scenario, however equally strong is Mother Nature could cast the Karmic blow to America, and for this summer right on through to September Mother Nature holds a lot of cards.
I think it is important to remember the last time Pluto made a hard aspect to the US Mars, incidentally the same year Saturn squared the Sun, 1968. Viet Nam had been going for a while, but people woke up that year. There was a great deal of civil unrest and violence: MLK was shot followed by rioting across the country; RFK was shot; the Orangeburg Massacre took place - police clashing violently with demonstrators during a civil rights march; the Chicago Democratic Convention of 1968 was also very violent; and the peace movement really grew - that was the year of Gene McCarthy. This is why I think there will be a lot of protest next year, and it may relate to some of Bush's anger. I see the converse Mars to his Ascendant as a more personal aggression, whereas the prog Sun/Mars conjunction seems more directed into the world in Commander in Chief type of operations.
I also think we need to consider his 12th house Saturn that really wants a concrete manifestation (Saturn) of his divine connection (12th house). I am wondering if he will wake up one day and feel that he isn't God's chosen anymore. I think it will be a real crisis for him, since his ego is so dependant on that merging with the omnipoent figure he has conjured up. Saturn will be statioonary on his natal Saturn from September through December 2004. Besides losing the election, it could be a major crisis for his faith.
well nancy, that's good news...it's never too late for a fake christian to look in the mirror and say,"i'm not doing the Lords work." but this seems too obvious, it seems so obvious that he is so un christ-like that it's hard to imagine that he doesn't already know this, and know that he's truly satanic...
sally! mother nature hmmmm...no earthquakes please! is that what you mean? natural disasters....? hope not.
i spoke to a friend in nyc today and they said that the police are ridiculous there now..constant checks by police who are everywhere..sounds really bad...and he said people were back to being rude again...
before i left in the spring of 2001, i had felt that the level of bad energy was so intense, i could hardly function...people were so disgusting, i didn't feel safe until the pilot said we were over nebraska...and i'm a born and bred italian new yorker...i felt the energy must've reached a climactic bad pitch by the time september rolled around..i especially felt dysfunctional in downtown (closer to the towers)...i had to run around and say goodbye to friends, and i just couldn't do it. had to get on a train back uptown and call to apologize.... .and the two evils slammed into each other....the whole event, and our whole 'era' being true pluto in sag...transformation, destruction, based on religion and foreign travel...the sept 11 attacks were the most literal manifestation of an astro aspect that we'll probably ever see.....having saturn head to the usa sun sign, as well as the chief thief's sun, is going to make for some interesting happenings..however sad for this country....
upon reading the above article, it reminded me of the sept 11 attacks all over again...my interpretation of the interpretation would maybe be another attack, on america, then bush getting trigger happy again, against the wrong guy again...
yes i know kim has a terrible chart of taurus and aquarius mixes...perhaps being set off by late may and november eclipses? it could be he attacks us, or japan, and we drop the moab..?? that wouldn't go over well...although i do psychically feel that when i watch bush, i see a menacing horrible man, a sick man, responsible for so much death and misery, yet when i see footage of kim, he seems to overpower bush in the evil dept...i see bush as a a victim here, of a stronger evil than he is...this is a natural psychic feeling i feel, no empathy towards bush, or anti-asian stuff going on ...is there anyone out there with the same gut comparison??
I can certainly ID with your reaction to NYC's energy field, Roxanne. I had the same experience in Okla City after the bombing of the gov't bldg by what'sisname. I was visiting 6 mos after the bombing... nothing much had been done except some bulldozing of debris. The fences separating off the whole area were still up stuffed with teddie bears, flowers, cards, etc. The energy field was so toxic with grief, rage, etc. that one would swear it was solid. I couldn't stay & went back to the car. My friends came soon after... they said they felt nervous & edgy. I think these places retain their poisonous shocks for a long, long time. One gets a better idea of the meaning of haunting, I think. And by the way, I don't recall going after what'sisname's family & community to bomb & declare wars on them. Lemme see... what might be the reason for that lil oversight...
Also, I can somewhat imagine what the energy field must be like for the Afghanistani or Iraqi citizen trying to build a new life in them.
