Are we “shocked and awed?” Do you think the people of Baghdad are “shocked and awed?” Do you think anyone in this administration asked for a bowl of water to wash the blood from their hands? Seventy one percent of the people are now “for the war.” Do you believe that?
The reign of Bombs on Baghdad started at 9:00pm Baghdad time and 1:00pm Washington time March 21, 2003. The moon was at 16 degrees Scorpio, conjuncting GWB’s Inaugural Mars. He delivered a gift to the people of Iraq, the only gift he seems to know to give, “death and destruction.”
I don’t think he is prepared for the anger that will come toward him from people all over the world. The Moon for Washington when “shock and awe” began is in the 4th house indicating anger on the home front and anger toward the home front. There will be retaliation. In Washington Jupiter was retrograde in the 1st House and in Baghdad it is on the Midheaven. Mr. Bush took his obscene and egregious self-power and rained it down over Baghdad. GW’s natal Pluto right smack dab on the Midheaven of this chart, along with transiting Jupiter, and Mars is inconjunct. They did not and do not know how to use the power they now have in their hands, the result is a jumble. The Inaugural Chart represents what a particular administration will experience and how that relates to the administration and to the US and with Mars in the 7th squaring Mercury and Uranus in the 10th keeps the angry circus going for this administration. Out of their self-created pandemonium will spring revolution. They couldn’t make a movie out of the last two years because the audience couldn’t keep track of the plots and sub-plots.
This Inauguration foretold violence, lies, mistakes, hubris, anger from our friends and open enemies alike, and most important: Saturn in the First House. Among other things; Saturn here creates situations that constantly confront this administration and the US. With Saturn here we must all learn to love and cooperate in order to attain fulfillment. This Saturn was retrograde and went back to meet it’s square to Uranus, a break from the old to the new. What we are seeing now is a fight of epoch proportions to hang on to the old way of doing things. Uranus will win this fight because time is on his side.
Look at what is happening in the world besides this war. Unlikely people are standing together against this war: The Christians and Muslims, France and Germany, and of all people, Russia and China. This solidarity for peace is incredible and didn’t exist even during WWII. In other news people are questioning the relevancy of the monarchy, the Catholic Church, movie stars, Presidents, Corporations Prime Ministers, the UN.
We the people have elevated these politicians and paid them homage, gave them power over us, gave them all our money, worked to make money for them, so they wouldn’t have to work. George Bush thinks he is making a change in the world toward an empire, just as we the people are deciding we don’t need empires; we need to get along, and we need to share. The omen here, and one to pay attention to, is the United States is destroying a dictator in order to establish a dictatorship, and the world will not bow to another dictator and will destroy the new dictator.
We have let our power be usurped for generations and we will have to stand in our power in order to get it back. And believe me, the “stars” are on our side. Pluto in Sagittarius, Chiron in Capricorn, Neptune in Aquarius, Uranus in Pisces, these are powerful planets and energies and they are all in signs of the collective, pushing and demanding the wholeness of society and these planets will win the race for collective wholeness, no matter how it has to get done.
Everyone who knows this is already part of the solution to the problems that have been created.
On April 4th Jupiter turns direct and begins its final march toward an opposition of Neptune—that will be when this bubble starts bursting. And would you just look at this, Solar Arc Neptune and transiting Jupiter are in an exact opposition. My goodness. This is a real prescription for mass delusion, deception (could our President not be getting accurate information?), lies… it’s hard to keep track of reality with these aspects. For Bush, both of them are aspecting his Mercury. How tiresome; whatever grand schemes this administration has, will meet the cold hard facts of life when Jupiter slips out of the foggy grasp of Neptune, which it will, about the time Saturn meets itself at 29 degrees Gemini. (Reference the “Red Alert Article”) That was when Congress said “go to war George, anytime you like.”
Did you ever have the experience of sitting around a table of like-minded people planning, let’s say an event? It all looks so good on paper. You do this and I’ll do that, and the people will follow. The event or project begins, I’m doing that and you’re doing this, but the people are not playing the part they were supposed to play. That’s what is happening in Iraq right now, and we can thank Pluto opposing GWB Uranus, and Saturn square Neptune and Pluto sitting on the Inauguration Moon. The Turks are invading the Kurds, and the Kurds want to keep hold of Northern Iraq and are fighting the Turks. There is another group that has come into the picture, a group connected to Al Qaeda who wants to bring true Islam to Iraq and the Kurds are saying, “get out or we will kill you.”
