When one of my sons was a little boy of 4 or 5, he was obsessed with watching sports on TV. I would make him go out to play with his friends and he would cry until he could once again come back to the TV. I asked him why was all he wanted to do and he said, “When I grow up I am going to play like them.” He thought a person only had to watch the “big boys” to be an athlete; he didn’t know that he had to learn how to be a “big boy” and how to play the game.
This is the feeling I get from this administration, they never learned, never paid their dues, never learned the fundamentals of the “game of life.” You cannot “read” a book and become a powerful statesman or leader; you have to interact with, respect and understand the team.
While we are all foaming at the mouth over what GWB and group is doing let’s remember that George is self-destructive (Pluto on Ascendant) He has messed up everything handed to him and he knows this. Right now Mr. Bush on an internal level is terrified that his “game” is up—it’s his constant fear.
The US has been self-destructive too, with Pluto transiting our Ascendant, but in the case of America, Pluto moves on and we learn how to rebuild something better for ourselves.
There is or should be a RED ALERT for the White House and Congress. On October 14, 2002 Congress placed in the hands of this President a dangerous toy for the delusional. A toy with which they should not have been allowed to play. Congress gave this President the war toy, the “you can go after Iraq Toy and play war anytime.” This gift was handed to GWB when Mars was at the critical 29 degree of Virgo in square to another 29 critical degree of Saturn in Gemini. A BIG MISTAKE, and Congress is beginning to feel the pinch of that mistake. Washington has underestimated the anger of the people.
Mars is now approaching 29 degrees Sagittarius and today Turkey said “not now and maybe never,” some in Congress are beginning to squirm with the knowledge they are about the only body in the world who handed such a dangerous toy of war to a man who never learned the fundamentals of decent play. Congressional Representatives and Senators will ask amongst themselves, “What were we thinking?”
Mars square Saturn can be cruel; Adolph Hitler had this aspect. When Saturn rolls back to 29 degrees Gemini, on June 1st joined by transiting Moon, Congress via the People will have figured out their mistake and by October/November of 2003 they will be scrambling to reassure the voters they really didn’t mean it. {just a side note this 29 Mutable degree also squares Rumsfield’s Solar Arc Pluto – Spain sent a very ego busting message about Rumsfield this week – “Muzzle him.”}
The natal chart of Turkey (Oct. 29, 1923 – 8:30pm – Ankara, Turkey) shows their Moon, representing their people, is at 29 degrees Gemini {Tony Blair’s Solar Arc Sun is at 29 Pisces} The people of Turkey are over 90 percent opposed to this war, and to letting their country be used by those who would make war. The only thing the power of any government fears, any democratic government, is the clout of the people and the Turkish Government has backed down in the face of the people power.
Scratch the surface of the base of Saturn oppression and cruelty, and you’ll find fear. There isn’t a politician corrupt or not who can oppress unless they hold your fear in their hand—and that’s when you give your power away, to government, jobs, or a person. George Bush has successfully tapped into our collective “fears” and is playing all of us like a “fiddle” though those fears. The administration is also “crying wolf” and will do so one too many times.
Kronos, in mythology became Saturn, the God and Star who rules government leaders, VIP’s, executives and petty bureaucrats, and calls attention to and questions one competency to handle “the job.” Saturn at his highest level builds security and foundations. Squandering a country’s economic surplus, wasting a world’s support in time of trouble, getting in the middle of two wars of their making, attempting to build their foundation on fear and pain, doesn’t seem to be a passing grade on competency. Kronos is now at 29 degrees of Gemini, awaiting himself to judge how he has done in making the world secure. Saturn will give these present day bureaucrats their failing marks the first of June as the petty bureaucrats turn a deaf ear to the people. Graduation comes when Saturn goes into Cancer and the bureaucrats find themselves in deep doo doo.
Turkey may not have a choice but to follow the demands of her populace, or pay a terrific political price. Some of the countries opposing this war know their populace isn’t afraid of expressing their passion as we in America (where many become afraid of expressing ours), except when it bursts forth in spite of ourselves, like now.
Spin the wheel again and we have another critical 29 degrees of fixed signs. Uranus is taking his last lap in Aquarius right now, and he falls on America’s progressed Sun and Progressed Mercury; squares the UK’s progressed Mars and Tony Blair’s Jupiter, and Uranus will be back after a brief hello to Pisces. On January 15th & 16th when the world rose up to say a collective NO, Mars was at 29 degrees Scorpio in square to Uranus. Now, the transiting Node of the Moon is marching back from Gemini to Taurus placing the South Node on 29 degrees Scorpio by June 1st.
Coincidentally, serial rape on a massive scale was revealed to have taken place at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This has gone on for such a long time with the women being punished and intimated if and when they spoke up, and is so serious someone even woke up Senator Allard and told him this was his State, and he should do something. The metaphor of years of sexual abuse and rape at a US Academy as it relates to the “rape” of our US Corporations upon the people who built those corporations and the “rape” of our US Government upon another country wasn’t lost on me.
There are BIG problems in the United States of America and we needed this breakdown in order to resurrect into something better. First we have to make the old go away.
We’ve been lied to by all parties for decades, probably from the beginning and we are guilty of accepting the lies. This recent obscenity on our country and people has taken at least 20 years of careful subterfuge, marketing and spin to bring America to this alarming point but here we are and we are now coming alive, but we must face our own delusions about this country. We won’t be able to do it all at once, but we will do it because time, strength, and the luck of the Gods are on our side. In the “Spirit of America” chart (Draconic) Jupiter is at 29 degrees Aquarius. Transiting Uranus, Progressed Sun, and Progressed Mercury are throwing good fortune in the way of the people. Before 2003 is out, a true leader will emerge.