May bush receive back in full measure & running over that which he has dumped & forced upon others.
Hmmm... seems like Saturn in Gemini would've made reporters very concerned about jotting every "i" & crossing every "t" just right... getting the facts straight, checking & rechecking, careful writing as the karmic hammer would be palpably present... instead of the error-ridden pigslop they've dished out since before dyseletion 2000 with no end in sight! It's weird &, I must say, I'm incredibly disappointed.
Joanna, I agree and have thought the same about how Saturn in Gemini should manifest itself, but the cautiousness seems to be manifesting, with the help of Neptune (lies, deceit, spin), into reporters not saying anything against this administration. As Sally and Claudia have said, the media could awaken under Saturn in Cancer, with our homeland going through very hard times, layoffs, housing problems, etc. Even then, one would think it would take quite a scandal from this administration, even under hard times for the country, for the media to awaken from their corporate-owned conservative control and start courageously doing some real investigative stories. I often think of the Washington Post reporters who broke the Watergate story and it was just a matter of time for Nixon. I'm hoping a similar scenario plays out with some courageous reporter getting to the bottom of things. Greg Palast is like that, but so far the mainstream media won't listen. Time will tell.
Don't you just hate "time will tell!" I guess that's why all of us study astrology, we want to know!! NOW!!
Hahahahaaa... "Time Will Tell!" Very Saturnian, Laurie.
Laurie, I thought that would be the case too, but what I think I'm seeing with Saturn in Gemini is 'The Big Brother' constraining or holding the press in check (or threat ?) via large corporate CEO's.
My question is, how do these talking heads and main stream reporters/commentators (I won't call them journalists at this point), sleep at night?
Joanna - funny! Just call me Ms. Saturn herself (natal Sun/Saturn conjunction)! And Morgana, I have often wondered why in the world these reporters don't want to break some of these inane secrets held by this administration. Maybe they would not get the backing of the newspapers (the Ben Bradlee's) they work for? I think it was Sally who said the media will just be so disgusted, and their disgust cannot be disguised. Let's hope.
Then someone has to have the guts to publish it. They'd go down in history like, 'Watergate', or poof no more free press ?
Did anyone else notice the tennis balls stuffed in Bush's flight suit???
Chuckle, chuckle!!
if this article below doesn't make you hate democrats i don't know what will...it proves my point. we really must abandon them now for almost any 3rd party guy, and teach them a lesson..this is from a paper today from washington, dc..

Looking to election, Democrats change
views on war
By Donald Lambro
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Two of the Democratic presidential candidates and the party's Senate leader
suddenly are abandoning or softening their criticism of the Iraq war in a move
to strengthen their national security postures in the 2004 elections.
With the approval percentage for
President Bush's handling of the war against
terrorism and the overthrow of Saddam
Hussein's regime soaring into the high 70s,
some of his fiercest war critics have
flip-flopped or revised their positions.
Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle
of South Dakota, who has denounced Mr.
Bush for failing "miserably" to find a
diplomatic solution to avoid a war with Iraq,
gives the president "great credit" for his
leadership in winning the war.
Abandoning his harsh antiwar rhetoric,
Mr. Daschle, who faces re-election next year
in a state where Mr. Bush is popular, calls
the war necessary and justified.
"I don't think there's any more justification required than what we've already
seen in terms of the purpose of the military operations. Regime change was a
legitimate goal, was accomplished, and I think that's laudable in and of its own
right," he said late last week in a conference call with reporters in his home
state.
Former Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont, whose vociferous opposition to
the war has lifted him into the top tier of Democratic presidential contenders in
New Hampshire, also has changed his tune.
For many months, he said Iraq was "the wrong war at the wrong time" and
more recently doubted whether the Iraqi people were better off with Saddam
gone.
One week after campaign officials for Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts,
his chief rival, attacked him as unfit to be commander in chief, Mr. Dean
dropped his fierce antiwar rhetoric and said he was "delighted to see Saddam
Hussein gone."
Even Mr. Kerry, who voted for the congressional war resolution but
repeatedly criticized Mr. Bush for not gathering more international support,
made subtle shifts in his position. Mr. Dean was running neck and neck with
Mr. Kerry in New Hampshire, and the senator's strategists were looking for a
way to undercut Mr. Dean's surge in the polls.