The US doesn’t want the Turks fighting the Kurds, but the Kurds want Northern Iraq as their country. Turkey and the Ukraine say no, and Turkey has sent 1,000 troops to stop them. Throw in a few different Muslim Sects and everyone is fighting everyone else and creating unexpected problems for the Bush war. And to top it all off, they cannot find any Weapons of Mass Destruction and the rest of the world figures the US will plant some biological chemicals just to prove their point. Are you confused? To quote Dan Rather “it’s quite a mess right now, and creating problems for the war effort.”
The 29 degrees Gemini also squares the 29-degree Sun in Pisces, when this war started. A VOC Saturn squaring a VOC Sun—well this doesn’t feel good for our boys in Washington. They could be singing the tune of “oh yes I paid the Piper, I paid him very well, I paid him what he asked me and now I live in hell.”
Whatever happens around the time Saturn hits 29 degrees will be an omen of what’s to come when Saturn moves into Cancer. One of our readers on the comment page mentioned how hard Saturn on your Sun can be, and history can certainly attest to that. Saturn on the US Sun has always been a painful time for the United States. I cannot imagine it will be an easy time for GWB since his Sun squares his Moon. However, there is much to dissect before we get to Saturn in Cancer. This administration still has to get through their Neptune illusions and Pluto power plays, as evidenced by the fact they don’t seem to grasp what’s going on around them. Pluto is just sitting, sitting, sitting on the Inaugural Moon, and squaring Inaugural Solar Arc Venus, opposing GWB Uranus and progressed Midheaven. Mars is going to go back and forth in opposition to GWB’s Mars, as it retrogrades in Pisces through July and August. That ranch in Crawford isn’t going to have enough air conditioning to keep him cool. By that time Saturn will be squaring his Neptune and all his pre-natal planets (his subconscious) this could be a very dangerous time for the President, for his health and for scandals.
All astrological paths lead us to the same conclusions over and over, this administration is in big trouble; since the Election 2000, when no one spoke out, to 9/11, it took months for people to ask “what went on here,” and now at least 48 percent of Americans are speaking up regarding this war—it won’t take the people much of a leap to speak out about other inconsistencies. However there are additional issues to watch and we need to keep out antennas up for the impact on our lives.
We can continue to expect war, fabrications, unrelenting attack on our Constitution, Bill of Rights, women’s rights, and civil rights, fabrications, restrictions of our movement, fabrications, scandals, fabrications, right-wing judgments, fabrications, marketing and spin to make anyone who dissents seems like the enemy, fabrications, poll numbers that don’t add up, fabrication, and fear, the ever present specter of manufactured fear. This administration is on a mass campaign to brainwash and enslave the people of this country, they aren’t the first and won’t be the last, we just got lazy and they thought they could do this. They can’t, so don’t lose heart. And don’t be fooled by a “party title” whether it’s Democrat or Republican, watch what our leaders do, not what they say.
I am a person who is always for the under dog no matter how awful that person is or how much I may dislike or mistrust them. When I start feeling sorry for someone I know they are about to be the under dog and about to get a big karmic stomping. I almost, but not quite yet, feel sorry for George Walker Bush.

You are wonderful at reading the stars but, better than that, you must use your strong intuitive ability to interpret what you see, a glorious skill for drama and, always, the gift of hope for many of us who feel lost. Great articles. Hawks in the administration (a redundant phrase I recognize) have stated a desire to overthrow the regime in Iran next. Do you have a chart on Iran, and any insight into when they might try to launch an attack there?

Larry, although the history of the Iran Empire goes back 5,000 years the chart I and many astrologers use now is when Khomeine landed in Teheran about 9:00am on Feb. 1, 1979. Giving a 21 degree Pisces Asc, and 25 degree Sag midheaven, their Sun is 11 degree Aqu. and Moon 6 Aries. I would say, with the Sun and Mars (9 Aqu) being aspected by Neptune and ruling their 6th house of the military, Pluto coming to a square to their Asc. and opposition to their Neptune (19 Sag.) the first opportunity George's cowboys would go in could be in Aug. or Sept. and then the window of opportunity lasts for a about a year. The world will be at a loss as to how to control the US. Their Mars and Sun oppose GWB's Pluto and Neptune in the US 2001 Inauguration has Solar Arc to their Mars. The Administration is drooling now with what they think their opportunities are in the Middle East. They have a huge plan for the whole area, and that includes the concept that we own it and we'll let local people run it, only the US will be the "enforcer." I have my doubts that they will be able to carry their plan out.
First of all there is confusion in their government as to how best to defend themselves from America. Neptune on the Sun and Mars can be some dissolution of the identity, big time and they won't know who to trust. Iran will go through another big transformation of their country. The US is now being run by "not nice people." I do think our government is deluded as to what they can and cannot do. Too much anger and opposition building against this administration.