With transiting Uranus sitting on top of the US progressed Mercury, stunning, scandalous, surprising news is rising to the top. Did anyone hear about the US allegedly “bugging” the UN Security Council—anyone remember Watergate? Gosh, we hear this just about one year before Saturn crosses the US and George Bush’s Sun. It took exactly a year for Saturn to hit the US Sun and bring Richard Nixon down 29 years ago. Are all our chickens coming home to roost or what?
And what about the unearthing at Whitehall, that the Thatcher era lost 1 billion dollars of Whitehall’s money in support of Saddam during the 80’s when the US and England were shoring him up. The people of Britain don’t have the “tie” to GWB that Tony Blair seemingly has, and they will not tolerate a continuation of their money seeping out to no win situations in Iraq. Our money is “seeping” out to Iraq now.
There is no money for the states, education, social services, cultural endeavors, health care, domestic security; NO MONEY for domestic programs, but there is seemingly a never ending supply of money for Iraq and war. The very week we were bribing Turkey with $30 billion dollars, the states were told they couldn’t have any money for education.
I believe it is retrograde Jupiter, the ruler of the US ascendant, which is holding up Mr. Bush’s war and giving the people of the United States and the world the opportunity to remember why we don’t trust him. Jupiter doesn’t go direct until April 4th just a couple of days after the April 1st New Moon.
March’s New Moon is in a pretty good aspect to Bush’s Sun. Mars and Uranus sextile each other at “29” degrees, within Sagittarius and Aquarius respectively. Both are inconjunct the New Moon midheaven at 29 degrees Cancer, forming “A Finger of God.” Suddenly and unexpectedly the US and Britain might start pummeling Iraq, but there will be hell to pay.
April Fools Day looks to be difficult for Bush, the United States, Blair, and Britain as the April New Moon is in stress aspect to a ton of planets on all the “willing alliances.” I think they will find themselves remembering the childhood refrain “April Fool has come and past and you’re the biggest fool at last.”
When Jupiter goes direct you can expect the BS to fly, with perhaps this administration determined to “teach us a lesson.” Unfortunately for them, two years of divisive tactics have created opposition toward them from within, and someone in the F.B.I., C.I.A. or the Pentagon will spill the beans. Bush and the band of merry men (and one woman) will be doing damage control for the rest of their administration.
We are three months, well within orb of being affected, of a Solar Eclipse at 9 degrees Gemini on May 31st. That Eclipse sits on the US Uranus and squares GWB’s natal Mars. This Eclipse also falls into Tony Blair’s first house and conjuncts his Solar Arc Neptune and progressed Moon. Mr. Blair may be headed for a change in his personal status. This particular series of eclipses relate to new and sudden creative plans. The US Moon is ruled by Uranus as such relates to the people, our ideas and plans could suddenly take hold and block the Bush team’s end runs. We will see. With Mr. Bush’s Mars ruling his midheaven, the summer will be stressful. Too many bridges have been burnt with too many people here and abroad. With Pluto on Mr. Bush’s South Node we will be treated to the worst of his qualities as he tries to deal with these nerve-racking situations, and Pluto will make sure everyone gets to see his breakdown all through ’03 and ’04.
When all is said and done however, this isn’t about Mr. Bush or what we think he is doing to us. This is about the people of the United States and what we want to be. What do we want to give or share? How do we want to be viewed? Do we want to be an instrument of peace and goodwill (we sing and get all teary eyed over those words at Christmas) or mass destruction putting the whole world at risk?
Once again I say and will continue to say, the United States of America isn’t our political parties, or President, or even that behemoth of a government. The United States of America is the People. It isn’t “their lies” it’s the lies we have allowed ourselves to believe, and we can put a stop to it. The sooner we answer the call for peace and prosperity for all mankind, the faster we will get out of this mess. It was a long road getting us here but we can change it in a twinkling of an eye. It is imperative that we understand that we need to stand up whenever and wherever we can.
While we are restoring balance in America and the World destiny is in our hands.
P.S. Be sure and follow other astrologers, there is so much going on in the Universe right now, affecting so many countries you need a whole court of astrologers to sort it all out. But don’t let any of it frighten you. The United States has experienced horrific things the last 100 years and we are still here because of the courage and strength of the masses.
Sally, each piece you write are better than the one before, if that is possible. Thank you for giving us hope that "Before 2003 is out, a true leader will emerge." Ever since the 2000 election, I have felt differently about my country. I want the old feeling back, as I am sure many more do. I have learned recently that there are many people like us out there. Didn't someone (you perhaps?) previously mention that something will very subtly happen in February or March of 2003 and then come back later (in the Summer?) to bite the Administration in the backside big time? Very good article Sally. I also heard that bit about the bugging of the U.N. but nothing further was reported, so I don't know if it was just a rumor. I am hoping that Bush will be impeached, or have to resign before his term is up because of all the underhanded tactics, false information, and propaganda he has resorted to, in order to make his case for war with Iraq. I have no respect for, or trust in him or his administration. He cannot be described as a person of integrity, and is actually making Saddam (who is supposed to be the blackguard) look good these days. I guess we should have taken a hint from the way in which he gained access to the White House.
In any case, you are quite right about the people being responsible for standing up in the name of truth and justice, even if Bush claims not to be affected by the anti-war demonstrations. If they get bigger and persist, I'm sure the President will be forced to pay attention whether or not he cares to admit it. I was surprised at the complacency of the Congress both Democratic and Republican when they gave him carte blanche to declare war on Iraq. Even the madia seems to have been cowed into submission. I guess since the 9/11 events, most people are afraid to be branded traitors if they dare to express an opposing view, and knowing this, Bush takes full advantage of it.