To toughen his image on national security, Mr. Kerry had his chief
spokesman, Chris Lehane, attack Mr. Dean for suggesting that the United
States would not always be the strongest military power in the world.
"The dilemma they have is that there is an energetic and large element in the
Democratic Party that remains against the war. But the vast majority of voters,
including many Democrats, support and appreciate the skill with which it was
executed and the firmness of the president in deciding what to do," said
Republican strategist Ed Gillespie.
"Bush had the foresight to do what is necessary in the war with Iraq, and
now you have those who want to challenge him belatedly and begrudgingly
follow him to that same conclusion," he said.
The consensus among debate watchers was that Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman
of Connecticut, who was one of the president's most loyal backers in the war,
came across as the strongest candidate in Saturday's forum in Columbia, S.C.
He sternly lectured Mr. Kerry and Mr. Dean for their criticism of the war
and accused the senator of taking an "ambivalent" position on the conflict that
"sent the wrong message from our party."
"No Democrat will be elected president in 2004 who is not strong on
defense, and this war was a test of that strength," Mr. Lieberman said.
Mr. Kerry insisted that "there's no ambivalence" in his position on the war,
but the Lieberman campaign sent out a newspaper clip to reporters after the
debate that quoted Mr. Lehane saying, "The country is clearly ambivalent
about Iraq. Kerry has been exactly where the country is."
"Some of these guys are beginning to contradict their contradictions. At
some point, it becomes extremely difficult to discern exactly what they stand
for," said Jim Dyke, chief spokesman for the Republican National Committee.
Roxanne, you're quoting from the Washington Times and the RNC. Any ONE of these 9 presidential candidates for the Democratic ticket would be a major improvement over Bush and his secretive administration. A third party ticket will LOSE, LOSE, LOSE. Third parties have NO CHANCE in hell. Voting third party, especially for a liberal-minded candidate like Nader, will only take votes AWAY from the Democratic candidate and be a vote FOR FASCISM to become more prevelant. There WILL be a time for a third party candidate, but that time is not now, we MUST take our country back from the neocons first!!
I love your idealism and you are right, but the outcome would be total devastation for our country. Not enough people would get on the bandwagon. The third party will have their day, just not now. Not in 2004.
i understand your sentiment too, BUT doesn't the above show you that the dems will lose? there shouldn't be a compromise when you're dealing with fascists...that's what happened in 2000 and that's why the criminals stole the election and the dems let them.. how can you or anyone have the stomach for it? it sickens me... when you have a cancer you have to cut out the whole thing, leaving a little just causes it all to come back again..
I think they are really caught between a rock and hard place now. Bush has made it seem like a grand success. To disparage the war now looks whiney and after the fact. It also belittles the military's victory. I think it would take great courage to stand firm that it was a mistake and will prove to be so for many reasons. I don't think it will go well just because not much will go well once Saturn hits Cancer. And I think it was a mistake because it was based on a lie by our Demagoguer in Chief. But the Dems walk a fine line on this. I think they shuld keep quiet and let things develop a little more. Then they can say I told you so. I agree it is painful to see them backtrack at all, but I can understand what a difficult position they are in. The problem is that Bush has controlled the discussion and made it about our victory - for or against. It is hard not to be for victory.
Well stated, Nancy. I'd like to slap the bejesus out of the Dems (and some should resign from leadership positions, like Daschle), but I would dread a third party candidate. As is, the dems may lose to the idiot-in-chief, but with a 3rd party candidate, the loss is guaranteed.
Roxanne, we should use the 2000 election as a lesson. Had Nader not been in the race, we would not have been stuck with this evil idiot. Also, I'm a practical person. I look at the numbers and vote the reality of those numbers. Idealism is good, but I don't believe we (the dems and progressive voters) should cut off our nose to spite our face. Sure, we've voted our "ideal", and now were're stuck with this cabal that will now totally dismantle any remnant of the Constitution.
Hello, Nancy I just read your latest reply and I agree and disagree with you about the Democrats stranding up to Shrub.