OMG! Their Ascendant is 21 Pisces! We had the coup and 9/11 when Pluto conjuncted our Ascendant. They will have the square. Thanks for the info on that chart, Sally. I'll be taking a look at it. It is clear Bush will be at war this summer/fall and likely next winter/spring. The only question is who will he hit. I don't think Iraq will be finished either, with their Venus Saturn opposition (20 Gemini/Sag) hit by Pluto next year as well.
Whoops, I may have been wrong regarding Iran. AP is reporting that three or four missiles have, oh gee, so sorry, hit Iran. Also Iran says the US is violating their air space. We may be looking for a war with them in let's say the next 48 hours.
Thanks Sally. Seems to me that the population, save for only the most bloodthirsty will grow very tired of watching bombs fall for the next year and a half, no matter how gung ho they may be on Bush now. Add to that the economy, oy, and it's Bush Fatigue big time.

5:33AM 3/19/03 chart. Yes now with Pluto turning retrograde late March 22nd. the militant force is starting to reap what it sowed. There is no question that the solar eclipse at 9Gemini on May 31st with Saturn at 29Gemini will be a precursor to a US government that will implode from within.
Fortunately the people's vote for peace his being heard loudly (witness cancerian Michael Moore's speech at the Oscars)- It is a time to embrace the mutual reception of Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius, as the old patriarchy dies to give birth to heart.

Hi, I'm pretty new to astrology---I know my own chart from books, and it's damned accurate!---and I've been lurking here for a while, and learning more. I love what you do, and I thank you. It really puts it all in a larger perspective, and injects some hope, as well as neccessary and wise warning, into the world today. If the Bush cabal has done anything positive, it's to show us that yes indeed, it can happen here, and we have to be alert. As Morrissey once sang, "There are some bad people on the rise/ They're saving their own skins by ruining peoples' lives". People of conscience must counter what they're doing, we owe it to ourselves, our country and the world. We owe it to children being blown apart by bombs from the sky today.
This week's Newsweek states that Cheney, philosphically, views war as the natural order of things. He has the so-called "tragic" view of history. My god, this maniac is in the White House. And often in an underground chickenhawk bunker. Bush hates the media---obviously---and couldn't hide a smirk when they were ushered out of a cabinet meeting without being allowed any questions. Unlike even his father, he didn't agonize over this decision to go to war, he didn't write a letter to his children, as Bush, Sr. did. He went straight to beddy-bye, and he's sleeping fine. He's one of the most chilling human beings in my lifetime, and horribly, now the most powerful.
You have often written about the Inaugural chart, and how it pertains to what has happened to us. I'm wondering, is an Inaugural chart specific to a particular time only, or to a particular administration? Would the past two years have been very different if Gore had been the one in the White House? Could a good president, as I feel Gore would have been, have overcome the difficulties and prevented many of the political catastrophes? Let me just say, I believe things would have been different, I voted for him, I think he was a fine candidate and is a very good man, and so different from Bush in almost every way. I sometimes daydream, uselessly, "what if...?" I just wonder what the stars say on this issue.

Tricia, I am so glad you are studying astrology, you will never find it boring. The inauguration chart lasts for 4 years and through Solar Returns and progressions you can tell what is happening to an administration during that 4 years, you relate the inauguration chart to the President. It does show the potential events but how an individual president responds would be different. Al Gore has a better understanding of diplomacy, domestic issues, and the Constitution. He was not likely to have destroyed all of those things, his response to the events would have been much different. He would however have faced tremendous odds for his policies due to the constant negative attacks by the Republicans, and the country would have been split because of those. Doubtful there would have been tax cuts to benefit the wealthy, doubtful there would have been the foreign policy mess, or the mess we have in Iraq or North Korea, however, as a people we did not have anything different to compare until GWB came along and we can see how badly some individuals can respond to events, there will be a different criteria for the next election than there was for this one. Most people don't have a clue because they never thought of being destroyed from within by their own government.
Thank you, Sally. I also think the Republicans would have tried to attack Gore mercilessly, as they did with Clinton. The more successful he was, the more they'd hate him. But I don't believe he would have alienated the world, or most voters.
I just read today, he gave a speech at a Tennessee college decrying the attacks on dissent and free speech, the erosion of democracy. He referenced the Dixie Chicks incident. Oh Al, come back.
You know Tricia there is an underground movement afoot to pressure him into running. I've thought that he might down the road if there is a call. The reason I've thought so is the 2000 election was held on a Mercury Retrograde and was an obvious mess. We could as a nation right that wrong in 2004. It's hard to tell because he has said he is out of it. But on 2004 Gore's progressed Midheaven is at 16 degrees Gemini and the election ends with 16 Gemini on the Asc. That's not the strongest indication on the outcome, but it is an indication. Uranus is retrograde at 2 pisces on the election's midheaven, some astrologers would read that as a return to the same administration. I guess it will depend on the next year and a half and if the public awakens.
