We are, as they say “multi-dimensional,” operating on several levels at the same time, and so it is with these “boys” in the White House who would be men. We, the human race, have a tendency to raise individuals up to an elevated status, way above our ordinariness. We then pay them well, endow them with super-human qualities and place them high on a pedestal, allowing them to tell us how to live. We accept their laws, their justice, their wars, their bloated salaries and exclaim them to be kings, gods, makers of men, hoping they will throw us a crumb from their good fortune; the good fortune we have forgotten we gave them in the first place.
While people have lost their jobs, savings, and retirements; while people are starving in this country; while people suffer and die without adequate health care, our Congress gave themselves a raise-- because we told them they were special and better than the rest of us. And now we are in the soup, so to speak. This administration is becoming like Hydra, the multi-headed beast that just keep growing another more frightening head.
An unwise tax cut that turns out to serve the wealthiest 2 percent, resulting in an out of control national debt for which the taxpayers will have to pick up the tab.
Criminals, common thieves, in charge of our corporations.
A President who has repeatedly lied to us and is hell bent on making a war against all expert advice, willing to let our sons and daughters die for his personal agenda.
Civil Liberties taken away from us, if they take them away from one, they will take them away from all.
Laws reversed allowing the environment to be a serious health threat to every man woman and child.
Standing in a quagmire of unilateralism-- while every possible International Accord designed to make life better for all has been scrapped by the US.
Where did our current President obtain this belief in raw power being used for his benefit alone? For that we need to look to Pluto, raw power is never so evident as when one is born with Pluto in the 1st house, as was George W. Bush. Pluto has the ability to hide and justify hidden agendas, obfuscating what is really going on. Pluto is as adept at confusing issues as Neptune, but Pluto does so with intent. When placed in the 1st house of self, it becomes ones own personal agenda that is being hidden.
At 7:00am, November 7th, 2000 the Presidential Election began on the East Coast. (See Election 2000 chart) In retrospect, that chart gave us the outcome of: (1) who would win the election, (2) the problematic counting system in Florida, (3) the secret machinations behind the scenes, (4) the power plays, (5) friends in the media helping to cover the dishonesty of the election, (6) plus the violence and embarrassing revelations that would follow this presidency. This chart, in comparison to the Inagural Chart of Jan. 20, 2001, tells the story of GWB’s term of office from the beginning to the end.
The Sun at 15 degrees Scorpio conjuncting the Ascendant from the 12th House is squaring Uranus. Hidden workings were afoot that would ultimately and shockingly affect our roots; and will continue to impact the very foundations of this country. Unexpected changes to the underpinnings of the US would rule this Presidency. In the Inaugural Chart we have Mars at 16 degrees Scorpio in conjunction with the Election Sun and Ascendant squaring Uranus at 16 degrees Aquarius. This synestry comparison affects the 1/7 house axis and the 4/10-house axis. The entire four years will be fraught with scandal, war, and chaos lasting beyond 2004. The Election Sun crossed the ascendant last spring, look for all the hidden agendas to be brought into the light until Election 2004.
Chiron is now squaring the election Mars at 2 degrees Libra, note that Mars trines Neptune from the 11th to the 3rd house, indicating that friends in the media covered the election dishonestly and got away with it, Saturn will be squaring Mars in the spring of 2003, they will come under heavy criticism at that time.
The Moon in Pisces and Mercury at 29 degrees Libra in the 12th house ensured that confusion reigned in Nov. 2000 and will continue to dominate until 2004. I have stated this in other columns, but the Neptune opposition to Mr. Bush’s Asc./Mercury/Pluto cannot be emphasized enough: creating extreme miscommunication, a mistaken belief in the rightness of one’s actions, and illusion leading to disillusion.
By election 2002, the Moon will have progressed to 16 degrees of Aries in trine to transiting Pluto and sextile to Natal Uranus. We can look forward to a little more clarity at the voting booth in November. With Mars in Libra at the next election, the people will be using their anger to vote. Contrary to the belief that this was the “candidates” election, it was not. Elections lead to the benefit of a candidate, however the election itself belongs to the people.
With the Mercury/Pluto in the first house of George Bush this presidency is “stuck” on his own ideas and opinions, not caring too much for the input of others. This particular aspect supports his bellicose “my way or the highway” attitude. Pluto is focused on power; Uranus in ancient astrology is exalted in Scorpio, making Uranus another planet focused on power. The power of doing it “my way" and my way alone. With his natal Uranus inconjuncting the 1st house of the election chart, he really doesn’t care what others think. From the GWB perspective, this is his hour and the people have nothing to do with it; that will become evident to all by July 2004 as the progressed moon makes it way to the 7th house and squares Uranus.
Mr. Bush’s membership in Yale’s secret society of the Skull and Bones makes him suitably prepared and well connected for an all out power grab of world domination. Transiting Neptune aspects hides the fact that this is not only folly on his part but a foolish and dangerous folly and thus far he’s been able to lead the American people down that elusive Mercury road, but not forever. Mr. Bush has some extremely powerful friends, but he is also making some powerful enemies. With such a heavy emphasis on Pluto, Mars, and Scorpio, one has to use the energy for the greater good of all or Pluto will destroy any and all chance of success.
Jupiter just crossed over the US natal Mercury and opposed natal Pluto in the second house. We, the people, have been given a quick look at how bad the economy can be when power, resources, and wealth are not distributed fairly. When Saturn crosses that point in 2004, the example of that unfairness will be very painful and restrictive to our economy and our lifestyle. I foresee America struggling until 2006, and then a very slow and hopefully more even road to peace and prosperity. It will however, be slow going. Pluto has just gone over the US Ascendant and Pluto destroys, but eventually the energy puts something better and more authentic in place of what was.
Our leaders are not any different than us, they are not higher principled nor do they usually act in the best interest of the majority of the people. They act in their own interests just as we do. America will continue to cut George Bush a huge swath of slack as long as we continue to avoid looking at ourselves. That day of American courage won’t be much longer-- we are just about sick and tired of abuses of power. When that day of collective courage comes, we will demand --and most likely get-- a more open, honest America.