I agree with you that Bush will eventually hang himself but we do need someone to replace that "tu-tu wearing, wussy" Minority Leader Tom Dashle who stated the other day that it was ok that Bush lied about Iraq's WMDs so that he could get us to go to war, but I guess since Dashle voted to give Bush a 'blank check', what else could he say.
I nominate Senator Byrd for Minority Leader. I just read an article about Senator Robert Byrd, the only Democrat who seems to have a spine these days, clean Bush's clock over the obvious grandstanding he did the past Thursday when he made his photo-op tailhook landing on the USS Lincoln to announce the 'end' of the conflict in Iraq instead of doing it from the Oval office or some less spectacular venue.
I think his sun sign must be one of the fire signs maybe Leo since he is such a dramatic and fiery speaker.
Could you do a chart on Senator Byrd? I know he is too old to be considered a serious Presidential candidate, but he seems to be the only Democrat who has the spine and the eloquence to express his fury at the crap that this mis-adminstration has been dumping on this country since the Supreme Court selected Shrub in December 2000. I just hope that he lives at least until we have another Democratic president with the 'cajones' to speak the truth since he seems to be the last voice of sanity for the country has in Congress that isn't afraid to tell it like it is.
BTW could you also do a progressed chart on Colin Powell. Could you tell us if he will save what little honor and credibility he has and leave this farce called the Bush White House?Although I was never one of his biggest fans, I saw a lot of potential in Colin Powell, but I could never understand why Colin Powell who is pro-affirmative action and is pro-choice is serving in one of the most regressive right-wing administrations in U.S. history. Has he been hypnotized (he's had a really strange expression on his face since before he gave his presentation of smoke and mirrors at the UN in February) or is he being blackmailed?
Patrick, interesting post. I love Senator Byrd lately, I've been very proud of him since before the Iraq War and his stance on that. And this guy dares to say what the rest of us already know, that Bush is using the military for his own personal political gain.
I think the big story coming up could be (and should be) why this administration is keeping the country from looking at 9-11 more closely. They seem to have a lot to hide, and it is becoming ridiculous. This SHOULD be all over the newspapers and the pundits should be talking about it.
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/5792329.htm
amen to Byrd!!!! he's been like mr smith goes to washington lately...y'know that old fantastic political film with jimmy stewart.
janet that's not true about nader..had he run or not run, gore would have STILL WON...gore WON..please remember that gore won! the white house is run by criminals now, and it was indicated big time at the elections..here's a question for all of you anti-nader-especially-now people:
if nader won the election, (now we're talking about ralph nader here), do you think he would have conceded when he know he won, and it was stolen, just because it was the right thing to do, to concede? there's your answer if he is the right man or not. in my opinion :)
also, it's a weak argument to say, well if ralph didn't run it wouldn't have been that close for the repugs to have pulled off the theft..rubbish rubbish rubbish! they would have stolen it, ralph or no ralph...they've given you the proof with all of their actions SINCE then, that they have 0 morals...none.
rubbish rubbish rubbish

Roxanne, I blame a lot of what went on during Election 2000 on "the people," we should have taken to the streets and protested like crazy, I mean millions of us, when the U.S. Supreme Court decided to intervene in the Florida Supreme Court's business. The Florida court was so obviously trying to be as fair as possible and to count votes that couldn't be tallied by machines.
What a fiasco that was and I get sick every time I think of it. I lost something very precious to me that day.
I do not believe it is fair to "blame" Gore for conceding when the Supreme Court made it impossible for him to fight. They were already calling him "Sore Loser." What else was he to do? Gore is a class act and he handled himself with grace and style. Can you imagine if it had been the other way around, how Bush would have handled it?
Anyway, I wanted to step in here because I guess I am very sensitive when it comes to the Democrats and especially Al Gore. I don't think running down the Democrats is going to get you where you want to go.
oh, don't get me wrong: when gore conceeded i cried even though i didn't vote for him..i'm just disgusted with the daschle stance, and just feel that if the above newspaper article is going to be the vibe of the election, it's george again for 4 more years..
ok, tiredofit!