Great article, Sally. I love your stuff. I've been following Gary Hart. To me, he is the kind of thinker and leader we need now. Could he be this emerging leader in 2003? Or is puritanical america going to reject him for past personal transgressions? His chart looks great in 2003/04.
The "new leader" could very well be a woman, you know... I wouldn't want to miss her by focusing so exclusively on men imo.

For the true leader, I was thinking more in terms of Howard Dean. He moves people. However, Hart is very smart, but he seems to need more passion. Either one would be good.

In answering the last three comments, let me say that comment #1 regarding the mainstream media, they are cowed mostly because they are owned by big business who are looking to the Bush Admin. to help them become bigger and they keep a tight lid on what can be said, however they are losing customers to the BBC and I've noticed that Peter Jennings irritation seems to be rising toward the Bush cartel, and in England Dan Rather is very forthcoming about the restraints placed on them, but it is very slowly changing. From a business viewpoint the US cannot continue making other countries angry with the US, in spite of America's power status we cannot go it alone. Most people don't know that the US isn't owned by Americans and Saudi Arabia alone accounts for more than 40 percent of Wall Street's trades.
As to Gary Hart, I don't think it will be the people who will block him out, but Hart might be a little too hesitant and apologetic with his Mercury/Saturn square and the Repugs will replay his past over and over and over, linking him with Bill Clinton clone. A lot of people don't even know why they don't like Clinton but the "media" doesn't so they don't. I don't rule out a woman and that would be my personal preference, but they will crucify her. Hillary could stand up to that and she faces her marriage issues head on, she or someone else might be a possibility if she's strong, and honest about this administration. Howard Dean is another possibility but he badly needs traction. It absolutely needs to be someone who is not "politics as usual." The Bush Admin will be pretty sullied in a year from now and unless he does something to entrench himself he's gone.
People need to know there is a provision in the Constitution that if the US is under attack at the time of the elections a sitting President can call off elections.
There are several pending and possible scandals on the horizon and any one of them could blow up. One in January where the US destroyed 8,000 pages from Saddam (there is something in those) business scandals and this admin top people dealing with Saddam and Jong, more info on 9/11 and the Bush connections, bribing other countries when we badly need funds here, the domestic agenda, and not to be dismissed, the "bugging of the security council."
March 10th, 11th is a very bad day and we should hold our breath, Jupiter goes direct, the Sun and Moon square Pluto (which also squares and Moon Conj. Bush Uranus) There is also a great deal going on in his progressed and pre-natal and draconic chart, but all that would be too much to list, I do however look at that when doing the charts. It will have to be the people, we have to wake up and face ourselves, then we will get rid of them or they will be so hamstrung they will want to go. Women will start coming into power and there will be tons of men supporting that.