I will be very, very frightened if this same administration returns. I would vote for Mr. Hanky over Mr. Bush. But you've given alot of indicators of alot of problems for them, even though things seem to be going so smoothly for them now, relatively, with their firm control on the public's view of this war. I think they'll use the war to try to stay in power, they depend on it. (A poll in the NY Times had 50% saying Democrats shouldn't campaign during wartime, and 58% said candidates shouldn't speak out against the war because it would be bad for troop morale!) More than oil, more than Mid East hegemony---which are convenient bonuses for the neocons---they want to insure their election. (I don't say re-election because, well, you know.)
Would you say there are similar astrological indicators, in the present and/or future, to the Nixon White House? Are these people like those people, in many ways? Is that why they may be due for a similar fall from grace? I'm trying to understand them, trying to wrap my mind around what's happened in the past two years, and it's still very hard.
You've mentioned the influence of Saturn in a campaign versus Venus, and that Dumbya had strong Venus in 2000. Did that temporary charm serve to blind the media to his true character? I thought they were incredibly brutal and unfair to Gore, who apparently didn't please them even though he was clearly the smarter, more decent and more qualified candidate, and he even got the worst criticism from Ralph Nader, who should have known better.
There are some tiny signs of life in the media, some of whom seem to be tiring of being treated with disdain by this secretive administration, but I think that for the most part they're still morally afraid, nobody wants to be the first to challenge the status quo. They see what happens to those who do. I don't understand how something like the Halliburton contract in Iraq isn't one of the biggest scandals in political history. It's outrageous and obscene, but instead the media jumped all over Whitewater, which was a comparative joke. Where's the Starr Investigation on *this* regime?
I'm going on and on. Anyway, I also heard the rumor about a movement to draft Gore. He should do it---astrologically it could be much better this time, and politically he's much more attractive, especially in comparison to Bush. He's been through the Rove destruction machine, he knows what to expect and what's really going on. He just seems more at peace with himself, and this could serve him well.
Tricia, Claudia Dikinis and I had a conversation regarding the media and Saturn's presence in Gemini over the last two years. Gemini rules the media and with Saturn there could serve to supress their coverage as things started falling apart in the US. Although Saturn was in Taurus during the election (what we value) it was retrograde another restriction on the media. I do think they will become more aggressive in their coverage as this goes on, and I still think Peter Jennings and ABC will be the first to fall.
There was a great deal of supression and a ho hum attitude for a year after Watergate and then Woodward and Deep Throat turned it into a major scandal and the media jumped on board. There was also a great deal of ridicule and supression of the anti-war movement until it got so big and so violent it couldn't be restricted anymore. Nixon's Pluto (in the 10th house) was opposed to Mars (a real indication of self destruction) Bush doesn't have that but he does have Pluto in the 1st house (another indication of self-destruction) and Neptune is opposing that now. Nixon did not have the Republican "machine" behind him that Bush does, that came with the Reagan Administration and has gained strength through the last twenty or so years and if I have a concern it would be with that machine. Tony Blair will fall before Bush in the UK, he is on much shakier ground and Uranus will come back to square his Taurus Jupiter and Mars is going to go back and forth over in Retrograde motion over his 11th house cusp while squaring his natal Mars, plus his progressed Uranus is now in a square to that Mars. I have some real concerns about Blair this summer and fall and again after the first of the year when transiting Uranus conjuncts his 11th house cusp and squares his Mars and opposes his progressed Uranus. Blair has some very difficult transits coming up over the next couple of years (we had a hint of that with his own labor party fighting him) and he is being led down the primrose path with Neptune on his Moon, he will see that when it's too late for him.
On a larger scale, it is absolutely necessary for the people to awaken, that's what is going on in the larger scheme of things. We are breaking from the old to the new (Bush and friends are the old) How bad it will get depends on how long those in favor of the old hold out, because the new will prevail. We will become a part of the larger humanity of man.

Has anyone factored in the fact that the Planet Nibiru (aka, Planet X) is entering our Solar System in May??? The last time a new planet entered our solar system was Pluto in 1939...right on the heels of WW2 when the Atom was split and the Atom Bomb became a "Weapon Of Mass Destruction"! Ironic isn't it that two revolutions of Saturn (28-30 years each) and we're in yet another war!
I do not know how this Planet Nibiru will effect here us here on Earth. I'd love feedback on this, so would someone here do a Google search on Nibiru/Planet X and perhaps have a discussion on this momentous event.