Patrick - Regarding Colin Powell, I did an article long ago called the Bush, Powell, Rumsfeld Triangle. In it I predicted that the tension between Rummy and Powell would grow very strong in 2003 and might cause Powell to quit. I don't have Powell's birth time, but somewhere in 2003 he begins a converse progressed Sun/natal Uranus hard aspect. I thought that this plus the Uranus transit triggering all kinds of stress between him and Rummy in their composite might push Powell over the edge. I would guess it would happen in the September to November framework when Uranus sits on the US prog Sun. To find the article, scroll down on my list of articles on the left side.

Nancy! Your insight and comments have given so many of us so much hope for a better future for this country, but lately it seems there is nothing in the news to support any of this as Bush just seems to be getting more and more popular! And, now today talk about nominating him for the Nobel Peace prize? God help us - if this happens there seems little hope that Bush can ever do anything wrong in the eyes of the majority of people here as well as the press. Prospects for his not getting into office a second time just seem to be getting dimmer and dimmer. We live in the south here where Bush has just about been elevated to the rank of God's right hand. Very difficult to speak out so we sit here and feel quite alone in all this madness. Not feeling particularly optimistic about the future of our country here at all and feel doomed that Bush will still be here after the next election.
I agree with Siobhan. I live in a very liberal city and I still despair. It seems like most people in this country are sleepwalking or insane or both. On June 3, the FCC is about to turn the media into one big ClearChannel mouthpiece for the right wing. And the people have let it happen. Democracy started dying a long time ago; Bush and his ruthless cabal filled the vacuum. Even in the best elections, only half of the eligible voters vote. Half. The lazy sleepwalkers would happily let satan himself lead them off a cliff, glassy eyed and waving a flag the whole time. I don't believe the stars alone will stop this decline, at least not before irreversible damage is done. The people must stop it. But how? Most have been too lazy to ever exercise the most basic democratic rights, let alone fight hard for them.
Larry, as the American People become more UNcomfortable, disaster funds never show up (been there), they discover they don't have triple A credit and can't get a recovery loan from Uncle Sam, except Uncle is cleaning their pockets before they ever get their paycheck. The States are going broke, who in turn go after Jane and Joe Citizen, who looses their jobs because of Corporate scandal and are pushing shopping carts in our inner cities. Sorry, the people are getting screwed. Now when it hurts they will wake up. It's going to get very ugly when Americans get mad.
well there seems to be way too much astro stuff going on, starting very soon, SIOBAHAN, and LARRY, for you to worry. those american people who want to align themselves with bush, then they will suffer with him.. only the good will survive. whether it is mother nature or an awakening, or another attack, the shit WILL hit the fan.
aren't his followers in the south questioning the point of the war since no wmds were found? why would they want to liberate iraqis? and pay for it? soon they will be forced to answer and ask these questions.
I know it look s very bad right now. But you must remember that Bush is still under a Jupiter station on his Ascendant, Mercury, and Pluto, though only for a few more days. This expands his seeming invincibility and aura of success. But it will change. Saturn will weigh him and the country down. We are still fresh from our big victory without any sense of how it will unfold. It hasn't hit yet at all. And the economy is going to tank even further, and that will wear and wear on people, and it will be Bush's economy.
I live in a Democratic state, and I don't know a soul who can stand him. People turn off the TV so as not to have to listen. The scientific community is appalled at his ideological stranglehold over research. Everyone doesn't love him no matter what the presstitutes say. Most minority people can't stand him either. They know he is full of s***.
Thank you Roxanne and Nancy! I do hope that you are both correct in your predictions about Bush! And, good to hear from Nancy that people around her dislike the little Shrub as much as we do - gosh, that was music to my ears. I see nobody questioning the war here or not finding any WMDs. The reasoning seems to be that Bush liberated Iraq from a madman and that the USA should not stop there and go on to take out all the other "madmen" who threaten our way of life here. My husband works for the government here and there are so many flag wavers who have elevated Bush to the status of God. They would follow him to hell and back if called to do so. It is, to tell the truth, very scarey! The talk here seems to be that we don't need to find WMDs or that we WILL find them soon...we are thinking that sooner or later if nothing is found WMDS will be planted so Bush can save face. People here tell you right to your face that oil was NOT the reason for Bush going to war, they believe that Sadam and Osama were both in it together for 9/11 and that was reason to invade Iraq alone. It's like the whole south here has gone mad! Thank you for letting us know there are others out there that see the light about this administration and the harm they are doing. Only pray the stars are right that we will see the end to this madness! Thank you for your insight and encouragement! We so appreciate it!