Dear Britt, thanks for the kind words and this isn't my site it is operated by JB and he also has an excellent political blog mydd.com. JB graciously lets me post my astrological articles and I so appreciate the feed back.
Tony Blair has some really interesting and dupliciteous aspects right now. Mr. Blair is also not trying to protect his political career so much as he is trying to ensure a good job for himself with perhaps the Carlyle Group once he leaves office. His Sun in Taurus in the 12th house indicates he keeps a great deal to himself and can be stubborn. While he does have some strong humanitarian impulses with his Moon in Aquarius, transiting Neptune is conjuncting that now leaving him wide open to lying or being lied to at this point in time. His moon is also opposite GWB Pluto, so Tony can find himself pretty controlled by Mr. Bush, and that seems to be the case at this time and right now he may not see that at all but he will in time I do have some concerns for him this summer and fall. His midheaven is 3 degrees Pisces and Solar Arc Uranus is opposite that at 3 degrees Virgo, both of these points are squared by his natal Mars and transiting Uranus sets it all of. I would expect some sudden change in his career or flat out that he might be in some danger. Saturn will Conjunct his progressed Sun making him a fairly unpopular fellow in England by Summer. Plus a new job may not turn out to be all he hopes. People don't think he is making sense, people in Europe and can't figure out what's happened to him. His Mercury is Conj. George's Saturn so George can sort of out-shout him if you will. The next two years don't look real positive for Mr. Blair no matter what he does and I fear he will realize too late, that he threw his "lot" with the wrong people. I do also have some concerns for his well-being. That transiting Uranus squaring Natal Mars and Solar Arc Uranus opposing the midheaven can be violence. I hope the aspects to the US progressed Sun and Moon will wake up the American people, and they will take back their power.
I'm usually a very tolerant person, but Bush & co. are really challenging my feelings about justice and forgiveness.

Sally, again you have taken what is complex beyond words and made it at least comprehendable to those of us who are not professional astrologers. It is extremely helpful to have your politcal insights from an astrological persepective, particularly as the heavens participate in the drama unfolding over the next several months. Thanks!
Kronos (sometimes spelled Chronos) is what would be called a "transneptunian point, there are several, eight points to be exact. They are personal points and used by Uranian astrologers, who rely heavily on hard aspects, mid-points and these eight hypothetical points in the Solar System.
Kronos is considered equivalent to Saturn, I think of it as Saturn's Shadow. Kronos is a point that not only represents our leaders, but also considered the "judge" (that's part of Saturn's role to judge) So Kronos would "judge" how well Saturn has built upon the foundations of the earth that were put in your charge.
Interestingly Saturn had just conjuncted GWB's Kronos during the fall of 2000 and was in a trine to the US Kronos, a new leader. Now there will be a "grade card" so to speak issued on that new leader. When transiting Saturn opposes the US Kronos (at 21 Capricorn) there could be a final "judgement" of that leader. Has leadership been used wisely? The Kronos point would be the objective judge in that instance. I think since Congress gave "war" approval to the new leader when Saturn was on 29 degrees Gemini (Kronos point) their decision will be the one judged.
I have two charts that are used for the Republican Party and both of them has either the Moon or Mars square that 29 degrees Gemini, so something is going to have their knickers in a bunch when Saturn hits 29 degrees. I would expect an attempt to regulate an oppressive agenda. I would like to say to them what my father used to say to me "you are breeding a scab right on the end of your nose," because they are.
At this moment in history the right-wing would like nothing else but to have us look alike, talk alike, believe alike, act alike and maybe even dress alike. They are steeped in fear of all that's different. Unfortunately, "freedom" is a concept that embraces differences. Someone should ask the right-wing and even GWB to define what freedom and democracy mean to them. If they are honest they will tell you that it's their own personal freedom - to be free from everything they don't like.

I noted that provision in the Constitution where a sitting President can call off elections if the country is under attack.
It came out looking like a set up for the 2004 elections.
Plus this gang seems to be really setting up their home in our house as if they expect to be there for a long time.
That's why we urgently need to put a stop on these new election machines that are being made and programed for 2004 by Northrop Grumann, a company that is basically run by 7 of the top Bush administrators.
Big time conflict of interest there. Along with a massive amount of many billions in awards of contract paid for by us, for the purpose of the destruction of mankind.
In fact it's easy to see where all our money has gone that has put us in debt.
I accidently stumbled on it while researching the companies that the Bush administration are affiliated with. Millions and billions in awards of contract every day in 2002 going into their own interests.
All for the purpose of destruction and control. What an absolute waste of money.
But I believe the people of this world are not as archaic as this frightened group of men and one woman.
We Americans will have to stop them . WE have that right and it is our responsibility.

Sally, in your March 3rd post you claim that there is a provision in the US Constitution that elections can be called off if we are under attack.
Could you please tell me where? I have a copy, and can't find it (and I think the Founding Fathers were WAY too smart to put that in - then all a sitting President would have to do would be to orchestrate or provoke an attack).