Hello All! I'm so happy to have found this site! It's such a relief to read the points of view of astrologers willing to take a political stand! On the subject of the American people, I live in the Midwest and I agree with Siobhan completely that the people are unquestioning and so religiously involved with Shrub that I'm beginning to think he's the Antichrist! It's true that people are asleep. Even those few who want to stay informed are not getting the truth due to the media. I.e., the Diane Sawyer interview with the Dixie Chicks was pathetic. She made them grovel. Then DS went on L.King and when he remarked that it's not unusual to criticize the president, she stated, "Since 9/11...things are different..." I was sick. My opinion of her plummetted. That's just an example. Don't even get me started on that misogynist Chris Matthews! Can no longer tune in to MSNBC. And CNN is becoming one long "Good Morning America". They've even taken Crossfire out of primetime - too much Democratic opinionation going on?
True, the astrology looks grave and Bush will be stressed. I wonder though, in the context of today, whether his Saturn and Mars difficulties will play out as Bush becoming meaner, more ruthless, more belligerant, crueler and deceptive than ever before. Same for the USA. I hope Nancy's analysis is correct as it objectively appears to be. I am inclined though, from this lonely perch in "God's country" that people are sufficiently dulled through fear-based manipulations to stand by their "hero" the "warrior" pres. I can see him taking us into another conflict(s) as Nancy outlines. I also think this will strengthen the neo-cons. They are cons alright! People in Democratic environments where everyone despises the admin. have no idea how it really feels to be surrounded by these zealots. I've never been so depressed about politics in my life! The average American does not discuss politics anymore. One person told me it's like religion, too personal to be discussed! And I don't hear anyone talk about the economy. I think the internet will be the final frontier of free discourse, and even that will be spied upon. Call me paranoid, but this is the Heartland (Fatherland). I see a future of fascism.
dear worried!
well don't they realize that if sadam was a madman with wmds, that we lost the war because the madman got away and so did wmds?? why not ask them if they thought of this, and see how they react. is the bad economy not hitting where you are?
we talked on here a few weeks ago about the usa being the scarlet woman, the whore in revelation, which whom the Lord lets the beast (the bin laden crowd) destroy...it's so weird! i think that we've consolidated it now FOR SURE by going into iraq which is considered ancient babylon BECAUSE in the bible the whore who sits on many waters with the multitude of nations within her (america) IS actually referred to as the whore of babylon in the bible. thanks georgie, thanks a lot! well it also says in the bible for us to "come out of her" so that we do not share in her plagues.. but i'm not ready to leave my country to the devils and fascists just yet..
i would like to share another thing --
i had a vision just last weekend that i think is very important that i'd like to share. for some reason, while washing the dishes, i thought of lot's wife. now i am a born again christian, but i don't walk around 24 hours a day thinking about the bible, sadly for me...so the thought of why this came to my head was interesting to me as a sign..and i figured it out, it's a sign God wants me share with all of us here..
why was lot's wife not allowed to turn around and see the evil doers being destroyed? i always thought it was too hard on the eyes, and psych, but now i realize it all has to do with gloating ..revenge..i think the message is that hate, all hate is poison, and as much as we all want to see bush rummy rice cheney and rove ground into mincemeat, it is poisonous to feel this way..we should know in our hearts that God will take care of them and be content to move forward. it's hard i know, especially for me, being an italian, but it's really no good for our souls to lust for their destruction. just their departure from our lives and so that we can keep walking.
i shared this with my husband, who brought up george wallace. had wallace been killed, instead of crippled, he would have never lived to see the err of his ways, repent, and end up supporting jackson for president in 88.
bushie is a mis-led man with loads of demons..he thinks he has god, but he has satan, yet if he falls and lives he may learn the difference, and that will be one less poisonous soul here and in hell...i'm going to post this on the more recent comment board too, so all can see it, i hope you understand my point.
